Three log cabins (Sleep 2 in each) TV in both. Wc / Washroom. One outdoor shower and a outdoor bath. Log burning Finnish Sauna. Treehouse sleps two persons. We also an out door bbq dining area.Magnificent views over the hills and down to the river. Only 1 mile from the famous Lake Vyrnwy and Dam.
  • If you like a quirky place to stay then you will love this. A series of wooden cabins and tree house, it is certainly not a conventional holiday let. But we loved it and will definitely come back again. Be aware this is a little like a mixture of normal b&b and camping. Stuart is a very friendly and helpful host and communication was very easy. A highlight for us was the bath with an unhindered view of the river (ie no wall or window....it just looks out over the river.) You may think this might be a bit drafty, but we loved it after our swim in the river on a wet day in March. The shower also does not have a roof, and there is a second bath that is completely outdoors. Fantastic!! Lots of hot water too. Shame we didnt find time for the sauna. The main bedroom cabins were warm and cosy and we had a comfortable nights sleep listening to the rain and the river. If you're looking for a holiday home with a difference, then this is the place for you. 😊

  • Great little place, pretty simple stay

  • The perfect way to get back to nature, no phones, just beautiful Welsh countryside.

  • Wonderful ... complete retreat away from everything ... you can’t help relax. Red hot outdoor bath was superb ... the log cabin was super cosy with an excellent nostalgic selection of VHS. Stuart gave us a lift to the dam due to weather conditions with excellent advice on the return walk home ... great hospitality and a must to ‘get away from it all’.

  • My partner and I drove for 6 hours to reach Stuarts place for a one night stay, but it was worth every minute of the drive. Following Stuarts direction to the property made finding the accomodation a breeze. We were warmly welcomed with a glass of Pinot, pleasant conversation, followed by a tour of the grounds. We unfortunately arrived during storm Dennis, so as expected the pathways were very muddy and slippery, but this did not spoil our experience, the cabins have stunning views of the river that runs through Stuarts land, it has to be seen to be believed. We stayed in the main cabin, it is far from a shed but a properly built log cabin that kept us dry and warm! The whole place is very cute and cosy. The kitchen was well supplied with plates and cooking accessories and the bedroom has a small TV with a big choice of VHS to choose from Bathing outside in the storm is an experience I will never forget, and bathing in the skypod in the morning with the river running directly in front of you is simply amazing. Stuarts house is closer than it appears in photos, however it is downhill of the cabins offering privacy. When we checked out we were kindly offered a cup of tea which we turned down as we had a long drive ahead, however Stuart made a point of insisting we visit the Lake and Dam, and we are thrilled he did so, as this was simply stunning. We can't wait to experience Stuarts property again in the warmer and dryer weather!.

  • Had a brilliant time away at Stuarts place! Definitely recommend this to my friends and family, beautiful place with the most beautiful surroundings, would come back again in a heart beat! Great time, and super host!

  • Stuart's cabins were a perfect rustic place to get away from the city. He was a great host, making a fire for us and providing excellent local tips! It was nice to have a taste of outdoors on our visit to Whales.

  • Stuart is a very attentive, friendly and helpful host. The place is set in a beautiful location. The cabins are warm and comfortable. The outdoor bath was an amazing experience. It is a wonderful place for those who love outdoor living, perfect balance between rustic and comfortable. Highly recommend. Thank you!

Situated in the grounds of Caerau Gardens, a charming and unusual bolt hole for a couple to stay in. With under-floor heating, a Sauna and a large screen and projector! The surroundings are stunning we even have a lake for fishing, swimming or perhaps kayaking. We’ve just gone “smart” with Alexa and fun lights! We are high in the hills, 5 miles east of Bala on the edge of Snowdonia, in easy reach of all that has to offer Not open due to virus, we would not dream of taking bookings I’m afraid
Sauna and projector with large screen for films, it has a slot for dvds and vga connectivity for a laptop, we have some films. Very comfortable large mattress accessable by ladder above sauna and under a velux window to the stars. Everything you need in a compact and stylish space. BBQ and seating area plus a new deck with more chairs and table overlooking the view. There is even a sunken trampoline outside your door! If you would like a really remote farmhouse have a look at Tyn Llyn by our lake for 2 people or maybe children camping. No electricity! But quite a spot! Or Tai Isaf if there are more of you, so remote you need to borrow our4x4 unless you have your own. For families of up to 6 but there is electricity and heating, certainly no neighbours!
The area: - Bala is a fairly small town of about 2000 inhabitants but it has all you need in the way of shops and is about 5 miles from us. It has the lake railway and of course the lake. Sarah and Mark of bala water sports can help you out with that and all sorts of activities, see their web site. There is white water rafting on the Tryweryn too. A lot of visitors do Snowdon, it is an obvious choice but there are lots of less crowded mountains too. Loads of other walking choices of course and a lot of people just stay and walk from the door. We have 600 acres of hill, mountain and valley and our lake. On the land are stone circles and flint aged/Roman camp “Caer Euni”. The lake is 18 acres and good for swimming. There is a kayak you can borrow and course fishing for pike and perch, we can find you some tackle. We also have a couple of mountain bikes for you to borrow. Elsewhere in Snowdonia there is so much to do that web searches are your best bet but lots of coast obviously and castles. People love “zip world” and “bounce below” they need booking. Food: - the bryntirion pub in Llandderfel or really special food at the Tyddyn Llan or Pale Hall. Rhug isn’t bad either and there are good Indian restaurants in Bala and Corwen. We can do meals for you until about 6.30pm and in the season our cafe is open until 5 anyway. I hope this gives you some ideas to research! Toby and Stephanie
  • This accommodation exceeds expectations. I could not recommend it more. For us, it felt like a home away from home. The grounds and views were spectacular - we would love to come back in the summer to see everything in full bloom (and to be able to sit out and have a bbq and marvel in the views) We only met Toby, but he was such a lovely host and made us feel very welcome. There are so many small touches that really made our stay, such as the projector of an evening and the underfloor heating after an afternoon exploring the surrounding area. The well-behaved dogs and duck made us so happy. With one of the dogs coming on a walk with us-they stole our hearts. One thing that really drew us to the accommodation was the fact that you can lay in bed and look out at the stars- the views did not fail us, definitely a great accommodation for a romantic getaway ( if you do go, open the window in the morning the sounds of wildlife will make you feel so happy) Will definitely book to go back again !! Thank you Toby for letting us stay!

  • Enjoyed a wonderful two-night stay in the pigsty. Set in incredible Welsh countryside compete with spectacular views, it was just the kind of retreat we needed. The accommodation is fantastic, with the sauna offering a perfect welcome home after a long walk and the projector a great addition for film nights! We loved the resident dogs, who enthusiastically accompanied us for a walk and also Trump, the friendly duck! Toby and Stephanie are great hosts and extremely welcoming/helpful. I'd have no hesitation recommending the Pigsty to fellow travelers :)

    Joel2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing place. The hosts were amazing and the stay was fantastic Toby was extremely helpful and friendly, lending me a fishing rod so that i could fish at their lake. The hospitality was one to remember and i can't recommend this stay enough!

    Jordan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Would highly recommend - fresh homemade bread and their own eggs provided a really nice touch! the bed was really comfortable and everything was sparkling clean!

