Places to stay in Stinchcombe
Our lovely cottage is in the centre of the rural historic town of Dursley. The Cotswold Way passes through making it the ideal rest-stop. Dursley is also ideally located for commuting to Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bristol and Stroud. Our guest room is a cosy double bedroom within our two-bedroomed house, with views over the garden and the chickens - which give fresh eggs daily! We are LGBT friendly.
The double bedroom is small but warm and cosy. Guests are welcome to make use of the bathroom, kitchen and living room, which is prefect to unwind in after a busy day!
We love living in Dursley! The cottage is in the centre of the town although feels like it's in the middle of the countryside! There are great independent restaurants, shops and plenty of walks to keep you busy. Dursley sits within easy reach of Gloucester, Bristol, Stroud and the charming Cotswolds which makes it the ideal place to stay.
  • Fresh eggs for breakfast and a solid nights sleep! Super friendly hosts too 😊

  • A very cosy cottage in the heart of Dursley and a very warm welcome from Stuart made our visit for a birthday party very enjoyable .

    Nick2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and clean place to stay, with kind and supportive people. Stuart and Ashley are true superhosts.

    Juraj2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Stuart's place is a hidden gem - if you want to visit Dursley and be within walking distance of the town centre you could not do better. They have managed to make their tiny cottage accommodate a guest and provide all the usual BnB amenities like a Tardis. All communication was very prompt and comprehensively explained how to get there, park and what to expect. I would not hesitate to return again if I need to stay in the area.

  • Lovely stay with Stuart & Ashley. Really kind, friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and the shower was amazing! Thank you.

  • In a great position right in the centre but still very quiet. Stuart is very welcoming and provide a good breakfast including super fresh eggs! Brilliant value. Only one thing worth mentioning. If you're very short, you may have trouble reaching the box where the key is kept. My wife (height 5ft 1in), for example, couldn't reach it.

Light airy outside room in the garden with a separate entrance. The room has double bed, with a separate shower and toilet. Available for the guests is a microwave, small fridge and kettle with an assortment of tea and coffee. Cereal and fruit are available in the room for breakfast. Home cooked vegetarian breakfast (£4.00) can be ordered. Off road parking is available and access provided via a side gate to the room. WiFi is available and there is a TV in the room.
This is a room that is separate from the house and you have your own side entrance to the room. There is a small patio out the back of the room and with fields and woodlands nearby, we are within walking distance from good woodland walks. Dursley is one of the routes on the famous Cotswold Way walk, which is one of England's finest National trails. Cam and Dursley train station has hourly trains to Bristol, Gloucester and Cheltenham. Dursley has two Indian restaurants that are eat in or takeaway, a couple of Chinese takeaways and an Italian restaurant. Good local pubs and 15 minutes away the Electric Picture House in Wotton-Under-Edge. Stroud is a popular market town 15 minutes drive from Dursley where interesting and quirky events are hosted throughout the year.
The room is detached from the house which is a 1940's semi-detached property on an older estate situated between a red brick school and park. The back of the property borders fields with an outlook onto the woodlands. These woods have many walks and run for miles around Dursley and along to the next village.
  • How understated, described correctly as a room in the garden, however it felt much more than that. Very comfortable bed, nice thick towels, warm (I actually turned the heating off in February) and cosy. Shower room was spacious and spotless and although no kitchen as such, with a fridge, microwave and kettle you don’t really need much else. I would recommend and I will be back!

  • Very nice stay in a quiet and convenient house, just in front pf Berkeley castle. Jo has been a nice host with great hospitality. Many thanks.

    Nicolas2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jo gave us a very warm welcome when we visited Berkeley to celebrate my nieces wedding at the castle. She was very helpful directing us round her beautiful village and her place is ideally situated close to everything. We had a comfortable night at the Old Police station and everything was spotlessly clean. Really enjoyed the fresh homemade bread Jo provided for us in the morning. A lot of care was put into making us feel at home. Thanks Jo.

    Nicola2019-09-22T00:00:00Z

If you want to get away to a quiet rural retreat, then this may be the place for you. This delightful detached dorma bungalow enjoys spectacular views over open fields. It is rooted in the countryside, yet within easy distance of Bristol, Bath, Cheltenham, Stroud and Gloucester. You can pick up the Cotswold Way from the bottom of the garden and yet its just a couple of miles to the train station. You are all welcome whether business, leisure or pleasure.
The private bedroom is really cosy with a super comfortable small double Vi-Spring bed. There is room for a sofa and chair. Lovely views of Stinchcombe hill to the front of the house.
The neighbourhood is semi rural. My property backs on to open fields. Upper Cam is centrally located between, Bristol, Bath, Gloucester and Cheltenham.

Our characterful Victorian townhouse is on a quiet lane in the centre of Dursley, a small market town in the Cotswolds. We are located on the Cotswold Way, making us a perfect stop for walkers, and just a short walk from shops, cafes and restaurants. Dursley is surrounded by stunning scenery and several award-winning country pubs, and is perfectly situated for a quiet Cotswolds break any time of the year. We love hosting people in our home and are happy to help you plan your visit!
Come and enjoy a visit to the Cotswolds and stay in a comfortable double room in a Grade II listed Victorian townhouse with your own bathroom (next to your bedroom) on the ground floor. There is another bathroom, with a free-standing tub, on the top floor. It's our home, which we share with a well-mannered Welsh Terrier. Tucked away on a quiet footpath, we are a minute's walk from all town centre services, bus station (buses for Bristol, Stroud & Gloucester), supermarket, pubs, cafes and a wide range of shops. There's a couple of good curry houses and an Italian restaurant in town too, a stone's throw from our door. The Cotswold Way long-distance footpath passes right by us, and walkers are particularly welcome. Rail station at Cam 2 miles away (from where we can pick you up if you miss the last bus) with regular trains to Bristol and Gloucester. We offer high speed wi-fi, use of the kitchen (or optionally a cooked dinner for a modest fee) and a continental breakfast. We love to meet visitors from overseas and will be happy to introduce you to the beauty of the Cotswolds. Our local pub also happens to be a recent CAMRA UK pub of the year winner, so a good choice for ale- and cider-lovers. If you need a guide to find the best views, walks and hidden country pubs look no further. Folding single bed for a child also available if needed. Although not fully level / wheelchair accessible, this ground floor accommodation is very suitable if you have restricted mobility and we'll do our best to overcome any obstacles. This listing is for Room 1, our ground floor double; it also includes some photos of Room 2, our first floor lounge with a pull-out couch; this room can be rented as a second room if required.
Dursley is a small market town on the less-touristy side of the Cotswolds. We never have bus-loads from overseas arriving to photograph our High Street, but in every direction we are surrounded by steep hills, beech woods, and spectacular views from the Cotswold escarpment across the river Severn over into Wales. On a good day you can see the Brecon Beacons and on a bad day The Old Spot is the most welcoming pub in the world.

