Serenity Garden Suite
Vicki’s place was perfect for what we needed. She was very quick to respond to all our inquiries. If you stay here- you’re a super quick drive to all of what Sechelt has to offer. Bricker’s Cidery is walking distance and there are a couple parks in the neighbourhood. What stood out the most was the beautiful garden patio. You are surrounded by lush tropical plants and you can even see the ocean. The hot tub was a treat along with being able to use the bbq. It was a welcoming space for kids and we really appreciated it. Thanks for a great stay!

Cozy Cottage
The house was extremely neat and clean. First impression was very positive. Once we were settled in, we had everything we needed. Very pleased.

Epic Inlet Views at Custom Waterfront Home

Dreamy House on Sunshine Coast with a Cozy Patio
had a lovely girls trip with friends at Thi's place, beautiful location, garden and home, has everything you need for a relaxing weekend and especially loved sitting on the patio by the fire pit I would definitely go back again!

The Ocean at your Door - Cozy Waterfront Cottage
Beautiful location!! Talk about waterfront, you are literally on top of the water 😊 We saw many seals and otters, geese and even Eagles on the beach eating their fish. The sound of the waves and the ocean lapping on the rocks… and the refreshing scent of the beautiful ocean air. The caretakers, Tani and her Husband were very nice and accommodating. Shiney Happy People! Thank you so much, we really enjoyed celebrating our 15 Year Anniversary at your piece of Heaven. The cabin is also very well equipped and nicely decorated!

Enjoy the view @ Inlet Retreat
We really enjoyed our stay! The location was quiet and close to downtown, the view beautiful, and the bed comfortable. Kirsten was responsive and friendly. Definitely recommend and we'd stay again given the chance.

The Robins Nest sunset suite close to the ocean
The Robins Nest is a lovely suite close to Sechelt. The driveway is right off the main road making it easy to find but the house is set far enough away from the road to make it quiet and have a pretty view of the water through the trees. Check in was straightforward and the suite bright and surprisingly large. The bed is very comfortable and lots of extra blankets, pillows and towels were available. The keurig coffee machine was much appreciated as was the coffee and cream Laura provided. Laura also left us some delicious scones that we enjoyed with our coffee in the mornings. Laura proactively suggested we book ferries well in advance and always responded promptly when we had questions. We enjoyed our stay at the Robins Nest very much and would happily stay there again!

Carriage House by the Ocean
Tad was a fantastic host! He was friendly, responsive, and had great recommendations for hikes and restaurants in the area. His guest house was immaculate…. An inspiring space and very clean. It was furnished with care and well appointed with incredible attention to detail. My wife and I were in the area for three days and had a wonderful time. We‘ll be back for sure!

Your guide to Sechelt
All About Sechelt
On the Sunshine Coast north of Vancouver, the village of Sechelt sits between the Sechelt Inlet and the Georgia Strait. Mountains surround this easygoing, artsy town, where most popular attractions center on the appreciation and enjoyment of this scenic natural area. You’ll find countless trails and pathways to explore, including Davis Bay Esplanade, a short oceanside walk where you can watch the crabbers or take in a sunset. Rolling hills covered with Canada’s oldest forests — filled with ancient, enormous hemlock and yellow cedar trees — frame the waters of the inlet and rocky beaches below where you can launch a kayak or canoe. At Porpoise Bay, you’ll find a sandy beach and calm waters for swimming.
During the winter season, snowshoeing and groomed cross-country ski trails are accessible at Tetrahedron Provincial Park and Dakota Ridge. Nature’s bounty is also a cause for celebration in Sechelt, and a thriving agricultural community will help you discover local farm-to-table restaurants, farmers markets, wineries, breweries, and cideries.
The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Sechelt
Sechelt has a long, cold rainy season that stretches from October to March. It’s best to bundle up and bring snow-resistant footwear if you’re visiting during this time, when the forests fill up with mist and fog stretches across the beaches. The late spring and summer are sunny and warm, making this the most popular time for outdoor enthusiasts to book Sechelt vacation rentals — but it’s still a good idea to bring layers for the cool evenings. Throughout October, the Sechelt Arts Festival brings artists and audiences from all over BC for an interactive festival highlighting local Indigenous communities. The event features gallery shows, dance performances, craft workshops, film screenings, lectures, and music. And in December, the community gets into the holiday spirit with the Festival of Lights, featuring a street parade, food, and a musical light show.
Top things to do in Sechelt
Cowrie Street
The town’s buzzing main street is lined with gelato shops, brunch-focused cafes, music stores, bakeries, and shops selling toys, gifts, and home goods. If you need to grab hiking gear and kayaks, you’ll find outdoor outfitters in town. You can easily traverse the street in an afternoon before wandering down to the pier with a coffee in hand.
Hiking Trails
About 16 minutes to the west of Sechelt, you’ll find Sargent Bay Provincial Park, where you can enjoy unspoiled views of the rocky coast and take the trails around Colvin Creek (where you can see a fish ladder) and Triangle Lake. The paths at Hidden Grove are wheelchair accessible and they wind through more than nine miles of old-growth forest (note that there are no restrooms or other facilities available here). For a gentle hike for all ages, you can take in Chapman Falls in about an hour round-trip.
Artisan and Farmers Markets
The Sunshine Coast is brimming with markets that celebrate local farmers, artists, and makers. The main Sechelt market with vendors selling honey, crafts, prepared foods, and hard cider is held on Cowrie Street each Sunday morning from April through September. Fall and winter markets are held inside from October through December. About 20 minutes to the southeast is Gibsons Public Market, where you can shop for small-batch cheeses and plastic-free products, eat at the Market Bistro, or take in the latest art exhibit.
