Places to stay in Glen Of The Downs
Imagine a charming guesthouse only 40 minutes by car from Dublin, yet utterly pastoral and romantic, in the heart of the beautiful Garden County and within a few minutes of great walking in famous Glendalough! Unwind in this cosy home and let your hostess spoil you with delicious breakfasts of homemade scones and full Irish included in price...or if you prefer you can self cater!
My space is cosy and imaginatively decorated with feminine colour schemes and homely touches. There is a lovely family-friendly room with comfy king double bed (orthopaedic mattress) and comfy bed sofa which can be used for a child or for an adult. However, the room works equally well as a romantic space. There is another really lovely king double (master bedroom) with added queen single with sizeable marble en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. There are two other pretty rooms one with queen-size 4ft single bed and one with European double 4ft 6". All rooms are ensuite. I think my listing is unique because of the wealth of horse riding, garden touring and walking opportunities in the locality. Apart from the Wicklow National Park and wonderful Glendalough a few minutes away by car, there's also the stunning Brittas Bay beach only half an hour away by car. Ashford itself is a charming and friendly village which boasts the famous Mount Usher Gardens, inspired by the great English Romantic gardens of 100 years ago. Special features of my space are the fact that I can do lovely afternoon teas (in the drawing room or lavender terrace €18 pp) as I am an artisan baker. I can also give baking classes for those who are especially keen to learn to bake. €30 per baking class which teaches scones and soda bread. Dinner is €25 for nibbles hearty country house style main course and small dessert or €15 for just main course. All welcome to BYOB. The maximum my space fits would be 9 people (3 in the family double room 1 adult per single room with queensize 4ft bed 3 in the master bedroom with added single bed and 2 in the smaller double). I also have two handy travel cots for babies.
There is such a wealth of beauty and amazing scenery for the nature lover, it's hard to know where to begin! The absolutely stunning views from the famous Glendalough walks...the lovely little Wicklow villages...the vale of Avoca, the views from the top of Wicklow town which are like Antibes with magnificent coastal views and basking seals. Wonderful Brittas Bay beach is the perfect place for a romantic walk with your loved one or a playful day with children. And there are great horse riding opportunities in Glendalough, in Bel Air Hotel in Ashford and in Boswell Equestrian Centre, (just around the corner from me). Wicklow is also a very popular place for cyclists and there are many beautiful and scenic routes. It is possible to hire bikes locally. Also, there is fine dining in The Wicklow Heather, Laragh, The Lighthouse restaurant Wicklow and the famous Bates of Rathdrum. And for the traditional diner, there is always fabulous Hunters Hotel near Ashford for the perfect Sunday lunch or romantic dinner for two. In addition, there is the charming and friendly Chester Beatty pub in Ashford with a lovely menu, and there is Avoca Garden Cafe in Mount Usher Courtyard in Ashford.
  • I do not know where to start to tell about this lovely place. This is a wonderful house with romantic touches and all necessary amenities. En-suite Bathroom in master bedroom had almost everything I may need, this was so thoughtful and more than I could imagine. The living room with an openfire is a lovely spot that makes you feel at home. We stayed at master bedroom and this room had a corner sofa which we just kept watching the rain and enjoy our cup of teas when we arrived. It was so cosy. Handmade scones at Breakfast was again thoughtfulness of great host Eleanor. She is a energetic person and also very kind at same time. She picked us up from village and gave us enjoyable tour around the village. I cannot recommend enough this place to everyone who looks for a runaway from the city. Keep in mind Eleanor has a great taste of romantic touches you may enjoy.

  • Wonderful stay with Eleanor, Mini and Rolo in their beautiful house. Eleanor is a fabulous host and the rooms beautifully presented and extremely comfortable. We wish we’d stayed longer to explore the breathtaking surrounding countryside. I could note recommend staying here highly enough, a great experience and we were certainly extremely well fed. Thank you! Xxx

