Come and join us in one of the most beautiful villages on the Jurassic Coast - and possibly in England! The village has two pubs within easy walking distance, both offering food and open fires. ABBOTSBURY offers a great village shop, galleries, tea rooms a play park and famous attractions including; the Swannery, Tropical Gardens and Tithe Barn - ideal for our younger visitors. Abbotsbury and the surrounding area has something for everyone, walking, fossil hunting, cycling, water sports, great beaches, historic sites, great sun sets and fantastic places to chill . We are on the South West Coastal Path (SWCP) for those who are taking on that challenge. The County town of Dorchester, market town of Bridport and beach resort of Weymouth are all within easy reach.
  • Very warm welcome. Nice little village in the typical house, shame we stayed 1 night.

  • Lovely house in lovely village. Jackie was very helpful and accommodating and we had a very relaxing overnight stay - taking refuge from the one night of wet weather after 4 glorious days walking the Jurassic Coast path. Lovely friendly well behaved dogs added to the welcome! Great breakfast and lovely strong coffee

  • The accommodation is lovely, immaculately clean, but everything feels easy going. The setting was ideal for us to visit lots of different places in the area. It could not have been more perfect.

  • A lovely property with great views. Fab place to stay for 5 nights with our dog. Lots of lovely walks and cycles if you like hills! Jackie and her husband are great hosts. Would definitely recommend.

  • Abbotsburry is beautiful and very well located. The same goes for Jackie's house with the wonderful garden. Usually we book the whole accommodation through Airbnb, so we are self catering. I was skeptical how that would work out. It was great. Jackie spoiled us all around. She and her husband were very open and very helpful; We all felt very well. Highly Recommended.

  • Thank you Susie and Hywel for a great stay! We had a lovely time in this beautiful part of the world. Communication was good throughout. We ate at The Kings Arms on the first night and had an excellent meal, also nice to sit by the fire place (5 min walk), we also enjoyed breakfast at the farm shop (very short walk) and Susie made us breakfast one morning which was fantastic. We did a good bit of walking along the coast path. Thanks again, would come back again for sure. Christina and Adam

Bridport is about a mile and a half and we are a half mile walk from the Broadchurch coast. The studio enjoy's unlimited Wi Fi ,TV .
A unique private space with everything you could need to enjoy a break near the Broardchurch coast.
We are a short walk from the Broadchurch coast. In fact the house was in the first trailer for the program. The market town of Bridport is about a mile and a half away and has a thriving saturday market and antiques area.
  • This space is so delightful. It’s a flat above a garage. Was warm and comfy. There is off street parking and kitchen facilities. Vicki is a great host!

    Nicola2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Easy access, a very patient and accommodating host. Thoughtful touches concerning dietary requirements. Convenient location, private off-street parking, warm and comfortable, plenty of amenities. A little noise from proximity to road, otherwise, very quiet at night.

  • A little gem with all the amenities and only a short walk to the beach.

    Richard2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • I was really surprised at quite how stylish and cosy this studio apartment was. We only stayed a night, as we were attending a wedding, but would of happily stayed a week in this self-contained accommodation. Vicki's communication was really good.

    Sean2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect location, just a quick walk from West Bay. Lovely cosy converted garage with everything you could need. Wonderfully comfortable beds and sofa. The inside felt much larger than we had expected, with full kitchen and shower. There was milk in the fridge, and a bottle of wine which was very much appreciated. Lovely stay. Will definitely stay again next time we fancy a bit of fossil hunting.

    Richard2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and my two children stayed for two nights over half term. Vicki’s place was easy to find and within walking distance of West Bay. The space was really comfortable and had everything we needed. We would stay there again.

Either a spacious double bed room or one with twin singles. Max 2 people in a very old farmhouse. Private bathroom, bath & hand shower. Barn for bikes etc. Free parking on the drive. Central in Abbotsbury, a small, pretty village near Jurassic Coastal Path, Chesil Beach, Ridgeway Walk. Simple breakfast: cereals, toast, a boiled egg and tea or coffee. The main road may be busy at night with local farm traffic. NB we charge by the room - see 'Lovely Old House' for 2 bedroom option max 4 people.
You have a choice of a room with a double bed or a different room with 2 singles ( If you want two separate rooms for up to 4 people see /www.airbnb.co.uk/2404112/details) in our old farmhouse, which is in the centre of Abbotsbury Village, on the Jurassic Coast of Dorset and access to the Chesil Beach and the Ridgeway Walk just above the village. We provide bed and breakfast, we do not offer self-catering or cooking facilities but guests are welcome to boil a kettle for tea or coffee at any time in our cosy kitchen. There is no TV or kettle in the bedrooms. Parking is off the road on our driveway behind the house. This is an ideal place to get away from the hurly burly of city life. Great for walkers, cyclists, golfers or sailors or people who just want to relax and explore the beautiful country and seaside. Abbotsbury has many more hours of sunshine than the UK average because we have a micro-climate, thus there is the local award winning Abbotsbury Sub-Tropical Gardens. Nearby are Weymouth and Portland with the Sailing Academy in one direction or West Bay, venue for 'Broadchurch' and the nearby lovely golf course, and Lyme Regis in the other (see useful website gps-routes), or visitors to the many beautiful gardens in the area, including the Abbotsbury Sub-Tropical Gardens. There is also the Swannery here where the cygnets are due to hatch during early May. This is a charming and vibrant village to relax in, with quaint houses, country walks and is on the famous Jurassic Coast Path as well as the Ridgeway path. There are beautiful walks to St Catherine's Chapel, the Fleet and the coast. Our part of the Chesil beach is used extensively by fishermen, but is unsuitable for swimming, and from there you can walk along the shore for miles. On the way you might find a fossil! If you are interested in surfing or sailing the well known Sailing Academy is about a twenty minute drive away, and we can store your equipment in our barn overnight. Abbotsbury is unusual because although small, (only about a hundred cottages) it has a number of thriving businesses: a fabulous farm shop selling local meat, cheeses, butter & eggs, two shops; two pubs; teashops serving delicious Dorset cream teas or apple cake; an art gallery, Dansel, well known for a large range of local craftsmen's products in wood; a post office; and a bus, X53, service running between Exeter and Poole, via Lyme Regis, Bridport - a pleasant market town, West Bay and Weymouth, a 200 years old seaside resort. Suppers or lunches at the Ilchester Arms pub or the Swan Inn, both a few doors away, or a short drive to the Manor House at West Bexington, and village pubs at Punkenowle, Langton Herring or Burton Bradstock. The nearest towns are: Dorchester, Bridport, Weymouth, West Bay, each about eleven miles away. Slightly further along the coast are Charmouth and Lyme Regis, Durdle Door, Lulworth, Wool, Wareham. Further inland are well known places such as Cerne Abbas, Mapperton, Forde Abbey, Beaminster. Thomas Hardy has long association with this county, as he lived and wrote here, and set his novels and poems around rural life in the lovely farming countryside and small market towns. Sorry, we can't accommodate children under seven years old as there is a small stream in the garden and an ungated driveway, besides which our house is not well adapted for toddlers. Also sorry we don't accept pets. There is ample parking on our driveway behind the house.
The highlights: The beauty of the countryside made world famous by Thomas Hardy; the dramatic coastal views and walks; the mild sub-tropical weather; the ancient sites in the landscape from bronze age, the Roman invasion right the way through to WW2; our lovely farm shop which supplies very locally sourced food; fresh fish caught locally off Portland Bill, and available in many nearby restaurants; a post office and village shop open every day including Sundays and Christmas Day; two pubs. A lively church, remainder from the old Abbey site, where many weddings take place, and one can hear the bell ringers practice at least once a week. A nearby popular wedding/party barn.
  • Barbara and her husband are a lovely couple with a gorgeous house. We had a short stay (one night) when we visited the Jurassic Coast for a fossil hunting trip. The house was lovely and our room/bath room were nice and clean. The breakfast in the morning was good and we had nice chats! Barbara gave us helpful tips were to go and what to see (the little chapel on the hill in Abbotsbury is worth a visit and you gave a great view). Thank you and I definitely recommend Barbara's Airbnb!

