  • Absolutely beautiful location, myself and my boyfriend felt so relaxed after our stay. The cabins are so well looked after Haf should be very proud. I would totally recommend.

  • The pods are super cosy and really cute, a perfect getaway for couples. Haf is a great host and the hot tub was already warmed up for us by the time we arrived. Make sure you go prepared as it's a few miles to any shops. The kitchen is really well equipped and the bed is super comfy so it really is like a home away from home. Can't wait to come back here again!

    Janine2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay with lovely hosts. Would highly recommend these pods as a break to anyone, we had a great stay!

    Lauren2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Haf’s for three nights and we loved every second. Haf had the place all clean and lovely homey touches. We did go in winter but still made some use of the hot tub. It was the best place to go and get away from everything. Bring plenty of food and you will be fine to bunker away in the cold weather. We will most definitely be back to see how beautiful it is in the summer.

    Chloe2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great little pod, we went for the optional hot tub which was well worth it. The pod is a nice cosy little space that was great for 2 and our small dog, we only stayed for 1 night. Host was excellent and met us at the entrance for a quick show around and then we were left to enjoy. Thanks.

    Jamie2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Haf’s Rainbow Pods are the perfect getaway. Haf is a brilliant and accommodating host and we had everything we needed/wanted. The pods themselves are lovely, cosy and extremely well built. The hot tub was amazing and even in December weather we had a really chilled night and morning enjoying the view of the welsh countryside. Would totally recommend. Great location 30 mins from lake Vernwy which is a great walking/sightseeing spot. Thanks Haf!

    Alicia2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect stay! Can't recommend enough, so peaceful and the perfect location. Haf was very welcoming and couldnt do enough for us. We will definitely be back :-) thanks Haf!

    Jessica2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • On the day of arrival Haf text me directions and upon arrival we were greeted by Haf with a lovely warm welcome. Haf took us around to the pod and showed us how everything worked. She also brought around some more logs for us for the hot tub and fire. Haf had already set up the hot tub for us which was very lovely and nice and warm for us to jump straight into. Everything about the place was very relaxing from the scenery to the fairy lights near the hot tub. The pod itself is absolutely beautiful and extremely clean. It was a last minute booking for my partners 30th birthday he enjoyed it so much, we will be back very shortly and have already told lots of family and friends about the place.

  • Fantastic place and fantastic host, we had the best stay and will definitely visit again!

    Anna2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Haf was a great host, stayed at the rainbow pods this past weekend when storm Dennis hit and Haf was great in advising us a route to avoid road closures, also responded quick to messages and advised us on a local pub! The pod itself was great, we had also opted for the hot tub which was lovely, just a shame the weather didn’t allow us to spend much time in it! Overall a great stay and would love to come back in the summer!

    Holly2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Would recommend. Quirky place, clean and tidy and hot tub was great.

    Steve2019-12-31T00:00:00Z

  • Haf’s rainbow pod is an amazing place to stay for a quiet weekend away. The pod itself is beautiful, so cute inside & has everything you need for a great stay! The wood fired hot tub was amazing addition. The perfect place for a peaceful weekend with friends ☺️

    Laura2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We’ve just returned from the Rainbow Pod today.. what can I say! It was just amazing. The most gorgeous location and pod which had every home comfort you could need. Hubby and I stayed for one night but we could have gladly moved in! It has everything you need for a cosy night away. We loved being able to open the doors and look out over the valley. The hot tub was brilliant, even though it’s November we spent our evening in it looking at the stars and chatting. The heating in the pod was great too and was lovely and warm to go back into. Just perfect. Thank you Haf, we’ll definitely be back soon!!

  • We stayed for 4 nights, it was a lovely place. We cooked a lot, the kitchen was really good, has everything. It’s a home away from home. The beds were comfy and it was clean. We are from the city so it was nice to be in touch with the nature again. It was a lovely stay. Thanks Marcus.

  • A beautiful house in a beautiful setting, really peaceful. Lovely little towns nearby if you fancy coffee and a cake or a stroll around a church. If you go during winter bring some logs with you or buy en route for the wood burning stove - this made the house really cosy. Amazing cooker and plenty of crockery for guests. Would 100% stay again!

    Molly2019-12-08T00:00:00Z

  • I stayed with Clive and Pauline for the week as a student on placement. They are absolutely lovely people and it really felt like I was staying with friends/family. In their own words, "You live here now!" The room is great and the breakfasts are fantastic! Am looking forward to my stay next week!

Clive has all the info on great places to eat and it is just a walk to the Welshpool & Llanfair light railway (not to be missed)! Llanfair is a delightful village with plenty of walks along the river and valley.