Please note: This apartment has a private entrance, but it also connects to the main house and although you have your own microwave and kettle, the kitchen facilities are shared with the hosts. One night bookings are most welcome if placed within three weeks of arrival. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, What makes our place unique is the fantastic location. We are in a completely rural setting with fantastic scenery yet only a 50 mn. journey to Dublin, so you can easily experience both the city and and the rural world. We are within walking distance of a small village which has a good restaurant and a traditional pub. There are great walks and lots of places to visit locally. From the village you can get to the Wicklow Hills and Bray (a lovely seaside town with traditional pubs & restaurants). A small theatre and a leisure centre plus a beautiful promenade. Dublin is accessible by bus alsothe LUAS & DART. There are direct bus links to Bray, Dublin, Wicklow Town and Glendalough as well as Dublin Airport and Rosslare Seaport. We are 12 minutes walk from this stop. Alternatively, you can reach the Dublin centre in a 35 minutes drive and the Dublin Airport in also a 35 minutes drive. Your room is lovely with an ensuite shower room and an informal seating area adjoined. You have your own entrance and a microwave and kettle - for any other cooking you can use our kitchen. We are just a door away and will always be happy to help. The accommodation is suitable for two people or a small family. It is an ideal location to get away from it all. When your batteries are recharged there are, amongst other things, beautiful walks, golf, gardens to visit, and a visit to Dublin to enjoy. *** Why not avail of our special offer 2 nights B&B and a home cooked dinner for €140!** Looking forward to your visit. Maura
  • We absolutely loved our stay at this house :) The location is quiet and peaceful, Maura's place is ideal for people who want to get more in touch with the surrounding nature and for people who are seeking for a break from the busy routine of a city. The house is well facilitated and comfortable, has a well equipped kitchen, a comfy bedroom with a double bed and a nice bathroom with a shower. The house provides a rich bookshelf, good variety of boardgames and movies and thus a great source of relax :) Maura and Sean provided an excellent level of hospitality, they were very welcoming and helpful, they also gave us invaluable tips how to get around. They are very very good and experienced hosts and they have two lovely dogs as well, who are eager to get to know you :) Me and my fiance James are delighted that we chose this place. Tips: The house has a self checkin with a lockbox outside. In case you are commuting with bus, Dublin Bus 45a and Wexford Bus 740 takes you to Kilmacanogue (as of 28.10.'19) and it is about 10-15min walk to get to the house. Have a flashlight with you as the streets are dark at night.

  • Place exactly like the pictures describe it. The hosts are really nice.

    Luís2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy apartment, privet bath and bedroom. Very doog breakfast. Most importantly, the hosts are super nice, very welcoming. We set to eat breakfast together and talk about 1 hour and a half. Will very much recommend to stay there.

    Avital2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Maura & Sean (with their 2 beautiful doggos) were extremely welcoming and friendly. They were great with local advice and the place was exactly what I was looking for

    Cheryl2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Maura and Sean are very kind and helpful hosts and if someone is looking for a nice and quiet place it is a good choice. It isn’t very close to Dublin but it is accessible by bus and even easier if you rent a car, so it is absolutely worth it for that price. We even took advantage to have a traditional Irish dinner with them and it was brilliant. Once again big Thank you to Maura and Sean for being so kind and helped us to explore Dublin.

    Preslav2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for some peace and quiet on a farm in the countryside, yet just a short drive to Bray, then this is it. It’s a perfect place for a solo or a couple, with a big comfy double bed, modern walk-in shower, and a generous breakfast, courtesy of host Maura. It was so quiet there and I slept like a log every night - something I don’t often get to do in town apartments, but think is an essential requirement. Maura was a friendly and generous host who made sure I had everything I needed for my stay, and also recommended local places to eat, drink or visit. I could easily and happily stayed for a few more days as I only scratched the surface of things to do in the area. Thank you for hosting.

    Mark2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We spent one night at Maura and were overall very satisfied. By a late flight we arrived at 1 o'clock at night, which was however no problem with the check-in with key box. The rooms were accessed via a separate entrance, were very nice and clean. Private bathroom, as well as a lounge including a small breakfast we really liked.

    Fabian2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time here! Maura and Sean were great hosts and provided us with tips what to do and were very friendly. We felt very welcome! Breakfast and dinner were very good too! If we‘re ever in Ireland again we would really like to stay with them again! Thanks for everything!

  • Anne-Marie was a wonderful host. I’ve stayed in many air Bnbs before and this was by far one of my favourites. A perfect spot for a night or twos rest in a homey environment

    Marissa2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nice small place for a quick stay. Clean and comfortable.

    Pamela2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Anne-Marie was absolutely wonderful! She was very kind, hospitable, and really was helpful in showing us how to get around Ireland with public transport. I couldn’t have asked for a better host than her! Her place was very lovely, and made us feel at home when we could come back for the day from exploring the country. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone that is visiting Ireland. Another plus side to this spot is that it is in a very beautiful location, and close to public transportation. Thank you again Anne Marie for being so lovely!

