Cosy timberhouse built ca 1920, located in Hellesylt sentrum. Short way to many of the countrys most known tourist attractions. The ferry to Geiranger has its starting point in walk distance from the house. In Hellesylt there are many hiking routs, as the old post road over the mountain Ljøbrekka, the road over the mountain to Flo in Stryn. At Skylstad in Norangsdalen the route to Slogen starts. To Norangsdalen and Øye Hotel you can go by car (23km). Strandafjellet skiresort with gondola (34km)
The house has gone trough å big facelift the latest years, and has a good atmosphere. The bathroom is now under construction, and will be ready for the summer season 2020, new pictures will come when it is finished. Electric cars can not be charged from the houses wiring, because of the fuse capasity, but one of our guests told that the Coop store has a charger that can be rented.
Hellesylt is a small charming villlage, with a buzzing life in the summertime. Cruiseships come to the harbour several times a week, for those who want's it there are still an option to have a peaceful time. From Hellesylt you have short way to many hiking routes. Coffebar 20-30 mtr, restaurant/pizza/pub max 100mtr, 2 grocerystores ca 50mtr.
  • What a wonderful experience I had in Hellesylt and the wonderful house of Hans and Elins. The house is very neat and rural and atmospheric. That house is close to two large supermarkets. The location is convenient and can easily cross with a ferry to Geirangerfjord or can explore the surroundings in Hellesylt. There are also beautiful things to see in Hellesylt. In short, back to basic and away from the crowds. Just chilling!

  • Hans & Elin’s cozy house was spectacular, far exceeding any expectations we had when we arrived in Hellesylt. The location was great, adjacent to two small grocery stores, the ferry terminal, and the waterfront. The house itself was in great condition, newly renovated with touches of history from this unique place, while also opening up to the fjord with some wonderful views. We highly recommend staying here while in the area.

  • The house is very clean and comfortable. Located in center of the town and grocery market, restaurants are nearby.
  • Roar was a lovely host and gave us great local advice upon our arrival at the cabin (as well as getting the cabin nice and warm prior to our arrival). The cabin was great: amazing views, under floor heating, as well as a wood burner. Great spot to explore the Gerainger fjord and the surrounding areas.

    Liam2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Roar's farm was absolutely amazing. It was spacious, beautifully located. The list goes on. I would definitely, definitely stay here again as it was one of the most beautiful places we stayed at during our time in Norway.

    Marcel2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy place with fantastic views, perfect place for both - recreation and relaxation!

    Peteris2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Roar's apartment. He is a great host and the physical beauty of his location is outstanding. We hope we will have the chance to come back some day. We have no problem recommending his place to others.

    Peter2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Excelent place and a very good host! we loved staying at his house, very spacious and we had everything we needed. If you need tips where to hike or what to visit, just ask Roar and he will help you. We were adviced to visit Alnes, it was amazing! We recommand staying at his place!

    Zsolt2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We spent some fantastic days (despite the rainy weather) at Roar's house, which was always aware of us, even approached the town to pick us up on arrival because we get a little clueless. The house is a real home. The place one of the gates of paradise.

    Francisco2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, cozy apartment on the mountain with great views from the terrace. Host Roar is very friendly, helpful and great tips for hiking.

    Thomas2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is nice and functional. It has the necessary equipment for a pleasant stay. It is quietly located while being relatively close to the village of Hellesylt. The surroundings are very pleasant as well as the welcome from Roar who was considerate and very friendly

