Places to stay in Warncoort

Places to stay in Warncoort
The Farmers' Cottage sits above heritage listed Tarndwarncoort Homestead on a 175 year old family farm near Birregurra. It retains great 1940s features and decor, but with warmth and necessities for today. Open wood fire, farm walk, on site hosts.
Farm workers have lived in this Cottage since 1940, so there are plenty of references to farm life here, including some of our estate-grown woolen yarn for you to try. Also, a great range of contemporary food and produce books. A "Mini Bar of Stuff From Not Far" is available for guests to take home some great local produce.
The Otway Hinterland is a rich, fertile area. The Farmers Cottage is situated on the very edge of the Otway Ranges, overlooking the flat Western Plains. The rainforests are to our south, with mountain bike trails, waterfall walks, quirky bush villages and amazing food. To the north are the volcanic landscapes around Red Rock and the moon-like back roads around Lake Corangamite.
  • We loved our staying in Tom’s house and only wished it could have been longer! It‘s first time living in a farm,we arrived there smoothly as Tom leave instruction to us。Its a great experience to us,and it would be worth making a special trip。We’ll recommend this house to our friend。

    Ada2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Tom’s place was just what we needed after our trip. Peace, quiet and opportunity to look at the stars in the evening. Loved the pet sheep the most.

    Esther2018-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Tom' farm is a bit off the track and we spent some time to locate it. But once we found it, it proved to be a great start to the new year for us. The hamlet is beautiful and cozy, having all we needed. Tom is a very friendly host and gave good travel advice. Absolutely recommend.

  • Felt like we had stepped back in time staying in this lovely cottage. Perfect place to unwind.

    Jay2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Tom's place for a couple of nights and had an awesome time. Tom and family are super lovely and always on hand for tips and/or a chat. The cottage is lovely and perfect for a weekend or more away, we will definitely be back and recommend it to everyone.

  • Rustic beautiful old homestead surrounded by sheep. A kids paradise!

    Tracey2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is absolutely beautiful and Tom was a lovely host. The sheep were equally welcoming and the whole stay is more of an experience than just yet another overnight accommodation !

    Arnaud2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tom was a very good host and the Farmer's cottage was a fantastic little spot to get away from it all! It was clean and well appointed, but also very cosy. My fiancée and I loved the open space and Tom was on hand to help when required. The farm has some amazing history and we found Tom to be very welcoming. We can't wait to go back!

Unique 3 bedroom house in beautiful Birregurra. Only 3 minutes drive from Brae. Walk to the local pub, restaurants and shops. Play cricket, kick the footy or have a hit of tennis on the recreation centre across the road. Bring your clubs for a hit of golf and hit the surf only 30 minutes drive. Enjoy the local outdoor market every second Sunday of the month which has everything from hot food, ice cream, local fruits and vegetables as well as hand made produce. Charming country atmosphere.
3 bedrooms, large full kitchen, large living/lounging space with wood burning fire, comfortable leather couches and chairs. Lots of books to read or music to listen to. Relaxing, comfortable beds with extra bedding/blankets. The house has a story to tell. Originally it was built as a large industrial shed for local furniture maker Rodney Gray. Little bits were added on here and there including a show room (which is now the kitchen) then later a bigger show room ( now the living room ) other bedrooms were tacked on as required. The house is apart of the shed however it is completely walled off. Rodney was quite a well known character about town, often referred to as “The Gray Rat” as he was rather thin and spent most of his time amongst timber shavings. He dedicated a lot of his time to community projects, one of such the famous Birregurra Weekend Festival. Sadly he ran the festival from a scooter cart as his illness was beginning to take his life, determined to see out the festival he was and with great success. He is sadly missed. If you go the Royal Mail hotel feel free to ask any of the locals there in the bar about Rod and I’m sure they’ll happily tell you all a yarn or ten!
Across the road there is the Birregurra recreation reserve which includes football oval, cricket pitch and tennis court. A lovely stroll to the golf course. 2 blocks from the main st of Birregurra and 3 minutes drive to BRAE. 5 minutes walk to the Main Street So much to do in Birregurra and only 30 minutes drive to LORNE.
  • We absolutely loved our stay here. The house was absolutely gorgeous, very clean and tidy. Hosts were lovely and communication was fast. Would definitely stay here again :)

  • I had a great time staying at Nikky's place in Birregurra. I really enjoyed the large living space, cool objects and personal flair. You get the sense that the place is a work-in-progress but it's already good. Nikky made me feel right at home with easy check-in and check-out. Just 100 or so metres from the main Birregurra street too, so you easily walk to the local restaurants and pub.