    Shannon2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We both had an amazing 3 days in the pigsty, everything we needed and more. Friendly arrival with a fresh homemade loaf of bread and free range eggs, which was so welcoming after our long journey. Waking up every morning to beautiful scenery and surroundings. The pigsty has underfloor heating and a sauna to keep you all toasty for those cold cosied up nights. Would highly recommend, especially for those who are looking for a quiet getaway. If you’re an animal lover, the owners dogs are very welcoming and playful, you can even have a local walk and they would love to tag along. We will definitely return x

  • Lovely people, a unique spot, romantic setting for the girls, gadgets for the boys!

    Mark2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the pigsty from 17th to 20th of February 2020, during storm Dennis! Despite to battering wind and rain, we had a wonderful stay in the cosy pigsty. The initial communication with Toby on booking to accomodation was great and the directions we were given were very easy to follow. Once we arrived we were met by Stephanie with a loaf of the most delicious warm bread. She was incredibly friendly and helpful and gave us some good tips for during our stay. After settling in we were taken on a tour by the lovely dogs, who showed us to the lake and back. Such good service! The accommodation is so cosy. The underfloor heating is a great touch. I was initially concerned about the tiled floor in the winter but the floor kept a constant heat and the place felt really warm for the entire stay. The gardens surrounding the property are beautiful and we'd have loved to see them in full bloom and are considering returning to do just that. . We loved hearing the bird song in the morning and got a nice view of the stars from the window in the bedroom on the first night. We enjoyed some walks around the area, including the lake and beyond (the dogs will take you). If you didn't want to drive during your stay, this would be entirely possible as there are some lovely walks surrounding the property. If you walk beyond the lake you come across a lovely waterfall and some beautiful views. The sauna and projector are great touches and make the place feel more luxurious. We especially enjoyed a sauna after a long walk in the wind and rain. Very comfy bed, we slept so well every night. If you want to get out into the countryside for peace and quiet, go on some lovely walks and get away from it but still enjoy some luxuries and comfort then I would highly recommend the pigsty. • The most wonderful location, the most wonderful space to live in and very exceptional hosts. Myself and my boyfriend were wanting a peaceful weekend away for Valentine’s, and although storm Dennis didn’t allow us to explore the area well we still had the best time. The pigsty itself is such a brilliant space to be in for the weekend, the sauna was an amazing amenity and the nice touch of fresh bread and eggs on arrival really made this weekend special.

A gorgeous yurt with log cabin kitchen/dining room/shower/toilet located high in Cynwyd forest in the beautiful Berwyn mountains in North Wales on our off grid eco retreat centre. Dee Valley AONB on the doorstep, Snowdonia National Park nearby. Deep peace & tranquility, stunning skies and views, no light pollution. Abundant wildlife, nature and trees. Delicious unspoilt mountain spring water. Special, loving and healing vibe. Pets welcome. Experience life 'off-grid'....come glamping!
Ty Crwn Bach Idris is a very comfortable yurt with spectacular views which can easily accommodate four people. It has a double bed and a double sofa bed. It is beautifully furnished with lovely linens, wall hangings, rugs and fairy lights creating a warm and magical space. The log cabin near the yurt contains a full kitchen (including gas cooker, electric fridge, toaster, sink with hot and cold water), dining area and shower room with power shower, flushing toilet and sink. If you'd like to experience real eco living then a compost loo could be made available. There is a wood burning stove which heats up the space very quickly and is perfect for boiling the kettle for a warming cuppa or making a pan of tasty soup/stew. All pots/pans, crockery and cutlery, mugs and glasses are provided. We simply ask that you wash them before you leave. The yurt is light and airy with a clear round glass opening window in the roof and a south facing stable door to help keep things cool on sunny days and hot summer nights. The floor and walls are insulated so it's toasty even in the coldest of winters. There is also a BBQ and a fire pit. So hey....collect some wood from the forest and light a fire....you are glamping after all!!! The covered deck outside the yurt provides somewhere sheltered to sit and enjoy the BBQ or the fire pit, although there are grassy areas to use if you would prefer. In keeping with the ethos of our home, we have tried to use reclaimed/recycled/up cycled materials wherever possible. There are standard electrical sockets in the yurt and low energy lighting there and in the bathroom/kitchen which all run off renewable energy sources. So by staying in Ty Crwn Bach Idris you will be doing your bit to reduce pollution and carbon emissions. The log cabin facilities are shared with the guests staying in our larger yurt about 30m away but screened by trees/bushes and with its own kitchen area, shower, seating area, fire pit etc. We may also use the cabin facilities very occasionally. If you would like to have a larger group come to stay, please check if the larger yurt is available. Exclusive use of the cabin facilities (or the whole site) is possible if you want total privacy. There would be extra costs associated with arranging this. Please see https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/18817924 and contact us for further information. Weather conditions: Please note that on the fairly infrequent occasions that the temperature drops below zero for more than a few of days the water supply to the cabin may start to freeze and we might then have to drain the system to prevent damage to pipes/fittings and the water heater. We have 'winterised' the plumbing but if the temperature seriously drops below zero for an extended period then there won't be much we can do. We will be able to supply water in containers for drinking, cooking and washing and the compost loo will still be fully functional. We are up at 400m so if there is heavy and persistent snowfall, access to the property from the village one mile away may only be possible on foot or in a 4x4 vehicle. It's all part of the adventure!!! If you need assistance with anything just ask. We are here to help and glad to do so. :-)
Ty Crwn Bach Idris nestles in a forest high up above Cynwyd in the beautiful Berwyn Mountains, North Wales, midway between Bala and Llangollen, not far off the the A5 London to Holyhead road. The property sits 400m up in the Cynwyd Forest, on the edge of the Dee Valley AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). We are right on the North Berwyn Way walking route. Whilst only a mile from the village there are no other properties nearby and the Berwyn Mountains extend to the North, East and South as you step outside. Brilliant for walking, hiking, mountain biking and just chilling with nature. Bala lake is only 12 miles away and Snowdonia and the coast less than an hour. Manchester and Liverpool are under an hour and a half away. The mountains of Snowdonia can be seen from the yurt with the Arans and Arenigs nearly on the doorstep and the Rhinogs in the distance. Walk 50m up the hill and you will see the top of Yr Wyddfa (Mt Snowdon) peaking of the hills in the distance. There's rock climbing of all types and all abilities near us in North Wales along with a good selection of indoor climbing walls. The majestic River Dee flows through Cynwyd on its way to Chester and there is plenty of fishing in the area. North Wales is world renowned for its fantastic mountain biking and the Llandegla Forest tracks are less than 25 minutes away. Coed-y-Brenin over near Betws y Coed is also close by. If water sports are you thing you are well served with heaps of sailing, kayaking and canoeing within easy reach. We know world class coaches, instructors and outdoor pursuits organisations and can put you in touch with them if you want. Surfing, kite-surfing, wind surfing, stand up paddle boarding can be found on the coast which is an easy drive away. Enjoy!!!

  • Fantastic location and great hosts. They even offered us an extra night free of charge due to storm Ciara - kitchen was spotless, yurt was clean and comfortable - had a fantastic stay

    Eamonn2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best places we've ever stayed. The area is like stepping into another world. Serene and peaceful, no light pollution so tonnes of stargazing to be had. Not far to a couple of idealic locations for excursions or hikes!