  • We had a warm welcome at Colin & Wendy’s which is a lovely property in a secluded location right in the heart of Dursley. Their local knowledge was excellent providing us with plenty of options for things to do during our visit. Wendy & Colin were excellent hosts who balanced being available, whilst not being intrusive, beautifully. Thank you both for making our brief stay so enjoyable.

  • Lovely flat in central Dursley which was bigger than expected. Really well located for exploring the town and local area with several restaurants and pubs a stone's throw away. We liked the Dil Raj Indian and El Chico mexican restaurant opposite. It is tucked away and even on the Saturday evening thought the location was nice and quiet and hardly noticed any noise from the pub. There is a free carpark just down the road which is useful (you have to go out for one hour out of every 24h to continue to use it free). Useful information about things to do in the local area was provided as was tea and coffee.

The place also has supermarket and convenience stores near by. It's important to have a car to get around to Cotswolds but otherwise it's a perfect place.

Guests will also find a delightful Public House that serves good tasty food, a gym with 'pay as you go' classes, a park and play area, the local church and the remains of the Abbey. There is ample parking at the park with further parking in and around the village. The friendly market town of Wotton-under-Edge is a further mile away by car and here guests will discover several eateries, a butcher, a couple of bakeries, several barbers and hairdressers, two grocery stores, two medical centres, two dentists and an array of local craft, produce, antique and gift shops. There is also a traditional cinema, a Tourist Information Office, free parking, an art centre and an open air pool (open during the warmer months). The pool has recently been extensively refurbished and is a real oasis on hot summer days. The beautiful town of Chipping Sodbury is just a short distance away and the cities of Bristol (30 mins), Bath (35 mins) and Gloucester (40 mins) are all within easy reach. All three cities abound with history, activities, shopping and wonderful sightseeing walks and tours. A particularly lovely way of taking in Bristol is via 'cycle the city', guided or self guided. Just ask Annie and Simon for details if interested. Again only a short drive away and guests will reach the stunning Cotswolds where places like Tetbury, Westonbirt, Uley, Cirencester and Malmesbury are well worth a visit. These beautiful artsy towns and the surrounding villages teem with history and are stuffed to the brim with cafes, antique palaces and boutiques. The Little Barn is a handy gateway to this beautiful part of England. With the 102 mile Cotswold Way on the cottage's doorstep, guests can sample breathtaking views, dramatic gorges, rolling hills, forests and every kind of landscape a person could wish for, not forgetting the abundance of numerous castles, historic houses, country parks, museums and art galleries. The delights of the area are arguably some of the best in the UK and Annie and Simon can offer more details upon request.
  • Very cosy cottage, clean with thoughtful touches, great for the children, good location for nice days out, very quiet and peaceful. Very easy to contact hosts. We had a great time.

  • Gorgeous, freshly presented and comfortable property. We had a great night’s sleep and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Loved that the owners were clearly available if we had had any needs while we were there, but gave us all the privacy desired. Described as a gem & matches description. Welcome pack was a delightful addition. Already recommended to family for if they are staying in the area and will happily return. Many thanks!

  • Thanks very much for a fantastic stay. The accommodation was beautiful, clean and well resourced. Annie and Simon set up the house for us to just start our holiday with ease. Perfect location for exploring. We visited Tetbury, Chipping Sodbury and Bath during our stay. We would love to return in the summer to fully appreciate the unique outdoor space on offer.

  • In brief: Annie and Simon's place is great and you should book to stay here. It is well kitted-out, warm, and in an excellent location for walks and exploring the Cotswolds. It is very child-friendly. In long: Annie and Simon's place is brand new, and fitted to a really high specification. The cottage comprises and open-plan kitchen-dining-sitting room on the ground floor and two upstairs bedrooms, plus a bathroom (with a bath!). It easily accommodates a family of four, but there is also a large sofabed downstairs which expands the capacity to 6 at a squeeze. The Kitchen is fitted with all the amenities required for a comfortable stay (oven, microwave, pots pans, etc) as well as basic ingredients such as salt, pepper, etc. Annie also kindly provided us with some fresh local bread, butter, eggs and cake. There is a dishwasher and washing machine with more than enough tabs for a prolonged stay. The cottage is well-equipped for little ones. There are plenty of books and toys inside and lots of grounds to explore. There is also a booster seat and plenty of children's cutlery, plates, cups etc. Annie kindly put a guard rail on the bed for our son, and special bed linen for children - a nice touch. The living room has everything that you might expect: a TV, corner sofa, and some games. The TV has access to Netflix and Amazon Prime, and there is access to an almost infinite amount of music with Amazon Music. Annie and Simon are on site - as well as some other lodgers, but the accommodation is very private, with views facing away from the other accommodation, looking over fields. Annie is quick to respond to any queries, but let's you get on with enjoying your time in the accommodation. The accommodation is set far back from the road, on part of a farm estate, amongst fields and trees. Kingswood is about 1 km away, along field paths, and it is easy to carry on to Wotton-Under-Edge. There are local amenities, but it is the countryside and things are spread out a little! A car (or bicycle) is essential. There is a comprehensive directory of local amenities at the lodging. In summary: you will not be disappointed booking here.