A traditional Welsh cottage nestled in a small Welsh village a short distance from a town. The cottage has parking, an open fire in the lounge surrounded by a traditional slate fireplace, exposed beams but at a 2m height, so plenty of headroom, a log effect burner in a beamed fireplace in the kitchen and bags of character. Opposite the cottage is a nature walk in the woods down to the river Banwy. Ideal for fishing or dog walks as pets are very welcome.
The cottage has a staircase to two bedrooms and a bathroom. Toilet facilities are only available upstairs. The kitchen comes with a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, kettle, microwave, double oven and four ring hob. Tea towels are provided.
This quiet Welsh village has a Spar, 3 pubs, a hairdressers, café and convenience store. If you want to see a man in a brown coat selling kitchen ware to DIY tools the old fashion way, then the convenience store is where you'll find him.
  • Lovely little cottage - warm and welcoming - perfect for a few days away.

    Selina2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little cottage, car park was a bit small for our car. Area is beautiful and had a lovely walk around the town. No washing machine or hairdryers but other than that was a great stay.

Run on permaculture principles, Tanyfron Housing Co-operative is home to two families and is situated on a wooded site overlooking the Vyrnwy Valley. We are offering a double room, with a view across the valley
Very important - Please Read! There is absolutely no smoking allowed on-site at Tan y fron, no perfumes, deoderants, aerosols, as we have two residents who have chronic chest conditions. Our accommodation is extremely basic. There is no shower available at the moment as that part of the house is being renovated, and the toilet, whilst inside, is a very basic compost toilet. There is no running water available, but there is a basin for washing and we can provide hot water in a jug for you and cold water so you can clean your teeth. We also provide towels and bed linen. Sorry, but we do not provide any meals. If you are interested in permaculture and living lightly on the land, please consider coming to stay. If you just want somewhere to rest for the night, then this is also the place for you. There are areas of the property where guests, for their own safety, will not be allowed to access. We welcome dogs by arrangement.
We are based in the Vyrnwy river valley - a beautiful part of Powys popular with walkers, cyclists and visitors from all over the world. We are twenty minutes away from the famous Pistyll Rheaedre waterfall, the highest fall in Wales nestled in the mystical Berwyn mountains; the canal and steam railway at Welshpool is fifteen minutes away and Lake Vyrnwy is around thirty minutes.
  • Really lovely setting and the hosts were so incredibly welcoming and friendly. The place was also really good value, no shower at the moment and a composting loo (it didn't smell at all) but it had everything else you'd expect from any other Airbnb. We'd definitely stay again if we're in the area.

    Pippa2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great room, great bed, amazing bunch of guys that run the place, amazing location for walks, sightseeing, (I went to lake Vrnwy for the day) pub 2 miles up the road. Would highly recommend this place for getting your head down after a long day. Although read the description in the advert as this lovely place will not be for everyone. Will definitely be going back for a short break again.

    Mark2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great value place to stay, with beautiful guest room and a lovely bed. We enjoyed meeting our hosts. This is a different experience from most airbnbs: the description is accurate, read it before booking!

Overlooking fields with Welsh mountain sheep quietly grazing in front of the Berwyn mountains, cozy cabin offers sanctuary & rest in a countryside location. Well behaved pets welcome. Small kitchen/eating area joins living room, shower room, double bedroom, parking space.
Warm log cabin with double room, kitchen/eating area, large shower room, TV, outside covered veranda with seating and table. Parking space. Lovely hill walking location with rarely trod paths. Please note this is a farming area so sheep, cows and horses and dogs all live and work within the area. Owls also hoot at night in the woods. It is dark here in winter as there are no streetlights - advantage if you are star gazing, but you will need a torch if you are going for a walk
Beautiful walking, riding, cycling country. Set in the rarely walked Berwyn mountains. The longest waterfall in Wales. Close to snowdonia national park. Both beautiful lakes Vyrnwy and Bala are a close drive with walking, water sports and good cafés and restaurants. Close to Chester and Shrewsbury with lovely old buildings, theatre, races and shopping. Nearest town is the quaint border town of Oswestry with Iron Age fort, some fantastic eateries and independent shops. Wonderful bridle ways locally and many tracks suitable for mountain biking as well as walkers and riders.
  • Warm and cozy in stunning location Everything you need under one roof.

    Amanda2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely cosy cabin and completely private. Very quiet, peaceful area and nice extra touches. Visit to local waterfall well worth it. Was raining our whole stay and high winds due to storm Dennis but was nice and warm inside and still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Was an added bonus that there is a secure outside patio area where you can let the dogs out without having to worry about putting them on a lead. Thanks again will definately recommend to family and friends.

  • A lovely location and great cabin for a quiet getaway. Fantastically placed for walks/hikes in the Welsh countryside. Very warm and cosy cabin with everything you'd need for a weekend away. Easy to find just off the main road, plenty of parking and private, quiet access.

