A bright, cozy home with a welcoming ambiance on a quiet side street near Thomaston center. The house is surrounded by 5 acres of unspoiled rolling fields giving an incredible sense of privacy, all while still in town. Easy walking distance to all the attractions of historic Thomaston, and a central location from which to explore Mid-Coast Maine.
The Morse house has an open floor plan with an airy, sunny living room and a welcoming dining area with a country kitchen behind it. The decor is cheerful and bright--wood, white, a few strong accents of color--and gives the feel of a well cared-for house, sparkling clean and inviting. The bedrooms each have queen sized beds, and there is an additional wood-paneled library/den with easy access to the spacious yard with its large trees, flowers, and fields. -Kitchen: Well equipped full kitchen with new electric stove and refrigerator. Microwave, coffeemaker, hot water pot, toaster, blender, and plenty of cooking utensils. Basic condiments and spices are provided. -Snacks: We supply coffee, tea and sugar. You'll find a variety of light snacks (may include yogurt, fruit, crackers, cookies), and bottled water. -Bedrooms: Brand new queen size pillow top mattresses in both bedrooms. -Library/Den: Drop leaf table opens out to a convenient desk surface or games table. -Books & Games: There is wide selection of books and assortment of games for your amusement. Also a croquet set for use on the big lawn. -Washer and dryer: Laundry detergent included. -Outdoors: Patio table and chairs overlooking the field; private off-street parking.
The area is very quiet while close to everything. You can walk or bike. Thomaston Cafe provides great Sunday brunch and lunch/dinner. Eat on the dock at the Slip Way for lunch or dinner and have fresh fish while enjoying the water. The friendliness of this town is reflected in the Free Friday Night Movies at the town library at 7pm. There is salt water fishing from the town landing. Enjoy the beautiful architecture and the Museum in the Street placards that provide information on the many historic sea captains houses. Thomaston was known as "The Town that Went to Sea" and due to the shipping industry in 1840 two out of the seven "millionaires" in the United States lived in Thomaston. The town is rich with the echoes of that illustrious past and is filled with history! Thomaston is located at the start of two magnificent peninsulae filled with history as well, and with the stunning natural beauty of the Maine coast, all starting at your doorstep. There are in- town hiking trails, Schooner day trips, bare boat charters, sea kayaking, ferries, swimming in lakes and coves, and beach-combing the coast with its islands. Penobscot Bay is one of the world's greatest sailing areas and boating enthusiasts will find this a paradise. There's also historic Knox Mansion overlooking the town, and Port Clyde's Marshall Point Light (featured in the movie Forrest Gump). We are four miles from Rockland, 8 miles from Rockport, and ten miles from Camden. The Cushing and St. George Peninsula both start at the harbor. Marshall Point Light and the Olsen House of Wyeth fame are just two enticing destinations within an easy drive. There is great hiking in the Camden Hill's State Park and the George's River Preserve which together include most of the coastal mountains with stunning views of sea and mountains. Easy access to the Blues Festival, Wooden Boat Show, Lobster Festival, and Farnsworth Museum. Perfect for a quiet night's sleep and getting up early to catch the ferry from Port Clyde to Monhegan Island, or as a home base from which to explore the entire mid-coast region, with day trips from Pemaquid Point to Acadia National Park!
  • This little house is so comfortable and homey. It's on a super quiet street that is an easy 1/2 mile stroll through the historic neighborhood to the little grocery. The bed, sheets and pillows were incredible. It was also very clean. Daria is lovely. If we happen back to this area, we will definitely stay here!

  • Daria's place was a 10/10. It was very clean, very comfortable, & in a great location. Her attention to detail, & thoughtfulness was very evident throughout the place. The original owner seemed like a cool guy too, & I appreciated that she shared some of his history with us. Her communication was excellent, & she was patient, as we had some delays & phone issues whilst getting there. I only wish we could of stayed there longer. Thanks Daria.

  • Spent six nights at the Morse house between Christmas and New Year's. You could not ask for a better location - close to Rockland, Rockport and Camden, while being a short walk into Thomaston. The place was lovely, and exactly what we were looking for - it was quiet, neat and tidy, with a well furnished kitchen where we could make some of our meals. Daria was awesome, and came to meet us as we arrived to show us the place. Highly recommended for your mid-coast stays!

    David2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best AirBnB experience I have had! Daria's place was meticulously clean and full of all things necessary for my week-long stay. I booked her place to visit family during Christmas, and Daria even provided an extra touch by cutting down a Christmas tree and providing decorations so my family could decorate the tree. It was a lovely stay!

  • Great place at a great price. I would love to stay there again!

  • Just returned from a wonderful weekend at Daria’s place in Thomaston. We found our accommodations to be excellent and could not have been more pleased. Firstly, the house is cozy, warm and inviting! More spacious and prettier than its pictures. The beds are most comfortable! The house is spotlessly clean and very well-stocked. We found that every little thing had been taken care of and I’m sure you will too. If for some reason you need attention, there is no doubt that Daria will be there to care for it with her exacting detail. I just asked Rob for his thoughts for this review. His response: “Of all the places we’ve stayed along the coast of Maine, this place was the homiest, the most comfortable…it just felt like home.” Thomaston is just a few miles from Rockland and a good starting point for so many adventures along the coast. The town itself is picturesque and has a lovely restaurant, the Thomaston Café. When we plan our next trip to the area, without question we’ll look to reserve Daria’s place again!

Five minute drive to Rockland, ten min drive to Lucia Beach (Birch Point State Park). Within walking distance to the Public landing. Local amenities in the neighborhood, coffee shop, restaurants, hair salon, laundromat, antique stores, the famous Thomaston grocery store, library, parks, hiking trails and other great stores to check.
You have come to one of the best kept secrets in the world! Midcoast Maine is a fantastic destination year round. There are always events and fun to be had. We particularly love the look and feel of walking around the historic town of Thomaston. You can easily hike or drive to the top of nearby mountains, which provide great views of Penobscot Bay. There is great shopping in Rockland, Camden, Thomaston, and beautiful beaches along our rocky shore.
We are located a block from downtown Thomaston. The downtown has a grocery store, book store, gift store, restaurant, gym, clothing store, and small bar. Thomaston business district has ice cream and a nice movie theatre, the Flagship. Rockland is a five minute drive away and contains tons of museums, shops, restaurants, nightlife, a historic theatre, a ferry to vinalhaven, and a small beach. There is a small airport offering daily flights to the islands of Penobscot Bay. St George is fifteen minutes away with more great beaches, public tennis courts, a small ferry to Monhegan, great seafood restaurants, general stores full of love and charm, and swimmable rock quarries.
  • Maria and her apartment are fabulous. This cozy 1 bedroom has everything you need for your trip. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bed is very comfortable. Located in Thomaston, you can walk the town to explore or easily drive to Rockland, Camden, or Port Clyde. Maria was incredibly responsive to any and all of my questions, often responding in minutes! The next time we are in the area I intended to stay here if it is at all possible. It was perfect for my husband and I.

