Places to stay in Llanllechid
Welcome to our cosy, modern & well decorated garden bungalow in Bethesda. The bungalow has a shower room & toilet, kitchen area with microwave, kettle & toaster (no cooker) & a separate bedroom. It has wooden flooring & is serviced by a combi boiler for those hot showers after a day of climbing in Snowdonia! Bethesda is home to Europe’s largest zip wire (Zip World) & is famous for its slate quarry. We are just a 5 minute drive from the mountain pass & 10 minutes into the city of Bangor.
You can log on to the bungalow WiFi which is perfect for general surfing and catching up on social media but to be honest it is not up to streaming video due to speed and data restrictions, so guests are politely asked not to use NetFlix /Amazon Prime. There is however an extensive DVD library in the property with over 200 titles so plenty to watch if you fancy a night in. Garden furniture is set up for you to sit outside and enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine after a day out.
Bethesda is a slate quarrying village on doorstep of the dramatic Nant Ffrancon Pass, Ogwen Falls and some of North Wales’s wildest mountain scenery. A new traffic-free section on the Lôn Las Ogwen cycle and walking path now links Bethesda with Porth Penrhyn on the coast. The Zip World attraction in Penrhyn Quarry has attracted a huge amount of interest. Another recent development is the new gateway visitor centre at Nant Ffrancon to Cwm Idwal and the Ogwen Valley, with interactive interpretation, information and cafe.
  • Excellent location, very private place. Jo is a great host. I would be happy to come back, anytime!

  • Excellent place to stay to explore Snowdonia and region. Plenty of options for hiking, castles, villages and lots of things to do around. The cottage is small but perfect for couple, cozy, well equipped (not only cook), shower with good pressure and temperature. Jo was very quick with the replys and provided useful and precise informations for our stay. No amendments to do. Thanks!

  • I recently arranged to meet up with some old friends in North Wales for a weekend, and booked to stay at Jo’s place as it was near to where my friends were staying and good value. Because I arrived late, it was dark so initially I struggled to find the house, but Jo’s instructions were pretty clear and I got the after a few minutes of identifying nearby landmarks! The cabin was small and cosy, I would say ideal for lone travellers or a couple if you’re planning on being out for most of the day (which you should, as there are loads of great local walks etc.) It was spotlessly clean and had all of the necessities (small kitchenette, kettle, fridge, tv, DVD player, WiFi). The bathroom was small but practical, and the shower had good water pressure/temperature. Very cosy bed, and the heating was set at just the right temperature to be warm and cosy after a day of walking out in the wet! Jo was a very responsive host, quick to respond and sent lots of useful local information prior to my arrival. All in all I can’t really fault this place and would definitely recommend it to others.

  • Great place. Everything was exactly as described. The hosts were very welcoming and offered detailed information prior to arrival. Lots of space for a single traveller + ideal location for hiking. I felt very comfortable and would stay there again.

  • Jo's bungalow is small but perfectly formed and is the ideal place for a single person or a couple to use as a base for exploring the beautiful area of Snowdonia. The bungalow was spotlessly clean, equipped with everything you might need. The place was nice and warm, without needing heating on, the bed was really comfy and the shower was good and powerful. We didn't make use of the TV or the very impressive collection of dvds, although my other half managed to fit in a couple of games with the atari. All in all it was perfect for our needs and a wonderful weekend in Bethesda. (Also, if you're lucky you might encounter her two beautifully behaved, lovely dogs too.) Diolch yn fawr Jo and family!

Enjoy a getaway to north wales in this lovely compact little house, well located to explore all that the beautiful surrounding area has to offer. A cosy terraced quarryman's cottage with lots of rustic charm. Open plan bespoke kitchen and living room with beautiful woodwork and a big wood burner, ideal for relaxing in front of after a busy day exploring. Nice and light, nicely decorated with a main bedroom, small bedroom # and bathroom with bathtub upstairs. There is a little terraced garden out the back with a bbq. There is a stereo and a digital radio so you can listen to your favourite music, and you can plug in your laptop via the stereo for film nights. Small selection of DVD's, books and board games. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary cooking equipment, but please note - I do not have a microwave or a TV and the house do not have central heating but a log burner and oil heaters, 1 downstairs and 2 upstairs for the bedrooms. This house is in a great location for exploring the local area from, close to the the zip wire and a great starting point for mountain walks and cycling paths. Easy access to a55 and Anglesey with it's variety of stunning beaches. Parking available on the road and in the car parking spaces up the hill from the house. The main car park just below the house is mainly for residents on Gray street, but that is only an unspoken rule. Very near to bus routes and shops are a 5 minute downhill walk away. Ideal for couples, families or friends.
Residential neighborhood within walking distance of the high street. Just across the road is a big common with a play ground and car parking nearby. Pubs, restaurants and shops within five minutes walking distance and close to local swimming spots, bicycle path and walking routes. Stunning scenery all around the village, my favorite view in the world! A great mixture of people living in Bethesda and surrounding villages, there is a local venue for markets, cinemas, events and yoga classes, a pop up pizza night and a riverside festival. Salmon fishing in the river, natural swimming spots by the ogwen bank and all the stunning mountains and hillsides, constantly changing, always a feast for the eye and senses.
  • Well equipped space with toasty woodburner all ready for you just to strike a match. Beautiful walks from the house and convenient for Snowdonia.

  • Linda’s place is the perfect Air B and B to experience the true beauty of Snowdonia. We have stayed with Linda on every trip to snowdonia (except one where she was fully booked which is great!) We can’t picture snowdonia without Linda’s cottage. The rustic homely vibe is what is needed with beautiful scenery, a very close car park, great local tips and much more! The log fire will keep you warm all through your trip as well as provided heaters. Linda is always quick to respond and always happy to answer questions, we’ll be back next year for our annual trip to snowdonia and to Linda’s cottage!

  • This AirBnB is perfect stopping point for travellers of North Wales. It's a simple, aesthetic and cozy setup with all your amenities and little in the way of distractions. Clearly a lot of effort has been put into it to make it welcoming and homely! Also it was a very no-nonsense process of getting the keys to the building which, after a long drive, is much appreciated.