  • Splendid b&b with very hospitable couple!

    Floris2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, stormy weather prevented me from getting to Abbotsbury to actually stay with Barbara's place, so I can't review the actual place (though I feel pretty certain it is lovely). What I can do though, is review how lovely it was to deal with Barbara. She's very flexible, reasonable and kind!

    Suzy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara and Peter are excellent hosts and we look forward to a return visit sometime soon. Their house is charming and the location is perfect for visiting this lovely part of Dorset.

    Guy2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara's home is charming and so is she. We had a lovely room and the bathroom was sparking clean with thoughtful items for our use if we needed them. Breakfast suited us very well with home made jam and fresh fruit.

    Lyn2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Warm hospitality in a village with plenty to see (and the stunning coastal path).

    Cath2019-09-18T00:00:00Z

Our farm is in a beautiful location, next door to a working cheese dairy. It has the benefit of market towns nearby. Is also close to beaches along Jurassic Coast and so a perfect spot for seeing the sites that Dorset has to offer or for just sitting and watching life on the farm go by. We have two very friendly dogs called Ruby and Honey.

Hygge garden cabin with lovely views. No cars or buildings in sight. At night you’ll drift off to lowing cows and tinkling stream. Walk through our unspoilt village of Swyre, to the beach where you can hop in the sea or simply admire the Jurassic coast. To fill a rainy day, try eating all that foodie Dorset has to offer or head to a pub for a Palmers ale, before staggering home to snuggle in front of a blazing fire. The cabin is nestled at the foot of our house. It faces into a meadow beneath.
The bathroom has a rain fall shower and underfloor heating. The kitchen is fine for chilling your wine, making a cuppa and toasting your tea cakes! For top notch grub, there are pubs within walking distance. The ceiling is quite low (193cm/6ft4 at the lowest point), so the tallest amongst you will, I'm afraid, want to remain seated or lying down (!) The garden is shared with us. Neighbouring garden also has room for two more guests at The Snug, coming soon but not yet listed on Airb&b. I'm morally opposed to ironing bedsheets-well ironing anything to be honest. All sheets will be washed beautifully and line-dried but may have the odd wrinkle. Please note that we do not have any cooking facilities, nor do we have any intention of getting any because we don't have the time to clean them and because I know they can make a place smell!
Our beautiful village of Swyre is unspoilt and largely unknown by holiday makers heading for the coast. Our nearest beach is therefore pretty quiet, even on the busiest bank holiday, especially if you can walk 1.5 miles through the fields.
  • Absolutely perfect stay, beautiful cabin-took our breath away when we walked in. Such lovely touches like fresh baked bread delivered to your door in the morning and the fire lit for when we arrived. Perfect location for exploring nearby towns like west bay , Bridport and Lyme Regis. Amazing view to wake up to, so tranquil and relaxing, we will definitely return!

    Hannah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant stay. Everything as described, hosts great. Fresh bread for breakfast was a nice touch. Perfect location for walks to beach and afar.

    Julia2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing place to escape for a weekend. Such a great space and within walking distance of the sea. Amazing hospitality and even got some freshly baked bread in the morning.

    Alexander & Laura2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely lovely. We didn't want to leave! The beautiful views of rolling hills and sheep, the wood fire, the freshly baked bread brought to us by the lovely hosts in the morning, sheepskin rugs and candles... Heaven on long winter mornings and evenings. Very close to the beach and some beautiful walks. Could have stayed here for far longer than we did!

    Leilia2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is absolutely beautiful - it’s really got that wow factor, especially with the amazing log burner. Impressive bathroom with a rainforest shower. Fresh bread in the morning was a lovely gesture and we also had crisps, butter, jam, milk, fudge and mince pies laid out for us. Couldn’t recommend enough!

    Ellen2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful two night stay in this fabulous cabin. So cosy, clean and a perfect place to unwind. The fresh bread in the morning is a lovely touch! If we are ever in the area again we will definitely be booking another stay.

    Emily2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Would not hesitate to recommend this property. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay over xmas, the photos don't do it complete justice, the property and surrounding area is even better than we expected - particularly as we arrived late on xmas eve, to find the log fire already lit, ready for us. As wonderful as the property is, the hosting still managed to stand out further. Kitty maintained good regular contact prior to arriving and was really helpful with a problem we had on the website. Throughout the stay, nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel like family, rather than guests, by Magnus. On top of a number of festive treats left for us, we were even provided with fresh home-made bread on xmas day! Our only negative was having to leave. This property and the hosting sets a standard that most won't get close to. Thanks both!

    Ali2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin. The pictures do not even do it justice. Peaceful and beautifully arranged. The log burner was a dream on a cold winter's evening! Kitty brought freshly baked bread the next morning.

  • This is a fabulous find. All your home comforts and more. The place is spotless and very well decorated and all the extra touches from Michele make this a special place to stay no matter the weather.

