  • A beautiful place to stay - so quiet, away from it all. Very stylish and the wood burner will keep you very warm! The farm shop is amazing, and there's really no need to go anywhere else, except if you fancy a walk around, there is a beautiful estate and many great walks. We had a lovely time, thank you Clare.

  • Julia's apartment is the place to go for your AIRBNB's remarkably good experience.

    Victor2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Julia’s was brilliant. She was a great host, very accommodating and understanding when I needed to check out a little later than planned. The room was comfortable, clean and was warm from the heating for the cold evenings. The property is in a quiet neighbourhood with some lovely local pubs and shops, and it was easy to get to the city centre with a nearby bus. I would defiantly recommend this room.

  • Would definitely recommend this and we hope to be back soon. Lovely night away and change of scenery, perfect location with a cute pub next door. Alex and Susanna are such lovely hosts, who always responded quickly and we’re so helpful. I can’t recommend this place enough.

  • Outstanding little guest house to spend few days in. Very stylish and lots of little things have been thought of by the hosts to make it a very welcoming place to walk in to. Communication from them was great, clear concise instructions about check in and location and plenty of info about the local area. I always felt like if I needed them they were right there - but importantly never in the slightest felt like they were right over my shoulder or intrusive on the space! Location is great, not far from the Brecon Beacons, the coast, and plenty of castles if your an explorer/sightseer. Also Newport and its surrounding amenities are a stones throw away. Plus having a personal sauna is an absolute win, would highly recommend the hosts and their guesthouse to anyone! Cheers

  • Easy to access and find, lovely hosts and cozy room which is also beautiful 😍 The Sauna is awesome and gives it the extra special touch. Will be coming back here again when I visit friends ✌🏼 thank you Alex and Susanna 🥰

Horseshoes, Old Lands' former stables, has beamed bedrooms, a cosy sitting room and dining area, and a well equipped kitchen and private courtyard garden. On site there's a local produce shop, a children's Forest School and 200 acres to roam in. Also we have Liam & Emma who offer massage & personal training.
Horseshoes sits in Old Lands stable yard to the west of the big house . With its climbing roses, worn red sandstone walls and gentle planting, the recently landscaped yard has the feeling of an old quad. For eating out, a long table in the archway under the clock tower is the perfect spot. On the ground floor of the cottage there's an open plan sitting room and dining area leading into a well equipped kitchen. The original stable box wooden panels and stone wall divide the space which opens into your own private courtyard garden with BBQ and seating. You can park your car just the other side of the garden fence gate. There's also a toilet on the ground floor. Upstairs are three comfy bedrooms with beamed ceilings and basic modern bathrooms/ toilets (a double bedroom with shower and toilet, a twin bedroom with toilet, and a single room adjacent to a shared bathroom and separate toilet). The big house, Old Lands, is a grand but kindly old place, lived in by the same family for over 200 years. You will undoubtedly stumble across one of the youngsters who lives there zipping up the drive on their bike with a Jack Russell in hot pursuit. The 1,000 acre estate with the new generation at the helm is in a period of transition, with a new emphasis on the setting up of and supporting of gentle sustainable projects on site. It’s a family affair with all the Bosanquet generations, old and young, playing part in making it come together.
Old Lands is within easy reach of the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, and Black Mountains and there are castles galore on the doorstep.
  • What an amazing, beautiful place - both the location and the estate. We thoroughly enjoyed the beauty and comfort of being there.

    Stephanie2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great 10 day stay at Old Lands. Coming from North America, it provides a wonderful opportunity to stay in. a Welsh country estate. Cozy furnishings, beautiful Welsh textiles, convenient honesty shop and friendly people from the owners to other staff. The grounds are nice for a stroll, or weather permitting, a row on the lake - alas, for us the weather didn’t cooperate. We used Old Lands as a base for exploring many castles, abbeys, towns and pubs in the area. Highlights were Raglan (nice little onsite cafe), Chepstow, Skenfrith, and Usk castles. World Heritage Site of Blaenavon, and Roman site at Caerleon are must sees. Also the Lion pub in Trellech! Spectacular circle drive to Hay-on-Wye and back - amazing scenery!! It was always great to come back to Horseshoes at Old Lands and relax in the evening. We also enjoyed some meals catered by Penny - a great partnership with Old Lands. Thanks Sam, Clare and Amanda!!

  • Beautiful, quiet and private setting. Stylish, clean and quaint cottage. We absolutely loved our trip -- Sam gave us great suggestions on local hiking as well as activities on the property. Our kids LOVED letter boxing and it gave us something to do in the evenings after we had finished exploring the surrounding areas. Coming from the U.S., we liked that the cottage was centrally located to a lot of great attractions (Tintern Abbey, Highclere Castle, Bath, Cotswolds, Gower Coast, Brecon Beacons, etc). Wonderful place to stay for a family!!!

    Angie2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had another lovely time staying at the fabulous Old Lands in the beautiful Horseshoes. Old Lands is such a tranquil, beautiful and special place with a lovely ethos and atmosphere. Horseshoes is a really stylish and comfortable place to stay. We hope to be back again soon! Many thanks.

    Claire2019-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cottages at the Old Land Estate are a fantastic place stay. Clare and Sam are excellent hosts and they really go out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Staying at the Old Land Estate is an incredible experience all onto itself. It’s in a great location to be able to easily see the attractions in England and Wales. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to stay there for our trip.

    Jeremy2019-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely converted barn with 3 good bedrooms. The cottage is great and well equipped and feels like home. We chose it because it was near to a wedding we were going to. But we discovered that the REAL reason to stay here is all about the grounds and the amazing focus on nature which the owners have nurtured. There are lovely walks through the parklands and fields, around the lake (where you can row too), and amongst their kitchen gardens and animals. The owner Sam is a serious naturalist and took us on a nature walk where he dipped ponds and caught insects and moths - this was full of gems of knowledge and fascinating creatures. It would be a great place to bring children, or to get some peace and quiet away from the world.

    Alex2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely three bedroomed five person self-contained cottage. Spotlessly clean and beautifully presented. Sam and Clare communicated brilliantly and openly and made sure all was ok. Lovely too that Sam spent so.much time on arrival talking us through things. Beautiful grounds very safe and generally just the best time. I even ate the spinach bought from the honesty shop. If you're looking for a break in mid-Wales this is a place to check out.