  • Great place to stay, quite place off the highway with everything you need, great communication and directions from Anne-Marie

    David2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Anne-Marie's place is very nice. We were the only guests (there are 3 bedrooms) so we had the place to ourselves. The house is big and the bedroom comfortable. Everything was clean. The only thing is that we originally requested another room (slightly cheaper) and Anne-Marie asked us to book this one because she had already blocked the other rooms for guests. So we were surprised when we ended up being the only ones. But, no complaints, we had a lovely stay. Money well spent.

The host responded very quickly to messages and gave ample direction. The room we stayed in was well furnished and the bed was very comfortable. The shared spaces were large, clean and offered all that’s needed. Great value for money.

Rachael is a warming, welcoming host that will give you space and privacy as well as good chat and fun together! The house is beautifully decorated with Rachael’s personal collections, and everything is well maintained. The farm locates in a good location, close to the shops and everything you would need. • Just an amazing space, incredible eye for style and attention to the smaller details made the stay amazing. I was working in the region and wished I had more time just to spend in this house. Betty the oven - is a ripper, as well as the Bosch Dryer and Washing machine - T2 tea bags, as well as amazing body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Everything is thought of. Also I have to mention the pub, that and this house is a definite reason to just come to Beeac for the weekend. Thanks so much Lenny & Carmen - will be seeing you again

  • Gorgeous little cottage an Forrest. It is a near enough to the brewery to be a delight, but far enough not to be noisy. Also close to the chocolaterie and the bike tracks. The cottage itself is stylish and super comfy. From the cosy lounge room, to the outdoor deck overlooking the paddocks where we could relax with a glass of wine. It was lovely.

30 acres of magnificent Otway Forest just 15 minutes from Lorne. Attractions include our walking track with creek and scenic views. Enjoy our native parrots and kangaroos. This place is great for family holidays or a couples getaway. Each cabin has its own special views, wood burning BBQ and outdoor setting. All cabins are set far enough apart to maintain privacy. Secluded, romantic getaways or just peace and quiet at a budget price.
  • We loved our stay at Phil and Christine’s place. Phil is so friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, with great tips on where to eat. The property is gorgeous and plenty of local wildlife to keep you entertained. Nice to switch off and enjoy the bush. Thanks Phil and Christine!!

    Gemma2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Such a stunning location! Phil is a delight - he is so positive, helpful & and just an all round top guy. If you love nature & being surrounded by beautiful birds, roos & wildlife, the cabins are for you. The cabins are very clean and fully functional. Only a 15 minute drive into Lorne centre - one night Phil arranged return taxis for us which was super helpful. Would definitely recommend as it is such amazing value for money!

    Liss2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a nice spot over there - to be in the middle of nature, but with all the basic comforts inside the cabin. A short drive to Lorne for a morning coffee or evening dining. Best suited for those who want to almost completely retreat from the noice and distractions of modern city life. Even Internet is not available, unless on the bad mobile network connection.

    Corneliu2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place, is super recommendable for everyone thinking of going here.

    Ezequiel2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to relax with plenty of room compared to a hotel. Loved the wood fired bbq , and to be able to feed the king parrots on the balcony and watch kangaroos bouncing around.

    Peter2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • The place is great for a quiet getaway. Fresh air , quiet and peaceful.

    Pyry2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Situated in lovely Bush land and about 20 minutes from Lorne we really enjoyed our stay. It was great to have birds come up to the deck and see kangaroos about. Phil was fantastic and made us feel very welcome.

    Chris2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • A chalet in the heart of the forest, birds of all colors on the balcony, kangaroos and exceptional calm. Phil welcomes you with a smile and informs you about the activities in the surroundings. At disposal there is a table tennis table, a basketball hoop ... We had a great time.

The host family are nice people and easy to communicate. Good location in town, worth a short stay. • Our stay at Yan Yurt Farm was a treat. From the warm welcome we received on arrival, the walk around the farm, our visit to the Cobb house (a must see) and chatting around the camp fire with new friends. A cosy bed at the end of a long day followed by a delicious breakfast next morning consisting of home made muesli, freshly baked bread, fruit, and yoghurt. Our visit to the more than a century old wool shed was an education as was watching Andrew tend his sheep. The farm has been in the family for 6 generations so you will get all the information on the local area from Jill and Andrew. The home itself is a comfortable homstead style, spacious and rustic with creature comforts. Ideally located a short drive to Lorne and the Great Ocean Road.

