Places to stay in Llangwnnadl
Our holiday cottage enjoys a very peaceful and tranquil setting down a long private driveway in a very quiet country village close to the sea. There is a private enclosed garden with the added benefit of barbeque and seating to enjoy the great outdoors. We are a short walk from sandy beaches and the Welsh Costal Path. Perfect if you enjoy walking in the beautiful countryside. Well behaved dogs are also very welcome.
The Coachhouse which is the original whitewashed farm cottage and dates back centuries has been modernised and improved over the years to provide comfortable home from home accommodation. We have furnished it in a simple style using a mixture of antiques and more modern furniture but all with comfort and style in mind. The property is double glazed, centrally heated and with the added feature of a cast iron wood burner to provide that true country living style and that combined with the real wool throws and cosy lighting make this a wonderful place for relaxing and enjoying each others company. We have provided books, magazines & games for entertainment. The property has two bedrooms – one double and a twin again furnished simply but with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Our aim when creating our business was to make sure that our guests were truly looked after – and to this end we make sure that our beds are comfortable with the pillows and duvets being changed each year. The beds are all made up prior to your arrival so that you relax from the moment you unload. The heating will be on and in the case of late arrivals, the fire lit and lights left on so that you immediately know you have arrived at your new home!
The beach at Penllech which is a 20 minute walk away and just less than a mile round lanes, is superb for windsurfing, sailing, kayaking or swimming. Occasionally we see surf here but more likely to be of use for surfers would be the next bay along at Porth Towyn or the National Trust owned Whistlings Sands which is a 10 minute drive away. Close by we have great pubs namely The Lion in Tudweiliog, or the 2 in Aberdaron which both serve wonderful food and real ales. The Ship in Edern is another popular choice and it offers an exciting and ever changing menu for the discerning foodie.
  • We had a lovely short break at the cottage. A great place to stay for visiting the Llyn pennisula. We enjoy being able to go for walks from the doorstep and this was great for that! Lovely and warm with delicious bara brith! Thoughtful touches and a well equipped kitchen...what I am always pleased to see!! Incredibly quiet location which is perfect for us and our dog. We will definitely be back for another trip, the area is just so beautiful.

  • Gwenllian's cottage is a wonderful retreat set in the heart of the beautiful Llyn Penninsula. Gwenllian was immediately responsive to my communication, make check-in super easy, and showed wonderful hospitality by delivering a homemade cake. The cottage was sparkling clean, very cozy, well-equipped, and comfortable. During my visit a "bomb cyclone" weather event hit the coast of Wales making it especially comforting to know I was in a solidly built stone cottage. It is located centrally to castles, beaches, coastal walks etc. It was also super quiet with no road or other external noise (except the storm winds!). I highly recommend Gwenllian's cottage and I hope to return in the future.

  • We wanted a quiet Christmas with our two dogs, in a cosy house and that’s exactly what we got. In a stunning location with loads of walks to choose from and an amazing beach within walking distance. Gwenllian was also so accommodating and even baked mince pies for our arrival. Will definitely come back!

  • This was our second stay at the coach house. Cosy, clean and in the perfect location to go off exploring this beautiful part of Wales. Would definitely recommend.

  • A perfect location if you enjoy coastal walking. We covered many miles on the coast, you are on the beach of Penllech in approx. one mile. We have stayed in many cottages in the Llyn Peninsula, this is by far the best located. We had a very easy check in, The log burner had been made up and lit for our arrival. The milk and homemade cake is such a lovely touch. It's also the warmest and cosiest place we have ever stayed. The cottage is totally private and our hosts, although on hand if you need them, leave you to your privacy. The garden is secure and enclosed, making it ideal for our two Basset Hounds. To sum up, the cottage is clean, cosy, warm, great shower, bigger than it looks on photos, with a secure private garden in a perfect location. Thank you!

The Lodge which we renovated during the Spring of 2012, is cosy and warm and has the best of the views towards Holy Island on Anglesey and the lighthouse on South Stack. Both of these are well worth a day visit. The double glazing helps keep you warm on those cooler days together with the newly installed cast iron log effect stove which is more than adequate to heat the whole property. The dining room, lounge and kitchen are all open plan so families can play together round the dining table while watching the large flat screen T.V. The Lodge sleeps 5 in 2 double bedrooms and a single all with fitted furniture. All bed linen is provided and the beds will be made prior to your arrival.

  • This place is in a great location, it’s clean, well supplied and the host is really wonderful. I couldn’t ask for more of her or her place. Just make sure to stock up on what you need, there’s a small beach shop with essentials a short walk away, but the nearest supermarket is a fair drive. Overall, really wonderful!

  • Ann was a very thoughtful and generous host and the room and en suite were spotless and very comfortable. We would definitely visit again!

    Nicky2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location, nice and peaceful if you are looking for a bit of a retreat away from all the hustle & bustle of city life. Food in the local pubs and surroundings areas were very good and there is so much to explore when you are there. Would recommend even if you live in Wales (which I do), there are parts you probably wouldn't necessarily go to. Ann herself is a great host, with a lovely dog as well, which was very friendly! Overall, 10/10.

    James2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ann’s place is small but the view makes it seem larger. Nice coffee and cake for the mornings and everything was very comfortable. With the private entrance and bath it’s nearly a private apartment, and Ann was friendly and nice. Also, good walking paths and a decent pub nearby.

    Patti2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Ann offers a great stay for a weekend getaway! Although the space being small it feels very cozy and is well-taken care off with thoughtful details. The garden at the back is adorable and adds to your stay! We had a big delay for our check in and really appreciate how understanding and helpful Ann has been. Thanks Ann!