You will find Knutegarden between the high Sunnmørsalpane. Apartment; is an annexe to the main residence, with private entrance and private garden. This is on a farm, and there are several farms in the village .It is a fully opprativ farm.
Located on Øye, in the district of Ørsta, our community lies on the Sunnmøre in north western part of Norway. Norangdal is a small community (only 70 year round residents) and farming is still an important part of every day life for us. We have a lively village with a variety of activities and cultural events. The "Knutegarden and Norangdalen" is surrounded by the"Sunnmørs Alps",and here you can see the mountains plunge vertically into the fjord from an amazing height of 1500-1600 metres .The variety of scenery between peak and fjord reflects Norway in miniature, and has something to offer you at every season! Norangdalen is a beautiful place! We love to have visitors and we only ask that you help us keep our community beautiful by showing the birds, animals, trails, woods, and mounts the respect that they deserve.
The Pride of the Valley; Hotel Union Øye, with its majestic structure was build in 1891 by A. Scheldrup. It has been a favourite venue of royalties, writers and lovers for generations. The 27 rooms, all of which are individually furnished with carefully selected antiques, are named after notables who have stayed here: Kaiser Wilhelm, King Oscar, Queen Maud and Princess Victoria; the authors Karen Blixen, Knut Hamsun and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle; the composer Edvard Grieg, playwright Henrik Ibsen and the explorer Roald Amundsen, to mention but a few. - See more at: http://www.unionoye.no Lygnstølsvatnet. (26.5.1908) A big rockslide from the mountain Keipen blocked the road and dammed the river. In a short time all of the small mountain-farms (called "sel or sæter"), trees, stonefences, and the road found themselves at the bottom of a newly created lake. We still can see where the old road disappears into the lake, and the old stonewalls from the "sel" under the water (you can see it from the new road). This has become a popular lake for diveing. Urasætra. Urasætra is an area of small mountain farms (sel/sæter). In days long ago, the young girls from Norangdal used the "Urasætra" every summer for grazing and milking the cows. Some of the "sel" have been restored, and the owners are using them as recreational cottages. But, every summer you can still see the cows and sheep grazing in and about Norangdalen, also around the Urasætra. Villa Norangdal This historic hotel was built in 1885, and is now being lovingly restored by its newest proprietor Iris Fivelstad. With the restoration almost finished, generations in the Stranda/Ørsta area will be able to continue to enjoy its oldest hotel! Located just 13 km from "Knutegarden-Norangdal", in" Haugen". http://norangdal.com/about-us/ Slogen (1564 m.a.s) is our most famous mountain in this area. It`s less then 10 minutes walk from "Knutegarden" to reach the trail. Start: Øye or Skylstad. Time: 4 hours up,3 hours down. In parts steep and demanding. Good footware a must. Geiranger! It is not long drive through the majestic Norangsdalen to Hellesylt (20-30 min). From Hellesylt you can take the ferry through Geirangerfjord and to Geiranger.
  • Edith was a fantastic host. Prior to my arrival she sent me weather updates, ferry timetables, hiking tips and shopping tips. She met me in person and showed me round the house - even explained to me the safety evacuation procedure! The place is pretty and very cosy, and the location very peaceful.

    Daniel2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • WOW!! Words can’t describe how magical this place is. Norangdal blew our minds with its natural beauty- dramatic mountains, lakes, creeks, waterfalls and completely authentic life imbedded in nature. The highlight of our trip was meeting Edith and staying in her special home. Edith is an absolute darling. She was so generous and thoughtful going above and beyond to make our stay as perfect as it was. She gave us great advice for exploring the area and even had a fire going and some hot chocolate waiting for us after spending the day doing the most epic hike on the mountain we could see from the living room window. My boyfriend and I will definitely be coming back again and I would highly recommend staying here. Best Airbnb ever!!!!!!❤️✨

    Staji2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Edith greeted us with some homemade chocolates and a warm fire which was much needed from the cold day. She helped us out with some ingredients that we were missing. The house was really clean and comfortable. As a bonus, the surrounding area is absolutely stunning. You can see a huge waterfall from the living room.

    Daniel2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great and spacious apartment. Edith even helped us out with breakfast when we didn’t bring enough ourselves. Also very close to the fjord with a nice view. I can only recommend it.

    Maximilian2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • You MUST stay here! Edith and Jon are phenomenal hosts and staying here was the highlight of our entire trip. We've stayed at 50+ airbnbs and Edith and Jon's is our favorite. The sweetest, friendliest couple that made us feel at home from beginning to end. The space is huge (it's more like a two level private home than an apartment), the valley they are located in is stunningly picturesque (so many waterfalls!) and Edith gave such sweet touches like picking some plums for us when we arrived, giving us homemade chocolates and letting us hear her beautiful singing. Edith and Jon invited us to a fish dinner in their historic "milkmaid" cottage about a 10 minute drive from their home and we had the BEST evening. A memory we will cherish for a lifetime. We can't wait until we can make a return trip to Edith and Jon's home!

  • We loved staying at Synnøve place. It's such a lovely house - very interesting and a bit like stepping back in time - but with all the modern amenities. Synnøve also introduced us to some Norwegian delicacies such as waffles with brown cheese and jam - very tasty. Synnøve and Hans are the prefect hosts and we hope we will stay there again. The cows and little carves at their farm were also very cute! The house is also very convenient for a trip up Geiranger Fjord.