Petals is situated in a rural setting, yet only a five minute drive to to Greystones village and DART station. Also not far away are the towns of Bray, Dun Laoghaire and Dublin City to the north. And we are a short drive away from Glendalough, Enniskerry and the heart of the garden of Ireland - Co Wicklow. Great for country walks and seaside strolls. You’ll love my place because of the cosiness, the neighbourhood and the comfy bed. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
Petals is for the use of guests solely and is situated in our back garden. Guests will be able to access the room via the side passage making it convenient for coming and going. The Room has it's own toilet facilities and shower, as well as a Kitchenette with Kettle, Microwave and Fridge.
  • An address to remember, a warm Irish welcome and a nice little nest. Well connected by bus as much for Greystones, Bray or Dublin. Grace is a charming hostess. I highly recommend.

    Muriel2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The place is small, but it has everything you need for your stay. It is well connected to south Dublin through N11 motorway. Grace is a great host, very responsive to all guests' needs.

    Ivan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Grace's house is really beautiful, it is far from the center to be relaxed, but still a direct bus arrives home from the airport! I really liked the place and Grace and her husband are very friendly people! I would like to go back ☺️

    Constanza2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Grace was a fantastic host. Very welcoming and always helpful. The place was sparkling.

    Mary2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Grace is one of the best hosts i‘ve ever met. Checking-in was super easy and Petals is just lovely, really nice interior and she even got a selection of teas or cereals you can choose from. The location is also great - there‘s a bus stop 1 minute away and it takes around 1 hour to get to Dublin. Grace is extremly nice and caring, she even baked us some muffins. We just had an overall perfect experience and felt very welcome.

    Jaqueline2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect accommodation located close to the Wicklow mountains, and the Irish sea is not far either. Communication was great, the room clean tidy with a very comfy bed, an own bathroom and a little kitchenette area with kettle, microwave and fridge. Highly recommend.

    Sonja2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our two nights here! Grace and Frank are lovely and so accommodating. The space is perfect for 1-2 people. Comfortable with great amenities. Great if you rent a car though I am sure there are ways to enjoy without. We easily drove to glendalough and then into dublin city center for a night out. Would love to come back!

    Nora2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Grace and Frank are invaluable hosts. If you want a great location, adorable place to stay, and thoughtful amenities, look no further. We came out to Ireland for our anniversary for two weeks. They also made the arrival and stay warm and comfortable. Grace often baked us scones and tea loafs, and always made sure the space, towels, and sheets were clean. We felt like it was our home away from home. You also cannot beat this price for this location. Two minute walk from the local bus transit. We cannot thank them enough for going above and beyond. Ireland is a magical place with kind and thoughtful people. Highly recommend!

Modern , bright and one open plan kitchen/sittingroom.
Built beside the sea, this is a bird sanctuary and a nature reserve. Neptune was a small holiday home. Rebuilt eight years ago. It's small, modern and bright.
On the beach and the nature trail 'The Wicklow Way' is at the doorstep.
  • Miriam's house is in a nice location right next to the beach. Miriam was away while we were there so we had the house to ourselves, including the use of all the amenities, which made our stay even more good value. Miriam was very friendly and happy for us to use or borrow things, including trusting us to use the fireplace, and letting us borrow her dry robe after a swim in the sea! Some things to note - the listing says there is WiFi but this is currently not the case, though apparently it will be sorted in the future, and the listing says there is an iron, which is correct, but there is no ironing board. And finally, there are now two kittens living in the house - this was great for us as we love cats, but they have free roam of the house and are very active so you definitely need to be a cat person to stay here at the moment!

    Beth2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • In the end we were not able to spend the night at Miriam due to issues with transport and Miriam was super understanding and gave us a refund. We were very upset because the area looks beautiful! Would recommend

  • The location of the house is perfect to visit Dublin and Wicklow mountains at the same time, as it takes very little time to get to both places. Bray itself is a really nice place for a weekend, and this house is situated in a quiet area just a couple of minutes far from the beach and restaurants. The house is full of beautiful paintings and the decoration is really nice. Everything was tidy and clean. But best of all was that they made us feel at home. We will repeat