  • Maria Jose's Captain Jacob's Victorian apartment was a dream. Cosily comfortable and sparkling clean, easy to access with lots of information about the area and things to do. What was so impressive to me was that anything you needed was supplied, from a first aid kit to candles for a blackout to beach towels and beach bags. Wonderful experience

    Mia2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Traveling from Columbus, OH, my husband and I stayed with Stacey from 8.17.2019 through 8.23.2019. We had the entire upstairs of her home: a spacious area including a bathroom, sitting area and bedroom. The areas were extremely clean, comfortable and quickly felt like home away from home. The outside of her home was surrounded by woods and a beautiful flower garden. Hummingbird feeders were visited frequently. My husband and I could not have been happier with the serenity and peaceful spirit of the area. As a host, Stacey was EXCEPTIONAL. When requested, she provided suggestions/advice about the area/state that truly raised our visiting experience to a level beyond the typical tourist. We will be forever grateful for the laughs we shared at breakfast and her kindness. Last but not least, thank you Sophie and Lulu, Stacey's feline assistants. As cat parents ourselves, these two girls made us feel like part of the family.

    Gary2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Pretty, delightful, secluded, economical - bedroom, sitting room, and bath - just a quarter hour from Camden (closer even to Rockland). We really enjoyed our stay with Stacy and the convenience of access to our family (son, daughter-in-law and grand children) in Camden.

    John2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Stacey is an absolutely lovely hostess. She made us feel at home with special touches like flowers, great tips for our outings and the best homemade breakfast ever. Her home is charming with lots of space and comfortable bedding. We enjoyed playing with the friendliest cats ever and watching all the birds, squirrels and Chipmunks surrounding the lovely gardens. This home is highly recommended !

  • Look no further. You’ve just found the loveliest accommodation in mid-coast Maine! In every direction, there are flower beds with several options for outdoor seating, on a deck, a patio or under a tree. Row upon row of flowers to admire and in the early hours of the day, a gentle mist resting on the horizon. Gregory and Kathleen will welcome you into their home as if you’d been coming for years! They’re gracious host, generous and kind. Gregory made us an omelette one morning, granola with fresh fruit another and huevos rancheros on yet another! We were spoiled... Also, finding Heartfelt Farm is simple and from there to Rockland is only a ten minute drive.

    Emilia2019-08-21T00:00:00Z

  • Rebecca’s home is very welcoming and beautifully maintained. The location is perfect - right next to the river and a short walk to the Main Street. Mornings were enjoyed sitting at the table overlooking the river while drinking coffee. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were quite comfortable. We were not able to hear the upstairs neighbors so there are no noise complaints here. The listing is in a nice town that is about an hour away from Freeport and 30 mins from Camden. We were a group of four (2 couples) and had ample space. We enjoyed our stay very much. We would love to stay next time we are in the area. Thank you Rebecca!

But you are just moments from all the best that midcoast Maine has to offer: everything from great hikes and boat trips to art galleries and fine dining. The furnishings are tasteful and comfortable, And Kim is a gracious host.

  • This is an excellent space. The apartment is clean, tidy, well appointed, and cozy. The host, Kim, is gracious, responsive, and helpful. When I raised a concern about the heating, she brought down space heaters and had the plumber there the very next day. And she stayed in touch to make sure the issue was resolved. I could not have been happier, and I would definitely recommend this listing and this host. Gold stars across the board!

  • From the minute I made my reservation Kim was very response to my text messages. On the day I made my reservation I included a quick note as to why I was coming and I received a note back from Kim welcoming me. Before departing my home I contacted Kim to let her know I would be arriving a little late in the evening and she responded immediately saying that was fine and giving me a valuable hint as to exact site of her place. GPS mapping leaves you at the end of a dirt road (which is common for houses in the area) but her house is a couple of hundred feet into the woods and you can't see her house. But what a beautiful place it is. Quiet, peaceful and immaculately manicured piece of heaven in Maine. Just a short walk from her yard to a small dock on the river. Beautiful. She personally met me along with her lovely Labs who were a great welcoming party and gave me a walk through of the place and showed me all the amenities and even how to operate her coffee maker so I could make coffee. She also added the extra touch of stocking the fridge with a number of items to get me started such as eggs, milk, juice and all the necessities for a quick breakfast or lunch snack. Unexpected but appreciated. What to say about her place? It was IMMACULATE and everything you would need for a visit. If I were going back to live in Maine I would try to convince her to rent the place to me full time. Even outside on the little patio area there was a picnic table with a grill and two potted tomato plants on either side of the entry door with fresh ripe tomatoes to help myself too. At the river side there was a dock and kayaks to use to enjoy a beautiful paddle on the river. Location wise for me it was perfect for everything I had to do and everyone I needed to see. It is definitely within easy driving for most of the local attractions. After a busy day it is the perfect place to return to and relax and recharge you batteries for the day. As long as her place is available, I will stay nowhere else. You could find nothing really nicer except for a lot more expense (and even then not nicer). I gush but Kim deserves it. She lives right upstairs and is quick to respond either in person or via phone/text. A must stay kind of place!!!

  • This place was exactly what we were looking for, private, quiet, clean, and comfortable. Everything was as promised with a well-equipped kitchen, a queen-sized bed that looked out over the garden and forest beyond. We rarely used the brightly lit dining area because we preferred to eat out on the patio and watch the bird activity. There is a pleasant living room perfect for reading in the evening. We never bothered to turn on the large screen TV. Outside a short trail leads down to the river with no other buildings in sight. We took the kayaks out several times finding it easy to go up stream and back on the gentle current. There is also a loop trail for hiking on the grounds. Good restaurants not far away. Kim was a delightful host and we left thinking that we want to visit again.