    Ian2018-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Old Lands is a great place to stay. Clare and Sam are excellent hosts. Communication before travelling is excellent and in our case they could even arrange Christmas decorations (tree and other green) in the house (Horseshoe)! The house is well equipped, many bathrooms, lovely mix of old furniture and modern styling and spotless. The Old Lands around Dingstowe Court (the main house) are great to stroll. The area is of outstanding beauty and you can do many things in the area: we played lots of golf, but there are many opportunities for walking, biking, fishing etc etc. We'll certainly return to this lovely place.

  • Went with my girlfriend for a weekend away. We were blown away by this place. Superbly decorated and with an attention to detail I've never seen before. It was beautiful and equipped with just about every amenity you could think of. A welcome basket with lots of goodies from marshmallows to prosseco, and an info book that had everything in the area, most of which wasn't further than 20 minutes away due to the great location. It didn't have wi-fi but we didn't even need it, as we spent more time walking, cooking, and drinking by the fire, the things you SHOULD be doing on a getaway. Well impressed and would definitely book again.

    Owen2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect, from the minute it was booked we knew we made the right choice, Jenny and Jemima were perfect hosts, very friendly and so welcoming. In regards to the property we couldn’t believe how clean it was, there was not one thing we could fault about this place and the extra touches like the hamper we received on arrival was such a nice thought. Everything you could need was there and there was so much information for stuff to do in the local area, we will be staying here again without a doubt.

    Harry2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I can not recommend this place enough, from the house itself to the lovely owners. The views are spectacular whatever the weather, and you have everything you need there to enjoy a relaxing break away. Very clean, and beautifully decorated. The hosts couldn’t do enough and were very helpful and informative about the surrounding areas. We would love to come back again.

    Claire2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Apple Loft exceeded our expectations. It was spotless and we were so impressed with both the quality of the cottage and the thoughtful touches and extras put in by Jenny and Jemima. They seem to have thought of everything, down to the last detail. The kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, milk and an amazing welcome hamper full of treats...which was very much appreciated! We had a fantastic experience and have great memories of enjoying the stunning views through the window. We also thoroughly enjoyed meeting their pet sheep. Jenny and Jemima were fantastic hosts. Their communication throughout the booking process was brilliant. We felt extremely well looked after throughout our stay as they were on hand if we needed anything. We had a wonderful time and we honestly cannot recommend staying at Apple Loft enough. Thank you both.

  • The property is so beautiful and stylish, it is clear that great attention to detail has been applied throughout. Lovely touches throughout for extra comfort. Gorgeous views from the barn style windows and amazing amenities. The pictures show a lovely location however they really don’t do this amazing property justice. Can’t wait to book and return. 10/10

    Laura2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for our stay - what a wonderful property and great hosts!

    Tim2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The best Airbnb either of us have ever stayed in. Beautiful, cozy space perfect for a weekend away from the city. The hosts were really friendly and flexible re check-in and check-out and all communication was smooth. Being off the grid with no WiFi and signal was a blessing and gave us the peace of mind and the chance to switch off that we needed to make the most of such a lovely property and part of the world.

    George2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny and Jemima's place is even more beautiful than the pics. We spent a very relaxing couple of days there. Stunning countryside with easy access to some lovely walks; great local tips for food and stuff to do; stylish and beautifully finished space (particularly loved the bath & windows). Looking forward to returning again in the summer.

With its climbing roses, worn red sandstone walls and gentle planting, the recently landscaped yard has the feeling of an old quad. For eating out, there's a picnic table in the front garden or a long table in the archway under the clock tower which is perfect if the weather is not so good. The self-contained apartment is accessed via a covered stairway which leads into a large sitting and dining room, a light and airy space with period features and a high-beamed ceiling. Off this room is a generous bedroom with three single beds, perfect for the younger members of a family to share. A small separate kitchen and bathroom are also located on this floor. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with its own toilet. The big house is a grand but kindly old place, lived in by the same family for over 200 years. you will undoubtedly stumble across one of the youngsters who lives there zipping up the drive on their bike with a Jack Russell in hot pursuit. • A really lovely place to stay - a number of really great walks suggested by Sam and very special to eat fresh produce from the farm shop.

    Claire2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We were searching for a place to stay in Monmouthshire for a short family break, and as soon as I saw stable court with its characterful decor and expansive grounds as part of the old lands estate, I knew we’d found the right place. The house itself is clean, plenty big enough for 5, and full of charm. Especially appreciated was the lovely outside seating area. But what really made it extra special was the setting. The cottage is within the grounds of a large country estate and you can enjoy free roam of the whole place. It’s well located on the edge of the Forest of Dean with lovely walking and tons of castles to visit. But to be honest, it’s a bit of a wrench to leave the grounds of the estate. There’s a letterboxing trail (kind of like a treasure hunt), two ponds and a boating lake. A free guided nature walk including pond dipping for newts was a real highlight on our last day. Totally recommend this as a great place to stay for relaxing and soaking up the beautiful surroundings. In comparison with other places I looked at it’s great value for money. Enjoy!

  • A lovely place in a beautiful setting. Clare and Sam run Old lands with great care and consideration - and helped us on every front - on the day of our daughters graduation found us a dog sitter so we could enjoy the whole day out. We very much enjoyed the shop which is stocked every morning with fresh produce from the estates own walled garden. Sam’s nature walks around the estate are not to be missed to discover a world of minute creatures. He has been returning cultivated land to wild flower meadows, providing new habitats for wild life, creating a model natural environment. Our grown up family all loved it, though it would be exceptionally nice for young children. We rarely ventured further afield, we were so happy, eating outside, cooling off on a warm evening with a row on the lake. I don’t think any holiday could have suited us better. Roger

  • Our stay at Old Lands was absolutely incredible. It is a very quiet, relaxing place to sit back, relax and recuperate after many days of driving on our vacation. The entire flat at Stable Court was decorated in historical, yet lovely fashion. The beds were super comfortable and the amenities available were too many to describe. Sam and Clare are just wonderful hosts. Thank you again!

  • I ca not fault my stay. Checking in was no problem. My room was clean, tidy and warm. I also had access to the kitchen and was able to use the cooker, microwave and other kitchen equipment. I always had a hot shower and more importantly a good nights sleep! I'm returning to stay for another week. Stephen's home is a good stop over for those people wanting clean and affordable accommodation, particularly if someone is working away from home or taking a vacation.

