Amazing place right in front of the ocean. Unfortunately didn’t get to see the northern lights or the seals but it was definitely still worth the stay. Had an amazing new year night with the locals around and their fireworks. Insane.

Kári's apartment was absolutely wonderful. The kitchen was perfect for us to cook small hot meals after a day's travels. It's proximity to the national park made it a perfect home base for our hikes. We also got very lucky with the timing of our stay, because the northern lights were visible from the back deck at night. The furniture was all cozy, and the apartment was clean. We'd happily stay there again on our next trip!

I don't know where to begin...this place was amazing! You won't find a better view ANYWHERE! We went to sleep each night with lady Aurora dancing above and awoke each morning to the funny seals down below! The apartment is spacious and comfortable - Oskar & Lareen are so hospitable and a joy to meet, if you are lucky enough. We bumped into a little hiccup upon arrival but they quickly rectified! Hellissandur is a perfect town with plenty to see and we will DEFINITELY be back. The street art is such a great sight to see as well... I could go on and on!! You won't be disappointed if you stay at Brenna!

I enjoyed staying in this lovely apartment. Huge space with furnished kitchen, big dining room, comfortable furniture. Can easily accommodate someone staying for a few days or a week. Didn't see the northern lights nor seals the night I was there, but there was a lovely sunrise visible from the balcony and the national park is very close.

Lovingly decorated and very thoughtful and eager hosts. Always available and committed. Hellissandur is perfect for exploring the national park. The old fish factory with the Street Art Gallery is a must. Be sure to walk around completely. The sea side is fantastic.

This place is very special and the exposure to street art in Hellissandur an unexpected treat! We loved it and would have stayed more days to explore the area more and relax in this comfy and historic home if we could have!

Couldn't recommend the place more. Clean, well-equipped and spacious. The staff are lifesavers as well. We got caught ogling at the northern lights around 2am only to realize we locked ourselves out...The host answered the phone at 2am and had us back inside within 5 minutes. Cant express our gratitude enough.

Awesome house! Lots of books! The host encourages you to take a book and leave one in return. Its a cosy space with 1 bed room - one double bed, 2 bunk beds. Kitchen amenities were moderate. But the house was neat and clean. We even got to see the northern lights right in front of the apartment 😁

Recommended place to stay, the apartment has a library with probably over 500 books which was a surprise. Close (short drive) to lots of the attractions of the national park.

Small apartment with all the services you need.

Quaint and cozy house in the little town of Hellissandur, north of Snæfellsjökull. Didn't realised check out time was at 10am but the owner only gently reminded us at 11am. Greatly appreciate their patience!

Ragnheiður’s apartment is an old apartment in the first floor. It is simple, yet has everything you need. As long as you don't expect a stylish place, it is great. The price reflects the standard and value for money good. Ólafsvik is a cosy small town by the ocean worth a stopover.

Ragnheiður’s place was better than what we expected. It had more than enough space for two people and would've been perfect if there were was a family of 4. It had a very welcoming and home-y interior. I only stayed 1 night but would've liked to have stayed a few a more nights. We were able to wash some laundry that night and, hung dry the clothes for the next day. Definitely worth a long term stay at Ragnheiður’s place.

The landlord is a very artistic person, there are a lot of warm little things in the room, and there are a lot of CDs, the room is very clean~

Great stay experience, facing the sea, more fortunate we saw the aurora. The kitchen utensils are complete, there is actually a rice cooker, it is a surprise. The landlord offers a lot of table games, as well as a lot of cd records. If you come to the peninsula, you can't miss it.

The place was great!! Lovely views and good tips/maps posted on the wall for activities and a local walk (definitely recommend if you do this if you have some time in the evening). The place was very clean and had a full and spacious kitchen. If you have time I would recommend a 2 night stay so you have ample time to explore the park.

We saw the northern lights for the first time straight off the patio (albeit faint), so this place was already great in my book. But even apart from that the space was clean and since we were the only guest, we got the whole place to ourselves. The shared area had everything you might need. Lisa's was prompt with the replies and check in was a breeze. Highly recommended.

I had a really nice stay here. It is a great place to be based if you are touring Snaefellsnes. The location is perfect to reach all the peninsula has to offer. It is clean, comfortable and quite large. Jirina Tina was very quick to respond to any questions I had and the check-in was super easy even though she wasn't home. I would highly recommend this place.