    Scott2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely surroundings. Nathan was easy going (Shayne was away, but I am sure she is also lovely!) and the yurt was a perfect little hub. We walked up the big hill with huge backpacks and I have to say the reward felt greater! Buuuuutt take up Shayne and Nathan’s offer for a lift if available. You’ll be thankful later 🙏😉

    Alicia2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing place to stay with plenty of walking routes nearby. Luckily the weather wasn't too cold for a January visit but the fire made the yurt very cosy for the evenings. Worth knowing that the kitchen is well stocked with utensils so great if you are wanting to cook from scratch. We would definitely recommend staying here if you're after a peaceful getaway!

    Matthew2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location and home. We loved that it was isolated, that walking trails started on the doorstep and that it was still within walking distance of a village. Nathan was a great host and provided excellent walking suggestions. We highly recommend staying here, and we hope to be back!

Our cottage is situated at the top of the mountain overlooking the Ceiriog Valley and Berwyn mountains. It is ideal for romantic breaks or just to relax and unwind making use of your own private hot tub after long walks in the hills. A mere four miles from Llangollen you'll find a great base to make the most of all the fantastic outdoor activities and places to visit that we have to offer in the local area and further afield in North Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire.
Guests have access to the garden and lawn area, but we encourage guests to exercise their pets OFF the premises as there are children who use this lawned area from time to time.
In terms of the neighbourhood we're surrounded by fields, so the majority of our neighbours are sheep. Other than the livestock there are two other properties further up the road and a log cabin within the grounds so you may occasionally see other guests. But that's pretty much it, so as you can imagine the neighbourhood is quiet and relaxing.
  • I can’t describe how wonderful our stay was at Pen Y Fedw cottage. The views are amazing. The place is spotless and with plenty of little extra touches you didn’t know you needed you can fully relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Sharon and Dave absolutely made our stay even more magical, the most gracious hosts, full of genuine care and knowledge. We arrived as guests and left feeling like friends. We can not wait to rebook x

  • Cosy little cottage with beautiful landscape views. This is a perfect place for a getaway and a relaxing break. The hot tub is great and Sharon and Dave look after you so well - homemade scone on arrival was delicious! There are lots of nice walks and cosy local pubs and restaurants to visit nearby. Highly recommend this place!

  • Pen-Y-Fedw Cottage. A little gem on top of a beautiful mountain. A huge thank you to Sharon and Dave for allowing us to share your wonderful country cottage. The most amazing hosts who have spoilt us with hospitality and ‘to die for’ home made Welsh cakes and scones. If you are looking for calm, tranquility and a total escape for a few days, this is the place to visit. It is also a wonderful base to return to after a day of exploring the Welsh country. The hot tub is fantastic as is the charm of this quaint cottage. We were also shown around the new quirky log cabin, which we will definitely be booking next time. There is something to suit everyone here, ranging from the hot tubs, country walks, sight seeing, nature or just good old fashioned romance. Once again a big thank you to Sharon and Dave. Regards Martine & Darren, Swinton, Manchester.

  • If you want a place that is away from the stresses of life, this is the place for you. Sharon and David are very caring hosts, paying attention to all the touches that will make your stay wonderful. Thank you for the cream tea on arrival Sharon! The Hot Tub is a must. We were there in February, the tub was beautifully clean and warm making a lovely relaxing end to a wet and windy day.

    Sue2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely 2 night stay at Sharon and Dave's cottage and it was lovely!

  • I couldn’t recommend this place more; the area was stunning with a town close by, the locals seemed very friendly and the hosts couldn’t do more for you. The cottage was completely clean and cozy with a good use of the space, and the hot tub was luxurious. Thank you Sharon and David!

  • A 'proper' log cabin in such a quiet location. The cabin itself is clean and well maintained with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The jacuzzi is an excellent addition to fix those tired muscles after a nice long walk in the Welsh country side. You will not be dissapointed.

  • We stayed in this beautiful log cabin for two wonderful nights. Our hosts, Sharon and David were super lovely and helpful. Prior to our stay, Sharon had sent really useful messages with places to visit and eat and so we didn't have to do any research before we visited. Her directions to the lodge were really clear and helpful, especially as we found that we had limited phone data available to use sat nav and also the directions avoided a really rough road. On arrival, we were welcomed warmly with delicious homemade bara brith (our first time trying this-delicious!) and cream scones. We bought some of her home made jam as it is so delicious. The cabin was fabulous, lovely and warm and modern too. The hot tub was amazing! The view from it was incredible and we watched the stars from it and even went in it in a gale force wind as it was so lovely and warm and relaxing with it's powerful jets. We visited some lovely places and felt very relaxed as we were unable to access emails, texts or phone calls as we had no signal. However, we did have a minor family emergency and Sharon and David were more than happy for us to use their house phone for this, for which we were very grateful. We really hope to be back again as we so enjoyed our stay.

  • Beautiful cabin, inside was amazing, hot water straight away in the shower, very clean and Sharon & Dave was amazing hosts. The hot tub was great and the view of fields filled with sheep was great. If your looking for a place to get away this is great, no phone signal but just down the road you can. We went to Llangollen for breakfast at The Meating Point was delicious, we went to the Bridge End pub was good but the pub side is very small, we wanted to watch the football/scores on Saturday we found a lovely little place across from the 3 eagles on Bridge street (can’t remember the name) quirky inside but everyone was lovely, nice simple pub food, overlooked the river. Everywhere was dog friendly even places that served food :)

    Sophie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is clean and cosy! The hosts are lovely and very helpful, great hosts. We had a lovely time with plenty of nearby walks with our dog! It was heaven to get away and spend a few days relaxing with no phone signal and the hot tub was a welcome bonus after a long walk! Would definitely recommend!

    Laura2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Despite storm Dennis trying to thwart us, we had an absolutely amazing stay with Sharon. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and it's obvious that alot of thought and effort has gone into creating it - it's perfect for an off the grid getaway! The hottub was an extra special treat and Sharon was especially helpful when giving us places to go and visit/eat. We throughly enjoyed our stay, thank you!

    Jessica2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy cabin in a great location especially if you’re after a peaceful weekend. Some nice local walking, we didn’t get out too much due to bad weather but still had a great weekend. No WiFi, no phone signal, perfect!

    Tom2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Well what can I say, what an outstanding place to go and stay. The cabin is so stylish and modern but has a rustic feel. The hosts were amazing with their welcome and they themselves were very engaging and warm. They respected our privacy but were also there if we wanted to chat. They helped us really well with directions and told us great places to eat. I must recommend to anyone staying here to book a table in the Mulberry inn as it has outstanding food. The hot tub was a nice touch and the cabin was always warm which was great for the mad dash from the tub to the cabin to keep warm. Even though the weather was not on our side , we didn't mind staying in the cabin all day as it was just that nice. This has been my best find on Airbnb since using the app. I cant thank sharon and dave enough. The only down side was that there was no wifi which we expected there to be, but it just meant more quality time for ourselves. Highly would recommend.

    Joanne2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Where to begin - a perfect, cosy cabin in the most stunning place with a view to die for! From the easy-to-follow directions, to the warm welcome with home-baked scones and cream tea, Sharon and David’s place is the perfect trip away. We couldn’t have been made to feel more at home and Sharon gave us wonderful tips on walks and pubs in the local area. For walkers, you can literally head out right from the front door and with Llangollen and the Horseshoe Pass on the doorstep, there’s plenty to see and do. The cabin itself is lovely, sparkling clean with flowers and home made jams available! It was the perfect size for the two of us and the dogs and the bed is so comfy! Unfortunately, Storm Ciara stopped us from being able to use the hot tub but we shall definitely be back. I highly recommend the cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful, relaxing time away to recharge. Thank you for having us, we shall be back as soon as we can!

