  • Cute, tiny cabin on the lake. Ritchie was responsive and gave good travel advice.

  • We are weekend warriors, trying to take small trips around michigan on the weekends. This weekend just so happened to be my husbands birthday, and he chose this cabin and I could not have been more pleased with the location, cleanliness or the hospitality Ritchies Airbnb offered us. We will DEFINITELY be coming back in the summer to enjoy the same scenery we saw this weekend. Thank you again!!

  • I absolutely loved this place! One of the most memorable air-bnbs I’ve ever stayed in. Great Lake view, stylish western-style cabins. Ritchie is very lovely and hospitable. Makes me wish I could stay for a week!

  • The location of this place is just perfect. Open the back door and you are few steps away from the lake. If you are looking for a lake gateway this is it !!! Also Ritchie is a great host and very responsive.

  • The cabin was adorable and we had everything we needed!

    Krystina2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was just what we needed for our weekend up north! Ritchie was a great host, there if you needed but not overbearing. We accidentally blew a fuse and he was quick to help out! The cabin was cute, clean, and comfortable. Beautiful place on a beautiful lake! Highly recommend.

    Grace2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was super cozy & clean. Nice & warm. Perfect size for me, my husband & our pup. We enjoyed ice fishing & caught lots of perch. The lake is right in the back yard which was so nice. It’s shallow so the ice was nice & safe. 13inches!! People were driving on it. The marina down the street had bait for us. Richie went above & beyond for us. Including staying up late to greet us Friday & warming the cabin up for us. We absolutely loved walking to the little dinner down the road. Everything was so good. We ended up going back for dessert. We’re looking forward to our next stay on Paradise.

  • Looking for a quiet place to unwind for a few days? This is it! Will definitely be back.

    Ben2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable little cabin. Perfect view of the lake. Exactly as described, one room but had everything we needed for our several days there. Easy check in, he let us know a couple places to eat that were within walking distance. We were able to cook several meals there as there were pans, fridge, microwave, stove and keurig. Would definately come back another time.

    Shannon2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was perfect for my weekend in the area. Enjoyed the lake and sunrise right out the front door, don’t miss the Sturgeon Bay sunsets, pizza at Clyde’s Place was fantastic. The cabin is just right for one or two people and very clean. I would definitely stay again.

    Sherry2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ritchie was an absolutely fantastic host. The place was clean and cute, the wifi worked very well, and the location was beautiful. He is knowledgeable about local places and was always close by. I recommend this to anyone going up north!

    Will2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Ritchie a great host. We were able to find the cabin with no difficulty. The cabin was clean, comfortable and cozy. A great location, we enjoyed all the fun and beauty surrounding Carp Lake.

    Sherri2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ritchie and his cabins were really wonderful! Cabin 2 is teeny tiny, but very sweet rustic and just feet away from the beautiful lakeshore. We were running several hours late, but Ritchie was very kind about it and waiting for us when we arrived. He helped us to jump start our fire with his torch and later showed us around some of the other cabins. Great location with lots of beautiful parks and trails nearby. So mice to be able to bring our dog and we cooked most of our meals in the kitchen or over the fire. We would love to come back and visit!

    Emily2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Richie was a great host who was very helpful and right on the spot to answer any questions or offered help with any needs. The place has nostalgic charm and can be used as a base to travel other places or would be fun just to stay there relax and enjoy the lake was very serene. What is centrally located to visit many spots in the U P or the mitten. We will return in the future. I can recommend this place most definitely.

  • Fantastic view of a beautiful lake.

    Doug2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • It was so good location! Everything was okay. Good place to spend night!

    Nurefsan2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is awesome. It's pretty basic in terms of amenities, however, its clean and provides the essentials (hot water, a stocked kitchen, linens, and a place to sleep!). What really makes this place awesome (aside from Lee being a really nice & responsive host) is the location. You're one exit away from Mackinaw City, 10-15 min away from Wilderness State Park. The cottage comes with its on little rowboat, so you can do a little light fishing at the end of the day. It's so quiet and tucked away. It's perfect and we'll definitely be going back next year.