The roundhouse is a beautifully crafted, cosy hideaway with simple, basic comforts. You sleep under a thick thatch roof on a comfortable double bed with storage drawers beneath, there's a small wood fired earth oven - fireplace for the colder months, there's a reading light and an electrical socket. Its small and cosy inside and full of character. You'll hear the sound of a trickling stream beneath the balcony , the soft hooting of owls in the night and the birdsong in the thickets about you.
its a cosy , intimate room suitable either for a single person or couple or friends wishing to enjoy a simple, natural lifestyle in beautiful rural surroundings for a few relaxing days. Its for people who love to be immersed in nature, the countryside and its wildlife. You can use the basic bath and small kitchen in the nearby shared farmhouse 300 yds away
The Llyn Peninsula is a treasure trove of small coves , ancient heathered hillforts, narrow county lanes and coastal villages- some quiet and others bustling with visitors and beach life during the summer. You'll hear locals speaking their native Welsh lanuage in shops, pubs, schools and workplaces. Its a friendly area with a close knit community, everyone knows each other for miles around. When the weather is good there's swimming, walking the beautiful coastal path, fishing and enjoying the outdoor cafes ....when its stormy there's great surfing ! The grandeur of the Snowdonia mountain range is about an hour's drive to the east . Westward - there is a small boat that will take you to Ynys Enlli - porth y nef - gateway to heaven - a small island 2 miles offshore home to angels and wildlife. You'll get an idea of what life is like at the centre here through watching a short slideshow called "Felin Uchaf Volunteers 2016" on Youtube
  • Wonderful time here! Basic but a much-loved respite from the big city, with some gorgeous star gazing on a clear night. It was an impressive roundhouse in traditional design, and comfortable and cozy once we got the fire going. There was electricity, including a kettle and a desk lamp, and the roundhouse is otherwise lit up by cute tea lights and the oven fire. Firewood is provided for the first night, which was much appreciated as we arrived late in the dark! As there is no shower in the roundhouse or in the main house, I had a squat-shower using the bathtub sink in the main farmhouse, which was fine and give us a nice chance to chat to some of the volunteers and other visitors. Everything was easy to find and very clearly labelled/sign-posted. This is not for you if: you want a convenient hot shower, you can't stand bugs (we had a couple spiders appear), you don't want to risk walking a few minutes in the dark to the toilet at night (as the outhouse is down a semi-forested path). This is for you if: you want a peaceful stay out in the country, you want a bit of adventure and can deal with semi-roughing it up with basic facilities, particularly if you have a car and want to explore the surrounding areas (my favourite was walking up to the lookout on the far end of Llyn peninsula).

  • A stunning setting and beautiful accommodation. A peaceful hideaway and surrounded by nature - the perfect place to get away from daily stresses. There are amazing walks around the coast and stunning beaches to watch the sun set. The pizza oven was a real treat and the thatched roof, wooden beams and comfy bed made for a very cosy sleep.

  • This was by far the best experience we had in the UK. Menter Y Felin Uchaf is an experience that we would recommend to anyone. We would have been happy to have stayed here for our entire tour of the UK. There is a real magic going on here and a lot of that comes from the host Dafydd. His work and hospitality is truly inspiring.

    Steven2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time to the small roundhouse and the fourth to the centre. We absolutely love it to unwind. The new addition of a chiminea made it even more relaxing. What can I say simply special!

  • A late booking as camping not an option due to weather forecast. What a find. For us this one of the most beautiful few days away anywhere we've been in the world. As a maker I was overwhelmed by the creativity and flair in both the accomodation and site. Soul food in tranquil surrounding for anyone wanting to be grounded in basic yet inspured comfortable accomodation.

  • Sue’s chalet is very well situated for exploring the Llyn Peninsula. It is spotlessly clean, warm and cosy and extremely well equipped for a family. The kitchen has everything you would have at home. Our children loved it, especially the cupboard full of board games! It is in a peaceful spot with a view of the sea. Sue and her husband were extremely welcoming and attentive hosts (delicious home-made lemon cake awaited us on our arrival!), without being in any way over-bearing. I was a little apprehensive about feeling cold (our visit was during bad winter weather), but I needn’t have worried! Thank you for having us.

    Fabienne2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The chalet is homely, comfortable and sparkling clean. The kitchen is well equipped and there are thoughtful touches throughout - Sue has thought of everything! She even printed a weather and surf forecast when I told her we were looking to surf. The place is so well placed for the local beaches and lovely coastal walks. Highly recommended!

    Charlotte2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our first time using Air Bnb and we were super impressed. A lovely place to stay and all the little touches were so much more than we expected. Thank you. We will definitely be back :-)

Sue bill and family were such a help to me and girls nothink was a problem even down to sue offering to pop my youngest daughters clothes in washing machine after her spilling a drink on way down to ty-coch.. couldn’t do enough for us very safe and homely beautiful place smiles all round 😊

It is comfortable and in tip-top condition. In addition, Sue is a wonderful and discreet host. There are so many wonderful places within walking and driving distance. The scenery is stunning. This is a great place to stay for coastal walks, seaside villages and beaches.

  • This is a fantastic place to stay. It is full of character and charm. We stayed in September and it was cool at night so we were glad we brought sleeping bags to use in addition to the duvets provided. It was great cooking around the fire. Lovely beaches nearby.

    Sarah2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Rather unusual, but delightful accommodation. Posh camping, maybe? But better than that. The buildings are completely different than anything we normally see these days, but fit perfectly into their surroundings. Simple, but enough in the room - lights, mattresses and duvets, kettle. Toilet and car park are a little walk away. The site is very "back to nature", and highly recommended to have a look at the other buildings and development work going on at the charity. If you're expecting a five star hotel then you'll be very disappointed. Wanting to live in the outdoors under a thatched roof and woken to the birds singing then you'll be right at home.