We really enjoyed our stay at Jirina's home in Olavsvik. The apartment is in a well maintained old building, it keeps all the charm of an old home with all the comforts (and the warmth!). The house was spotless and we felt like at home as soon as we arrived. One can see that our host has taken great care in making our stay pleasant; for instance the apartment had all type of useful basic supplies. Also Jirina was very nice to provide some toys for our kids to play during our stay, we really appreciated it! Our children loved the little garden outside plus the large square in front of the house where they could run around. In 5 minutes walk you can see a beautiful waterfall (it was not mentioned anywhere in our guide, but I guess because it is "small" for Iceland scale of things, still worthy the walk there!). We were there only 2 nights but I think it is a great accommodation also for longer stays. The place is truly magic with the kitchen views of the triangular church and the waterfall. I can say that our stay at Jirina's home is one of our best AirBnb experiences. The attention to detail and thinking ahead of the needs of the travelers truly makes a host stands out. This place really has it all!

The place is actually much larger than expected. We had three guests in our party so we had the whole place to ourselves, which we liked. It is cozy and very comfortable, and the location couldn't be better. You are so close both to the national park and to the road that cuts through the peninsula so you can reach the south side (where Arnarstapi, Hellnar, etc. are located). Jirina TIna was also very sweet and helped us find an amazing place to see the sunset. We saw the best sunset--maybe of our lives--thanks to her advice. Thank you!

Nice location in Olafsvik, you get an entire floor to yourself. Tina is a good host, welcomed us and was there should be need something.

Had a great one-night stay at Inga and Oli’s place!

This place had a-bit-like-home feeling for us and we enjoyed our stay there. It was quiet yet close to the main road and not far away from grocery shop and petrol station. We got all instructions in advance and the self check-in was easy. The place was spotlessly clean and you can see Inga and Oli care about hygiene a lot. Spacious well equipped kitchen and lounge with stunning views. There is a shower room with toilet and separated restroom with basin and mirror. We appreciated it especially in the morning when all the guests were getting ready at the same time. Our room was cosy and simple but had everything we needed, comfy beds plus window with sea view, really nice to falling asleep/waking up listening to the waves :)

Inga and Oli’s place “Bikers Paradise” was amazing. Initially I was a bit set back from the idea of staying with other guests in the same house (shared common spaces, kitchen, bathrooms), but it proved to be a blessing in disguise! I met some lovely people who I continued with on my trip and Oli was super hospitable. When the power went out he searched for places for us to get power and warm meals and even helped me with my car problems by walking to check if the car repair place was open despite the power outage. The place is very clean and organized and easy to use. Access and communication were key here. Recommendation: if you are driving there in the winter Do Not use the mountain overpass. It is worth driving around the north part of the peninsula. Overall thank you Inga and Oli and I hope one day I can stay again.

I feel very good. If you have the opportunity to come back, you will choose this place.

Olafsvik is a pleasant town. And one of the best locations if you plan to go around West Fjords, namely the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. It even has a amazing waterfall in the backyard! Also, it’s less than 10 minutes to two other well-known waterfalls with the backdrop of the Snaefellsnes Glacier (on a clear day). Moreover, the most photographed mountain, Kirkjufell, is just 12-15mins away, too! Lisa’s place is very homey and cozy. Since we rented just one room, we have other people in the apartment too, which was absolutely grand since we got to know other people and hear about their stories, as well. We love that there’s a kitchen! And the common room has very good lighting. Plus the view of the harbor is great! We would definitely love to stay here again.

We really liked our stay at Lísa‘s guesthouse. Everything was absolutely clean. The shared rooms (kitchen, living room and two bathrooms) are big. The kitchen is equipped with all that is needed. We definitely recommend a stay here!

Great location, in a really romantic and pleasant town, where the walk by the Port or the waterfall is a relax for a long day of excursion. Lisa's house is perfect for a large group like ours or for individuals because each room has its own key. It is cozy and clean. We arrived on Tuesday October 10 and saw the most beautiful auroras of our trip to go up the mountain from our balcony, but I recommend going out to the town and enjoy such a wonder of different perspectives and in the darkest thing you find. A great place to get an early start to explore the Snæfellsjokull National Park. They host events most nights of the week, but check the schedule, as some nights are “chill nights”, with no events. If you’re looking for social interactions, you could hit it on an off night. Clean rooms, comfy beds, very fun spaces.

