Places to stay in Llangurig

Places to stay in Llangurig
Calm, relaxing and characterful home overlooking the river Severn, on a quiet street in the beautiful mid-Wales town of Llanidloes. We are in the process of slowly and lovingly refurbishing the house, so some cosmetic updating still needed. Families and pets are welcome to our little home from home.
As you can see from the photos, areas of the home are awaiting refurbishment and the listing price reflects this. I will update the photos as work is completed. We welcome families, children and pets. Please be aware the stairs are quite steep and narrow and we are happy to set up stair gates if you let us know in advance. There is also a small and lovely balcony overlooking the river that you are welcome to use, though small children should be supervised here. We request a small additional cleaning fee for pets. There is a flat screen TV & DVD player in the living room. We do not have Freeview or a TV streaming service, however there is an HDMI cable and a chrome cast if you wish to stream programs to your own tablet or device and watch on the screen. There is also a wide range of DVDs available. There are teas and coffees provided andwe are happy to arrange a small hamper of snacks, milk and breakfast items, just let us know any dietary requirements.
Llanidloes is a lovely small welsh town, with a friendly community. There are some lovely cafes - The Great Oak being one of the most popular, an art gallery and art shops, a local co-op, butchers, greengrocers, 2 childrens play areas and numerous lovely walks and woodland areas to explore. Llanidloes is a great base to explore mid-Wales and the borders, with beaches less than an hour away and many areas of outstanding natural beauty surrounding us.
  • Lovely hours, quiet, restful and comfortable.

The house is in a rural setting. Quite remote, but in a small hamlet of eight semi-detached houses. Beautiful views to the front of the house, gardens and woodland to the back and sides. Our small room looks over our back garden and into the woods, whilst our larger room looks down the valley and across to the hillside view.
  • Emma and Dave are great hosts with a cozy home and two friendly cats to match. I was given details on loads of local hotspots and things to do. I travelled for work and as such I got wet and dirty, but this wasn't an issue as they had places to dry and store kit. Very kind and interesting people and excellent hosts. Couldn't recommend enough.

  • A beautiful home in a beautiful location with lovely hosts. Very near to town for provisions. Near to wonderful woodland walks by the River Severn. Great vegetarian/vegan breakfast. Spotlessly clean house. Make sure you read the directions Susanne sends you rather than using Google.

  • Recommended very highly. Excellent value. Delicious and generous breakfast. Lovely location just out side of town. Susanne and Steve were particularly good with other help and recommendations we needed.

    Damian2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Susanne and Steve were very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful whether it was drying our wet clothing, coats and boots or filling thermos flasks. The Bungalow is spotlessly clean, beds very comfortable and we had no complaints what-so-ever.

  • A very comfortable and quiet place to stay in the heart of Wales.

    Owen2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best places we've stayed in! Wonderful, clean, cosy room. Steve (Susanne was away) was an amazing host who made us feel at home. Breakfast was delicious with such a huge range of choice to accommodate our diet. The dog Penny is very sweet and loves a tummy rub! We were sad we weren't staying for longer.

There is an abundance of open space, located on the top of a hill! Please note that due to the location, mobile signal is limited.
Cefn Cottage is situated approximately 4 miles from the quaint market town of Llanidloes.
  • Great place in a great location, with an amazing host. 10/10!

  • A great stay at Margaret’s place. She was there to meet us with a smile! Made sure we had everything we needed. Great views of the Welsh countryside.

    Gavin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • A little off the beaten track, with all that entails, it was great to get away from it all.

    Dave2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Without any doubt this was the best Airbnb I have ever been. The house has two different sitting rooms with sofa, 3 shower/toilet, upstair balcony with sitting arrangements, outside sitting area etc. Marg was one of the best engaging host I have ever met. I have no idea if anyone can expect anything better than this for a £75 a night. Wales is a beautiful country and the location of the house is perfect to explore snowdonia national parks and surrounding areas. I will go back and I am already recommending my friends and family to book Marg's place for a beautiful time.

    Mo2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cottage for a family getaway. Margaret will try her best to make you feel home. There isn’t a good network connection, and wifi in our case wasn’t working its usual best which was slightly disappointing specially when it was raining outside. But it was a mini break for us and i guess it’s good be disconnected for couple of days! Beautiful views and a scenic quite place to hang out for few days.

    Prapti2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, wonderful place for kids, especially if weather is good. Be prepared to travel a little if you want more activities. Very warm and friendly hosts

    Paul2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place with a really lovely home feel. All clean and quite. In a working farm but we never felt disturbed. It was great to see the day to day. Host was really welcoming as were her family who live on adjoining property. A really relaxing location with a village close by. You will need motorised transport to get back and forth. We used the place to explore Wales by motorcycles and for this it was ideally located. Great roads north, east, south and west. Couldn’t have asked for more but I’m sure if we had then Margret would have sorted it out! She also managed to lay on perfect weather 😉 Planning next year already

  • Cefn cottage is a very nice and comfortable place to stay. The accommodation is spacious, neat and tidy, and very well equipped - good heating and insulation meant we were very comfortable despite the weather being wet and cold during our stay. It has everything we needed, even including entertainment (many channels for television and lots of DVDs to watch). Our host is truly a very welcoming and gracious host! On our first day to the accommodation, she was there to meet us, and even gave us a welcome snack that she baked herself. The weather was cold that day, and she insisted and helped us to set up a fire in the living room fireplace to ensure we were kept warm. During the week, she checked in to make sure we were ok with things at the cottage, but otherwise left us to our own privacy. The kids also loved playing in the yard outside the cottage. There were toys and games set up outside for them to play (including a giant trampoline which they absolutely loved!) and these became a fun evening activity for the kids to play outside after we returned from a day of touring around. All in all, a wonderful stay, and we wished it could have been longer when we had to leave. Would definitely love to come back again someday, and a highly recommended accommodation for others looking to have a nice, cozy stay.

  • The Whistling Badger is a great place to stay. Everyone who works there are very friendly and helpful. Comfy bed too, slept like a log.

  • Excellent value for money at short notice. Everything you might need for a short visit to Llanidloes, and conveniently located in the centre of town. As the listing says, the room is surprisingly quiet despite being attached to a busy pub. We didn't actually meet Francesca, but the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the pub wasn't doing food the night we stayed, but I can recommend Evan's Fish Bar for dinner and the Great Oak Cafe for fantastic vegetarian lunches. If you like real ale, the pub has a good selection of well-kept local beers.