  • Our stay at Kimberley’s place was better than we could’ve ever imagined. We had forgotten a couple of crucial ingredients that we needed to cook our food with and sweet Kimberley provided those items without our asking and more. Kimberley was very warm, kind and made us feel like we were communicating with a beloved family member. (I wish that we were a part of her family). She is an absolute gem and I’d be happy to stay at her place again. We had our own parking space, refrigerator & freezer with spacious, very clean accommodations. On top of that, we were allowed to pick wild berries on her property, have access to her private dock on the river and we had the pleasure of enjoying the local wildlife during our stay. In addition, Kimberley was very accommodating when it came to beach recommendations, as we were looking for good surf to boogie board. Thank you!!! :)

    Ashley2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional accommodations, quiet and clean. Kimberly was very helpful with information but respectful of your privacy

    Paul2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kimberley is a lovely host and the apartment is private, charming, very clean and tidy. The kitchen has everything you need and with thoughtful touches throughout the apartment make a long term or short term stay familiar and comfortable. The riverfront access is such a bonus. Very private swimming,, birdwatching, and kayaking from the private dock made this vacation even more spectacular and relaxing. If you want to experience Maine and yet be close to the beautiful oceanside towns this is your go to place. I highly recommend this place!

  • They were both great hosts and very quick and eager to help with anything if it was needed! We were traveling with 3 small kids and they were very understanding of the noise caused by 3 very active kids!

  • We stayed with Alianna & Daniel right after a big storm swept through the area. Faced with a rare power outage, they were very communicative about the situation and we were able to work together to modify our stay. Once we checked in, it was great to meet them both and we enjoyed our time at this home. Great location for our needs to visit family in the area and we enjoyed early morning breakfasts looking out at the river. Would absolutely stay here again!

    Lauren2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Alianna & Daniel were great hosts! They greeted us upon arrival and gave some great suggestions for nearby places to explore and local restaurants to check out. Our space was roomy and clean. Alianna went above and beyond in her hospitality, decorating the space with fresh flowers and an anniversary balloon. We loved our stay in Thomaston!

  • Alianna and Daniel were lovely and thoughtful hosts. They were so kind and communicated promptly about everything. The apartment was as described and the surrounding area was fun to explore.

    Maria2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts are exceptionally lovely people-- very welcoming and kind! The upstairs space worked out really well for a friend and I for a weekend visit to the area. There is some road noise (which I was fine with, but just noting it in case that's helpful to others). Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

Come relax in the cozy, one-bedroom guest house on 35-acre New Morning Farm. Harvest fresh organic vegetables from the garden to create delicious meals in a well-appointed kitchen. Havener Pond is a short walk and saltwater access to Muscongus Bay a short drive. Camden/Rockport, Rockland, and Damariscotta are equidistant (25 minutes), offering museums, events, and many good restaurants.
Our guest house, known as the Hen House, is a one-bedroom house with everything you need for a relaxing stay.
We live on 35 acres of meadows and woods in Midcoast Maine, on Finntown Road, known among neighbors as Finntonia. Finntown Road bisects the largest tract of undeveloped land south of Route One in Midcoast Maine. There are a number of farms on the road, most of them organic.
  • We had the best weekend ever in the lovely Hen House of Mercedes and John. There was plenty of delicious food on our arrival, from homemade yogurt, jam or marmalade to freshly roasted coffee and bread. We were not even able to finish everything in 3 days. The house was very clean, and had everything that we needed to cook, and rest for three days in the woods. The area is amazing and we got to see the most incredible fall views of coastal Maine. Mercedes and John were lovely and we enjoyed a lot chatting with them and seeing their beautiful farm. 100% recommendable and we hope to come back soon!

    Iñigo2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay.

    Harold2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place! The Henhouse was full of everything we needed from linens and towels to fresh granola and strawberries. All of the little details came together to make a perfect stay!

    Ellie2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I just spent a wonderful few days at New Morning organic farm. The Hen House was very comfortable and exceeded our expectations. The little house was designed by Mercedes’ brother and he really thought out every detail perfectly from the walk-in shower to the cozy living-dining area. We enjoyed walking through their meadow to the pond. Idyllic! This was our first time to Maine and John and Mercedes left helpful suggestions of places to see and visit. (Make sure to include their recommendation to eat at Broadcove Marine Services. )

    Kay2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, very quiet and serene. This is our second stay in the Hen House. Mercedes and John are wonderful hosts and their farm is inspiring for us, as we have a very small 'farmette'. The thoughtful touches speak to their character.

    Lisa2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Mercedes and John are truly great hosts and the hen house keeps up with its promise: spacious for a coupe, with everything you need and a nice quiet week end getaway in the Liddell of a wonderful region

    Baptiste2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay and would gladly recommend to anyone. Mercedes and John were such thoughtful hosts. They already had food for us in the kitchen when we arrived, helped set up a campfire for cooking, and recommended great places to eat. The farm and guesthouse are very peaceful. Overall, this is a very good place to stay, and Mercedes and John took great care to make sure we were happy during our time there.

    Ben2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! John and Mercedes "hen house" could not have been more perfect. The house is spotlessly clean and so comfortable to relax in-- sit and have your breakfast and coffee while watching the hummingbirds. John and Mercedes are the best hosts, provide tons of local info, a fridge full of local organic food, and the most fantastic book shelves. They gave us a beautiful note and bottle of wine because we were celebrating our five year anniversary. The location was perfect-- close to Camden, Damariscotta and most other mid-coast destinations. We have stayed in airbnbs all over the world and this is our favorite.