  • Cosy Christmas Cabin in the Clouds We had a very enjoyable stay in the cabin for 5 nights over Christmas. It was cosy (heaters and extra blankets, although not needed as the cabin keeps the heat in), very clean, with everything we needed to cook, relax in the living space, with a comfy bed and the large, hot shower was great too. Local maps and tourist leaflets helped us plan our days exploring due to the lack of WiFi, and we enjoyed the freedom of being cut off. We arrived late on Christmas Eve, directions and check-in all straightforward. Gwennan had decorated the cabin and left us some homemade mince pies as a warm welcome. They also dropped by to make sure we had everything we needed during the stay which was appreciated. Local highlights were the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall and walking to the top across to the ridge above the lake, stunning views, we also had a good walk around Lake Vyrnwy in the mist on the opposite bank to the tower. We ate at The Hand at Llanarmon and highly recommended, roaring fires, quality food and the owners were very friendly. Our only watch outs were - flip the hot water switch, we missed it arriving late on the first night, and beware of stubbing toes on the door frame to the bedroom, we both learnt fast! Great location and one of our best air bnb stays, we’d love to come back in the summer for longer days to explore the area more.

  • My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay here. Really cosy and warm cabin for December, in a beautiful location. Gwennan was a great host, with really easy communication and check in.

  • Mandy and her husband Derek ares such incredible hosts. When I arrived, she had tea with a selection of her own homemade cakes ready. The house was warm throughout (not all AirBnB's I stayed at were), and Mandy urged me to use the lounge we call it the living room in the US) to watch TV or to hang out. They answered so many of my questions about England, about the area, etc. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom/shower amenities perfect. This is located in a very quiet neighborhood. However, there are lots of walking trails nearby that Mandy can recommend. I had a perfect experience there!

  • Excellent place to stay, clean and you're made very welcome into their home. Would definitely be booking again.

  • What a wonderful couple! They treat you like family. Nothing is too much trouble. So kind - to everyone! There were other people there too and they treated them just the same. Lovely location too - quiet but not totally isolated. Definitely recommended! Thank you so much, Mandy & Derek!!

  • Mandy and Derek have a wonderful home tucked away in the Welsh countryside. They are both outstanding hosts who are naturally hospitable and thoroughly pleasant. I have stayed here for work and have enjoyed the comfortable, clean room and food that has been provided as well as the company. I'm especially grateful for their help in drying out my wet work kit after a very rainy day. I'd thoroughly recommend staying here for holiday making or for work. Thanks!

    Lewis2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Mandy and Derek are outstanding hosts. They are not only nice, they go the extra mile to make you feel at home. They even lent us a travel cot and a baby bath for our little one. We definitely recommend this Airbnb. We hope to come back someday.

Three log cabins (Sleep 2 in each) TV in both. Wc / Washroom. One outdoor shower and a outdoor bath. Log burning Finnish Sauna. Treehouse sleps two persons. We also an out door bbq dining area.Magnificent views over the hills and down to the river. Only 1 mile from the famous Lake Vyrnwy and Dam.
  • If you like a quirky place to stay then you will love this. A series of wooden cabins and tree house, it is certainly not a conventional holiday let. But we loved it and will definitely come back again. Be aware this is a little like a mixture of normal b&b and camping. Stuart is a very friendly and helpful host and communication was very easy. A highlight for us was the bath with an unhindered view of the river (ie no wall or window....it just looks out over the river.) You may think this might be a bit drafty, but we loved it after our swim in the river on a wet day in March. The shower also does not have a roof, and there is a second bath that is completely outdoors. Fantastic!! Lots of hot water too. Shame we didnt find time for the sauna. The main bedroom cabins were warm and cosy and we had a comfortable nights sleep listening to the rain and the river. If you're looking for a holiday home with a difference, then this is the place for you. 😊

    Jane2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful ... complete retreat away from everything ... you can’t help relax. Red hot outdoor bath was superb ... the log cabin was super cosy with an excellent nostalgic selection of VHS. Stuart gave us a lift to the dam due to weather conditions with excellent advice on the return walk home ... great hospitality and a must to ‘get away from it all’.

  • My partner and I drove for 6 hours to reach Stuarts place for a one night stay, but it was worth every minute of the drive. Following Stuarts direction to the property made finding the accomodation a breeze. We were warmly welcomed with a glass of Pinot, pleasant conversation, followed by a tour of the grounds. We unfortunately arrived during storm Dennis, so as expected the pathways were very muddy and slippery, but this did not spoil our experience, the cabins have stunning views of the river that runs through Stuarts land, it has to be seen to be believed. We stayed in the main cabin, it is far from a shed but a properly built log cabin that kept us dry and warm! The whole place is very cute and cosy. The kitchen was well supplied with plates and cooking accessories and the bedroom has a small TV with a big choice of VHS to choose from Bathing outside in the storm is an experience I will never forget, and bathing in the skypod in the morning with the river running directly in front of you is simply amazing. Stuarts house is closer than it appears in photos, however it is downhill of the cabins offering privacy. When we checked out we were kindly offered a cup of tea which we turned down as we had a long drive ahead, however Stuart made a point of insisting we visit the Lake and Dam, and we are thrilled he did so, as this was simply stunning. We can't wait to experience Stuarts property again in the warmer and dryer weather!.

    Matty2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a brilliant time away at Stuarts place! Definitely recommend this to my friends and family, beautiful place with the most beautiful surroundings, would come back again in a heart beat! Great time, and super host!