  • What a magical place . The Shepherds Hut is special without the added extras provided by Michele but they made it a cut above other places we have stayed . The setting is outstanding although storm Dennis was a little too close for comfort at times ! The hut itself is beautifully made and is calm cosy and spotlessly clean . We will be back ! Kate and Andy

    Kate2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The shepherds hut is stunning. Michele’s touches made our stay extra special. The local produce and home made goodies were a real treat. Michele was very accommodating especially as I am vegan. Even Storm Dennis with ragging last night, we felt warm and cosy. We will be making a return trip. Highly recommended.

    Sandra2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely overnight stay at the Shepherd’s Hut. It’s really high-quality & the tasty treats provided were much appreciated. We had chosen the same weekend to visit the coast as Storm Dennis had, though the hut was cosy & warm so absolutely no worries there.

  • Michele's shepherds hut is absolutely fantastic. A very short walk to the sea, we enjoyed it immensely. All the little personal touches make it the cosiest place to stay. We had dinner at The Club House at the end of the road, excellent food. Can't recommend the shepherds hut enough :)

  • Beautiful hut. Perfect place to relax and listen to the sea.

  • What a fantastic place to stay. Such a great Shepherds Hut, it is like a Tardis!!! We arrived in heavy rain and tick fog.....met with fresh cake, croissants, bread, milk, fresh Orange juice and a full range of tea and coffee etc.....then lit the log burner!!! A great stay from start to finish. It is spotlessly clean, everything you need is there. The hut itself is such a quality piece of work , you can t help but love it. ...And all this 100 yards from the sea. Highly recommended.

  • If you are looking for a relaxing get away from the hussle and bussle of work and city life then the Shepherds Hut is the place to go. Situated on the coast this getaway allows you to get away from it all, it is peaceful and tranquil. The hut has character and everything you require for your stay. The log burner is great! Michelle is a great host and provides home made treats. I would truly recommend this place to all. You will not be disappointed!

  • We love AirBnB. the locations, the people running it, and the great value for money. But we are sad we have to leave our dog, Sam, behind. not any more. Mark and Julie are not only OK with you bringing your dog(s), they love it. They made us and Sam so welcome (even a little treat bowl in the bedroom, nice touch Mark) You get loads of space to relax, a well-stocked kitchen, and time for a natter. Mark and Julie, you are lovely hosts, we will be back!

  • I stayed at Julie and Mark's cottage the night before my short fossil hunting trip to Burton Bradstock's beach, and I couldn't have been treated better. Julie and Mark are wonderful hosts, they made me feel like at home, visiting some friends, although it was my first time to meet them. Place was sparkling clean, with much more than I needed for my short one night stay. It was nice to relax after my long drive there, having a glass of wine and a nice chat with this lovely couple, before to sleep. Room was great and comfy and the following morning the include breakfast was all I needed before to head to the beach. Thank you so much, surely I'll stay at yours whenever I decide to come again. And, btw I found some interesting fossils in the end :-) Paolo

  • Anne’s caravan was in a lovely quiet park, just a couple of minutes from the beach. The space was clean and tidy and Anne had left us some bread, milk and scones for our arrival. The dogs enjoyed their stay and we had a great time fishing from the beach in the afternoons. Would definitely recommend this caravan! Thanks Anne!

  • Had a lovely short break in West Bexington. Weather wasn't great but that was out of everyone's control. It was so nice to have such a clean, cozy place to hanker down. Anne really went the extra mile to make us comfortable. We will definitely be making plans to come again.

    Natasha2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to stay. A lovely clean caravan in a great location with amazing views. The only downside was no internet with a teenager! You can buy some in reception, we didn’t and it actually turned out to be a very good thing and we had a wonderful time without it. A great place to chill out and relax and do as much or as little as you want. We will definitely be back.

    Julie2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We have had an amazing time in Anne’s caravan. We arrived after a long journey to find the caravan spotlessly clean it’s really lovely & spacious inside. Anne had also left us milk, bread & scones which was a wonderful surprise. The caravan had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable & the kids slept in most days which they never do at home! The site is clean, nice & quiet & perfect for dogs. The walk to beach takes about 10-15 mins it’s a quiet stretch of pebble beach, not really suitable for swimming in when we visited as the sea was too rough there. West bay is about a 10 min car journey away & would highly recommend going there, lovely sea side town with a great sandy beach beach perfect for the kids to swim in. We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you Anne x

  • Anne was helpful regarding booking and check in. The caravan itself was spotless, it looked brand new inside and had everything you needed including loads of dvds, games and books plus a lovely touch of bread, milk, scones and lollies in the freezer. The site is quiet and couldn't have better views. There are no entertainments etc which is our preference, just a small shop and lovely countryside. It is a 10 minute walk across fields to Chesil Beach which isn't suitable for swimming here but is a beautiful spot. Weymouth is a 25 minute drive and there are quieter beaches nearby including Cogden Beach where we had a whole stretch to ourselveswhich was perfect forour nervous rescue dog. Lots of places to visit within a short drive and a pub within walking distance. Highly recommended, thanks Anne

  • Very quiet and clean 4-star campsite, set back on the coast; beautiful sea view from the caravan, generous, cozy and clean - luxurious camping holidays on a quiet place (no children's playground oä - rather older people). But near many great attractions, beautiful beaches and of course in the middle of the Jurassic Coast! I can highly recommend, especially for families with children, who also can talk well;)

Enjoy beautiful sea views of the Jurassic Coast from our lovely bedroom with king size bed and en-suite bathroom. Located in the village of West Bexington, surrounded by unspoilt countryside in walking distance to the Chesil beach. We offer our guests a comfortable stay in tranquil West Dorset.
Two Wings is our family home in the small coastal village of West Bexington between Burton Bradstock and Abbotsbury, thirteen miles west of Dorchester and Weymouth and six miles south east of Bridport and West Bay. The village is on a hill that slopes down to the unspoilt Chesil Beach. On a clear day views extend from Portland Bill in the east, around Lyme Bay including Golden Cap (the highest cliff in the south of England), past the red cliffs of Devon, across to Dartmoor and right round to Start Point in the west.
We are surrounded by fields which are part of Tamarisk Farm, which was amongst the first farms certified by the Soil Association and has been growing wholesome organic food since the 1960s. West Bexington has a small coastal reserve which offers a welcome resting place for a wide range of migrant bird species, and a permanent home for a host of interesting wildlife, butterflies and moths. It is a popular area for walkers, with West Bexington being situated on the Jurassic coast section of the South West coast path. The famous Chesil bank is a well known fishing beach. In walking distance from our home is the Manor hotel, a relaxed 16th century Manor house overlooking the sea with restaurant , pub, al fresco terrace and gardens. Another popular restaurant in the village is The Club House which focusses on locally sourced fish and produce .