Very cosy cabin with all amenities needed for our stay. Warm, plenty of hot water, spotlessly clean, quality bed linen. Communication very easy and directions accurate. Cabin is situated in the most picturesque location about 100m from Brimilsvellir church. Highly recommended.

We had a really great stay here and we really enjoyed the views and access to the beach. The accommodation was very cosy, check-in was easy (we were met in person) and there is plenty to see in the local area.

I was lucky twice: beautiful weather in Iceland *and* a perfect stay at the Brimilsvellir farm. Veronika welcomed me and gave some suggestions for restaurants. (I ended up in SKER, with good food and friendly service.) As mentioned by many others in the reviews, the walk to the church, beach, and horses is a must, especially at the end of May around 11:00 PM when the sun sets (sort of). In the morning I took the same walk to the church and the beach again.

A cozy accommodation in a courtyard surrounded by paddocks. Pass the (open) church and walk down to the sandy beach. From our small window we could watch a beautiful sunset over the sea. Here you would also endure several days well - only the cooking facilities are missing. But at least a shared refrigerator is available. From the hosts we only met the man, this speaks German better than English.

We had a great stay here. Veronika greeted us at the location and showed us our room. She was very helpful with restaurant suggestions and told us about a hike on their farm that led to the beach. It is a very beautiful location to stay in and Veronika and her family were great. Thank you, Veronika.

I and my family stay at Christian place during late September. We really enjoyed our stay here. Location was great right in the town center and not far at all from Kirkjufell. All the amenities work perfectly and Christian was being such a considerate host and provide all the info you need. 5 star for sure

This is a wonderful private apartment with 2 bedrooms and a wonderful kitchen and bathroom. Right across is the grocery store. Very close to the water front and in the main center area. Very clean home. The best is we saw the northern lights right from the house. Couldn't have asked for more.

The BEST FOSS in Iceland! Others have reviewed Tryggvi’s place as the best Airbnb in Iceland. I’ve stayed in about a dozen places all over Europe and US. This was by far my best experience. The bedding (mattress, pillows and sheets) were all wonderful. Everything else was great. The shower (foss) gets 12 points on a 10 point scale. The only thing that was lacking was coffee filters.

We enjoyed our stay at Tryggvi’s. Very comfortable apartment with clear instructions. Kitchen was well equipped. Supermarket right next door was convenient.

We spent two nights at Veronica's place, which is located near the beach close to Ólafsvík. The interior seemed brandnew and was very clean. The shared bathroom was spacious and the fridge was big enough to store some basic food. Veronica is very nice and told us a nice spot where to go to the beach. Overall a pleasant experience.

The summer house at Brimsvellir is absolutely beautiful. The setting and views are spectacular and the house itself is really cozy and clean. It was really easy to find and check-in was quick and easy. I would absolutely recommend it and will be returning the next time I'm in Iceland!

This location does provide the best opportunity to see the Northern Light as we had on our very first night stay. Just awesome! Close to town and Sker at Olafsvik would be your must go restaurant - great food, great views and great service. Highly recommended when exploring the Snaefellsjokull National Park.

We had an amazing stay at Veronika’s. It’s a charming, beautiful property. It’s also situated so that the window faces the ocean, and the North, so that we were able to see the Northern Lights through our window. Amazing!

This place is a horse-lover's dream. But even if you aren't drawn by Veronika's horses, it's still a fantastic place to stay. There were only two of us but her place could sleep many people comfortably. Best wifi speed we've had in the country. Kitchen extremely well-stocked with cooking gear, condiments and foodstuffs. Spacious but yet extremely comforting. And the views! Don't rely solely on Google Maps navigation as it will tell you you have arrived a kilometer or so befor you actually have reached the farm. Follow Veronika's directions instead!

Veronica u. Gunnar are great hosts. The beautiful u. cozy wooden house is located in a fantastic location. The view over the meadows with the many Iceland ponies on the sea was unique. There was nothing wrong with us. Thank you, we will gladly come again.