    Matthew2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! I loved it! We are thinking of the teachers having time out here on the summer break! Thank you

    Nicki2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We have just left the roundhouse and WOW just wow. We had a great time and it most definitely exceeded our expectations! There was more in the house than we expected, there is cutlery, a kettle, washing up equipment, pots, pans, towels, pillows, blankets, a lighter, hot water bottles...pretty endless list! It was just great. We took some sleeping bags....NOT NEEDED. The weather has been pretty great but even so, it was cool on a night. The Roundhouse was rather warm and extremely cosy! We had use of a fire pit that had everything you could need for BBQ style cooking. You can buy bags of logs for £2.50 if you run out! We went to the story telling evening, which we are glad we did. You can get a hot drink and some cake half way through. There was a fire pit there for the kids to toast marshmallows. Davies was lovely and very helpful, giving us tips and advice on where to go and what to see. If you have children this is an experience you must try! We will be returning again no doubt. If i haven't sold it to you....i just asked my daughter (age 11) what was her best and worst bits... Best bit...."All of ot" Worst bit..."leaving" We can't wait to visit again and will be recommending it to all our friends and family :)

Comfortable dog friendly retreat in peaceful surroundings, private use of garden with barbeque . Short drive from the beautiful north coast of the Lleyn Peninsula. Coastal path walks (we can offer a drop off/ pick up service). Golf at the famous Nefyn Club. Refreshments at the Ty Coch Inn, Porthdinllaen beach. Excellent food is served locally at The Lion Hotel or enjoy fish and chips in Aberdaron. We provide a microwave, fridge, china, glasses, cutlery, toaster, kettle, tea, coffee and milk.
The Retreat has every thing needed for a comfortable relaxing holiday. It has the look and feel of a beach hut. The beds are made ready for you and we provide towels, (but please bring your own beach towels). We don't provide cooking facilities apart from a microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, china, cutlery and glasses. Enough for you to make a simple breakfast or supper. There is a barbecue for your use in the Garden. I am afraid that living in the country is not conducive to a good wifi signal or mobile coverage. We do get some but not very powerful.
We are in a quiet and peaceful area, our neighbors have a dressed crab and lobster business, well worth a visit. Pre ordering is recommended 01758 770397. At the start of our Lane is a unique milking parlour, fascinating to watch when the cows are milked,
  • Beautiful cabin and fantastic scenic location. The hosts are brilliant and included some thoughtful little touches in the cabin. We booked this cabin for our anniversary weekend away; on arrival we received a card and some chocolates from Jane and John, which was really lovely. We really enjoyed our stay here in the tranquil countryside and hope to go back again. Thanks for having us!

  • We had a very peaceful warm cosy stay despite the storms. Everything you need and more, lots of thoughtful touches and close drive to lots of amazing beaches.

  • This is a cosy, friendly spot! It’s very quiet and relaxing surrounded by good views and walks. It’s easy to get to the beaches and towns nearby. There’s all the things you need inside for a proper rest. The hosts are very kind people.

  • Janes place is lovely. Jane and her husband were very welcoming upon arrival and departure and although they live just across the way you didn't feel as though you were being 'watched'. They left a lovely little care package with milk, bread, fruit and butter which was so helpful and the place was so cosy, warm and even had the heated blanket on the bed. There isn't anywhere walking distance from the house so bear this in mind if you like to have a couple of drinks in an evening but other than that it was fantastic. Beautiful house, location and a welcoming host. Would recommend, very peaceful and excellent value for money.

  • Had a great few days in the cosy chalet which is full of lovely decor and everything needed for our stay. Jane and John, truly are, superhosts who are thoughtful and helpful. Best bed I've ever slept in for sure.

  • This place is a lovely peaceful relaxing place, would be perfect for a summer break in the countryside.we felt at home and the hosts are very friendly.

    Thomas2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • The retreat is a lovely, cosy space to call home for our weekend stay. Jane met us outside when we parked up and gave us a little tour of the “beach hut”. It was lovely and cosy and Jane had put the electric blankets on our beds! There was a basket of goodies, and a vase of fresh flowers - lovely little touches. During the night there was colossal rainfall. Early in the morning john was out with his shovel ensuring everything was kept dry. Unfortunately, the rain had washed a large amount of gravel into the lane which meant I would have been unable to get out to the photography course I had booked. John came to the rescue and gave me a lift in his 4 x4 and picked me up later which was above and beyond. He also gave my parents a lift down and told them a circular walk they could do. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet weekend away from it all.

    Rachael2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • It’s the second time we’ve stayed here and it was just as great as before! Jane and John are superb hosts and the retreat is so warm and cosy. Comfy beds, super shower, flowers and a welcome bag of breakfast goodies (plus bowls for our dog) make you feel right at home. The perfect place to escape and relax in a beautiful setting. Can’t wait to return!

  • The bunkhouse was spacious, really comfortable to sleep and had everything we needed inside. It was a great place to to explore and the so close to the coast. We had a great stay and would be happy to go back again x

  • Loved our stay here!! Thank you so much and I’m sure we will be back soon!!

    Jasmine2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Firstly, let me say, this place is amazing. Right.... what to expect, On approach you are met with some scenic nature trails either side as you drive up to your accommodation a lovely thatched earth house. The celtic bunk bunkhouse we had was spacious with decking outside it, big enough to have table and chairs for 6 people which is provided along with a chimney wood burner. The candles and solar lights provided add an extra comfort during the night also giving a beautiful picture. Everything is pretty much provided but we took our own bbq with a few extra bits.