A very unique cosy property converted from an old stone outbuilding. The cottage is on the bank of the Caseg river and surrounded by a quiet garden, providing an excellent retreat, while only 5 minutes walk from the amenities of the local village Bethesda. Take a local walk in the Ogwen valley, to Zip World or access climbing, walking, mountain biking and kayaking activities in Snowdonia directly from the cottage. A relaxing evening soak in the hot tub can be recommended.
The driveway leads to plenty of parking. A paved patio area with seating and BBQ / fire pit adjoins the garden with the river only 5m away. A storage shed for wet gear and equipment is next to the front door. Once inside, a compact kitchen comprises of a double hob, oven, kettle, toaster and fridge. There is seating around the table for four. The living and dining area then leads through to a double bedroom and separate wet shower room and toilet. The entire cottage has under floor heating. A large secluded hot tub can be enjoyed at the rear of the cottage next to the river.
The main house and cottage is set in a secluded, large, riverside garden. Bethesda town has many amenities - pubs, take aways, a small Tesco and Londis. It is possible to walk from the house almost without using any roads to complete leisurely local walks down to the river Ogwen, to Zip World (restaurant) or to access the Carneddi mountain range. Kayakers with experience can paddle from the garden down the Caseg river before joining the Ogwen, one of the best rivers for white water in Wales. More gentle water activities can be had on the lake at Llanberis and there are numerous wild swimming opportunities. We have a number of canoes and kayaks available to loan, but you do so at your own risk! Mountain bike trails are plentiful in the area, or quiet roads for those that prefer. Rock climbing and bouldering are easily accessed in the Ogwen or Llanberis Valley. For those that prefer, the beaches and surfing on Anglesey are only a 30 minute drive. North Wales has a wide range of tourist attractions for visitors of all ages, including castles, National Trust properties, Zip World, Bounce Below, Tree Tops, the Great Orme, Llanberis slate museum and Electric Mountain, The Greenwood Centre , Foel Farm and the Anglesey Sea Zoo all on our doorstep. Bangor, Caernarfon, Conwy and Llandudno all have great restaurants, cafes and pubs, as well as theatres and cinemas.
  • Perfect place if you're looking to escape for the weekend. Hosts are very quick to respond and offer solutions to any questions/problems.

  • A beautiful, well-kept bungalow in a picturesque location. Easy to get to local amenities, and very easy to access walks in Snowdonia.

  • If you’re looking for a weekend getaway in a peaceful area filled with fantastic views of welsh mountains, this is the property for you! Myself and my partner had a fantastic stay here. It was about a 15 minute walk to the fastest zip line in the world and we fully recommend staying here if you intend to visit zip world! The views around the property were incredible. Having the waterfall run behind the cottage made the stay even more relaxing. After coming off the zip line and having an explore around the area we came back to the cottage for a dip in the hot tub! Which was an extra special treat! Nick and Lesley were so friendly and welcoming, we couldn’t have asked for better hosts!

  • Set with backdrop of Snowdonia hills and next to a little river. 5-10 min walk to local shops, cafes and pubs. Ideal for walks into Snowdonia, although due to the storms we didn't manage any. Hot tub was a best part! Clean, spacious and warm 😀 Already recommended to family and friends and we'll be back for sure.

  • Lovely location by the stream, a good base for relaxing after a hike up Snowden or an action packed day at Zipworld. Great communications and having a private hot tub, to soak all your aches away is a total bonus.

  • Had the most amazing two nights here, this place is honestly so lovely - the pictures don't it justice!!! The little cottage has everything you need and more, the hot tub is such a nice extra and the area is beautiful with very impressive waterfalls and right on the edge of snowdonia. • Andrews and Karen’s place is an amazing place to stay the, space is compact but you have everything you need. The sofa bed is plenty big enough and it’s comfy. The bathroom is a small space but it works, it’s all you need if your staying for a night or two. Very stylish and love that it has a big tv on the wall plus a microwave which is also a grille and oven. Wound highly recommended this place. Amazing views across snowdonia and you can see the zip wire coming down the mountains. Great hosts very friendly.

Set on the Glyder mountain range, opposite Snowdon , 'Myn Mawr' is the ultimate getaway from 21st century living. It is a completely unique 18th century cottage, so please read the listing carefully and fully before booking. With unparalleled dramatic mountain views, this little cottage has been subject of poetry and has been painted in watercolor by the British artist David Bellamy for his exhibition 'Wild Wales'.
The cottage is ancient and offers guests the chance to 'step back in time . Please read this listing FULLY before asking to book for Myn Mawr is totally unique and, is also our home. This is the true ethos of Airbnb. There is no chintz and the cottage is basic and unspoilt and unaltered from the late 17th century. At any time, you will see wild goats, birds of prey circling overhead; the robin at the window of the crog loft bedroom. It is as though one actually becomes one with the mountain, yet the village of Llanberis is only 2.5 miles down the road, as it winds its way to the magnificent Llyn Padarn. The cottage is a traditional Welsh mountain cottage, approx. 250 years old, yet completely unspoiled. It has been the inspiration for numerous poets and artists, and was written about in the acclaimed novel 'I Bought a Mountain'. It is a place of unparalleled beauty and complete tranquility. The British 1953 Everest Expedition trained in the area and were based less than half a mile from the cottage at The Pen-y-Gwyrd which is at the Eastern end of the Llanberis Pass. Living room with wood burner, kitchen, basic bathroom facilities, double crog loft bedroom, garden, mountains, river & waterfall to the rear of the cottage. You will have the cottage all to yourselves, and we trust you will respect it, and be as happy during your visit as we are when we come home for our visits! It is the most beautiful experience and we never ever tire of the sheer beauty and ancient magic the mountains exude. Even when it rains, it is cosy and delightful. The cottage is clean but can be a little dusty, due to its positioning on the mountain. It is not 'squeaky clean' - It is a home and has a lovely authentic ambience so please bear this in mind when booking. It is not a sterile bed & breakfast. It is utterly unique. Please note: Towels are NOT provided. We will exchange telephone numbers & email to ensure guests have all they need. A friend does the housekeeping and is only minutes away if needed. You will have complete privacy during your stay. Please note that Myn Mawr is listed on other sites and when not occupied by AirBnB guests, either ourselves or other guests will be staying there. Lovely little village pub with open fires, folk music nights & great food just 5 minutes walk, yet the atmosphere at the cottage is one of complete tranquility; astonishing beauty and a true sense of peace. At night the soothing sound of the river will lull you to sleep. Perfect for romantic weekends, hiking, climbing or chilling out. Truly, an idyllic little cottage set in the magnificent Snowdonia National Park. A car is essential. The Snowdon Sherpa runs from the bus stop at the bottom but a car is better. There is a drivable track all the way to the cottage. It is wise to walk the track first before driving as it can be narrow in parts. One can walk or drive up the path. Its up to you! Walking is the best way to truly appreciate the sublime savage beauty of the area. Countless rivulets of mountain springs will refresh you along the way, wherever you choose to wander. The cottage is basic, beautiful, but not luxurious. Guests need to be prepared to 'rough it'. It is the most beautiful experience and we never ever tire of the sheer beauty and ancient magic the mountains exude. Even when it rains, it is cosy and delightful. We will exchange telephone numbers & email to ensure guests have all they need. A friend does the housekeeping and is only minutes away if needed. You will have complete privacy during your stay. Guests need to be prepared to really rough it because Myn Mawr gives the experience of really being in an early 18th century mountain cottage. The winds can gust and weather changes can occur quickly, though this adds to its charm as one is part of the entire experience. A mountain cottage is unlike any other type of house. The walls of the cottage are deep and rugged to offer shelter from its exposed position. it is part of the mountain and one truly experiences nature when in the cottage. The area has its own 'micro climate' as it is surrounded totally by the majestic mountains. 'Myn Mawr' has not been extended or greatly changed during its lifetime, and has great historic significance in the area. If you are looking for comfort and chintz, please Do Not book. • We had a fabulous stay in the cottage. Views were spectacular and it was lovely to stay in such an unspoilt place - but slippers are a must at this time of year. Great walks all around and easy to day trip from here too.