You can't get any closer to the coast of Maine. The cottage perches on a dock next to a small cove. Low tide beach, high tide swimming area, and lapping waves on a near by ledge make this get away a perfect retreat for one or two guests.
The cottage provides everything you need for a comfortable stay: New mattress and bedding, comfortable chairs for relaxing and dining, a kitchenette for light meals, and deck furniture to enjoy outdoor living. Wrap around windows provide views of the cove and access to summer breezes. A heater keeps the cabin toasty on cooler days.
We are located in a neighborhood of year round homes and summer houses. The nearby (.5 miles) Audubon property offers walking trails. Damariscotta and Round Pond, 15 minutes away, have many restaurants and shops, and galleries. A half hour drive will bring you to Camden and Rockland where you have more access to restaurants and museums. The Midcoast is a beautiful area of Maine that appeals to people who want to view the scenery of the rocky coast while they also enjoy the uniqueness of each village.
  • Sharon and Dick were expert hosts. The "Little Heaven" description of this location is an understatement. It was absolutely perfect. My soul, my body, my mind, were completely at rest in this place. I can't describe how beautiful it is: waking up to a calm inlet at low tide, sleeping to the sound of the waves lapping inward as high tide was rising, the fishermen headed out to sea in the morning, the leaves across the bay having changed looking like a palette of earth tones. It was heavenly, indeed.

    Todd2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely stunning spot- perfect for relaxing, and also perfectly positioned to adventure out and explore beautiful Maine. Sharon and Dick are perfect hosts, and their warm, welcoming personalities are evident. My husband and I listened to the tides come in and out, heard the loon singing, owl calls- Perfection really, for anyone that likes being in tune with nature.

    Caitlin2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • This space is small and cozy, right on the water where you can experience the changing tides and bird watch throughout the day (we especially loved watching the cormorants fish!). Location is great, and Sharon & Dick are super responsive and welcoming hosts. Excellent experience!

    Nikki2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay in a beautiful setting! Hard to beat the location - directly on the water - lovely to be able to watch the tide come and go on the rocky shore. The cottage is small but masterfully set-up to take advantage of the space. There are two comfortable armchairs in the windows for watching the tides and the sunset, and a deck with more chairs and tables outside. The kitchen was so meticulously set-up that I sent my son, who is a fan of "tiny houses," a few photos of the layout of dishes, cookware etc inside the cabinets - he was impressed. We had no difficulty cooking a range of nice meals despite the small space. We hope to have a chance to stay in this wonderful place again sometime soon.

    Piper2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Words truly cannot describe this little place. My husband and I eloped from Iowa, and got married right there on the boat dock, and spend a week relaxing, seeing the local sites, eating lobster and oysters, and watching the trees start to turn colors. Our first time in Maine was unbelievable, and would not have been the same had we stayed somewhere else. We loved the winding, wooded roads, and just wish we had our motorcycle! This little cottage was perfect for the two of us. Well equipped with everything we needed. We loved cooking live lobsters, grilling steaks and burgers, and eating on the deck. Dick & Sharron are wonderful!! Always friendly when we saw them around the property, and we still felt secluded and in our own private space. We look forward to returning to Little Heaven again someday!! Best vacation of our lives!

    Sarah2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful space and hosts. Waking up on the water was truly inspiring.

    Jay2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing little spot on the water. Sharon and Dick were so helpful, but not intrusive. Life does not get much better than sitting on the deck, eating lobster and watching the seals.

    Cathryn2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is truly an unforgettable slice of heaven. We had the best time staying here and felt right at home. The cottage itself was adorable, very clean and well organized, allowing us to make dinners and breakfasts everyday, as well as grill on the porch. We enjoyed nearby hiking and sightseeing, beautiful sunsets and blissful mornings. We loved how quiet the location was and its tranquility, with unique birds and a fresh ocean smell morning and night. Sharon and Dick were very welcoming and accommodating, and we felt very comfortable lounging on the porch and sitting on the dock off their property. All we can say is thank you so much for an unforgettable experience and we definitely plan to return! This place is Maine’s best kept secret, in my opinion ;)

Cozy, isolated, well stocked cottage cleaned by a professional cleaning crew awaits your visit.
Walk to the village for entertainment, a sail, hiking or exquisite dining; or stay at 'home' where there is plenty of room to relax and cook fresh local food from the farmers market or co-op. Want to get away from it all? Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, the cottage gives you a place to 'hang your hat' while exploring all the area has to offer. So bring your toys, there is plenty of space to store them. Taking day trips from here is perfect since we are centrally located to many of the most popular sites and activities. Two people will find the space very comfortable. • The home is very small, but still has everything 1-2 people could need. This is a cozy comfy tiny house, which is very clean and close to Downtown Camden. I’d recommend the home to anyone passing through the area.

  • Wow what an adorable cottage to stay in- almost like a “tiny house”. Full kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, toaster and other cooking utensils. Different kitchen condiments left to use. The bed was comfortable and very cozy. Cottage is easy to find and very close to town! Town is adorable and fun to walk around with great restaurants and breweries. Power went out in town and Margaret was quick to respond to help us figure out why and even offered to send someone over to look at our electricity (this was before we found out the power went out in the whole town). Camden is a cute, quaint small town with friendly locals. Great stay for a great price! Will come again.

    Kelly2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Margaret’s place during a Birthday / Valentine’s Day getaway. We wanted to escape from our busy life in the city for just a little bit and this turned out to be the perfect destination for just that! It was extremely cozy. Especially during the cold, winter nights. It was also very quiet and a convenient distance away from what Downtown Camden has to offer. We would definitely stay again if we’re ever back in the area!

    Gabrielle2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so cozy and warm! We traveled to Camden for a quick overnight trip and were so pleasantly surprised at how comfortable our stay was. Don’t let winter deter you from a Maine getaway! Would absolutely stay again at this cute cottage for two.

This is a quaint farm house in a rural setting but not far from many attractions in the mid coast area. It's comfortable, warm, cozy and quiet. There's a lot of wildlife here. I'm very close to Wiscasset, Damariscotta Lake State Park and Damariscotta village. There are some great restaurants and pubs a short drive away. Pemaquid Point and lighthouse on the ocean is a beautiful drive from here as is Rockland, Camden & Augusta. It's a good mid coast location.
My house is in a quiet country setting. It is, however, located mid-coast with access to shopping, restaurants and water access near by. There is a public boat launch that some of my guests have used to go kayaking and canoeing on the Lake Damariscotta. A beautiful clean lake and river close by. Another boat launch is into the Damariscotta River in the village of Damarisscotta. There are farms nearby and views of the lake. This is a very scenic area of Maine. I have also had some people biking through the area in the summer and spring. There are many hiking trails nearby and a short drive away there are hikes along the water.
  • Margaret is the perfect hostess. Her quiet house in a beautiful setting in the Maine woods is cozy, sparkling clean, full of light and thoughtfully appointed. I will go there again in a heartbeat.

