  • A smashing place really close to the beach. It's in a small development with parking right in front of the house.

    John2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed my stay, thoughtful touches all around the house, had everything needed for a nice, comfy stay. Check in was seamless. Will definitely return for my nephew's grad.

  • A lovely house that is in a great location to walk along the front. The house is very well equipped, spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable.

    Sarah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The property is as advertised, simple yet very acceptable finishings and very welcoming. Very close to the promenade and beach if you enjoy a walk however February weather was not conducive during our visit! A local bar / restaurant “Gallois”? a mere stones throw away prepares decent food at very decent prices. Easy access to M4 for visits to Swansea or Cardiff. There ere 4 adults and one child in our party and it catered for us very well.

  • A great space for a few days mountain biking in Afan. Was sparkling clean and has all the amenities you could ask for including somewhere to dry wet kit. David could not have been more helpful and provided some good local tips on where to eat etc. We had a great few days and are already looking at when we can book again.

  • Lovely, cosy spot with everything needed for a couple of days away. David was very welcoming and friendly. Super location for the Afan trail, and going to Swansea Bay & The Mumbles

    Ben2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • At Wendy and David you will be very well received, the photos of the studio are in line with reality, it is very beautiful and very clean. If you have any problem you can contact them without any problem, they are also there to advise you on what to do in the area. We really had a great week-long stay in their beautiful studio, We highly recommend it and will gladly come back if we were to stay in Wales again !!!

    Johanna2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful long weekend at David & Wendy's place, with our little boy. Communication was great and we had a warm welcome on arrival. Some lovely thoughtful touches including milk in the fridge, welsh cakes and wine. The place had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Beautiful view from the balcony. Would definitely stay again!

    Alex2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay at David & Wendy’s. Thank you! The Welsh cakes, milk, shampoo etc all made our arrival after a day’s cycling delightful. It is an easy detour for anyone doing the Celtic Trail/Route 4 up from Port Talbot. So peaceful as well, sitting on the balcony overlooking the forest. A pleasant 15 min walk to the Brit Pub which is 2019 CAMRA Pub of the Year and served delicious food. Nothing at all we would have changed.

*Contractors Welcome!* Spacious double room, would be perfect for contractors as within walking distance to steel works (a short drive to BP) Lovely local walks, 5 mins from Aberavon beach. Nicely designed house with wood burner, open plan kitchen and monsoon power shower. Warm welcome but will respect independence/ privacy. Shared bathroom with myself although I'm not often there. Large decking to front garden Fiber WiFi available.
A 1930's semi-detached house that's a mix of period / industrial in design. Whilst the property is both close to the M4 and the works, it is also situated on the mountain meaning limited noise pollution and interesting views. There is street car parking, this can get busy in the evening but you can usually get a space at the front of the house within sight. Double bedroom with double bed including memory foam mattress, double wardrobe hanging space, full length mirrors, side lamps and large towels provided
CLOSE TO STEEL WORKS for any contractors interested but far enough to feel away from it. Property is on the mountain so higher up with views over Port Talbot and Swansea: 5 mins from beach. 10 mins from Afan Argeod nature reserve. 5mins from Margam park country park 10 mins from Swansea and 25/30 from Cardiff. 24 hour gym within 5min walk
  • Honestly, a truly fabulous host & an amazing place to stay.

  • Emma was very welcoming and hospitable. The house is lovely and personally I think the view is very interesting but am also aware I maybe in a minority to see beauty in Port Talbot! The bed was really comfortable - very good nights sleep and able to deal effectively with the NHS in the morning! Thanks Emma

    Jonathan2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Really stylish space and a very big room. It looks close to the M4 on the map, which makes it really useful if you're travelling for work, but you can't hear it at all either. Emma is a really friendly host who made me feel welcome, but also gave me lots of privacy which was really appreciated as I had work to do when I got back. Would stay again.

Ty'n Cellar Farm Self Catering Cottages are Grade 4 listed by Visit Wales, and the whole farm is Grade 2 listed by Cadw. We have 5 cottages that can sleep between 2 and 8 people and 2 apartments that sleep up to 4 people. . The two apartments are accessed via the original external stone staircases. Although the cottages are self catering, guests are more than welcome to pay for a full Welsh breakfast in the Granary Kitchen. On the farm we have chickens, ducks, geese and rare breed Soay sheep.
This apartment has been constructed over the Stables. It has been tastefully converted in to a 1 bed room holiday apartment retaining many of its original features. It has a lounge/kitchen-diner and a bedroom with a superking/twin bed and own shower room. The heating in the property is by thermostatic controlled radiators. This is the room where all of the farms working horses livery was stored and maintained.
We are mid way between J37 and J38 of the M4 and are surrounded by farm land. The holiday cottages date back to the 13th century and the whole site is Grade 2 listed and was once part of Margam Abbey. Margam Abbey is 1 mile from us, Kenfig Nature SSSI Reserve is 1.5 miles away and is famous for its bird life and orchids. The Prince of Wales pub and The Angel Inn are 1 mile away. Porthcawl town is a short drive and the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club. We have ten golf courses within 30 minutes drive.
  • The Tack Room was so so lovely. Warm, clean, spacious, well equipped. It had everything you need to dine in. Nice touches like milk, bread, Welsh cakes, butter, jam. The bed was amazing and the bathroom great, everything seemed very new. Parking on site with farm animals next door to amuse us. Thanks, Philip. It was lovely to meet you. PS There is on site breakfast which I’m sure was delicious but we chose to prepare our own!