  • This house has so much charactere and was so big that it was a real pleasure to return to it each of the 5 nights we spent there. The view was great, my daughter loved the dog of the owner, we could hear the lambs near the house each time we went out. We had a great breakfast each morning and every body we met were extra nice with us. This is place we will remember for a long time.

    Yves2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magical. The surrounding mountains are truly breathtaking. The sheep are hilarious. Synnøva is a true host in all the best ways. Truly enjoyed our stay here.

    Victoria2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had great time here, we hear a lot for stories about the farm, about the old house itself, and it was an interesting experience! We had all the comfort there and could rest well after long hikes. thanks a lot!

    Nina2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the time we spent at the accommodation and the adjoining farm. Synnøve was very nice in sharing information about Norway, the region and her life on the farm, not to mention her great breakfast !

    Bertrand2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • One of the highlights of our Norway road trip. A beautifully restored 1800s Norwegian farmhouse that also provides updated modern amenities. Located just outside of Hellesylt, it is a short car ride to town to catch the Fjord cruise. Hosts were excellent people that provided great local tips and interesting history about the farm and area. I really could have stayed much longer. Hope to return someday. Highly recommend.

    Dan2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • A charming and pleasant accommodation, outside of the ordinary. Pleasant host who welcomed us, and welcomed us well during our stay. Tip: Set aside time to go hiking while in the area. The hosts give good advice on hiking opportunities - take advantage of it!

    Anne Margrethe2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great stay! Everyone made us feel very welcome and the experience of staying in such an old but beautifully restored house was quite unique. It felt almost like staying a night at the museum. The individual rooms are a treasure trove of the history of the house. The kitchen and bathroom, though, are quite modern and well equipped so you get to feel the past but without losing out on modern comforts. Also, I should add, it is very clean. Synnove made us a delicious breakfast every morning that was more than enough for the two of us and we especially loved the waffles. She was always very warm and friendly and even showed us their cows up close before we left. The location is beautiful too, it was quite atmospheric to watch the fog descend from the mountains each evening with a cosy fire in the stove (which was kindly prepared for us by Synnove's son). Hellesylt and the ferry to Geiranger is only a short drive away and Synnove gave us a great tip to drive through a close-by valley on our onward travel which was quite spectacular as well (although I can't quite recall the name). We would love to come back and stay a bit longer. Don't hesitate if you're thinking about booking this, you won't regret it.