  • Jefferson is a charming town and the drive to Margaret's place includes breathtaking views of Damariscotta Lake. You drive up, along Rte. 213, to the top of Bunker Hill and the town's historic buildings, then down about a mile or so to Margaret's place, an early-1800s Cape. Margaret is charming and gracious, a perfect host who provides a wonderful breakfast...starting with the smell of bacon cooked on a wood stove. Genevieve F.

I have gotten from her, such as her warm welcome, having an attentive heart, clean rooms, smart use of color that I love for her whole house, an unforgettable taste of English tea and breakfast, AND her natural personality... I'll definitely be back there. Thanks again, Margaret.

  • Amanda’s place was beautiful nice and cozy warm and clean I stay there in February in winter time and the apartment was lovely and comfortable cozy and warm everything you needed was at hand I would highly recommend a stay

  • Amanda's place in Camden was a great find. Clean, comfortable (the bed with its heavy, warm comforter was absolutely lucious on a cold winter day!) and it had all the amenities we needed. It is centrally located in a lovely neighborhood. Amanda was very quick to respond to every question we had.

  • Very cute place to stay close to downtown Camden. Clean and comfortable and perfect for a small family and travelers with dogs. This was our second stay and we plan to come back!

  • I enjoyed staying at Amanda’s place with my two dogs and my sister. Very clean and super cozy place with easy access to town. Would 10/10 recommend!

    Sarah2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda’s apartment was fantastic. We had a very spacious lounge and dining area downstairs and upstairs was the bedroom and bathroom. Both rooms had a refrigerator which was handy. We used the small, well equipped kitchen facilities to prepare a couple of breakfasts during our stay which was nice to be able to do after being in the road for 5 weeks. The apartment was very clean and very warm. A strong NorthEasterly storm came through during our visit, and while many others in Camden lost power, we did not and we remained well protected and warm. The location is excellent as it is a 5/10 minute walk to the town centre, so very handy but very quiet at night enabling great sleeps! Thanks for a great stay.

  • Amanda was very responsive whenever we had questions, which was great. Her place has a good amount of space to spread out in. The location, in a nice quiet neighborhood, is wonderful. It is a very easy walk into town and is perfectly situated for exploring the mid-coast area (eg Belfast, Rockport, Rockland).

  • The cabin is amazing! I stayed only 3 nights, too short to explore everything around there though ;) Marci was really sweet and everything was super clean and as perfect as one could hope for. The fireplace is amazing for a cold evening :)

  • We had such a great time staying in this quaint cabin. Marci was so kind as to let us have our pup stay there as well! She made checking in and checking out seamless and was very accommodating and quick to respond with any questions we had. The property is beautiful and you get the best of both worlds of being hidden in the tranquil woods of Rockport Maine and only a minute drive to the ocean views! Thank you for being such a great host Marci!

  • The location is close to sevices but feels secluded. Has a nice open living area and kitchen with fireplace, comfortable seating, games and a large tv. Having the in unit washer/dryer was so helpful. We enjoyed a cozy christmas in this beautiful cabin in the woods!

  • Great place....well situated in the area...great host....recommend highly...

  • We never got a chance to meet Richard, because we arrived so late and left so early, but he left a light on for us and the door was left unlocked. It was a very comfortable night sleep. It was also extremely nice of Richard to have snacks and fruit for us.

    Jessi2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Richard was really accommodating, and was willing to let us leave our car on site so we could travel without parking. He was really friendly, and was so helpful by having breakfast items ready for us, which was something I was hoping to bring myself but didn't get time too. It made our morning much easier! Easy location for a bike ride to downtown Damariscotta (~20minutes). Small, but perfectly fine for 2 people and a quick stay. Microwave and fridge for storing and heating up leftovers from a great dinner in town! :) Thanks Richard!

  • A wonderful woodland retreat! Thank you Richard for your hospitality!

    Tracy2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, comfy room in the woods. I slept like a baby! The ‘kitchen’ had great snacks, fresh fruit, juice and milk along with cereal options, granola bars and delicious coffee. I was quite impressed! Richard & Samantha where great hosts and I wish we could have stayed longer!

  • Nice private room with bath and an area for keeping food cold plus a microwave. Superb hospitality, opening his living room (with wood-burning stove!) to guests as well.

    Chip2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Richard's place was a quiet, private room and bath with it's own entrance in a wooded area close to Damariscotta. He sent very clear directions with a very visible marker at the driveway. The room is very comfortable and clean and appealing witha desk a d comfy reading chair and little kitchenet with small frig, coffee, microwave, popcorn and breakfast/snack items. Richard and his daughter Samantha greeted us warmly when we arrived. The heat was just right and the bed comfy. Loved it!

  • Great location in town. Very accommodating host. Very clean and charming house.

    Kevin2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot reccomend this place enough! This is one of my favorite places I've stayed in through Airbnb. The location couldn't be better with the house being near the water and about a five minute walk into town. The house was spotless and had really unique character and beauty -- I loved it the moment I walked in. John was hospitable and providedus with all the information we need. I highly, highly, highly reccomend it, the value is absolutely worth it.

    Marie2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • John was extremely hospitable and welcoming. He gave us a detailed tour of his home, had helpful notes and reminders put up, and offered advice about places to go nearby. Definitely great value, especially for the location.

Welcome to Clarry Hill. Situated on 12 private acres, surrounded by blueberry fields, our summer getaway can be yours! We reinvented the classic Maine Cape, tripling its size with two newer wings, while maintaining its countryside appeal, large enough for families or those whom want a little more space to unwind. The house is exactly 25 minutes from Camden, Rockland, and Damariscotta (17 miles.) 30 minutes to Belfast, 45 Minutes to Augusta (Cape Air has daily non-stops from Boston Logan.)
The kitchen and the Great Room are the central places to convene. There is casual seating for 6-7 in the kitchen, which was custom designed by your hosts with Maine Coast Kitchen Designs, specifically to provide abundant cooking and prep space with room for everyone to be social. The Great Room has elevated bar seating with a 55” smart TV for your favorite internet TV programming, a dozen or more local digital channels are available, as well. There are two large, cozy couches with a gas log fireplace controlled by remote. There is seating for 12 in the Great Room.
We are just below the top of Clarry Hill, which is capped with blueberry fields. Neighbors are barely visible from the house. Sparsely populated, quiet, rural area with very little passing traffic (average of a dozen per hour) most neighbors homes are situated on 5+ acres.
  • This house was a great spot for our family to stay for the week! It was very close to Camden, a beautiful little town to explore. We were so appreciative of Colin’s quick responses and graciousness. The house had everything we needed for cooking, laundry, etc. and was well taken care of. There were a few bugs in the home but I think it is common in this area and with the change of the weather. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend this house for anyone staying in Union!