Traditional Mongolian yurt in stunning quiet position overlooking uninhabited valleys. A very romantic spot. Min 3 day let with changeovers on Monday or Friday. Located on fascinating small organic farm/ little community. Be reclusive or sociable!
This hand painted, traditional Mongolian yurt has a wonderfully secluded feel in its position at the head of three uninhabited valleys. 19' diameter, furnished with a (made up) double and single bed. 2 small mattresses can be pulled out from under the beds for children - for which you will need to bring bedding. A basket of wood is provided for the woodburner inside - further baskets can be bought for £8 each. There is a pile of wood we have collected that you can saw up for your fire pit. Tea lights are provided for lighting. (There is no electricity) It is in its own little enclosure with a fire pit which you can cook over and where you can sit to unwind at the end of the day. Cooking and dining in a wonderfully converted old school bus with kitted out kitchen. There are loos and hot showers in the farmyard. Friendly and unique - find seclusion, or become involved in the busy life of the small community with volunteers from all over the world. Traditional 17th century farmhouse, chapel. Hand milked jersey cows, cheesemaking, winemaking. 100 acre farm with sheep, woodlands, . For children the are streams to paddle in , a pond to fish for newts in, woods to explore, trampoline, croquet. This is not glamping but it is comfortable enough - bring your wellies and come back to the wild! We are involved in Cathedral archaeology, traditional crafts, building a stone age farm, tanning, natural building....and lots more!
This is sheep country - 25 of them to every one of us! So it feels remote and there is no sound of traffic. But the small friendly market town of Llanidloes is only for miles away - or an hours walk. There you can mix with the locals in the market or one of the pubs. Its a special place - beyond the commuters run, with a strong sense of community and a welcome to visitors,
  • If you want to get away from it all, be in nature but sleep in a comfy bed this is the place to go. We spent a great week with our 3 kids spending time outside, cooking on the fire, playing with the dogs, collecting eggs, messing in the stream and bouncing on the trampoline.

    Simon2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful place to stay! An inspiration, relaxing & cosy! The view from the yurt & fire pit was so beautiful peaceful and quiet - It felt like a true getaway! Would love to come back!

  • The best UK holiday experience for the whole family, 10 out of 10!

    Marina2019-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for the second time and if anything this time around was better as our youngest child was now 4 and so we could enjoy it more as a family. We stayed in the orange yurt again and the slight changes in the setup of furniture etc really improve the layout. We are a family of 5 and you could literally fit all of us in the huge bed comfortably and cozily. The fact that there are two fold up beds and even a spare mattress are a huge bonus. The area surrounding the yurt is outstanding. The view is simply breathtaking. There is a fire pit/BBQ outside the yurt with plenty of space and seats to enjoy the view. Also the yurt has a log burner. We enjoyed walking through the forest and playing on the two swings in the trees. There are excellent new shower facilities and toilets located in the main farm farm building and also a compost toilet situated nearly Merlins bus. The bus has been transformed in to a kitchen/diner and has all the appliances and equipment you need to make a nice meal. All in all our experience was great once again and we will definitely be visiting again this year and making it an annual tradition.

  • We arrived late in the evening to lit candles and fire, hot water bottles in the beds and home made cake and wine. Really lovely!

  • Grateful to Fran for accommodating me last minute despite one of the yurts catching fire and being unusable! I had a wonderful time in the carriage on the hill - so relaxing and beautiful. Such gorgeous views of the farm and valley. Warm, comfy bed - could have slept all day in it. Best bath I've ever had the pleasure of spending time in (in the farmhouse). Felt so welcome despite being on my own didn't feel alone once. Enjoyed Llanidloes a lot - quirky small town with friendly locals, plenty of scenic walks and importantly - affordable, hot, tasty food. Fran and Kevin kindly got me to and from the station which helped me immensely for a straightforward trip. I'm already planning to come back and am quite tempted to volunteer to learn more about their work (and passions) on the farm. Thank you for having me. A special, charming and interesting place.

    Jessa2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in the very comfortable Orange Yurt. The views from the yurt were stunning and it was lovely to sit round the fire pit in the evening or put the wood stove in the yurt on. Cooking is in a wonderful converted bus and facilities were good, a good cooker, plenty of pans and crockery and a sink with hot and cold running water as well as a toaster, microwave and kettle. The toilet nearest to the yurt was a composting one, don't be out off by this, it was fine and has a handbasin. We found the solar shower took a while to warm up but lighting the wood stove on the bus really helped to heat the water for everyone to shower. Our host was lovely and there were lots of welcoming touches. The nearby town has lots of small retailers, cafes and restaurants and a market as well as a couple of supermarkets. We definitely hope to stay again.

  • Impossible to describe how beautiful, tranquil, generous and friendly the place is. Frances and her farm helpers have been very welcoming. It's a special place indeed. Come here to relax, walk, perfect for groups. We stayed in the Orange Yurt. It has amazing views and is very big. A simple but rich experience. We shall undoubtably return.

It is also a popular area for cyclist with great walks/ rides to the source of the Severn. We have a very good golf course close by where the whole family can practice their putting. Some of these activities may have to be booked in advance. The town of Llanidloes is only a 10 minute walk away.
  • We had an absolutely fantastic time here. So much of that was due to how much thought had clearly gone into the camping experience, including a fantastic private bathroom (with nice warm shower), a comfy warm bed and a really well stocked kitchen area (including a special treat of bacon, sausage and eggs!)- we couldn’t have asked for anything more! The local area is also wonderful with plenty to do. Thank you to Jeanette for a fantastic holiday!

  • What can I say - this was a brilliant find on Airbnb and the pictures certainly don’t do it justice. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway, I would definitely recommend Jeanette’s space. We will be back again, hopefully with the doggies next time. PS if you love walking, this is definitely a great space to stay in - plenty of walking trails around.

  • Glamping bell tent in a field of your own in a beautiful area with a very decent private bathroom- for a very good price. There wasn't anything to not like. The area is stunning and if you like walking then I can't recommend it highly enough. Jeanette was the perfect host and made us feel very welcome. We can recommend a walk in Hafren forest and the pasties from the bakers in Llanidloes.

  • Absolutely loved our stay, Jeanette has thought of everything and the set up is adorable. The views are fantastic and there's an endless amount of things to do nearby, we wish we stayed longer so we had more time to do more of them! The local market town is lovely and has some great pubs and we really enjoyed visiting devils falls, would definitely recommend it. Jeanette's place is amazing value for money and we look forward to staying again in the near future!

  • Wonderful, private glamping experience that was perfect for our family of four and dog. Countless thoughtful little touches that make this glamping experience homely yet surrounded by lovely views. Llanidloes itself is a cute village that's worth visiting, and many other walks and attractions nearby. Jeanette is a great host.