Join an intimate and caring atmosphere in our rustic farmhouse villa from 1901. We take great notice of the history of the house and letting you in on our journey of refurbishment, from being a farmland to a golf course and Bed&Breakfast service, and invite you to get an insight into our plans for the near future. We invite you to go foraging with us and to pick your own organic vegetables in our garden for your dinner.
If you would like a good description of the house and the atmosphere, please read the following poem written by one of our guests few years ago! (See bottom of this page!) Also, read the feedback from all of our other lovely guests. They got it all right *** We would also like to point out that we are conveniently located in the midst of all the high lights of our region. However, if you would like ocean view you need a good sense of imagination or look further. We are only five minutes away from the fjord, but are located in the valley surrounded by high mountains. Popular high peak climbs are in immediate reach from our Bed & Breakfast. If you stay for three days or more you may have time to check out some of our "hidden" attractions as well! In our area there is unfortunately not many restaurant to chose among. We therefore offer our own vegetarian, organic and local food servings! If you would like to enjoy our popular dinners, please book in advance before your arrival! In this "plastic fantastic" world that we are living in - we are happy to provide something else. We are having an environmental focus on premises that we hope that you share! We encourage you to stay more days with us and enjoy the facility on our premises. Play some golf on our golf course or driving range, go for an immediate hike, go kayaking/canoeing, fishing in our rivers, or join in one of our local events. RETREAT and enjoy the pace of a slower lifestyle. We are only five minutes drive away from the Geiranger fjord - which is on UNESCO's World Heritage List. A climb in the Geirangerfjord to one of the steep located mountain farms is a must do or chose some of our other popular climbs in the nearby Alps! Our rustic villa is off the main tourist track, but close enough to easily jump back on if you would like. Our concept is a family run business open all year around. We run a 9 holes golf course in the midst of the mountain. The golf course has an easy access from the main road and only 50 meters from your bedroom. We appreciate a good talk and feel happy to be influenced by our colorful guests. During the year we organise yoga classes, therapeutic treatments and self development courses. We accept long stays for clients undergoing therapeutic treatments. We have a focus on ART on the golf course. Each year we invite artists from around the world to come and join in on a project in our annual Art Week in the midsummer week. NB: Our rustic Villa is always undergoing renovation and we have a far way to go before we are finished. We consider the work an everlasting one, an undergoing piece of ART and a lifestyle! Our greatest hope is to be able to look well after the piece of heritage that has been handed down to us throughout generations. The land has been in the family since the 1500, the farmhouse as it is today has been there since the end of the 1800. Your stay with us will contribute greatly; your encouragement and your positive attitude will keep us going. We are taking great consideration into keeping the authenticity of the farm house while doing the required and needed refurbishment. We now have two new bathrooms on 2nd floor and a new well with clean running water for your convenience. In the following years we will have great focus on updating the rooms. In 2017 we will also have added new facilities in the barn where different activities will be held during the year. I 2017 we will also be celebrating our golf course 25th Jubilee! You may be interested in enjoying our signature dinner here: our popular RAW and LOCAL food served in the barn? There are several buss correspondances from Ålesund and Oslo, but plan well ahead. Travelling on the west coast takes a lot longer time than most travellers do expect. NB: The advice from our travellers is to at least stay 3-4 days with us in order to get the most out of your stay! Public transport existing but rare. Suitable for travelers with a car. **** You are welcome to join us in the living room for a good chat, cup or tea/ coffee if you please! If you prefer more distance and privacy we respect your wish. Cheers, Team Hansen-Overvoll ************************************************************* POEM. REF. FROM ONE OF OUR LOVELY GUESTS. YOU - Norwegian Woods You are single, a couple, or a group of fifteen who like staying together in the intimate atmosphere of an 1900 farmhouse. You really don’t mind a bit of nip in the air and clouds above your brow on the eighth, when the rest of Europe is steamy hot. You like to dry your wet socks by a birch-fired iron-side antique-corner stove. You like hand-carved glasses that are not a full set. You worship a banquet of Norwegian breakfast delights, gorgonzola Tilsit and brown cheeses paired up with two types of caviar, three types of fish, farmfresh eggs, four types of bread, and Norwegian jam-filled pancakes. You unwind by a an old six-paned window gazing out at the mountain tree slopes thrusting up behind the grass-covered cowshed roof. You collect blueberries and cranberries and wild strawberries and raspberries and emporium berries near the river and upper mountain slopes with glee. You, escape plastic sterility, seeking a floor layout that is not a perfect 10 x 10 x 10. YOU - The Overvolls are waiting for you in the midst of green meadows and a 9 holes golf course in Stranda Valley, a glacier-cut gorge above Geiranger, the King of Norway's Fjords. Come stay with us in this UNESCO heritage site and enjoy a true respite with other relaxed, creative, generous guests!
  • Fantastic location and fantastic host in a beautiful nordic mountain valley. Food was exceptional and the local tips on where to see made the day perfect. We recommend to anyone. 5 stars!

  • We had high expectations due to the great reviews, but they were exceeded. Friendly welcoming upon arrival, lovely rooms, very comfortable bedding, fully equipped bathrooms, super clean and small attentions everywhere like a hair dryer, additional towels, games, books, etc. The house is very authentic and true shabby chic lovers will rejoice. A special remark regarding dinner & breakfast: We were served a healthy yet incredibly fantastic dinner made of first choice ingredients and prepared with lots of devotion. Breakfast was also excellent and only premium quality is served. I can only recommend to stay there and have dinner :)

Cosy place with room for up to 10 persons, but also great for a couple. Close to the main roads, but feels like thousands miles away from civilization. It is only ten minutes from Hellesylt where you have restaurants and grocery. From Hellesylt can you take the ferry to the famous fjord: Geirangerfjord a world heritage site.A great place to stay if you like to haik (or skiing) in the mountains.
“We’ve put a lot of thought into making the house a really lovely place to stay. But don’t take our word for it - have a look at our reviews: Our guests have been incredibly positive about staying here and very generous with their feedback. We’re more than happy to help with any questions you might have about the house or the local area - just message us and we’ll get back to you with all the info you might need. ”
  • Randi’s place is amazing in many ways. The home is spacious, modern kitchen, two bathrooms, ample bedrooms. It’s location is very near HELLESYLT, a charming town with its own gorgeous waterfall -not to mention it is the ferry harbor for the Geirangerfjord. Then there is the absolutely stunning views of enormous mountains from every window some of which are pretty much in the back yard. Had delightful evenings on the back deck marveling at the proximity of our very own El Capitan. We toured Geirangerfjord, the old scenic road, and the next day turned left and had a wonderful road trip to Ostra.