  • The photos do not do justice to this special place; I'm wary of writing too much as I'd prefer to keep it secret!! Sue and Henry were perfect hosts, welcoming us and our dog Wilf on arrival. The room was large with the most fabulous views over Chesil Beach - Sue had thoughtfully provided fresh milk on arrival so we could have a cuppa on the little terrace in the sunshine before we went on a beautiful walk. The bed was super comfortable and the large bathroom immaculate and well equipped, as was the room with thoughtful little touches like cookies and a toaster for the morning. We walked to the Manor House pub and had a delicious supper and then had the most enormous continental breakfast delivered in the morning by Sue, very high quality ingredients and much appreciated. We will definitely be back to this charming village and to stay in what felt like a luxury hotel suite.

  • Returned from a winter weekend at Sue and Henry's place. Having read many of the reviews my expectations were very high, and certainly we were not let down. A great location - near excellent restaurants, the beach and wonderful walks from the door step. Sue and Henry were very friendly and helpful with good recommendations for walks and restaurants. The breakfast was excellent, delivered to the door at 8. It was too cold to sit outside but we were happy to enjoy the spectacular views from the comfort of the lovely bedroom. Highly recommended.

    Di2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful relaxing break here for 2 nights. The place is right on the coast, is very comfortable and Sue offers a generous continental breakfast in the morning to enjoy at your leisure. We've already decided we need to come back for longer as there's so many nice walks! Plenty of good pubs and food around and a Michellin Star fish restaurant a 10 min walk away! Would highly recommend staying here.

Abbeystone Cottage is a traditional 17th Century cottage situated in a picturesque Dorset village that lies on the magnificent Jurassic Coast, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With original features such as a large fireplace and woodburner, wooden floors and beams it offers a tranquil escape to the country. Within easy walking distance of many amenities and attractions within the beautiful village it is also surrounded by stunning countryside and lies only a mile from Chesil Beach.
Abbeystone Cottage is a cosy cottage with low ceilings and a traditional yet modern feel. Downstairs is a large living room with beautiful stone fireplace, said to have been built using stone from the nearby abbey. There is a separate sunroom for dining, and a modern kitchen and downstairs bathroom with bath and shower over. Upstairs is a separate toilet and two bedrooms with pretty views over the back garden and main street. Outside is a small garden with both a grass and patio area with table and chairs for enjoying the sun! The kitchen is well equipped with microwave, washing machine and fridge freezer but there are plenty of lovely places to eat out locally.
The village of Abbotsbury is very pretty made up entirely of traditional stone and some thatched cottages. There are a selection of tea rooms to choose from, two pubs, art galleries and a shop. There is also the amazing Abbotsbury Botanical Gardens that have a wonderful October event - The Enchanted Illuminations, and Swannery within easy walking distance as well as a children's farm. The Dorset Coastal Path is virtually on the door step and many excellent fishing spots along the beach can be found close by. Just a short drive away (with some stunning views of the coast) you can visit the fishing harbour of West Bay with it's many places to eat and drink. Next to West Bay is the bustling market town of Bridport which has everything you would need including large supermarkets, chemists and a weekly market. In the other direction lies Weymouth with many restaurants, shops and bars and it's famous sea front.
  • This is the perfect base to walk to the local beach or drive to Lyme Regis, West Bay or any of the other local sites you wish to visit. Great to get back and put the log burner on.

  • Superb value for money cottage in the heart of Abbotsbury village right ont eh high street. Just 5 second walk to the farm shop, 20 seconds to the pub, 45 seconds to tea rooms and 60 seconds to the Spar shop. Add in the numerous dog walks, local rev field and kids play area, church, old chapel, wonderfully friendly locals, beautiful countryside and houses, this village has it all. Naomi’s cottage is cute and warm with log burner and central heating. Very clean, comfy and cosy, and has all the kitchen essentials covered. The dogs had plenty of space to relax after the long wet walks, and the spare dog blankets came in handy when we’d soaked through our own drying them both! Nice hot shower/ bath in the lovely bathroom at the back of the kitchen. Comfy firm mattresses and plenty of quality pillows. The TV, range of DVDs, board games and WiFi were useful for the wet weekend we had! Only odd thing was lack of blinds in the bathrooms, especially the upstairs toilet which has a low clear window right behind the toilet. Very revealing for night time trips to the loo! Fortunately the little garden is fully enclosed all round so hopefully no voyeurs caught a cheeky flash. Would throughly recommend Naomi’s cottage for couples or a small family!

    James2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend, nine-month-old son and I had a lovely three-night stay in Abbeystone Cottage. It’s a great space for a small family to use as a base when exploring the area and we really made the most of the living area, as the big sofas blocked some routes off for our crawling son!! Some of the floors upstairs are slightly sloped and the doorways are quite low, but you soon adapt. It’s nice and quirky rather than any inconvenience. It was very cold when we were there (early Feb) so we used the heating a lot and found that the downstairs bathroom remained cold. Again, not the end of the world and we still gelt comfortable bathing our son in there, it just means the floors are very cold and you’d be wise to have clothes ready on one of the radiators for when you come out. As others have mentioned, the shower lacks power but does the job, so isn’t an issue for a short stay. We loved our time in Abbotsbury, it’s very picturesque, and will look into a return visit in a few years time. Also: We cooked breakfasts and dinners in the cottage and made the most of the farm shop two doors down (great bacon, sausages and longhorn burgers!) and Spar round the corner for essentials. Both pubs in the village are nice, though we spent more time in the Ilchester Arms and would strongly recommend visitors do the 1.25 mile walk to Chesil Beach down the pathway alongside Spar. The scenery is spectacular in parts and it’s only a bit muddy (don’t bring the buggy!! We used a papoose).

  • We love staying here. It's spacious, cosy, in a great location and there's a pub and farm shop within 30 seconds! The perfect place for a cosy winter break and exploring the coast!