Comfortable, semi-detached house in a safe, quiet cul-de-sac. On road parking outside the house and all local amenities just a five minute walk up the hill.
Set on the edge of the little town of Wotton-under-Edge, the house is warm, comfortable and peaceful. There is full central heating, a wood-burner for those colder evenings., great views and great sunsets across the valley, and a small suntrap garden for the summer months. Plenty to do and see in the area makes this a great place for a break.
Wotton-under-Edge is a small, friendly market town and an excellent base for exploring the Cotswolds. In town you will find cafes, independent shops, a cinema and arts centre, and a swimming pool (open in the summer). Great walking and cycling opportunities on your doorstep, with Bristol and Gloucester both a 30 minute drive away.

  • We had a fab stay - couldn't have asked for a cosier place after a cold day's cycling! Great location with beautiful views, easy to find. The cabins are super comfy with lots of thoughtful touches which made it so relaxing. We liked the Old Spot Inn in town, and the walk over the hills to Uley.

    Bev2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie's place was just the relaxing haven we needed for 2 days away. The cabins have everything we required for our stay and are decorated very prettily with some lovely touches like the fairy lights in the facing garden. Unfortunately the weather was so bad we couldn't manage any walks but would definitely like to return again as the surrounding countryside looks really special and the cabins were such a pleasant place to stay.

    Clare2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had the loveliest few days in the cottage, Debbie went above and beyond, everything plus extra had been thought of. In all the airbnbs we have stayed in over the years, we've never had a host pay so much attention to detail. The local recommendations were very helpful, the cottage itself was spotless, had everything we needed and even though we stayed in the middle of a storm, it was lovely and cosy. 100% recommend to everyone and would definitely stay here again.

    Sarah2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Had a such a lovely weekend in the cabin at Debbies lovely cottage, even in the stormy weather the cabin , local area and location was stunning and the pictures don’t show off how truly a beautiful place it is! Couldn’t say enough kind words to say how goos Debbies hospitality is and that she will do anything to help make your stay as cosy as possible. Will definitely be going back in the summer to explore the area more and stay in the beautiful cabin again :)

    Warren2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Debbies cottage was in the perfect location for a quite getaway. The location is great for walkers and those who want to explore the Cotswald Way since it is steps from the door. The space is quaint but functional and has everything you may need during your stay. Would recommend and would stay here again.

  • Debbie and cosy little cabin in the stunning Cotswolds far exceeded our expectations!! Booked for just a little getaway and base for lots of walking and relaxing, but we didn’t want to leave! In fact, we even extended our stay by 2 day more days. The location Is beautiful and so easy to reach most places of interest. The cabin was absolutely spotless, Debbie had put the heating on for our arrival. The kitchen was equipped beyond expectation. With all the essentials you could possibly need. We took Debbies advice on places to visit for food and drink which were spot on. All in all the cabin has been, by a Cotswold mile, the best airbnb experience so far. We will be back. Thank you Debbie for being so lovely and then most super, super host. X

  • We arrived, with no directional trouble, parked both cars in the ample space right next to the property and we’re welcomed immediately by Dave. The room was delightful and spacious with tea and coffee making facilities for an instant much appreciated cup of tea. The room was warm. But with plenty of extra bedding should we require it. I would recommend this property without a moment’s hesitation.

Peter's Nest is a favourite cottage for honeymooners and couples--especially walkers and those with dogs! This Cotswold stone cottage tucked away by woods is the perfect 'love nest' for two, Virgilian in bucolic peace and sweet sylvan scenery. Downstairs the house has an modern, open-plan kitchen and living room with a wood-burning stove in one corner and a small bathroom. Upstairs is a cosy bedroom with a low ceiling, a perfect retreat from the world.
In a clearing below Peter's Nest Wood known mysteriously as 'Hell's Throat', hard by a woodland spring is the original tiny cottage of Woodwells farmstead, marked on an 1847 map. INTERIOR Downstairs we enter through the kitchen, which leads into the living room with comfortable dining and sitting areas, and a cosy wood-burning stove. The bathroom is adjacent. As this is a small cottage the ceiling height is low in the bathroom! The cottage is heated by storage heaters. A narrow staircase lead upstairs to the small double attic bedroom (with very low, sloping ceilings under the eaves) with queen-sized bed, enjoying views to the west down the Owlpen valley. Hanging space for clothes is provided under the eaves, and a small dressing table. Peters Nest is situated in the east of the valley in the heart of the woods, making it a perfect location for walkers looking to explore the valley, and is adjacent to Woodwells cottage. There is ample parking and a small garden adjoining the garden of Woodwells cottage. There is also a large wilderness woodland dell to the east of the cottage. A small wrought iron table provides the opportunity to enjoy a sunset aperitif or breakfast coffee. Or watch the wild life and sociable pheasants. Key Features •Favourite with honeymooners •Nestled in the heart of the woods •Perfect location for walkers •Wood-burning stove •Dog friendly •Sleeps 2
The Cotswolds are one of England's best known touring regions of picturesque hills, limestone villages and scenic attractions. The magical deep wooded valleys here form its most spectacular scenery. Golf, gliding, riding, antique shops, historic houses, castles and gardens nearby. But many visitors never leave the privacy of the Owlpen estate, with its miles of footpaths and utter seclusion. The Owlpen valley has long been recognised as one of the most romantic places in England and provides guests with an exclusive and relaxing hideaway, surrounded by private woods and hills and many miles of walks--from a gentle stroll round the estate trails to a 20 mile trek along the Cotswold Way. This is Laure Lee country, situated in the Royal Triangle in the heart of the Cotswolds hills. The historic cities of Bath, Cheltenham and Cirencester are all within an easy drive, as are the cultural and scenic attractions of Oxford, Blenheim and Stratford Upon Avon, which are popular day excursions. An ideal base for the Horse Trials at Badminton and Gatcombe Park and racing at Cheltenham. Westonbirt Arboretum and the Wildfowl Trust at Slimbridge are nearby. Newark Park (National Trust) and Woodchester Mansion are three miles away, as well as many historic houses and gardens, including Berkeley Castle, Chavenage House, Sudeley Castle, and Highgrove—if you can get in. The choice of attractions and things to see and do is huge and you will need to return many times to see and explore it all.
  • Peters Nest is exactly what you would want and expect. It is a lovely little bolthole, tucked away from the rest of the world. When you arrive you collect a really comprehensive folder of all the things you can do, places to walk, to eat and so on and so forth. Very useful and much appreciated. Our dogs absolutely loved it, we went some wonderful walks without having to drive anywhere which was exactly what we wanted. The cottage is clean and cosy and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils for whatever you might need.