  • Absolutely loved this cottage! It is a magical place! The weather was quite cold and extremely windy when we went but Jacky's description of the cottage had prepared us. If you go in winter months you need to accept that you're going to get cold! Building the fire is part of the fun! If it's been particularly damp I'd advise taking some dry newspaper with you to help start the fire. There's plenty to do in the area especially if you like walking. Lake Padarn has some easy to follow routes. And of course snowdon if the weather is with you. We had an excellent weekend and I hope we can return again soon.

  • Does exactly what it says on the tin. The most picture perfect location. Amazing weekend walking with our little dog !

  • Such a spiritual place. I painted for the first time in 15 years. Hard to explain the beauty of this little nest. Felt truly lovely.

    Brett2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of those picturesque cottages that you drive past and say “wouldn’t it be nice to live there” well we did for 3 days and it’s was so peaceful and lovely

    Liza2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is complete tranquility in rural countryside. We loved that it was remote and quiet and even saw a meteor shower. The road is liable to flooding in heavy rain but nothing to worry about just have supplies. There is a little pub about 10mins walk with real ales. The best part is you can walk everywhere from the place if you don't want to use your car. It can be a bit cold and damp but get the fire going and it will not only warm you up but it will dry out your clothes if it's a wet day. Would definitely recommend.

    Laura2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Jacky for a great stay we had a the best time! The cottage is full of character and really cosy when the fire was lit. The views are amazing and we will definitely recommend our friends to stay and would like to come back in the summer 😀

Welcome to our newly converted chalet located at the bottom of our garden at the foot of the Carneddau Mountain Range in Bethesda. It contains a brand new small kitchen with all basic utensils, pots, pans, kettle, toaster and electric hobs. We also supply tea, coffee and milk. The bed is a SOFA BED. It is a stones throw away from the famous 'Zipworld' (15 min walk) and the Carneddau mountain range (10 min walk), and a short drive from Snowdon (15 min). Perfect location to experience Snowdonia.
The chalet is located at the bottom of our garden. Newly converted it is the ideal location for exploring all that Snowdonia has to offer. You’re more than welcome also to use our spacious garden. Parking is a problem in the area but not at Fron Isaf where you will have your own parking bay.
Bethesda is a vibrant working town. The Penrhyn Slate Quarry, now home to Zip World, used to be the largest Slate Quarry in the world, employing up to 3000 workers at its hight. Today the number is far lower and tourism has become more important. Nevertheless the spirit of the village and its Welshnes lives on in its residents. The George (Y Sior) is a 5 minute walk from the property. Serving locally brewed cask ales and a warm Welsh welcome I would recomend a visit. If you choose not to use the newly installed kitchen in the Fron Isaf there is ample choice of food available on the high street and nearby. Ranging from take aways to resteraunts. Bethesda is a haven for walkers. Close to all the major mountain ranges of Snowdonia and within walking distance (literally a couple of minutes walk) of the Carneddau mountain range. Buses also run all day from Bethesda through Nant Francon towards Cwm Idwal and Llyn Ogwen and Capel Curig amd Betws y Coed.
  • We really enjoyed our stay! Great location and value for money 😆

    Joanna2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Both hosts are really helpful with tips on what to do around the area, there if you need them for anything. The space was sparkling clean and cosy when we arrived with amenities available like milk, cereal, tea and coffee.

    Beth2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic views of Snowdonia from the parking location for the cabin. If you don't expect too much from the squeaky sofa bed then everything else about the cabin is really nice and cosy! Maybe bring earplugs if heavy rain noise particularly bothers you.

    Beth2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay. The location was perfect for us, everywhere we wanted to go was a short drive, and the high street was a five minute walk. The cabin was cute and cosy, even with storm Dennis going on. Definitely be back again (:

    Jade2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wow... Perfect for a break away & for one or two xxx Stunning location & cosy 🙌

    Diane2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cabin for a quick weekend away in the beautiful Welsh countryside! The cabin had everything we needed, from towels, to pots and pans, and even some yummy welsh cakes on arrival! We visited during Storm Ciara, and the only thing to keep in mind is that the rain and wind can be quite noisy when you’re in a little shed - so maybe take some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper!! But overall, this could not have been a more lovely place to stay! Hopefully we will visit again when the sun is shining :)

    Evie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cosy space with a very tidy and homely feel to it. We arrived a little later than expected after a long drive, and got speedy communication throughout the booking process and on updating the hosts with our arrival time. The cabin is equipped with everything you need, I feel the space has been utilised very well. On reading other reviews about the bed, we ended up bringing a spare duvet and propped the sofa bed with pillows and managed to get decent and a comfy sleep with these additions. For a cabin, the heating and the portable heater was useful and effective to keep us warm! The location of this place is excellent for taking trips to snowdonia and surrounding areas, and was excellent value for what we paid for our stay. There are some lovely views too from the cabin of the surrounding areas. Thanks again for our stay, I would definitely recommend for a short trip if you are exploring north wales.

  • My friends and I stayed for four days. The location is stunning and just what we needed! It's a very cosy place and great with a real fire - perfect for a remote get away!

    Sarah2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Peace and tranquillity. Clean, cosy, comfortable. Very private location with great scenery, gentle local walks, and the coast and drama of Snowdonia within a few miles. Having said this, except for a couple of early morning forays round the local lanes, we didn't budge from in front of the open fire, reading and doing jigsaws, stroking Charlie the ginger cat. Would return and would highly recommend.

    Michelle2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a visit to Snowdonia Park. I visited with two friends and we had plenty of space in a great old place. Pete was very welcoming. I would definitely visit this place again.

This Grade 2 listed traditional Welsh cottage is located within 5 minutes of Zip World Velocity and is perfect for exploring North Wales. The cottage has been completely renovated and also features a beautiful sunny garden and patio with plenty of space to sit and relax outside. Bethesda village centre is within walking distance and has a Tesco supermarket (open 7 days a week until late), pubs and a good choice of takeaways.
Inside the cottage, you’ll find a beautifully modernised space retaining all the rustic charm of a quarry man’s cottage. The cottage has been fully modernised to create a comfortable, airy space and features a glass-fronted bedroom mezzanine above the lounge. The property is well insulated and features a large wood burning stove in addition to high capacity electric oil heaters for the colder months of the year. You’ll also find a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to refuel after enjoying the stunning landscapes and activities on offer in Snowdonia.
  • This is a wonderful cottage for a cosy stay. Anna was very helpful and getting in was easy. The cottage is beautifully done inside. Everything you need for a cosy couple of days. Perfect for 2 or 3 people. It is a 10 min walk from the local village and a well stocked tesco express. There is parking but in a lay by on the main road next to the house. There is a wonderful wooden staircase but it may not be suitable for someone with reduced mobility. Overall a really lovely stay would definitely recommend.