  • A charming little cottage, clean, tidy and cosy, with everything you might need for a comfortable stay, checking in was a breeze. Well situated in picturesque Abbotsbury, a little farm shop right next door for stocking up on good quality local produce, and a nice pub across the road to relax in. Bring your walking boots as there are some stunning walks through the hills and along the beaches. If you have time, a short drive to Seatown to do a spot of fossil hunting on the beach there, followed by lunch in the Anchor Inn is highly recommended. It was our second visit here, so thanks Naomi for having us again, we’ll definitely return again soon. Lovely touch putting the Christmas tree up in the living room! Alex & Katy

The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric cooker and hob, fridge, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and coffee machine. Teas, coffee and continental breakfast provided. It is all newly refurbished and furnished to a high standard. Please note that our location and situation can affect WiFi strength.
The house is situated in a quiet area just on the outskirts of Bridport and only a 10-15 minute walk from a thriving market town famous for rope and net making dating back centuries. The town with restaurants, pubs and a variety of craft shops and outlets has a busy and friendly vibe. We are about a 1 mile from the picturesque harbour at West Bay with restaurants and beaches which is central to the famous Jurassic coast. There are some fabulous walks right on the doorstep.
  • I had a fantastic short break staying in the Annexe. It was easy enough to find the property using the directions sent over by Pete, plenty of parking on the driveway. Lovely welcome from Pete who took me round the annexe and showed my how everything worked. The annexe itself is stylish, spacious and very clean. Breakfast hamper is always a lovely touch. Prime location for exploring the Dorset countryside, particularly worth heading over to Burton Bradstock, West Bay and Lyme Regis. I’ll definitely be returning on my next Dorset adventure!

  • This was our second stay in The Annexe and once again we were very comfortable and well provided for. The Annexe is lovely; beautifully clean and nicely furnished, with milk and some food items left for us. Peter welcomed us when we arrived and afterwards he and Linda provided that great balance of allowing us privacy but with the assurance we could contact them at any time if we had any queries or needed help. The location is ideal for us; Bridport within walking distance, pretty villages and other areas to explore and some lovely walks. The break provided us with much needed relaxation and a breath of sea air. We shall be back.

    Stephen2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Linda was infact a SUPER HOST! The hamper was a lovely touch. Ste our fabricator enjoyed his stay and said himself it was ''So much better than a hotel, a home from home whilst away with work'' Thankyou again!

    Graham2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Linda and Peters annexe and felt instantly at home as soon as Peter welcomed us in. The space itself is very cosy and was spotlessly clean and fresh with everything you need for a great stay. Linda and Peter also left some lovely extras in the kitchen which were much appreciated, and stocked the bathroom with toiletry essentials. We also found the location great being half way between Weymouth and Lyme Regis, and would recommend the Bothenhampton nature reserve walk on the doorstep, which has beautiful views over West Bay. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again or recommend to others.

The cabin is simple but snug and beautifully positioned to make the most of the lovely rural views. There's a bedroom, bathroom and patio. No space for a kitchen but there are lots of great pubs and restaurants within walking distance, and guests are welcome to have picnics, BBQs and fires. The garden leads down to meadows and a track leads down to the beach (1.5 miles). Going on foot usually guarantees you'll have it pretty much to yourself, especially during the week.
A simple but cosy summer house in spacious gardens nestled in Dorset's beautiful Bride Valley. Just 1.5 miles from the stunning Jurassic Coast, the Snug is serene and quiet with easy access to all the beauty West Dorset has to offer. Access to the cabin is through a shared drive and garden so the chances are you'll bump into someone en route. We have children, and there's children's play equipment in the garden.
Swyre is a small village in West Dorset on the Jurassic Coast. There are 3 pubs within walking distance, along with a great local farm shop at Modbury. The lovely town of Bridport is 6 miles down the coast, accessible by car or by bus. The county town of Dorchester is 13 miles to the East, where there are train stations serving London and Bristol. I work in Dorchester so let me know if you need lifts to or from the station and I'm sure we'll be able to help.
  • We had the most lovely stay at The Snug. It was the perfect place to stay at whilst we were visiting the coast. It was absolutely sparkling clean and so cosy and warm. The view across the garden and fields was beautiful. It had everything we needed too. Such great value for money. I've spent a lot more money on hotel rooms which were no way near as lovely as The Snug. We will definitely stay there again when we visit the coast. Thank you for making our little weekend getaway a bit more special.

    Helen2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Really secluded, really beautiful. Just what I needed. The view from the bed was beautiful. Thank you!

    Natasha2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely people and a lovely, cozy place! I had a warm welcome and a delightful night in the Snug (as well as a tasty meal at the Crown). I was initially concerned because I was without a car, but it was a quick easy walk from the bus stop and a perfect location for a walk to Abbotsbury the next day. I'd happily recommend to anyone doing a trip through Dorset.

    Steven2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for a wonderful. Peaceful cozy stay. Will definitely stop again. A short drive to everywhere of interest. A lovely little pad

  • Perfect place, amazing view, super comfortable in all aspect! Becky and John are really nice and helpful!

    Naomi2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at The Snug, a perfect spot for two, peaceful and beautiful. It was relaxing to not use the car, as we walked to The Crown and discovered the paths around about. We had 2 great meals cooked on the firepit/BBQ. Very touched to return after walking back through the evening fields to find you'd lit the tea lights through the garden and there was a roaring fire in the firepit. It was a perfect welcome home.

    Juliet2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great little spot. Everything you need and all incredibly clean and comfortable :)

    Dom2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The Snug is the perfect getaway for beautiful views, peace and quiet. The cosy cabin has everything you need, it’s clean, well presented and the cold beers in the fridge on arrival are a great touch. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

This small double ensuite accommodation is located just 100yards from the historic Jurassic coast. It is only one room and NO cooking facilities, however there is a mini fridge, electric kettle and a toaster. Totally self contained There is WiFi but because of the thickness of the walls the signal is best by the doorway
    It's closeness to the sea
100yards from the coast path. Also the Hive beach cafe. And the newly furnished Seaside Boarding House
  • Mags and Chu are the most amazing hosts. They went above and beyond to get the room ready for me, even though they had come from a long haul flight. The room, as others have suggested is bigger than it looks and has everything you need. It’s warm and cosy and the with such great pubs and cafes around, I was very glad I didn’t have cooking facilities, although the fridge is just right for milk etc. The beach path is opposite the door and the two minute walk to the sea is a delight. Such a beautiful area and such kind, genuine people, I can’t wait to go back very soon. Thank you for being wonderful hosts and making me feel so welcome. See you soon!

    Honey2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Mags's place for the weekend as we were running a race along the Jurassic Coast. The en-suite room is close to the village centre and in a very nice setting. Easy to get to pubs, shop and the beach. The room is comfy and had everything we needed for a short stay. I would recommend Mags's place for a short stay to explore this area of Dorset.