  • Amazing home with an amazing host. Our stay at Colin's home was a dream. We stayed at his home during the Dorian hurricane and he was very understanding when we got stranded in Maine. We were able to stay an extra day while our flights we rebooked. Colin was super responsive and great to rent from. Because of him and his home I have several family members now looking to relocate to this beautiful area. Thank you Colin!!

    Steve2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Colin's place was amazing. The home was clean with comfortable beds. The family had a great time in their beautiful great room. The kitchen was very well designed. The home is a great place to stay in midcoast Maine!

  • The house is more than we expected. Large and clean. Excellent kitchen with all the equipment and condiments. The front yard is huge and we had several games of touch football. Colin was very responsive via email. We had a great time at Colin's house.

    Hang2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • This house is beautiful and Colin was a wonderful host—so communicative and helpful!

    Laura2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Colin is an excellent host, and his house is so beautiful and well maintained. The house is very spacious, with a excellent floor plan, and the yard is lush and private, with beautiful views. The furnishings and appliances are top quality, the kitchen was a dream to work in, and the dining area accommodated everyone. The great room is vast with comfortable furniture, beautiful rugs and lots of children's toys! The bedrooms are also beautiful with comfortable beds, and the bathrooms have everything you need. Colin is a great and timely communicator, who made us feel welcome and at home. We will definitely book this house again in the future! Anyone staying here will feel relaxed, pampered and special! Thank you again Colin. You provided our family and friends with such a special place, and we will always carry these moments with us!

  • One of the coziest places we've stayed! The cabin was wonderfully furnished & equipped (from a well stocked kitchen to board games & plenty of blankets), sparkling clean, and cozy warm. There were countless thoughtful touches throughout the cabin and at only ~1:30 drive from Portland, was the perfect weekend away. Our only regret was that we didn't stay for longer.

Lovely property right on the water made it easy too cool off in the 100° weather. We also had a great time in the Kayaks and canoe. Would love to come back sometime soon, 5/5 stars for us.

  • Enjoyed our stay here so much!! Such a beautiful apartment. The bed was incredibly comfortable! Had some trouble with the TV and he was there in a short time to fix it for us! We will certainly be back! Thank you so much for your hospitality!

  • We had the pleasure of staying at Maria’s Captain Jacob's Victorian Residence for two nights. The apartment is spacious and extremely comfortable. In fact the beds were so comfortable I had the best two nights of sleep I have had in ages. We will be sure to stay at Captain Jacob's Victorian Residence again when we are in the Rockland and Camden area. Thanks Maria.

  • Lovely apartment in center of Thomaston but on a quiet street. The apartment is larger than it appears in pictures. The bedroom is huge with lots of storage and very comfy bed. The living room has a day bed and there is a large pantry next to the kitchen. The apartment is sparkling clean and very tatstefully decorated. The responses were very fast and Maria let us checkout later because there was noone coming in right after us. We will be back. Thanks.

  • The apartment was awesome! Decoration was awesome, my girlfriend loved the pictures on here and loved it even more when we got there. The bed was also super comfortable which was nice. The town is tiny but very nice to walk around, and right around the corner was a place called The Block Saloon, we ended up eating there both nights of our stay, really great place. Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a place in the area. Kitchen was great and everything was very clean. Hopefully we’ll be back sometime

    Jordan2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a terrific stay! Next time we’ll make it longer. The apartment was perfect, cozy and comfortable, with plenty of space to stretch out and feel at home. The location is perfect for a stroll around town. Take note that the apartment is located up a flight of stairs. Not a problem if you are capable of climbing. Plenty of extras include a binder full of information about the area. Very thoughtful!

    Rose2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very spacious and has everything you need for a short stay, including bath towels and beach towels, shampoo, cooking equipment and a lobster pot. It was nice staying in a less touristy location than some of the other nearby towns, and by car it was easy to reach lots of different towns and beaches. Although we didn't meet Maria, she replied to messages quickly and gave us some local tips. There is a big 'things to do' binder she has made which contains lots of useful info.

  • Charming home and excellent hospitality

    Ellen2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Gregory and Kathleen truly open their home and themselves to the guests who stay there. As many other reviewers have noted, the breakfast is incredible! We loved the location of their beautiful home, so close to all of the midcoast Maine attractions we were hoping to visit, but very a quiet environment that makes you feel the opposite of a visitor. We will most definitely be coming back.

    Julie2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We chose this place based on location. My husbands ancestors originally settled in Cushing in the early 1700’s. It was a perfect fit to stay in a 1700’s era home. Greg and Kathleen have done a beautiful job restoring this home and the grounds are spectacular. If you are looking for an out of the way place, this is it. ‘Quiet’ takes on a whole new meaning. 😊 Very nice breakfast and the hosts are extremely nice and helpful.

  • This is fantastic location for people looking for charming and quiet place. Just Five minutes from Thomaston and a couple of minutes more from Rockland. Kathleen and Gregory are nicest people you can meet. It is so much history at this house and I loved everything about it. In addition iit is surrounded by beautiful garden full of flowers. Definitely will visit it again next year. Margaret, Mississauga, ON

  • My parents stayed here for two nights while attending the Rockland Blues Festival (I booked their reservation as a gift once I got the Ok from Gregory and Kathleen) and they loved it. Great hospitality, and the gardens were gorgeous.

    Chelsea2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a special place with a real family feel. Gregory and Kathleen were incredibly welcoming and gracious, even offering us a freshly baked pie on our first evening and letting us take over the kitchen to cook dinner. The kitchen and dining room of this 18th c. farmhouse were cozy, well-stocked, and charming and the garden is stunning! We loved sitting outside in the mornings and enjoying the views. It was also such a pleasure to get to know Gregory and Kathleen and to get a tour of Gregory’s workshop!