    Georgie2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is quaint and welcoming. Anna was quick to respond to any messages and put the heating on for us arriving. Would stay again.

    Michelle2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We’ve had a great time at Anna’s place. It’s a lovely, little cottage with everything you need to relax and unwind. We’ve stayed for four nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The location is great as there’s so much to do in the area. Even the welsh weather was on our side. Anna was in touch all the way through our stay and made sure we’ve settled in. I would recommend this place to anyone, whether you just want to unwind or make the most of the beauty of North Wales.

    Ewa2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage. Immaculately clean and perfect for a weekend or week's break. We really enjoyed our time there. Ideal location, handy for amenities in town and great views. Thanks to Anna for being the perfect host.

  • Anna’s cottage was perfect for our family of three, sparkling clean, lovely and cosy, great parking and a fabulous location for exploring Snowdonia. It was so nice to come back to a wood burner and amazing shower after a day in the mountains. We’d definitely recommend it and will hopefully be back soon!

    Rachel2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely rustic cottage, felt very cosy with the log burner. Perfect for exploring the local area! Great communication from Anna, checking we had everything we needed for our stay.

    Rachel2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very lovely cottage. Quirky. Log fire which we now know how to light and it makes for a superbly cosy lounge. Heating very effective. Not a lot of headroom above the main bed but you learn quickly! Laid out very well and very clean. Kitchen well stocked with crockery and cutlery. Anna kept in close contact to make sure that everything was ok which was kind of her. Great communication. We would definitely recommend and hope to return soon.

  • Perfect location for a weekend break in North Wales. We were able to walk to zip world from the cottage and took the scenic route through the back gate directly into the forest. The cottage exceeded all expectations and was more of a home away from home with lovely small touches like fresh flowers. Communication with Ceri was brilliant and she was on hand providing useful tips, no issues with check in/out and next time we head to North Wales we will most defiently go back.

    Georgie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most marvellous time at Ceri's miners cottage. It looks so tiny from the outside, big on the inside! It has been thoughtfully redecorated inside with lots of light, a lovely fireplace and a great kitchen. Ceri was on hand and greeted us as soon as we arrived (a little later than planned!) Two bedrooms, one on the ground with step-free access to bathroom, and one on the first floor with access to the garden. Great access to local sites. We visited the slate museum, ate at local restaurants (15 min walk away) and don't miss the Zip World!!

    Sarah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely cottage with wonderful hostess. Ceri provided lovely welcoming touches and communication was faultless, quick and thorough. Location is great for adventures yet it’s very quiet. We found the cottage clean, spacious and really homely. It was also incredibly warm and cosy. Really couldn’t fault it!

  • A gorgeous, cosy cottage with plenty of space to relax. Perfect location with lots of things to do and fantastic walks if you get the weather!! The log fire is the perfect way to a end a day where you can enjoy a drink and completely relax!! Everything you can think of is on hand in the cottage to use even books and games for the kids!! An amazing cottage that is more than we could ever have imagined!! xxxx

    Michelle2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent location situated in the gorgeous Snowdonia national park. The accommodation is sparkly clean and has wonderful little touches like fresh flowers, food in the fridge and even chocolate buttons for my son. A selection of games and books to keep little ones entertained as well. The garden is lovely but not easily accessible if you have limited mobility. Perfect for a weekend away or a longer stay. Perfect hosts who went above and beyond.

  • I want to say Thankyou for a lovely visit and to have access to your personal land with the caravans on. Everything was just perfect and I really cannot wait to visit again, I would highly recommend visiting to all my family and friends! We enjoyed a lovely glass of Cava in the evening with warm blankets and snacks before bed, and used the kitchen facilities to cook a English breakfast! I have some wonderful pictures of your dogs and cats, they absolutely loved my little Sister, they wouldn’t leave her alone the entire visit! The dogs loved placing fetch with a stick, and also knocked for us to come and play with a stick in their mouths at 9am this morning! Lovely dogs! Lovely touch with the milk, sauces, shampoo, conditioner and lots more!! Thanks again! P.s thanks again for keeping hold of the bits we didn’t spot when packing away! Amy x

  • Great property. Clean and tidy. All you need for a home from home. To arrive after a 5 hour drive and have the basics in place (tea, coffee, milk and sugar) so you can just come in and put the kettle on, that’s service. Property has great views over the valley and out to sea. The area is rural and very peaceful. Only a 5 minute drive to Zipworld which was handy. Will definitely be going back in the summer when the weather will hopefully be better.

  • This place looks exactly as pictured and the little amenities were great touches that were quite thoughtful like full bottles of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. It's a nice quiet location so great to be able to chill and then head out to wherever you plan to visit. Andrea was a brilliant host, she responded very quickly to my messages and helped us with handy tips on where to visit. Definitely recommend.

  • Absolutely superb. We had so much fun and, having stayed in North Wales before, was a superb location. Mountains at the rear for my mountain bikers and peaceful outlook. BBQ hut amazing!! Superb hosts and the place incredibly comfortable! Stayed here with my partner and two big teenage boys (with bikes). Great size.

The spacious, well equipped and comfortable Garden Flat is ideal for a quiet, escape from it all, holiday in rural North Wales. It has views of the Snowdonia mountains and wonderful sunsets from the private patio. Conveniently situated for many local attractions.
Cysgod y Coed is a converted 200 year old barn complex set in a very peaceful location amid beautiful countryside on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. The Garden Flat is a roomy comfortable ground floor apartment attached to the main house, with its own private entrance. The Garden flat has a spacious entrance porch leading into a large living/dining room with TV, Free-view box and free Wi-Fi. There is an electric coal effect fire and central heating. Leading off the lounge is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, microwave oven, gas hob and electric oven. The flat is essentially for a couple, as the large bedroom is furnished with a king-sized bed (bedding is provided) but there is room for the single truckle bed provided and a travel cot available if required. There is also an en-suite bathroom with an over bath shower. Please bring your own towels. Outside there is a very private large decked patio with a seating area overlooking the surrounding countryside and facing west so the sunsets are glorious.
The Garden flat is set in secluded, beautiful countryside half a mile from the village of Rachub where there is a well stocked shop and a pub. Buses also run from here into Bangor. The town of Bethesda is 1 mile away and here you will find 3 small supermarkets, Indian (award winning!) and Chinese takeaways and 2 fish and chip shops. The city of Bangor is 6 miles away. On the doorstep are the Carneddi Mountains and a 20 minute walk will take you up onto the hillside with many walks for you to enjoy. The Ogwen Valley is 10 mins drive away and Betws y Coed is 13 miles away. Llanberis and the Snowdon Railway are 12 miles away and Anglesey with its wonderful beaches is about a 30 minute drive. Our nearest attraction is the Famous Zip Wire (Zip World) which is 10 mins by car. Nearby National Trust properties include Penrhyn Castle, Plas Newydd and Bodnant Gardens and the Cadw castles of Caernarfon , Beaumaris and Conwy are within a twenty mile radius.
  • The garden flat was amazing! Stunning location with some amazing walks very nearby. Patricia and Pete were amazing and Pete really made us feel at home and stopped at nothing to make sure we had a great experience. The value for money was incredible. Definitely recommend!