  • Lovely house, beautiful setting and lots of space

    Stuart2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The magnificence of this property defies description. The surroundings look like a photograph on a calendar! You are enveloped by majestic mountains, waterfalls and babbling brooks. The sense of peace and serenity is palpable. Randi's home is as extraordinary as its surroundings. It is extremely spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. We had all the conveniences of being in our own home while enjoying the luxury of being on vacation. In our years of travel across the globe, we have never before enjoyed our stay as we did here. In America we would say, so much bang for your buck!

  • Randi's beautiful house offers lots of space and all modern conveniences. It was an ideal base for our excursions in the Geiranger fjord area. We slept very well and thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent there. Thank you, Randi!

    Alexandra2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great and as expected, Randi is a great host !

    Francois2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Randi's house is very nice. The view is gorgeous and the house is even better. We found everything we needed, included books, a basket full of toys for our babies and baby chair, baby beds and so on. It was really warm and nice. We spent 2 nights there and we wished we would have spent at least one more.

    Clarissa2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The place is amazing and is actually even more homely and beautiful than the pictures show. The hostess, Randi, was very helpful and friendly and was there to greet us when we arrived. The house is very clean and well kept. NB: Important to note that there's only one restaurant in the vicinity (about 15 mins drive away in Hellesylt centre).

  • We came to stay for my fiancé’s 30th birthday. The cabin is such a magical place, with a view out of this world - (pretty much 360°!) The 40min trek up is definitely worth it, the surroundings are perfectly isolated and peaceful. You feel on top of the world. The cabin itself is finished to a high standard. Helge and his family have thought of everything, from stocking you up with firewood and water, to slippers to keep your feet warm. We couldn’t recommend it more.

    Florence2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • If there was a 'host of the year' award, this one should go to Helge. We have had three absolutely magical days at this lovely cabin. The view was enough to take our breath away several times a day, we have gone many nice mountain walks in the area, and just enjoyed the quiet life and peace of mind our stay gave us. Helge has been helpful throughout; well informed about both the use of the cottage, nice walks in the area, have been available for all queries, and really made us feel welcome. This tour is one of the finest we have experienced and will be happy to return. Thank you so much for a truly magical experience!

    Isabelle2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • A Dream Visit. Truly an unbelievable, special experience staying at Helge and his family's cabin. The views truly are amazing. Helge was the most helpful and engaging host I've ever had. Period. A very unique experience that I will never forget. I considered this cabin to be luxurious "glamping". Exceptionally comfy beds, great kitchen amenities, a cozy & comfortable living room with fire place, and views to die for. 45 minute hike up with gear and groceries, although the cable car trolly is nearly complete for shuttling gear. Complete isolation from neighbors or the any civilization. No running water was fine for our group of 4 thanks to a fresh mountain stream, fully function oven and stove, electric burning toilet and small indoor washing station. Ample sleeping space for 6 although it would be cramped in the kitchen. An amazing place I will surely return. If you enjoy camping but want a comfortable sleep and have many luxuries of home, this is your spot. You must be willing to do the 45 minute hike in, okay with fetching your own water, and don't require a hot shower. But the experience, views, and uniqueness of the place was worth every penny. Truly special

    Charles2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is beautiful and is placed in an amazing place! We were speechless with the view and the way up is totally worthy. Helge was very welcoming and took care of our stay. If you are looking for the Norwegian experience, this is the spot! We would love to come back one day.

Solheim is a family friendly villa in a rural area with beautiful norwegian nature. It can house anything from two to fourteen guests! This house is perfect for a romantic couple getaway or a large family in need of a big space. This house and its surroundings have a lot to offer. Solheim has a unique design and has many small rooms you'll love to explore. There are many great hiking trips in the area. From Hellesylt you can take the ferry through the amazing Geirangerfjord to Geiranger.
You will find everything you need in the house to make your stay comfortable. Bedding, towels, toiletries, dishwasher, freezer/fridge, TV with DVD player, plenty of DVDs, and a lot of kitchen appliances.
  • What a wonderful place!!!