    Amy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little place - great value for money. Mags is a great host and very thoughtful. Short walk up the hill to the coast path. Breakfast was a really nice touch too. We will be back!

  • Good for walks & not far from a beach

    Norman2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Just what it says: a room with en suite plus all you need for breakfast, and a wonderful location. We’ll be back.

    Rachel2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Mags’ place is in a lovely location, was easy to find and we were greeted by some thoughtful touches too; breakfast and drinks. Great value.

  • A great find perfectly situated in Burton Bradstock. Our friends couldn’t quite believe it when we said we were 5 minutes walk a cross a field to the beach! They were all very jealous. Especially as they had all paid twice as much for very ordinary b&b etc much further afield!

    Alan2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit to Mags place. It’s in a beautiful location with good pubs, restaurants and a beautiful coast line. The shower has also improved since our last visit. Would recommend a visit.

  • Our stay was absolutely lovely. The location was really great, 20 minutes drive to Weymouth sea front and 15 minutes drive to West Bay. The cottage itself was gorgeous, really cosy and friendly with little cute touches. I was concerned we'd be cold, especially in March but the fireplace was lovely and warm. Very comfortable bed and just an all round really lovely set up. We'd be very keen to stay again!

Pier Terrace, one of many listed buildings within the historic harbour area of West Bay, enjoys a stunning location on the UNESCO World Heritage designated Jurassic Coast. 'Jurassic View', our cosy top-floor harbourside apartment offers beautiful sea and coastal views from every window. Just a short stroll from the beach and within easy reach of local shops, pubs and restaurants, the apartment is ideally situated for a relaxing stay in this breathtakingly scenic part of Dorset.
Steve and April offer you a warm welcome to 'Jurassic View'. The apartment comprises an entrance hall, lounge, kitchen/diner, double bedroom and bathroom with central heating throughout. There is a phone entry security system located in the hall. The fully-equipped kitchen includes an electric oven and hob with extractor hood over, microwave oven and integrated fridge, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The bathroom has a thermostatic shower over the bath, fed by a pressurised water system. The bedroom has a double bed and built-in wardrobe. There is a TV and audio system in the lounge, with free wireless internet throughout the apartment. Prices include all linen, towels and electricity.
The bustling harbour shelters a variety of small fishing boats, yachts and motorboats. A range of leisure trips and cruises is available from here. The nearby Jurassic Pier offers panoramic views of the coast stretching 100 miles from Portland in the East to Start Point in Devon, to the West. The grade 2 listed Customs House is now an Emporium with over a hundred traders offering unique gifts, collectables, memorabilia, designer furniture and much more. The quirky cafe, offering good food and refreshments in a relaxed, friendly environment, is a favourite of ours. Slader's Yard art gallery, housed in an old Georgian rope warehouse, shows varied exhibitions of contemporary British art and crafts. We always admire the unique hand-made wooden furniture, built using traditional boat-building techniques. The nearby Bridport and West Dorset Golf Club, situated on top of East Cliff, offers stunning clifftop views and scenery. The breathtaking 6th hole, perched on the cliff edge, has been voted one of the top 100 holes in the world! The nearby town of Bridport offers a wide range of shops and services. The twice-weekly street market has been a regular feature of life since 1253 when Henry III granted the town a Royal Charter. Bridport's Electric Palace, a beautiful Art Deco theatre retaining many of its original features, presents a varied programme of film, music , theatre and live entertainment. It's worth a visit just to admire the stunning murals! Palmer's Brewery, the only thatched brewery in England, offers a fascinating 2-hour tour of the brewery culminating in a tasting session. Available Easter until the end of October.
  • A cosy flat with everything you need. Fitted kitchen with pots, pans & crockery if you don’t go out to eat. Great powerful shower. Comfortable bed. Lovely gift of wine, biscuits & milk when we arrived too. West Bay isn’t the biggest place but there are some lovely pubs to visit & beautiful views. Shame we couldn’t get a booking at the Station Kitchen, that looks awesome. You must check out 100 Nautical, a micro pub, tucked away, but such a great find if you like craft ale, cider & they sell spirits too. Perfectly located near the South West coastal path. Be warned it’s uphill to start!! You can easily walk to Bridport too, along the old railway line. Bridport is a bustling town which had a vintage market on Saturday when we went. A lovely trip & lovely property.

  • Excellent location, yards from the beach, harbour, and the cafe's and shops of West Bay. Our trip coincided with strorm Dennis and the apartment was a lovely, cosy refuge to retire to after a day in the elements. Very well equiped. Arrived to find some biscuits and wine which was a welcoming touch. All in all a very pleasant stay.

  • It was a treat to stay at Kelly's place this weekend: I can recommend the location (close to lots of places to visit), and the accommodation itself is both snug and super clean. Kelly's communication was clear and prompt, and she even left a couple of birthday brownies for us to enjoy on arrival. A great place for a weekend stay.

    Charlotte2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed two days at Kelly' s place in January and found it perfect for our needs.... very clean & private with everything we needed and in a great location for sightseeing and walks and added bonus of the logburner although there is central heating as well. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

    Matthew2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very spacious and nicely decorated. Fantastic sea views and only a few minutes walk down to the beach and to a few local restaurant. It was much nicer than we expected - the pictures don’t really do it justice. The lemon loaf was a nice touch and little things like tissues, games, first aid kit etc were appreciated :)

    Breanne2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great house to stay in, especially with brining the dog. The garden was a great space to throw the frisbee/ball around in and it was lovely to be able to walk quite literally down the road to the beach to have a swim. Loads of great places to visit only a short drive away. We really enjoyed ourselves and very much appreciated the delicious lemon drizzle cake on arrival. Thank you very much for a memorable stay!

    Hannah2019-09-10T00:00:00Z

  • Just heading home after a great week at Sunshine Cottage. 7 of us had a lovely time away. Great location, sea views, a fantastic restaurant and fab pub a couple of minutes walk away. Car needed but only short trips to supermarket, and other lovely nearby towns to visit, Lyme Regis being one of our favourite! The communication with housekeeper Jacqui was good, getting back to us with a couple of questions we had. We would all definitely recommend Sunshine Cottage to family and friends.