    Collette2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Large roundhouse is beautifully set, with a fantastic outside space, and really large interior. Booked this for a fishing trip with two friends, space was far far larger than expected. Was apprehensive about using a composting toilet for the first time, but the experience was surprisingly pleasant, something I would employ myself even! Very relaxed atmosphere.

A beautiful little thatch roofed barn with stunning views of the Llyn peninsula. The barn is complete with an open plan kitchen/living area a crog loft bedroom with a double bed and small bathroom including a shower. Guests have access to a private decking with gas BBQ.
A traditional cruck framed thatch roofed barn restored using natural and local materials
  • Beautiful location and barn. Will definitely be returning.

    Issy2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to get away from the grind of daily life, this is for you. The barn is tucked away behind the farmhouse, fenced off for privacy with stunning views of the hills and the Irish Sea. Be prepared for some tight roads on the way in and around the place, but also be prepared for the stunning scenery on your drive to the barn. Hells mouth is a very short drive as is Abersoch. We took prepared food with us but there are local shops on the way in and a Spar just a few minutes drive away. If you're lucky the chickens from next door come out in the morning and sneak under the fence to see whats going on.

    John2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing setting for a quiet, relaxing break. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Lots of lovely walks right on your doorstop. It’s a beautiful part of the world and the little barn was such a cosy, comfortable place to enjoy it all from. We were sad to leave.

  • An amazing little place to go for a weekend! Went with my boyfriend for a late valentines trip and arrived to a spotless, really warm and comfortable space to stay in the cold weather. Has everything you would need to cook your own meals as we did, and tons of information about the surrounding area, although we opted to stay in most of our stay as the February weather wasn’t the best. Really cozy environment, beautifully decorated, and amazing views from outside. We will definitely look at coming back!

    Olivia2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Good communication from the host and beautiful location

    Lauren2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is idyllic. We stayed during some truly terrible weather and still had a wonderful time. You definitely need your own means of transportation but it's a great jumping off point for the Llyn Peninsula and beyond.

This is a lovely cabin in heart of Welsh countryside. It is the perfect place to get away from a busy life, if you are looking for peace and quiet.
The main wooden cabin is a lounge/ bedroom space with a sofa and double bed. It has a TV and wifi. Next to it is a seperate cabin with a kitchen with cooking facilities and dining space. Also in the cabin is a bathroom with shower. A travel cot is available, but guests must bring their own baby bedding.
The closest village , Sarn Mellteyrn , is 1mile away .It has a shop, a garage which sells petrol and diesel, an award - winning butcher and two pubs with gardens, which serve bar meals. The property is four miles from Abersoch, seven miles from Aberdaron and ten miles from the market town of Pwllheli.
  • Just returned from a lovely short break here. Heulwen & Dafydd were extremely helpful and attentive hosts throughout our stay including tips for a rainy day, providing an alternative parking option due to the wet ground and a torch when we returned in the dark! There was also the offer of wellies and waterproof clothing has we not come prepared. The hut itself was sparkling clean with a couple of extra little touches including fresh eggs, butter and milk. A great location, close to lots of beaches which our dogs and us loved despite the wet and windy weather! We particularly loved Abersoch with a great beach and lots of lovely spots for coffee and lunch as well as a great pizza takeaway place! We will definitely be back 😊

    Caley2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cabins are just superb with excellent facilities, such a comfy bed and a cosy space to relax in after a long day walking! The hosts were wonderful, thoughtful touches like eggs and milk and when the forecast was bad Heulwen messaged with rainy day suggestions in case we needed them. They were very attentive and warm yet gave us plenty of space. The visits from the cats were enjoyed! I would recommend taking some food with you as we got there and realised there was such good facilities and then headed back out to get groceries at the lidl in pwelli. Lovely shower, cosy space with good wifi and beautifully clean :) will stay again in a heartbeat :)

    Natalie2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • A one-off location in the middle of the Lleyn Peninsular. Close enough to local towns, but far enough to be rusic and quiet! The cabins are comfortable and the hosts are very friendly and caring!

    Trevor2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, lovely people. Every need catered for. We even left with a free cucumber!

    Geraint2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The place and stay exceeded my expectations from the already good AirBnB pictures & description. Ideal for a couple or single travellers as bedroom/living room & kitchen/shower very well appointed. Excellent location for Surfing / Mountain Biking as two great surf spots (Aberdaron & Porth Neigwl [Hell’s Mouth]) 30 mins & MTB Coed-y-Brenin just over an hour. WiFi good at about 5Mbps, mobile 4G strong at 30Mbps. Good 32” Freeview HD TV. Bed excellent, with special mention to the LazyBoy chair! Heating good if need, kitchen all there (no oven) and shower very good (strong & hot!). Can’t recommend enough if either want to get away from all for while or just explore area & use as a base. Hosts are great, there at start & again at end though sure could have seen if needed any time. Locating place bit tricky first time via SatNav post code so here’s an exact GPS: (52.8663559, -4.5917286). Enjoy it as I did!

    Michael2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay and this was the perfect base for exploring. So perfect that while on a picnic exploring the rural coastline, my partner proposed! Needless to say, we will be back. If you're looking for somewhere to escape on a busy Bank holiday, where grass grows in the middle of the road and sheep are your neighbours, this is the place! Hosts were lovely and provided milk, couple eggs and butter which was a really nice touch. Note: Make sure to bring ample supplies foodwise. We went on some pretty rural trips but there is a Spar easily accessible (although parking was tricky as it was super busy in the neighbouring town it was in, due to being a Bank Holiday). If we'd planned more ahead we would've stopped somewhere on the way to make life easier. Lovely spot with everything we needed! Can definitely recommend!

