Situated on a 6 acre site, close to Stamford, Oundle, Peterborough Business Park and The East of England Showground, we rebuilt this barn brick by brick in 2018. This is an end bedroom which offers its own access separate from our main family home. The bedroom is spacious with a good sized en-suite shower room. The room has vaulted ceilings and is light and airy with its own heating controls. Parking is available on site for a number of vehicles to include horse boxes and boats&event trailers.
The room is fully furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside tables. We have included a microwave and kettle with tea and coffee making facilities. The room has its own access from outside and it sown underfloor heating controls to set the temperate to your own comfort. There is a shared patio and garden of which the garden is still under construction.
Located just a few miles off the A1 and A605 we are ideally located for a break whilst travelling or if you are needing Stamford, Oundle, Peterborough Business Park or the East of England Showground. There are some good restaurants within a 5 minute drive including Loch Fyne, The Cuckoo at Alwalton and The Harvester at the Showground.
  • Nice room, in a rural location outside of the city. Lovely hosts. Lots of building works when we were there, but when that's all sorted it could be very impressive. We enjoyed our two night stay and will go back to sample the new units when they are finished.

In the grounds of Northamptonshire's oldest house and one of the longest inhabited houses in the UK. If history is your thing we have it in abundance. We love people and look forward to welcoming you to somewhere a bit different. The price doesn't include breakfast but guests are welcome to tea, coffee, toast and jam.
The lodgings is a 500 year old building originally used for guests to the Prebendal Manor up stairs and for animals downstairs. These days it is a family home with many interesting features. We have proper walls, beams galore and a spiral staircase. We are in the grounds of the Prebendal Manor and guests are welcome to use the gardens, which are particularly beautiful in June when the roses are in full bloom.
Nassington is a beautiful village that has a village shop, butcher and a couple of pubs that serve food. There are numerous pubs in surrounding villages that also serve food and we are happy to help if you need suggestions on where to eat.

Cherrill & Graham offer you a beautifully appointed self contained stone built annex, in the unspoilt village of Cotterstock, 2 miles from the historic market town of Oundle, 1.5 miles from Fotheringhay and 12 miles from Peterborough. The detached annex comprises a double bed, small sofa, TV and DVD player, en suite shower room. A fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle & WI-FI are supplied to facilitate a comprehensive continental breakfast. We look forward to giving you a warm & friendly welcome.
The stone built annex has it's own entrance to ensure complete privacy and independence. For those wishing a more personal stay we are in the adjacent cottage and are always available to give advice on the historic area and what to see and where to eat in the local area. The cottage and annex back onto open fields and the view is stunning. There are plenty of lovely walks close by for those who enjoy early morning exercise.
Cotterstock is a very quiet village, it has no street lights or a bus service. It has a historic 12th century church with a recently refurbished ring of six bells. It is close in proximity to the beautiful historic town of Oundle with its famous Public School and world renowned Music Festival, it is central to the numerous pretty villages surrounding it. Beautiful Stamford is close by and the historic George Coaching is well worth a visit, as are fascinating antique shops.
  • Definitely will return

  • The cottage was just as it is pictured and described on the site. Though it is not a huge building, everything from microwave and toaster to wardrobe and fridge are organized so well that it doesn't feel cramped. The heating and light (two of the best things about this cottage) were just as you would imagine them looking at the picture--a perfect contrast to a bleak, grey day outside. The bathroom (and all the premises) were spotless, and I wish I had this shower in my house. We spent a lot of morning time in the cottage because it was comfortable and a great place to do some floor exercises and read or listen to the radio. The hosts were extremely available to help with any little thing, but we also had privacy in that the cottage is completely separate and has its own gate and entrance. It was perfect for our needs and a lovely little village.

  • Everything just perfect. From the outstanding welcome and extra touches in the gorgeous 'Barn' to the location so close to Oundle and all the surrounding countryside. My A1 destination for another time.

  • Very welcoming and helpful hosts. Everything I needed for a 2 night business stay, and more.