  • Stuart's cabins were a perfect rustic place to get away from the city. He was a great host, making a fire for us and providing excellent local tips! It was nice to have a taste of outdoors on our visit to Whales.

  • 10/10 stay. Everything was absolute perfection. Such a cosy place to stay, felt right at home instantly. Toni was so hospitable, she even baked us some cakes which were delicious! The location is so beautiful and theres lots to do, the only problem is that we didn’t want to leave the barn because we were so comfortable! We’ll definitely be returning. Thank you Toni! ☺️

  • What a privilege to be writing the first Airbnb review. Toni’s place is the perfect retreat. A huge bedroom, with a huge bath and a very cosy living room with log burner. The surrounding area is a delight, very quiet and with some very friendly locals. Powis castle (about 20 mins away) is very impressive too. If you’re thinking about booking, go for it! You will be hosted impeccably by Toni and you will have a wonderful, relaxing break.

  • Beth's cottage is very comfortable, spacious, clean and quiet. It was a real pleasure spending time here and exploring the area around Lake Vyrnwy. The house is very big and will comfortably fit 6 people but I had the luxury of having it all to myself! Finding the cottage was a little difficult in the dark as the satnav took me down the wrong lane. Driving from the direction of Lake Vyrnway along B4393, the turn to the cottage is on the left marked by a sign with a sheep on a post saying B&B. The cottage is right at the end of the lane attached to the main farmhouse. If staying there for a few days, come equipped with food supplies. There are shops nearby but if you like to have very specific items, there is not a huge range in the nearby shops.

It was better than expected and we’d definitely stay again. Hele was really helpful sending directions prior to us arriving and reassured us she was a phone call away should we need her

  • Hele and the family are wonderful hosts. Offering tips on the local area and nothing was too much trouble. The cabin was even better than the pictures and had loads of extra touches that were lovely. I said I might like to do some walks when I was there and there were maps left in the cabin ready for me. Beautiful view, lovely accomondation - wonderful stay. Thank you very much, Hannah

  • We had a fantastic stay. The bed was so comfy. One of the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time. We could both see the time, effort and thought that had gone in to the log cabin(s). We would definitely consider staying again in the future.

    James2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our 2 nights at Heles cabins, our only regret was not booking a longer trip! Hele is a very warm & welcoming host (as are the animals) & has put alot of thought into the cabins. We have a super king sized bed at home and we're very happy to discover an even larger bed in our cabin, which was extremely comfortable. Unfortunately we DID have to leave the cabin occasionally to get some of the planned walking in but the comfort of the cabin was quickly forgotten when we saw the views. We have never seen views as beautiful as we did at the farm. From the top of the hill by the mini stone henge or from the cabin window or from the cabin deck, which has seating and even an outside burner to use which Hele kindly gave us the wood to burn. It was a lovely romantic break & we will definitely be returning to Heles cabins again

Elvish is spoken here… The Treehouse is tucked away at the top of the garden, a quirky little hideaway for a couple. It has its own parking space a few yards away. Inside, on the left, is a coat rail, then up 3 steps you find yourself in the bedroom, with double bed and wardrobe behind the curtain – this however also has a mattress so the space can be used for a child’s bed (just 4ft long). it is NOT suitable for a crawling baby or inquisitive toddler. There is also an extra hanger for long clothes – generally used for evening/wedding wear, plus under-bed storage. The Treehouse is heated very well by a Dimplex radiator, and in the wet room, an infrared wall heater. There is also a stone hot water bottle if one wishes to revisit the past. The tiny kitchen has a 2-gas hob, microwave, Dualit small oven, fridge, single sink and draining board, and cupboards below with appropriate cookware and crockery. Drawer above for cutlery, and hanging rack containing batterie de cuisine – scissors, tongs, whisk, spatula etc. etc. The dining area has a table for 2, whilst down 2 steps is the wet room, with shower, washbasin and toilet. The back door opens out to a little patio, known as the “rust garden” with its collection of sculptures created from the agricultural throw-outs lovingly collected or dug up from the surrounding fields, reminders of when Foel Ortho was a working farm. A garden table and 2 folding chairs get the afternoon sunshine, or one can sit on the bench in the covered area and admire the pouring rain!
You can do all these activities locally: Walk, Mountain Bike, Road Bike, Climb, Sail, Open water swim, Orienteering, Fish, Horse Ride, Ride On Steam Trains, Canoe, Row, Bird Watch, White Water Raft, Surf, High Wire Adventure, Zip Line, Raft Build, Gorge Walk, Kayak, Abseil, Clay Pigeon Shoot, Archery, Golf, Health Spa, Game Shooting, Race Hovercrafts, Race 4 x 4, Quad Bike, Go Karting, Roller Coaster, Shop. After a day of adventures there are some great pubs and restaurants in the local area to recharge. Search Farmhouseinwales for all details.
  • If your like you privacy and a break from the huddle and bustle look no further! Unique setting in the middle of the valley, I mean a Tree House... where can you find that sort of accommodation anywhere ?! Wonderfully warm and cosey inside had great night’s sleep and a fantastic stay all together. Kind regards E & S