  • A brilliant cottage to stay and visit Llangollen and the surrounding area. Spotlessly clean with great amenities and fantastic views high above the town. Martin is great host and super friendly. Highly recommended!!!

  • A great place which is highly recommended, we always look for somewhere out of the way but near a town so we can go for something to eat or a coffee without driving too far and this place was perfect. Just outside of the town in the welsh hillside is a very modern, well looked after barn conversion. When we arrived Martin was straight out to greet us and give us the key, we went in to the property where milk, tea and coffee and local beers were provided! The cottage looks new and is very well maintained with all the amenities you could need. There are plenty of places to eat and drink in the town and a few little shops to wander around. We enjoyed our few days away and will definitely be back to stay here again!

  • We had a great stay at Owl Cottage. Wonderful location with lots options for walks in the surrounding area. The cottage was cosy and we really appreciated the little extras Martin had provided. Thank you for a relaxing escape to the country!

  • Lovely cottage, had everything you needed to ensure a comfortable stay. Picturesque location.

    Georgie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely holiday cottage with everything you could possibly need throughout your stay. The cottage was lovely& warm and beds were extremely comfortable. Perfectly positioned in secluded area but with only a short driving distance into town. Great stay, thanks.

  • Very clean and cosy cottage, beautiful surroundings and great host!

    Charlotte2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was brilliant. We have used airbnb for a few tears now, but this stay was the best so far. Martin had arranged all the thoughtful extras that are not always available at others: dishwasher tablets, milk, tea, coffee, staple ingredients in kitchen cupboards. Martin was brilliant when keeping in touch and was flexible with our check-out time. He even came to let us know the safest and best route back to the main road due to the frost. Many thanks. I’m sure we’ll be back!

  • We had a great stay at the carpenter's cabin over New year. The cabin is in a good location for walks and there are a couple of shops nearby so it's not too remote. The grounds are very peaceful and we enjoyed using the hot tub on the night time. This is a real plus. We had a couple of minor issues with the oven and shower but Mel and mick were quick to show us what to do so this was resolved on the same day. They are friendly hosts and the cabin is finished to a high, clean standard. Thanks for an enjoyable stay xx

  • This is a wonderful place so quiet and in a stunning location. The views are beautiful and the accommodation is brilliant. The cabin is spotless and spacious with all the facilities you need. It felt like ever detail had be thought about. Such a wonderful place we'd highly recommend it to anyone. The location is rural but with lots of things to do and places to visit close by, some within walking distance. Lots of wonderful local restaurants to visit but the cabin kitchen also has everything you'd need to cook for yourselves. We will definitely look at coming back.

Stunning location above the village of Llangynog, overlooking the "gateway" to the Berwyn Mountians. The cabin at Penybryn is situated in the garden next to our cottage. It has all mod cons, and comfortably sleeps 2 people. It is the perfect peaceful spot to ,read, write or paint, or to go walking or cycling. After a busy day exploring you can watch the sun go down over the "Gribbin" with a drink, and enjoy a comfortable nights sleep. In the morning you can have breakfast in bed with views!
The cabin has beautiful views over the valley. The bed is really comfy and there is the option of using the sofa bed for more than two guests. The kitchen and dining area has everything you need to make yourself simple meals, or you can walk down to the local pubs for dinner. Tea, Coffee, Milk and Sugar is provided for you. The cabin is self contained and has it's own WC and electric shower. There is also a TV and HiFi system, (some CD's are in the cabin, but there is also a blue tooth receiver that works with phones etc). Our new Studio Cabin is built and ready to use should you wish to get creative while you are with us. It can be rented for an additional fee while you are with us to use yourself, or Stella can run workshops in Pastels, Watercolour, Pen and Ink or Acrylics. Stella is a qualified Aromatherapist and can offer treatments while you visit, which can done in the cabin for an additional fee. These include Full Body Massages, Thai Foot Massage and Indian Head Massage. Penybryn is the highest dwelling on Craig Rhiwarth and the cabin gives you the Alpine experience without having to leave the UK!
The Tanat Valley has beautiful scenery. It is just 2 hours away from Birmingham or Liverpool areas. We are close to Lake Vrynwy, Pistyll Rhaeadr is nearby, you can walk to it over the mountain. The coast area of Barmouth is about 90 minutes away. Snowdon is about 90 minutes away as well. There are two lovely pubs in the village which offer food and entertainment, and other pubs and restaurants just a short drive away. The village also has a famous Bike park and Motorcross experience. We are located at the "gateway to the Berwyns" and there are lots of scenic walks to be had around the valley.
  • Fantastic location and cabin. A little gem in the heart of Wales. Stella helped us settle in very quickly and provided us some great information on the local area.

    Mark2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place & in a lovely little spot. Perfect getaway with lots to do / see. The cabin is warm enough & has everything you could require for a couple of nights stay! Just what we were looking for.

  • Had a fantastic weekend break away, the place has was amazing and easy to find. The place was spotless and had all your necessity’s for a great stay. Would love too go back again in the summer too take advantage of the breath taking views. Stella was a fantastic host with great communication. Great local pubs for either food or drinks.

    Laura2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic and idyllic location. The cabin was beautiful with gorgeous views of the surrounding valleys. Practically, it had everything you need for stay. Lots of help and advice available from Stella and David regarding the local area, maps also in the cabin for the rambling experts. Not a bad little pub (New Inn) in the village that has reasonable priced pub food and good beer and wine. Close to Lake Vyrnwy and Rhiwargor Waterfall which were our main attraction to the area. However, plenty more to see and do nearby. Will definitely stay here again in the summer.

    Damen2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Just returned from an amazing stay in Stella’s Cabin...... there is nothing but positive things to say about this place. Stella was really easy to communicate with and quick to reply, the directions were spot on and we found the property in the dark and heavy showers. Once in the cabin you have everything you need and more, it’s no cold as there are heaters and radiators, the cabin was spotlessly clean with a great information guide left for guests, the views from the cabin are stunning, there’s plenty to do locally all about a 20 minute drive, we drove to Snowdonia which was a 1 1/2 drive through stunning scenery. We did two nights here and wish we could have stayed longer, I’ll definitely be going back as the area has so much to offer for those who like the outdoors.

    Odine2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is clean, all of the amenities work well and the bed was very comfortable. My mum had a couple nights of the best sleep she's had in some time. The hosts are kind and knowledgeable. They gave us some fantastic places to visit. Check out Lake Vyrnwy and Pistyll Rhaeadr. The place is beautiful.