    Vicky2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Graham was a superb host, he was helpful from start to finish. My partner and I were at a wedding in oundle, he offered to give us a lift there which was very kind. It is the little bits like that that made our stay amazing. He welcomed us and showed us around the barn and he left a document with lots of information about the local area. There were plenty of things to drink and bits for breakfast in the fridge. The room is nice and warm, the bed is very comfy and the shower is great. This was our first AirBnB stay and Graham has set the bar very high. Thank you!

Please join us and stay in my beautiful country cottage, a 200 year old barn which has been converted into a unique living space. My home is situated in a 'picture postcard' village but only 15 mins drive (8 miles west) from Peterborough city centre. Ideal for business visits or attending events at the East of England showground. The village is quiet and peaceful, it boasts an Elizabethan Stately home, Elton Hall, two public houses, a church, chapel and local shop..
I'm offering a studio room with futon bed in my delightful barn conversion. Continental breakfast included. The room is situated on the 2nd floor, mezzanine area with access to an outdoor balcony. It is open plan above my lounge, no door to staircase, so not totally enclosed, but is private. The nearest toilet/shower is 2 floors away and thus not ideal for someone who may need access to a toilet at night, or small children.
Elton is a picturesque village, which is to be found some seven miles to the west of Peterborough. The village is quiet and peaceful, despite the close proximity of the busy A605 The village boasts an Elizabethan Stateley home, Elton Hall, two excellent public houses, two village greens, a few shops, a chapel and All Saints church.
  • Steve is a friendly and welcoming host. The converted barn is very impressive and the village of Elton very quaint.

A sweet, small double room in the heart of Oundle.
The house is in the middle of Oundle: Oundle School, The Stahl Theatre, The Chapel and numerous eateries are within minutes walking distance. My house is peaceful, and guests can expect plenty of privacy and calm. The room has Wi Fi and an Amazon Echo (ask Alexa to play your favourite music or radio station). I provide towels, hair shampoo and a hair-drier; if you forget anything, I hope I can provide it. I'd like to think you could stay with me on a whim, without even having packed a bag.
  • Pam’s cottage is absolutely delightful. Very quaint and cozy, with a great kitchen and lovely authentic touches. It’s location in Oundle is fantastic, very peaceful and easy to locate. Definitely recommended.

    Paul2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Pam is one of the loveliest lady’s, her home is welcoming and wonderfully traditional. The bed is simply out of this world and SO comfortable with beautiful linen and pillows. The room is cosy with a good sized bathroom en suite. In the morning Pam laid out home made bread and jam for me - yummy. Tea and coffee available for guests. Pam is very helpful and goes the extra mile. Highly recommended and will dream of that bed until I next visit.

  • Pam thoughtfully for the guests. After receiving the reservation, send me a message explaining the detailed route. Because I arrived late, I was afraid that I could not find a parking space. I moved my car away in advance, reserved a parking space for me, and put the bed in advance and put it in a warm water bag. Sleep. The house is clean, warmly furnished and affectionate, a very warm and warm stay experience. Pam is very thoughtful for the guests. After receiving the reservation, send me a message to introduce the detailed route. Because I arrived late, afraid I couldn't find a parking space, She moved her car away in advance, helped me to reserve the parking space, and made the bed and put it into the warm water bag in advance, which made us have a warm and comfortable sleep for one night. The house is clean, the layout is warm and emotional, and it is a very warm and warm accommodation experience.

In a quiet mews near to A1 in the village of Wansford. You will have a private shower and toilet,a study with chaise and armchair.Tv in bedroom ,WiFi Breakfast can either be in the study or downstairs overlooking the garden. I have a small dog and a cat.The dog will bark if he hears odd noises but he is very friendly..just a bit of a whoose. There are two public houses ,a coffee lounge and a hotel in this very small village, harking back to the days when it was on the main A1 posting route
This property is located in a small village with mainly 19th century cottages lining the broad street. There is a beautiful 18th century stone bridge crossing the river Nene. It is close to Burghley House and park and also to the East of England show ground.I am afraid parking is limited immediately by the house, but you can park on the village road some 25 yards away.
Unique posting village of historical importance a lot of the cottages were built for the Duke of Bedfords estate workers
  • Maggie is a lovely lady very helpful and welcomes you into her home along with bingo. Her home is in a lovely mews and is clean. Breakfast was delicious and my host was very attentive. I would highly recommend a visit if you’re travelling through the area. You’ll enjoy meeting Bingo too!