  • My two teenage sons and I have just completed a four night stay in Hafren Cottage. It was really lovely and cosy, and it was spotlessly clean. The shower had good pressure and was lovely and hot. The beds were really comfy and all three of us agreed that the duvets were super snuggley (in fact I invested in some as soon as we got home!) The cottage had everything we needed in a really beautiful location. The added bonus of sheep in the field next to us, and seeing a chicken or two peering in at us through our cottages window, made for some fabulous photo opportunities! Thank you Grace and Adrian for having us and being so accommodating.

    Lisa2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay in! Would stay over and over again.

  • A wonderful place, beautifully decorated and well equipped. My wife kept commenting on how it reminded her of home (in a good way). Location is good, though not always possible to park just outside. Lisa was very responsive and keen to hear our feedback and make suggestions for things to do nearby. Nice little touches, like a bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival; Lisa also came to clean during our stay. The only thing that could have been better was the weather!

    Adam2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Fab property. Really clean, and a short walk into town and the gorgeous park by the river. Was like Narnia in the frost whilst walking the dog in the dark. A great base to explore the area, and many many pubs in Llani.

  • Helpful hosts and comfortable clean home on the edge of a lovely small town. Great woods for a wander or pay with kids literally a stone's throw away and beautiful river similarly close. Highly recommended for stays of any duration.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Suzanne's cosy home. Suzanne welcomed us shortly after arrival and we couldn't have felt better provided for. Everything was clean and warm and we made the most of our evenings by the log burner. The local area offers plenty of natural beauty though we found ourselves perfectly happy making the most of the house & sauna. Thank you Suzanne - we'd love to visit again!

  • What an absolute gem, gorgeous location, so peaceful with the most amazing views, especially from the hot tub. Suzy was an amazing host with great local knowledge and full of useful tips and ideas. I pestered her for weeks leading up to our trip and she always responded quickly and was very helpful. As I expected, from the moment we were greeted to the moment we left she never stopped smiling. Such a positive, happy little host- I’ll definitely be returning

    James2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views and the house was perfect....Suzanne was really helpful and was never far away if we needed anything!! 100% recommended

    Dan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant location with a great walk straight from the door. The house was lovely and the views top notch! Hot tubs and a sauna are the cherry on top. The Elan valley seems hugely underrated so would highly recommend!

    James2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • This really was a home away from home for myself, my partner and our four legged friends! If you are in need of a country escape with endless hiking on your doorstep to then be able to come home to the warmth of a real fire and the peaceful remedy of no hustle and bustle whilst you play a game of cards or read a book; then please, look no further! Suzie was an exceptional host, we felt so welcome we almost felt like we had lived there for years!! The cottage/house had all we needed to make meals etc. Wood was provided for the fire. The bed was the comfiest bed I have slept in! I would advise a car (best way to get there anyway) but because of more remote location just gives you opportunity to explore nearby towns. Snowdonia national park is less than an hour away too. Highly recommend this stay especially if you are hikers or just need to breathe the mountain air. Honestly? We cannot wait to stay here again :) thank you suzie for such a wonderful stay! X

Elan Cottage is a cosy self-catering cottage awarded four stars by Visit Wales. It makes a great base for touring or walking in Mid Wales, with the Elan Valley, market towns of Llanidloes and Rhayader and the Rheidol Valley steam railway nearby.
Part of a conversion of a stone barn built in 1847, Elan Cottage is a fully equipped home-from-home for your visit to Mid Wales.
We are several fields away from out nearest neighbours, and enjoy views of the Cambrian mountains across the upper Wye valley. The nearest village is Llangurig (less than a mile away) with a couple of good pubs and a post office stores.
  • Wye View is located in a gloriously beautiful, rural area of mid-Wales. There are rolling hills, green fields, drystone walls - all the stereotypically gorgeous images of Wales you can imagine. At Elan Cottage, you will have sheep gazing into your kitchen window from a field overlooking the property and plenty of small birds visiting the feeders. Plus, you will, not be able to miss the red kites flying above you. Grace and Adrian, the hosts, are friendly but not intrusive. The cottage is well designed, beautifully decorated and furnished, although some people might be surprised at the downstairs shower room/toilet. It didn't bother me at all. We were especially impressed with the two Chesterfield-style sofas. Every room was a good size and each area of the cottage was squeaky clean, with lovely views from every window. The welcome pack - tea, coffee, milk, sugar, biscuits, bara brith - were much appreciated and the kitchen was very well equipped. The files of information re local places to visit or things to do were extensive. A great deal of thought and work have obviously gone into making Elan Cottage (and, I would assume, the other cottages) a comfortable home from home. We will be back!

  • Thank you Grace - what a perfect place to stay - your attention to detail left us wanting for nothing. We used this lovely cottage to explore the Elan Valley and will certainly recommend Elan Cottage at Wye View to our friends and family. The level of quality was spot on, lovely comfortable beds, nice linen, carpets and towels. Kitchen has everything needed for our 3night stay. We really enjoyed the Vale of Rheidol train to Aberystwyth - spectacular views though the stunning countryside. This was then matched by the scenery and views through the Elan Valley and the 5 reservoirs/dams - another must see for all. Ate at Triangle Inn twice for dinner and Lost Ark cafe for lunch, both recommended. All in all a perfect 3 days despite all the rain In mid August. Will be back for sure.

  • We had perfect 3 day stay in this property, views are incredible, cute cottage, would recommend a stay here !

  • This is a lovely, cozy and spotlessly clean cottage. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. The bedrooms were big, bright and very comfortable. We really appreciated the tea, coffee, sugar & milk and our son loved and ate the complimentary biscuits! The folders that Grace had created on local attractions and restaurants were very useful.

    Amanda2019-05-29T00:00:00Z

Severn Cottage is a cosy self-catering cottage, part of a barn conversion, and awarded four stars by Visit Wales. It makes a great base for touring or walking in Mid Wales, with the Elan Valley, market towns of Llanidloes and Rhayader and the Rheidol Valley steam railway nearby.
Severn Cottage is part of a barn conversion, overlooking the upper Wye Valley. There is an open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen, plus a shower room on the ground floor. Upstairs is given over to a bedroom with a four poster bed and dressing area.
We are several fields away from out nearest neighbours, and enjoy views of the Cambrian mountains across the upper Wye valley. The nearest village is Llangurig (less than a mile away) with a couple of good pubs and a post office stores.
  • Fantastic 2 night stay. Severn cottage had everything you would need- well equipped kitchen, board games, DVDs, books, hair dryer etc. We were very grateful for the small touches such as tea/coffee, makeup wipes and a cosy blanket. Grace was very warm and welcoming, and gave us lots of ideas for places to visit during our stay. I would highly recommend future visitors take a look out at the night sky as the amount of stars you can see is phenomenal.