  • Summerfield cottage is the perfect couple’s getaway. A cosy but decent-sized cottage with a lovely little garden and rolling fields on your doorstep. The village of Uley nearby has a good little shop selling local produce, a pub and a church, and the other close village of Tetbury has a very good restaurant - the Gumstool Inn. We had a magical weekend here (although admittedly we did have perfect sunshine - I’m not sure how our little car would have fared on the country lanes in snow!). Would definitely recommend!

  • What an amazing cottage in a spectacular setting. I would highly recommend staying here for your stay in the Cotswolds. Plenty to do nearby.

  • Summerfield is really quiet and cosy, the hosts are just as lovely! Great escape in the country

    Dylan2019-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely accommodation in a beautiful location that is both rural and secluded but close enough to small villages. The wood burning fire adds warmth and charm to the cottage which has everything you will need for a weekend break away in the Cotswolds.

    Daniel2018-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage with everything you need. Very comfortable and warm with lots of hot water. Very thoughtful touches like the basket of wood for the wood burner and milk in the fridge on arrival. Pretty location with lots of walking on your doorstep and on site parking. A pretty little garden which was ideal to sit out in and for my dogs to wonder. The gate doesn’t go to the ground, so if you have dogs you need to be aware of this as the garden isn’t secure here and goes straight into a lane. Would definitely re-book.

The apartment is part of a listed Georgian property being renovated by ourselves. There are fantastic views over the local area, and we are conveniently close to the local shops and pubs, and very close to the Cotswold Way footpath. With Bristol, Bath, and Gloucester within an hours drive, we are ideally situated for those wishing to explore , or those working for one of the big businesses such as Renishaw, Rolls Royce, MOD, or Airbus. Our house is on an access only street, so is nice and quiet.
Access is through separate entrance on the ground floor, in to hallway with stairs leading to first floor, where there is a lounge, then a step down in to the kitchen, with the shower room and WC next to it. Another flight of stairs takes you to the second floor, where there are single and double bedrooms. Ideally suited for professional persons working locally, or for couples. The single bedroom is suitable for a child. It will be a bit of a squeeze for three adults in the lounge, as there is a two-seater sofa, small table with two chairs. There are 2 flights of narrow, winding stairs in the accommodation.
We are only a few minutes walk from the local shops, pubs, cinema, cafes and restaurants. There is a local swimming pool open in the warmer months. On the outskirts of Wotton-under-Edge there is a farm shop and cafe selling local produce. Bristol and Bath are within an hours drive away, and local train stations at Cam and Yate are 15 minutes drive away. The Cotswold Way footpath is only minutes away from our house.
  • Conveniently located apartment that was clean, cozy and warm. Sue (the owner) was very friendly and helpful. She responded to every message immediately. 5/5 would recommend.

  • A lovely, snug flat - beautifully decorated, well equipped, and very affordable. A great base for days out around the South Cotswolds & Avon. We only stayed a few nights, but enjoyed leisurely visits to Bath and the nearby National Arboretum at Westonbirt, as well as exploring Wotton itself, just a short walk away. Only saw Sue briefly to check in, but she was a great host: we had all we needed, including helpful tips for local shops/eateries/attractions, and she was always very quick to respond to messages. The weather wasn't great during our visit, so we didn't really get to appreciate the fantastic views, but were very glad of the flat's heating and insulation. Fingers crossed we'll have a chance to stay again one day while the sun's out!

    Morgan2020-01-04T00:00:00Z

  • Fantastic little apartment, beautiful views and spectacularly clean. Looking forward to going back

    Imogen2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Good, quiet location a short walk from the town. All modern equipment, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and good heating.

  • We had a wonderful time when we made a flying visit to Wotton to visit family. Susan was a great host and communications between us were very easy and quick. The Annex was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for, nice and cosy and beautiful views. The description is very accurate and it was a nice touch to have a pint of milk in the fridge along with tea and coffee, things that we hadn’t purchased as late in the day. We will not hesitate to stay again next time we are down to visit family.