  • What a lovely house with the perfect, kind, attentive host! The accommodation was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and a lovely mix of contemporary and homely. The location was ideal for my work in Peterborough and time spent with both Maggi and her wonderful little companion (Bingo the dog) was much appreciated and very much enjoyed. I would highly recommend Maggi's house for a stay, whether for work or leisure purposes. The whole experience couldn't have been nicer for me.

Stay in one of the UK's oldest houses. A beautiful high ceilinged room with an en-suite bathroom in Northamptonshire's oldest house. Dating back to the 13th century the house is unique and out of the ordinary. Thick walls, beams and large fireplaces are the norm. NB The price doesn't include breakfast but guests are welcome to tea, coffee, toast and jam.
The Prebendal Manor is an 800 year old building dating back to 1230 with many historical connections. Originally owned by Lincoln Cathedral these days it is ya family home with many interesting features. We have proper walls, a medieval hall, church windows and large fireplaces.
Nassington is a beautiful village that has a village shop, butcher and a couple of pubs that serve food. There are numerous pubs in surrounding villages that also serve food and we are happy to help if you need suggestions on where to eat.
  • This was a perfect place to stopover on our way to Leicester. I would have loved to have stayed a bit longer. Jane is a very interesting host, and the house is full of fascinating history. The room was beautiful, bed really comfortable, and the hospitality great. And my grandson loved the friendly cat. Would very much recommend this a somewhere different to stay.

    Karen2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house was stunning. The history is amazing and its full of incredibly old and wonderful stories and artefacts. The location is great, lovely and rural with plenty of countryside and places to visit around the local area and slightly further afield. Jane (the mother) who met us and provided the tour was lovely. She had so much knowledge of the house and the history. She was interactive, friendly, welcoming and very polite. It is great to have use of the kitchen if you so wish and having cereal, jam and toast in the morning provided was a nice touch. Her son James was again friendly and welcoming which made the stay even more inviting. Having the owners around was good but also gave you freedom and space. There is copious parking, its easy to find and I can imagine the gardens in the summer will be beautiful. Would definitely recommend especially at such a reasonable price and particularly if you are in to history.

    Rachel2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really well kept manor house in a small village beside a church with Free parking in the yard. Jane was very nice and willing to talk with us. There is a cute cat in the house which is a bonus.

  • We had a lovely short break at Prebendal Manor. Jane was a very amiable host, and kindly gave us a tour of the house and grounds, and was able to tell us a lot about its fascinating history. We felt it was a bit of a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity to stay somewhere so characterful! The room was spacious and comfortable, and we appreciated the cereal and toast for breakfast. A must stay for history buffs!

Visit the Talbot hotel with the famous staircase that Mary queen of scots walked down and Fotheringhay Castle where she was beheaded to name just a couple of interesting points.
  • This a lovely apartment in a lovely village setting. The apartment is exceptionally well equipped, clean and comfortable and the host is attentive and helpful. The local pub serves good food and the market town of Oundle is a short drive. I would certainly return for another stay

    Richard2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our short stay here. The host was amazing, great communication before with helpful instructions on how to find the place. It was extremely clean and there were loads of really thoughtful touches from the host to make the stay even better. I couldn't recommend it any higher.

  • The accommodation is nice and spacious and in a very peaceful setting. Sandra is an amazing host and really goes the extra mile if you need anything. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need making it feel a true home from home.