The Freezer is a peculiar hostel, mainly because of its decoration and the warmness of the place. We loved hanging out in the main living room/ bar, drinking beer and playing board games to relax after a long road. The rooms are cosy, however please note there are only two bathrooms and toilets which could be a problem if the place is full, just wait for your turn. But a couple more wouldn't hurt for everyone's comfort. Anyway, we loved the good vibes there. Definitely recommended.

Very good starting point for an exploration of the peninsula. Unfortunately no big area nearby, it is necessary to be satisfied with the stores with the fuel pumps of the neighboring villages. The place itself is very nice, the common area is huge with many small corners allowing you to isolate yourself a bit as a board game with passing travelers. Guitar and keyboard available for musicians. Kitchen equipped properly but no more. Coffee machine type distributor.

Great, very large lounge area with many opportunities to relax. Walls very thin. Right next to the kitchen and the bathroom is therefore not to be expected with a lot of sleep.

The Freezer is truly an amazing place with wonderful people, a beautiful atmosphere, and a great location. Can't recommend it enough!

The apartment is very new with stylish touches all around the place. We had a very comfortable stay as a family of four with two adult children, and the kitchen is very complete with utensils as well. The apartment is brightly lit and very comfortable. The only con is that it's rather humid in the area so clothes took a very long time to dry, but we found that cracking the window helps a little bit with that, and it more of an environmental variable as a whole than anything with the house. It's in a cute little village with the supermarket nearby and a convenient distance from the Snaefellsnes attractions. Our hosts Adele and Joey were also very attentive and responsive. If I'm in the area again I would definitely come back!

The apartment itself is quite spacious for a family of 4 and has been maintained immaculately. It is located close to the national park and other attractions on the west peninsula. A great find!

Kristin’s apartment was one of the best apartment that we stayed in Iceland during our 2 weeks ring road trip in Iceland. Apartment is very nicely equipped with everything that is required for a family of 4. There was lot of attention to detail in making sure that our stay was comfortable, which is really appreciated. Kids loved sleeping on the bunk bed and the only regret I had was that 1 night stay was too short to enjoy this lovely apartment at an excellent location. Thank you Kristin.

The accommodation was a lovely place to stay, very clean, quiet and beautiful. Awesome view from the balcony of the accommodation. You will will find everything you need for a perfect stay. For our next trip to island in one of the next summers we will definitely book this one again.

The view is awesome, the place was clean and spacious, and Óskar was kind enough to let us check-in a little bit earlier. As some other reviews mentioned, the lock on the door can be tricky, but it's not too bad, and there were a few dead flies near the windows. All in all, I would recommend this place.

A warm stylish apartment right above the sea.

We booked this accommodation at the end of our tour of Iceland. Already on entering we had thanks to the window front a huge view of the sea beyond. The location of the house as well as the view are fantastic. We did not want to leave the place and enjoyed a comfortable day at the property. From the balcony you can even admire the northern lights provided the sky is cloudless. Very tasteful decor of the living room, with a nice bookshelf and a great selection of music including the music system. The only drawback which we had to determine was the cleanliness. Compared to the approximately 6 other accommodations we had, it was not very clean in the bathroom and especially in the kitchen. We had the feeling that no one has lived here for some time, since the kitchen was a bit dusty, which was not the problem. The dishes were not clean, despite dishwasher, so we have washed for ourselves again. In the bathroom or in the bathroom cabinet were also still hair from the predecessors in it. Nevertheless, we can recommend the accommodation, as the great location and the facilities are great and we had a wonderful time.

Nice place in a little village! The place is big with an amazing view!

The place is really great. The beds are extremely comfortable, the view is breathtaking, with seals right below the balcony. We saw northern lights from the balcony and enjoyed the classical music. It is great to visit various places from here. When it is windy, it can get a little bit cool, so be sure to bring some warm socks if you plan to stay here in winter, then you will be totally fine. Communication was very easy and fast. The hosts are very friendly and cooperative if you have any special requests. Next time we visit Iceland we will definetly stay here again, but maybe a bit longer. :-)

This place was perfect for my husband’s and my Icelandic winter adventure. With the crashing waves and howling wind, I joked to my husband that I felt like I was in an Ernest Hemingway novel. Outside may have been cold and harsh, but inside was modern, cozy, and warm. Accurate description and great location! Even in the winter, we saw seals and lots of birds. We even saw the Northern Lights on a “weak night” (which only shows as white streaks).

