  • This accommodation was just what we needed. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen facilities were very good, and the accommodation was clean and cosy. Would definitely recommend.

  • We had a delightful stay, the place was sparkling clean, the hosts were attentive and welcoming. They were accommodating to our late arrival and all round superb. The little touches such as the carnations, milk, orange juice, bread etc were a very pleasant surprise. They obviously were thoughtful enough to think of their guests and went above and beyond. The finish of the place was modern and stylish. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

My house is in a very quiet private estate but is less then a 10 minute walk to the town centre and less then a 5 minute walk to the bus stop. Norwich is approximately halve an hour drive away. So I believe best of both worlds, peace and quiet without being isolated.
Neighbourhood is quiet and neighbours are pleasant and polite.
  • Lovely host, room was as described. Very clean and easy to access.

  • Mandy is nice host. Her house is clean, beautiful, comfortable & always warm even outside is cold during winter. I truly recommend to other guests if want to see Watton during Christmas Day and plan for new year.

  • Good location, comfortable, good communication, friendly host. Will book again

    Alex2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • We judged the accommodation to be fully up to the standards advertised and we have no complaints. Just to be clear, we checked-in but were unable to spend the night because the external event we’d come to attend finished earlier than expected and so we decided to drive home that evening. Our early departure should in no way be considered a criticism of the accommodation or our host. I can confirm that our host was ready waiting for us when we arrived shortly after midday. The accommodation appeared to be modern, clean and tidy. Our host had provided a set of freshly laundered towels and we believe the bed linen to be the same (though we didn’t end up sleeping there). The bathroom was modern and clean. We were told that while we were welcome to use both the bath and shower, the shower worked better. We are shower people so this didn’t bother us. Our host told us that we had the run of the kitchen and could help ourselves to tea, coffee and milk. Based on our limited experience we would have no hesitation recommending this accommodation to others.

    Arnab2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Mandy could not have been more helpful, check in was made so easy and she was in constant contact making sure everything went smoothly. The rooms and bathroom were spotless and the shower was brilliant. Would definitely recommend to anyone wishing to stay here. Even though Mandy was feeling extremely under the weather and we couldn’t meet i don’t feel she could have done any more for us, great host

  • This was the nicest little place we have stayed, would definitely come back.

    Becca2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • A warm welcome from owners who are attentive to needs yet also respectful of privacy. It's a cosy traditional space and although compact with regard to the shower facility and kitchen it is a more than functional space and being able to watch TV in bed is a luxury! Appreciated the little touches of flowers, candles and eggs from the resident hens and ducks and being able to watch the wildbirds at the feeders. I would stay again (if they'll have me!).

    Barbara2019-11-22T00:00:00Z

  • Absolutely loved staying here. First time in a shepherd hut and it was amazing. Setting is beautiful. Loved the hot tub and waking up to the lake and birds singing in the morning. Everything from check in to cleanliness was perfect. Already looking at dates to return!

    Louise2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • The views from the hut are priceless. Beautiful location and hot tub is an added bonus. Although would be more ideal if there was a path leading up to the hot tub - bring spare shoes to walk up the embankment. Local town was friendly and good value for money. Absolutely loved our stay and will be coming back soon!

    Susanne2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say about this little gem. Set in quiet, idyllic Norfolk countryside though close to tonnes of great things to do, we really had a dream stay here. First of all, communication was incredible. All of our questions regarding coming with a little baby were answered immediately. The hosts were so helpful and accommodating and offered us a load of great recommendations for things to do and places to go. The studio was spotless and classily done. Lovely comfy queen bed and all the amenities high quality. Lovely shower room which is important. The high ceilings and exposed brick make it a lovely place to hang out and the underfloor heating was a touch we greatly appreciated. Great value for money and a wonderful New Years away. Would Highly recommend to anyone looking in this area.

  • Just came back from a weekend at Mels place, ‘The Wren’. The cottage was absolutely beautiful, clean and had everything we required for a nice little break. The Christmas decorations were so cute and the guide book was extremely helpful. Mel was great at responding to my messages and I would definitely recommend staying here.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in The Wren and thought it was in a great location for exploring Norfolk/Cambridgeshire and for getting in some well deserved R&R. The property is nestled in woodland and offers everything you need for a peaceful and nature-loving break. Easy check-in, clean facilities, ideal local amenities and the Christmas touches really made our weekend.

Set in a wonderful large garden Hawthorne Farm has peace and tranquility to offer. Uninterrupted views of the countryside with amazing sunsets and sunrises for those early birds. One boundary is quite literally on the side of the Peddars Way, an historic green lane that can be followed all the way to the north Norfolk coast. Wildlife is in abundance and a joy to watch. We have a family of deer living in close proximity and they are not shy to show their faces. A hideaway for all seasons.