  • Really nice place, Sandra made me feel really welcome on arrival

    Mike2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra’s home was lovely for our 1 night stay over New Year’s Eve. The house was immaculate and had everything you could possibly need. All of her special touches including breakfast and even having all of the shower amenities really made a difference to our stay. The location was beautiful and quiet, just how we wanted to spend New Years. There is a local pub nearby - a 5 minute walk, the drinks were really cheap, the atmosphere was great as everyone seemed to be locals and know eachother. Overall we were really pleased with our stay here and would definitely recommend and would like to go back! Thanks Sandra :-)

    Aimée2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable well spaced accommodation with thoughtful touches.

A fully equipped kitchen, with tea coffee etc. I can arrange use of my washing machine for a fee. A large lounge diner, tv offering sky and netflix, guests are welcome to use my games, books and dvd's On the galleried mezzanine is the BEDROOM, OFFERING EITHER A SUPERKING OR 2 X SINGLES (PLEASE STATE PREFERENCE) and a shower room. There is a patio garden for guest use.
Oundle is a beautiful old market town, with a market every Thursday and a farmer's market the 2nd Saturday of every month. We host the Oundle International literary and arts festival every year in July, as well as various other festivals and events throughout the year. The town has a good website with all the information you could need or want for these events. The church, St. Peters, which is just behind me, is over 800 years old, and its spire is the highest in Northamptonshire. In the nearby village of Fotheringhay you will find the little mound which is all that remains of its castle, the place where Mary Queen of Scots was beheaded. One of its staircases now resides in the Talbot hotel in Oundle, and it has been reported that some guests have seen her spirit coming down them. Also nearby is Lyveden New Beild, the unfinished house of Sir Thomas Tresham the father of Francis Tresham, one of the gun powder plot conspirators. We have many other wonderful villages in our immediate vicinity, well worth exploring, full of history and the beautiful limestone houses which has earned the area the nickname 'The little Cotswolds'.

Enjoy a stay within The Old British School House in the vibrant Market town of Oundle. The house is situated within walking distance of the town centre, which offers many unique shops, bars, restaurants & regular markets. The house is located at the end of a cul de sac in a "no through" way, so there are no passers by or traffic near the house. We offer breakfast basics, chateau sourced wine, & White Company bed linen for a great nights rest.
There are ballustrades each side of the house so it is not recommended for toddlers.
Oundle is a beautiful stone built market town divided by alleyways & courtyards. Surrounding villages, ancient woodland and the River Nene mean there is so much to explore. Lyveden New Bield, Apethorpe Palace and many amazing old English pubs are just a few points of interest within a 5 mile radius. The house is in the heart of Oundle, so you can step out the house and walk to Beans Coffee Shop, Barnwell Country Park or the Talbot Inn.
  • Charming oasis to relax in. Great kitchen facilities, lovely large dining table, comfortable sofa and double bed. Great location for Oundle centre without actually being on the high street. Will definitely return!

  • This was one of my favourite Airbnb experiences. It surpassed my expectations and was the perfect place to spend Christmas with the family. The house has such a nice vibe, we instantly felt comfortable the second we walked in through the front door. Clara was super helpful throughout the whole experience and even brought some extra chairs for our Christmas dinner last minute! Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience - it really felt like a home away from home. ❤️

  • Great location, Syeda was an amazing host and we enjoyed our stay very much

    Greer2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Syeda's place was amazing, and Syeda was a fantastic host. We were staying here ahead of the Tour of Cambridgeshire, and it was a good location to get to the start at the East of England Showground, and we had an extremely comfortable stay. I would thoroughly recommended staying here.

    Henry2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very convenient for the A1 but don't let this put you off as we had a lovely, quiet back bedroom. A very welcoming family that made us feel completely at home in their charming house.