    Andrew2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little quiet stay, nice and out of the way with some great local walks. Patricia and Pete were super accommodating with dogs and extra guests. Would highly recommend - everything we needed.

    Gemma2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely last minute weekend away at The Garden Flat. Pete sent us full details straight away, directions were spot on and our dog received a warm welcome too. As described on their listing the cottage is remote and down a ‘rustic’ lane. Fine for most cars, just take it slow - I wouldn’t bring anything with low suspension in case you were considering bringing the sports car! The flat was more spacious than we were expecting with oodles of room for the three of us. A self contained annex / cottage with everything you need in the kitchen if you wanted to cook and a huge comfortable bed. The porch area was great for drying the dogs paws. There is no pretence, we received a lovely warm welcome, the perfect place to stay with your dog to explore snowdonia and Anglesea.

  • Communication was quick and check in was simple. The owner greeted us, showed as where to park and ran through everything. He even leant us a dog lead as we forgot ours. Rooms are much bigger then the photos show. It isn’t 5* luxury which is reflected in the cost, but more then met expectations and has everything you’d need. Great location for walks and minutes away from several towns. Would definitely stay again

    Beau2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place to get away from it all. Surrounded by trees and mountains there is nothing to hear apart from the rain hitting the leaves. Patricia and Pete are very welcoming but absolutely leave you to your own thing and we only really saw them when we were getting in the car to go out or come back. Very old-fashioned inside but that makes the flat even nicer. The bed was extremely comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked with microwave and oven etc. It's a bit out of the way but very easy to find with a sat nav will take you directly to their door almost. We spent 3 nights here and we absolutely loved it and I can assure you that you will too.

  • Just got back from a last minute weekend at Jocelyn’s place, it was really comfortable and we had everything we could have wanted. Jocelyn even left a few toys out for our little one to play with and there where doggy treats in the cupboard for our pooch too! Super place, in a super location - definitely worth a visit!

  • We had a lovely stay. Amazing location, host was very helpful and really dog friendly! Really warm and cosy too, even in Snowdonia in January!

    Timothy2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time bringing in the new year in this lovely place. The stay was comfortable, relaxing and definitely needed. We had access to everything that we could need (kitchen, bathroom etc) and the local supermarket isn't too far away. Jocelyn and her family are lovely, and our dog enjoyed meeting their dog. Location wise, it's not too tricky to find, just takes a little concentration with the turns etc. We would highly recommend this place! And suggest a trip to Cwm Idwal - a great spot for dog walking and exploring the countryside.

    Ashleigh2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A great location situated within a short drive from the best Snowdonia has to offer. Especially good if you’re heading for the Ogwen Valley or Llanberis Pass. The cottage is pot on for two people with a very well equipped space and welcome touches. Our hosts were super friendly, communicative and let us be while being on hand. The cottage was spotless when we arrived, and getting in and out a breeze. We arrived at dusk and did have to keep a keen eye out for the address. This is one of the best value rentals in one of the best mountain locations we’ve found so far. Epic!

  • Absolutely lovely little cottage in a nice area on the edge of town. The space fit my girlfriend and I very comfortably and didn't leave us wanting for anything. A short walk from a Tesco Express and a bit further for a Londis was perfect for our shopping needs. The hosts were super quick to respond and resolved our problems very expediently, even working around our schedules as needed. Kept us well stocked up on logs for the cold month, even for the storms we experienced! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Dillon2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing cottage, well worth staying in, ideal location for some mountain adventures. Will definitely be back :)!

  • A lively petite cottage with a warm feeling. The fireplace is an amazing touch and really comes handy in the cold winter nights of North Wales. The location is also great, giving a quick access to many wonderful locations in Snowdonia.

    Umit2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous cottage! Katy and moss were perfect hosts from the start - easy to contact and provided all the info we needed. The cottage was small but cosy and comfortable and stocked with all the essentials. We loved the log burner after a chilly walk! My only issue was that options for eating out were extremely limited in the village, however there were 2 friendly pubs! Plus a tesco selling pretty much everything. All in all a wonderful place to stay when exploring this area of Wales.

    Nikki2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was a lovely, cosy place to stay and a great base for zip world and a fantastic walk up Snowdon. The immediate amenities in Bethesda weren’t great, especially at this time of year, but Katy and Moss give lots of info about places to visit and eat a short drive away. The cottage was really sweet, clean and well equipped and perfect what we needed.

    Jane2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Another great Airbnb find. This is a very comfortable cottage which has everything you might need for a relaxing stay, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is a great base for climbing in the Carneddau and Glyders, plus rock climbing on the Idwal slabs, for example. In the village of Bethesda there is a comprehensive range of good eating and drinking places and the Londis store has a particularly excellent range of food, wine and beers as well as a very useful Post Office counter.

    John2019-10-10T00:00:00Z

Aled was so helpful as we needed to replace our car tyres while there and he provided the details of a local garage. Highly recommended!

  • A beautifully presented home with everything you need. Perfectly positioned for the mountains!

    Kyle2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Aled was such a wonderful host! When we arrived the house was as amazing if not more beautiful than we expected. It was so cosy and Aled has kindly left a hamper of some snacks and essentials which was a lovely touch. The weather was pretty awful because of the storm but having a log burner made it feel so wonderful staying in and snuggling up on the sofa. The decor was so beautiful that it immediately made us relax. We really hope to stay next time we visit Snowdon!

    Rebecca2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for walking. Great views. The front room is super cosy helped along by the log burner. Very stylish place. That hill is super steep so heeds Aleds advice. Great value for money and would definitely recommend to stay here.