  • Our stay in Stella's cabin was just perfect ! Communication before our stay was great and also whilst we were there. Checking in was super easy and the directions Stella gave us were also super easy to follow. The cabin was beautiful and sparkling clean. There was everything in there we needed and more. The bed was very comfortable and even with the weather starting to get cold the cabin was very cozy and warm. There was a booklet in the cabin with directions for great walks, local shops and pubs and instructions on how to use everything in the cabin. The surroundings and the local village were beautiful ! The local pub The New Inn was great for food and drinks. Stella was a very attentive host, it was a pleasure to meet her. All in all its perfect for a quiet getaway. We would definitely recommend and will definitely return. Thank you so much. Michelle and Steven x

    Francesca2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beth's cottage is very comfortable, spacious, clean and quiet. It was a real pleasure spending time here and exploring the area around Lake Vyrnwy. The house is very big and will comfortably fit 6 people but I had the luxury of having it all to myself! Finding the cottage was a little difficult in the dark as the satnav took me down the wrong lane. Driving from the direction of Lake Vyrnway along B4393, the turn to the cottage is on the left marked by a sign with a sheep on a post saying B&B. The cottage is right at the end of the lane attached to the main farmhouse. If staying there for a few days, come equipped with food supplies. There are shops nearby but if you like to have very specific items, there is not a huge range in the nearby shops.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with deep regret and sadness we have had to take the decision today 17 March to take no further bookings to protect our own health and to do our bit to limit the spread of the disease until there are changes to the situation. We will review this decision at the end of May and post any changes. We thank all of our guests for their understanding and wish them all well in these challenging times.
The property has a large car park and shared sitting areas including an orchard with lovely waterfall and pond. Inside the cottage, the cosy living area with wood-burning stove is open-plan with kitchen and dining areas and access to a large decked veranda and enclosed private garden overlooking the beautiful Tanat valley. The private rear outside space includes an exclusive Hot-Tub (freshly-filled for you and heated throughout your stay at a small extra cost of £40-£60 depending upon the length of your stay payable on arrival) gas BBQ, wood-burning fire-pit, alfresco dining area and comfortable seating for relaxing and enjoying our fabulous views. Also on the ground floor of the cottage is the double bedroom and modern shower room with stairs leading to the mezzanine bedroom with twin beds and a feature barn-slot window as well as velux windows to admire the view over the Berwyns.
Bellevue is set in a rural area approx 1.5 miles from Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant with its pretty shops and local pubs. Famous Pistyll Rhaeadr is close by and a lovely scenic drive of 14 miles to Bala with its water sports. 5 miles away is Llangynog with Revolution bike park for downhill biking enthusiasts.
  • Very cosy and well appointed. Amazing views over the valley from the hot tub and close to outstanding countryside. Nice log burner with wood supplied for a small additional cost. Would highly recommend a stay here.

  • We absolutely loved the house and Janet was an exceptional host. The view is amazing, the hot tub is so comfortable and the location close to the shops. The local village is cute and people were very friendly. The butcher there offers the best tasting meat. We highly recommend!

  • Wow Wow Wow! Jan & Rich are the best, the girlfriend and I were looking for a romantic stay away for her birthday/valentines and we found it. With views to die for and a hot tub to shake the crispy cold winds was phenomenal. A birthday weekend away well spent at Belle Vue. If you don’t mind a bit of a splash we’d recommend the waterfall just a few mile down the road. A stunning waterfall named as one of the 7 wonders of Wales was a fantastic opportunity to get out and see the local area (not too bad place either for the instagram lovers. Photos were amazing). We just really want to say thank you once again to Jan & Rich we had the weekend of our dreams and we can’t wait to book back in again. Jack & Abi

  • As soon as we arrived at Bellvue Cottage, we were warmly welcomed by Jan and Rich. They gave us a quick tour of the cottage and have thought of the smallest details to make the stay perfect. The hot tub is amazing for the location you are in, looking out over the Welsh hills, and the log burner also gives the cottage a nice, cosy feeling (wood and fire starters are also provided for by the hosts). Would highly recommend this stay if you want a nice few days away from the hustle and bustle and want a relaxing break away!

Overlooking fields with Welsh mountain sheep quietly grazing in front of the Berwyn mountains, cozy cabin offers sanctuary & rest in a countryside location. Well behaved pets welcome. Small kitchen/eating area joins living room, shower room, double bedroom, parking space.
Warm log cabin with double room, kitchen/eating area, large shower room, TV, outside covered veranda with seating and table. Parking space. Lovely hill walking location with rarely trod paths. Please note this is a farming area so sheep, cows and horses and dogs all live and work within the area. Owls also hoot at night in the woods. It is dark here in winter as there are no streetlights - advantage if you are star gazing, but you will need a torch if you are going for a walk
Beautiful walking, riding, cycling country. Set in the rarely walked Berwyn mountains. The longest waterfall in Wales. Close to snowdonia national park. Both beautiful lakes Vyrnwy and Bala are a close drive with walking, water sports and good cafés and restaurants. Close to Chester and Shrewsbury with lovely old buildings, theatre, races and shopping. Nearest town is the quaint border town of Oswestry with Iron Age fort, some fantastic eateries and independent shops. Wonderful bridle ways locally and many tracks suitable for mountain biking as well as walkers and riders.

  • Such a lovely cosy cabin and completely private. Very quiet, peaceful area and nice extra touches. Visit to local waterfall well worth it. Was raining our whole stay and high winds due to storm Dennis but was nice and warm inside and still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Was an added bonus that there is a secure outside patio area where you can let the dogs out without having to worry about putting them on a lead. Thanks again will definately recommend to family and friends.

  • Cosy Christmas Cabin in the Clouds We had a very enjoyable stay in the cabin for 5 nights over Christmas. It was cosy (heaters and extra blankets, although not needed as the cabin keeps the heat in), very clean, with everything we needed to cook, relax in the living space, with a comfy bed and the large, hot shower was great too. Local maps and tourist leaflets helped us plan our days exploring due to the lack of WiFi, and we enjoyed the freedom of being cut off. We arrived late on Christmas Eve, directions and check-in all straightforward. Gwennan had decorated the cabin and left us some homemade mince pies as a warm welcome. They also dropped by to make sure we had everything we needed during the stay which was appreciated. Local highlights were the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall and walking to the top across to the ridge above the lake, stunning views, we also had a good walk around Lake Vyrnwy in the mist on the opposite bank to the tower. We ate at The Hand at Llanarmon and highly recommended, roaring fires, quality food and the owners were very friendly. Our only watch outs were - flip the hot water switch, we missed it arriving late on the first night, and beware of stubbing toes on the door frame to the bedroom, we both learnt fast! Great location and one of our best air bnb stays, we’d love to come back in the summer for longer days to explore the area more.

    Debs2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay here. Really cosy and warm cabin for December, in a beautiful location. Gwennan was a great host, with really easy communication and check in.

The annex is a newly converted self-contained, fully equipped living space with kitchen, bedroom and en-suite, and with the added comfort of underfloor heating. It has it’s own private front entrance and off-road parking along side the annex. We have fantastic views of the Berwyn mountains and countryside. We are within walking distance of the village pub and shop and close to Pistyll Rhaedr - the tallest waterfall in England & Wales, and Lake Vyrnwy Reservoir and RSPB reserve.
We are located at the end of a peaceful, charming village and we have beautiful views of the Berwyn Mountains and surrounding countryside. In the summer there is a patio and BBQ to the rear of the annex over looking the views. The annex is attached to the main house but is a separate private living space including en-suite and kitchen with breakfast bar, fridge freezer, oven, electric hobs, toaster and kettle and anything else you might need. It’s compact and comfortable - A great place to base yourselves while exploring North or Mid-Wales. There are walks directly from the property and, for the more experienced, rock climbing close by and just down the road is Revolution Bike Park which is perfect for the more seasoned Mountain Bikers. The area is popular with walkers, and Snowdonia National Park is just a short drive away.
We are located at the edge of a charming welsh village, which has it's own pub, post office and shop where you can buy most of your essentials. We’re not far from Snowdonia National Park and Bala which is great for watersports - windsurfing to stand up paddle boarding. There is plenty of quiet and beautiful local walks within the Berwyns and in the Tanat valley. You won’t be stuck for things to do!