Very friendly & quiet neighbourhood. The village of Tutshill was the childhood home for famous Author JK Rowling. She attended Tutshill Church of England Primary School before moving on at the age of eleven to the nearby Wyedean School in Sedbury. Her childhood home, Church Cottage, a mid-19th century Gothic-style Grade II listed building designed by the architect Henry Woodyer, was put up for sale in 2011. The character Severus Snape in the Harry Potter books was partly based on Sylvia Morgan, a teacher at her primary school, and on one of her teachers at Wyedean School, John Nettleship. In the book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, a passage is set in the Forest of Dean, where Harry, Hermione and Ron are camping & discover the Sword of Gryffindor where it has been hidden by Snape. Tutshill is also the home of a fictional professional Quidditch team operating within the Harry Potter universe. The Tutshill Tornados are one of thirteen fictional Quidditch teams that play in the professional Quidditch League of Britain and Ireland that was established in 1674. The team players wear sky-blue robes emblazoned with a double "T" in dark blue on the chest & back. In the early 20th century the fictional team set a British and Irish record by winning the League Cup five times in a row.

Private entrance separate to house with ample safe gated parking. A cosy gas centrally heated area with a double bed and kitchen facilities with separate shower room. The area is very quiet next to open fields and golf course. There is secure facilities for cycles if required.
Beautiful Forest of Dean 2 miles from Symonds Yat and 1 mile from Speech House with forest walks surrounding all of area. 5 miles from Wye Valley with breathtaking views and excellent cycle tracks. in the centre of Monmouthshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.
  • A really lovely, cosy annex. The location was beautiful and ideal for what we planned to do in the area. Lesley was really friendly and helpful with local tips and a lovely surprise gift package when we arrived. Would love to visit again and would recommend to anyone looking for a little retreat into the countryside!

    George2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Willow Annexe was delightful. At arrival we were greeted by the two very friendly cats. The studio is very cosy with a wonderful view to the forest. We were impressed by the gifts left for us and the attention to detail that Lesley has put into it. The place is equipped with everything you need (kettle, microwave and a little stove with a pan, if you need to prepare something). Even though we have not met Lesley, she responded quickly to our messages and allowed us a late check-out, which is very good on a lazy Sunday morning. We recommend visiting Wye Valley and all of its surroundings. It is a perfect place for a romantic get-away in the countryside. Highly recommended.

17th Century cottage in the heart of Chepstow, close to Offa's Dyke & the Wye Valley.
Small but perfectly formed, Pineapple Cottage is a characterful little cottage that dates back to 1650 (we think!). It may be old, but it has all the mod-cons thanks to a recent refurb. There's Sky TV, WiFi and a wood burning stove*, as well as a washer/dryer and dishwasher. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a shower room. There are plenty of mirrors for getting ready and the shower room has a heated floor and a heated mirror! You won’t see it in the photos (that would ruin the surprise), but to find the second bedroom you’ll have to check for secret doors. Think The Lion The Witch and the... The Garden is small but private. It is heated, lit by fairy lights and has just enough room for four around the table. *feel free to use the wood burner, but you'll need to provide your own logs!
Being in the heart of historic Chepstow, there are restaurants, bars and cafes nearby with Chepstow Castle virtually on your doorstep! If you're heading to the races then its a 20 minute walk or 5 minutes in a taxi.
  • This is an absolute gem of a place to stay. The cottage is superbly situated right in the heart of old Chepstow, close to all the amenities. It is sparkling clean, with close attention to all the minor details that you need for an enjoyable stay. The cottage is warm and cosy and decorated in a delightful fashion!

    Jinty2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Joe's place is very central to the shops, castle and river. Although there is no parking, it is possible to park directly outside the front door initially without much fear of blocking anyone as it is short and very narrow street with no cars or garages. There is a car park 5 minutes walk away adjacent to the tourist information building and castle entrance. The car park 24 hour rate was very reasonable - £4.80 as I write. The house was very homely, snug and tasteful with eclectic features. The second bedroom was well disguised, as can be discovered! The house was well equipped with everything you would want in the kitchen and bathroom. Detailed information file with personal recommendations from host. Generally delightful.

    Paul2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cozy cottage. Very clean and well equipped. Really enjoyed the location as it was central. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • Highly recommend this charming, creative, beautifully designed home. High quality finishing but with a spirit for fun and holiday. We couldn't stop looking around in amazement at it all. Spectacular location with peekaboo views of chepstow castle and located on the most charming tiny street. The second bedroom's entrance will please your young'uns and young at heart!

  • This is as stylish as it looks in the pics. A lovely place, comfy bed, good shower, lovely fire and good TV. There is free road parking less than 5mins away, after you have pulled up outside to drop stuff off. Easy to use heating and a fun entrance with a Narnia wardrobe to access the spare oom! Great host and communication!

It's a home away from home. We hope you'll feel cosy, comfortable and refreshed. The place is a brand new building, which feels light and airy. The Bathroom is downstairs, and the bedroom/ living space is upstairs. Parking is available in front of the property. Nearby: Rolls Royce, Air Bus, MOD, EE
The price reflects the fact that the accommodation not only has ample sleeping/living space but also has a fully functioning kitchenette and is value when compared to surrounding accommodation providers. A fridge and Microwave combination oven are also available for use, as is a kettle and toaster (& iron/ironing board). If you are staying for a few weeks, you're welcomed to use the washer and dryer in house.
We have a large park only 2 mins walk away, which is perfect for a morning jog or just to stretch your legs. Lots of shopping possibilities such as Tesco Express, Co-op, Sainsburys and some reasonable Chinese and Indian takeaways, not to mention the traditional Fish & Chips.
  • A five star place - very comfortable and very cosy

