Very nice low budget option for a stay in Iowa city. This was a nice comfortable room in a finished basement. Just FYI the bathroom is on the main floor so you have to take steps to get up to it. This was not an issue for me. Very friendly host and dog 😃

This apartment was an amazing value. It was simple, very clean, and just a couple blocks from the pedestrian mall and U of I campus. Elizabeth made check in and check out very easy, and she was always quick to respond to messages. Highly recommended!

We were here with a few coworkers for a work trip and this place was great! Kendra was a fantastic host and we’d love to stay here again.

We arrived late in the evening. There was no trouble finding the location or entering. The lock box was easy to use. The space was decorated in an interesting style with a lot to look at. The shower was great and the beds very comfortable. The temperature is adjusted from the main floor. There were many afghans to cozy in as we read. We were in and out quickly so did not take advantage of the location.

This place was in a beautiful neighborhood and very nice inside. It was super clean and provided everything we needed. The host was quick to respond to any questions and they directed to a nice trail for my wife and I to run. We would highly recommend this place to everyone. My wife and I were extremely pleased we chose this location to stay at for a weekend of Christmas shopping. We would stay here again anytime!

Karma’s place worked beautifully for my trip. It is such a comfy space and impeccably clean. We had everything we could possibly have needed—extra towels, extra blankets, dishes, Netflix, etc. The location is also fantastic. Karma and Charlie live upstairs and were incredibly kind and hospitable. It was a joy to meet and chat with them for a bit. I cannot recommend this place enough!

this was such a lovely stay and definitely more than I expected! our hosts were so welcoming with all the treats and goodies, as well as thoughtful about coronavirus by providing hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes. we had our dog with us, and while he could not stay inside, he was able to stay warm & cozy in the garage and use the fenced in yard. there was also a path close to the house for a long walk! we would love to stay here again if in town!

This was a great place to stay. I needed a place to stay at the last minute. Michelle and Amy communicated so quickly with me and gave me very easy instructions to follow. The place is sparkling clean, cozy, and roomy. They had coffee, snacks, a microwave and mini-fridge. Super sweet!

stayed here for three weeks to work for a short time in a lab in the hospital. You are really fast in the university hospital (20min if you walk) so the location of the apartment is really good. Laura was allways so helpful and responded really fast. I really liked this place and will book it again when I have to come back.

A great space in a super quiet building. The bed is really comfortable, and the small touches were excellent (e.g., thick and soft towels, extra blankets, a basket of necessities such as toothbrush and lotions). I stayed four nights, and I rested well and was only a short walk to downtown. I'd definitely stay here again.

I loved my stay at Myriam's. She was hospitable and always in touch. The two rooms have a lot of space but also feel cozy and private. The bed is fantastic and the electric fireplace gives off a soothing ambiance. Very nice! It was great having a convenience store a short walk away and a Fareway nearby. Overall very quiet and relaxing. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

Miriam is a wonderful host. She is very accommodating and helpful if you need anything for the space. The space is cozy and warm and you can enjoy watching tv, by the faux fire, in your vibrating, adjustable memory foam bed. Very nice touch. The space has some wear from previous guests but the price and the blazing fast internet makes up any minor cosmetic things. The space is private and super close to a Kum N Go and Fareway Grocery. You'll love staying here if you're looking for value and privacy and fiber optic internet. Great place

*[$10 extra for kitchen]* The place was roomy, furnished and private. The private entrance didn’t have a lock but the neighborhood seems safe. For some reason the host didn’t get along with us and complained when we cooked in the backyard. But otherwise warm and responded quickly to requests. The place might get cold in the winter. If you are on a work trip, it offers great value in my opinion

Mark's place was very nice! Check in was very easy, everything was clean, and he was very quick to respond. The condo was very spacious with a comfy couch and nice back deck. There were plenty of pots & pans and extra towels. I would definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

Jess and Trevor had a cozy little room prepared for us at the end of our night. The place was very clean and accurate to the listing. I also appreciated the snacks and coffee at the end of the hallway; it was a nice little pick-me-up before we drove back to Chicago. It is a close distance from Cedar Rapids which was also very convenient. Though we did not meet the hosts in person, they were very communicative through messages over the app. Jess is very sweet and accommodated us well. Definitely a great find and a good deal :)

This was a nice, simple, clean place to stay. The owners do use the same entrance as we do as the main living space is upstairs. But we felt comfortable with the downstairs living area. It was a bit chilly on the lower level in February, but we had a space heater to take the chill off. Overall, it was a good location and good value.

Jackie was very accommodating. I had an event in which I had to leave late at night and return early morning. Having the check out time at noon was perfect for my situation. That bed....Wow, the most comfortable bed that I've slept in, in years. I slept very well. It was very quiet considering she has 2 pups upstairs. Very friendly pups too. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you, Jackie! I'll definitely be back.

Jackie’s space is an excellent value for traveling to Iowa City! For a low price you have private access, private bedroom, private bathroom, desk space, couch, chill space, mini fridge and microwave. Her home is located within minutes of downtown, like practically downtown.

Donna is a wonderful host! The place was very spacious for my family, which included 3 small kids. The location is just down the road from a grocery store and coffee shop. And 10 min from a large shopping mall. We would love to stay here again next time we are in Iowa City!