Our off-grid Tiny House is nestled in amongst a grove of pine trees in the beautiful Wicklow Mountains. With an airy loft bed space, large kitchen and complete tiny bathroom, our cute little cottage in the country is the perfect place to relax. 45 min drive into the heart of Dublin City or short train ride. Close to lots of walking trails. Popular cycling route. 5 min drive from town.
Tiny House living means a more simple way of living, however walking into the space it feels much bigger than expected. The cosy bedroom loft has a roof window so you can watch the stars at night or the birds and clouds float passed during the day. Simply slide the ladder across the rail to climb up into the loft sleeping space! A small fridge, oven, stove and everything else you need to make a big feast, in a small house! Our Tiny House is very well insulated and has gas fire to keep you cosy in the Winter. The house is fully off grid and runs on solar electricity and rain fall tank water (we recommend to bring your own drinking water), compost toilet, gas heating and cooking. NOTE: Because this is an off-grid house there is a chance one of the systems may not work (e.g. if there has not been sun for a long time the solar battery will have no power). The house is equipped with a trouble-shooting guide to assist if this is the case. It is all part of the fun of the off-grid experience!
The Wicklow Mountains are beautiful with lots of walking trails and natural sites. The Lane our tiny house is on is a beautiful walk on its own, and we have a lovely view of Sugarloaf Mountain. It is a very peaceful area with lots of birds and trees. 5 min drive to Newtown MountKennedy, a small town with a Dunnes Store supermarket and restaurants. 10 min walk to Djouce Golf Club 17 min drive to Guinness Lake 24 min drive to Glendalough 15 min drive to the ocean (Greystones) 40 min drive into Dublin City or a short train ride from Greystones Station
  • The place is unbelievable. It's cozy unconnected and all you need to enjoy a great time on the calm Wicklow. Evething around and perfect.. the communication was good with the owners and the staff.

    Andres2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house is very cozy and comfortable. U got everything u need here and there are so many attractions to see. We definitely want to come back and stay longer.

  • This tiny house is perfect for discovering Ireland. In addition to charming accommodation, walking and cycling are close by, as are Dublin's pubs. I recommend !

    Michel2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the lovely tiny house und the beautiful natural surrounding!

    Adina2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny home is beautiful, scenic, and charming, with more than enough amenities to make an off-grid experience surpass most other plugged-in homes. The home is remote yet ideally located within the Wicklow mountains, an easy distance from neighboring towns and hikes. The care which the owners put into its design, construction, and maintenance is apparent in every detail. We would highly recommend this space to anyone interested in staying in Wicklow!

    Henry2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Emma’s place is a little piece of calm: a great opportunity to relax, unwind and enjoy the peacefulness of the countryside. It is beautiful up in the mountains where the tiny house is! The tiny house is really cosy and welcoming. It has thoughtful little touches and decor that make you feel at home. It is well equipped and there is lots of information on local things to do (which is great when you’re there to do a bit of hiking/sightseeing). We would definitely come back!

  • Emma was always available, if you had questions and knew everything a quick answer! The cottage itself was really cute and we felt like in our own little cottage Sweden! For people who want to experience a first Tiny House experience (like us), "The Rocks" is really recommended!

Characterful converted coach house set in courtyard near Delgany Co. Wicklow. Sleeps 5 in 2 double rooms. House has all mod cons but is a restoration work in progress! Acres of overgrown grassland for dogs to run around!
Beautiful bright and spacious house only 2km from Delgany and 5km from Greystones, and convenient to the N11 and M50. Accommodation offered is in two double bedrooms one of which also has an additional single bed. We can also make our daughters bedroom with bunk beds available on request. We can provide a cot if required. There is a bathroom with shower and bath and 24 hour hot water. We also have a downstairs loo. We have a very large open plan kitchen dining sitting area which is a very sociable space. Immediately outside the house is a courtyard which is a great sun trap and we have outdoor furniture if you want to enjoy the sun. The house is set in some 7 acres but the grounds are a bit overgrown; not really a garden as such. Please do bear in mind this is a 300 year old stone built house which has an abundance of charm but it is not a boutique city apartment! We are restoring the house as a work in progress and whilst comfortable, don't expect the same levels of finish as in a brand new building!
Delgany is in the 'The Garden of Ireland' Co. Wicklow. In the village there is a very good pub, restaurant, bakery which is was voted one of the best foodie places in Ireland, and an upmarket deli market. Greystones, which is by the sea, has trains to Dublin and beyond, a range of supermarkets, pubs and all the amenities you would expect in a town. Other popular areas and attractions nearby are Glendalough, Powerscourt, Avoca Handweavers, Killruddery House and more. Several popular golf courses and outstanding restaurants are within a 10 km radius.
  • Loved the well equipped kitchen and location. And very much enjoyed the rustic setting. Clement was very responsive and helpful. As he said to us, it is a work in progress. Not all rooms renovated and yard has several old vehicles in it. But the work that has been done - especially kitchen and bath- are nice. Would love to come back someday and see the finished project.

  • We loved our stay in this truly unique & cosy home. We especially loved the open plan living area filled with beautiful art & lots of natural light. Clement was a fantastic host providing us with a cot for our newborn son & leaving us with kitchen essentials. The house is perfectly located for exploring Wicklow & was lovely that our dogs could stay also. We would definitely come back - Thanks again.

  • The house is amazing. It is in a countryside style but with all the comfort. The surroundings are in the middle of the nature so we had a great and peaceful time there. We loved it!