    Kate2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great secluded location for a stay on the Llyn, totally recommend it! There's a lovely and comfortable living space and outdoor area, within easy reach (by car) of the whole peninsula where there are tons of things to see and do. Heulwen and Dafydd are lovely hosts, really friendly and helpful.

    Emma2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really lovely time here. Having the two separate huts gave it the same outdoor connection you get with camping but with none of the disadvantages, and the Lleyn is beautiful! Heulwen was attentive but discreet - we barely saw her, but she cleared away the windfalls while we were out so there were fewer wasps.

  • This is clean, modern, comfy place to stay. Mel and Rod were so welcoming with lovely extra touches that made us feel special. They were also easy to get hold of if needed and made checking in and and out really straight forward . The house itself is fitted out with all the facilities we needed for a family of 6 and two kids, including a 5 week old baby. The bedrooms where really comfy and cosy, great bathroom facilities and a separate laundry room. The location was also perfect for us, within short drives of some wonderful beaches, 10 mins to the spar at Morfa Nefyn for supplies and surrounded by lots of wonderful walks. The view of the sunsets was spectacular and especially good from the hot hub!

  • Lovely flat, just as in the pictures. Very comfortable bed- slept really well. Clean and well-equipped kitchen. Easy check-in with lockbox and parking right outside. Bethan sent us very clear instructions, so it was easy to find, even in the dark. She left us a bottle of wine too, which was lovely to share on our anniversary- very thoughtful. Would stay again.

  • We had a fantastic stay, the flat was great, clean and homely. Superb location for exploring beaches

    Louise2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We chose Pen Y Berthan as a base for our reminiscent trip to Tudweiliog (first time in almost 30 years), as the alternative was The Lion B&B close by and this was way over our budget. Price aside, this was a great choice as we found a really comfortable place to stay and unwind for a few days. I was travelling with my older parents and it was a perfect spot for us. Very short walk to the post office (and shop) and The Lion pub for lovely food and a few glasses of Eliot's Winter Warmer! Even my dad with Parkinson's and dementia could manage to walk it. We brought our own food (cooked breakfast items, fajita box and ingredients, picnic-style snacks) and only ate out twice as the self-catering facilities were top notch. Bit of a squeeze to get our legs under the dining table, but was only a minor problem for my dad. Sitting room was so cosy - having the electric fire on with the doors open heated the whole apartment in no time at all. DVD player built into the TV. Bedrooms were clean and beds comfortable. Bathroom, too is nicely done out and did the job. We successfully found our old caravan site nearby and took a few jaunts to Phwllheli, Morfa Nefyn and Abersoch in the car. The rest of the time we simply relaxed in the apartment - something we wouldn't have been able to do in a hotel. It truly felt like a home from home. Bethan, the host, was quick to respond to my questions and communications and she was kind enough to offer us a late check-out on the day we left. I would love to revisit and do some proper walking in the area - The Llyn peninsula really is a beautiful part of the UK.

  • I would highly recommend Y Gweithdy as a peaceful and comfortable place to stay. We spent 2 days in the area walking the coast paths, and the bunkhouse made the ideal base. It is clean, comfortable and has everything you need. It was lovely to meet Gillian, who kindly left us fresh milk and bread, as well as giving advice about the local area. Many thanks Gillian and we hope to be back in the future :)

    Elsa2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Super kind Gillian gave great suggestions about the local town, where to get food (she runs the bakery in town too) and as we had walked for miles to get there, even offered to take our bags to the house for us! Accommodation as described, room 2 is the best as the only one with ensuite shower and toilet. A perfect stay for the Welsh Coastal Walk, as it's 2 miles from Aberdaron and right near the path.

  • A very comfortable bunkhouse. Bunk beds are wide with comfortable mattresses, and the bed linen lovely and clean. Bright and clean.

You’ll love my place because of the cosiness, the high ceilings, the views, and the location. My place is good for couples, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). We do charge £25.00 for pets which is payable on arrival
  • Immaculate cottage in a great location for exploring the Llyn peninsular by car. The cottage was spotless and had everything we (3 adults, a baby and a dog) needed for the weekend, including facilities to cook in the evenings and full breakfast and lots of useful information on nearby walks and beautiful beaches. It was lovely and cozy, even during storm Jorge! I only wish I’d brought slippers as the lovely stone floor was freezing - a teeny point and my fault, just a tip for others! We’d definitely recommend and would come back again.

  • Fabulous cottage in our favourite part of wales. Dairy cottage is beautifully styled, immaculately clean and had lots of lovely outside space perfect for dogs. Quiet, peaceful and private. We had a lovely weekend despite storm Dennis! Very good value for money and a short drive from abersoch and Aberdaron. Will definitely be back.

  • We have just returned from a half term stay at Bryn Bach in our very special place, Aberdaron. Tracy was a wonderful host with really prompt and friendly communication prior to our stay. The house is spotlessly clean and kitted out with you all need and more! The view from the living room is just mesmerising and the location is perfect- just a minutes stroll down the hill and you are in the centre of the village which has all you need for a relaxing and happy holiday- the best bakery, Spar, 2 pubs serving great food, cafes and of course the beach!! Thank you Tracy for being such a fabulous host. We hope to be back again soon.

  • Had a lovely stay in the Tidwal Pod. The location and the views are amazing! The pod itself is really well equipped. We used the fire wood burner for the first time and after a few minutes we got the hang of it, even though it's small it heats up the room nicely. Bedding and towels are not provided, just bring your own. There is a fridge/freezer in a separate shed, next to the pods, which we found really handy! Thank you!

  • This is a delightful surprise set in beautiful countryside in one of the loveliest places in Wales. The pod is really well appointed, cosy and warm. It felt like camping but without the bother of a tent.