    Leena2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • I love these cabins! They are rustic and charming but have everything you need. There were extra pillows and blankets which is a big plus for me. The lake is beautiful and our host was knowledgeable about the fishing. It's a great location and we are looking forward to staying there again next year!

    Crisy2019-07-24T00:00:00Z

  • Great rustic campground! We battled through wind, rain and hail setting our hammocks up and starting a fire and still managed to have a good time. Wish we could have stayed longer!

    Kristen2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Bliss Camp. It was so peaceful. The camp site was super clean and had plenty of solar lights to light up the paths to the portapotty and trash cans. All though the weather was cloudy and rainy we were prepared and loved every bit of our stay. We will definitely be back.

  • clean outhouse, tidy, quiet, great location, easy to find.

    Britta2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very tidy setup, Porta potty like brand new. Incredible location for base camp in this area of Michigan, gorgeous and quiet. Open sky and morning shade! Stay here for better camping than the state park. I arrived late at night and didn’t have difficulty finding it- great directions from host. Thanks Steph!

    Britta2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! If you're into stars this is the spot. All you need to do is pitch a tent, start a fire, and make memories. Signage on the road was very helpful, probably one of the cleanest Porta John's I've ever seen (including LED's lightning the way). This was our first family camping trip and we'll be back for sure.

    Aaron2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • The campsite was excellent! Clean, nice picnic table and fire pit and beautiful hiking. The view of the stars was better or just as good as the Headland dark sky park - Headland has a concrete bleacher style seating area but you can’t see the stairs or the people, and some stairs were uneven (you need a red flashlight) and also alot of people were talking. I liked laying on the picnic table in silence at the campsite. There are solar lights around the campsite and especially around the port-a- potty. I highly recommend this campsite!!

    Kathryn2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot that is easy to find. Weather did us in for the view of the stars. We will be back to try again!

  • Karen was a great host! We had everything we needed and she made sure we had extra privacy if we wanted it. She offered coffee in the morning even though she herself wasn't a coffee drinker, which was nice. And her dog was really sweet and adorable! I would definitely consider staying here again the next time I'm in Michigan.

  • Karen is very hospitable and I felt right at home when I arrived. She kindly greeted me and welcomed me in with open arms and invited me to join her and her sweet dog in the evenings if I desired to have company where we chatted about life. Karen gave great suggestions for activities and the location was close to several gems in the area.

    Leara2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Karen is such a kind and sweet lady. I honestly didn't expect this great hospitality. We just need a stay for the night as we were visiting the city for falls colors. And wow I was amazed when I reached her place. The room and bathroom were very clean and everything that you need was right there. I wish I could stay there more nights. And people with infants/ babies, this is the place you go to!! Karen has pack and play etc for babies too! I would definitely come back to Karen's place again. Thank you Karen for being such a lovely host ❤️❤️

  • Tom and Diane were great hosts! This cozy rustic cabin was stocked with everything you would need at a home away from home with still getting the out doors feel. The seasonal decor and homeade treats especially made the stay extra special. Would reccomend any day of the week!

  • Diane and Tom are the sweetest hosts ever! The cabin was such a cute little getaway stocked with everything we needed. The fireplace keeps it very warm and we were obsessed with the personal touches provided for Valentine’s Day and their amazing hospitality. Diane and Tom were very communicative and catered to our every need. We are so so happy we chose this stay. Thanks again!

  • Jerry’s place was a one of a kind experience! From the wine tasting, conversations with Jerry & the breakfast spread in the morning it was an amazing stay. We will definitely be back again!

    Maddie2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Nice farmhouse feel. Close to Mackinac bridge. Come and go as you please but still have privacy in room like a hotel. Very clean. Jerry was always checking in on us to see if we needed anything

    Aren2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jerry's farmhouse was super clean and interesting as the place was built on the site of an old farmhouse, but completely energy efficient and up to date. Jerry is an expert in grapes and winemaking and his discussion over happy-hour over these topics and others was fun. It's about 12 minutes to Mackinaw and 18 or so to Petosky. Very peaceful and quiet.