  • Really lovely house in a quiet secluded location. We'd a lovely stay, thanks.

    Richard2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely open plan living space downstairs which feels really homely and a great space to relax in. Clement left his children's toys out for our daughter to play with which was great as we didn't have to lug loads of stuff with us to entertain her. It was cold when we were there but the massive log burner kept the whole place nice and toasty. Its located really well for exploring the Wicklow mountains and not far from Dublin. Bread and milk were provided which was a nice touch too .We felt very at home and had a great stay.

The city and the surrounding area invited to go hiking, which we also perceived very efficiently. Thanks again for the great time; We wish you all the best, Chris and Sammy

Pleasant single rooms in a quiet secluded estate in cul de dac in Bray co wicklow. You will stay in a family home near Bray centre with many bars and restaurants all walking distance. You might like to visit our local theatre and see a good play or listen to great live music in the many pubs in the town .the craic can be mighty.enjoy
Rooms are in a great seaside town in Bray and near the wicklow mountains You might like to climb the sugarloaf mountain or walk the cliff walk from Bray to greystones don't forget your walking boots
Bray is a lovely seaside town about an hour away by bus from Dublin or 30 minutes on the dart and one hour from wexford by train
  • Pat and Ann are the warmest, most wonderful hosts. They became friends the week I was there. I learned a lot about Ireland from them. Bray was my favorite place in Ireland. Beautiful hikes, good food, easy bus transport, great charity shops. Mostly, I enjoyed spending time with Ann and Pat.

    Wendy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick and Anne are great hosts and did everything they could to make us feel at home for our long stay. The location is great, its proximity to public transit made going into Bray and Dublin easy and painless. I’m very glad to have stayed here!

    Madison2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at Patrick's place was great! It was in a very quiet neighborhood, it was very nice to take a walk in the morning to go to the seafront. When he can, Patrick offered himself to take me to the seafront by car. All his family was very kind. Really nothing bad to say, I also had breakfast in the morning. I couldn't ask for nothing more. :)

    Alessio2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Bray is an attractive seaside town with excellent train and bus connections to Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, Blackrock and Stillorgan. There are a great many small Shops, charity Shops and Cafes, and some decent Pubs, plus an excellent promenade along the Seafront. Patrick and Anne live a little way out of town, probably 15 minutes by foot, but the 145 bus goes through Bray and then on to Dublin, and normally arrives every 10 minutes, and the Bus Stop is about 200 hundred yards from Pat's front door, and there is also a local shop where necessities can be bought Patrick was always willing to offer the daily paper or a cup of tea, and tried to make me feel welcome, for a stay which lasted over 2 months and where we had really no problems. Anne organised everything else, I had access to a washing machine and the lounge, with a personal fridge and some space to keep anything which I bought to eat or drink. The bedroom was relatively small, but comfortable and equipped with a small computer table from which I could do some work when necessary All in all very good hosts and a very pleasant location

  • Andrew’s place was perfect for a couple containing a stylish space, a quiet location and a great view. Andrew responded quickly when needed and gave us good tips on how to spend the day in nearby Greystones and Bray. Coming from the south on the Freeway, it was quite tricky finding the right exit as it is not signposted but google maps does help. We really enjoyed our short stay and would stay again if we return to Ireland one day. Thank you Andrew and Sharon for being such welcoming hosts.

  • Charming place to stay for a few days, 20 min walk from the center of the town and the sea, a lot to do around available with trains or buses. The hotes are great, a lot of little attention when we arrived, like sweats, fruit, basic food as eggs milk bread, or the maps and instruction of the house printed in our language. The bed is great and the all place is realy quiet.

  • This is a great place to stay in Greystones. It's a perfectly sized apartment, really clean, good 'living' areas, plenty of food stocked, a short walk to shops, handy parking, and some lovely kind touches with food and books for our baby left for us. I highly recommend this place.

  • We stayed at Irene's place for a little over two weeks as I was visiting all of my family in Greystones for Christmas. With a one year old baby and so many suitcases, staying with family just was not an option. We were so glad to find this lovely space in Greystones as hotels are few and far between. It exceeded our expectations. Irene has this place spotlessly clean, lovely and warm, decorated gorgeously and even had a fridge full of food for us along with a basket of Irish treats. She even put up a Christmas tree for us which was such a special touch. We hope to stay there again on our next visit as it was really a home away from home. Just wanted to add- I saw a review below about the shower being hard to get right. I think non-Irish people are not used to electric showers but it just takes a few minutes to get right and then it is perfect. Cheers Irene and Eamonn!