    Eno2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was a fantastic place for a weekend getaway, and the suprise snow halfway through our stay made it feel magical. The bed was very comfortable and the space was just big enough for two people to comfortably 'live' In. The only 2 things I would like to mention, is that the bathroom was extremely cold. The shower temperature was lovely, but outside of that, it was very chilly any time you went in there (fluffy socks advised!). The second is that we were told there was WiFi there, but that it may run out with excessive use. When we arrived, it seemed that whoever had stayed before us had already used up all of the internet, and although this wasn't a big issue for us as we weren't planning on using the WiFi, it meant that we couldn't contact the hosts (or anyone) in an emergency, as there was also no 4G or phone service. Other than that, we had a lovely time and really recommend the treehouse If you're looking for a cosy break from a busy life.

  • I loved staying at Jenny and Eddie's Treehouse, they are the loveliest couple and seriously hospitable and wonderful people. The space is a fantastic, fantastical achievement and a wonderful creative wonderland. The Treehouse suited me perfectly, but it was a little cold. It is rustic, which I loved, but may not suit those wanting pristine or modern comforts. It is otherwordly and very clever, the way the space is used is genius. It had everything I needed including a very comfy bed and wondrous view! The magic is REAL! Thank you.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, with deep regret and sadness we have had to take the decision today 17 March to take no further bookings to protect our own health and to do our bit to limit the spread of the disease until there are changes to the situation. We will review this decision at the end of May and post any changes. We thank all of our guests for their understanding and wish them all well in these challenging times.
The property has a large car park and shared sitting areas including an orchard with lovely waterfall and pond. Inside the cottage, the cosy living area with wood-burning stove is open-plan with kitchen and dining areas and access to a large decked veranda and enclosed private garden overlooking the beautiful Tanat valley. The private rear outside space includes an exclusive Hot-Tub (freshly-filled for you and heated throughout your stay at a small extra cost of £40-£60 depending upon the length of your stay payable on arrival) gas BBQ, wood-burning fire-pit, alfresco dining area and comfortable seating for relaxing and enjoying our fabulous views. Also on the ground floor of the cottage is the double bedroom and modern shower room with stairs leading to the mezzanine bedroom with twin beds and a feature barn-slot window as well as velux windows to admire the view over the Berwyns.
Bellevue is set in a rural area approx 1.5 miles from Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant with its pretty shops and local pubs. Famous Pistyll Rhaeadr is close by and a lovely scenic drive of 14 miles to Bala with its water sports. 5 miles away is Llangynog with Revolution bike park for downhill biking enthusiasts.
  • Very cosy and well appointed. Amazing views over the valley from the hot tub and close to outstanding countryside. Nice log burner with wood supplied for a small additional cost. Would highly recommend a stay here.

  • We absolutely loved the house and Janet was an exceptional host. The view is amazing, the hot tub is so comfortable and the location close to the shops. The local village is cute and people were very friendly. The butcher there offers the best tasting meat. We highly recommend!

  • We had the most wonderful and relaxing little break. The hot tub was spectacular and the views simply idyllic. I cannot recommend this gorgeous little cottage enough and we shall definitely plan a return visit! Thanks again xx

  • Wow Wow Wow! Jan & Rich are the best, the girlfriend and I were looking for a romantic stay away for her birthday/valentines and we found it. With views to die for and a hot tub to shake the crispy cold winds was phenomenal. A birthday weekend away well spent at Belle Vue. If you don’t mind a bit of a splash we’d recommend the waterfall just a few mile down the road. A stunning waterfall named as one of the 7 wonders of Wales was a fantastic opportunity to get out and see the local area (not too bad place either for the instagram lovers. Photos were amazing). We just really want to say thank you once again to Jan & Rich we had the weekend of our dreams and we can’t wait to book back in again. Jack & Abi

  • As soon as we arrived at Bellvue Cottage, we were warmly welcomed by Jan and Rich. They gave us a quick tour of the cottage and have thought of the smallest details to make the stay perfect. The hot tub is amazing for the location you are in, looking out over the Welsh hills, and the log burner also gives the cottage a nice, cosy feeling (wood and fire starters are also provided for by the hosts). Would highly recommend this stay if you want a nice few days away from the hustle and bustle and want a relaxing break away!

    Amy2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Bellevue cottage is a fantastic place to stay, the cottage and hot tub are perfect, the scenery and setting is amazing and the hosts Jan+Rich are wonderful...We as a family HIGHLY RECOMMEND a stay at bellevue cottage and carn't wait to return.

  • A beautiful cottage with amazing views. Check in was easy and communicating with jan was always a pleasure. The cottage was well equipped and the hot tub was a lovely treat at the end of a long day of exploring. Would 100% return again. Thanks for a lovely trip away! 😊

  • Mike and Rachael's place is absolutely lovely and they are very kind and welcoming. The place is really stylish, clean and very cosy. We absolutely loved the use of space and the little touches like the record player, telescope, homemade Welsh cakes and farm eggs. Really does feel like you're on a private retreat. We also made friends with the lovely farm animals. Without doubt the best Airbnb stay we've had. We'll definitely go back!