  • A good place to stay. Very welcoming

    Caz2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Syeda is an absolute darling. Hospitable to the max and very welcoming too. She loves family and will make you feel as if you’re part of it too. Has kept her home wonderfully clean and just the right amount of homely touches to it throughout. She expects guests not to eat in the bedrooms which I totally agree with. Keeps it clean that way 👌🏽 Superhost for me any day of the week. Can’t wait to visit again on a sunnier day

    Fazl2018-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • As a super host myself, I am super impressed by Syeda's place. If there is an option to give more than 5 stars, I would! First of all, the location is just perfect. From the comfort of the bedroom, living room, kitchen the view out is just breath taking. It is the perfect place to go to after a stressful driving time in Cambridge or just as a place to relax for a few days while exploring the beauty of the local countryside can offer. The house itself is just beautiful. Very well decorated with all the tiny finishing touch from Syeda. She is a good person to get some decorating tips from! The bed was comfortable, well equipped bedroom with your own TV, a very beautiful bathroom, super huge kitchen and living room that is very inviting and cozy. Syeda and her husband are the nicest and the sweetest people you ever meet. They are very accommodating, friendly and it is them that makes the entire stay the perfect stay. I can only highly recommend this place if you are visiting this part of the country.

  • This is a gem of a house . It is beautiful inside and out. Sleeps 6 adults really comfortably and has lots of living space . The headhight is a bit restricted on the lower floor if you are particularly tall but was fine for us . The street is very central- an easy walk to all Oundle has to offer . If you have a large vehicle it is better to park in a nearby street as the house is on a very narrow street . Highly recommended

    Stephanie2019-12-01T00:00:00Z

Please join us and stay in my beautiful country cottage, a 200 year old barn which has been converted into a unique living space. My home is situated in a 'picture postcard' village only 15 mins drive (8 miles west) from Peterborough. The village is quiet and peaceful, it boasts an Elizabethan Stately home, Elton Hall, two public houses, traditional village shop, church, chapel and hairdressers.
I'm offering you the opportunity to stay in my home, a beautiful country cottage, a 200 year old barn which has been converted into a unique living space. As this is my private home I do like to know a little about the people who wish to stay before accepting any booking. It helps to fill out your profile and include a photo; a picture saves a 1000 words! Airbnb is built on relationships, so please tell me a little about yourself, the things you like, what it’s like to have you as a guest and why you are visiting the area. Our village is a quiet rural 'picture postcard' location with honey stone individual built properties but only a 15 minute drive from Peterborough or 10 minutes from Oundle/ Stamford. Excellent for visiting friends or family in the area or just discovering this hidden gem area, in the English shires. To get an impression of the village, take a look at the video, made by a couple of Dutch Couchsurfers who stayed for a week in 2012. Do a search on Youtube for 65rXUW2Wowg Elton, a hidden gem in middle England! Snoopy and I have small roles in it, see if you can spot us! My guest room (double bed and adjacent toilet/shower room) best for one person or couples travelling together. Own TV in room and for winter nights an electric blanket and or hot-water bottles will keep you cozy! There is also a separate futon bed in the 2nd floor studio, or 2 sofa-beds in my lounge, on 1st floor, if additional party members staying. Guests can expect a warm and sincere welcome, we enjoy meeting, and greeting people to our home and will do our best to make sure their stay is enjoyable. A light breakfast is included in the room rate (tea & coffee also available at anytime, on a help-your-self basis). I have a good knowledge of the area and its history and will be only too pleased to offer any information or help. Please discuss any special requirements once booking confirmed. The village is lucky enough to have 2 pubs and a Loch Fyne seafood restaurant, all these serving excellent food and within walking distance from my home. For night life or a plethora of ethnic and English eating houses, Peterborough is only a 15 minute drive away. If you are travelling with a dog then it is welcome, please bring own bedding, it can sleep in your room [not on bed!] or in kitchen. I have had many guests over the last 7 years through this and other hospitality networks, all of whom have loved the experience. I also have travelled and used AirBnB myself so understand the needs of visitors. I love meeting new people and am happy to give any advice on exploring the local area or share my travelling experiences.

