Vacation rentals with breakfast in Southwest

What a beautiful home, and comfortable. Well appointed, access to the national park was straightforward by car. Bring some smaller cash notes if you like buying produce from roadside stands. Look forward to staying here again Not a feature of the house at all, but the local eateries* were somewhat disappointing (except for stopping in at agrarian kitchen kiosk on the way in from Hobart) vs the kitchen at the house was so lovely that in retrospect we would have put more effort into cooking at home. *cafe at the mount field visitors centre and the fika cafe at Maydena

Simply stunning! Entering through an impressive gate through bushland to a house on a hill…. lit up from every room ….was an impressive beginning. With sweeping water views. Every convenience provided from the sparkling wine and bread… to a pantry full of staples, coffee machine with beans…..and picnic hamper, blanket, plenty of wood and walking poles for the amazing trails marked around the property. This place has it all! Somewhat a nature reserve and very peaceful. Views of the stars one could only dream of. And responsive hosts!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful and peaceful location. Ideal for a relaxing stay and exploring the Huon valley. Bruce provided helpful directions and turned on some lighting to help our arrival after dark. Would stay there again when back in the area.

I can recommend anyone to stay in Jane’s place. It’s a lovely old house with a lot of history and the rooms have all you need (also a heater for those cold nights 🙂). And the location is very close to the town and shops. If you’re there on a good weather day, you should definitely ask Jane for her tips on where to see the aurora in town. Unfortunately it was clouded when I was there but normally in Strahan they become very visible. The complementary supplements for breakfast were much appreciated! Thanks

We had a really lovely stay at Apple Valley Retreat. We felt at home straight away, some nice touches like croissants, jam and eggs available. Everything clean and tidy. Kitchen really well equipped. Enjoyed watching the Pademelons in the mornings. Good communication throughout.

Phil and Mary were very welcoming. Phil gave our grandchildren the farm experience of working a backhoe, riding a quad bike and a tour through the forest. It is a magical place, so peaceful yet only 5 minutes drive from Cygnet, which was where we needed to be on 3 of the days of our stay.

The most stunning incredible stay. Ben’s place was just as beautiful as the photos! We loved the open space and the great read of all the economical features the place presented. It was quiet, peaceful and just what we needed. The breakfast was a lovely touch and we made the most of the extra provisions for purchase. We will definitely recommend to others and be back again ourselves 🤩

I gasped aloud as the front door opened revealing the beauty beyond. The cosy front foyer with its dramatic staircase enticing me further into this enchanted world. I climbed the stairs edging closer to the stunning sliding glass doors wondering what more would be revealed …. The Bowmont delivered! Stunning vignettes wherever my gaze landed. Curated. Warm. Elegant. Cosy. Beautiful. The space begged me to sink into its gorgeous peace and rest… “Come, relax”, the rooms whispered. The most magical space from which to explore the land-beyond-Hobart. I will come back again one day … (And if you are reading my review … you should come, too).

Paul and Henrietta were very welcoming and generous with their time, showing us through the gallery and a hug ari g hiking tips. We loved every second of our stay and appreciated the plentiful breakfast supplies and cozy room. The view is perfect . We had a lovely stay and would love to come back!!

Gary is a wonderful host of a beautiful bed and breakfast. He came out to great us and was informative about anything we could need, and provided a lovely breakfast the following morning. He also had lots of interesting stories and facts which was an added bonus. The property itself is very nice and so was the accommodation. I would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone passing through because it is very lovely just like Gary.

Absolutely loved Barbara's private retreat. Fell in love with the beautiful space as soon as we walked through the door. Wonderful decor and the most comfiest bed with luxurious linen. Such a spectacular view from the floor to ceiling windows while being snug and cosy. Barbara also showed me her spinning wheel and her lovely arts and crafts. Had a lovely night away and will definitely come back again. Peter also pointed out a beautiful little pademelon eating a carrot by the front door. Such lovely hosts with a beautiful home . Beate is an excellent host. She is thoughful, provided many nice extras, and maintained privacy while being available. I had the studio for three nights and it was most comfortable, tucked off to the side of the house and very quiet and peaceful. The studio is smaller than the main apartment (where I stayed a year or so ago) but ideal for one, or two people for a couple of days. Highly recommended.

This is a very special type of BnB, Breakfast and Bed as they say. Thana is an interior designer and very hospitable host. Check in before 16.30 to have complementary afternoon "tea" (snack and drink of choice, ours Saki) and view Platypus. In the evening (must book 1 day advance so Chef can have fresh ingredients picked that day) Chef Kazumasa-san will give you a dining experience that would be difficult to find anywhere in the world (and I have travelled a lot inc Japan) and defiantly unique to Australia I would think. Wild Platypus in the stream through the garden makes it unique. Japanese Omakase style with slight French twist using fresh Tasmanian ingredients. Max 6 PAX but Chef prefers less. The atmosphere is very calming and relaxing due to the styling of the rooms. Then there is breakfast, that is another dining experience to itself where again Thana and Chef Kazumasa will spoil you. Staying at Cambridge House is an experience, not a stay, foodies delight.

The accomodation was perfect for what we needed whilst staying at Bruny Island. The bed was super comfy and it had everything we needed. Lyn was incredibly helpful with local suggestions of what to see and do and where we could find food. We would definitely stay here again.

Gary is a wonderful host and it is a pleasure to be a guest at his home. The breakfast is filling and tasty. Gary makes great jams and sauces that he serves with breakfast. The room was spotless and very comfortable. We stayed in the room with the king bed and it is one of the more comfortable that we have experienced. Sitting by the outdoor fire was a great way to spend the evening. There are limited dining options in Dover. The first night was at the RSL which was noisy but the food was ok. The second night we ate from the pizza restaurant which was open for takeaway only. The pizza was good. There is not much else in Dover for dining.

We had such a nice stay here. Gary was a fabulous host with a wealth of information. A very interesting fellow. My son loves recreational fishing and the local jetty was the best fishing of his life!