Charming spacious open-plan Studio in the heart of Monmouthshire. Perfect location for accessing the Wye Valley, Vale of Usk, Cardiff and Bristol. Lovely pub nearby. The outstanding 4-star living accommodation is open-plan with a fitted kitchen area, and a loft-style mezzanine bedroom level. Just drop us a message to get a link to our full 3D walk-through of the property.
The Studio benefits from a wooden floor and large-scale custom made and double-glazed timber framed windows and is decorated in muted Farrow & Ball greens and creams. Furnishing is in a modern country style. We have also fitted a modern and clean luxury kitchen and shower room with all new appliances, which will hopefully make your stay as comfortable as possible. The Studio is equipped with a flat screen Freeview television / DVD player (with iPod / MP3 connectivity) and a CD player / radio. There is a gas 'coal flame' stove to supplement the central heating and make for cosy nights in during winter. A tiled internal entrance porch makes a good place to shed muddy boots and to hang coats. There is also a small patio area with a beautiful view of the church and the centre of the village. There is ample space to store bikes or golf clubs, either in the entrance porch (or we can provide additional space should it be required). All bed linen, towels, gas, electricity and use of Studio washing machine are included. WiFi is free too and 20+mbps. The Studio is annexed to our family home but with its own private entrance so you can have as much privacy as you like but with the comfort that we are just next door if you need any help or recommendations. There is ample free parking on the road outside the Studio. The Studio is strictly no smoking. Cyclists? We have room for bike storage too!
The Studio is surrounded by beautiful countryside, particularly popular with walkers and cyclists. The pretty stone-built village of Shirenewton is a excellent centre for exploring the Wye and Usk valleys, the Brecon Beacons and the Forest of Dean. Although we are only 5 miles from the Severn Bridge (with fantastic access to Bristol and Cardiff) you will find that we are well and truly in the country with the advantages of a thriving village with three pubs (including a gastro pub less than 50 metres walk away and another that serves very good home-cooked food). Keen walkers will find several easy walks mapped from the house and we have equipped The Studio with maps and guides books to the surrounding area. Cyclists will find the area very rewarding, both for road cycling and mountain biking in nearby Wentwood. Golfers will find the famous St Pierre course 4 miles away and the 2010 Ryder Cup venue Celtic Manor 11 miles away. We can also arrange for tennis players to use the members’ village tennis court. Chepstow Racecourse is less than 4 miles away. If you love castles you will also love Monmouthshire! There is a lot more information on the village and the surrounding area available on the Shirenewton Village website.
  • Sarah and Omar have created a beautiful studio to enjoy, even though the weather didn’t play ball when we were down it was still lovely as we got to enjoy our time in the studio even more. Really appreciated the extra touches which meant we didn’t have to immediately dash out to find the shops as well. Would absolutely love to pay the studio a visit again in the future!

    Cherise2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Sarah’s and Omar’s residence. Their place is super comfy and feels homely. Spotless house all the way and some sweet attentions left for us. • A cosy, nicely decorated cottage right in the centre of Chepstow. We arrived on a cold and miserable Friday night, my first thoughts were of getting warm. Charlotte has an information guide for guests, with the operation of the central heating being the first thing to read. All very straight forward and the cottage was cosy in no time. The kitchen is well equipped, the lounge is really comfortable, the shower was great and the bed just perfect.

The County of Monmouthshire has a lot to offer the visitor – the historic castles of Chepstow and Raglan to name but two, the impressive Tintern Abbey located in the stunning Wye Valley. The Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons are areas of natural beauty to explore.
  • This property is just stunning! There is so much more space than what you initially think when looking at the pictures on here. It really is sparkling clean with everything you could hope for during a stay. We stayed here during ‘lockdown’ which really made us realise how equipped the property is eg, big fridge, big freezer, washing machine, great tv, a to die for bathroom and a gorgeous wood burner! Sally is a brilliant host who was rapid with her communication and making sure we had enough direction to find the property and made check in so easy. I would definitely recommend staying here, you’re not too far from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet you feel as though you’re super snug out in the country! A perfect getaway! We would without doubt visit again! A huge thanks to Sally & Ty!

The bed was very comfortable and there was an adjustable thermostat to ensure we had the right temperature. The location is fantastic as it's very close to a number of interesting places. The price was the icing on the cake. Getting to stay in such a wonderful property for the price of a stay in a premier Inn was fantastic!

She was very accomodating in allowing us to have the annex around the times which suited us and have our wedding cars pick us up from there. The place was stunning, absolutely perfect. • Beautiful building. So lovely to come back to after our days out. Harriet always responded quickly to requests and questions and that made a huge difference to our trip. The flat was so clean. Our baby is crawling everywhere and putting everything in her mouth and I felt more relaxed about that here than at home! Farm shop and cafe next door were lovely. We didn't go until the day we were leaving and wished we had gone earlier. Lovely for gifts and if you're staying in and cooking there are some lovely options. Really comfy sofas if you're staying in at all and comfy bed. We had everything we needed to cook and we were able to do a load of washing which was really helpful with a baby. It was very quiet so a very relaxing place to chill out. We would definitely stay again.

A romantic country retreat in the heart of the Wye Valley on the edge of the Forest of Dean. An ideal base for exploring all the fantastic activities and sites that the local area has to offer. Whether you enjoy mountain biking, rambling, canoeing, or soaking up some English and Welsh heritage - the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean really do have something for everyone. We will happily answer any questions you have about the local area to ensure you get the most out of your stay.
This beautifully and sympathetically, renovated cosy cottage is nestled in the village of Redbrook and literally sits on the England & Wales border - the border is a brook that runs through a culvert under the cottage so you can take a shower in England and then make yourself a cup of tea in Wales! The cottage is equipped to a high standard with everything you'll need for a comfortable stay and a relaxing holiday. With upside down living, you'll find the cosy bedroom downstairs with a luxury king-size bed and underfloor heating, plus a double ended bath and power shower to help you unwind after a long day exploring. Upstairs the open plan kitchen and living area provides all mod-cons to make your stay as comfortable as possible, and there is an upstairs private decking area with a BBQ so you can sit out and enjoy the view across the valley whilst listening to the brook babbling by.
Redbrook is a small village on the England/Wales border, which sits on the shores of the River Wye. The cottage is a 5 minute stroll into the centre of the village where you will find a fantastic village shop, a village green and 2 pubs (one in England, one in Wales - which makes for a great atmosphere during the Rugby!) It is just 2 miles from the historical market town of Monmouth and has many local attractions. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area which has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
  • Couldn’t recommend this place enough, Rebecca goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is exceptional, the house speaks for itself and is like a fairytale, perfect spot for two and well thought out attention for detail in the decoration. Absolutely amazing !!!!!

  • Perfect spot to stay at.

    Nathan2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had the most relaxing weekend at this beautiful cottage in the Wye Valley. Leading up to out stay we were concerned about the flooding in the area, however Rebecca was fantastic at keeping in contact and updating us on the road closures. The cottage was everything we could have wished for and provided us with the perfect retreat in the countryside. It was clean, comfortable and the little touches of eggs from their hens and home made banana bread made us feel very welcome. We loved our stay and would recommend it to anybody, and we will definitely be booking to stay again in the future.