  • The Cosy Tiny House is a piece of heaven. It's warm, cozy and just beautiful. It's also perfectly located if you want to go to the beach, the Wicklow national park or spend a day in Dublin. Caroline is such a lovely lady, the communication beforehand was perfect, and we got a chance to meet her in person, for a lovely small chat. The house has everything you need, you just have to bring your bag, and relax. My favourite part was the beautiful view on the sea from the patio. Best morning coffee with a view I've had in long time !! I highly recommend this place if you want to spend a nice weekend in the countryside and recharge the batteries. We will definitely be back there some day. Thanks you so much !!

    Tatiana2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Carolines tiny house was the perfect fit for us! It was very clean, it had everything you could possibly need and it is so comfortable and cozy! We loved coming back to the tiny house after our windy and cold day trips 😊 we totally enjoyed our stay and consider to come back the next time we’ll be in Ireland. You’ll probably want to rent a car, since it’s not quite close to the city, but with a car you’ll be able to get anywhere pretty fast since the Highway is close to the house. Caroline was super nice and answered all our questions 😊 Thanks for a wonderful vacation

    Lisa2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • An ideal spot to get away and still be an easy distance from some stellar places

    Scarlett2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline cabin is a little pearl i would recommend everyone as an escape place from the city. I loved the zero waste philosophy of the house, the details and the peacefulness. The position is perfect to go and see the Wicklow moutains area. We had a really good time, i would love to go again soon!

    Chiara2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cosiest of places to stay, even during a storm! From our first moments to our last, it was just perfection. We didn't want to leave!! The facilities were more than expected. We kitchen, bathroom, sitting area and bed were so homely and ideal for this stay. It was the most romantic of homes to stay in, with so much to look at, take in and admire. For anybody worrying about heating etc, there's no need. The warmth in the cabin is second to none, the water is as hot as you could possibly need and the bed is as comfortable as possible. We loved all the small touches around the place too. We also met Caroline and John. A really lovely and chatty couple who were so accommodating. We would recommend this to any couple looking to switch of for a night or two and to just have that romantic getaway from reality.

Convenient to DART bus service is outside the estate. Fully self contained, with electric shower, washing machine dryer, iron & ironing board, microwave, TV, and free wireless broadband. We live in a quiet 5 bedded bungalow, myself and my son. I work part time as a Nurse/Psychotherapist/ Nutrition coach and Teacher - Depends what day - what hat I wear!! My son Matthew is 18 years old and loves music. We have 2 very friendly little rescue dogs, Dumpy ( called that by the guy who rescued him, because he was dumped out of a car!) and Loo Loo! ; and of course also our affectionate cat Tuddie! The cottage is situated in my garden and is a warm and comfortable space to get way from it all! It consists of a sleeping area for 2 - 3 people, small kitchenette and ensuite bathroom with a shower. The kitchen has everything needed to cook with small fridge and washing machine and dryer. The Cottage also has its own separate entrance from the my home so you can be as independent as you would like!
Our house is located in a lovely green quiet up-scale safe neighbourhood close to all local shops and 2 minutes by car to the Main Street in Bray which is very close to the sea front/promenade where there are numerous pubs and restaurants to choose from. Our part of the country is called The Garden of Ireland and is very close to the Wicklow Mountain National Park with the famous Glendalough.

The location is fantastic for bussing into Dublin, good for taking the DART in, and great to return to after admiring Bray Head and the waterfront. Gabby's dogs are super sweet, too! A beautiful 4-bed house in a quiet estate outside Bray, Co.Wicklow. The children have moved out and there is a beautiful, spacious double bedroom available. It's a welcoming family house and we would love to welcome new people to our home and treat them like a family member.

Bray is the biggest town in County Wicklow. It is known as the Gateway to the Garden of Ireland and is the longest established seaside town in Ireland. It is only 19km (12 miles) south of Dublin and is reached by DART, Train, Bus or the N11 road. There is a safe beach of sand and shingle to walk on and there is a spacious esplanade. The scene is dominated by Bray Head. The scenic Cliff Walk is on the eastern side of Bray Head continues along the cliff path towards Greystones offering walkers a feast of views on the way.
  • Peter is an amazing host. Extremely kind. In this area you're able to relax. He has many good ideas about what so see and where to get. The area is a paradise for geocaching and Peter knows about the two most important in this area.

  • We had a lovely stay with Peter and Trish. They have a beautiful sparkling clean house just a mile from the Bray train station and sea front. Peter was very kind to pick us up and drop us to the train station at an odd hour due to bad weather. We had a good breakfast table laid out in the morning and we got some great local tips for walks and restaurants around the place. Dublin city is just 30 mins by train. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a warm cosy stay a little away from the hustle and bustle.