    Tracy2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous house. Clean, tidy and everything you could need. Lovely garden for our dogs with a lovely view. Aled went above and beyond to make our stay the best! The welcome hamper he left for us was so thoughtful, especially the bottle of fizz! He replied almost straight away to any questions we had, brilliant. One of the best weekends away we’ve had using air b&b. Not only was the house spot on but the people in the near by town were so friendly. It really made our New Year’s Eve go off with a bang! Hopefully we will be returning as not only did we enjoy it our two dogs and our friends dog also had a wail of a time. Superb 🙌

Cwt Glo is a cosy and peaceful cottage for two in Northern Snowdonia nestled between two mountain ranges the Carneddau and Glyderau. Cwt Glo is situated in a small village near Bethesda called Mynydd Llandygai. There is private off road parking next to the cottage. Cwt Glo is Welsh for Coal house and the cottage was the place where the coal was weighed and measured. The property has been both a farm and coal yard for the local area. Cwt Glo is a semi sustainable/off grid cottage it has a solar and wind system however there is the backup of mains electricity. There is also an LPG central heating and hot water system. The cottage has a wood burning stove to keep you cosy and warm in the evening after a busy day exploring the local area. We also provide the wood for your stay.
The cottage has it's own private entrance and parking. Character kitchen with wooden beams and quarry tiles. Everything you need for cooking is provided including fridge freezer, gas oven and hob, toaster and dining table. It is fully equipped with cooking equipment and utensils. Living room includes a local heritage slate fireplace and log burner, settee and armchair. We provide all the logs and kindling for your stay. Bedroom is a beautiful Welsh mezzanine crog loft with double bed. Please note the bedroom has low ceilings with access via wooden stairs. Bathrooms. There is a large shower/wet room and a separate toilet and sink. A storage room with clothes rack and hangers. Perfect if you need to store shoes, suitcases or have coats. Cottage garden and decking area with table and chairs perfect for watching the mountains changing colour at sunset. Or to star gaze! We are lucky that we have such amazing views of the Glyderau and Carneddau mountain range from Cwt Glo. There is private off road parking for the cottage. Please do not smoke inside the cottage.
Our location makes us really quite special we are in a village which is 1000ft above sea level and we have views of both the Glyderau and Carneddau mountain ranges in Snowdonia. Mynydd Llandygai is a very community spirited village with a village hall which hosts a cafe or supper club once a month, music events, yoga and even gong baths! The village is surrounded by mountains and there are many beautiful walks around the village with views of Snowdon, the Menai Strait, Anglesey and Lleyn Peninsula. There are mountain bike trails in the village and cycle paths nearby.
  • Cwt Glo is a lovely get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life in exchange for a relaxed, cosy and comfy cottage high up in the Northern Welsh mountains. With a lovely shower, wood burner and well laid out kitchen, it offers everything you need to unplug and discharge without any distractions. My wife and I found it the perfect spot to read a book or play some board games after a day out exploring the Welsh mountainside.

  • We know where to come back next time we come to Snowdonia, Simon and Sarah's place is the right cottage for getting to know the region. We were very nicely welcomed, great location and comfort place, nice wooden oven and nice shower and all this off grid!

    Cecile2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay despite storm Dennis! The location was great, the hosts are very thoughtful and the fire was lovely. The only things that would have made it better would be faster wifi (but wouldn’t need this if the weather was good) and better heating at times

    Sabrina2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really cosy and peaceful. Beautifully done up, immaculately clean and great sustainable values. Brilliant location for mountains either Ogwen valley or Snowdon are a short drive. Not far to Anglesey for beaches too. Very thoughtful provision of a drying/storage room. Wonderful hot shower. A lovely welcome pack and welcoming, generous hosts. Thank you!

    Stephanie2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed during winter and were cosy in front of the log burner in Simon's ECO home. Step out into glorious scenery during the daytime and uninterrupted stargazing at night. Everything you need for a relaxed retreat and access to great walks. Thoughtful touches.

    Elise2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and Simon are great hosts. They are as reactive as it can get. They have good advises to make your holidays unique. They are flexible. They created a little paradise. But most of all, they are warm, friendly and carrying people! Thank you a lot for those few days Max and Marie

    Marie2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We received a very warm welcome by Simon and Sarah with a freshly made cake! The eco cottage was cosy and had everything we needed. The woodburner made it extra snuggly. Thanks for a great stay :)

Our tent was really thoughtfully furnished, with everything you need and a very comfortable (and warm) bed. The extra touches on site such as the kitchen trailer, amazing showers, bath and powder room make the experience even nicer. I only wish we had had chance to try the barbecue hut!

    Gemma2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea's place was beautiful and lovely. I was really looking forward to camping but as a student abroad I couldn't afford to hire a car and buy camping equipment. Andrea's place let me be able to experience camping again and in a way that wasn't too inconvenient. I really enjoyed my stay, it was very comfortable and amazing. The amenities and items provided were very thoughtful and useful! I would love to come back here with my friends again if I could! Andrea was a lovely host who was very welcoming and friendly. She helped to answer any questions I had. Andrea's dogs and farm animals were really cute as well! Andrea's place is a gem in Airbnb. Thank you Andrea and family :-)

This is a lovely twin room in a spacious house, on the outskirts of Tregarth village. Option of a 3rd mattress on the floor. The shared bathroom is close to the bedroom and the kitchen is available for tea and coffee, along with fridge space. Simple breakfast (cereal and toast) is available. The house is home to us, our son and our Jack Russel. Off road parking is available. Garden available for sunny evenings, or evening fires. Cycle track, cafe and a pub (no food) all within a 5 minute walk.
The spacious house is on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, and close to Zipworld, and other attractions. Anglesey is a short drive away. We are very close to the cycle track and a network of lovely footpaths. Pick up and drop off for the North Wales and Anglesey Coast path can be provided by prior arrangement. We have several walking, climbing, wild swimming and cycling guides and maps which you are welcome to borrow. We also have an acoustic guitar that you are welcome to use.
The area is very green, with trees and hills. There is a good bus service in to Bangor and the Ogwen Valley is a 5 minute drive away. The cycle track (Lon Las Ogwen) leads to Bangor in one direction and to Idwel Cottage (up the Ogwen valley) in the other. The area is a particularly good base for the attractions of Snowdonia and Anglesey, as well walking, climbing and water sports.
  • Would definitely stay again if that way, felt like a home from home.

    Anita2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I've had another pleasant stay with Ben and his family. I found everyone to be warm and welcoming as usual and I was even taught how to play backgammon! :)

    Chris2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • I've had another pleasant stay at Ben's. It works well for me whilst I'm working in Bangor for a few days a week. The room is quiet - both from internal and external noise - Ben and his family make me feel welcome, the place is clean and comfortable, and we've yet to have any bathroom clashes. This is my third stay at Ben's and I'm planning on returning again, that in itself tells you a lot about the place and the hosts.

    Chris2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second stay at Ben's house. As with the previous stay, everyone in the household was friendly and made me feel welcome. The hosts provided more local knowledge of places where I could eat, factoring in my restrictive dietary choices. The bedroom is comfortable and quiet. Overall this is a nice place to stay

    Chris2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed another night at Ben and Jude's. Great hospitality as usual. Had a good rest. Others should take the room without hesitation. I'm a European certified assessor of quality. This place is good.