Lavender Cottage is tucked away along a private path in the heart of the glorious village of Uley, just off the Cotswold Way. It’s a small cottage, ideal for couples, walkers, wedding guests, cyclists and anyone exploring this peaceful and beautiful part of Gloucestershire. Lavender Cottage is cosy and comfortable, with one double bedroom, perfect if you are seeking a Cotswold getaway. Dating from 1750, it has a quirky cottage charm, coupled with everything you will need for a relaxing stay.
One bedroom cottage with separate landing room equipped with books and games makes a great place to relax. The lounge has a feature fireplace and log burner. A table and chairs are located by the window so a great place to watch any birds appearing in the hedgerow. The cottage is self catering and breakfast is not provided. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, single oven, microwave, fridge with small freezer box and plenty of storage space. The shower room is accessed from the kitchen and although compact has a generously sized shower. The toilet room is accessed off the porch. Outside there is a patio area with table and chairs and a small lockable sentry box shed for your use to store any wet or muddy walking gear.
Uley has a lovely local pub, and a thriving Arts Centre, both less than 5 minutes walk from the cottage. The village green makes for an easy stroll, with idyllic views in all directions of the surrounding hills. The village store provides most of your immediate needs, and an opportunity to chat with the locals. Dursley is just 10 minutes drive if you need supermarket shopping. Nailsworth, Stroud, Tetbury, Badminton and Bath are also an easy drive if you are exploring the area. Fabulous walks right from Lavender Cottage's front door mean you can leave your car, and enjoy gorgeous, and really rather breathtaking, Cotswold countryside.
  • Lovely place! Stone floors in kitchen and to toilet so bring some slippers or thick socks for the house!

    Orson2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Alyson's cottage and had a relaxing break. Uley is a charming Cotswolds village, full of character. The people we met at the community-run shop and at the local pub were friendly and welcoming.

  • Lovely cottage with a cosy woodburner.

    Dellen2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful little cottage in a lovely location to be able to do walks straight from the house, as well as to drive to other local towns and villages. Everything we needed was in the house, and the fire made it very cosy!

  • Lovely cottage in a little village with a nice pub and cafe for breakfast. Very well situated for exploring the cotswolds.

  • Great stay. Thoughtful touches. Amazing pub just up the road. Can’t wait to come back!

  • Perfect cottage for a wonderful get away in a quaint Cotswold Village. Amazing hosts, very friendly and helpful in advance especially after an error with the booked dates (my fault) Perfect location you must go into the Vestry for a coffee and cake, also the most amazing art exhibition there for the next two weeks. The cottage couldn’t have been more perfect, clean tidy cost and welcoming. A must stay

    Adam2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to spend a weekend. The hosts were very communicative and have put a lot of thought into both the cottage and the information pack they provide. Great location within Uley too.

Our characterful Victorian townhouse is on a quiet alley right in the centre of Dursley, a small market town in the Cotswolds. We are located on the Cotswold Way long-distance footpath and we are only a minute away (on foot) from shops, cafes and restaurants. We love hosting people in our home and are happy to help you plan your visit!
Come and enjoy a visit to the Cotswolds and stay in a comfortable double room in a Grade II listed Victorian townhouse. We have two bathrooms in the house, one on the ground floor and the other on the second floor, both with loo, sink and shower, one also has a bathtub. You are also welcome to use our kitchen and dining room at any time. This listing includes some photos of Room 1, our ground floor double with a real bed; please see that listing if you would like to stay in that room.
Dursley is a thriving small town right on the Cotswold Way with access to great local walks. Our house is tucked away in a quiet, historical area of the town centre. The high street is just a two-minute walk away however, with pubs, restaurants, local shops, supermarkets and cafes.
  • Wendy was a very friendly and helpful host. We stayed in Room 2, which doubles-up as a lounge. The room was comfortable however the beds were of a fold-down variety, rather than bespoke beds.

  • Me and two of my friends stayed with Colin and Wendy for one night when we had a wedding at nearby Owlpen Manor. It was a perfect location for staying the night to get to and from the wedding, and Colin and Wendy did everything they could to make our stay easy and enjoyable. Can’t recommend their place enough!

  • We had a fantastic time at Rose's place. It is set in beautiful countryside, is nicely furnished, and is larger than it looks on the pictures. We definitely recommend it and plan to return!

  • Excellent excellent! Beautiful place and great host

    Peter2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rose’s cottage is all it appears to be from the photos. The wood burning stove and the gorgeous bath are very visible star features. What is less obvious from the photos is that you have a well equipped kitchen, so if you wish to cook during your stay, you will have everything you need. It’s a beautiful and comfortable place, where you will feel instantly at home, with the bonus of a stunning stream-side setting. Can’t wait to go back!

    Rachel2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely wonderful place for perfect relaxation. My partner and I stayed for a very weekend of very inclement weather, but came back thoroughly completely relaxed, such a comfy bed, relaxing bath, cosy living room and beautiful farm setting.

    Richard2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant stay at The Stables, the space is lovely and relaxing with everything you need, and Rose was very responsive and helpful

  • We had a wonderful weekend here! The cottage itself is beautifully positioned, well furnished, and has everything you need. Perhaps my favourite thing was waking up each morning to the gorgeous views out across the brook and fields. So relaxing. It’s a great place for walks (right next to the Cotswolds Way) and the little town with a great choice of pubs and restaurants. I would come again and recommend to others!

  • Very friendly host I recommend his place to all my friends thanks mr Steve definitely I will come back to your place *****

    Cristian2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • This airbnb exceeded our expectations. It's very clean, great location, great hosts, and much larger and more stunning than the photos display. The pictures do not accurately portray how great this place is. An added bonus was the heated flooring. I was worried I would be cold, but I did not need to fear--we were toasty warm the whole time. The hosts were fantastic--really great people. They had everything set up for our baby upon arrival, and even sourced some toys for him to play with. It was really great of them. Also, the pack and play had a pack and play mattress in it, which really helped our son to be comfortable and sleep well (most places just have the pack and play with the harder, slightly padded board to sleep on--this one had the added mattress on top of that for extra comfort). This was a much appreciated touch. There is no wifi, and reception on the phone was a bit weak in the area, but it was also kind of nice to be disconnected from our devices for a few days, and it was also expected as stated in the listing. The location of the airbnb is great--glocestershire is a gorgeous countryside, no matter what time of year. You're minutes away from some beautiful walks and viewpoints, cute cotswold towns, plus Bath (getting in and out of bath was no problem, we used the Landsdown Park and Ride, which was very convenient and easy). The hosts were outstanding and were very helpful with suggestions for places to go, how to get there, and so on. Very friendly, the type of people you could chat for hours with. I would not hesitate to recommend this place. In fact, we wished that we spent more time there and less time in London.