    Chloe2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a little gem! I came here for a few nights for my birthday and it was fantastic. Grace greeted us when we arrived and gave us local advice based on what we might want to do and had even put together a little book of local sites and maps. The location is perfect for trips to the Elan Valley. Even if you didn’t want to go anywhere you could sit in the small courtyard admiring the view and watching the birds. I couldn’t recommend this property enough and definitely plan to return.

    Owen2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I visited Wye View as a relaxing break away to see in the New Year. We stayed for two nights and were not disappointed after a 5 hour drive to our destination. Adrian and Grace were the perfect hosts, they provided detailed information about the area and things to do and were really helpful when we needed something printed last minute! The cottage itself is gorgeous, a really cute little home from home with everything you could need and finished off with a beautiful four poster bed and lots of helpful finishing touches (including a fully equipped kitchen) The Elan Valley reservoir was a perfect day out to see the views of mid- Wales in all their winter glory, and returning to the cottage after a very cold walk to celebrate the New Year in Wales was the perfect start to 2019.

  • Lovely cottages with helpful and friendly hosts. Really peaceful stay in a beautiful area, the Elan Valley. Particular highlights were the mountain road drive and kite feeding at Bwlch Nant yr Arian. In summer months would be nice to stay out late and star gaze as it's a dark sky area! We enjoyed star spotting through the velux windows of the converted barn cottage.

A 2 bedroom cottage nestling on the easterly slopes of an unspoilt valley. Glyngynwydd is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty amid mountains, hills, lakes and rivers. South of Llanidloes we stand in twelve acres of land which include; woodland, a wildlife pond, meadow, relaxing gardens and our own stream and dingle for our guests to enjoy.

  • We enjoyed 3 nights at this beautiful rural location while visiting the Royal Welsh Show, which was about half an hour away. Amazing views and so peaceful. Friendly family run business. Very hospitable hosts. The cottage had rustic charm, was clean and had all the basic amenities. Loved watching the ducks and chickens wandering round and throwing sticks for Guinnes the family dog. No phone service in the cottage but could get a few bars in the field opposite. WiFi was available and worked well most of the time. I’m sure we will be back to stay in the future.

  • The cottage is cosy, spotlessly clean, has everything a family or couple would need to stay here. Carla and Adam are the perfect hosts ... friendly, helpful and accommodating. The surrounding area of the farm gives you plenty of space for you to walk, sit or relax. Perfect for youngsters to explore too, with the resident dog to accompany you. The dog is so friendly and loves children ... as well as her ball! I would highly recommend a stay here, and it is a place that I would most certainly use again.

  • These cottages are clean, tidy and rustic. Ideal place to stay. Walks in the woods for dogs and play areas for children. Host is very friendly and helpful. I hate the service charge being shown separately, is this an airbnb thing? (first time we have used them). I thought it a little expensive but there were only two of us, so if you are happy to share it is cheaper per person (the cottage we stayed in had one big bedroom to sleep 4).

  • Fantastic to be able to stay again and to enjoy the cottage and beautiful surroundings in a different season. Carla and Adam are great hosts, super friendly and helpful with lots of local knowledge and tips. The cottages are gorgeous, spacious, great design and completely relaxing. Enjoyed meeting the running ducks this time and feeding some orphan lambs. Cannot rate this airbnb experience enough.

  • Lovely location far enough away from civilsation to be quiet and private but close enough not to feel cut off. If you have dogs be careful of the ticks in the woods. They thrive in humid, moist conditions and would like nothing more than to hitch a ride on your pooch. Horrible, dangerous things

  • This was a lovely cottage containing everything we needed for our trip to Wales. The hosts were so friendly and always responded to any of our questions before we arrived on Air B&B and were very approachable if we needed anything during our stay. • If you go through Llanidloes or its surroundings, this accommodation is perfect for one night or more. Rhian is very warm and welcomes you physically. Do not hesitate to ask him how the heaters and the gas fireplace works because we did not succeed and our night was slightly cold. Other than that everything was clean, there is all the necessary equipment and even eggs, cheese and butter at your disposal.

    Lucas2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a gem of a place, ideal location, stylish, well equipped extremely clean. Rhian is such a friendly host.

    Alan2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Well situated in the middle of town. Don’t be put off by the word flat the accommodation is very spacious, very tidy and clean. Rhain is welcoming and puts a few basic items in the fridge ie milk, Cheese and eggs from the farm. Rhain rule is no shoes in the flat to help look after the carpet so remember to pack your slippers or what ever you usually wear at home. I felt very comfortable staying here. The bed was extremely comfortable in the bedroom I used which was located up a flight of stairs. The bedroom was looking over the street. So please be aware that you can hear people voices especially if they are outside the pubs. However it all quickly goes quiet once the pub closes. I would recommend this place to stay and would definitely use the flat again.

  • A fabulous relaxing place on the national cycle route 8/81. It is walking distance to Llanidoes centre, but sufficiently distant to enjoy undisturbed silence at night. The rooms and bathrooms were immaculately clean and really really comfy. There was also a generous and delicious vegan breakfast in the morning, with coffee/tea and locally sourced bread that was amazing. Best of all was Susanne and Steve's warm and welcoming hosting. Excellent communication, tea/coffee and cake on arrival and always making sure our stay was the tops. 10 out of 10 for pretty much everythimg.

  • Carla was an amazing host and her venue was a wonderful place to celebrate mine and my boyfriend joint birthday party with a group of our friends. There was 16 of us all together, however it did not feel crowded at all. Carla was a very accommodating and approachable host and she was willing to help whenever possible. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

  • Fantastic stay. All the cottages were clean and tidy. Hosts were very welcoming. The kids really liked playing in the stream and woods. The barn and the bbq area were great and allowed us all to sit and eat together. Cooking facilities in each of the cottages so easy to satisfy 13 of us. The pictures definitely dont do it justice. The cake was a lovely touch and was very much enjoyed!

    Dave2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • As a friendship group of 11 (3 couples and 5 friends) we would rarely find accommodation that guarantees our rooms to be next door and fit our needs. At Carla and Adam’s bnb, all of our cottages were directly next to each other, the converted stables was a perfect place for us all to gather and spend time together. The online Airbnb listing doesn’t give it enough justice, we were all so impressed by the accommodation. There is plenty of local convenient stores near by and activities are relatively easy to find. We recommend taking a trip to King Arthur's Labyrinth and the small breeds and owl centre, although this was quite a journey out which we fit into our journey home. Our friends said GROUP ADVENTURE! Thanks from us all. And from myself and my partner dean, a huge thanks to Carla and Adam for our lovely stay! We loved every moment and were disappointed to leave! Hopefully we will be returning very soon!