This newly updated two bedroom apartment is the top floor of a house built in 1850 by the ship makers. You will enjoy a stunning view of the St. George River just across the street. Watch the ships sail by and the osprey feed. Walking distance to restaurants, brewery, coffee shop and quaint downtown. The public boat launch is a short walk. Short drive to Rockland, Camden, Rockport, Cushing and Port Clyde. A perfect, scenic location in the heart of mid coast Maine.
This is a beautiful old home built by the shipwrights. It’s been updated but still has lots of charm, beautiful light and a lovely river view. This is an old house. There is no AC save for a window unit in the front bedroom. The bathroom has a beautiful clawfoot tub--very pretty but if you are challenged with mobility getting in and out, this may be an issue. There is no dishwasher, but there is a very nice 6 range gas stove. The good news is that the view from the kitchen sink is the beautiful river. :) Overall a very pleasant place to be if you like old, pretty homes with grace and character. Depending on the season the host will leave delicious treats--wild Maine blueberries, fresh baked cookies, local sourdough rye bread, hand crafted chocolate, garden cherry tomatoes, farm fresh eggs or crisp New England apples.
Thomaston has some of the most beautiful old homes on the mid coast. Walk around the beautiful old neighborhoods or enjoy a stroll along the river. A short drive to Port Clyde, Rockland, Camden and Rockport. Walk to the public boat launch for easy access to the river. The town of Thomaston has a couple of restaurants, stores and a coffee shop. It's sleepy, quiet and gorgeous. Hiking, boating and relaxing are all available to you here. Next door towns have loads of great restaurants, museums, art galleries, theaters and shopping.
  • My daughter and I had a wonderful time at Rebecca's. The place was very nice and the beds were very comfortable.

  • Great location! The apartment was clean and cozy! Perfect spot for a weekend getaway!

    Alexandra2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in a great quiet location by a beautiful river while at the same time being a close 15-20 minute drive from Rockport and Camden where there are lots of food and shopping. It’s an old house so the walls are a bit thin and as it’s a duplex you may hear your neighbors as we did. That’s the only negative because the house itself is clean and beautiful with a HUGE six range oven, so if you like to cook you won’t have a problem!

    Alisha2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with everything you need and within an easy drive to such good food and shopping!

    Renae2019-10-03T00:00:00Z

This house was built in 1847 as a home to shipbuilders during Thomaston’s historic ship building heyday. The house is 1 block from the St. George River and a short walk to the waterfront. It is a 3 block stroll along shady streets to the village . Inside the old fashioned house is bright, cheerful and quaint. For railroad buffs, there is a bi-weekly local freight train that passes by. This is a pet friendly home and neighborhood!
This is an old "rustic" house with character! There is an oil furnace and gas monitor in the kitchen that heats the downstairs nicely . (The wood stove can not be used by guests per insurance policy) The upstairs, as characterized in most old new england houses, does not have central heat. But I have provided radiant heaters in the bedrooms as supplementary heat.
This is a neighborhood with a lots of dogs . Very dog friendly ! A small fright train may pass by once during the week. Otherwise a quiet friendly neighborhood with a small view of the river .
  • Great house, great hosts. Easy walking the dogs down beautiful neighborhood streets. Quiet location. House is set up very well, and was wonderfully clean. Thanks so much! Also, Thia was a great communicator.

    Julie2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very sweet place. Everything provided for a comfortable stay. There were four of us, room and privacy for everyone.

    Elizabeth2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, great location, great host.

    Lyle2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in Thia's home. The house was so charming and clean. It is conveniently located to town. There were fresh flowers in the kitchen, which were so thoughtful. The neighborhood and town feel very safe. Thia's communication was fast and very friendly. We would highly recommend staying there and definitely plan to return. Thank you, Thia!

  • Charming home with lots of character. Lots of great toys for the little ones.

    Emily2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Thia’s home is a rustic, Maine house. It is conveniently located, clean, and a good value. It was quiet. Thia is a very responsive host.

    Damian2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, spacious historic house walkable to everything in Thomaston. Easy access to Rockland and Route 1. The neighborhood is beautiful, very close to the river and we loved seeing all the historic houses. It is tastefully decorated with lots of antiques. We made good use of the kitchen which is very well equipped, including some lovely pottery. We appreciated the little touches such as fresh flowers, coffee and creamer. The railroad crossing is right in the front yard, the train never passed by during our stay - would have really made my son's vacation extra special if it did!

    Poulomi2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thia was a great host. She was easy to get in touch with, personable and quick to answer my questions. The house is within walking distance to Thomaston Main Street and if we were in the area we'd walk up for dinner or breakfast. We also walked down to the restaurant and public landing on the river. The house was comfortable and the living area large enough to have extended family over for the evening. It's in a great location ... quick drive to Rockland, Camden, etc and lots if lighthouses. I would stay here again.

  • Seth was an outstanding host. So was his little dog :). We had an amazing time. We had a fire with two comfy chairs. The bed was so soft and we slept like babies. He had a welcome basket to take to the dome with snacks , water , matches, fire starters, a map to the stars and I book for reference. He also had a telescope for our viewing pleasure. The temp was perfect with the heater in the dome. We woke up to a continental breakfast in the main house. The bathroom was sparkling clean. Everything about our experience was A+. Wish I could give him 10 stars.

    Bridget2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cozy domes are...well just that. Insanely cozy. Our dome was heated and was just walking distance from a clean hot shower and any amenities you would find in your home. The dome is large and comfortable, we were warm with an outside temperature of 16 degrees. The dome allows for a full panorama of the Maine night sky with zero light pollution. We saw over 10 shooting stars before falling asleep. Just minutes from Damariscotta it’s a fantastic location. In the morning we were pleasantly surprised with fresh coffee, and a continental breakfast! We will be returning in the spring to rent out all three amazing dimes with friends! Stay here. Trust me.

    Steve2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • To sum it all up this was an unforgettable experience! We stayed two nights in the dome and even though one night it was 35 degrees out, we stayed warm with three extra blankets. We did a day trip to Acadia National park which was a bit of drive but so worth it! The two nights we stayed it drizzled at night so we couldn’t see to many stars from the dome but while sitting at the bonfire before it rained you could see them so clearly! If you are traveling to Maine this is a must do!