  • Peter and Trisha (his wife) are spectacular! Very hospitable and knowledgable of Bray and Dublin. Probably the whole island. They're happy to show you around and help. The bedroom is nice, with plenty of space to put down and up stuff. It's warm, and the bed is very warm. Breakfast is continental. Took me about ten minutes to walk into town. Would return any time. You can't get better than this.

    Adam2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Both Peter and his wife, Trish, are very kind, welcoming and keen on providing local tips. Peter gave me a ride to the start of the cliff walk and pointed out a few nice places in town, whereas Trish helped me plan our trip to Wicklow mountains. We've experienced some outstanding hospitality and felt like at home. The house itself is located in a quiet residential area. It's within a walking distance to the dart station and aircoach stops. The bedroom has a very comfy bed and all the necessities are provided. I wish my stay had been longer!

    Kasia2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Peter’s place is in a very quiet and safe neighbourhood. 2 minutes walk to the bus 145 takes you directly to the Dublin City centre. Very impressed by the house garden and enjoyed the sunroom. Peter and his wife Trish are very welcoming host. Recommended!

  • We were greeted warmly by Anne and had 2 beautiful rooms to ourselves, which gave it an apartment-like feel. The rooms were lovingly decorated and sparkling clean. The bathroom is very modern and has an amazing large shower with lots of hot water and great pressure. If you get cold at night you will find an extra radiator and heated blanket. While breakfast was initially not included, Anne still spoiled us with her delicious homemade jam. Coffee and tea was also available, which we enjoyed with beautiful mountain views.

  • We spontaneous decided to spend some nights in Pat's guesthouse, which was no problem at all. The room was prepared - even before the planned time of arriving. Pat made us feel comfortable in the moment we entered the place. The nice details like the flexible breakfast and a huge bathroom made the stay even better. You share the place with other guests, which you don't have to meet if you don't want to. We can definitely recommend Pat's place to everyone who is happy with some personal interaction during the journey.

    Hannah2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was our last stop during a 3 week vacation, and Pat offered a very welcoming home focus to start unwinding. Home was spotlessly clean, bathroom was amazing.

  • A must-see if you're in the Wicklow Pat area, your house is immaculate and the breakfasts are perfect

  • Pat's place is cozy, clean and quiet and is located close to everything you might want to see in Bray. He gave us a lot of tips an recomandations what to do in Bray. The room was very nice and lovely and we had a great breakfast. We had a very nice time there. We definitely recommend this host :)

    Johanna2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place with an even more wonderful host. Firstly Pat instantly made us feel welcome with his great sense of humour and his genuine interest in getting to know us. He was there to welcome us when we first arrived and was always around to offer breakfast and tips on what to do with our day. The bedroom was clean and cosy, and the bathroom had a fantastic power shower. We met some other friendly guests who were also staying in the house at the same time and sharing a bathroom was never a problem. The house is located on a nice quiet street, and only a short walk away from the beach and the town centre. The main reason to stay here is for Pat, it was a real treat getting to stay with him. He had some top recommendations and a heart of gold. Thanks again Pat!

  • Par runs a great B&B in a suburban street with multiple rooms, loves to talk and entertain his guests and does a great spread for breakfast in the morning. Thank you!

    Geoff2019-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • I so enjoyed my stay with Pat. He was a terrific host, so nice a personable. The room was clean and comfortable. The living room has gas fireplace. It was nice to warm up after a chilly and rainy day of traveling. Pat also provides a light breakfast, which is so nice. Pat also was helpful with suggestions on the best way to travel between Bray and Dublin. He's warm and personable and easy to talk to. Bray is a fairly quiet town on the Irish Sea. It was nice to walk along the boardwalk. and there's places to eat within walking distance. I would recommend this Air B&B if you're traveling around southeast Ireland.