Spring Cottage enjoys a peaceful setting surrounded by indigenous forest set above the River Wye. Graded 5 Stars by Visit Wales, the cottage was completely restored a few years ago and offers modern and comfortable accommodation that retains its original charm. Featuring two bright and pretty bedrooms, an attractive bathroom, kitchen with a range of modern appliances, dining area with oak table and chairs, cosy lounge with wood burner, detached studio/conservatory and extensive garden/woodland.
As people who enjoy breaks in holiday cottages ourselves we understand the importance of a well-equipped, comfortable and clean cottage and that is exactly what we strive to provide. You can expect to arrive to a spotless cottage, with beds made using premium cotton sheets, Egyptian cotton towels laid out and all essentials (loo roll, salt, pepper, coffee, soap, dishwasher tablets etc.) provided together with a few luxuries (locally laid eggs and freshly baked bread). There is additionally free wi-fi in the cottage. The ground floor contains the sitting room which is the perfect place for relaxing after a days’ walking or enjoying a cosy night in in front of the fire. It has a natural stone floor, wooden beamed ceiling, two double sofas, a modern fully glazed woodburner, a television and DVD player. There is also a bookcase stocked with novels, magazines, DVDs and board games. The recently fitted cottage kitchen/dining room is very functional with an electric hob and cooker, extractor hood, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster and kettle. The room has an oval oak dining table and chairs and phone/mp3 player dock for playing music. The kitchen is well equipped with cookery equipment and utensils, crockery and kitchen and dining linen. Larder essentials are also provided including tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, olive oil, washing up liquid, soap and dishwasher tablets. Adjacent to the kitchen is the utility room with storage for boots and coats, a washing machine, ironing board, iron and counter-top freezer. A covered external walkway leads from the utility room to the conservatory which has a comfy 3-seater sofa and table and is the perfect place for an afternoon read or as a playroom for children. The first floor is accessed via an oak staircase off the lounge. The bedrooms and hallway have thick natural wool carpeting, hand painted furniture and solid wood windows with stunning views over the valley. There are two bedrooms in the cottage – the master bedroom has a kingsize bed and the second bedroom either two singles or a king (please specify your preferred arrangement when booking). Beds will be made before your arrival and the towels will be laid out. All bed and towel linen is 100% Egyptian cotton. The Bathroom has a full length bath with separate shower above, heated towel rail, WC and counter top basin. The bathroom also benefits from some of the best views of the valley from the cottage. Spring Cottage is set within an acre of its own land which includes a pretty cottage garden. A barbecue and outdoor table and chairs are provided during the warmer months. Above this garden is an apple orchard and beyond this is woodland, which is blanketed in bluebells during the spring. Parking for two vehicles is available in the driveway. Please note vehicular access to Spring Cottage is via a one and half mile long narrow single-lane road which whilst suitable for cars is not suitable for vehicles larger than a Ford Transit. Children of all ages are very welcome. We can provide a highchair and travel cot if requested but don’t provide cot linen as guests generally prefer to bring their own. We also have toys, books, board games and DVDs to keep our younger guests entertained! We are dog friendly! Up to two dogs are welcome at Spring Cottage but in the interests of other guests they are not permitted upstairs or on the furniture. A fee of £5 is payable per dog per night to cover the additional time needed to thoroughly clean the cottage for the next guests.
Spring Cottage is spoilt by the number of great options for places to eat and drink nearby including the following favourites: The Brockweir Inn, with it’s open fire, serves wholesome pub food, ale and cider and is a short one mile walk from the cottage. Tintern, two miles away, has a number of pubs. Our favourite for steak is The Rose & Crown Inn in Tintern and for a fine view of the Abbey and a hearty pub meal The Anchor Inn. A little further afield are two fine gastro-pubs both serving quality food in traditional pub surroundings: The Inn at Penalt and the Ostrich Inn in Newland are both 10 miles away. For fine dining, we would thoroughly recommend the Michelin Star restaurant The Whitebrook, which is 8 miles from Spring Cottage. Past guests of Spring Cottage have also recommended a number of restaurants in Monmouth (15 miles) including The Misbah and No 7 Church Street for Bangladeshi and modern European food respectively.
  • We stayed at the cottage with our 4 month old baby. It was spacious, so clean and incredibly quiet and peaceful. It's tucked away at the end of a country lane so all you can hear are birds and nature! There is a garden room which was perfect for practicing yoga or having a quiet read in - an extra hideaway! The log burner was so relaxing, and the bed incredibly comfy. Even with our baby waking I slept really well! I want to own somewhere like this cottage :-) its also in the perfect location for lots of walks.

    Annie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Spring Cottage made the perfect Xmas getaway for my partner and I and our dog (which left a spare room with two single beds unused - so plenty room for families/bigger groups) . The place was pristine and very homely providing everything we could need and more, even a decorated Xmas tree. The location is stunning and very peaceful, lots of owls to be heard at night and great adventures to be had in walking distance so that we could abandon driving for a few days. The kingsize bed was like sleeping on a cloud, the bath lovely and deep and plenty of wood for the log burner, perfect for relaxing after long muddy walks. The kitchen is big and well equipped so made preparing our Xmas dinner a joy. We'd love to see the area in the Spring/Summer, so hope to book another stay. Would highly recommend.

  • We had a really lovely time. The cottage is in the ideal location. Away from the hustle and bustle and surrounded by stunning countryside and walks. The cottage was clean, cosy and warm. We had a really lovely stay and will definately come back.

  • The perfect cottage for a relaxing retreat! This detached cottage is very homely, with a lovely sitting room, a very well equipped kitchen and extremely comfortable beds. Warm and cosy, with a fabulously wood burner, radiators and tons of hot water. We had a dog with us, and the enclosed garden and tiled lobby were perfect for muddy paws and boots etc. David was a great host, and very communicative and quick to respond to any queries. Highly recommend this hide-away and will return if at all possible!

    Mark2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Just returned from a superb stay at the Spring Cottage. It was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed and was extremely comfortable. The directions David gave us were spot on. The area was absolutely beautiful and really peaceful. The king size bed was very comfortable and we were most grateful for the heating being on when we arrived at 5pm on Friday. Just 1 thing we missed though - it would be great if there was an ice tray to fill up! 5* trip and would definitely return.

    Abigail2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a hidden gem in the woods. Secluded and tucked away up a quiet lane, but with all the mod cons. The house is comfortable, clean and modern with nice features, esp the log burner. Beds very comfortable, plenty of hot water and kitchen well equipped. Autumn is a beautiful time to visit with numerous walks on the doorstep. Look forward to returning in the spring as there is plenty more to see and do in the area. PS. Very practical house for dog lovers.