    Russell2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • I found Ben to be friendly, warm, and welcoming. Ben gave me some good tips on where to eat locally. The bedroom was spacious and comfy and at night it was dark and quiet which was conducive to a good night's sleep

    Chris2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Ben and Jude have a really nice place. Hospitality was excellent. The shower....oh the shower... if anyone needs a really nice shower, this is where you'll find it - in a massive bathroom! Everything at the house is in order. I'd stay again. If you're thinking of staying with Ben and Jude, stop thinking and start booking! (I have not been offered any incentives for giving this glowing feedback).

  • We planned a last - minute trip to Snowdonia and were lucky enough to find Jonathan's apartment. The check-in was seamless, he was incredibly helpful when my phone went dead and we needed extra directions, and the apartment was gorgeous and cozy. He even stocked the kitchen with delicious fresh groceries, and put a vase of spring flowers in the bedroom. It was a perfect home in Wales.

  • Lovely space, nicely decorated. We stayed for two nights to do some walking in the area and was pleased to find this warm space to return to. We did one walk from the place which is always so much nicer than having to drive, and next day went up Tryfan which is only 10 mins drive away. Seeing as we visited in January it’s notso surprising the bathroom was cold! But warmed up quickly as there’s lots of hot water. Would happily stay again.

  • We loved Anna and Jim’s cottage! The place was easy to find and in a great location for outdoor enthusiasts. Our weather was poor while we were there but the cozy cottage kept us comfortable and happy with its large collection of DVDs, video games and board games. We enjoyed reading by the wood fire (which was already built for us when we arrived) and cooking in the well-stocked kitchen. Very comfy bed and linens. Loved the decor and the natural cleaning/body products. We appreciated the breakfast provided and all the little touches. Communication with Jim and Anna was excellent. Great value, especially for a family or group of friends wanting to make the most of the area.

    Megan2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely love this place, this was our 2nd time here and we will be coming back in the future. It is absolutely perfect for a quiet break with just your partner. It is also perfect if your here to walk up snowdonia or other amazing adventures and have a home from home to go back to and get cosy in front of the log burner.

    Paul2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • After booking we were welcomed to arrive at the cottage at any time that was convenient for us which helped with our long journey. The cottage is located in a beautiful village at the foothills of the mountains, with easy access to all the attractions. The house looks small and beautiful from the outside but very big inside with a lovely log burner already prepared. It was lovely and warm when we arrived late at night. Beautiful rooms and very confortable beds. The kitchen was perfect for cooking with some essential supplies provided like milk, bread, butter, oil, etc... Also some nice treats such us speciality teas and snacks. We really enjoyed our stay and we would certainly come back if we are in the area. We were there during a horrendous storm and Jim and Anna kindly suggested that we stay an extra night free of charge as they were worried for our safety in getting home.

    Maria Jose2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay here. It’s the perfect place to unwind and relax in, especially with the amazing view of the mountains. Anna & Jim’s hospitality is outstanding! Fantastic communication and so many thoughtful touches. Highly recommend!

  • This is a lovely cosy cottage with a wood burner which was very welcome in the bad weather. It has a good size dining room where we all ate and chatted. Well equipped kitchen which made making a family meal easy. A good sized bathroom and three comfortable bedrooms. We had a great little break here and were very close to Zip World which we went to, great fun! We will hopefully be back again soon.

    Bridget2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location for zip wire. Jim & Ann are really nice and friendly. 😃

    Jeremy2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our family (with adult children) stayed at Jim and Anna's lovely cottage over New Years. We had a lovely time and really enjoyed the comfortable lounge and well-stocked kitchen. The 3 bedrooms are all spacious and comfortable. We did lots of walks in the area and even managed to get to the top of Glyder Fawr one day! Spectacular views and worth the scramble if the weather is good. Anna has provided lots of books and games and DVD's so we enjoyed time together each evening; the fire provided the perfect touch. Thanks Jim and Anna for letting us use your lovely cottage. We hope to come back soon.

Lounge and dining room are spacious accompanied with a study with all board games you'd need. Breakfast provided which includes bread, cereal, butter, milk with tea and coffee. All essentials are included. Welsh cakes are another fantastic addition. Would definitely recommend this house. Communication is great and would thoroughly enjoyed the stay!

Mountain View is a cosy home from home ideally situated for accessing either the mountains for walking or the Zip World in Bethesda, both of which are a 10 min stroll away! There’s a wealth of activities & amenities available within walking distance of the door. The house is family & pet friendly, & Bethesda is a great spot for a relaxing getaway. The village is well equipped with a Tesco Express, cafes, pubs, range of take aways and Bangor is only 10 minutes down the road! NOW WITH A HOT TUB!!!
The house benefits from views out over Penrhyn Quarry, the Carneddi mountain range and on a clear day you can even see as far as Anglesey! The house itself is an old stone built property which is spacious and naturally light and airy. There’s wooden floors throughout and comfy furniture that’ll make you feel right at home. New for October 2019 is a hot tub in the rear garden for your own personal use. The space is a suitable bolthole for keen ramblers as you can literally walk out of the back door and out onto the hills, then return in the evening to relax and put your feet up. Or perhaps visit the traditional Welsh local pub which is on the opposite side of the road!
Mountain View is a 5 minute walk from Zip World in Penrhyn Quarry. Plus it is easily accessible by only a 10 minute drive to Bangor and the A55. Snowdon is a 20 minute drive down the A5. Betws-Y-Coed is 25 minutes away and you can be on Anglesey in under 15 minutes.
  • Lovely little cottage, hot tub and the lights around it made it lovely to sit in of an evening, in the summer the garden would be a nice little spot! We also took our 2 dogs who enjoyed the walks to Aber falls and Braichmelyn woods (as recommended by Crystal). Perfect spot for zip world and not far from any essentials you might need whilst there, lovely countryside surroundings

    Emma2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy place, hot tub was great for the evenings. All we needed in the kitchen to make a lovely dinner. Great location, close to Bangor and Snowdon.

    Aimee2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place, clean and very central for snowdonia. The hot tub was wonderful and we were allowed to bring the dogs which was a lovely treat. Throughly recommend this place.

    Charles2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing break in this beautiful cottage, it was surprisingly spacious and had everything we could need and more - a real home from home. The cottage is in a great location for exploring Snowdonia and Anglesey, the weather wasn't on our side but it was lovely to come back to a warm, cosy and very comfortable house after days out battling Storm Dennis! The hot tub was the highlight of the stay, we used it every day. There is fencing around the hot tub with pretty lights which make it very private and relaxing. The garden was also great for our dog, completely enclosed so she could sniff around to her hearts content. We parked in the car park opposite the cottage after seeing some of the reviews about the parking space around the back, we had no trouble ever getting a space in the carpark. Bethesda is a lovely little town with cafes and small supermarkets. The views from the cottage are beautiful! We hope to return again - preferably when it's a little less rainy and windy! Thank you for sharing your place with us!