Carla was very helpful beforehand with taxis etc and was very quick to reply to queries. Our family/friends have all said they would definitely stay again!

Would definitely recommend!!

This south facing room has a double bed with a view of the lush green Welsh countryside. There are drawers, a small desk and tea making facilities.
This is a room in our family house we also have a market garden 1.5 miles away. We have many foreign students stay with us both at the house and on our land to work and learn agroecological farming. We all eat together usually at the land, visitors are welcome to join us for meals (for a donation).
This is a rural area, very quite. No problem with parking, totally safe. Great for walking, cycling and star gazing.
  • Emma and Dave are amazingly helpful and friendly. Their home is about 5km up a beautiful valley from Llanidloes. We stopped on route cycling between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury on the national cycleway 81. Their home was the perfect halfway haven for a good night's sleep. Great facilities, wonderful fresh eggs for breakfast and friendly advice and conversation were the highlights of a lovely stay. The view from the bedroom window is not to be missed! Many thanks Stu and May

You are welcome to bring your own mountain bikes, motor bikes, off road vehicles where you can go and enjoy the stunning views at your own leisure, or if you just want to chill, and sit out on the veranda with your glass of wine!! to watch the magnificent birds and wildlife go about their very busy lives. you are now, also able to hire a hot tub if you so desired at an extra cost from a little company in our local market town, they come out the day before you arrive set it all up for you to jump in on your arrival ..Please note.... the hideaway ranch is situated in the beautiful, countryside, there is no wi fi and you may find your phone signals are limited in areas, but the best of it is that you only need to go 10 mins down the road and you are back into (URL HIDDEN) you have the best of both worlds.. If you find that the dates you require for your break, have already gone The Hideaway Ranch does have two further sister properties " Hide Away House" Rhayader which has installed .. A Red Cedar Wood Far Infared Saunas well as its own log burner and hottub.. it sleeps up to 8 people.. and also The Hide Away Sunrise Sunset yurt which is also with Airbnb and is situated in the same 400 acre Estate..with its own log burner and hottub
Rhayader is a little market town in MID wales ,we think is an unfound area, we have the stunning Elan Valley Dams on our doorstep , where you can go pony treking, mountain biking, walking, fishing, canoeing off roading nature trials and activities for the children to learn about the countrysides of mid wales .. watch the red kites feeding without the hustle and bustle of too many people.. It is a must place to visit, with the little quaint 1600 c country inns, for those lovely Welsh Black Steaks and welsh lamb cutlets locally sourced with a pint of the real welsh ales xx
  • Suzanne is such a lovely host! Beautiful place and surroundings. Helped us out, being in on the surprise birthday! Thanks so much x

  • It was my second stay at Suzies place, and it was just as good, if not better than last time. The views as always were outstanding, even with the random weather conditions. The layout of the ranch had changed since last time, but worked well. No Wi-Fi, but Vodafones network was strong. Three's network was completely useless, couldn't even get a text through. Would 100% recommend to anyone else!

  • Peaceful, beautiful surroundings. A real chance to get away from it all. X

  • Honestly had the most gorgeous stay here, myself and my friends (and our dogs!) adored our time at the hideaway and we all feel the host went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. The stunning views were indescribable and we had some great walks. Our days were made even better by being able to kick back and relax in the lovely big hot tub which was super easy to work. The place felt so cosy, with an abundance of little touches that made us feel so at home. Thank you so much Suzanne, we could not recommend you more!

  • What a wonderful place to stay. I rented the Ranch for a surprise trip for my boyfriends birthday. I highly suggest hiring the hot tub too because it was such a great touch! The drive up to the ranch through the lane was a little hairy in my Mini (full car), but it made it! So just have a little faith and rev that engine. That said - we did choose to come when Storm Dennis was 'a raging so that added to the atmosphere too! Suzanne is such a great host, came to show us around and provided advise on spots to visit. You'll need a car to go into the villages but there are 400 acres to walk from the Ranch so you have plenty of AMAZING and I truly mean incredible views. Take a camera or a flask of tea and just bask in the beauty that you are surrounded by. You won't be disappointed. My only note of warning - if it rains, bring some games with you if you don't want to go outside in the wet. TV is not a selling point. But do not let that stop you from booking an adventure here! Highly recommend!

  • Stunning location with the most homely feeling ranch I have ever stayed in. Even have a beautiful view from the hot tub! Can't reccomend this place enough!

    Becky2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful stay and lovely cabin! We stayed for one night and would have loved to stay for more. Suzie is amazing and accommodating and gave us such a warm welcome with great tips for food and the local area. The hot tub is a plus and was great on a cold winters night. We can’t wait to stay in the summer!! Thank you!! Love Rob, Charlotte & puppies. 🐶

  • Me and my Girlfriend booked a last minute short break here after managing to schedule some time off together. I'd definitely recommend a visit if you're looking for somewhere out of the way to stay for a couple of days. Our host was really friendly and the cabin was clean with everything you could need for a short stay.

A cosy converted railway goods wagon (c.1900) with a stunning view over our organic farm and uninhabited valleys beyond. You can use the basic kitchen in your wagon or use the converted bus kitchen -there are loos and showers in the farmyard. This farm is host to a community of volunteers from all over the world and you will be welcome to get involved in our way of life - close to land and seasons, or enjoy seclusion in a place that radiates peace and vitality with unpolluted night skies.
The farm is gloriously peaceful - no traffic sounds out here. If you ascend the hill behind us you can see across to Snowdonia and the Shropshire hills. Good for those who want space and freedom and the simple things of life - like a fire to cook on and stars overhead. We are involved in cathedral archaeology, sheep farming, stone sculpting, creating a working stone age farm, traditional crafts, natural building, tanning, woodland management, cheesemaking ...........and much more!
This is one of the least populated areas of the UK. The farm is set in steep rolling uplands where sheep are the main economy. The friendly market town of Llanidloes is just four miles away - you can buy most of your basics there and there is a selection of pubs/eating places.
  • Frances’ farm is a beautiful farm and certainly in the countryside, if you are lucky enough to have a clear night you have to pop out to look at the stars. Frances has lots of interesting workshops and projects going on and she was lovely when showing us around on arrival. We only stayed one night but left like we had been away a week and will definitely be back another day.

  • Fantastic host, checked on us twice due to the rain! such a lovely setting, truly beautiful and warm and we had a fantastic meal in Llanidloes pub The Angel inn.