Just 2 miles from M4 Junction 23a. Ideal for Newport, Cardiff and Bristol. A well presented self-contained living space offering private entrance, private kitchen, living room, bathroom, double and adjoining single bedroom. Located in rural Monmouthshire and on Severnside cycle routes. Close to Broom Horse riding Centre, Tintern Abbey, Chepstow Castle and Celtic Manor golf resort. Easy access to Bristol or Cardiff. One double bed and one single bed. Additionally a travel cot is available.
Suitable for those that require disabled access, offering ramped access from the outside and accessible wet-room. Although close enough to the M4 to be on your way to Bristol, Newport or Cardiff in 5 minutes, the Annex is situated on a rural lane giving access to bicycle routes across the Severnside plains to the edge of the River Severn. The Magor Marsh Wildlife Reserve is just 1.5 miles away and RSPB Newport Wetlands Nature Reserve is just 20 minutes away. The Annex is set up as an ideal space for a couple to spend a relaxing holiday. But as there is also the room to accommodate family groups comfortably for shorter breaks we have provided (in addition to the main double bed), a single bed in a separate room off the main double bedroom. We have included a floor plan in the listing to help you visualize how the space will best work for you and your group. We will clarify with you after you book exactly what is best for your group and will make arrangements accordingly. A small extra charge may be made for the extra laundry related to extra bedding but that can be handled through the AirBNB platform very simply.
Undy is a rural quiet rural village in Monmouthshire. It is close to the M4 and to mainline train services. It is perfect for those enjoying walking, cycling, horse riding (Broom Event Centre within 6 miles) and generally enjoying the South Wales coast and the events in Bristol and Cardiff.
  • This is the second time I have stayed at the Annex. The place was just as nice as I had remembered it, very clean and perfect for visiting the different towns and cities nearby. Would highly recommend a visit.

  • Absolutely brilliant place to stay. Sparklingly clean, cosy and so well kitted out. Simon welcomed us on our arrival and was happy to help out if we needed anything but was never intrusive! Extra little touches made us feel very welcome. Superb location for exploring South Wales. We took in some amazing castles, abbeys and National Trust properties all within easy reach. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay.

  • Simon and Nicolas place is great. I booked it to take my Dad to Cardiff for the Six Nations. It is spotlessly clean and ideally placed for a short 30 Mon ride into the capital. Simon was great and helped us with places we could eat. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again

  • We had a lovely stay in your annex. Your home was ideal for us to explore the local area. We would recommended your home to our friends. Thanks from the Jones family.

  • Simon & Nicola's place is a hidden gem. It is in a terrific location handily placed for either rail or car journeys into/out of Wales. Set in a peaceful and tranquil location, it had that warm feel at home aura about it. A comfortable bed ensures an extremely good night's sleep is had! Tea & Coffee with fresh milk is provided upon arrival and the accommodation is spotlessly clean. I have nothing but terrific things to say about this stay. Thank you Simon & Nicola.

Newly built in 2019, The Loft is a beautiful self-contained apartment in the Forest of Dean, with breath-taking views over the River Severn. The Loft is the smaller of two spaces on site and is best suited to couples. For larger bookings, please also consider The Roost.
The Loft is located on the first floor of our garage, separate from the main house. It is a self-contained apartment with private entrance (stairs to first floor). This brand new holiday let offers: Wonderful views King size bed En-suite bathroom Scandinavian wood burner Fully equipped kitchenette Guests receive a welcome pack of fresh, homemade bread and eggs from our free-range chickens. We live on a two-acre plot: half-garden (with chickens, friendly dog and cats!), half orchard and wildflower meadow on a gentle hill. At the top of the hill we have a fire-pit and seating area, looking across the wonderful Gloucestershire countryside and the Severn river. Beyond this is a gate which leads you straight into the Forest of Dean. We are happy for guests to enjoy all these spaces.
We live at the top of a hill in a rural area. It’s beautiful and very quiet. There are lovely walks that begin straight from our property. Other activities in the area (a short car journey away) include: Biking Diving Golf Climbing Places to visit: Offa's Dyke Path Chepstow Castle National Diving Centre Clearwell Caves Puzzlewood Perrygrove Railway Chepstow Racecourse Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail Bristol and Cardiff are both 40 minutes' drive.
  • Beautifully finished warm and very comfortable loft accommodation with a view over fields to the River Severn. We had a week-end break and felt very rested. Breakfast of cereals, toasted homemade bread & jam with eggs laid on site - what could be better. Guests are invited to go through the hosts' garden to get onto the Gloucestershire way for a good walk. Lucy the Labrador's welcome was an added bonus! Hope to go back again sometime.

  • Fantastic accommodation, with great views and walks close by. The attic was very clean and had a cosy feel to it. Would stay again.

    Stuart2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft is a lovely space overlooking the River Severn, only 10 minutes drive from Chepstow. There are horses in the fields around and it's very quiet and relaxing. The place is sparkling clean and very well appointed. Juliet is a fantastic host, communicating well before and at the end of our stay. The food and fruit baskets and milk in the fridge were a welcome touch. We stayed the weekend that Storm Dennis hit but we were nice and cosy with the wood burner going and when the power went, Juliet messaged us and braved the wild weather to bring us torches, candles and a stove kettle. Internet coverage was excellent and the Freeview TV meant we could log in to Netflix. The only thing to note for tall visitors is that there are sloping ceilings, particularly in the bathroom (my partner is 6' 5" though!). We had a lovely relaxing break and hope to go back when the weather is predictably better!

    Amy2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully cosy and simple self-catering space, in a really beautiful, quiet setting. Has everything you could possibly need for a quiet getaway!

  • We had a wonderful stay at The Loft, and Juliet was a fantastic host. Great communication, thoughtful touches (a beautiful welcome hamper was in the kitchen for us on arrival!) and we had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. The apartment itself is sparkling clean - modern and stylish - and boasts a gorgeous wood burning stove that we were very excited to take full advantage of. And the view over the River Severn was truly lovely; we even got up early on the final morning to watch the sunrise. Well worth it! Thank you for a great experience!

  • Thoroughly recommend this lovely loft conversion, with stunning views over the countryside and River Severn. Great design, very comfortable and tastefully furnished, with all mod-cons, ideal for two adults. The fresh eggs and home-baked bread supplied with the breakfasts were a very nice touch from the lovely hosts, Juliet and Michael. Ideal place for walking, relaxation and unwinding - will definitely return.

The Cottage is a converted stable, the original building is 150 years old. It's been sympathetically converted to provide well equipped comfortable accommodation. There's a private courtyard garden by a babbling brook. The Cottage is centrally heated a combi boiler provides continuous hot water. The cottage is on one level. There is a double/twin bedded room with en-suite tiled shower room. A large living room has a sofa bed & a door leading to the private courtyard garden. Dogs are welcome.
A lovely village, that has a great Church (All Saints, Newland also known as the Cathedral of the Forest). A fab village pub The Ostrich also welcomes dogs. Easy access to the Wye Valley and all it's attractions plus lots of walks on the doorstep.
  • Fantastic location, pretty, and well equipped. Easy check in and out, couldn't recommend more! Probably better for 2 people than the 3 we had (we were expecting that), but there was plenty of space for a few days.