    Rosemary2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the farm. Each day started out with a nice breakfast with freshly baked bread. Jill and Andrew provided lots of local tips of what to see and do in the surrounding area. Learning about their 115 year long history on the farm as well as the farm tour was a highlight. The entire family is very dedicated to the environment which was great to see. Definitely recommend staying here, something different from the typical Great Ocean Road stays!

    Anja2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • A very good place to be for just some days when you need a break or also for a longer stay.

    Gela2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a working farm and if you want to learn about sheep farming and experience rural life this is the place for you. Great hospitality, good breakfast. Quick to respond to emails and gave good suggestions about local attractions. Would stay again.

    Heather2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed two great days at Yan Yan Gurt. The hospitality of Jill and Andrew is exceptional. We felt very welcome at their home. Their way of living and managing the farm is very inspiring. The room is cozy and the shared kitchen clean and well equipped with everything you need. The breakfast that Jill and Andrew provide is just a perfect start into the day: fresh peaches from their trees, organic yoghurt and bread, jam, butter, etc. We definitely recommend everyone to stay their - it is a perfect place for making unforgettable memories.

    Daniel2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jill’s farm is about 1 hour driving from Lorne and we caught one of the most amazing sunset on the way to the farm. The stay was really cosy and Jill welcomed us warmly, it is perfect for road trip and people like farm stay.

  • Great place great people ! Lovely time together !

    Stan2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jill is a wonderful host with a friendly demeanour who made us feel very welcome. The room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. We shared the bathroom with the family but at no time did we feel uncomfortable. There were ample options for breakfast that Jill had put out for us and she also has an awesome tea mixture that she makes herself. This is a working farm and we appreciated everything that Jill provided.

Quirky, Three storey tree house, hand crafted from local timber and vintage train carriage parts. Character rich, comfortable and FUN. The town of Forrest offers world class mountain biking. Ride in-ride out from the house. It also has some great food, coffee and a Brewery. Explore the Great Ocean Road and Otways Hinterland. Stunning waterfalls and natural attractions.
Note: The nightly price on the top right is mid week, off peak, with a small group. AirBnB adjusts pricing with these variables. Otways Loft was specifically bought, renovated and set up for holiday accommodation, the long awaited sister property to Liptrap Loft (National winner of Peoples Choice 2014 + Romance 2013 + state winner of Outdoor Lovers 2012). It is not 5 star luxury, but we can say with confidence that it is unique. The builder lived in a shed using the train carriage as a workshop whist building the house. It is an eclectic construction built on a framework of tree poles in a triangular pattern. The interior is a mixture of train parts, local timber and salvaged materials. Every shingle over the house and train was hand cut from the forest. It was a labour of love. Forrest is set in the hinterland behind the Great Ocean Road. It is a gorgeous small town of weatherboard shacks, surrounded by towering Mountain Ash rain-forest with lush ferny under-story. The dawn birdsong is deafening. There is a lot to do around Forrest even if you are not a mountain biker. Spoil yourself and make it a long weekend. Take the Great Ocean Road home on Monday when there is no one around. We scoured Victoria to find a property to match Liptrap Loft in unique character & charm. We think we have found it. There is still work to do, to get it to where we want it, but if you are not precious ;0) we think guests will enjoy the house and love Forrest. Special features include : - free standing claw foot bath in master bedroom ( with a lovely view over the green yard and landscape) - newly renovated bathroom - Wood fired heater with wood supply included - air con/split system in lounge room - Fully equipped kitchen. Oven/Stove. Dishwasher - Kitchen aid mixer. Juicer - washing machine and dryer - WiFi - Italian style stove-top coffee maker and French press (plunger) - Basic provisions like olive oil, spices, tea, coffee, Vegemite and Glad Wrap - Lush garden, fenced but not dog proof. There is a purpose built dog run on the veranda - With great regret we no longer offer the four free bikes. The expectation of having bikes in good working order was a service we could not reliably offer without living nearby and maintaining them between guests. Bring your own mountain bikes or you can hire bikes at Forrest Hire Bikes, two minutes walk away. - Piano - Pets and children welcome. BEDDING 3 bedroom (with a 4th loft/space but no door) - upstairs master bedroom with claw foot bath . King bed, that can split into 2 singles -upstairs reading room with balcony has two singles which can also be zipped together to convert to a king. -Down stairs is a third bedroom with a queen bed. -There is also a loft with a loft ladder and double futon. This is available as another bedroom for someone nimble. It is not suitable for elderly, but kids love it. Pricing includes linen. Total - 6 single beds (two of which convert to King beds), 1 queen bed and one double futon. The train carriage next door is also available for holiday rental. See the AirBnb listing: Steam Carriage In The Otways https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/7294998 The two properties can be rented together for larger groups. Together the properties can sleep up to 14 guests ( but ideal for a total of 10-12). If you have instagram, you can follow both our guests and our personal stays at @dufflebird_getaways
Forrest was a logging town until a decade ago. Since then it has been reinvigorated as the center for mountain biking in the state. World class mountain bike trails surround the town like ski runs at a snow resort. The town is surrounded by gorgeous lush rain-forest, with massive gum trees, teeming with wildlife like kangaroos, koalas, wombats, wallaby's and echidnas. Scores of birds pass through the garden all day. Forrest is full of gorgeous birds.