  • 5* Cosy, beautifully laid out, fantastic view, friendly hosts.

  • The Shepard’s hut was brilliant and had everything we needed for our weekend away. It was cosy and clean and was located in a lovely area with the pub only a 10 mins walk away! The instructions on how to get there were really easy to follow and we had no problems with finding it. We also went to pistyll rhaeadr waterfall which was super close and we would recommend it as it was beautiful!

    Rachel2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in Natalie and Ric's hut! They were fantastic hosts and were so accommodating for our dog Poppy! The area was stunning and we thoroughly enjoyed our walk around Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall. We would recommend their place to all our friends.

  • Natalie and Ric were such lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome whilst also leaving us to it. The cabin is amazing, very clean and has everything you need with some lovely extra touches. The views were incredible and we had the best time, highly recommend!

    Liv2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful stay with thoughtful hosts. Stunning views, thoughtful space with everything you need for a break away! It rained for us & Natalie advised boots which were needed, but the hut was unique and quirky, sparkling clean, and the welcome as warm as the hosts! Definite recommend and would advise anyone to book soon!

Old Cruck Frame house with eco converted barn. During the coronavirus we ensure the place is wiped with surgical spirt prior to your arrival, we will leave the key for you and keep a distance to ensure none transmission of the virus. Wonderful view of the Tanat Valley from the glassed first-floor studio. This is the end part of an old farmhouse. Powered by the sun and an eco pellet burner.
Beautiful oak timber frame with solid oak flooring, built by local artisans. Features include steam-bent ash, oak and elm spiral staircase, Elm kitchen worktops. Lay in bed admiring the beautiful Tanat valley bellow, this is one of the best views in the area. We have central heating but the upstairs is glass so you will need to light a wood fire in winter. You are welcome to bring your own wood but we can supply you at £5 a bag.
Penylan is secluded and quiet however it is only a five-minute walk to the village, follow the footpath across the fields. Pystyll Rhaedr, the highest waterfall in Wales and one of its seven wonders is just 4 miles up the valley. Lake Vyrnwy is a short drive, and yet we are close to main routes to Merseyside and the Midlands. Llanrhaeadr has two Pubs, a chippy, Indian Restaurant and late opening shops, Dragons craft shop and a new vintage furniture shop. There are many good places to eat in the area. We are 5 miles from Revolution Bike Park, 30 miles from Arthurs Labyrinth and Bounce. also on the slopes of The Berwyn Mountains.

  • Cute and cosy property. We really enjoyed our stay. Great rural location with amazing views. Walking distance to the village which has two pubs ( only one serves food) , an Indian take away, a Spar and a fantastic butchers. Lake Vernwy and Pistyll Rhaeadr both less then half an hours drive away. Both well worth visit

  • We absolutely loved our stay, this place is full of character I would recommend it to anyone.

    Rita2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely gorgeous cottage, perfect for couples and large groups. We'd 100% come and stay again in the summer

    William2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • A terrific little getaway with beautiful views, not far from the village and the impressive Pystill Falls (highest in Wales). The cottage is spacious and quirkily designed- a very relaxing stay.

    Peter2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Even with relentless October rain we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. That view! Peace and quiet with the odd pheasant for company. Remote location without actually being that remote! Short walk to the village for pub, excellent indian takeaway, few minutes drive from the best waterfall I have ever seen. Plenty of pillows and blankets and cooking pots and plates etc. Wood burner to get cosy. You can find the village by sat nav and then find the house with the directions provided. If you want a bit of rural down time in a place that feels homely, I don’t think you’ll get much better.

The cottage is in the little village of Llangynog near Snowdonia. It’s easy to reach from England and offers great access to the mountains and countryside of north Wales with an easy and scenic drive to Snowdon. The village has two pubs, both just a minute away from the cottage. There are great walks and cycling around Llangynog which is also well known as being the home of Revolution Bike Park. Revs is only minutes away from the cottage by bike and you can see the park from the cottage.
There is a king size bed in the upstairs bedroom and a large bathroom with bath, shower and washing machine. In the living room there is a sofa bed that converts easily into a king size double bed. A downstairs toilet means those sleeping downstairs have easy access to facilities at night time. The fridge in the kitchen is quite small and there is no freezer so please take care with what shopping you bring. There is a Smart TV (but no Sky TV) and a range of books and DVDs available. Secure mountain bike storage can be available on request.
The area is sometimes referred to as the Welsh lake district as there are several lakes as you make your way into Wales. For mountain bikers, in addition to Revs, Antur Stiniog and Coed y Brenin are both in easy reach by car.
  • Extremely comfortable

    Lisa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning location and the cottage was spot on. Very clean and welcoming. I will definitely be returning soon

    Jonny2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Everything you need is supplied in the cottage. We loved the log burner in the evenings and the very well equipped kitchen. You can go walking straight out of the front door without having to drive and have a welcome drink on return in the pub directly across the road.

  • A well-furnished, spotlessly clean, very comfortable cottage in a great location. Cold when we arrived but the wood-burning stove and heaters soon warmed it and it was lovely and cosy. We'd come again.

  • lovely little cottage, well presented and equipped with everything you need for your stay, lovely little touches too. plenty of books and DVDs if you want to stay in, large screen TV, WiFi was not the best but perfectly adequate for what we needed. We were informed before we went that there was no freezer but the small fridge has a tiny little freezer compartment which is ok for doing a few ice cubes etc. Very helpful "house Manual" supplied and accurate and helpful instructions. We enjoyed our short stay and would be happy to come back in the summer for a longer stay.

Magical mountain retreat for two (& small child if needed) not far from the beautiful Lake Vyrnwy. Enjoy the breathtaking mountain view, 15 miles to the Berwyn mountain range & lovely fresh air. Great place to relax, unwind, eat & drink or explore a myriad of bike trails, walks, waterfalls, lakes & outward bound activities on the doorstep. Sleeps 2. Elvish is spoken here… The Treehouse is tucked away at the top of the garden, a quirky little hideaway for a couple. It has its own parking space a few yards away. Inside, on the left, is a coat rail, then up 3 steps you find yourself in the bedroom, with double bed and wardrobe behind the curtain – this however also has a mattress so the space can be used for a child’s bed (just 4ft long). it is NOT suitable for a crawling baby or inquisitive toddler. There is also an extra hanger for long clothes – generally used for evening/wedding wear, plus under-bed storage. The Treehouse is heated very well by a Dimplex radiator, and in the wet room, an infrared wall heater. There is also a stone hot water bottle if one wishes to revisit the past. The tiny kitchen has a 2-gas hob, microwave, Dualit small oven, fridge, single sink and draining board, and cupboards below with appropriate cookware and crockery. Drawer above for cutlery, and hanging rack containing batterie de cuisine – scissors, tongs, whisk, spatula etc. etc. The dining area has a table for 2, whilst down 2 steps is the wet room, with shower, washbasin and toilet. The back door opens out to a little patio, known as the “rust garden” with its collection of sculptures created from the agricultural throw-outs lovingly collected or dug up from the surrounding fields, reminders of when Foel Ortho was a working farm. A garden table and 2 folding chairs get the afternoon sunshine, or one can sit on the bench in the covered area and admire the pouring rain!
You can do all these activities locally: Walk, Mountain Bike, Road Bike, Climb, Sail, Open water swim, Orienteering, Fish, Horse Ride, Ride On Steam Trains, Canoe, Row, Bird Watch, White Water Raft, Surf, High Wire Adventure, Zip Line, Raft Build, Gorge Walk, Kayak, Abseil, Clay Pigeon Shoot, Archery, Golf, Health Spa, Game Shooting, Race Hovercrafts, Race 4 x 4, Quad Bike, Go Karting, Roller Coaster, Shop. After a day of adventures there are some great pubs and restaurants in the local area to recharge. Search Farmhouseinwales for all details.
  • If your like you privacy and a break from the huddle and bustle look no further! Unique setting in the middle of the valley, I mean a Tree House... where can you find that sort of accommodation anywhere ?! Wonderfully warm and cosey inside had great night’s sleep and a fantastic stay all together. Kind regards E & S