  • The Rookery Cottage was outstanding. A beautiful place in just at the edge of the village. An excellent place to stay when you're exploring things in and around the Forest of Dean. The local village pub serves amazing food, and is a great atmosphere. We stayed two nights and found the cottage perfect for our needs. Everything was simple, easy to find and the lock box made checking in and out a breeze. Highly recommended!

A cottage style end of terrace property, a little out of the city but with good bus routes - travel time 30-45 minutes to city centre - the area is semi-rural NB: Current restrictions mean I can welcome guests only to provide accommodation for any person who: is unable to return to their main residence; uses my home as their main residence; needs accommodation whilst moving home or attending a funeral - anyone making an enquiry will need to confirm they meet one of the above criteria
The property benefits from being only 6 miles to the city centre whilst also being in a semi-rural location There is a second room that can also be rented (as a separate booking) enabling a group of up to 5 people to stay
Hambrook is a small series of hamlets just outside the city The area benefits from being only 6 miles from the city centre but at the same time giving you a feel of the countryside There are a number of supermarkets around 5-10 mins away by car If you are walking the closest shop is 10-15 mins almost opposite Beckspool Road bus stop (road is signposted golf club)

  • The cottage was beautiful, cosy and had possibly one of the best equipped kitchens. Jenny and Jemima had put the heating on so that when we arrived in the late evening, we could cuddle up straight away with a glass of wine. There were some lovely touches with milk, eggs and biscuits there for us to use. There was a folder full of info on the cottage and excellent tips on the local area. On our second day we were able to walk straight from the cottage out towards the Wye Valley, completing a loop along Offa's Dyke to Tintern and then back along the Wye Valley Walk. Well worth it! Lovely place to stay - you'd be daft not to book!

    Kathryn2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely brilliant time at Puzzle Tree. The welcome was immediate and appreciated. The cottage was spotless, beautiful and with all the amenities you would expect plus more. Jenny and Jemima have created a warm and comfortable space to escape from it all and the added touches like milk, welcoming chocolates and the easy to use information book were greatly appreciated. This cottage is also located close to beautiful walks and places of historical importance like Tintern Abbey, definitely worth a look if not yet seen. We can highly recommend a break at Puzzle Tree Cottage. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

  • We had such a relaxing and wonderful stay at puzzle tree cottage. It was a warm and cosy place, well stocked with lots of thoughtful touches. Lovely views and wildlife around. The hosts J and J were incredibly friendly and easy to reach if needed. We would love to visit again!

    Marie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny and Jemimas place is a beautifully appointed. It has everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay. It was spotlessly clean and had obviously been well thought through. The location is off the beaten track charming. With peace and quiet if you want it, but plenty to do if you want to explore. I would thoroughly recommend

    David2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place is spotlessly clean, everything you need in the kitchen, a bed you don't want to get out of, washing machine and easy to work heating to dry your riding clothes. Oh, did I mention I'm a mountain biker? there's Forest of Dean on the door step, Black mountains and Cwmcarn less then an hour away, Afan and BPW a bit further. There's a space to store the bikes and a hose to wash them. Not a place for you if you want to check your FB every 5 mins as there's no phone signal or wifi in the cottage (you can pick up a weak signal just outside or use Jenny's landline in an emergency. We'll be going back there later this year.

  • We had a really relaxing chilled out time at Puzzle Tree cottage. The cottage is warm and cosy, set in extensive grounds, in beautiful countryside yet near to surrounding places of interest. The hosts, Jenny and Jemima were so welcoming and helpful, even giving us a lift to the pub to save us getting a taxi! I would definitely stay here again.

Our house overlooks the River Severn and is a stone's throw from the Severn Bridge. Built in the 17th century, originally as two cottages, the space has plenty of character and is completely private with access to the garden and outdoor seating areas with stunning views across the estuary. It has recently undergone total refurbishment and has underfloor heating throughout. The area regularly attracts bird spotters, fossil hunting enthusiasts and visitors to the old car ferry site.
The spacious entrance hall leads to a bedroom with a built in wardrobe, drawers, iPod docking station, television and DVD library. Next door is a newly refurbished bathroom with dual sinks, rain shower and beautiful views. Due to the property's hot water and heating system - air source heat pump - there is the occasional low hum from the fan outside the bedroom window. There is a sitting room overlooking the garden with piano, cross trainer, sofa and microwave. Tea and coffee are also available. There's on street parking just outside the drive, it's a very quiet and safe road so you'll be fine to leave your car there. Cyclists can bring their bikes inside and leave them in the entrance hall. Yoga enthusiasts can use our terrace and garden - we have a spare mat you’re welcome to use!
Historic Aust Ferry pier Famous red and white cliffs, the most productive Triassic site in the UK and home to many fossils Plenty of cycle routes, Thornbury is a 15 minute drive away and Chepstow just 10 minutes. Cribbs Causeway also a 10 minute drive. Severn View services, with Costa and Burger King is 2 minutes from the house.

  • Overall we were really happy, the location was great, we needed to be close to the NDAC and it was just a 10 minute drive from where we were. The bridge was closed a couple of times due to high winds, so we had to make a detour one or twice however we made sure to factor this in to our travel plans. The place was very clean, nice touch with the granola and coffee for the mornings, we didn't realise there was a toaster until we found it under the table. Sarah kindly offered to do some washing up for us, however would have be really nice to have had some washing up liquid to do it ourselves so we wouldn't have to bother the hosts. Overall we had a really lovely stay. Thank you.

    Charlie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This space has amazing views, perched overlooking the Severn Estuary and ideally placed for great little walks. The hosts were great, very responsive and an abundance of thoughtful gestures. I hope to be back again.