Explore Burghley House, which was built and predominantly designed by William Cecil, Lord High Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I, between 1555 and 1587. The house is a splendid example of Elizabethan architecture and offers beautiful gardens to explore. It is, of course, also home to many events throughout the year, including the prestigious Burghley Horse Trials in early September. Offering boat hire on the River Nene, Oundle is close by. Surrounded on three sides by the river, it is a beautiful stone built market town, which has served the surrounding valleys since Saxon times. Peterborough, with its beautiful Norman cathedral is just 20 minutes away, and offers great shopping and eateries. The East of England Showground is just outside of Peterborough, home to shows and exhibitions including The Shire Horse Show, National Motor Home Show and many others. A little further afield is the university city of Cambridge where you can be inspired by the many beautiful museums and art galleries. To make your trip easier, there’s a great park and ride system available too. For those looking for peaceful walks and unspoilt scenery, Rutland Water is just a 20-minute drive away and offers great leisure activities including a water side stroll, sailing and windsurfing classes, and bike hire. Sacrewell Farm Park is close by and is fantastic for both children and adults, it has many attractions including its majestic Shire horses and Hamerton Zoo Park. For those seeking faster thrills, Silverstone is also within easy reach. With easy access to the A1, A47 and A14, it is the ideal location to explore everything this beautiful and undiscovered area has to offer. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

  • We loved staying in the bothy. I am very hard to please when it comes to staying anywhere but this place did not disappoint. Tastefully decorated in the modern style, it remains cosy and comfortable and spotlessly clean. Christmas tree and mince pies waiting for us when we arrived. A perfect stay and we will definitely come back.

  • The Bothy is a lovely bijou hideaway. We have stayed with Kathryn many times this year. The welcome is always superb, the place spotlessly clean, the amenities in perfect working order and the area is charming. Close enough to Stamford and Peterborough for quick excursions. Martin

One bedroom detached self contained flat consisting of fully fitted kitchen, bathroom and lounge area. In a quiet cul de sac in a lovely village close to all amenities and major roads.
  • A lovely clean flat, with plenty of space. Clear instructions on everything and really generous touches provided such as bacon, eggs, sausages and even a bottle of wine. Very kind.

    Sharon2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The mini garth was wonderful. A very comfortable and well-kept bedroom, large kitchen/diner/living room and bathroom with shower. We stayed here when at a conference at the East of England show ground, so the location was brilliant - a 20 min walk from the main arena and about 10 to the show ground entrance. It was very quiet and overlooked Mary's beautiful garden. Mary even left us some very lovely bits and pieces in the fridge and cupboards so we could have a cooked breakfast each day, and enjoy a bottle of wine and some beers in the evenings! We thoroughly recommend it and will probably book in again in the future.

Part of River Nene Cottages complex.
Beautifully decorated in light green with french limewashed beams with a fully kitted out white kitchen. Bathroom ensuite, open plan sitting room, dining area and kitchen with secure parking behind walled and gated boundaries, right in the heart of open farmland countryside and alongside The River Nene and The Nene Valley Steam Railway.

We have a very old church with lots of important history about it, plus we are so conveniently located for getting on to and off the A1 meaning no town traffic, holdups or sirens. At night there is no light pollution so on clear nights you can see the stars and watch out for satellites going overhead including the ISS.

    Charlie2019-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Such wonderful hosts who have carved a unique little bit of “specialness” in a sleepy and idyllic part of the countryside. Beautiful surroundings, cosy cottage warmth and just what I needed for a couple of days of “me time”. Thank you for being my first Airbnb stay, an introduction hard to beat.

    Fiona2018-08-14T00:00:00Z

  • We spent the weekend at the cottages after a last minute decision to find somewhere with a pool. What a gorgeous place!! Stephen was the perfect host, attentive, informative and really friendly. We spent the first day lounging by the pool (playing with the gorgeous dogs) and walking through the nearby countryside before heading into the local village for a fine dining experience. On day 2 we paddled up the river on the Canoe and lounging by the pool. Thanks for a lovely weekend we will definitely be coming back very soon!!

