We had a great stay at Gulfside. The pool was amazing and it’s a short walk to a great beach spot. After a few unforeseen issues our first night, Kathy and Jim were graciously accommodating and moved us promptly to another unit. It’s a great place to stay for families with small children and there are a lot of great restaurants close by.

First time staying here and it was exactly what we wanted. Walk to Upham Beach easily and tons of restaurants within a 10-15 walk as well. Great little room with everything we could need and even had chairs and umbrellas that we could bring with us to use at the beach. Loved everything!

This place is a gem if you appreciate the classic motel vibes and throwback to a more laid back era. All of the employees we interacted it with were friendly, funny, and helpful. There were a few times some other guests were bending rules and their responses really strike a great balance between addressing the violation without making anyone feel uncomfortable or defensive. The location was unbeatable - a direct walk out to the beach. The Happy Hour beer was no craft brew but honestly perfect for the beach, and ice cold to boot. Shuffleboard and corn hole added to the charm. Free parking right by our room made things easy. We also really appreciated the green efforts - real coffee mugs to grab some coffee and fixed shampoo/conditioner dispensers to avoid small bottle waste. If you’re a light sleeper note that ceilings aren’t super well insulated so we heard a lot of happy little feet running above us. For us, it was part of the charm, but it might not float everyone’s boat

Kathy and James were great hosts, on site and most helpful. They are proud of their Gulfside Resort and it shows through their commitment to details inside and out.

The location and apartment were great! Walking distance to the beach and local restaurants and shops. The apartment was comfortable and clean. It was a nice and quiet area which was appreciated after a long day at the beach. Looking forward to coming back another time!

Where to begin? Kathy was an outstanding hostess. Gulfside Resort is a wonderland. Clean and comfy rooms, peaceful surroundings in a quiet neighborhood, 5 minute walk to beach, and everything you need is nearby. Chances are, you may never leave the family run resort. The room was very clean and comfortable, the outdoor furniture was inviting and snooze worthy, and the pool was refreshing, available and sparkling 24/7. The family history and Gulfside story is part of the charm. This is a not a chain or corporate investment property. This is a family vision that started as a vacant lot in the 1970's, perhaps even earlier, and is now a hidden gem, lovingly run by the next generation. Don't spend hours shopping for a place to stay in St. Pete Beach. You will not regret unwinding at Gulfside Resort.

This place was amazing and it felt like home! Grounds are well kept and the rooms were clean. Pool was big and they had all types of things like noodles, floats, umbrellas and comfortable lounge chairs to enjoy while relaxing by the pool. It was a prime location - two or so blocks from the beach and walking distance to a bunch of bars and restaurants! Kathy was amazing and so were all the guests. Thanks to Kathy and Jim for the great weekend and hospitality! We will be back again soon!

Honestly my best stay in Tampa yet. It’s like your own little home. Everything was super clean. Had a pool and hot tub right outside your room and Mike was very quick to respond. Highly recommend!!

This place is the photo gallery but better - vibrant and kitschy and whimsical. Carefully decorated and fun. We spent most of the evening in the hot tub, which was such a perfect and private luxury. The area is not metropolitan - so if you like privacy and spaciousness, you’re going to love it! Mike was friendly and gave us great recos for local eats. The only downside is the distance from downtown, since commuter traffic makes the drive longer. But if you’re not hoping to pop back and forth between downtown Tampa and here too many times during your stay, it’s a dream! We’d stay again and heat the pool too next time. It’s so nice!

This place was a gem and I am so happy we found it! I have 2 words for this listing. Steam Shower! I chose this room based on that huge steam shower. We arrived right at check in. The host had sent us very clear instructions and our code. With the easy instructions we got right in our room. Everything was clearly labeled. The bed in the room was lumpy and sunk in the middle, but who cares? That steam shower was a dream. I used it within an hour of checking in. The city was amazing, the restaurants and the sight seeing was incredible. But the absolute best was that shower! I showered 3 times in my 2 day stay. I can't say it enough, Steam Shower! It was so luxurious and I didnt really want to go back to real life after the stay at the Blue Bayou. We stayed here before our cruise. I wanted to cancel the cruise and just keep staying in that shower! We are planning a return trip. The rest of the home was super nice. We ate pizza on the porch in rocking chairs! Love this place so much!

Beautiful French Quarter-themed room with a super comfortable firm mattress and a spacious shower. The pool and hot tub area were perfect for unwinding after a long day—such a relaxing vibe. Mike, the owner, communicated clearly and was very responsive throughout the stay. I’d absolutely stay here again the next time I’m in Tampa for a weekend of salsa dancing!

My stay at Blue Bayou was brief—just one night—and I didn’t really use any of the common dining or kitchen areas. So, I can’t speak to those amenities, except to say they seemed well equipped and comfortable. But, the host accommodated my request to store my bike indoors, the large smart TV came in handy for a late night movie, and the in-room shower was cavernous with high water pressure. Check-in was super easy, and I had good local beers and food within a few minutes’ walk. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Gorgeous, and convenient location. Walk away from the historic district and just a quick drive to the sponge docks. Clean rooms and the hotel itself is very homey. Parking is great, as well. Will be back to stay again!