Cosy toes is a small but perfectly formed cabin, we are situated in a quiet estate on the fringes of the historic market town of Bridport. We are a 15 minute walk from the working harbour of West Bay, which, of course, is where the award winning drama "Broadchurch " was filmed, it has plenty of good eating establishments and quaint shops. 15 minutes the other way is the bustling town of Bridport with its twice weekly markets as well as regular farmer markets, along with many local shops. The nearest pub is a 5 minute walk and the nearest supermarket is 2 minutes in the car. Nearby you have Lyme Regis, Weymouth and many other lovely places. The coastal paths offer you many magnificent view points.
I love living where I do as it is so quiet but you can literally walk 5 minutes to find fun and laughter in the local pubs and also we are surrounded by beautiful countryside, I love walking out my front door and looking across to the iconic trees on Colmers Hill, stunning.
  • Perfectly located only about 15 minutes to either West Bay or Bridport. The area is stunning and Tracy's place was a perfect little getaway. She was always fast to respond and we enjoyed our warm (cosy of course) little cabin.

  • My partner and I have just returned from a one nights stay for New Year in Tracy’s cabin. Tracy was a lovely host very friendly and welcoming. She recommended a local pub and even drove us there, then into town and back again, as we were unable to book a taxi. The cabin is beautifully kept, tastefully done and very warm and cosy as per the name. It is in an ideal location for West Bay and Bridport. We will definitely be back in the warmer weather.

  • We had a lovely time at this cosy cottage. It's small but perfectly formed, very comfortable for a small family to stay in for a long weekend and full of light even in the relative grey of a British February. The house is in a beautiful and peaceful village. Really felt like we were getting away from it all. Would definitely be happy to stay again.

Being close to a nice pub and a farm stock shopped with good food completes the experience of staying in this pretty village. There are lots of interesting places to visit nearby (even in the rain), and in fine weather probably some good hikes from the door. We definitely recommend staying at Samphire Cottage!

  • Charming house. Very clean. In a quiet village close to the coast. Enough equipment to cook your own meals. One big bright bedroom and a very small second bedroom that is good for kids.

  • You can expect a warm welcome and a beautiful place to stay

  • This is one of the best AirBnB places we have been to so far. A beautiful cottage with everything you need for a perfect holiday, in a lovely village not far from the sea. We enjoyed every minute, and the hospitality was great! We would love to come back again!

  • A cosy, comfortable cottage in an ideal location. Trevor and Julie were very welcoming and ensured our stay was perfect. If you want a break from cooking the local pub is a two minute walk with a good varied menu and great service.

The Crown Inn is a beautiful 16th century thatched pub situated in the village of Puncknowle (pronounced Punnel), a stones throw away from the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. There's plenty to do all year round, whether you are relaxing in the large beer garden with stunning views on a hot summers day, enjoying an award winning local ale in the bar next to the log burner or tucking into some traditional locally sourced dishes straight from our kitchen.
Large Double room with en-suite bathroom with walk in shower. Views over St Mary's church yard. You can pre-book a continental or cooked breakfast at an extra charge.
The Crown Inn is situated in the small village of Puncknowle just over a mile from the World Heritage Site the Jurassic Coast.
  • Charming hotel, best moules frites in UK, super comfy bed and very nice bathroom.

  • Anna’s place is a really lovely pub with great people. The food was really good. The service was lovely. Our room was fantastic and very private. It was wonderful to see locals come in and out.... the pub is plainly a treasured asset in the village. It was the holiday season, but blissfully free of crowds and so a good place to holiday from. I highly recommend this tucked away gem by the sea.

We have a private large double room with en suite shower room. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room with homemade shortbread and TV. We are a five minute walk to Hive Beach were you will find an award winning cafe and plenty of opportunity for walking or just sitting and watching the sun go down. We are within a short walk of about five minutes to the south west coast path right on the Jurassic Coast. We provide breakfast too.
We provide breakfast consisting of various cereals or homemade granola, fresh fruit and yoghurt, toast with jam, marmalade or marmite and tea or coffee. This can be taken in the kitchen. We also provide an area for you to sit and relax.

The ensuite room was very clean and tidy, the bed very comfy, Sue provided coffee, tea and delicous self made biscuits for us. The breakfast was just lovely with fresh berries, homemade granola, warm rolls and a selection of jams and yogurts. The beach is just around the corner and amazingly beautiful, we definitely would have liked to stay longer and enjoy the Dorset coast!

Bride Valley Studio is a light, spacious retreat for 2, the perfect place for a romantic getaway. The bedroom has a kingsize bed and a single bed (moveable). Studio 6x5m with kitchen and sofa bed, so can also sleep 2 children. Furnished to allow space for yoga/art etc. Studio is 15m from our house with own entrance, patio and parking, large shared garden. This is a very quiet spot with fields on 3 sides, a mile from Burton Bradstock, ideal for walking, cycling, relaxing and Hive Beach.
Our studio is a pet free, timber framed new build using natural materials and paints. At night, there is almost no light pollution or noise. All the appliances and beds were new when the studio was finished in summer 2017 - including dishwasher and washing machine. Both beds have quality John Lewis mattresses. The lane has very little traffic so it is safe to walk (or cycle) the mile into the village, where both pubs serve great food and drink. Hive Beach, with its famous cafe, is a mile and a half away also, either across the fields or through the village.
This a rural location with fields to the north, east and south, on a very quiet lane. Great for birdwatching and wildlife spotting! Burton Bradstock is a mile away, as is our favourite Farm shop at Modbury. Hive Beach Cafe is renowned for its seafood and beach views, about a mile walk across the fields or slightly longer by road. West Bay -3 miles drive or walk- is a typical English seaside location: the best place for fish and chips and local organic ice cream.
  • An excellent and comfortable base from which to go on long seaside walks and eat delicious fare at the local pubs. Very nice hosts too.a

  • We absolutely loved our stay in the studio. It's such a wonderfully simple place and it is perfect for escaping the stresses of the city. The space is toasty warm and so quiet that all you can hear are the birds (and an occasional tractor). Make sure to visit the amazing Modbury farm shop and the Hive Beach Cafe. We are in love with the area and will be back!

  • Lovely studio in a quiet rural location. A peaceful part of the world.

    Kevin2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely property, bright, spacious and airy. Very modern with all the equipment you could need. Fantastic power shower. Quiet, remote location with lots of walking in the area.

  • What a find! Steve and Ali's modern studio is highly recommended. Surprisingly spacious, in a quiet rural location, this place oozes peace. The welcome pack was lovely as were the hosts. Thanks for the direction on walking to Hive Beech and Burton Bradstock. And with West Bay, Bridport, Seatown and Golden Cap nearby too, Dorset once again cast It's spell. Thank you both for a wonderful stay.