Breathe the fresh forest air & immerse yourself in nature here! With lakes and rivers within metres & endless walking from the doorstep, you'll feel rejuvenated as soon as you arrive. We are tucked up in the forest away from it all in a beautiful walled garden brimming with wildlife.
Furnished with good quality furniture and bedding and well equipped kitchen you should have everything you need for a relaxing and indulgent stay.
We live on a long dead end road so its super quiet here. However, this is such a pretty area it is a favourite for people to come to to walk so people come and visit the lakes and Arboretum (tree collection) that is next to our property. So you will see people, dog walkers and mountain bikers. An ice cream van often visits the lakes over the road on the weekends! Lynford Hall Hotel is next door (250 metres) if you fancy walking to a meal out, or there is Browns at Mundford (1 mile) that is nice for breakfast or lunch. The Crown at Mundford is also about a mile away and does pub grub and has a beer garden.
  • Outstanding. Very clean, didn’t need teabags, coffee, sugar, milk, salt and pepper, there was a packet of biscuits and share bag of crisps. The under floor heating brilliant, the bath amazing and the few around the cottage is breathtaking. My family and I would go back in a heartbeat

    Louise2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and quirky accommodation, in the most perfect, peaceful location! We loved spending quality time as a family, making the most of the lovely walks on the doorstep. There were some lovely little touches, a pack of biscuits and crisps laid out for us on arrival too! We made the most of our short break, with visits to Lyndord hall hotel, high lodge & go ape to name a few. All in all a perfect break for our family in the most beautiful cottage!!

  • We booked to stay whilst attending a family function around 30mins away & we could not have been happier with our stay & the cottage! Beautifully decorated, along with everything you need for a comfortable time away. The location is perfect for walking & biking (there was a lot of rain during our time at the Finches but we did manage a bit of exploring when not visiting family). Perfect for Summer Breaks orWinter Escapes The cottage is in the very centre of the village with the green and ducks just outside the door and the village pond right behind. A cosy cottage built in 1810 retains its charm whilst beautifully renovated for all the needs of modern living. Centrally located in Norfolk. Good for the numerous places and attractions in Norfolk including The Broads, the coast and many National Trust properties in the area including Sandringham to name but a few.
We are surrounded by the beautiful Norfolk countryside with walks in and around the village to suit all abilities ranging from just a stroll to something more challenging. A local Company Breakland Nordic Walking also offers group walks. For those who want their exercise to be a little more energetic there are both tennis and basketball courts as well as a football pitch just two minutes walk from the cottage.
You look out at the front of the cottage across the village green and overlook the village pond at the back. It's a really friendly little village that's not too far from anywhere with a beautiful pond that has lots of very friendly ducks and ducklings.
  • Cute little cottage set in the middle of Norfolk. Perfect for exploring all of the county. Super comfortable beds and a quiet location. Very friendly ducks!! Highly recommend

  • Amanda was a fantastic host. Her house was very warm and inviting and spotlessly clean. It is in a lovely quiet location with a nice view of the village green. I would 100% recommend staying here to anyone that is visiting Ashill and surrounding areas.

    Donna2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda has the loveliest of cottages with a homely feel created by little touches such as cosey blankets by the sofas, fresh flowers in the kitchen, snacks for my 7 year old and duck food to feed a friendly group of ducks. Amanda was very understanding about our delayed arrival. The only thing I would change is staying for longer! Nice places to eat in the village and very friendly locals.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Ashill! Lovely chat with Amanda when we arrived and quick responses to any queries we had by message. The house was lovely, cosy and well equipped. Comfy beds and nice and warm. Ashill is pretty and we enjoyed the company of all the local ducks! It was immaculately clean too, which we really appreciated. Many thanks Amanda :)

Dairy Cottage is set in a peaceful, rural location only 2 hours drive from London and approx 45 mins to the North Norfolk Coast, offering access to Wells, Burnham Market, Holkham, Hunstanton, Sheringham, Cromer, Holt etc. Also within easy reach are the beautifully picturesque Norfolk Broads and the historic cities of Norwich and Cambridge. This comfortable 17th Century holiday home was the former dairy to the adjoining farmhouse.
  • This is a beautiful cottage in a great location. It is so thoughtfully decorated and the grounds are also gorgeous and spacious.

  • Marvellous and peaceful cottage immersed in the English countryside. It is not far from several interesting sites and the host, Sue, is terrific. Definitely worth checking out when in Norfolk.

  • The cottage was very cosy and had a beautiful garden. Sue was very helpful and friendly, would definitely recommend for a lovely peaceful break!

  • Sue was a great host, very friendly and welcoming and had thought of everything we needed. The place is great, lovely garden and use of a paddock with space for the kids to run around.

    Daisy2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Sue’s place is just beautiful. The garden and surrounding area are idyllic and as we were lucky enough to have some gorgeous weather, we could make the most of the patio and shared grounds with our two young children. The house itself has some lovely old features and the bedrooms were cosy, and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a short stay. Communication and check in were spot on and we were grateful to Sue for hosting us at very short notice. We hope to visit again in the future.