    Ariana2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Comfy dome is an amazing outdoor stay with all the comforts of indoor amenities! Everything is exactly as reported in the listing, Seth is a great host with the most adorable dog! We had a wonderful stay though it was a bit cold at night. We would definitely stay here again!

    Nidhi2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The lure of sleeping in a clear dome and waking up to nature was incredibly appealing to us, but Seth’s hospitality is what truly made this a memorable experience. Upon arrival he took us on a tour with Quinn (best fetching dog EVER) and showed us where to park along with the bathroom in his home. It was so nice to shower after a long day of hiking then go bundle up next to the fire before burying ourselves under the most amazing blankets. Seth gave us a welcome basket of flashlights, local moon pies, a charger kit, and matches with a fire starter. He also graciously let us do a load of laundry! If we ever find ourselves in this area again, we’ll definitely be staying here!!

    Erin2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a unique stay! Several extra comforters meant I was super warm and cozy, and there were lots of cute touches like a star map and home made moon pies! The view was beautiful, the bed was ultra comfortable, and Seth made sure I felt at home. Thanks for the stay!

    Laura 2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Seth was very welcoming and anticipates his guests needs before they occur. We stayed in the comfy dome in the beginning of October, and we were warm enough during the night with all the blankets provided, even though there was a thick frost in the morning (30 degrees F). The comfy dome is a unique experience that will not be easily forgotten.

    Danae2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to get out of the busy routine and experience something different. The dome was very clean and the bed very comfy. Nothing better than to wake up to the sound of rain. Seth's mom provided us with extra blankets just in case we get cold but we didn't. I totally recommend the comfy dome.

The treehouse, BREEZE, is located at The Appleton Retreat on 120 acres of private land, bordered by 1,300 acres of a protected nature conservancy. To the south is the Pettengill Stream a resource protected area and to the north a large secluded pond. BREEZE guests may reserve the wood fired cedar hot tub and the sauna which are close by and private. The Appleton Retreat is less than a 30 minute drive to Belfast, Rockport, Camden and Rockland, charming downeast seaside towns.
Total privacy, alone in a tree, the ultimate getaway. The 1st floor of BREEZE is over 20' high and the sleeping loft is approximately 40' off the ground. To gain access to BREEZE requires climbing three flights of stairs. Two are very easy and code compliant, the 3rd is a ships ladder - most dogs will need a lot of coaching or need to be carried up. The sleeping loft is also accessed by a steep set of stairs. This is probably not a great place for young children..... You will experience the uniqueness of being in a tree! Windowed walls overlook the treetops and a glimpse of the ridge to the south. There is a large deck for hanging out.... (CAUTION: In winds over 25 mph you may experience some movement and noise - not to worry!) Although BREEZE appears to be a rustic structure, it has many amenities including: a full galley kitchen; a shower and traditional toilet, as well as good old electricity........ so you will not be roughing it. There is private parking at the treehouse. Please visit us at The Appleton Retreat or in Portland at the Westside Studio: airbnb.com/h/the-appleton-retreat-smitten-cabin-midcoast-maine airbnb.com/h/the-appleton-retreat-braeburn-guesthouse-midcoast-maine airbnb.com/h/the-westside-studio-a-romantic-getaway-portland-maine
The local towns of Hope, Union, Liberty and Lincolnville are like taking a step back to the past. They are truly quaint with their little general stores and blink of the eye town centers. Of course you don't want to miss a visit to coastal Maine and the bigger towns of Belfast, Rockport, Camden and Rockland, with their rugged coastline and schooners plying the waters. Breathtaking.

    Jonathan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The greatness of Airbnb is that it's possible to stay at such terrific apartments for less than a hotel and to also meet interesting and gracious people like Fred & Nud.

    Gary2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend Fred’s place as it is close to all the local attractions, easy to find, and yet nicely secluded for a peaceful stay. Fred was an amazing host with tons of knowledge and really amazing hospitality that you just don’t find anywhere. Everything was sparkling clean and beautiful, will definitely be back for another stay!

    Matt2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fred & Nud are such warm and wonderful hosts of a beautiful space, which is even more amazing than the photos. We instantly felt right at home, but also enjoyed luxuries (i.e. all of the beautiful stonework, the amazing walk-in shower) you couldn't normally find at a hotel. We would love to come back again and highly recommend The Granite Chateau to anyone who has a chance to visit.

    Hadley2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • There are many reasons to stay here. The location is prime, close to the beach and down town. The place has a modern Hobbit hole vibe, very beautiful and unique. Fred is also an amazing host, he's very welcoming and offers really great suggestions on things to do or places to eat. He's also one of the kindest people I've met.

    Caroline2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you are staying in the Rockland area, you MUST stay at the Granite Chateau! Fred's gorgeous home in Owl's Head is a work of art, and Fred and Nud are the warmest and most accommodating hosts you will ever meet. If you are there in the winter months, even your feet will be toasty from the radiant heating under the floor! We can't recommend this sanctuary enough and look forward to our next visit.

Thomaston is a wonderful little town! Downtown is a small grocery store Thomaston Grocery which provides your basics needs. There is also Athens Pizza, Thomaston Cafe and Threshers Brewing.
  • I had a lovely 4 week stay at Meredith’s house. It was a spotless and very cozy space that I enjoyed relaxing in after exploring autumn’s magic outdoors. The small neighborhood was very peaceful but easy to get to great hiking and attractions in the Mid-coast area. The kitchen was very well stocked and made it easy for me to cook daily meals. There were plenty of towels and linens for my entire stay, and having laundry in the basement was very convenient. Meredith was great host and communication with her was easy. She answered all of my questions promptly, checked to make sure I had everything I needed (especially after the wind storms), and responded to my requests with sincerity. I highly recommend a stay at this house.

  • A great place to stay for a small family or four adults. Super clean and everything thing you need for a short or long visit in the Rockland Maine area. Would stay there again!

    Christopher2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • So many "extras" provided by Meredith. If you plan on cooking, the kitchen is very well appointed. The bed in the master bedroom is very comfy. So many thoughtful touches! Lots of extras here. Would definitely stay again if near Thomaston.