  • My sisters and I had the best time at Fleur's place! Absolutely slipped into another time period while staying here. One minute we were stressed on the city highway, and next minute we were baking pies and puddings, playing the piano and watching local goats. Was especially beautiful walking to the reservoir and getting to know some locals in town. Cannot recommend enough.

  • Absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful accomodation. Fleur was a fantastic and very helpful host. The amenities were lovely and clean and the kitchen was very well equiped. Very close walk to the Local store and Brewery. Overall a fantastic family holiday in beautiful Forrest.

  • What a beautiful place! We had the most peaceful and relaxing stay at Fleur & Mike's. Waking up to birdsong every morning and sitting around the fire playing cards and drinking wine at night - LOVE that there is NO TV! Fabulous kitchen with everything you could need, including handy condiments like olive oil, salt & pepper, herbs & spices etc. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower cozy and the chairs on the deck lovely to relax on while the sun went down. The location is spot on with loads of lovely walks only a short distance away. The town itself is quaint and lovely. Wish we could have stayed longer than two nights but we will definitely be back and next time with friends! Highly recommend!

Take a step back in time, to bygone era, where life was simpler, where people spent time with dignified entertainment and life seemed to have more space and time. Welcome back to the great age of Steam. The train was used as a workshop, when the original owner was building the house next door (also a Dufflebird property, Otway's Loft). In 2015 we renovated the derelict carriage to the vaguely steam-punk style holiday accommodation. It is available year round and can sleep up to 6 guests.
When we started renovating, the carriage did not have enough intact to restore it, so we have developed our own style that is vaguely steam-punk influenced. It took nine months to renovate the train from a pretty ragged start. Almost every surface had to have something done to it, and we found that carriages were really tightly put together (all that rattling) and hard to pull apart. When we did get panels off, we had no idea what we would find. We completely stripped and rewired the electrical, and did plumbing from scratch. Renovating anything over 100 years will have its challenges, but this was exceptional. It was opened for guests in July 2015. It is still a work in progress, there is a lot more to do before it reaches our vision, but we have been astounded by it's popularity. Special features include : - Can sleep 6 but 2 or 4 would be more comfortable. See Sleeping Options below. - 3 Bedrooms. Two in a single compartment with a double compartment master bed room. Two Queen beds, two thin train singles. - Full linen service with beds made up for you on arrival. - Bathroom with shower - Open plan kitchen/living room - Wood fire box heater with wood supply included - Full small kitchen with stove, oven, sink, fridge and cupboards - WiFi - Italian Stove top coffee maker and French Press (plunger) - Basic provisions like olive oil, spices, tea, coffee, Vegemite and Glad Wrap With great regret we no longer offer the four free bikes. The expectation of having bikes in good working order was a service we could not reliably offer without living nearby and maintaining them between guests. Bring your own mountain bikes or you can hire bikes at Forrest Hire Bikes, two minutes walk away. - Pets and children welcome. The yard is fenced but a clever dog could easily escape. NO TV. There is a stereo, books and board games. There is not a washing machine, nor dryer. Steam, certainly wont be for everyone, but we have had great feedback from the young and the young at heart. There seems to be a great fondness for the "Great Age of Steam", when locomotives were king! In the late 1800's trains were the greatest technological achievement of humans, they opened new horizons, and were a symbol of power and progress. We hope we have tapped in to this, and we're excited to be able to share it with guests. If you have instagram, you can follow both our guests and our personal stays at @dufflebird_getaways
Forrest is a gorgeous small town of weatherboard shacks, surrounded by towering Mountain Ash rain forest with lush ferny under-story. The dawn birdsong is deafening. There is a lot to do around Forrest even if you are not a mountain biker. Ten Things To Do •Walk around Lake Elizabeth or take the platypus tour. •Go mountain biking on Victoria’s best trail network. With great regret we no longer offer the four free bikes. The expectation of having bikes in good working order was a service we could not reliably offer without living nearby and maintaining them between guests. Bring your own mountain bikes or you can hire bikes at Forrest Hire Bikes, two minutes walk away. •Visit Otways Fly and zip line (Longest and highest rainforest sky walk in the world ) •Bushwalk to waterfalls and Redwood Forest. (Hopetoun Falls, Triplet Falls, Beauchamp Falls, Stevenson Falls). •Forrest Historic Walk •Visit local Wineries and Berry Farms •Forrest Brewery for lunch •Forrest Guesthouse for weekend degustation lunch or dinner. •Brae Restaurant •Spoil yourself and make it a long weekend. Take the Great Ocean Road home on Monday when there is no one around.
  • Steam carriage is really different - and a great way to spend a few days in Forrest to explore the fantastic Otway.