    Dilly2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What can you say? Heavenly! We stayed at Mouse House in February 2020, just after Storm Dennis, and not even the weather could dampen our spirits, such is this gem of a rural retreat in mid-Wales. Had the weather been better, we'd have no doubt set off on long walks in the beautiful countryside that surrounds Mouse House. But, the rain stopped play. Not that we'd complain. Mouse House is a delightful little place, with relaxing views of the ducks swimming across the pond/lake during the day, and a wonderfully warm log burner for cozy nights. We'd suggest packing a book or two, switching off all links to the outside world, and sitting back to let time pass. Although, if you do want to be connected, Mouse House has superfast broadband, Wi-Fi and Netflix on the huge smart TV. Seriously, we loved our stay and the little touches that Rachael and Mike added to make us welcome. I think it's fair to say we'll be back. Please keep that welcome in the hillsides!

    Ian2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully decorated place with stunning surroundings and all the essentials you could need thanks to the outstanding hospitality. The bed is extremely comfy and the tv and sound speakers were such good quality. Definitely coming back again 👌🏼

    Sophie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Mouse House really is a tranquil little hidden gem and perfect in every way! The location is well away from the beaten track and perfect for some rest and relaxation, the setting is really beautiful and directions were spot on. I arrived the day after the storms and despite this, Rachael and Mike were perfect hosts, keeping me fully informed at every step. Such thoughtful personal touches really made the trip for me, the personal welcome and tour, local produce and home-made Welsh Cakes. The inside is warm and cosy and décor fabulous, lovely log burner, comfy sofa and amazing bathroom and bedroom, and spotlessly clean throughout, definitely a well deserved 5 stars! I can't recommend the Mouse House enough to anyone wanting to escape for some rest and relaxation, a romantic weekend and just enjoy the surrounding countryside. I will definitely be visiting again soon :-)

    Julie2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Mouse House was brilliant - tucked away in the Welsh countryside, lovely little house with everything you need. Mike and Rachael were excellent hosts. Storm Ciara hit during our stay resulting in a power cut in the area but Mike and Rachael were extremely generous, making sure we still had everything we needed and our holiday disrupted as little as possible - even cooking a hot dinner for us! Would massively recommend the Mouse House to anyone looking. Thanks again Mike and Rachael!

    Vicky2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous place! Set amongst beautiful countryside in its own garden by a lake with its own decking and bbq area. Spotlessly clean and furnished to a high standard with everything you could possibly need (and more) to hand. Fresh eggs, homemade jam and chutney along with Rachaels homemade welsh cakes were very much appreciated and were all extremely yummy! Lovely friendly hosts who are on hand if needed but not intrusive in any way. A menagerie of animals including a friendly dog, chickens, cockerel and alpacas. We will definitely be returning and will be recommending to our family and friends!

    Wendy2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • You definitely have to check this little hidden gem out! It is in a secluded area but close to the shops if u need to grab food or want to eat out. The hideaway is a perfect getaway for a long weekend and is so peaceful. Rachael and Mike left thoughtful little touches such as the gorgeous welsh cakes and the welcome note on the board as you arrive. The mouse house is a must visit and i will definitely be recommending it in the future. I can imagine it is even more welcoming in the summer when you get to enjoy sitting outside amongst the wilderness. Book it now you wont be disappointed!

  • My boyfriend and I went to stay for a romantic getaway to celebrate his birthday. The pods were simply gorgeous, even better than they look in the picture. Elaine greeted us and we were made to feel so welcome. Everything was spotlessly clean, could not fault this hideaway it was perfect. Had our own private hot tub and the owners had even left a bottle of wine for us to celebrate which was a lovely touch. After a great nights sleep in a really comfy bed we had a fantastic breakfast hamper delivered. Warm croissants, jam, tea, milk, orange juice.....fantastic start to the day. Could not recommend this place enough, thank you for a wonderful stay and we will definitely be coming back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The extra touches were so lovely breakfast basket hand delivered in the morning with hot crossiants, and fresh milk and juice in fridge for you on arrival. Both really lovely hosts. Hot tub is amazing and the views spectacular. We're so lucky to live in such a beautiful area. Can't wait to come back and stay many thanks Tina

    Laura2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The pod was amazing, so clean and stylish and just the right size for myself and my boyfriend (and our dog). Jon and Elaine were very helpful and friendly, they answered any questions (both prior to and during our trip) quickly and had excellent local knowledge about where to visit and eat. We loved that their was a fire bowl to use so in the evenings we could lit the fire and get in the hot tub and just relax. My friends have seen photos I've posted online and have asked where it is and how to book, so they're impressed too! Thank you for a great weekend away!