A sea view room that is completely beyond expectations. If the weather is good, you can sit on the balcony and look at the sea in a daze and find the house and entrance according to the instructions given by the housekeeper. I hope to have a chance to come again

Unique place to stay! Every little detail is worth remembering! The ocean view is magnificent, especially when a storm is coming. Music and books selection to accompany your staying. Bird watching through the window and gazing at the boats struggling to escape the storm.

We spent a lovely few days in this beautiful apartment- very easy check in with great amenities which meant we could partly self cater during our trip. We loved watching the seals outside the window and falling asleep to the sound of the waves in a very comfortable bed!

Really lovely place for a stop-over! Beautiful views out of the kitchen window across the sea, and you're really close to the hills and waterfalls. Everything worked pretty straight-forward, the place is very warm and clean, so I'd come back anytime! :-)

Was looking for a last minute place in Ólafsvík so I could wake up early and explore Snaesfellnes. Lisa’s place was perfect.

My hubby and I stayed here for 1 night while exploring West Iceland for 2 days. Check-in was easy, the location was great (in the middle of main attractions), and the room and shared spaces were spotless. Our beds and linens were clean and very comfortable. Lisa left some ramen and noodles for everyone in the kitchen. The walls of our bedroom were slightly thin so we could hear our neighbors chat earlier in the day but everybody was respectful of noise and bedtime so it was never an issue. Def recommend if you plan on spending the night on this side of the island.

Lisa’s place is sparkling clean. The kitchen has all sorts of supplies for guests to cook. Her response is very quick. The location is great with both mountain and ocean view. We really enjoy our stay at Lisa’s place.

Place is as described. and well furnished. kitchen is very functional. I did cook a full meal in the kitchen and had everything I needed. Lots of places to sit (three different tables), which is nice. Good view of the small town too. Loved it. Would come back and would recommend.

Beautiful town, amazing landscape. If you are lucky you can have amazing northern lights from the outskirts of the town. pretty well equipped kitchen, just missing an oven. Accommodation fully recommended and the sleep very attentive and helpful

Bikers Paradise 3 is in a wonderful location to explore the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. It had a bit of a hostel feel to it, but it was very clean and the other guests were pleasant. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Iceland again. Recommended for others visiting the area.

Inga has received us personally and very warmly. The small house offers everything you could wish for and is super nicely decorated. It was busy, so it felt like a hostel, but that did not bother us. We would definitely come again!

The house is nice and the location is easy to find. The room was also very clean and tidy, because it was not a self-check-in, just happened to be in the situation where the landlord was not there, so it was not very convenient. The feeling of living in the whole is still ok.

Perfect place to stay on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Located within a short drive of everything you could want to see there. Beautiful little costal town with great food and atmosphere. Host was extremely friendly and informative. Highly recommended

The location is perfect for touring the Snaefellnes peninsula, two restaurants within walking distance towards the town. With both rooms full (as in our case) and with one bathroom, it felt a bit crowded. Nattskjol met us when we came in and offered to help in case we had any questions.

The house is in a really nice area, with a nice view, perfect for 4 people, or more. We only stayed for one night, so it was a good solution for us. The host also gave us some tips and showed us some pictures of the area.

We were blown away by the natural landscape of Snæfellsnes Peninsula, but The Freezer was so nice to come home to! Kind, helpful staff. Loved their philosophy of saving resources, building community, and providing cultural events!

The hotel offers a HUGE common room, well insulated phonically. Top to find travelers like us. Cleanliness and place, nothing to complain about. Shared kitchen, well equipped but a little small, but you will enjoy a beer while waiting for your cooking tour. I recommend !

Wonderful stay in a charming location!

Best location in a quiet fishing village! When I opened the door, I could see the church and the waterfall far away. The interior space is large and the washing machine and dryer are convenient. I stayed for a day with my parents, but my parents liked it conveniently and neatly.

This property was very clean and the ability to do laundry was a nice amenity to have! definitely recommend this Airbnb as a quick overnight stop.

Good location for the western peninsular!

The apartment is nicely located near the Snaefellsjokull national park which we visited. Olafsvik is a quiet town with a public pool, market right next door to the apartment, a small sandy beach and several restaurants. The apartment has everything you need with a shower, kitchen, parking lot, washer and dryer.