    Stretch2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A really unique and 'cool' place to stay in the lovely township of Forrest. The carriage has a lovely feel to it, lots of original features but all the mod cons you need as well. The very comfy beds with high quality bedding and the silence of the country gave us a wonderful nights sleep. We took our dog with us and he had ball. The plot isn't securely fenced yet but I believe the owners are planning do that soon. Would definitely stay there again.

    Hilary2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Steam was even better than it looked it the photos, and it was obvious a lot of thought has been put into the details of every part of the carriage. Fleur also provided a lot of local tips. Highly recommended!

    Alice2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. The mosquito is a little bit more. Always pay attention to close the door all the time. Except for that, everything is fantastic.

    Shanqi2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The best, most thoughtful host I’ve ever had. From local tips to the little touches on the property, you can tell that Fleur really cares about the place and everyone that stays here. It was the perfect weekend.

    David2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Steam Carriage exceeded all of our expectations for the better, and it truly was the most fun we have ever had at an AirBnB. The original 1920s steam carriage character has been preserved beautifully, while having fully functioning modern day luxuries i.e. waterfall rain shower head, heating, a full sized gas oven & stovetop. Our favourite addition to the carriage was the firebox. Forest itself is a perfectly quant town of just 230, perfect if you wanted to get away from it all or use it as a base for the Otways & Great Ocean Road. Highly recommend Fleur for her communication, and for such a unique stay!

    Aaron2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • This train carriage is full of charm. From eating breakfast outside to the nighttime games by the fire place. Not to mention such a great location. Recommended.

  • I’m in two minds about recommending this place as it is so nice I want to keep it a secret. Stunning views, stylish accommodation, wood fire and exceptionally comfortable. Nicest place I’ve stayed on AirBnb and Sue gave us a very warm welcome. A must stay for anyone visiting Forest.

    Chris2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sue’s place was amazing. It definitely exceeded our expectations and was spacious for a group of 3. It was comfortable and we were surrounded by lovely views. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Great Ocean Road.

  • Sue was a lovely host. We loved the cottage, especially the cosy fireplace and great views! Highly recommended.

    Margot2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sue is an excellent host. The cottage was spotless and so spacious. The perfect ending to our day was watching the sunset on the deck with a glass of wine. The scenery was the perfect backdrop. However, the highlight of my stay was seeing a little koala in the tree beside the cottage. Such a beautiful idyllic place to spend the long weekend. Highly recommend!

  • If you’re looking for a romantic getaway, in nature and with a fire place, this is your place to go! I did some yoga on the patio, with an amazing view over the valley. Highly recommended.

    Iris2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sue’s place exceeded our expectations. Check in and out was so easy and Sue came to greet us on arrival and make sure everything was okay which was lovely. The view was spectacular! Especially watching the sunset from the deck over a wine and dinner. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything you could think of and the cottage was very spacious for two couples. Sue’s local tips were spot on and she was very easy to communicate with. Highly recommended and hope to stay again soon.