  • Tones House is really beautiful, clean and easy to find. The check-in was also very easy and we would totally recommend to stay here! :-)

    Lea2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Tonje's home was so cute! We loved the architecture and areas to sit. Tonje's was incredibly quick to respond to any questions and even left us a treat when we checked in! One thing I wish I had known before booking was, if you're looking to go to Geiranger, it's either a 2.5 hour drive or a 1800 NOK (Round trip) ferry so be mindful of that if you're choosing this spot to get to Geiranger from. Would definitely stay here again!

    Amanda Shoshana2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tonje's house is like no other we ever rented. When you drive up to it, it really has a high wow factor. It is a wonderful classic norwegion house, situated in a quiet valley overlooking meadows and waterfalls. Inside the house is just as beautiful as to styling and fitting. Both the house and Tonje were very welcoming. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms the house easily acommodates four adults. There is a comparatively very easy walk (for norwegian standards) further down the valley that you should try. Tonje provided detailed instructions where to start and park. Also we highly recommend a drive to Lekness with some lovely views. Stop at the Union hotel for coffee and cake. It is a beatiful old hotel where many famous guests spent their holiday. And perhaps take the ferry to Saebo for a cheap boat trip over the fjord

  • Charming picturesque house in the Norwegian spirit, very cozy. It feels like home. With a superb view. We highly recommend this great house.

  • Tonje’s «Solheim» is a fantastic villa amongst majestic mountains in a valley, in Sunnmøre close to Hellesylt and Geiranger. It’s a home cosy, perfect house to rent for larger families. Or if you simply want to relax in beautiful nature. Simply a home away from home. Tonje is an excellent host who will make sure that your stay in Sunnmøre will be one to remember.

  • On our trip to Norway we needed a dry dwelling through the rainy day. Spontaneously we were able to log in Christian and arrived via combination lock with previously received combination into the interior of the huge house. There was a lot to discover here. We 4 could choose our sleeping place multioptional, because there were 14 beds;) This house is equipped with everything you need. In the kitchen there are cutlery, plates, pots, spices, etc. In the bathroom towels and shower bath and Co. Wi-Fi is also available and against boredom provide numerous games or the flicker box with a variety of DVDs. We will be back. Best regards, the Erfurt

Ellers mange fine vandreturer over Ljøbrekka, Moldskredalen, Åseneset, Flofjellet, Hornindalsetra.
  • We spend 4 days in this location. The cabin was super clean, and communication easy with Harald. It was really a pleasure for all the family.

  • This cabin is wonderful! Probably one of the nicest properties we have stayed in through AirBnB. Very stylish, well appointed with useful kitchen appointment and comfortable. Communication was very easy and directions to find the cabin also clear. My husband and I would definitely want to stay in this cabin again!

  • Exceptionally beautiful place. Both the cabin, decor and location are unique. We can clearly recommend a stay.

    Helle Rekdal2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice new house tastefully decorated, we feel impregnated with the Norwegian lifestyle, the "hygge"! Plaids, stove, comfortable chairs ... we are particularly at home in this house which is also very well arranged with a large living space separated from the sleeping area. House very well equipped, and extremely quiet because a little isolated (we are awake in the morning by the bells of sheep!). In short, an excellent stay, too short for our taste!

  • Great modern and stylish cabin in the Mountains :) We stayed for 5 days during our trip through norway, and had one of our best moments there. Perfect Host, great Cabin, great trails in the surrounding area, ++++ Go there n have a great time!! Tusen takk

  • We had the most amazing time at Harald’s place. We arrived in the dark but of you pay attention the drive isn’t to hard. We had great communication over the phone. And the house is very clean and has a cozy feeling (in my opinion) it isn’t to far from the Geiranger Fjord if you take the ferry. I made some awesome drone shots of The Valley. If get the chance I would absolutely visit this house again