  • Cosy, comfy and certainly in the countryside. :-) Beautiful setting.

    Stuart2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely in awe of the charm this place has, so stunning, huge credit to the family and volunteers; the wildlife and area is unreal! Can’t thank you enough for allowing us to share your space, and to witness the beauty you have worked so hard to build! Wish we didn’t have to leave, look forward to coming again ☺️

    Nicola2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for having us! After a long day on the road, we were blessed with such a beautiful setting and crazy comfy bed! It was so very much appreciated. Wish we could have stayed and enjoyed longer. Highly recommended. Thanks, again.

  • We visited Llanidloes for a charity tattoo conventions and decided to stay on the farm after all the accommodation in town was booked up - and I am so glad we ended up here! The railway carriage is a perfect getaway - beautiful views, peaceful and really cosy. Fern made us feel really welcome and showed us around the farm. The atmosphere is completely relaxed and friendly. There is a basic kitchen in the carriage but we prepared our meals in the well equipped bus. Would definitely recommend this place and we are looking forward to coming back when we can spend more time enjoying the breath-taking countryside. It takes just under an hour to stroll into town where there are plenty of shops and pubs if you fancy a change from the farm.

  • What a sweet spot! Gorgeous views, cozy cabin, great place to relax and unwind - we’re just sorry we couldn’t stay longer! If you have mobility issues or need a bathroom near your sleeping space, this may not be the place but if you don’t mind walking, it’s a special experience to be at Old Chapel Farm!

    Keshira HaLev2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • The photos of the wagon don’t give it enough credit. Very cosy space, perfect for an off the grid romantic getaway. The bed is incredibly comfortable!

Our place is 1 mile out of Llanidloes, an area with much to offer - the sea, the hills, the Elan valley, CAT, close to Hafren forest the source of the Severn, Severn way cycle routes 8 and 81. Elan valley within easy driving, steam railways at Welshpool & Devils bridge. You’ll love our place because we can see the stars and there's hardly any traffic. Our place is good for vegetarians, vegans, couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers, walkers bikers and cyclists.
We have 2 rooms, 1 double with ensuite, and twin room with adjoining bathroom. On the cooler evenings sitting by the log burner is a pleasant relaxing way to end the day. Or you can enjoy the sitting space within your room. Clear nights reveal so many stars to gaze at in the peaceful countryside. We can offer vegan / vegetarian evening meals with prior notice. Although we feel the space isn't suitable for young children because of the wood burner we do have a travel cot for young babies.
We live near the River Severn and can just step out of our gate into the countryside where there are many walks some more strenuous than others. Aberystwyth is 30 miles away, CAT about the same. Hafren forest just 5 miles up the valley as well as the Elan valley where there are cycle paths around the lakes and dams. There are a couple of steam railways within easy reach.
  • Excellent location and lovely rooms very well equipped. Off road parking, delicious breakfasts and very hospitable hosts who made our stay perfect. Highly recommended.

  • Absolute gem of an airbnb. We didn’t feel like guests, we felt like loved family members. A really lovely couple, with interesting and engaging conversation. Outstanding hospitality; they couldn’t do enough to help, even helped us clean our bikes and shoes. The house was spotless and homely, excellent quiet location. A beautiful and very calm and friendly dog. Five star stay!

  • A really lovely and comfortable room a short way from Llanidloes. It was perfect for us because, although a short way from town it is right alongside Sustrans cycling route 8, which we were following. Susanne an Steve were brilliant hosts and looked after us extremely well, providing us with a prearranged evening meal and an early breakfast. We very much enjoyed their company while we were there.