    Lisa2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our five days stay at Steve’s place. Steve is a great host, very hospitable and so is his wife. They were always available to offer help and tips as needed. And they were really very nice with our kids. The house is very clean, stylish and well equipped with very good amenities. It also has a private parking space, huge garden as well as a play area for the kids few steps nearby. The location is also very good. We used it as a base for making day trips to the Cotswolds, Bath, Bristol and Oxford and it worked really well. It is also conveniently close to a supermarket. We stayed at five different places during our last UK trip and Steve’s place was the one we loved the most, and by far. I would highly recommend Steve’s place for both long and short stays.

    Ramy2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Bath and the Cotswolds (we wished we could have stayed longer). We were pleasantly surprised by the accommodation. The pictures do not do this lovely place justice. If you are looking to rent in this area, look no further - this property is a real gem. The owners had thought of everything to ensure we had a comfortable stay. We were met on arrival and given a tour of the property. The house is a good size for two/3 people. It's not 'tiny'. Everything was brand new and spotlessly clean. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and fruit juice provided was a very nice touch. The welcome pack and a well organised folder containing maps and tourist information was very useful. We had everything we needed. We will definitely be making a return visit.

    Claire2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very warm welcome from Steve and Lorraine, they ensured we had everything we needed before leaving us to settle in. The annex is newly renovated with modern touches and was sparkling clean. Nice open plan space, comfortable furnishings, everything you need for a self catering stay. Also room for parking and private patio area. Information and local guides provided, ideally located to explore the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire and we took a 45mins to drive to visit Bath, so can reach destinations in Somerset and Wiltshire easily from Steve's place. Steves dogs are super friendly, we loved saying hello to the dogs however they did not seek us out, equally if you dont like dogs Steve can keep them away. Beautiful lawns which we were welcome to use, also access to local walks, pub near by (we did not have time to visit) and a supermarket a short drive away. The annex was perfect for our holiday and we will be looking to stay again soon!

The Old Pharmacy is a 16th Century House in the small Market town of Berkeley. Both the house and the area are steeped in history. We are a 2 minute walk from Berkeley Castle, Berkeley Church, Edward Jenner Museum and near to Slimbridge Wildlife and Wetlands Trust, The Barn at Cattle Country Adventure Park and The Berkeley Deer Park. This is a great location for walkers wishing to explore the Cotswold Way and cyclists using route 44. If you require a continental breakfast, please let me know.
The room is a pretty, private and large attic bedroom with a vanity basin/unit. The bathroom is on a different level, but is for your sole use. I do not offer breakfast, but there is a kettle with tea, coffee & biscuits in the room, a bowl of fresh fruit and I leave a couple of breaksfast muffins for you. I do have two very friendly dogs (not allowed in the bedrooms/bathrooms). My older Labrador is 11 years old and is the sweetest little girl. My Scottie is 2 years old and needs everybody to love him, so is ultra friendly and loves a tummy rub! I love my old and characteristic house where it’s believed Edward Jenner tested his vaccine on the children who lived here at the time. In the summer, you are welcome to sit in the courtyard garden. There are 2 lovely cafe/tea rooms almost next door who both offer a great breakfast, lunch and afternoon teas. There is a lovely pub/restaurant just around the corner for evening meals. I am new to renting out a room, but promise you a warm welcome. I have my office at the front of the building so am always available but will respect your privacy and enjoyment of your stay.
I’ve already mentioned the famous sites on our doorstep and locally. A visit to Berkeley will find you amidst beautiful countryside, interesting history and very welcoming local community.
  • Excellent host and perfect location. Many thanks!

  • The Old Pharmacy exceeded expectations. The location is ideal being just a short walk to Berkeley Castle. Sarah is a wonderful host who willingly stayed up late to welcome us and provided us with great advice on what the village has to offer.

  • This is such a nice place to stay, especially for weddings at the Castle. It's super close to both there and local shops (which is useful for picking up last-minute umbrellas!), and Sarah is a lovely host who really goes out of her way to make the stay a good one!

    Alice2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first experience with booking on airBNB and it was a most pleasant experience! Sarah was very hospitable and just generally very warm welcoming me into her home. Amenities were great and I felt very comfortable. Room was comfortable and very spacious. I couldn't recommend enough. Thank you!

    Emily2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect welcome, Sarah is always listening and anticipates all! She makes sure your stay is perfect! Bathroom nice room and very nice! She also takes care of our privacy. Worthy of a hotel and even better than some hotels, thanks to that kindness and taste of decoration. I highly recommend ! If you want to go in the area it is perfectly located and will advise you for visits, ballad, restaurant and parking.

Brookside Cottage is a charming attached dwelling in the hamlet of Stancombe, just outside North Nibley village, which has two pubs and a shop. The cottage is located where the Cotswold Way crosses the B4060. There is off-road parking, a bedroom opening onto a balcony and outside seating areas. It is an ideal location for walks, bike rides or exploring the local area with towns Wotton-under-Edge and Dursley nearby. Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham and Gloucester are all less than an hour away.
A country cottage plenty of space to spread out if the weather is poor. There are beautiful views ideal for walkers as right on the Cotswold Way. Bikers too as there are many lanes and tracks but be warned where ever you go from here it's up hill to start! Then it's free wheel home.
Situated in the valley at Stancombe in a small hamlet which is green all around with fields, trees and bird song. North Nibley itself has the famous Tyndale monument a beautiful church and many country walk for you to explore.
  • Would definitely recommend staying at Anitas wonderful cottage! Home away from home in a perfect location to enjoy all what the Cotswolds has to offer

    Hannah2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality, quick responses from Anita and a really nice, clean and spacious cottage with outdoor area! I would definitely recommend the cottage and Anita as a host to anyone wanting to get away for a relaxing weekend or week in the Cotswolds, everything was perfect!