  • These pods are fantastic! Set in a beautiful, quiet location but not to far away from both Abadaron and Abersoch. The pod was clean and modern with everything that we needed and had enough space for 2 adults and 2 young children. The field that the pod sits in is safe, secure and well maintained so we felt comfortable letting the children run and play while we relaxed on the porch! Lots of thoughtful touches like outdoor games and board games in the pod. The addition of a fridge is great as we had quite a lot of supplies for the BBQ. The bathroom facilities really exceeded expectations as the shower was great! All in all we had a wonderful 2 night stay and are looking forward to returning!

    Rose2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic stay with our 3 young children and dog. Excellent welcome instructions and directions. The Pod is very well designed, high spec, cozy and has everything you need. The pictures don’t do it justice. The addition of a communal fridge was an unexpected but welcome addition for storing milk etc. The field is secluded with wonderful rural views to wake up to and sunsets to enjoy into the evening. We met Will briefly whilst packing up to leave and he was a great host. Angharad was particularly helpful in giving us a call to let us know we had forgot something. If you’re looking for something in this area, in our view you can’t go wrong with these Pods.

    Tom2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We have had a fantastic week staying in Tudwal. The pod is very well thought out and equipped. The addition of the fridge/freezer was a real bonus too. This ground floor bedroom opens onto a patio with access to large gardens. There is a kettle & toaster in the room & a fridge outside the room. There is a private shower room and toilet next door. The house sits at the bottom of Garnfadryn in the centre of Pen Llŷn, 10 miles from Pwllheli, 5 miles from Nefyn & 10 miles from Abersoch. Ideal for exploring the many beautiful beaches around Pen Llyn. The famous Ty Coch pub and golf course at Porth Dinllaen are 5 miles from the house.
We are happy to leave you to your own devices or help you get the most out of your stay, it’s up to you! As this is a room in our house, we will be around, looking after our chickens and managing the garden.
The area is famous for its beauty and vibrant Welsh culture. The golf course at Morfa Nefyn is spectacular, even if you don't play - a walk through the course to the famous Ty Coch pub on the beach is well worth the effort. Ofcourse, there are the beaches and we are happy to point you in the direction of some of our favourites. The hamlet of Dinas is situated near the foot of Garn Fadryn Mountain. Ruins of an Iron Age hill fort remain at the summit, which provides spectacular views over the Llŷn Heritage coast towards the Isle of Anglesey and as far as the Wicklow Mountains on a clear day. The popular resorts of Pwllheli and Abersoch are within easy reach. We are also only 50 minutes drive from Snowdon. A beautiful and large family holiday cottage on the Llyn Peninsula. This converted mill provides luxurious accommodation for up to 10 guests in this popular holiday destination.
Hen-Felin is a beautiful and large family holiday cottage on the Llyn Peninsula. This converted mill provides luxurious accommodation for up to 10 guests in this popular holiday destination. Exquisite furnishings and gorgeous location combine to provide a fantastic holiday cottage. We turn off a quiet country lane onto a large private driveway with the cottage square in front. Crunching across the gravel we come to a large oak door which in turn leads us into a bright and airy entrance hall. The designer chair sitting under the stairs and the high vaulted ceilings gives an immediate sense of style and quality. The lounge come dining room is off to the right. A huge long room which accommodates an impressive dining table and chairs at one end and a welcoming log fire and seating area at the other end. Bespoke lighting and ornaments adorn a French style side table. Sheepskin and Persian rugs are scattered casually over a solid oak wood floor. We return back through the entrance hall to get to the kitchen. Country style fitted units sit on a warm quarried tiled stone floor which are, in turn, bedecked with a granite worktop. A refreshingly individual central island provides more work surface with a second dining table providing a focus for that morning family breakfast. All the standard white goods are there. A large fridge freezer, fan oven, induction hob etc. plus a large utility room also houses a washing machine and tumble dryer. 5 bedrooms in total. The first of which is also on the ground floor. A large double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. As with the rest of the house, the furnishings are perfect. A large central king sized bed is flanked by two side tables with angle poised lamps. A solid wood wardrobe and chest of drawers provides plenty of storage. The en-suite bathroom houses a spacious low level shower, wc and washbasin. Upstairs there are two more double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms. Both of the double bedrooms are very generously sized. The twin bedrooms are smaller but still comfortable. Great views and a great light upstairs especially in the morning surrounded as you are by fields of sheep and the rolling hills of the Llyn Peninsula. The family bathroom up here has a powerful shower over a bath, wc and washbasin. There is also a third shower room back down at the foot of the stairs if required.
The mill stands in it’s own grounds with one other holiday cottage nearby and some working barns on the other side of the road, so a wonderful tranquil spot. There’s a grassy area to the rear of the cottage and a lovely patio with some impressive wood patio furniture. The adjoining field beyond does need some landscaping work at some stage but will not affect the quality of your stay. Although grouped with our Abersoch cottages, Hen-Felin is actually a little closer to Aberdaron, a small village right at the tip of the Llyn-Peninsula. Aberdaron is one of my favourite places in the world. Two great pubs, a selection of lovely tea rooms and a wonderful sandy beach. A must for all guests at the cottage. Abersoch is a little further to the east and is of course well known for it’s clothing shops, restaurants and small bars. A busy marina and a relaxed surfing type culture make it another popular destination for visitors to the area. The welsh coastal path naturally skirts around the house and the tip of the peninsula. The hidden coves and un-spoilt landscape must make this one of the most spectacular sections of this now famous path. A walk that can be enjoyed throughout the year. Many activity providers have also set themselves up in the area and help provide guests with all the fun, adventure and adrenaline they can wish for. Lat/Long 52.830804, -4.660643

  • Great, quiet location. Accommodation clean and warm. Would recommend.