A charming modernised cottage accessed via a private road, surrounded by farmland with far-reaching views. This cottage is a true retreat with no near neighbours yet only minutes from the M4. Please note the cottage has a STRICT no pets policy. Anyone arriving with a pet will be asked to leave.
A cosy cottage with woodburners and smart TV's in both living spaces. The cottage has a large enclosed garden with far reaching views of Swansea Bay and the surrounding countryside. Margam Country Park, Afan Argoed, Swansea Bay, Cardiff, Tenby, Glamorgan Heritage Coastline and the Brecon Beacons National Park are all within easy reach. A perfect destination for guests wishing to explore the area and have a peaceful comfortable base to relax.
Close to Swansea, Margam Park, the heritage coastline and Cardiff. Tenby and the Brecon Beacons are only approximately an hour away
  • An incredible cottage to get away from it all, a good location to get to a few shops and attractions but the best bit is getting your supplies and looking at the views out of the window with the log burner set.

  • Great experience of staying at Lorna’s place. Lovely personal touch when we arrived: welshcakes and personal notes. The cottage is very cozy and lovely. Even though it was raining cats and dogs with high winds during our stay due to stormDennis, the place is warm and we enjoyed snuggling in front of the fireplaces. It was peaceful stay with serene surroundings due to the cottage’s location but getting food provisions and supermarkets are only minutes away by car. I can recommend the place for its great experience and the warm stay at the lovely cottage. Thank you Lorna and John.

    Jamaliah2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent stay! Thoughtful touches throughout the property (complimentary bottle of wine, welsh cakes and firewood on arrival). Welcome pack was detailed and clear Lorna was available for any questions to ensure an enjoyable stay. Very fast communication from Lorna and she kindly let us check in earlier and check out later. I shall definitely be returning with my friends. Thank you!

    Ross2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy, comfortable, well equipped and a peaceful cottage with glorious views over Port Talbot from a quiet country retreat. The cottage location is the great for accessing supermarkets/ the town for anything you may need whilst also being private should you want to be alone. Thanks Lorna for letting us stay in your lovely cottage which made our 2020 New Years celebrations unforgettable.

    Sophie2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay at Lorna's cottage retreat, a real home away from home with beautiful Christmas touches, thanks for having us. Wonderful location, highly recommend going for a drive & enjoying the natural views then get back to the cottage, light the fire and watch the city lights & stars

    Jayne2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great. We had a lovely stay in the cottage. Very warm and cosy.

    Nick2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We chose the cottage as a base for our South Wales adventures and we were not disappointed. Great communication with our host and the welcoming touches, including having the burners lit for our arrival, were thoughtful and appreciated. The weather wasn’t always kind to us so having such a comfortable, warm and inviting space to recharge was all we hoped for. The remote location gives the great views when the cloud lifts and yet the town with supermarkets are only a few minutes drive away.

    Dave2019-10-26T00:00:00Z

  • The lodge is a lovely place to stay. We stayed for 2 nights while visiting family. Philip was very helpful and met ya upon our arrival. There are ducks and geese on the farm which the kids loved to have a look at. I would definitely recommend staying here and we will stay there again

  • Fiona’s place was fantastic. We have had a great time.

  • I don’t know what was better- the house or the lovely host Fiona! The house itself is spacious, nicely decorated and well equipped for group bookings. We were a family gathering, but would be perfect for a hen do. I love the fact we got a Xmas tree and even Xmas bedding- was really special. The house is in a great location next to the beach, a quick walk to a bar, cinema or Indian restaurant or a short drive to town. Fiona was so accommodating, had such good communication with us throughout and left so many welcoming touches (most of which I think my sister ate!) It was an absolute pleasure to deal with her. I hope we can stay again in the future.

  • Fiona is a thoughtful and welcoming host. The house is lovely and clean and well equipped. The location, directly opposite Aberavon beach was a delight for the children and there is a wonderful restaurant, Bar Gallois right on the doorstep. The service and food there was impeccable. Fiona was extremely helpful during our entire visit and answers messages very quickly. We would definitely stay again. Thank you so much Fiona

    Rebecca2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • The reason we chose Fiona’s house was it’s location on the beach front. This certainly didn’t disappoint! The beach is lovely and a few steps away from the front door. The house itself was just perfect! Set over 3 floors, the lounge has an amazing view and lots of seating, there was only the 4 of us, we had a sofa each! It was lovely and clean throughout, fresh towels and bed linen. Fiona greeted us as soon as we arrived, there was milk in the fridge and other little extras like shower gel etc. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of storage space. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again and recommend to others.