An original, traditional house of the Stranda valley, is dated back to 1850. Located only few minutes away from stunning views over the Geiranger Fjord. A stay here will offer you an authentic and unique peak into when time moved slower. Wonderful calm ambiance! Shared kitchen facilities. "Help yourself" breakfast provided. Rich breakfast may be ordered in advance. Bathroom facilities are new of the year (2018). Can be booked individually or for groups.
  • We stayed in one of the three rooms of this newly renovated woodhouse from the 1850s for a full week. The place has an outstanding historical charme, great facilities (very well-equipped kitchen!), and is cleaned daily. Lots of common areas to socialize with other guests. Owing to historic building preservation regulations, there is only one tiny bathroom, so the bathroom situation can be a bit tricky when the place is fully booked. Furthermore, the location is great, situated in a green valley, surrounded by mountains, and only a short drive away from hiking routes and fjord views. The best part of our stay, however, was Hege Kristin's exceptional hospitality. We can highly recommend staying here!

Tiny cabin in the Norwegian nature. The cabin is a traditional summerfarm cabin, that was used by maids working on the farm, milking the cow and watching the sheeps when they were on the summer pastures. No electrisity and water! Fresh mountain water can be found in a small river 50 meters from the cabin. The kitchen runs on gas, and for heating you are using firewood. 45 minute hike to the cabin from the car parking. You can book guiding up to the cabin for 500 NOK.
Simple and traditional living. Perfect way to get close to the nature and feel the way people had to live on the norwegian farms.
A short hike from the cabin there is a beautiful view into the Geirangerfjord wich is listed on the UNESCO heritage list. There is also a longer hike to a mountain called "Steimsnibba" (1285 m.a.s.l) with a small stone cabin on the top. On days with good weather it is a beautiful hike.

Here's fresh air and beautiful scenery. From the house you can see right into the mountains Slogen, Jakta and Saksa. Three mountains that are worth a visit. We can guarantee unbeatable views. If you'd rather dive we can recommend Lyngstøylsvatnet known among divers. A boat ride on Hjørungfjorden is also great. After the day's activities can barbecue on the terrace be nice. If you do not want to cook, you can walk to the historic Hotel Union Øye to enjoy a wonderful meal there.
The place is suitable for couples, solo travelers, business travelers, families (with children) and groups. We live in the countryside in the middle of nature.
We live on a farm in the country with livestock. It is a quiet place, the nearest grocery store is the convenience store on Urke 7 km away. The nearest airport is Hovden, Orsta / Volda. By car it takes 50 min from Hovden to Eye, including ferry.
  • We had a wonderful stay in Monica's place. The house is very spacious and well equipped and has everything that's needed. Monica is a very warm and wonderful host who provided a lot of tips for our stay. The location is fantastic with a lot of hiking trails and things to see/do, Norangdal is a beautiful valley and a destination in itself. Oye is conveniently located that we could easily do day hikes in different areas like Loen, Stranda & Nordfjord, the long summer days help :-) We also had no issues with WiFI (that some others seem to mention).

    S2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The house is situated in one of the most lovely locations in the Sunnmore Alps; the village of Oye at the end of Norangsfjord. Surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, it is easy to do some amazing hikes (including the famous Slogen), cycle down the valley, or row a boat on the fjord. It is a traditional farmhouse, but with stylish and modern amenities. It has lots of room (you could easily sleep 8 or 9), which makes it ideal for a large party. Monica is nearby and can offer useful local information and tips.

  • The house and location are AWESOME. To enjoy the fjords and their routes by mountains, essential. In the middle of a hill, and with views of the mountain and several waterfalls ... I have no words. The house had everything, large living room and large and comfortable rooms. If I come back I repeat for sure.