With panoramic and utterly serene views over thickly wooded valleys and rolling green hills of Mid-Wales. Set in a huge, totally secluded garden and natural woodland, with babbling stream and waterfalls feeding 5 delightful pools; a perfect place for contemplation and finding a new perspective. Birdsong is virtually all you will hear! Caravan, or 2 sunny rooms with kitchenette and bathroom. Conservatory sometimes available. 14 benches/hanging benches, half mile of paths, 2 person hammock.
You can choose between the 3 rooms in the house, or the caravan. The Conservatory is sometimes also included. Accommodation is for non-smokers only or those who only smoke outside by prior agreement. In the house, for safety reasons I can only accept children who are infants, or a minimum age of 5. Toddlers and children under 5 cannot be accepted. Although possible to sleep 2 adults and 2 children, the maximum adults only recommended for the size of the accommodation is 3. If you are planning on 4 adults, please read carefully the section below “Sleeping Arrangements” and if acceptable let me know. We are situated in one of the most beautiful areas of Mid Wales, 2 miles from the small, attractive and historic town of Llanidloes in SY18 6JR. The town has a thriving arts and crafts community, and is only 25 minutes drive from the Centre for Alternative Technology on the coast. Nearby is the spectacular and tallest waterfall in England and Wales! Copy and paste this link:- http://www.pistyllrhaeadr.co.uk/waterfall.html Also nearby is Lake Vyrnwy Nature Reserve, 2 red kite feeding centres, and horse riding can be booked only half a mile away. Also nearby are places for golfing, swimming, bowling, tennis, squash, and sailing and angling (rainbow and brown trout) in the idyllic setting of Lake Clywedog, a haven for rare and migratory birds. For fishing, Copy and paste these 2 links:- http://www.clywedogtroutfishing.co.uk/ http://www.fishandfly.co.uk/jbedit1199.html Despite its small size, Llanidloes offers an organic fruit and vegetable shop, a vegetarian restaurant, as well as a health food shop, The surrounding area is a special attraction for walkers because of the sheer variety of scenery, with its many large lakes and reservoirs, rivers and rolling hills. Nearby is the most spectacular section of Offa's Dyke as well as Glyndwr's Way and Hafren Forest, with the famous walk to the source of the River Severn. Also nearby is the spectacular Elan Valley with its 4 reservoirs and river walks, and you can hire a bike in nearby Rhayader to enjoy the quiet lanes and paths in the Elan Valley area. Shopping might well need the local taxi service, with Llanidloes being 2 miles. (although bike and steep hills would be possible!) National Express coaches travel from London via Birmingham to Llanidloes and I can arrange to pick you up and take you back for a surcharge of £10. There is no public transport between here and Llanidloes, which is a 2 mile walk. Getting a free lift from me whilst you are here to Llanidloes or Newtown will be uncertain. However, if you arrive before 4.30 pm, I can divert via Llanidloes so that you can do shopping, and this is charged at £10 for the additional time and travel. Here is a site with full guidance to public transport to and from Llanidloes itself. Copy and paste this link:- http://www.llanidloes.com/travel_llanidloes/ Copy and paste the link below for the only local car hire company:- http://www.carhirenewtown.co.uk/ There is only 1 local taxi service:- Paul Bennett 01686 68 98 68 OR 412 193 OR 07752 345 830 To take you into Llanidloes, the charge would be £4 - £5 and of course the same to bring you back. You could walk in (mostly downhill) and just take the taxi back. At the end of a one-mile no-through-road, birdsong is often all you will hear from the house! (Around 10 cars pass per day) Guided walks, and also a low cost "chauffeur" drop-off and collect service are available. Reflexology, massage, sound healing, Reiki, cranio-sacral work and other therapies can be booked for £35/session with excellent local therapists, who will visit the house. Copy and paste this link:- http://www.holistictherapistswales.org/ Within the sheltered 2-acre garden, there are half a mile of paths, and a choice of 14 benches (including 4 hanging benches) positioned at the best viewpoints and in totally secluded places. It is so sheltered, that even on a windy day, there are many places where there is almost no air movement! There is a canvass hanging chair you can attach to your choice of 3 suspension points on trees for re-capturing the joy and relaxation normally reserved for children! You can either sit fully inside it, cross legged, or use your feet on the ground to keep it swinging. If you prefer a more horizontal position, try the beautifully designed 4 metre long "double-hammock", designed to hold either one or two people. It is completely stabilised and simply cannot tip you out. It is next to the pool with the waterfalls, which you look onto facing one way. Facing the other way on the hammock, you see the hills and the huge beech tree above you. You have 2 choices of accommodation; the house, or the caravan. THE HOUSE:- Accommodation in the house consists of a large (SHARED WITH ME) hallway opening into 3 rooms. A good-sized bathroom (7' 9" square = 2.35 metres), the bed-sitting room with picture windows (12' x 10' 4" = 3.68 x 3.15 metres with built-in wardrobe), and the living room with kitchenette and huge picture windows (13' 1" x 8' = 4.0 x 2.44 metres with alcoved cooking area), and offering a large sofabed which opens into a king-size bed if 2 separate bedrooms are needed. Sleeping arrangements:- Although possible to sleep 2 adults and 2 children, the maximum adults only for the size of the accommodation is 3. In the Bed-sitting room:- Double bed plus, if wanted firm-ish futon single sofa bed which 3’ 3” (1 metre) wide In the Living room:- King size sofa bed, or use as a single without extending, or 2 singles using the extra, very comfortable, self-inflating air bed on legs. Using 2 singles, or the sofa bed extended, will mean very restricted space except to the kitchenette area, until the airbed is deflated and stored in the bathroom. You will have to balance this possible inconvenience with the many benefits on offer, as well as the low prices compared with other accommodation. THE CARAVAN:- You also have the choice of a 20 foot caravan with separate toilet and shower compartments, instant hot water, silent warm-blown fresh-air heating, and large, decking area with table and chairs. There is a TV/DVD, radio, Hi-Fi CD player, microwave, full size fridge/freezer, mains sockets, and gas cooker with oven, grill and 4 rings. You look out onto the lowest pool and stream, and are only 6 metres away. You also have a view of the waterfall into the pool above (which can be flood-lit after dark), and the very mature forest. The caravan and decking area capture the early and mid morning sun. There is a choice of either 2 single beds or large double, with comfortable sprung mattress, as well as another single bed with optional bunk bed above. There is wired (ethernet cable) or Wi Fi internet connection. IN THE HOUSE:- There is a unique, categorised library of 500 books on all types of healing and health issues, as well as personal and spiritual development, including 35 on the subject of discovering your purpose, vocation and ideal work... and making a happy living from it! Book shelves are in the hallway, living room and bed-sitting room. Please see the attached catalogue for the range of subjects. The bed-sitting room offers a very comfortable double bed (with memory foam topper) with a good, bright bed-reading light, a small built-in wardrobe, a hanging chair if requested, a rocking chair (removed on request) and antique writing bureau with drawers below. There is also an electric, "simulated log burner" which is accepted to be such a realistic effect for flames and smoke, it is difficult to tell from the real thing. It has selectable flames and "smoke" only, or 1 kilowatt/2 kilowatt thermostatic quiet fan heater. There is a wired internet connection, and also Wi Fi at agreed times A sofa is sited directly in front of the huge window, capturing often spectacular sunrises and sunlight until mid-day. The sky is regularly decorated with the aerial acrobatics of buzzards, and sometimes red kites or swallows. In fact, you can hear, and see many bird species from as close as 2 metres as they visit bird feeders which hang in front of the window. (robin, blackbird, thrush, yellowhammer, great tit, coal tit, blue tit, chaffinch, many other finches including the greenfinch and stunning goldfinch and even nuthatch and greater spotted woodpecker) There is a large bathroom with shower, and 3 bar radiant heater. There is a luxury, long and deep bath from where you have an inspiring view of the huge Douglas firs. The sitting room contains a very fully equipped kitchenette, including 2 ring hotplate with oven and grill, coffee grinder, microwave, extractor hood and large fridge with 4 star freezer compartment. There is a large drop leaf table with four fold-up chairs stored inside. The sofabed opens into a King size bed for two separate bedrooms. There is a Hi-Fi system for CD's and even the old cassette tapes. There is a magnetic, vibratory foot spa which can be used with or without hot water. There is only a weak signal for the EE mobile phone network. For other networks, you will need to get close to the local village. In the house, the 21” TV is connected to Sky. The caravan has a 22” TV and DVD with Freesat range of 145 stations. The view from the huge living room picture windows looks upwards across wild pasture and flowers, with rhododendrons and the woodland above, including the 6 towering Douglas firs. It receives the late afternoon and evening sun and one window opens to receive the sun directly on your skin, The 3-roomed accommodation is a conversion of one end of my large bungalow and you have 2 choices... 1) For the quoted prices, share the front door and hallway with me so I can get into, and out of, my end of the bungalow easily, and usually only once each day. 2) For £4/night extra, (paid on arrival) you can have exclusive use of the front door/hallway and I will access my end of the bungalow via the conservatory. This involves me using a torch and a few hundred yards muddy path in all weathers, and so is not automatically offered to you. You can receive a plan showing how your 3 rooms all open into the hallway. You can also see that my Living Room and Office open into the hallway. HOWEVER, the tiny part of the hallway I use to move from my Living Room to the Office a few times each day is completely screened off with a floor to ceiling curtain as shown on the plan. So we will not see each other (unless you opt for the shared front door). I open and close the doors extremely quietly and so it’s very unlikely you would hear me. You can leave shoes and outer clothes etc. in the hallway. Of course, you have exclusive use of the bathroom. There are internal bolts on the doors to your 3 rooms. There is an advantage to having the owner in the same building. If you have any questions or problems, I am there to deal with them. I am a very quiet person and so you wouldn't hear any noise, TV or music from me. The conservatory is sometimes available as a delightful extra room, whether you are renting the caravan or the 3 rooms in the house. It also includes exclusive (instead of non-exclusive) use of the surrounding part of the garden, including the wooden bench and swinging bench looking out onto the panoramic views of the hills and woodlands. Please ask for pictures if you want to see the interior and the beautiful setting of the Conservatory •Captures morning and afternoon sun •Can sunbathe through the south-facing open windows •2 sun lounger chairs directly outside on patio (VERY sheltered from any wind) •Complete privacy •Views in 3 directions... south to the three 100 year old copper beeches, east to the rolling hills and woods and west to the 6 towering Douglas firs •Stargaze or moon gaze in 3 directions, with the comfort of the heater •2 large opening windows (and door) so very rarely gets too hot •Very comfortable rocking/rotating armchair •2 basketwork chairs and lots of cushions •4th chair under drop-leaf table •Heater for colder evenings or Winter As this is a very peaceful, quiet place, if you would not be happy to be reasonably quiet in the hallway after 11 p.m., the caravan would be the best choice. You can walk directly onto the hills from the top of the garden and enjoy wonderful panoramic views. Otherwise, you can choose more level walks from the lane, passing rare breed sheep and angora goats.
We are situated at the end of a dead end lane in one of the most beautiful areas of Mid Wales, 2 miles from the small, attractive and historic town of Llanidloes.
  • We had a wonderful week at The Woodlands. The waterfalls and pools in the woodland garden were quite spectacular after the heavy rains and there were plenty of places to sit and listen to the birdsong . Life became slower and very peaceful. I particularly loved the view from the bedroom window of the sunrise over the hills and the flocks of birds on the bird tables, and the antics of the cheeky squirrels. There is very little light pollution so the night skies were amazing. There is very little traffic which made walking the country lanes very relaxing. There are beautiful hills to climb and little towns to visit ( Lllanidloes has a great vegan restaurant with great apricot flapjack! Rhayader and the Elan Valley are a short drive away). The house was very warm and cozy, a lovely quiet place to come home to after a long walk. Alan was very welcoming and helpful, and although we hardly saw him once we were settled in, it was good to know that he was just nextdoor. Thankyou Alan for sharing your magical woodland garden ( and your happy bird sanctuary), hope to stay again soon.