Donna's place was super clean and comfortable for our family of four. I was able to easily prepare Thanksgiving dishes in the well-stocked kitchen. The beds were super comfy and we enjoyed the gas fireplace during the cold and rainy holiday weekend. Would stay here again.

Donna's place was great! It was very well stocked with dishes, laundry and dish soap, coffee, purified water, and everything you'd need and expect. Having a garage was awesome, but be aware that there's no opener so you'll have to get in and out of your vehicle to get in and out. There's a water softener! Yea! The TV does not have cable and you can't mirror a device so take a fire stick or HDMI cable if you want to watch anything. The place was amazingly clean and stocked. I love the gas fireplace downstairs. I was there in the winter and I can tell you it stays very cold downstairs but roasting upstairs. Donna was awesome about responding quickly to questions. You can't go wrong here.

Liked the location. Close to Amana Colonies or Iowa City and many stores and restaurants near by. Very quiet neighborhood and clean and comfortable condo. It was just what we were looking for in our getaway weekend.

Dakota and Jeffrey are fantastic hosts. I booked their room on behalf of my partner. Their replies were always very quick to come and they've been a great help for getting my partner familiarized with the city. They have been very accommodating and their two cats and dogs are super friendly. Regarding the room itself: normally my partner has a very hard time sleeping in new places, but here she never failed to get a full night's sleep! The room is very clean and nicely decorated with a very comfy bed. Cannot recommend this place enough.

I stayed here before an interview at UIHC. I instantly felt welcomed without feeling overwhelmed. Her pets were cute and friendly without jumping on you. The room was spacious and comfortable and locks if you'd like. She had sticky notes labeling where everything was. Jessica also invited me to watch TV either upstairs or downstairs. Since I was leaving so early she left things out for me to make coffee, let me park in the driveway, and gave me advice on the best way to get to the hospital. She always asked if I needed anything else. I was in general nervous about doing AirBnB alone, but this was an awesome experience. I would recommend to anyone!

Quaint, older house, but cozy with some modern touches. Not that I personally have a problem with stairs, but if you have mobility issues they are a bit steep, and the handrails are placed at a shorter height than modern standards, and the stairway/2nd story hallway light could stand to be a few watts brighter, or have a 2nd light near the doorway since it is a bit dim downstairs (there isn't anything of interest at all). The driveway is gravel, but well-graded. Otherwise, this location is great!

This is a great place with a fantastic host! Stayed here for a few nights, and had such easy access to downtown. There was also a grocery store around the corner which came in very handy. Very minimalist in this loft as there is little furniture and no tv, but that was great for me because I was just by myself and had my laptop to use for whatever I needed as far as entertainment. It was also nice to have the private entrance to the loft as well. Note: the loft is on the 3rd floor of the building, and the stair case to get up there is narrow and can be kind of steep. Wasn’t a problem for me, but could be a deterrent for others.

Not familiar with the Iowa City area and having only stayed in AirBnB homes before (never just a “room”), I was nervous. Previous reviews got it 100% right. Nicole IS a super host and couldn’t have made my stay any better! Her place and my room was clean, comfortable, and homey safely located in a charming quiet neighborhood. She was quick to respond to messages and had great suggestions when I asked for her restaurant recommendations. Loved it and plan to be stay again when in town!

Great weekend stay! Nicole is very responsive and goes out of her way to make you feel at home. The room was exactly what we needed for the weekend and the location was great!

Traveling to Iowa City for a wedding, my wife and I decided to ditch the hotel block and stay at the Milkhouse. What a great decision! This was the perfect place to unwind, relax, and recharge. Susan was such a friendly and thoughtful host. The space was better than pictures. We loved the details in the renovated building on the farm. #rusticcharm Susan even gave us a tour of the farm and introduced us to her llamas, goats, and chickens! I highly recommend staying at Lucky Star Farms and look forward to our future stay! Thanks Susan!

We had such a great stay at the milk house. The whole place is well thought out and they did an incredible job renovating the space! It’s not too far from some great places to eat but still far enough away to enjoy some quiet time. I would definitely recommend their place!

What a great experience. I was traveling through the area on business and I'm tired of the same old thin wall noisy hotel rooms. No need to remember your hotel room number here..... Very comfortable, well designed and overall unique experience. Finding this kind of gem makes me like traveling for work again. Nice to be out of the crowd and to enjoy a farm like this. An amazing space, super clean, very beautifully decorated. We had an awesome stay and Susan was a gracious host. We enjoyed the farm fresh eggs that were supplied. What a unique way to utilize an old space. All of the interior decor was well planned and created a very calming ambiance. It seemed as if no detail was overlooked. My only tip to visitors during winter time is that the original cement floor can be cold so maybe bring something slippers. Due to using the originality of the house the cement floor can be uneven in spots, this did not bother us, but it never hurts to know ahead of time. This place is definitely designed for a unique experience and we enjoyed being able to see the llamas and chickens. We even discussed how much our 8yo would get a kick out of it. We may have to return with him and purchase the experience. Thank you Susan for everything and I am sure in no time you will be a Superhost.