    Jenna2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sue’s cottage was idyllically stunning! The views and ambiance were a delight, and the place made coming home at the end of the day feel comforting and warm. The kitchen is well equiped and the two ensuite bathrooms gave us that little extra space. Perfect for a couple or a couple of couples, there’s plenty of local tips to enjoy a beautiful stay in Forrest. Yaugher View was sparklingly clean as well, which just made everything feel as tranquil as the rolling hills that surround it. Sue was a wonderful host, it was lovely to briefly meet her as well. Thanks again for a lovely stay, we can’t wait to come back!

    Jordan2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Sue’s place, it was very comfortable, had all the facilities we needed and lovely rural views to enjoy while having a wine or beer at night. • We had a lovely stay at Graeme’s place in Birregurra. The house is perfect for a getaway, with ample space for 4 people. There was a bowl of fruit ready for us when we arrived and the house was well stocked with other provisions. The house is sparkling clean, the beds very comfortable with high quality bedding. Graeme has beehives and we sampled amazing honey and purchased a few bottles to bring home. The gardens are truely beautiful and the bird life amazing - we saw lots of different parrots and honey eaters. We loved staying here over our new year holiday.

    Vanessa2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in John’s house was a fantastic experience and I have to say it’s absolutely much better than my expectation in terms of cleanness, tidiness, convenience, space and just everything. We had arrived late in the evening and had a little problem of finding the house. I called John for some helps and he was very patient giving me the instruction and finally we had found the house, for which I was grateful! The house is located near a small park and next door to the primary school, there’s a big lawn in front of the house which it’s amazing. The house is clean and you can find everything needed easily for your stay. I love John’s place and I would come back next time when traveling the Great Ocean Road.

  • A good fun place to stay in a great location for mountain biking. Ryan and Nicole were particularly good at communicating check in details and were quick to respond to any queries.

  • Stayed two nights here and wish we could have stayed longer! The tiny house was cute and comfortable and had everything we needed. Definitely stay again if we are in the area. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet holiday close to the Otways.

  • We booked the Tiny House for some guests while the rest of us stayed in the main house. Our guests really enjoyed their stay! The house had everything they needed, was warm and comfortable, and gave them their own space and privacy. They enjoyed waking up to the sound of kookaburras, and we were lucky enough to spot a koala too! The location of the property is a real drawcard, being right next to Forrest's famous mountain bike trails. The booking process was smooth and Ryan was easy to deal with.

Our beautiful farmstay offers accommodation for 4 guests comfortably (1 extra child or adult can be accommodated by request) in a private self contained bungalow in the Otways. Our farm is set on 16 scenic acres and is close to mountain bike trails, close to Forrest, horse riding trails and the 12 Apostles. The Old Beechy Rail Trail just a short walk away and the Otway Fly is nearby. You can mix with our animals walking around the farm or you can drive to Beech Forest see waterfalls & Redwoods.
Our home is a Farmstay, so expect livestock. We have cows and horses and of course, our dogs who help us with our cows. We produce honey, so there are bees in bushes and flowers nearby. We also offer a Breakfast Hamper made up with some of our home produce. Ask us about what’s available for you when you arrive.
We are on the edge of the Otway Ranges so there is lots of bush and wildlife. Lots of lovely walks and trail bike rides.
  • Clinton and Sue were amazing knowledgeable hosts, they provided directions and information about the area. Clinton was great for a chat about the interesting workings and projects of the farm. The bungalow was clean and they provided the essentials we needed which helped with the things we forgot. For people staying we would recommend some aeroguard for outdoors as there are a lot of bugs around, We would also recommend getting a breakfast hamper off Clinton and Sue as the fresh produce were delicious! loved their little dog Alfie also.

    Gabriela2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place is an absolute gem between the unraveling bushland. The space is cozy and comfortable, with little touches like the little fire cooker. Alfie, the house dog, is a wonderful companion and all the animals around are sweet to meet. Sue and Clinton has been an amazing host, providing us with all the information we needed for our journey. What a great experience!

    Jerome2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Clinton and Sue are incredibly accomodating hosts, even when I asked him to prepare a breakfast basket at a moments notice (which was delightful)! Their place is beautifully kept and the surrounding areas are beautiful, it is a very peaceful place to stay and plenty of animals to keep you company. Alfie their dog is a 'must see' as are the miniature goats. Would happily go back. Thank you again, to you both!