  • The cabin is simply amazing. One of the best places I've been in my life (and I've been around). Very quiet, calm, and relaxing. My 3 friend and I enjoyed our stay as the cabin was super clean, the communications with the hosts were efficient, and the amenities were perfect. We also utilized the extra (charged) services like the boat and the jacuzzi. The view of the lake is just something else. Highly recommended for those who want a place like home away from home. Join an intimate and caring atmosphere in our rustic farmhouse villa from 1901. We take great notice in the history of the house and letting you in on our journey of refurbishment, from being a farmland to a golf course and Bed&Breakfast service, and invite you to get an insight into our plans for the near future.
However, if you would like ocean view then you have to look further. Play some golf, go for an immediate hike, go kayaking/canoeing, fishing in our rivers, or join in one of our local events. Ask us what is one - and when. The golf course have easy access from the main road and only 50 meters from your bedroom. We appreciate a good talk and feel happy to be influenced by our colorful guests. You will always have the offer to join in for a cup of tea or coffee in a relaxed atmosphere. We are taking great consideration into keeping the authenticy of the farm house while doing the required and needed refurbishment. We now have two new bathrooms on 2nd floor and a new well with clean running water for your convenience. In the following years we will have great focus on updating the rooms. In 2017 we will also have added new facilities in the barn where different activities will be held during the year. You may be interested in enjoying our signature dinner here: our popular RAW and LOCAL food? There are several buss correspondances from Ålesund and Oslo, but plan well ahead. Travelling on the west coast takes a lot longer time than most travellers do expect. NB: The advice from our travellers is to at least stay 3-4 days with us in order to get the most out of your stay! Public transport existing but rare. Suitable for travelers with a car. ******************************************************* POEM. ******************************************************
  • This place will give you so much hospitality and cosyness that you will want to stay. Beautiful on the outside and on the inside.

  • A lovely, relaxing place in an original, old farm house. Extremely charming. Hege-Kristin is a very warmhearted host and an excellent chef! We loved her breakfast and the home cooked three course dinner. She gave us a couple of fantastic advices on activities and routes. We really recommend on driving to Øye, go for a stroll there and visit the hotel!!

  • Very cute and cozy, easy to locate. Lots of host and guest to guest interactions, very friendly. I was so happy to hear laughter from guests, children playing the piano, etc. and not one of those "quiet only bed and breakfast places!" The bathrooms were perfect, the showers had plenty of room, nice towels, and heated floors! I hope to come back one day to fully enjoy what this place has to offer.

  • Hege Kristin’s home was absolutely adorable and very picturesque. The food she made for us, very organic and unique, was delicious and an interesting venture. Would definitely recommend trying the dinner for at least one night. Breakfast was lovely too!

  • This is a wonderful location to explore Geiranger, Hellesylt and Oye. There are some great local hikes and spectacular scenery all round. Kristin is a superb host and her dinners are full of wonderful fresh local ingredients. I particularly enjoyed all the raw, vegan and vegetarian choices. Highly recommended.

House for rent on traditional farm on beautiful Hellesylt. Hellesylt lies at the Geiranger fjord, and has great opportunities for activities on both the fjord, the amazing mountains around surrounding the farm, fishing, and other outdoor activities!
The nature. The majestic mountains and the deep fjords. The calm and peace at the house on the farm
This is in the middle of the Norwegian countryside. Culture and farms are key words for where our house is.
  • A beautiful house in the middle of the mountains and with a pretty waterfall behind the house! Very quiet place to stay!

  • Great house in super place, away from everything and wonderful peace. Nice base for Geirangerfjord, Ålesund and Loen. Could well make their own meals in fine cuisine. Cozy decor too! Thanks, Hello!

    Marieke2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The house was spacious, bright and comfortable. Dag Olav and his mother gave us tips for hikes in the area, which was amazingly beautiful.

  • A big house and very comfortable for large groups. Being four adults and four young was easy to rest each in its air because it has three living areas or meeting. Well equipped and located in quiet area with a unique natural environment: mountains, forests and water. Dag and Ingunn have been very helpful during the stay and trip preparation. The excursions proposed Ingunn we were very good. Ideal for groups.

  • A spacious and cozy house with everything you need. A fantastic peaceful environment in which we made great trips. Olaf day, brother and mother were very friendly and helpful. Thanks!

  • Well, I can simply say that the place is perfect for us to take a rest and plus hiking. We had a great time at this house. 1) Beautiful landscape 2) Clean and beautiful interior house decoration 3) Not far from Hellesylt 4) Quiet place and I had a really peace feeling whenever I see outside through the windows. We were lucky and there was some of the sunny days made our days. Love it.

  • Dag Olav was very friendly. He gave us a tour of his massive family holiday home and made us feel extremely welcome. He provided details on where to walk and what to see which were great recommendations. He even lent us a couple of fishing rods so that we could go fishing. The house was very authentic and gave us a good insight into Norwegian farmland living. It was beautiful inside and the space was out of this world. We had a choice of three living rooms to relax in. The area is beautiful, with an abundance of things to see and do. There are mountains, rivers, waterfalls, lakes, fjords all within a couple of minutes walk/and drive. I would definitely return and can recommend.