  • I was the only guest for the night but you wouldn’t know it. I got the star treatment for the wine tasting and breakfast, no shortcuts. Delicious wines and sea salt chocolates, as well as great hospitality from Jane and Jerry. Would highly recommend a stay here.

    Jennifer2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jerry’s farmhouse at the vineyard was so much more than we bargained for in an Airbnb. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was lovely. Also if you don’t get there in time for aperitif (5-7) you are definitely missing out. Skip your evening plans and do that instead, I know we are so glad we did. Jerry and his wine expertise walked us through tasting probably 8-10 different wines (For no added cost!!!) that he had produced himself with snacks to munch on along the way. He was so kind and welcoming to us we felt just like family during our stay.

    Alayna2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jerry's place was phenomenal. He provided top knotch amenities and a lovely space. Jerry is a great and generous host and will make you feel right at home.

  • Jerry Perrone is gracious and gregarious, warm and welcoming. He is passionate about his home, wines, and vineyard and is eager to share that love with you. You are sincerely in for a treat. His home is beautiful inside and out. I felt like I was at a 5-star resort. He is , most assuredly, a “mi casa/su casa” kind of host. I wish that my wife and I had been able to stay for more than one night... but we’ll definitely be back. And bringing friends along next time! Perfect place to go for couples!

  • Everything is great! Phil is such a nice guy!

    Jingyi2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what we hoped for. Great view of the stars next to the fire and our two dogs had a blast running all over the place and playing with Phil's dog as well. There wasn't any ice at the water/ice stand, but it didn't much matter to us. Other than that everything was what we expected. Would come again to stare at the stars.

    Nicholas2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is truly one-of-a-kind. The space that Phil has created is storied and deep, begs so many questions! Ultimately, it's a welcoming and comfortable space. The small touches really take these sites into the next level. You've created something amazing, Phil!

    Wesleo2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was the best! Great for star gazing and the complimentary ice was a nice plus! Would definitely go back.

  • Phil’s location is fantastic for the ultimate Up North experience! He creates a welcoming environment and has a neat collection of vintage cars peppering the landscape. We enjoyed the rustic, off-the-grid feel and partook in a bbq and music jam with locals. We brought our dog and he was in heaven! Thanks, Phil!

  • Expect excellent hospitality at Jerry's Vineyard bed & breakfast! Stayed one night with my wife & two & a half year old daughter after leaving Mackinac Island on our trip down along Lake Michigan. It is just a short 15 minute drive from Mackinaw City. Jerry was a wonderful host and had good recommendations for dinner near by and things to see/do on our road trip. The wine aperitif was unique and quite a treat. The bed and breakfast is immaculate, cleaner than most chain hotels. The breakfast had a wide assortment of fruit, pastries, coffee etc. The bedroom set in our room looked to be brand new. Toiletries such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, tissues, were included along with a hair dryer, & makeup wipes. As another guest review said, if your on the fence about staying, just do it, you won't regret it!

    Jason2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, private room with bathroom, easy check in/out. Farmhouse is out in the quiet countryside but still only an easy 10-15 min drive from Mackinaw City. Hosts were very accommodating, fresh fruit and a light breakfast provided daily, homemade wines were an awesome treat! Home is decorated with relics from the owners past travels...I would love to go back and make time for him to tell the stories behind the decor.

This Is a beautiful Victorian House with clear views of Crooked lake. This house was built in 1914, it has 5 large bedrooms each with a private bathroom. Across US 31 is a small beach area where you have access to the lake. The lake has a sandy bottom where you can walkout forever. Behind the house is the walking/cycling path.
The house sits on US 31 so there is some road noise, but the beauty of the lake with the character of the house, large private rooms, prime location at an affordable price makes this house a "fine Stay." The location is close to Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Boyne Highlands, Nub's Knob and Petoskey State Park. You can also make fun day trips to Mackinac, Cross Village and Charlevoix. Just a perfect location. Note (weekends through March you can rent the entire house . )
Across the street is an Artesian Well. Locals stop on there way to work to fill up their drinking bottles for the day from the Natural Artesian Well.