    Edgars2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Brookside Cottage for a weekend recently whilst attending a wedding nearby at Drakestone House. We found the location perfect for the wedding venue, less than a mile away. Anita was very clear in her communication before and during our stay, the cottage was very cute and well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The surrounding landscape and garden to the cottage are absolutely beautiful and had it not poured with rain we would have definitely taken advantage of them! I would highly recommend staying here if you plan to visit or walk in the area.

    Nicky2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely spacious cottage set in beautiful gardens. The welcome pack is very nice and the place comfortable. In its a lovely area a short drive to Slimbridge for the wetlands centre or Gloucester if you want town and cathedral. Lots of food outlets in Dursley. We ate in the italian which was nice. Dursley's a drive away though. There is a pub a 1/2 mile up, the road but whilst not exactly the M1 it can be busy at times and there's no path, but that's because your in the lovely countryside. Anita is lovely too btw.

    John2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at Anita’s for the long weekend to get away from London. The cottage is in the perfect location for walking - right on the Cotswold way. It had everything we needed, and really appreciated being left tea/coffee/breakfast and even some delicious cupcakes! It was nice to have some outdoors space with great views from the balcony. Thanks for a great stay!

    Sophie2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Brookside Cottage was perfect. The house and location are beautiful, Anita suggested some things for us to do which fit perfectly for what we were looking for, and there were many really nice touches - very well equipped kitchen, food for breakfast and a couple of treats we enjoyed a lot, as well as the beautiful garden and being surrounded by trees with two lovely outdoor spots to sit.

    James2019-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • A very cozy cottage steps away from Cotswolds Way walking path. Everything we needed was there when we arrived - breakfast goodies, coffee and tea, a bottle of wine. One note - there isn’t wifi nor much cell reception, which is perfect for a relaxing stay.

    Johnna2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage with everything needed in a beautiful part of the country and right on the Cotswold Way - absolutely brilliant for walking and / or relaxing.

My place is close to all things nature. You’ll love my place because of the cosiness and the piece and quiet. My place is good for couples, business travellers, and families (with kids).

Modern, light and airy, open-plan and self-contained accommodation in an idyllic rural setting with cosy wood-burner and views over the old orchard and a babbling brook nearby....enjoy a slice of the good-life.
The Cowshed is a single storey converted cow barn where you can be completely self-contained. The open plan living offers a fully equipped kitchen with island and breakfast bar, a large dining table, soft seating, a double bed with wardrobe space and a separate shower room with toilet. There is a wonderful patio overlooking the lawns and orchard, often frequented by our free range hens.
There is a local Spar shop and a pub that does good Italian food, within 5 minutes walk. The historic town of Wotton Under Edge is 20 minutes walk up the hill or 2 minutes drive. This has two small supermarkets, coffee shops, a selection of pubs and take aways.
  • The location is stunning and the Cowshed, incredibly cosy and clean. Rose is a friendly, welcoming and thoughtful host and we hope to return in the summer. Great location for cycling

    Graziella2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay. Rose and Angus were great hosts and everything was exactly as described. It’s a lovely area, very quiet and you really feel part of the countryside. The local pub is within walking distance (with a torch at night) and the next village was easy to walk as well. Definitely somewhere we would consider returning to if the chance arises.

    Chris2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little getaway! We booked super short notice but Rose was so accommodating and made sure everything was ready for us and even left some breakfast supplies and biscuits which was a lovely touch! It had literally everything we could’ve needed like cooking equipment, tea, coffee, plates etc. Was pre warned that the WIFI was down which was only for the first day but the 4G was really good there anyway so this didn’t effect us at all. Rose popped by to say hello when we got there and showed us how to use the fire and told us how to get around. We went to Bristol for the day as it is only half an hours drive away and the weather was awful! This isn’t a negative at all but the only thing to be aware of is if you’re coming in a low car be careful as the lane leading up to the farm is pretty bumpy with a little grass mound in the middle (we just drove reeeally slowly!) but we should’ve thought of this before as it is to be expected! Do not hesitate to book it is a lovely place!

    Emma2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Rose was brilliant in making sure we had all we needed. Indeed little touches before we arrived, lighting the fire, leaving a snack and essentials for the morning were ideal. We arrived during storm Dennis, which meant our plans of walking and visiting local villages weren’t possible... instead we relaxed around the fire. Great stay.

    James2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful accommodation with everything you need included, the welcome pack was a nice touch, both Rose and Angus were very friendly and helpful. The location is great and being on a farm was a novelty! Would highly recommend and we hope to return.

    Tracey2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for making our stay so relaxing ! The cowshed is amazing and all you did for us was much appreciated ! Will be returning for sure!

    Kate2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend.

    Rajbinder2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend the 'Cowshed'. It's a beautiful space, in an excellent location, and Rose was very helpful. It's a perfect space to get away and chill, but close enough to the town to go for a beer and some food.