  • Very nice experience. Very clean cottage and has everything you need. Highly recommended

    Lili2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage looked cute from the outside, but we were pleasantly surprised by the interior - it was larger than expected, 2 rooms, a living room space, and a nice large kitchen/dining area. It comfortably fit 5 adults and a dog throughout the stay. The cottage is situated in Garry's expansive farm and close to the Red Rock scenic lookout point for breathtaking views (you could easily walk up 40 minutes return trip, or take a 5 minutes drive up). Amenities were great and kitchen was particularly well equipped. We all truly enjoyed our stay and I definitely would recommend this place. Will personally be back some day.

  • Beautiful farm stay, perfect escape. Woke up to a paddock of cows out the window. Homely, cosy cottage

    Eva2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint, cosy, peaceful cottage-relaxing country views with our wine & cheese..perfect for a short stay.

    Cathy2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was interesting to us because my husband is a scientist and it used to be a research outpost belonging to Monash uni. The history of the place, its location on a lovely farm just by Red Rock and Lake Corangamite, and the stellar communication from Garry and Sharyn make this a place worth staying at if you’re interested in getting off the beaten track while touring Great Ocean Road.

    Jasmyne2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place to stay at, location is central to all sights around and the night sky is super beautiful! The hosts were very responsive and gave us recommendations on where to eat and what to see. Enjoyed our stay here! Thanks for hosting us :)

Our original, freshly renovated farmhouse sits quietly on the banks of the Barwon River near Birregurra, close to town yet tucked completely away down it's own road. It is part of our working family farm, and we hope you'll enjoy, depending on when you visit, seeing sheep and cattle grazing, canola or wheat flowering or just enjoy the serenity and space! We are about 3 mins drive from Birregurra and Yield Restaurant and 5 mins to Brae Restaurant, 30 mins to Lorne and the Great Ocean Road.
The house sleeps ten people - one king size bedroom, two Queen size bedrooms, and a room with a set of bunks and single + trundle. A good size living room with open fire, and a dining room that sits ten with a wood heater. A full kitchen with all utensils and facilities provided for your use. Two freshly renovated, spacious bathrooms, one with a deep bath, another with separate toilet and shower. There is an office with desk available, and a huge verandah overlooking the river to while away the hours outdoors. Outdoors you'll find seating, a fire pit, and a bbq for your use (by request). * Need babysitting? We are happy to help arrange a trusted local babysitter or babysit for you if we are available for an extra charge. (Mum of three and primary school teacher.) * If you would like to organise a local hamper or send-dinner box from @fernandgum www.fernandgum.com.au we can arrange for it to be in the house ready for your arrival. *Find us on Instagram @yalloakhouse.
Birregurra is perfectly placed to explore the Great Ocean Road or Otways, dine at Brae Restaurant or Yield. Our farm is close to town, and so you have the opportunity to get a taste of farm life, while being minutes from all Birregurra has to offer. (We are 4km by road from the pub/general store!)
  • This is an excellent property in Birregurra. We were so relaxed here. The serenity was just what we needed for a weekend away. Excellent spot if you are in town to dine at Brae. If you are looking for an countryside escape this is a perfect choice!

    Chaz2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • A stunning property about 5 mins by car from Main Street, Birregurra and 10 mins to Brae. The house is large and comfortable for 8 to 10. Emily supplied many thoughtful touches like fresh bread and milk. A working fire pit was lovely to sit around at night. Emily can share great stories about the history of the house and property if you’re interested — which we were. Very comfy and super quiet. We had a great stay.

    Emma2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely adored our stay at Emily's farm house. It is a beautiful property with lovely trees all around the house, a fire pit for when it is cool outside and a creek near by. We especially enjoyed toasting marshmallows and watching up at the incredible night sky to spot satellites or shooting stars (both just as fun). Check in was a breeze with great communication and Emily suggested some local activities, including dining at Yield (which was fabulous!). The house is well set up, really nicely decorated and with everything you need for a weekend. The beds were especially comfortable and full block out blinds meant a lovely sleep in. I would definitely come back with more friends, next time to try Brae. Thank you Emily for a great stay. We will be back :)

  • Emily's place was lovely, spacious and super clean. The host left us a loaf of fresh bread milk and homemade jam in the fridge. Such a thoughtful touch. Communication was prompt and excellent. We truly appreciated the local tips. This place is a wonderful hideout in a peaceful country setting and easy to get to. Close to town and only a 6 min drive to Brae restaurant. The fireplace was great too. Highly recommend it.