  • Wow, where do I begin?!?! We had such a lovely stay at Louisa's home! It was everything that all of the reviews say it is....Immaculate, an absolutely beautiful lake home, beautiful lake view, quiet, relaxing, I could go on and on. I've stayed in Airbnb's where I feel a little "funny" being in someone's home...but I felt like I was staying with an old friend here. It was perfect! And Louisa was so welcoming and genuine! We certainly hope - and plan - to go back when we can spend more time there and see more of the beautiful Alanson area!

Unplug and unwind at this Lake Michigan Beautiful Chalet. Nestled in the Wilderness State Park. Enjoy the view of the Mackinac Bridge, hear the waves splash the shore. State boat launch nearby. Lots of hiking, biking and fresh air. Located 11 miles from Mackinaw City. Day trip to Mackinac Island. Then settle in at the chalet for s'mores by the fire, stargazing and twinkle of the bridge lights. Perhaps a game of Euchre.

  • The cabin is a short drive to Mackinaw City and made our short family trip so easy and so pleasant. We had the 3 kids in one bedroom, my husband and I in the other upstairs room and my parents stayed in the main level bedroom. The kids had a great time playing along the beach, having s’mores in the bonfire each evening, and hearing the waves as we slept. It was a great time and we were lucky to find it!

    Roxane2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay nice amenities fantastic property with great views of the lake and stargazing . Not to mention 20 minutes from Mackinaw City and a great view of Mackinac Bridge definitely would love to come back around fall

    Jessica2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful week, despite Mother Nature not cooperating and sending unseasonably cold weather and rain our way! We still managed four days of hiking in Wilderness State Park, watched Bald Eagles skim the shoreline, and thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to The Legs Inn for dinner. The cottage was well appointed for a fun time - including a large dining table for playing board games, fire pit and upper & lower decks for stargazing. We had a wonderful time & will definitely return!

    Jennifer2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • The chalet is an awesome little place in the wilderness. We used to have a cabin on a lake and this place very much reminded us of that place. The view is fantastic and the sounds of the water at night is very soothing. One word of caution for parents of small children, the slider doesn't have a safety bar to keep the door closed while unlocked. We improvised a solution and didn't have a problem with our little escaping.

This quaint Little House is perfectly centered in between Mackinaw City and Harbor Springs, in the country, perfect for a get away. It has two sleeping areas, one bedroom and a loft.
The Little House has a fully functional kitchen and bathroom including cast iron claw-foot tub. Washer and Dryer available in the house as well. The Little House is in front of a very quiet salvage yard, which is slowly being transformed into a Junkyard Gallery.
Neighborhood is very quiet with minimal traffic. Sturgeon Bay Beach (Lake Michigan) is just 4.7 miles away and our local Store is 2.4 miles The Bliss Polo runs every summer and is located across from the Bliss Store. Very cool to watch the horses! (URL HIDDEN) Every Saturday morning during the summer months, a Farmer's Market is located near the Bliss Store and by the Bliss Fire Department to buy fresh produce, honey, and much more from the local community.
  • I surprised my parents who used to research in Pellston, MI for quick weekend trip before weather gets too cold. Phil's place was exactly what we needed from busy city life. It is very quiet and peaceful. Little House has everything you need and more. If you have a dog, Phil's dogs are very friendly to human and fur babies. Thank you for having us.

  • The Little House was a great stop for us on our fall color tour through northern Michigan! Easy check-in, the house was clean, and the view was perfect. I loved learning a bit of the history of the house and Phil and his dogs were so friendly! Thanks for the roof over our head!

    Anne2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This little house - while not large - is not a "tiny" home. You will enjoy a spacious living room, kitchen, and bathroom. The bedroom is small - but very comfortable. We didn't use the loft space - but it was clean - and I imagine it has been a favorite of kids old enough to safely access it. The vintage "junk" cars parked in a semi-circle made this property especially unique, always a selling point to me when considering which rental to book. The view across the road was lovely with fall foliage at near peak color. A peaceful, welcoming place to stay and enjoy.

  • We had a great stay at Phil’s place! The house was a close drive from Cross Village. The space was clean and just as described. I really appreciated the attention to detail and all the amenities, like the games and movies, but especially the farm fresh eggs they left for us in the morning. We would definitely go back!