Located within the grounds of the owners’ family home, Wirewoods Green Manor, one of the most historic and prominent properties in the village of Tutshill. This spacious cottage benefits from a private patio area and access to a 1.5 acre paddock (perfect for the dogs!) with direct access to The Gloucestershire Way Footpath. A perfect location if you are looking to escape to the country and explore the beautiful Royal Forest of Dean but still be close to amenities. Walking distance to Chepstow.
The Coach House is very spacious with more than enough room for four people, a child or infant and up to 2 dogs. The cottage is full of history, originally built to house the coach and horses for Wirewoods Green Manor it still retains many original features including the stable stalls, large coach door and cobble stone entrance. There are stunning far reaching views towards the River Severn with many beautiful sunrises from the bedroom window. This warm, cosy cottage is finished and furnished to a high standard, crisp Egyptian cotton sheets, plump pillows and duvets adorn the beds, a large roll-top bath with shower and a fully equipped kitchen, espresso machine, wi-fi and wood burner make for a luxury stay. A large kitchen table and chairs provides plenty of room for family dining and entertainment. A welcome hamper along with all the essentials you may need such as a starter supply of tea, coffee, firewood and all bedding and towels are provided. The Coach House also benefits from an enclosed patio area with a table and chairs and BBQ and access into our large paddock (when there are no sheep there) which is perfect for dogs to have some lead-free time! There is direct access to The Gloucestershire Way footpath from the property. Conveniently located on the edge of the village of Tutshill, a short stroll to Toast a lovely little coffee shop, that serves delicious breakfasts, lunches and plenty of cakes. It is also open late on Friday evenings for a much needed glass of wine or a pint! The village also benefits from a well stocked village shop and a fantastic independent butcher. A slightly further walk (about 20 minutes) takes you into Chepstow for a wider range of shops, bars and restaurants. Ideal walking and cycling base for exploring the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, South East Wales and slightly further afield are Bristol, Gloucester, Cheltenham and Cardiff. Up to two dogs are very welcome. Bedroom 1 - King size bed Bedroom 2 - Twin beds Travel cot, high chair, stair gate and a range of baby and children’s toys are available. The patio area is enclosed, however we cannot guarantee that it is dog or child proof. We recommend that children and dogs are supervised at all times. There is off-road parking outside the property for ONE car only. This is our family home, there are free-range children and animals around most of the time, we respectfully ask you do not enter our garden areas and keep dogs under control at all times. We have three very friendly cats who love a bit of fuss. If you have an allergy or dislike of cats then this is probably not the place for you!
We love living in Tutshill, a pretty village on the English-Welsh borders. The local coffee shop, village stores, Butchers, park and church are all a short stroll away. The area is rich with castles (Chepstow Castle is walking distance), Raglan and Caldicot Castle are short drives away. Slightly further afield (but all within half hour drive) are Clearwell Caves, Puzzlewood, Perrygrove Railway, Symonds Yat, plenty of opportunities for canoeing on the River Wye, Tintern Abbey and RSPB Newport Wetlands and National Diving Center to name a few. There are also hundred of cycle paths, tracks and networks to explore throughout the Forest of Dean and several places where you can hire bikes. It is also a haven for walking having direct access to The Gloucestershire Way, a short distance from The Offas Dyke footpath and Welsh Costal path.

Fully furnished holiday cottage with BBQ and separate garden.
Plenty of pubs and restaurants within 3 miles of us . The town's of Abergavenny and Monmouth are only about 7 miles away both of which have cinemas and theatres. There are Castles and Abbeys to visit locally . The town of Bleanavon has a mining museum where you can also go down into the old mines with guided tours. The Brecon Beacons are not far away for those that like to walk there is also the Sugar Loaf and the Black Mountains locally , the walk along the local canal in Abergavenny can also be completed while trying out the canal boat rides for those that prefer it . Coarse fishing can also be catered for locally
  • The photos cannot do this place justice, it was so much bigger than anticipated but also so cost and homely. The fire was a delight. It was the perfect location to have a break from Corona-virus. So isolated and didn't see another person (apart from Zoe and Merv who are lovely) the whole time. Lovely walk so on the door step. Please please stay here in the next few months.

  • This cottage is very large and nicely laid out. It's in a lovely quiet spot, yet extremely accessible. I stayed for work so I didn't get out but there are plenty of attractions very close by. I would recommend abergavenny town, walks up the mountains or The Big pit is also surprisingly interesting. Also close by is Raglan play barn and farm which is awsome for kids. The cottage had everything I needed and I would definitely stay again. Thanks! Wendy

The Zion Chapel (Grade 2 Listed building) is situated in the beautiful Royal Forest of Dean. There is immediate access into the Forest. There are many activities locally including walking, cycling, pony trekking, geology, canoeing, gorge walking, climbing or just relaxing! We welcome people from all different Nationalities, sexual orientation and disabilities.
The chapel has been converted to a very high specification and it is a very beautiful space complete with stars on the Chapel ceiling. There are views over the fields and the village. In the spring there are acres of bluebells only a walk away. The Accommodation is luxurious with towels, bathrobes, soap etc , dish washer and washing machine/dryer. There is breakfast left ready for guests and a complimentary bottle of wine, fruit and cake.
It's beautiful and quiet and in May the woods are carpeted with bluebells,
  • Our second visit to the Chapel and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s a beautiful space and Viccky has gone out of her way to make it cosy and very comfortable. A tremendously relaxing and beautiful space and a home from home for us now! Big thanks Viccky, we enjoyed all the cake and booze you left for us too! 😊

  • A truly magical place, in a great location with exceptional hospitality. Everything you could wish for and many things you wouldn’t dream of is provided. We had a wonderful relaxing week, didn’t want to leave and hope to return soon. The photos do not do the place justice. The chapel is an absolute gem!

  • Just returned from a wonderful couple of days at this beautifully restored chapel. Viccky was a great host from the moment we booked - quickly responding to our questions, to lighting the log burner before arrival to ensure a warm and cosy reception. Not to mention the homemade cake, glass of fizz and fridge full of breakfast goods that awaited us. Every little thing you could wish for Viccky had thought of - a 5 star stay in a beautiful location, thank you :)

  • We had a very relaxing and special couple of nights stay at The Zion Chapel. The photos can’t do justice to the space itself which is cozy, spacious and very well equipped. Our arrival and access was easy and trouble free, even though it was late evening and dark at the time. Indeed It may have been the perfect time to arrive at Zion Chapel as Vicky has already fired up the wood burner, turned on the pretty lights inside and left us a welcome gift of homemade cake and a bottle of Prosecco. It certainly helped us feel at home almost immediately. There was provisions in the fridge for a cooked breakfast, plenty of cereal, bread, milk as well as tea and coffee. The bed was very comfortable and we had a very peaceful night sleep. The rain shower was also lovely and hot. On the second day we left a chilli in the Aga to slow cook and set out to explore The Forest of Dean. We would highly recommend Zion Chapel to all our friends and family.

  • Lovely setting, fabulous little touches from the host. Made the effort to supply some home made Gluten Free shortbread which was incredible... It was a real pleasure to stay in such a tastefully refurbished property with everything we could possibly need from a wood burner to board games. Will be recommending to anybody who listens...