    Charlotte2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely little house right in the middle of Bethesda! Lovely view of snowdon, it is on top of a huge hill so be warned if coming in a small car with a heavy load! The house was clean and easy to find once there, Crystal was always on hand to help us if any questions. Didn’t get to use the hot tub mainly due to weather but it’s a lovely little touch! We will definitely be returning!

    Emma2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic warm house, everything you could need, Crystal is on hand should you have any questions. Parking space to the back is itself large but the road to it is very tight and I struggled with a golf, I would advise parking in the car park rather than at the back. Hot tub was amazing, we had a fantastic couple of nights.

    Emily2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely clean cottage, home from home, perfect for couples, family’s and dog friendly. Ideal location for snowdon, slate caverns and Aber falls. Action packed weekend with added additional of the hot tub! Thank you

    Rebecca2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little house with beautiful views. Its on a street at the top of a huge steep hill so bare that in mind and the parking is a real tight squeeze for any car bigger than a hatchback. But the stay was just what we wanted, loads of amazing walks near by and enough shops/take aways etc to enjoy. Most importantly, the pub opposite was perfect for a cold beer by the log burner then taking a dip in the hot tub was an amazing way to end the evening! Recommend to all.

  • Beautiful place with beautiful views. There is a door that leads up to what I can assume is the hosts house which was a little odd and the bed was a little uncomfortable, but it's a beautiful place nonetheless that is spotless clean and I'd stay back there for sure.

'Tŷ Pérson' is an original, simple Welsh slateworker's cottage in the Braichmelyn area of Bethesda and just by Snowdonia National Park.
Tŷ Pérson is our original, simple Welsh slateworker's cottage in the Braichmelyn area of Bethesda and just by Snowdonia National Park. We have modernised it, and are continuing to do so while seeking to retain as many original features as possible. It is moments from Zipworld and from the Carneddau mountains. Snowdon itself is a 20 minute drive away, and you are only a short distance by car from Bangor town centre and Anglesey. There is a regular bus service between Bangor and Bethesda and the nearest train station is in Bangor. The high street of Bethesda is about 10 minutes walk and has a range of pubs, small supermarkets and takeaways. Tesco is open daily until 11pm. There's a folder filled with useful local information at the property. The cottage has two bedrooms, one upstairs with double bed and one downstairs with two single beds. There is a living room with 2 armchairs and double sofabed, a kitchen and a bathroom. There is no gas central heating so if there have been no guests for a while it might feel a little cold on arrival in the winter months, but it quickly warms up; the living room has a woodburning stove and there are various electric radiators dotted around. The bathroom also has an electric radiator set to keep it warm at all times. There is a small TV with Chromecast and fast unlimited fibre broadband. The kitchen is equipped with a small fridge and small electric oven with hob. The bathroom has an electric shower. Outside there is a garden, but please note this is "work in progress" at the moment so things like steps are slippery and you need to take care on these. The outhouses at the back are not safe to enter! Parking is in the street outside, but please note that James Street is quite narrow and it may be easier to park in surrounding streets. As the cottage is a period property, please note the stairs to the upstairs bedroom are very steep and narrow too and the bedroom ceilings are low. Please note that we do not accept pets at the property.
  • Had a fantastic time as always. Thank you.

  • Andrew’s place is an absolute gem, perfect for accessing all of Snowdonia’s delights. The cottage is lovely and cosy and we hope to come again in future.

  • A lovely little cottage. Stayed for 6 nights with my two boy aged 11 and 14. Cozy homely feel to the place. We had so much fun exploring the stunning surrounding area then back to the cottage each night to light the fire and settle down ready for the next day. We all loved the quirky nature of the place with its low and high ceilings and hope to come back soon as there is so much more to do and we felt really at home in the house.

    Jon2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay to explore Snowdonia. Kitted our with everything we needed for our busy week of climbing and walking, was amazing to have access to maps and local guide books. The bed was very comfortable and it was nice to be able to light the wood burner after a busy day.

    Amy2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very charming accommodation. Andrew was very quick to respond and answer our questions, and the neighbours were polite and friendly. The location is ideal for snowdonia and there is a Tesco Express within walking distance. The log burning stove made it feel really cosy, lovely to come back after a long walk and sit by the fire. Worth every penny, would definitely revisit.

  • Andrew was a very helpful host and was quick to answer any questions we had. The cottage suited us well as we had long days and it was great to come back to the cosy, warm place each evening. Would recommend!

A light and airy ground floor apartment, part of a renovated chapel. The flat used to be this 19th century methodist chapel's vestry; today it is a modern space including a conservatory and a small, private garden. A spacious living room contains a sofa bed for additional guests. The bedroom has an incredibly comfortable super king sized bed. Tea, coffee, milk and cereal are provided as well as toileteries, towels and bed linen. Come enjoy our incredible view of the Carneddau mountains!
Close to Zip World Bethesda, the longest zip wire in Europe. A short drive from the mountains of Snowdonia and beaches of Angelsey.
  • Berthan is an exceptional and very responsive host. The location is great, the setting superb, and the accommodation spotlessly clean. To reserve eyes closed!

  • Bethany’s apartment is a really lovely space on the ground floor of a converted chapel. Private and very quiet, good heating and plenty of hot water - we were four adults over the Christmas break! Well equipped kitchen can sit four comfortably for family meal. Super large bed in the bedroom and 2 sofa beds in the spacious living room. We didn’t use the private terrace or the small conservatory as the weather was too cold but enjoyed the views of the hills! Great location for nature lovers with walks straight from the door! Would not hesitate to recommend

  • Such a lovely little apartment. We were unable to check in until 2am as we had to drive from London and were working late on Friday. No problem at all for Bethan. She was more than happy to accommodate us. Excellent clear instructions sent for how to find the place. It’s so warm, clean and cosy. Breakfast out in the conservatory looking over the Welsh hills is a perfect way to start any morning. It’s about 15 minutes from Bangor town, 10 minutes from Tesco and only 25 from Snowdon. We had an awesome time climbing Snowdon and coming back to a lovely warm, cosy apartment for a great quiet sleep in a king size bed was just what we needed. Highly recommend this place! Bethan is lovely and responds really quickly to all messages. Super helpful and polite! We will certainly be coming back to Snowdon summer 2020 and staying here if it’s available!

    Tom2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place this is... Perfect apartment which has everything you could ask for. It is sparkling clean throughout and the huge bed is soooo comfortable. The host left fresh bread, milk and eggs and even some a Welsh cakes - which was a lovely touch and we were very grateful for. Much bigger than the pictures show. I cannot say enough good things about this place and will definitely return next time I visit Wales.