  • This is a sweet little cabin in northern Michigan, and has all the charm you'd want. Check-in was easy, Janet communicated with me practically instantly, there's a cute little restaurant in town close by, and the cabin itself was perfect. We especially loved the fireplace (having visited for Thanksgiving). Highly recommend!

  • Nancy was extremely easy to communicate with. The house was perfect for our trip. It has a set of stairs right down to the water. She even left us with some food to put in the over. Couldn't have asked for more.

    Josh2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy was a wonderful host! The house is 15 minutes from Nubs Nob and we had a great time exploring the area. Great experience.

  • Nancy’s house was perfect for our getaway weekend. Plenty of space and very clean. Not pretentious—just a very comfy, family-friendly place. Comfortable beds, super fluffy towels, a well-outfitted kitchen. An easy place to relax—and only 15 minutes from the ski slopes. Great hospitality, including the homemade sticky buns waiting for us! Very happy we found this place.

  • Cozy cozy cozy little cabin. It was a perfect, warm place to hunker down during a chilly night. Did a puzzle, ordered pizza, and had a great night’s sleep. Thanks you, Luke!

  • The hosts went above and beyond to make us comfortable. I’ve never had a more enjoyable trip in my life. Beautiful location. Sauna is very special. All love.

    Keaten2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay for a weekend. The host was very helpful and the sauna was awesome! My boyfriend and I had a great time.

    Shannon2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin was super cozy, quiet, very private and the perfect little winter getaway spot. The wood fire sauna was an absolute delight! We used it four times in two days, and Luke stopped by to bring more wood before we even had to ask. As some other reviewers wrote, the clearance on the loft was pretty low, but certainly no deal breaker. We highly recommend this place and would certainly stay again! Thanks again Luke and Jack!

  • Great place to stay at.

    Dave2020-02-26T00:00:00Z

The guest cottage is a stand-alone structure on the edge of our one acre property. One room with King Bed and attached bath. Small but just right for one-two travelers who need a quiet place to sleep. The original bead board walls create a cozy atmosphere to relax. Located 1.5 miles from downtown Harbor Springs, we are a perfect location for bicyclists, runners, and winter sports enthusiasts. Petoskey is a 20 minute drive. Mackinac Island is a 40 minute drive and then a quick ferry.
Our guest cottage is a good option for affordable lodging. No kitchen or sitting area--just a bed and bath for a simple overnight solution. Small frig in cottage. Nice quiet acre to relax.
Close to town--a five minute bike ride gets you to the middle of quaint Harbor Springs. No close neighbors.
  • Great location. Close to downtown and tunnel of trees. Hosts were super friendly and accommodating.

  • Liz's place is cute and in a quiet area. We enjoyed being able to come and go as we pleased and have a cozy place to relax in. The bed wasn't super comfy (but this depends on your mattress taste, of course), but her linens were clean and I felt very comfortable! All in all, its a great place to away for two to get away from the hustle and bustle and unwind with some wonderful views!

    Allison2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was nice and affordable, clean and perfect for 2 people. The surroundings were quiet and beautiful. The location is right near Harbor Springs and the Tunnel of Trees, so great for sight seeing.

  • Liz’s place was very quaint and cozy and had everything you could need for a quick weekend get away. Everything was very clean. A good place if you need a place to sleep. There was no AC but because of the time of year we were there, that was not a problem at all. We would definitely come back here!

My home is located in rural northern Emmet County. In 30 minutes you can reach Harbor Springs, Mackinaw City, Petoskey and Cross village for unique up north shopping, dining, and outdoor recreational opportunities. Snow enthusiasts will find Boyne Highlands and Nubs Nob 20 minutes away. My home is across the road from easy access to miles of well known snow mobile trails surrounding the Moose Jaw Junction. In the summer Petoskey State Park and Sturgeon Bay offer exceptional beaches.
The room is a 20' x 22' addition to my home with a private entrance. It was designed as a bedroom/sitting room with a kitchenette area. A mini fridge, microwave, coffee pot and toaster are provided, with coffee and tea included. The large bathroom has a walk in tiled shower. Unlike some rentals ALL bed linens are washed between guests.
The Moose Jaw Junction is a five minute walk. Historic Legs Inn located in Cross Village is a must see. The food and atmosphere at both places are a true northern Michigan experience. Our Larks Lake township park is a five minute drive for easy access to launch your canoe or kayak. You will likely see bald eagles and loons on this small quiet lake.
  • Very comfortable space with in-floor radiant heating. Beautifully decorated room with large luxurious bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. Awesome place to stay in northern Michigan!