  • Alan has a magical garden, amazing views and a wonderfully quiet location. Alan will be calm and thorough. He will explain everything so that you will be in no doubt how to enjoy your break in his ecohouse. His peaceful home and garden will slow you down and drop all your stress away. Alan is courteous, welcoming, and such a tolerant host. there were two humans and one friendly black dog in our group and you know, I really don't know who had the most enjoyable time. I loved it all

  • This is a magical location, the house set in a beautiful woodlands. We loved the lack of phone signal and requested no Wi-Fi. The accommodation is basic, but clean and compact. Alan was very kind and hospitable, and non-intrusive. The sound of birds, trees and water was so peaceful. We reserved the table tennis table and loved playing amidst spectacular surroundings.

  • Alan's place is from a fairy tale! I had an amazing time exploring his magical garden and the endless nearby nature walks. This place is an amazing place is escape from your busy lives and connect with yourself and nature. It is very inspirational and tranquil. Looking out of the bedroom window is breathtaking whether it's the sun set or the beautiful moon with the many varieties of animals. Make use of the many book cases of powerful knowledge! Alan was always very happy to help and gave me many beautiful places to visit nearby. I would definitely recommend this place and can't wait to come back. Thank you again Alan :)

  • I loved staying at Alan’s place, it’s truly magical, with a beautiful warm vibe to it- and Alan is an outstanding host, highly considerate, discrete, kind and caring. I think this place is ideal for a retreat, whether short or long-term; the garden with its pools and multiple hidden benches is a proper gem (to get lost in!) and there are some great local walks available too. I can’t recommend it enough and hope to come back some time soon.

  • We stayed two nights, on the way to Pendine and back again, and it was great. Really friendly people, good clean accommodation, good range of tasty beer. We didn't eat there, so can't comment on the food, but recommended in all other ways.

1 of 5 self catering cottages. Great for walking, fishing, biking or simply getting away from it all. Situated 2 miles from the beautiful market town of Llanidloes where you will find supermarkets, pubs restaurants and a swimming pool.
Nestling on the easterly slopes of an unspoilt valley, Glyngynwydd is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty amid mountains, hills, lakes and rivers. South of Llanidloes we stand in twelve acres of land which include; woodland, a wildlife pond, meadow, relaxing gardens and our own stream and dingle for our guests to enjoy.
Glyngynwydd has been listed in local records as a "township" since early times and now consists of a traditional 17th century farmhouse, surrounded by a cluster of farm buildings of various ages, some of which have been sympathetically converted to provide five self-contained holiday cottages.
  • We had an absolutely lovely weekend here. Carla and her family are incredible hosts and the cottage is incredibly cosy. It was the perfect weekend getaway. Would definitely recommend booking and we are already planning when we can come again!

  • We really enjoyed our stay. The kids loved exploring the outdoor areas and were excited about all the animals, especially Guinness the dog. Carla and her partner were friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed.

  • One of the best stays we’ve had! (We have rented a lot through air Bnb) The place was clean, lovely, safe, cosy and well presented. Carla is an amazing host, very caring, responds quickly and is always there for any concerns at any time. My son is three and he just couldn’t wait to get back to the cottage. He didn’t even want to come home! I’d strongly recommend staying here! You will not regret it.

  • We had a lovely stay at Ty Isaf. With everything we needed. Lovely extras of fresh flowers and hot water bottles (very handy in the snowy spell!) The Cottage was lovely and cosy on arrival despite the freezing conditions. Beautiful surroundings, only sad to have to leave to go back to work! Thanks for having us Carla!

  • Great property with plenty of room. Fully fitted kitchen and very comfortable bedrooms. Outdoor space is beautiful, our kids enjoyed the footy/ rugby goal area and checking on the various animals [including the little lamb!!). Guinness the dog is very friendly.

  • Lovely place to stay. The accommodation was lovely and clean and it was nice to have the fire lit for our late arrival on a snowy evening. Everything was clean and in working order and we would certainly consider staying again. This would be a great place for larger groups to book all of the cottages and have some time away together but still have their own space.