    Garry2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for three nights in Ali and Steve’s lodge which is set in the grounds of their beautiful family home. The lodge is private whilst close to the house should you need to contact Ali or Steve. Both were very welcoming on arrival and a welcome pack of eggs , milk and biscuits were a welcome surprise. The lodge was well furnished and very clean, there is a patio area with table and chairs and parking at the front of the property. Bridport and Dorchester are close by and the beautiful Lyme Regis with the famous Cobb described inJane Austen’s book Persuasion is definitely worth a visit and only half hour drive. We will definitely visit again if in the area. Thank-you to you both .

A vintage, wriggly tin and oak shepherd's hut in Dorset with every comfort: solid oak floors, sheep's wool insulation, pull-down comfortable double bed, kitchen, dining table/storage benches, wardrobe, wood-burning stove and ensuite bathroom with shower.
Every comfort has been thought of in this cosy, romantic shepherd's hut and a complimentary breakfast basket is provided for your stay with farm shop produce and freshly baked bread. The shepherd's hut is beautifully kitted out and offers every convenience for a comfortable stay at any time of the year.
Our home is set in the midst of secluded, beautiful countryside, yet only 5 mins drive to Hive beach and the local villages of Burton Bradstock with its dog-friendly pub and Dorset Pub of the Year, 'The Three Horseshoes' and 'The Seaside Boarding House Hotel' restaurant and bar, run by the ex Manager of the Groucho Club as well as the pretty village of Puncknowle (pronounced Punnel!) with the Crown Inn which is just a short walk across the fields (don't forget to pack a head torch if you're planning a late night there!). The 'Hive Beach Cafe' and its partner restaurant, 'The Clubhouse' at West Bexington, are great for fresh seafood and Modbury Farm Shop next door is conveniently open daily from 7am to 7pm for naturally unpasteurised Jersey milk, butter, fresh eggs, vegetables and groceries. We are on Dorset's Jurassic coast with stunning walks along the SW coastal path in untouched Thomas Hardy country. Chesil Beach is on our doorstep and country strolls through the pretty villages of Abbotsbury with its swannery and tearooms and Little Bredy, location of TV series 'Broadchurch', are nearby. There is an abundance of spectacular views all around and we are fortunate to be in the centre of the Bride Valley, probably the prettiest area of W Dorset. Lyme Regis with its famous Cobb and Lulworth Cove & Durdle Door are both within easy driving distance. Bridport's famous weekend vintage markets, 10 mins drive away, are a must and you could visit the antiquarian bookshops, the Electric Palace Cinema and Arts Centre and perhaps enjoy a healthy Veggie/Vegan brunch at Bridport's 'Soulshine' cafe whilst you're there.
  • Amazing location, summer or winter. So much to do and a wonderful place to curl up when it's not so nice outside

    Sophie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This stunning, cosy shepherds hut was just what we needed for a getaway! Shirley was very welcoming and helpful, we felt like we had come to visit a distant relative! We brought our older dog Lola who enjoyed the beautiful walks along the coastline and through the countryside, and after a day of adventures she loved curling up by the fire. We’d love to stay again and definitely recommend Shirley’s shepherds hut.

  • Stunning small space, like being inside a well designed sailboat, with cleverly configurable furniture, pullouts, etc. All of it beautifully designed, and prepped with thoughtful touches by Shirley, from fresh bread to local guides. We regret only having one night to stay! Can’t recommend enough.

Mobile phone reception is VERY limited but can be connected at the end of the driveway. You will have to pretend like it's 1998! It's good to talk!

  • We have just spent the weekend in Jan and Terry's shepherd's hut and firstly, what wonderful people they are, such a fantastic friendly welcome and were so pleased to see us when we arrived. The shepherd's hut itself was also perfect with everything you need for a little getaway, including enough breakfast items to have a big pig out all weekend. The location is fantastic too for relaxing and enjoying the countryside and only a nice mile walk to the village pub. All in all, outstanding. Thank you both very much.

    David2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect get away, host were lovely and the hut was cosy.

  • I can't recommend this Shepherd's Hut enough, it's super comfortable and cosy plus the location is brilliant for trips out to the beach, the local towns and further afield. The hut (and the area) is super dog friendly too, perfect for our two little Schnauzers, who had as good a holiday as we did. All the local pubs do incredible fish dishes, and the Hive Beach Cafe is a firm favourite too. We had a brilliant weekend, thanks so much to the hosts.

    Laura2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Terry and Jan’s Shepard’s hut is perfect! There is no WiFi or phone signal which adds to its perfection for me but may not suit everyone. The hut has literally everything you could possibly need for your stay and every eventuality has been thought of! The food that is provided will easily last a couple of days and it was great to not have to be seeking out a shop. The walk into Burton Bradstock is delightful. It’s a great location for exploring lots of the Jurassic coast. Terry and Jan are such great people and nothing is too much bother. I would definitely recommend the hut to my friends and family and would love to stay there again.

    Laura2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The little shepards hut is a delight ! We felt comfortable and loved the breakfast hamper . Such a suprise but a lovely and thoughtful touch. The surroundings are beautiful and the hut is spotless. Would definitely stay again and will be recommending it to others . Thanks for a lovely stay x

  • The traveller or holiday maker can expect a well run and well-hosted farm house with all modern comforts. Mark and Julie are experts in making you more than welcome, accepted in fact. The stay was a happy experience.

  • Thankyou, we loved our stay

    Sarah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Julie and Mark are fantastic hosts. They made myself and my little nervous rescue dog, Patzi, feel so at home and welcome. Julie was kind enough to suggest I use the large room for no extra cost as I was there for the week. The room was comfortable and spacious with a sofa and freeview tv as well as large wardrobe and bedside drawers with dimmable lamps. The double bed was comfortable and I slept really well from the first night which is unusual for me. Both the bathroom and kitchen are clean and easy to use. They have a lovely sized shower and well equipped kitchen with a separate fridge for guests. There’s free internet which worked really well the whole week. Julie and Mark have a real love and extensive knowledge of the area and have tonnes of information and maps galore. They provide breakfast free of charge which is a great addition. Although they have two lovely dogs, Julie and Mark are very thoughtful and considerate of guests who may be a little nervous of them. My nervous little dog didn’t see them at all the whole week and was as comfortable as she gets in a new place. Julie’s place is ideal for a peaceful getaway, with beautiful countryside and coast nearby. I recommend it as a great base from which to explore this beautiful part of the country.

  • Julie and Mark were fabulous hosts and made us feel very welcome! We stayed in a family room with the kids in winter and it was warm, clean and comfortable. They were very relaxed about our muddy shoes and thoughtfully helped us dry them after our long wet walks! We had a lovely stay.