  • Great property. I was lucky enough to be the only guest during my stay so I had sole access to the shared lounge. Breakfast was amazing Bed was amazing Shower room was great. Only thing I found is I was taller than the shower. But that is my fault for being so tall. Location amazing Host amazing (& Beth’s daughter was very helpful when I arrived on the first night) Value for money more than amazing Given the chance I would stay again. I highly recommend the place to anyone looking for a short break and wanting to explore north wales. I used my holiday to climb Snowdon and so was very greatful for a warm comfy bed and not a sleeping bag in a field. 10/10

  • A quiet, peaceful spot near a beautiful lake. Excellent facilities in the B and B and the most marvellously comfortable double bed! Also a brilliant breakfast. We would highly recommend Bethan's place!

    Walter2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The room and en suite were very comfortable, and Bethan provided a number of items in a small fridge ( milk, wine and beer) which were very welcome on arrival. I couldn't find the property on Google maps but the photo of the sign on the main road was useful in locating the property. Some more precise directions to visitors would help. Overall a very comfortable and enjoyable stay

  • A terrific little getaway with beautiful views, not far from the village and the impressive Pystill Falls (highest in Wales). The cottage is spacious and quirkily designed- a very relaxing stay.

  • Even with relentless October rain we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. That view! Peace and quiet with the odd pheasant for company. Remote location without actually being that remote! Short walk to the village for pub, excellent indian takeaway, few minutes drive from the best waterfall I have ever seen. Plenty of pillows and blankets and cooking pots and plates etc. Wood burner to get cosy. You can find the village by sat nav and then find the house with the directions provided. If you want a bit of rural down time in a place that feels homely, I don’t think you’ll get much better.

**Just amending my listing- my property is rural, no contact with myself. Everything cleaned down throughly after each guest has used the room. ** On the outskirts of Shrewsbury. Beautiful converted cottage, old coach house and barn, in small hamlet, 2 minutes from the A5 Local pub within 1 mile, 2 minute drive. Step straight onto court yard off the bedroom. Shrewsbury 10 minutes drive/ Oswestry 15 minutes.
Private secure parking, located just before the property on the right hand side if approached from Nesscliffe direction. Turn into the gravel driveway and park through opened gate. If you wish to park by the property to unload/load luggage, this is absolutely fine. Please do not park behind the house in the driveway immediately to the right of the house. This is not my driveway! ***Please Please read the directions I send and do not follow the sat nav, it will take you totally out of your way!!!!*****
Nestled beneath Nesscliffe Hill, a popular beauty spot for dog walkers or walkers in general.
  • A clean, .tidy and comfortable option.

  • Sam’s place is a lovely, comfortable, clean and stylish double room with private entrance, private bathroom and private parking in the idyllic location of a small village close to beautiful Shrewsbury. It’s ideal for anybody visiting friends or family or holidaying in the area who don’t need a kitchen/living space but would like the privacy of their own entrance. The place was wonderful for our short two-night stay over New Year’s Eve. We drove to North Wales for hiking and visited friends for NYE in Shrewsbury. The location was perfect. We appreciated the Christmas decorations, generous tea & coffee supplies, cosy central heating, comfortable bed and quiet, private setting via the back courtyard of Sam’s cottage. Sam’s directions and communications were also clear, accurate and timely! Highly recommended.

    Jodie2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend staying here. A lovely place and Sam is a great host!

    Andrew2019-12-08T00:00:00Z

Run on permaculture principles, Tanyfron Housing Co-operative is home to two families and is situated on a wooded site overlooking the Vyrnwy Valley. We are offering two adjoining rooms, both doubles and the smaller room can also be used as a sitting room for the larger room. There is a lockable door between the two. The large bedroom boasts a super-king-sized bed and is perfect for those who co-sleep, or for those who simply like a lot of room at night!
  • This is a really special place, the rooms are gorgeous, the bed is huge, comfy and so cosy and the hosts were super friendly and welcoming. There are loads of thoughtful touches everywhere, the compost loo was great, clean and well stocked. It's set in beautiful surroundings and the grounds itself full of friendly animals and food growing. Perfect place to relax and accessible for the surrounding towns . Would thoroughly recommend, absolute bargain. Definitely going to stay here again!

  • Tanyfron is a lovely place for the right kind of person. Read what they tell you. It was perfect for myself and a friend. The room was big and airy and the bed king size and comfortable. It was certainly clean and bright and very good value. The house is a work in progress and the people taking it on are all very pleasant and helpful. I look forward to staying there whenever I am in the area again.

Modern house located 1 mile from town centre in a quiet rural hamlet. Next to canal path & River Severn. Parking available. Wifi, TV and use of kitchen if required. Host has good knowledge of local area.
Stunning rural location in heartlands of mid Wales
Within walking distance of town amenities. 1.5 miles to train and railway stations. On the footpath of the Severn Way which runs from its source in Plynlymon Mountain Range to Severn Estury near Bristol. Home of the famous Robert Owen (museum in the town) and Pryce Jones (first mail order delivery in the world). Also home of Laura Ashley where there is a retail outlet.
  • Wonderful use of bathroom and amenities in kitchen, and bedroom comfortable

  • Andrew's home is located in a village in the middle of Galles. Wonderful nature around and many opportunities to do activities outside. It is not far away from the main station (only 20 min walk) and there is a nice path along the river. The home is big, spacious and really well maintained. The is a big bathroom and kitchen. The small garden is simply lovely. The bedroom is quite big and the bed is comfortable and large. I hope to come back soon and to spend more days in your lovely home Andrew! Thank you very much again!