    Eno2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was a fantastic place for a weekend getaway, and the suprise snow halfway through our stay made it feel magical. The bed was very comfortable and the space was just big enough for two people to comfortably 'live' In. The only 2 things I would like to mention, is that the bathroom was extremely cold. The shower temperature was lovely, but outside of that, it was very chilly any time you went in there (fluffy socks advised!). The second is that we were told there was WiFi there, but that it may run out with excessive use. When we arrived, it seemed that whoever had stayed before us had already used up all of the internet, and although this wasn't a big issue for us as we weren't planning on using the WiFi, it meant that we couldn't contact the hosts (or anyone) in an emergency, as there was also no 4G or phone service. Other than that, we had a lovely time and really recommend the treehouse If you're looking for a cosy break from a busy life.

  • The perfect little hideaway for a weekend in Wales. Had everything we needed, and was a warm and cosy place to hide from Storm Dennis! Would recommend to everyone and will definitely return in the future.

  • I loved staying at Jenny and Eddie's Treehouse, they are the loveliest couple and seriously hospitable and wonderful people. The space is a fantastic, fantastical achievement and a wonderful creative wonderland. The Treehouse suited me perfectly, but it was a little cold. It is rustic, which I loved, but may not suit those wanting pristine or modern comforts. It is otherwordly and very clever, the way the space is used is genius. It had everything I needed including a very comfy bed and wondrous view! The magic is REAL! Thank you.

Run on permaculture principles, Tanyfron Housing Co-operative is home to two families and is situated on a wooded site overlooking the Vyrnwy Valley. We are offering a double room, with a view across the valley
Very important - Please Read! There is absolutely no smoking allowed on-site at Tan y fron, no perfumes, deoderants, aerosols, as we have two residents who have chronic chest conditions. Our accommodation is extremely basic. There is no shower available at the moment as that part of the house is being renovated, and the toilet, whilst inside, is a very basic compost toilet. There is no running water available, but there is a basin for washing and we can provide hot water in a jug for you and cold water so you can clean your teeth. We also provide towels and bed linen. Sorry, but we do not provide any meals. If you are interested in permaculture and living lightly on the land, please consider coming to stay. If you just want somewhere to rest for the night, then this is also the place for you. There are areas of the property where guests, for their own safety, will not be allowed to access. We welcome dogs by arrangement.
We are based in the Vyrnwy river valley - a beautiful part of Powys popular with walkers, cyclists and visitors from all over the world. We are twenty minutes away from the famous Pistyll Rheaedre waterfall, the highest fall in Wales nestled in the mystical Berwyn mountains; the canal and steam railway at Welshpool is fifteen minutes away and Lake Vyrnwy is around thirty minutes.
  • Really lovely setting and the hosts were so incredibly welcoming and friendly. The place was also really good value, no shower at the moment and a composting loo (it didn't smell at all) but it had everything else you'd expect from any other Airbnb. We'd definitely stay again if we're in the area.

  • Great room, great bed, amazing bunch of guys that run the place, amazing location for walks, sightseeing, (I went to lake Vrnwy for the day) pub 2 miles up the road. Would highly recommend this place for getting your head down after a long day. Although read the description in the advert as this lovely place will not be for everyone. Will definitely be going back for a short break again.

  • Great property. I was lucky enough to be the only guest during my stay so I had sole access to the shared lounge. Breakfast was amazing Bed was amazing Shower room was great. Only thing I found is I was taller than the shower. But that is my fault for being so tall. Location amazing Host amazing (& Beth’s daughter was very helpful when I arrived on the first night) Value for money more than amazing Given the chance I would stay again. I highly recommend the place to anyone looking for a short break and wanting to explore north wales. I used my holiday to climb Snowdon and so was very greatful for a warm comfy bed and not a sleeping bag in a field. 10/10

  • The room and en suite were very comfortable, and Bethan provided a number of items in a small fridge ( milk, wine and beer) which were very welcome on arrival. I couldn't find the property on Google maps but the photo of the sign on the main road was useful in locating the property. Some more precise directions to visitors would help. The Glade is a basic camping pod with double bed, sofa, fire pit and veranda in woodland high above the town of Llangollen with stunning views down the valley and across to the Castle. A quiet space to sit, watch nature and rest your legs at the end of the day. If drinking and loud music is your thing this may not be the place for you. The Hut is a steep 50m walk away from your car, so don't pack too much, you need to bring your own duvet/sleeping bags , we provide a bottom sheet and pillows.
The walk to the Glade is only to be undertaken by the hardiest of souls, it is STEEP, but once there, the solitude and views make up for it in every sense, the toilet block is a very strenuous 100 m away, so don't forget your tooth brush. You'll need a torch, good shoes and a camera It's quite likely you'll be joined by our Buzzards who regularly circle feet away from the Glade and if you sit still the rabbits and pheasants will undoubtedly come to join you. The Glade is shaded from the sun in the morning and insulated so you'll get to lie in without getting too warm or too cold. There is a fire pit, with an infinite supply of kindly. There are a number of piles of dead wood to use in the woodland, but we advise you buy a bag of logs from the hardware store in town, as you never quite know what the weather will be like in Wales and the wood may be wet! We have a toilet/shower block about 100 m away down the hill , with the centre of town only being a 7 min walk. If you don't have a vehicle and CAN'T bring your own duvet, let us know well in advance and we'll provide one for you.

  • A lovely night away. I thought the hill was going to be a lot worse than what it was! The hut is very clean and it was perfect just to getaway for a while and sit in front of the camp fire. Aldi is just down the bottom of the hill which is brilliant for convenience! We ordered a pizza, collected it and ate it by the fire. We arrived on the motorbike and the parking was very easy. Thank you to the hosts!

  • The Glade was what it said on the tin really. A clean little hut with a beautiful view. We were unfortunate that we had awful weather so didn’t get to explore as much as we would’ve liked (obviously couldn’t have been helped) but the small walk we did go on was lovely. Be aware that when it’s raining it steep slopes to get to the hut is extremely slippery and you will have to go down and up these slopes to go to the toilet/shower block.

    Charlotte2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We stopped off here on the way to a sponsored hike of Snowdon. Great for purpose and amenities were sufficient and well thought out. The icing on the cake was Janet was very accommodating of our request of allowing 3 dogs and there was no breed specific prejudice which was an absolute blessing. Would definitely recommend and would stay again!