  • The White Pine Cottage on Carp Lake was an excellent choice for our stay in northern Michigan. The view from the dock on the lake is wonderful and the large back yard is great for space from neighbors if you want some alone time with friends/family around a fire. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils for cooking and the cottage space is used well with appropriate furniture that doesn't crowd the interior. The location is very convenient for traveling around northern Michigan. I highly recommend this location for an enjoyable stay!

Cabin #1 - "Chickagami" A Native American word meaning “camp by the lake.” Chickagami is a fitting name for one of the first cabins built along the water here at Lakeside Cabins. At 431 sq ft, this 2 bedroom cabin is a favorite among many.
This cabin sleeps 6, utilizing 2 bedrooms, each with a queen size bed and a futon in the living room. This cozy 431 sq ft cabin also includes a kitchen, living room, dinning space, bath and a spacious 13'x7' enclosed porch overlooking the lake. A perfect area for watching the morning sunrise. This Vintage Rustic cabin sitting on the shore of a beautifully serene lake, is one of a 7 cabin resort primarily designed for the camping & fishing enthusiast. The cabin was built in the late 1920's and holds every bit of that vintage character. A knotty pine interior creates an Up North camping style atmosphere. It's a little rough around the edges but holds the allure of days gone by. Whether you are looking for a home base to camp at the lake or a base camp while you explore the area’s attractions, you will enjoy this cozy cabin and all its imperfections. It does not have air-conditioning and the electrical outlets may not be conveniently located, but you will love the authentic charm. The bathroom is simple, the shower is warm and the kitchen has everything to cover your basic needs. Pets are welcome for an additional fee of $25 per night / per pet, paid at time of arrival if not otherwise paid.

  • Dee is an amazing host!! She is very friendly and when we asked for something she made sure we got it right away. The room was nice as well, very clean. There's canoes, kayaks, life jackets and even a little beach area with no seaweed for the kids. We definately plan to come back.

  • Wifi is fast. Close to Mackinac City. We didn't spend much time at the room since we went to the U.P. one day and Mackinac Island the next. Beds were a little too firm for us, but we were so tired we didn't care. Wish we could've spent a day at Carp Lake, but couldn't fit it in. It's a pretty lake.

  • Amazing place!!! We will be returning! Great location. We spent a day on the island, a day in petosky, a day in munising (picture rocks)... the time we were not traveling around we spent in the beautiful lake right across from motel. See has everything you need to have an amazing day on the lake!!! We had a blast!

  • Pure paradise is a wonderful place to stay. The location is excellent to many nearby attractions. The motel is located across the street from beautiful Carp Lake. What a bonus to have access to a nice lake front area with kayaks, canoes, a paddle boat & floating toys to relax on. I wish we would of had more time to enjoy the many amenities on the lake. The rooms are very clean and fully stocked. It is nice to have a fridge and cooking areas to make our own food. Dee is a wonderful host who is quick to respond if needed. She is very accommodating to her guests needs. We would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

We were gone most of the day, but it couldn't have been a better place to come back to in the evening. It was warm when we needed to get out of the cold, and cozy enough to make us feel at home. It was neat and clean, and as far as location goes, was a short drive to Mackinaw City/ferry to Mackinac Island. It's a great place to stay, and I highly recommend it.

  • We had a lovely time! The cabin is a true, up north cabin experience. It was so well stocked and every thing we could possibly need, down to small details, was in the cabin. It was bigger than expected and the back room was great for the family and kids/teenagers to hang out. We loved playing the included board games and the kids loved playing ping pong and PS3 and had a blast. Books, movies, and more are available. Looking forward to coming back during the summer and making more memories here.