  • Best place I’ve stayed Andrew is very welcoming and helpful his house is very clean it feels like a home away from home

    Ryan2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house is located on a small housing estate about 1.5 Kilometers from Newtown centre where you can find all of the usual facilities. For adventurous guests there is a pathway that starts just a few hundred yards from the house that follows the river Severn into town, which takes about 20 minutes. This is also part of the official Severn Way Path. The house has all amenities, a spacious kitchen and lounge with Sky TV. There is also a bijou back yard for sitting and relaxing in if the weather is nice and it is what you like! Upstairs there is a comfortable bedroom and a nice bathroom with a large shower and an equally large bath which I did not use because I did not have the time but it looked very inviting. The host allows free access to the fridge and its contents, although it is advisable to provide food and drink to suit your own personal tastes, as I did. I think the accommodation will suit most peoples requirements and they will be made very welcome.

All essentials where provided including fresh bread, milk and a homemade cake. I use a wheelchair and this property suited my needs perfectly. Only one entrance step and parking right outside on the drive. My 3 year old son had an amazing time, access to the gardens to see the chickens, dog and cat. The annex is a newly converted self-contained, fully equipped living space with kitchen, bedroom and en-suite, and with the added comfort of underfloor heating. It has it’s own private front entrance and off-road parking along side the annex. We have fantastic views of the Berwyn mountains and countryside. We are within walking distance of the village pub and shop and close to Pistyll Rhaedr - the tallest waterfall in England & Wales, and Lake Vyrnwy Reservoir and RSPB reserve.
We are located at the end of a peaceful, charming village and we have beautiful views of the Berwyn Mountains and surrounding countryside. In the summer there is a patio and BBQ to the rear of the annex over looking the views. The annex is attached to the main house but is a separate private living space including en-suite and kitchen with breakfast bar, fridge freezer, oven, electric hobs, toaster and kettle and anything else you might need. It’s compact and comfortable - A great place to base yourselves while exploring North or Mid-Wales. There are walks directly from the property and, for the more experienced, rock climbing close by and just down the road is Revolution Bike Park which is perfect for the more seasoned Mountain Bikers. The area is popular with walkers, and Snowdonia National Park is just a short drive away.
We are located at the edge of a charming welsh village, which has it's own pub, post office and shop where you can buy most of your essentials. We’re not far from Snowdonia National Park and Bala which is great for watersports - windsurfing to stand up paddle boarding. There is plenty of quiet and beautiful local walks within the Berwyns and in the Tanat valley. You won’t be stuck for things to do!
  • We had a wonderful stay in this lovely Annex. It was spotlessly clean and a perfect little getaway for a couple of nights with lots of fab walks in the surrounding area. Would definitely recommend!

Cut Cywarch is in the heart of the Southern Snowdonia mountains. Set at the foot of the Aran Fawddwy (905m) - there are many walks starting from the door step of the hut. If you are looking to switch off and get away from it all, then this is the place for you. With no mobile phone signal or wifi you are sure to have some peace and quiet! Perfect for a couple getaway.
Wooden hut in the mountains. 3.5 miles from the village of Dinas Mawddwy where you will find a two pubs, a garden centre two cafes and a crafts centre. A further mile up the road there is a petrol station and a shop.
  • Such a beautiful remote spot in Wales, we absolutely loved our stay and particularly enjoyed the local walk recommendation. The bed was also really comfortable and enjoying breakfast outside in the sun was perfect

  • Loved it so much, such an amazing location for walking and views. Gorgeous stream running past, it’s just beautiful.

  • Last minute trip down wales, cut cywarch was a lovely cosy, warm, hut in the middle of a beautiful valley!

    Alison2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing stay. The location was perfect for hiking throughout South Snowdonia and there are plenty of guides in the hut to help you find the right walk. The hut was very cosy and genuinely felt a lot more spacious than the pics make it look. Shower was nice and had all the necessary amenities to cook some decent meals. The best thing was waking up to the mountains literally on your doorstep with the stream flowing right next to you. Highly recommend, will definitely be coming back!

    Henry2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing location. The photos do not do this place justice. This is the perfect place to stay if you like to walk. Just outside your doorstep there are national walks with beautiful views. There's also a beautiful river running by the side of the wooden pod which can't be seen in the photos Ellen has up. We stayed for one night, and the wooden pod is lovely and cosy with all the amenities you'd need. We visited the local pub The Red Lion for food, which had a lovely open fire and great pub grub 😃 loved that there was no signal, WiFi or television, it really added to the relaxing weekend away! Will definitely be back soon.
