Enchanting Bach Cottage with Views of the Brecon Beacons

One of a pair of pretty pink adjoined cottages converted from the stables of itsbeautiful parent manor house, there is an abundance of views, birdsong and country living style from the moment you arrive. Step through the old stable door to open-plan living, set a match to the wood burning stove and relax as it blasts out the heat throughout chillier months. Enjoy lazy breakfasts on the terrace when the sun shines. The kitchen is the pride of the cottage, and super well equipped, along with fresh local eggs and organic apple juice from my orchard to enjoy with your Bara Brith on arrival. Sumptuous linens, pretty curtains and outstanding bedroom window views await upstairs, with bathroom under the eaves and Korres toiletries setting the tone for relaxation. Pick your perfect picnic spot up on the grassy bank, (there’s a helpful rug in the cottage), or spend a night stargazing on the terrace, taking advantage of the International Dark Sky Reserve. Whatever the time of day, the views are pretty special. SLEEPS 2 : One king-size master bedroom with dressing table, ample storage, beautiful bedding and towels provided. RELAXING : Open plan living space with large sofa, armchair, log burning stove, first basket of logs included, TV, DVD, Wi-Fi, local books and maps. COOKING & DINING : Open plan kitchen area with granite worktops, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, electric oven and hob, essential cafetierre & teapot! Farmhouse dining table for two. KEEPING CLEAN: Bathroom with over-bath shower, basin and loo. Towels and Korres toiletries on arrival. OUTSIDE: The cottage is one of an adjoined pair of pretty cottages situated to the side of the main house. There is an enclosed, sunny shared terrace and a large grassy picnic area with additional seating and far reaching views across the imposing Brecon Beacons. Parking for two cars. TECHY STUFF : Wi-Fi, TV, DVD. Good mobile signal on most networks. PETS : Really sorry, no pets allowed. On Thursdays, the neighbouring manor house opens its gardens to cottage guests. I live in the neighbouring manor house so I am available if guests need me. Otherwise guests are welcome to enjoy their own privacy. I am also always contactable by text, email, or phone. Not quite 24 hours as I need some time to sleep, but I’ll try! One of a pair of cottages with exquisite views. Walk straight into the Brecon Beacons mountains for hikes or mountain biking. The local village Talybont-on-Usk has great pubs. The foodie haven Abergavenny and bookish Hay-on-Wye are both nearby. We are 5 minutes drive from the nearest village or 30 minutes walk, so you will need a car. There is parking for 2 cars for the cottage. WALK & CYCLE: Something for every level of fitness: miles of gentle strolls and cycle rides along the Brecon & Monmouth Canal, or hours of arduous (yet rewarding) uphill hauls within the Brecon Beacon mountain range. Talybont Reservoir is within very easy reach with lovely trails to explore. TOWNS & VILLAGES: Very well located between our favourite four Welsh towns of Hay on Wye, Brecon, Crickhowell and Abergavenny. The cottage is a top spot for exploring independent stores and Welsh heritage. You can also be in the capital, Cardiff, within 40 minutes. WINE & DINE: Whether it's a country pub, or the finest of Michelin starred fayre, there is something for all tastes. One of Wales best pubs, The Felin Fach Griffin is within 10 minutes drive, a favourite of the host. LOCAL FAYRE: With the Welsh Venison Centre just a five minute drive away in the car, a great new deli in Brecon, as well as the delicious local Llanfaes Dairy for ice cream puds there are great ingredients in abundance.....making cooking on holiday more of a pleasure than ever! SNOOZE IN A SPA: Peterstone Court is a grand old country hotel a few short miles away, with relaxing spa and treatment rooms, as well as a swimming pool available to spa guests. ON THE RIVER: The Rivers Usk & Wye are both nearby for fishing. Day permits for the Usk are available in Crickhowell and canoes for the River Wye can be rented in Glasbury, conveniently located by a delicious cafe.