(NOTE: Currently Closed. Be Well, Be Safe.) We plan to reopen Memorial Day weekend. We are located in a rustic area of northwest Michigan between Harbor Springs and Mackinaw City, within 2 miles of the Tunnel of Trees, & conveniently located for nature preserves, state parks, & hiking trails. Our home is attached to the guest suite but guests access the apartment via a secured private entrance. Our equipped kitchen has a pantry, plus fresh farm eggs, butter, cream, ground coffee, and teas.
During all seasons, guests are welcome to use our walking trails. In the Winter months, some trails may be open for snowshoeing and/or cross country skiing. (Please inquire if interested.) During summer months, yard space and a grill is available for grilling outdoors, with picnic bench.
Our property is in a rural setting, about 17 miles north of the town of Harbor Springs. Many local activities and businesses are seasonal in nature, with Harbor Springs, Petoskey, and Mackinaw City all within reasonable driving. The town of Cross Village is two miles away, with churches, two restaurants, and gift shops, primarily open for late Spring through early Autumn. The Three Pines Art studio and shop are open year round. Beautiful beaches are just minutes away. Nature preserves abound and are open year round. An International Dark Sky Park and Wilderness State Park are about 20 minutes away, along with Sturgeon Bay, and a favorite place for swimming, beach walking, and dune hiking. The annual Bliss Fest (music festival) in mid July is just two miles away.
  • Beautiful spacious space. Nice touches with fresh eggs (delicious) and the pecan bread. The bed was very comfortable and the place was very clean and well decorated which I appreciate. Good kitchen items if you want to do some cooking.

  • So beautiful place! When I came into the room. It felt so happy about this cozy and lovely place. Very clean and impressed the detail care(e.g. welcome homemade carrot cake; awesome taste, super sofe towel etc). One wish is about Wifi. It's very weak. But I really enjoyed it and want to come again :)

  • John's place was sparking clean and definitely exceeded our expectations! The location was spot on and my significant other and I were able to take the lovely tunnel of trees back and forth to harbor springs and Petoskey. The dive was thoroughly plowed and the hosts did great work keeping it clear. Will definitely be staying here our next trip up to this area.

  • Awesome spot to stay while you enjoy the area. Perfect place to rest and sleep after a long day at the slopes.

  • A lovely stay! John and his wife were very hospitable (they made banana bread!), provided thoughtful recommendations with where to visit, and have a wonderfully clean space. A perfect place to relax!

  • This was a wonderful trip, and John was incredibly inviting and communicated well...the amenities were thoughtful and very accommodating. I’m definitely going back here next time I have an extended trip to the slopes!

  • If you’re looking for a perfect place to unplug and get off the grid, this is it! John and Mary’s “FROG” apartment is a cozy spot for all seasons. Quietly nestled 20-30 minutes away from Harbor and Nub’s, we had total privacy and zero interruptions from the outside world. We were welcomed by beautiful views of the surrounding woods and beach, and lots of local tips from John about what to do up north. He and Mary are excellent hosts and made us feel right at home. The apartment is well-insulated against the cold, and charmingly designed in a farmhouse/cabin style. Comfortable bed, plenty of space, well appointed cupboards and delicious freshwater right from the tap! Bring your books, puzzles, downloaded music, and preferably four-wheel drive, because this place is perfect for a low-tech getaway. No need for strong wifi/phone service/TV, when you have the great outdoors right outside your window. We would love the opportunity to come back again soon, and enjoyed every moment of our stay here. Thanks for everything!

  • This is a beautiful place out in the northern Michigan countryside! The surrounding environment is lovely, the woodwork and artwork are exceptional, the kitchen is well appointed and the bed is very comfortable. John was friendly, helpful and provided us with great tips for enjoying the surrounding nature conservancy areas. Our hike to the Lake Michigan shoreline through the Woodlam Preserve was gorgeous during this winter solstice. The trail was a close ride away. We were delighted with our stay and loved the special details. The space was supremely clean which is always appreciated!! They provided lovely touches like fresh eggs, butter, and cream in the frig and homemade banana bread and coffee. We enjoyed talking with John and sharing experiences.