The Granary is a 2 bedroom 1st floor apartment which is accessed by original stone steps. The apartment consists of a large kitchen, dining, living area, a shower on the 1st floor and 2 spacious bedrooms on the 2nd floor. Both beds are super king and can be split if required into 4 singles. The Granary dates back to the 16th century and was originally the cart shed on the ground floor with the grain store above. The building underwent a major refurbishment in the 1880’s when it was made smaller and the dressed stone work was done. It has now been carefully converted to retain as much of its’ original character as possible. The front door is the original door from the 1880’s with a fully working lock.

This is one of the oldest buildings on the farm and one of the prettiest with its red stone work thought to date back to the 1400’s . This cottage consists of 2 bed rooms both on the ground floor with a superking/twin bed and bunk bed in each bedroom. Both bedrooms are ensuite. This is suitable for families or 4 single persons in each. The ground floor also has a large kitchen diner and spacious lounge with access to a large patio area with views over the Margam hills. There is underfloor heating in the stables which is supplied by our Biomass boiler. This stable block was used to house the farms shire horses (the tractors of their day) in individual stables, but during the renovation it was found that the stables were so badly riddled with wood worm most of the existing timber had to be disposed of. We have retained the original oak stable entrances and these are on the wall in the lounge area. On one of the stable posts you will notice that there is a plaque that is from the Glamorgan regiment for the 2 horses that the farm gave them to aid the war effort in the first World War in 1914. This accommodation would be ideal for Groups i.e. Cyclists ,Walkers,Golfers and Large Families

The Avondale House is set within 75 acres of private land within L&A Outdoors in the Goytre Valley. With walking and cycling routes on your doorstep, you can spend the day outdoors then spend a relaxing night in your hot tub.
The house is in a great location, being far enough away from town to feel remote whilst actually being a mere 5 minutes drive away. You'll have access to the valley with numerous amounts of walks to go on, you can have great views overlooking the town and docks to climbing up to see the reservoir. There is a coastal walk that takes you from Port Talbot to Porthcawl with stunning views over the bay. Aberavon beach is a short drive away and is a great place to stretch your legs whilst taking in the wonderful sky. This is a go to place for sunsets! Dogs are allowed on the beach at seasonal times, but during the summer there is a seperate beach where you can take your dog. Within the house you will find a wood burner in the green room (the living room), coal will be provided in the winter months. Occasionally we will have a big outdoor fire at the Tafarn, all are welcome.
The neighbourhood involves a lot of trees, a wide open sky and a lovely little river that runs through the site. The town of Port Talbot is a 5 minutes drive away with two main supermarkets. Aberavon beach is about a 10 minutes drive away with free parking along the road and a great place for dogs (seasonal).
  • Lovely location and everything we needed was there.

  • Mathew's place was great, the location is lovely. In a picturesque setting with a beautiful stream running near by. Perfect for a woodland walk, which we suprisingly managed even in the bad weather that we had. The accomodation is great for a large party. Plenty of space around the dining table for dinner and two seating areas to chill in. Mathew provided fire wood for the burner in the lounge and the hottub was ready for our arrival. Mathew was prompt with any questions we had. Thanks for having us Mathew, I really hope we can stay again in brighter conditions so that we can make the most of the surrounding area.

  • We had a great stay at Phil’s place. Location is peaceful and remote but with great access to the M4 to explore the area - great spot to head out to the Gower and Pembrokeshire as well as to Swansea and Cardiff. The Dairy was comfortable and spacious with a large bed, powerful shower and good kitchen facilities. Phil ensured the thoughtful touches such as bread, milk and welsh cakes were there for us on arrival and offered to get us a bbq out given the unseasonally warm weather. Phil was also on hand with tips and local knowledge. Thanks for a great stay, would definitely return!

Lovely little cabin set in the valley of Goytre.
The cabin is in a great location, being far enough away from town to feel remote whilst actually being a mere 5 minutes drive away.
The neighbourhood involves a lot of trees, a wide open sky and a lovely little river that runs by your doorstep and through the site. The town of Port Talbot is a 5 minutes drive away with two main supermarkets. Aberavon beach is about a 10 minutes drive away with free parking along the road and a great place for dogs (seasonal).

Lovely, cosy cottage type terraced house nestled between the mountains and the beach. Close to the motorway and easy transport links to West Wales and the Capital (30 mins on the train).
Guests are welcome to use the living area and dining area. Breakfast can be provided also.
As I have noted, my home is at the heart of a great area - the beach to one side and the valley to the other. Great for a cycle or a walk along the prom, great beach for surfing. I love a hike and the beautiful mountains provide me with a great view at the top of the climb but also a gradual path, perfect for any age and any ability. I adore living here because it caters for my every mood. Port Talbot is definitely not the place it's made out to be and I challenge you to prove me wrong.