  • The Cow Shed is very comfortable and inviting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the location! The whole place was spotless and had all the essentials for a short or long stay. June was brilliant at maintaining communication. Although difficult to find, June sent us directions prior to arrival which made the journey easier. WiFi is not available but there is a TV with Freesat, and we had mobile signal and 4G throughout the whole stay. Would definitely visit again!

  • Very Good

  • A terrific location for those walking the Welsh Coast Path. With a bit of planning we were able to leave the car for four days and walk or take the No.17 bus to starting and stopping off points at Porth Colman, Aberafon, Llanbedrog and Cricceth.

  • We really enjoyed our stay, very clean and tidy and peaceful location with plenty of outdoor space. The Cow Shed was an ideal base for exploring this part of Wales and we would thoroughly recommend to other travellers.

  • What a fantastic place to stay. June and John have created a gem of a property. Excellent facilities, spotlessly clean and a warm welcome. An artistic and practical conversion of an old cow shed into a spanking apartment. You would not be disappointed staying here. The cow shed offers an excellent base to explore the Llyn Peninsula. With an ample space to enjoy breakfast and an evening meal 'Al Fresco'. Our dog loved the very large empty paddock, total freedom. Thank you, June, John and Gill for providing a relaxing holiday, for our mini break. We hope to return in the future.

  • This cosy little barn was perfect for our mini break in the Llyn Peninsula, and very central to all local amenities - our main ones being the seaside towns of Aberdaron and Abersoch, and not far from Porthdinllain either. Diolch

  • Lovely accommodation, very modern and clean. June was onsite which was nice to know and the information pack provided form surrounding amenities was really helpful too. Relaxed approach to hosting which was nice and plenty of outdoor space for the dog. I think some small touches such as soap, and some basic breakfast items would have complimented and reflected the cost of the stay.

A simple yet beautiful three-bedroom coastal cottage on the edge of the cliff overlooking the beach and sea in the picturesque village of Aberdaron close to the tip of the Llŷn Peninsula. The generous lawned gardens offer 360 degree views overlooking Aberdaron Bay, and then out to sea as far as the horizon with nothing between you and the sea but the beach! The cottage has 3 double bedrooms, 2 with king size beds and a third with 2 single beds.
The cottage is our family holiday home bought after many happy years holidaying in this incredible part of the world. It is dog-friendly but please respect our non-dog owning guests and don’t let Fido on the beds or furniture! The cottage is around 100 years old and built in the traditional Welsh style. This does mean that there are steep stairs to the upstairs bedrooms and low ceilings to watch out for. There is a small camping field to the side of the house and the very quiet coastal road to the front. The road will take you to the fabulous beaches of Yso, Cariad, Hell’s Mouth and Abersoch - otherwise known as Cheshire-on-Sea :). The cottage has 3 double bedrooms (1 on the ground floor). Bedrooms 1 & 2 have queen size beds whilst the third has 2 single beds. There is a fully equipped kitchen, separate dining room, cosy lounge with window seat, sofa, armchairs and TV with integral DVD player. The bathroom is also on the ground floor and has a separate shower and bath. There is a separate loo and a utility room with washing machine, dryer, fridge and freezer. The cottage is beautifully decorated in a simple coastal style with stone flagged floors to the kitchen & dining areas. We provide all your towels, beach towels, bed linen and tea-towels. And to keep you happy on wet weather days we’ve gathered together loads of DVD’s, books, magazines and games for you to get stuck into. To the outside there is dining and lounging furniture (summer only) a picnic table, viewing benches and a BBQ (summer only) . There is also WiFi, digital radio with Spotify connect and cable TV.
A beautiful & ancient seaside village complete with medieval church and historic buildings, Aberdaron is a true jewel of the Llyn Peninsula. Buzzy but never too busy it offers all you'll need for a relaxing back-to-nature holiday.
  • We cannot recommend this beautiful home enough! It is by far the best escape that you will find! Book it now!! It was an absolute haven and cannot wait to return, such an amazing location and the nautical / tranquil decor is just magical. We went on some breath taking coastal walks & found the brilliant Ty Coch Inn, so thank you so much for your recommendations!! I read the folder cover to cover, a truly great guide, your efforts are very appreciated. Hope to return in the autumn. Many thanks, Megan

  • We had such a lovely time at this very special little cottage. We arrived on the 27th Dec and the cottage looked so Christmassy with all the Christmas decorations and fairy lights, it was very cosy. Thank you to the owners who were very responsive and helped us with local info in advance of our stay. The welcome basket was also a lovely treat thank you. The area is fantastic and I would highly recommend and would love to return. A Lovely beach just down the road which we all thoroughly enjoyed even on a windy December day. The bakery is also a must, we visited most days! We had a great week and what a fabulous New Year’s treat for our family. We will definitely return soon.

  • Wonderfully great and quirky old cottage - forget how many times I banged my head (approximately once a day I guess - I'm just a tad over 6 feet tall), but ideal for our aim of walking the North Llyn coastal path and taking the pilgrimage to Bardsey (a journey well worth the boat fare). Would recommend eating at the Ship Inn. Thank you.