Our grade 2 listed coach house is warm, homely and relaxing. Centrally located in a tucked away position in the beautiful Cotswold market town of Dursley, it's a very short walk to the Cotswold way and many wonderful mountain biking trails.
The coach house has 2 double bedrooms and a comfy sofa bed in the sitting room which can be shut off and used as a bedroom. The open kitchen diner is fully equipped for 6 and includes local produce for a lovely breakfast for the first day of your stay (eggs, bacon, bread, milk) and cerals and jams for the duration of your stay. The bathroom has a Japanese deep soaking bath to soak the muscles after a hard day walking, biking or shopping as well as a separate shower. There is a wood burning stove in the spacious living room with logs a plenty. Although self catering accomodation we ensure that all the basics are always topped up so you'll never have to go out shopping for dishwasher tablets, washing powder or loo roll!
Dursley is situated in a beautiful wooded escarpment on the edge of the Cotswolds. The coach house is in a very centrally located, tucked away and quiet position. Ideally located for the award winning pub The Old Spot as well as an array of eateries, a swimming pool and a super cool cafe and Vintage clothing shop. Close to Dursley are the attractive towns of Tetbury, Nailsworth and Stroud, the cities of Bristol, Bath, Cheltenham and Gloucester and all of the tourist attractions that the Cotswolds has to offer.
  • I didn't actually stay as I was unwell but Rebecca took the trouble to ring and make sure we were OK when we hadn't shown up Friday evening. I thought that was a really nice of her and beyond expectations. Next time I am down that way I will definitely book and see for myself!

  • The Coach house is a gem! Absolutely love it. Cooking is easy with the sharp knives and clean utensils! The dishwasher and washing machine cum dryer is useful for us as a family. The house is also well heated during the winter. The kids enjoyed the bath tub the most.

A small but cosy listed building set in the ancient grounds of Owlpen Manor, one of the Cotswolds' most famous and romantic manor houses. Downstairs a dining room with a flagstone floor has views over the manor gardens. New bathroom with bath and shower. A narrow, steep and winding spiral stair leads to the first floor with a cosy living room and double bedroom. At the top of the house is a twin room with low ceilings. Pull back a curtain to reveal a queen-sized bed in cosy bedroom.
A small Grade 2 listed Stuart garden house of 1620 on a private estate in the heart of the Cotswolds. Sleeps 2 to 6 on three floors. Loggia on the ground floor has views over the manor house gardens. This is the only grade 1 listed building available to rent in the Cotswolds, and one of the only ones in the country! The Court House with its romantic period charm is a favourite with honeymooners and history buffs. The front door opens directly into an attractive dining room with a Welsh dresser, views over the manor gardens and a 17th century flagstone floor. The glass doors, divided by a simple Tuscan column, here frame the view of the east wing of the manor house and its yew trees immortalized by the etching of the celebrated Cotswold artist F.L. Griggs. The loggia opens directly into a galley kitchen. The bathroom lies beside it, with a bath and over-bath power shower. A very narrow spiral staircase(!) leads up to a beautiful sitting room in the old Justice Room on the first floor, with vintage horsehair sofa and original oak floorboards. The small main bedroom with double bed and handbasin are on this level. The stairs wind up again to two cosy children's bedrooms on the second, attic floor -- with low ceilings to suit the size of people in 17th century Stuart England. The first, with twin single children's beds nestled under the sloping eaves, leads through the trusses to the larger one, curtained off, with a small 4ft double bed. The oval bulls-eye windows enjoy delightful views over the Owlpen valley and to Uley, whose church spire can just be seen among the trees below the bare summit of the hill fort at Uley Bury to the west. The Court House has its private entrance from the lane below, with sun terrace and small garden to the west. There is a baroque sundial on the wall which still counts the hours, and a small table for enjoying a sunset aperitif or breakfast coffee and with views beyond the lane over the farm pastures. A path leads up from the cottage to the richly textured Victorian Church, which stands above the manor house. Key Features Romantic Grade I listed Stuart cottage Quirky charm with 'doll's house' interior Delightful views on all sides Private garden Sleeps 4+ No dogs, thank you.
The Cotswolds are one of England's best known touring regions of picturesque hills, limestone villages and scenic attractions. The magical deep wooded valleys here form its most spectacular scenery. Extra details Golf, gliding, riding, antique shops, historic houses, castles and gardens nearby. But many visitors never leave the privacy of the Owlpen estate, with its miles of footpaths and 800-years of history. Newark Park (National Trust) and Woodchester Mansion are three miles away, as well as many historic houses, including Berkeley Castle, Chavenage House and Sudeley Castle. The choice of attractions and things to see and do is huge and you will want to return to see and explore it all.
  • Great place. Fully equipped. Very cosy. Very tight staircase - not suitable for infirm.

  • We made a big mistake by only staying here one night instead of a couple--please make sure you don't make the same mistake we did! It is such a unique and special place--both the house itself and the overall property. Bella was very friendly and offered all sorts of tips for the rest of our trip. Our children felt like the house was straight out of a fairy tale, yet it has all the conveniences you could ever need. Can't wait to return.

  • The Grist Mill was such a lovely place to spend our time in the Cotswolds. We loved the history of the cottage and estate, something we are not used to in Australia. My niece loved exploring the property and seeing the animals. Thanks again we all loved our stay 👍😊

  • Great location!

    Aarnoud2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time for a weekend. Two couples and my 6yo daughter. It was all in perfect state, clean and with the heating on, milk and cookies for breakfast (the coffee maker is a cafetiere so bring some of coffee from home). There is Coop in the nearby village anyway. For the check in we let the office know that we were arriving after the office hours so we self checked in, no problem! The manor is idyllic! with impressive gardens! I was concerned by the description but the stairs at the court house were not a problem at all!! We used the kitchen for breakfast and to cook the evening meals. Internet was a big plus (there is no mobile phone signal), thank you, as I had to work (unexpectedly). The house conserves its original features, it is cosy but we were 5 and had room for everybody, even to play hide and seek with my daughter. We had a fantastic time and will try and come back soon! We recommend the place to everybody, and will tell all my friends too. It is a great place also if you are touring the Cotswolds.

    Sabrina2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay at Owlpen, we will most definitely be going back. It is a unique property, brimming with character and charm of the past. The whole estate is stunning, the people we met were friendly and very helpful, the booking was very efficient. The location is beautiful, peaceful and quaint. A great place to take photographs. We didn't want to leave. Beyond incredible. 🦋🌷🦋