    Rochelle2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Glade is the perfect place for a quick escape from reality. The hut was comfortable, clean and easy to find. Would definitely return!

    Emily2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had an enjoyable and hassle free stay at the Glade. Communication with Janet was always quick and easy, and the location was great for our overnight stop on the from London to Anglesey. The Glade was clean and comfortable on arrival, and cosy overnight. Views were great across the valley, even in the overcast weather. We enjoyed the rope up the hill as we didn’t have much luggage - the steep access was no issue, the toilet and shower were clean and walking distance from the main cabin. Llangollen was great to explore and we ate at the Corn Mill overlooking the river and falls on Janet’s recommendation - fantastic meal. We’d definitely stop over again on a trip to wales.

The location is so beautiful and theres lots to do, the only problem is that we didn’t want to leave the barn because we were so comfortable! We’ll definitely be returning. Thank you Toni! ☺️

  • What a privilege to be writing the first Airbnb review. Toni’s place is the perfect retreat. A huge bedroom, with a huge bath and a very cosy living room with log burner. The surrounding area is a delight, very quiet and with some very friendly locals. Powis castle (about 20 mins away) is very impressive too. If you’re thinking about booking, go for it! You will be hosted impeccably by Toni and you will have a wonderful, relaxing break.

I have stayed here for work and have enjoyed the comfortable, clean room and food that has been provided as well as the company. I'm especially grateful for their help in drying out my wet work kit after a very rainy day. I'd thoroughly recommend staying here for holiday making or for work. Thanks!

My place is close to: Excellent local shops and pubs Wales' highest waterfall Pistyll Rhaeadr Lake Vyrnwy Berwyn Mountains Beautiful countryside Walks Mountain biking Stately homes Steam railways You’ll love my place because of the village atmosphere, beautiful scenery, excellent local shops and pubs within walking distance. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
The house was built in 1834 as a farm workers cottage and is Grade 2 listed. it is built of Welsh stone with a Welsh slate roof. It is a small, cosy cottage in the heart of the village. There is ample parking in the car park opposite. Whilst the cottage is small it is fully equipped with a microwave, full oven, fridge with ice box, 4 electric rings, TV, DVD and Blu Ray player,iPod dock, iron and hairdryer. Heating is by woodburning stove and electric panel heating. Please note that due to the location TV and mobile reception is poor. Our raised patio garden has a seating area with views over the rooftops to the hills. It is accessed by some steep steps and has unfenced drops.
Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant is a beautiful village in the Welsh countryside. It is a vibrant community with local shops (grocery, newsagent and butcher), pubs, hair and beauty salon. The highest waterfall in Wales, Pistyll Rhaeadr, is about 4 miles outside the village and has a car park (paid) and cafe at the bottom. There are walks from the top of the waterfall and the views are amazing. There are lovely walks and mountain biking opportunities all around the area. Horseriding and quad bike tours are also available in the area. We are also within an hour of a couple of National Trust properties. For larger shops (Sainsbury's, M&S food, Boots etc) Oswestry is about 20 minutes drive away.
  • Amazing cottage smack bang in the middle of a lovely Welsh village Everything you need is within a stones throw from the cottage - 2 pubs, an Indian takeaway, a butchers, a bakers and a spar are all within 200m of the cottage Rhaeadr Pistyll - Wales’s tallest waterfall is about a 5 mile drive away and is well worth a visit

  • Had an amazing time at Julie's cottage. Cosy and warm. Lovely to hear the locals speak Welsh! They made our stay very welcome. Managed to spot some wildlife too like badgers, hedgehogs, welsh mountain goats and pheasants.

  • Mandy and her husband Derek ares such incredible hosts. When I arrived, she had tea with a selection of her own homemade cakes ready. The house was warm throughout (not all AirBnB's I stayed at were), and Mandy urged me to use the lounge we call it the living room in the US) to watch TV or to hang out. They answered so many of my questions about England, about the area, etc. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom/shower amenities perfect. This is located in a very quiet neighborhood. However, there are lots of walking trails nearby that Mandy can recommend. I had a perfect experience there!

Barn converted in 2019! A cosy home with underfloor heating, woodburner, fully equipped kitchenette, private parking. 200m from steam train station, with a pub and canal just across the river. 1 mile from the centre of Llangollen which has many restaurants and activities.
Downstairs there is a hallway, living room with kitchenette, and a separate bathroom with shower. There is underfloor heating throughout the downstairs, a woodburner, and HD TV (currently no live TV but Netflix and other on-demand services available). Stairs lead up to the bedroom with king sized bed. Dog friendly. The barn has its own private driveway. The kitchenette has an oven/microwave, and fridge with freezer compartment. There is an outdoor plug which can be used to charge an electric car for a small additional charge (or type 1 7kW charger available at our house). We've listed it as not suitable for children due to the open staircase and fire, but please get in touch if you could like to bring a child. Early check-in or late check-out is usually fine if we don't have an immediate booking, please get in touch first to check.
We love being just a mile out out of Llangollen meaning we have easy access to town but it's a lot less busy. The Chainbridge pub is a 5 minute walk away and you'll hear the steam train chugging past! The barn is on a quiet lane, but does look over the A5 so you may get some road noise, especially if you have the windows open. Our post code is LL20 8AL.
  • Lovely stay at hen pandy barn last weekend! Place was very tidy upon arrival and a lot of information provided to help with stay. Underfloor heating was nice touch and helped to keep the place cosy alongside the fire. Easy to get in and out of town using bumble taxis. Will be back again soon.

The toiletries provided were a nice touch, and the kitchen was very well equipped. 10/10 would definitely recommend. 1hr from Bala lake, 1+hr from Snowdonia and a short walk from Llangollen and a local Aldi store.

A light and airy double room with kitchenette and en-suite shower room. Kitchenette comprises of fridge, sink, microwave and toaster perfect for "tea and toast". Ground floor, private entrance and on site parking. No pets in room however there is an option to bring own horse as stables are available. Good riding routes in surrounding area. Beautiful countryside views and excellent location for multiple tourist attractions such as Llyn Tegid, Snowdonia National Park, Surf snowdonia,Zipworld etc.s
A cosy, country hideaway set in the peaceful North Wales countryside. Set in the grounds of a Welsh pony stud where the ponies can be seen grazing in the fields and in the summer months new born foals are always a special sight especially when they play in the evening sunshine.
Located between towns Bala and Corwen, we are situated in the quiet and peaceful hamlet of Bethel surrounded by green fields and mountains in the distance

  • Nice location and friendly hosts :) unfortunately our stay was very short so we didn't get to explore the local area! Would stay again!

  • I was on a canoeing course based around Bala - the place was ideal for my needs, with a microwave, fridge and toaster, so I could generate essentials on food. Excellent value for money, and for a couple would have been even better value.

  • Got fast reply and a warm, friendly welcome to the flat. Next door if needed anything. When to got there heaters wear on and a heated blanket. Mentioned to Jess that it was our 3 year anniversary and they got us a card, chocolate and flowers which was such a nice touch. Went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Can’t wait to come back in the summer! Highly recommend stay

  • Lovely little place not too far from the main attractions. We really did feel at home at your place. So cosy and pleasant, seeing all the ponies in the morning was great too! Any questions we had were very quickly responded to! Thanks again :)