Relax in this secluded, renovated coastal cottage with panoramic sea & mountain views, a simple family-run retreat on Mynydd Rhiw and overlooking Hell's Mouth Bay. A beautiful, cosy traditional stone cottage dated 1878, in the micro-climate of the Llyn Peninsula. Breathe clear sea air & enjoy many footpaths from the house. 3 bedrooms accommodate 6, with Wi-fi, TV & an acre of private grounds . A place to get closer to nature, enjoy wonderful views, walks & wildlife and appreciate total privacy.
Dogs welcome, and all fuel is supplied. Newly online since January 2020, see reviews from recent private bookings here https://www.facebook.com/penllynescape. Guests say this is a magical place. You choose whether to hunker down next to the Clearview woodburner with a book or glass of wine, or look out at the wonderful views. Enjoy a lie-in in the comfy beds or get out into nature and explore the footpaths all around. The cottage is orientated south-east and you will see the most wonderful sunrises on clear mornings. Access to the cottage is via a rough single track which is narrow in some parts, and about 500 metres long. See 'guest access'. The area is steeped in history. In 10 minutes you can walk part of the pilgrim's way to Ffynnon Sant (Holy Well), walk up to the site of the Neolithic axe factory, walk the coastal path towards Rhiw village and standing stones nearby or take the footpath from outside the drive right down to the beach cliffs. Well-behaved dogs are welcome too, and we request a £15 cleaning charge per dog, maximum 2 dogs. Our dog loves the grounds and never wants to leave. Please contact me to arrange. The cottage is heated by the solid fuel Rayburn (wood and eco-coal supplied). It runs the radiators and can be lit for you before your arrival. It's also offers a second oven and hob for big meals or for you to experiment with slow-cooking. There is also a powerful woodburner in the sitting room. Water is heated by the Rayburn and topped up with an immersion heater for those long soaks in the roll-top bath. Towels and bedlinen are provided and beds will be made up for you, laundered using gentle eco products and line-dried when possible. Natural handmade soaps and eco cleaning products are available for your use and the cottage is professionally cleaned using these. Perfect for those who prefer to avoid strong chemicals and fragrances.
This is a very beautiful and ancient landscape. The cottage is in a protected Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounded by heathland and historic footpaths many of which follow the old pilgrimage routes for people making their way to Bardsey Island. . The grounds of the cottage border National Trust land leading all the way down to the beach.
  • Beautiful. Tranquil. Warm! I didn't want to leave.

  • A great place - views across the valley and onto Hell's Mouth are fantastic. Remote enough to be remote but still not too far away. We felt very at home there.

    Robin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a place where you can relax in a great rural location with amazing views then look no further. The cottage is just what you need to get away from it all but only 20 minutes away from the Abersoch. The cottage is cosy (even in February), clean, and with beautiful décor. Gorgeous gardens and perfect area to go for walks. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

    Matt2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous cottage, warm and cosy, with amazing views of wild Hell's Mouth bay from nearly every window. The perfect place to relax and unwind, and to also take walks in the rugged surrounding area. Eliza responded quickly and was very helpful and accommodating. Would thoroughly recommend a stay if looking for somewhere special that is off the beaten track.

  • Tiny cottage was the perfect weekend away, in the middle of nowhere (but not too far from Abersoch to get to the shops)! Ideal for surfers & walkers alike - we loved the cosiness of the place! Even though we couldn’t get out & about as much due to Storm Dennis, this was not a problem as the place was well catered with a cosy log fire to read a book by to chill out & smart TVs too. When the weather did clear for a bit we explored the beaches of Aberdaron, Abersoch, Porthor & Hell’s Mouth, all of which were just a short drive away! We’d love to come back in the summer to see even more of this beautiful part of the world 🌊 ☀️ Thank you for having us Sarah!👍🏻

    Sophia2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The view is spectacular and we enjoyed walks in the area. The place is really quirky and unique. We enjoyed sitting in front of the fire and watching the TV in the snug upstairs. I’d forgotten my walking guide book so was pleased to discover some books with a variety of walks to go on. We hope to stay again one day :-)

    Rebecca2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house is really awesome. In a fantastic spot for walking with the coastline and coast path just a short walk away. Really cute space. Small but big enough and well enough equipped to cook meals etc. We really loved it.

  • Fantastic cosy little cottage with amazing views and sunsets. Very well equipped and well thought out, modern and stylish refurb. Great host, helpful and attentive. Great location for stargazing and short walks to hidden beaches and headlands.

    Miles2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely fantastic time in the 'wee cottage'. Everything is beautifully designed to make the most of what space there is and we ( myself, my wife and our two boys aged 13 and 10) loved it. I like to cook when we stay in places and wondered how that would work but there was absolutely no need to worry - the kitchen is set up and designed so well it works a treat. When we had a small initial issue a quick phone call resolved everything immediately too. Great beaches nearby and a stunning view from the hillside spot where the cottage sits. Just a lovely, comfortable, fun break all round.

  • Enlli pod was a little haven for us. It really was a home from home and surprisingly spacious for a family of 4. Will and Angharad are thoughtful hosts. They left lovely little touches that we appreciated, especially a ride on tractor and little tikes car for the kids to play with. The pod is sparkling clean and is equipped with everything you need for a perfect stay. We loved how peaceful it was and how the kids can play safely knowing the grounds are secure. The views we woke up to were stunning. We thought we’d miss the tv, but to be honest none of us noticed or was bothered it was absent? It was nice to spend some quality family time (like I did when I was a kid) I’m sure we will return one day soon 😊

    Tracy2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • We’d never been in a glamping pod before and so weren’t 100% sure what to expect. In a nutshell though... WOW! Just fantastic! The pod itself is spacious, unique, cozy and very comfortable. Everything has been thought of, plenty of seating, that easily converts to very comfy beds. A nice little kitchen and a wood burner. We didn’t really need the burner as it was nice and warm when we stayed, but great to have it there. The bathroom is superb, with a nice hot shower, you couldn’t ask for more. But more is what you get, a great little porch area, lit at night for drinks and idyllic for breakfast in the morning. Add to all this the view and you’ve got a real gem! We’re a family of four, the kids loved it and so did we! Can’t recommend highly enough and Angharad is a pleasure to deal with too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