At Bodney Lodge you can stay in the heart of the unspoilt countryside of Norfolk’s Brecklands, in a beautifully restored nineteenth century barn and stable. From the four-poster bed to the full-size snooker table, the facilities are luxurious. Drive down the tree-lined, gravel drive through the idyllic Bodney Hall estate and you’ll arrive at a very special holiday home. Bodney Lodge comprises a barn, stable and outhouse that have been renovated to an extremely high standard. During your stay, you’ll find there’s plenty of space for you all to enjoy yourselves. In the main barn, a rustic, teak dining table seats up to 10 guests, and is situated under an antler chandelier. The owners have thought of every detail, from the underfloor heating to the free-standing copper bath in the master bedroom. As guests you’re welcome to walk through the parkland of Bodney Hall down to the River Wissey. The river is a chalk stream and you can arrange fly fishing should you wish. Attractions and nearby amenities On the River Nar is Castle Acre, which is a must for anyone interested in our nation’s history. The village contains the ruins and remnants of a complete Norman settlement, with a castle, church and a monastery. The castle is a classic motte-and-bailey formation, while Castle Priory is one of the largest monastic sites remaining in England. The market town of Swaffham boasts fine Georgian buildings and was reputedly one of Horatio Nelson’s favourite haunts. There’s a market held here every Saturday and you can also visit the town museum as well as the EcoTech centre – the views from the top of the staircase are stunning. Oxburgh Hall is a manor house surrounded by a moat. It may look peaceful nowadays, but Oxburgh has witnessed everything from the Civil War to the persecution of the Catholics – you can still see a priest’s hole hidden inside the building. The walled garden makes for a lovely stroll too. Houghton Hall was originally the home of Great Britain’s first Prime Minister, Sir Robert Walpole. The house is one of the jewels of the nation’s crown, in classic Palladian style. The impressive and extensive gardens often host works by famous sculptors and there’s also a Soldier Museum to keep the little ones (or the grown-ups) entertained. The House closes during the winter months. If you fancy a flutter or just enjoy the thrills and spills of thoroughbred racing, both Fakenham Racecourse and Newmarket Racecourses are nearby. Check their websites for the racing calendar. You can see some of the thoroughbreds being walked and exercised in the early morning at Newmarket – drive carefully, the horses take right of way over traffic. From the architectural splendour of King’s College Chapel to the recently opened Grand Arcade with a five-storey John Lewis, Cambridge has something for everyone. One great way to see the city is by taking a punt along the River Cam. For additional inspiration on what to do within the area, please click here.

The house was built in 1349 by my ancestors as a college of priests to serve the village. The décor is a mixture of antiques & modern pieces. Our rooms are large & airy and all have views over farmland or the garden. We are in a remote location on the edge of the village. There is a large garden and we have cats, alpacas, sheep & chickens. As this is our home I'm afraid we cannot take bookings on the day and require at least 24 hours notice.
We offer B&B accommodation & occasional meals.
We are on the edge of the village. It is very quiet & peaceful with views across fields and pingos (ancient ponds)

  • What a hidden gem. I cannot explain how beautiful this place is. It is so peaceful and I wish we could of stayed longer, Three nights wasnt enough, We would live here! Surprisingly the hut was more spacious that we initially expected. Sitting on the decking on the fire pit every evening, In Mid January, and we were toasty warm! Infact we even got out of the hot tub as it was too hot! We BBQ'd every night. The bed is amazingly comfortable. We didnt expect the shower to be so comfortable and my partner couldnt get enough of the fresh tap water - lol. I had so many people ask me where this place was and it was such a special place I didnt like telling them! We will be back year after year and we are looking to bring friends with us to the boathouse in January. Thankyou so much for building this little haven. 💓

  • Fabulous stay in the Blue Marlin, which exceeded expectations. Stunning location, perfect for a relaxing break. We had planned to eat out in the local pubs, but couldn't tear ourselves away Wispy Meadows in the evenings so ate on the decking! Well worth ordering the gas bottle for the fire pit, as despite us being there for cool October evenings, we were still able to sit outside for dinner and late into the evening. Will definitely be booking again.

A beautiful converted stables with lots of charm and original features. Kingsize bed with luxury linens, towels and exclusive use of the large bathroom in your own mini wing of the house. 2nd separate bedroom with 2 single beds ideal for children. Take advantage of your own coffee/tea making machine and seperate fridge. Close to many market towns there is always something to do in the local area including Snetterton race track, Banham Zoo, Go Ape or a visit to Sandringham to see the queen.
My home is a converted stables with lovely original beams and brickwork. Your bedroom is light and spacious with a traditional sash window, a vaulted ceiling complete with ceiling fan to cool the air on a hot summers night. Your bed is a French, painted, king size with crisp cotton linens. You have exclusive use of the large bathroom next door to your bedroom with bath and shower over. All the essential toiletries are on hand. I can also accommodate two children in single beds in a separate room if required. Additional guest charge would apply in this instance.
Being in the heart of the glorious Norfolk countryside and among many market towns, there is always something to capture your imagination. If you love adventure, you could get behind the wheel at Snetterton race track, feed the giraffes at Banham Zoo, swing through the trees at Go Ape or take a visit to Sandringham to see the Queen. Norwich renowned for being a great shopping destination is only a half an hour drive to get your retail therapy fix.