    Peter2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Stephen's place. The cottage was cosy, really clean and had everything we needed. Stephen and Philip were really friendly and helpful. The property is so pretty that we and our cat wanted to stay more. There are some beautiful places close by to visit. Stephen recommended some amazing places and restaurants. We will come back and definitely recommend it.

  • Would like to thank Stephen for a pleasurable experience from start to finish. Was running bit later than expected but Stephen was very understanding and made sure we were welcomed although little late at night. Cottage was beautiful inside and absolutely spotless. Unfortunately we didn't get chance to explore the gardens and outside areas as we were only there a couple of days but would highly recommend this property to anyone staying in the area and will be looking to come back again next year. Thanks again Stephen.

This is a sympathetically restored town house in the heart of the market town of Oundle. The house sleeps six people in three double rooms: a small double on the first floor next to the family bathroom; a large double up another small flight of stairs, and a further large room (which is my workroom when I am in residence) also sleeps two. All beds have down duvets and pure cotton linen. Children are welcome, but parents need to be aware of hazards (winding staircases and low attic beams).
There is a small lounge at the front of the house with an open fire (wood in the cellar), but the heart of the house is the kitchen with its Everhot cooker, underfloor heating and large table.
Oundle is a pretty English market town, with every convenience within walking distance: restaurants, coffee bars, pubs, supermarkets and library. The surrounding countryside is great for walking and exploring, with many a chocolate box village and many a village pub. Many of my guests have children boarding at Oundle School, or are involved with the Stahl Theatre, which is immediately opposite.
  • In my view, this house embodies all the best parts of Airbnb. Whilst it is Pam's home, it doesn't feel cluttered, and is tastefully decorated. I loved the duvets, crisp linens, soft towels and homely kitchen. It genuinely feels like a home from home and we'd happily come again and again (as we have done!). It is a great location too, making everything very accessible within Oundle and the surrounding area. We'll be back!

    Fiona2020-02-13T00:00:00Z

  • An opportunity to experience a unique quirky (in a good way) property and share the owners space. Clean warm and cosy - fresh crispy bed linen. Centrally placed in Oundle a town worthy of a visit. Recommended - would stay again.

  • We had a wonderful weekend staying at Barley Cottage. Check in was a breeze and the cottage was very comfortable, well kitted out and set up. Bracing walks and cosy nights in. It was the perfect easy weekend break.

  • The cottages were wonderful - exceptionally clean and cosy, and we had all the information we needed beforehand and during our stay. Would recommend, thank you!

  • First Stephen is a superb host, having made everything ready for our arrival despite us booking the SAME DAY ! Arrival was seamlessly smooth. Stephen has hosted us before but that was in winter where we were charmed by the cosiness and style and warmth of the cottage (along with all mod cons). In the spring sunshine it takes on a new charm as you can enjoy the nearby river and riverside points of interest and sit outside in many of the excellent pubs (esp the Cuckoo) recommended in the very comprehensive 'amenity and guide book' prepared by Stephen. Location just off the A1 is fantastic for Peterborough/Stamford and the surrounds. We shall return when business brings us this way again. Martin

  • Stephen is a fantastic host, that’s very welcoming and clearly very proud of his cottages. As well he should be because they’re simply lovely to stay in. Enter through electric gates, park next to his gorgeous classic cars on the gravel driveway and Stephen will greet you. You’ll be shown around, he’ll give great advice on where to go and what to see, and while he’ll be around if you need him, it’s unlikely you’ll see him unless you want to. The 3 cottages are beautiful inside, perfect in fact. Very comfortable, excellent water pressure for showers, lovely layouts, excellent wifi and super clean. I can’t criticise in any way at all as there’s nothing needs changing. 10/10, great job.

    Alex2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent in every way. Two minutes from the lock, we watched a narrow boat go through. Ten minutes from the steam train. Half an hour, ish, to picnic on the river by an old windmill. Swimming pool and gracious hosts. And the kids loved the old beams in the house.