You’ll love our place for its rural easy access, privacy and quietness, large comfy bed, super shower, night-time stars, restful garden, wild birds and secure off-street parking. From our place you can enjoy scenic Wicklow from sandy beach in Brittas Bay to historic Wicklow town, Wicklow National Park and Powerscourt House and Estate to Glendalough Monastic Site. Drive to beautiful Avoca village, glorious Glenmalure and Wicklow Gap. Enjoy super walking trails. Great restaurants nearby.
Quick and easy access by car from our house to all of Wicklow's principal attractions. When you tire of lakes and mountains, we are 5 minutes from the coast. Near Wicklow town and it's ancient Gaol and fishing harbour. Near Greystones with its twenty restaurants, bars and interesting yacht harbour. The most beautiful beach on the east coast is 20 minutes away. Morning or evening, you can be on a deserted nearby beach in 5 minutes
We are just 1 Km from the M11 Dublin to Wexford motorway, offering easy access to the heart of Wicklow County, from coast to mountains. From our place you can be on the South Coast at Waterford in 90 minutes and Cork in a little over two hours. Our home is surrounded by green fields, with grazing cattle. Local wildlife includes foxes, pheasants, rabbits and the occasional deer. Our own Springer spaniel, Nanu, makes friends with all our guests, but we know that some guests prefer him to keep his distance, and we understand this perfectly.
  • Thank you for your hospitality. Your house cosy and sparkling clean. Thank you for the lovely breakfast. t was nice to get a chance to chat with you and Mary while we were having breakfast. It was a really nice chat. We love the en-suite bedroom. It is a 5 starts deluxe room. I definitely will come back again. Thank you.

  • The only aspect that exceeds the elegance of this accommodation was the elegance of our hosts. Truly wonderful stay.

  • Great hosts in lovely home.

    Patrick2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Mary and Vincent are wonderful hosts. We were warmly welcomed and felt very comfortable in their beautiful house. The room was very nice and clean with everything you need. The breakfast was very good and consisted of homemade fruit salad, bread and jam - the best irish brown bread we ever had. During our breakfast together, Mary and Vincent took a lot of time and gave us wonderful and helpful tips for excursions. Also the recommended pub in Newcastle was very good. Delicious Food and very friendly waiter. Mary and Vincent live Irish hospitality and we would come back anytime. Thank you for our wonderful stay!

  • Excellent hosts!! 😁☘️🇮🇪 We were very lucky to meet you. Very nice and comfortable place, Vincent provided us very good information about the tourism around Wicklow mountains. And finally we had a nice time to share during breakfast (so good and healthy). We’d like to stay longer

    Carolina2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • If you are in the Wicklow area, be sure to stay with Vincent and Mary. They are both lovely people and have an extremely comfortable place for you to stay in. They’re very hospitable and take excellent care of their guests. Thank for your warm hospitality! Sandy O.

  • Vincent and Mary were amazing hosts at their beautiful home. Would 100% recommend booking with them. Irish hospitality at its finest!

    Michael2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We would really recommend anyone to stay with Vincent and Mary. The room is beautiful and the en suite bathroom is very luxurious. The shower works perfectly, plenty of towels in room. Lovely fresh water provided, the room was spotless. We had a great nights sleep after attending a wedding in Druids Glen Hotel. The location is perfect only a 10 min drive from hotel. Value for money is excellent. Both Mary and Vincent had breakfast with us the following morning which was lovely we chatted for over an hour with Nanu (their dog) as our company. Very relaxing! 5* service from a genuinely lovely couple. We hope to be back in the near future! Thanks again for everything😀

Price includes breakfast: Orange / apple juice, yogurt, choice of cereals, toast, tea or coffee. (Eating out will cost €10 / €15 locally and there are NO add-on cleaning charges) Combined saving of at least €20 As previous guests confirm, it is only a 10-minute walk to the beach, coffee shops, bars, restaurants and entertainment. Trains and buses, 12-15 mins. Aircoach is a private company not licensed to stop in Bray central. It is a 25-minute walk but taxi’s are plentiful.

  • Clean and tidy home. Pat was a great host and I would highly recommend his place to anyone. The breakfast was simple but exactly what you would want with plenty provided. Very happy overall.

  • This is a very attractive and spacious house with a homely feel and excellent facilities. Beautifully presented throughout and very comfortable indeed. The location is terrific for visiting Brae and surrounding areas (10 minute walk to centre of Brae and public transport to Dublin ) Pat is a wonderful host - generous, warm and considerate of your every need. He makes your stay very pleasant and care free. I would highly recommend Pat to anyone looking for a happy friendly air bnb in the Dublin area.

  • Pat is a lovely gentleman, nothing is too much trouble, as you can see from his previous reviews. I had to leave really early on my final night, 4:15am to catch an early flight and he’d still laid everything out for me for breakfast. Thanks Pat and I’ll see you again if I’m in the area.

    Antony2018-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Pat's house has a beautiful little garden, a delicious breakfast every day, very comfortable bathroom facilities, and the beds in the room are very comfortable. I think the best thing is that even if you get home late, Pat will spend more time. Make a cup of tea and chat with me. If you have friends, you will be very kind and ask them to come in for a cup of tea. It feels like being in your own home. It is very warm and makes me look forward to going home every day! My staying experience in Bray was awesome!Pat is a very nice and warm person,he always share lots of information about Ireland and he is very knowledgeable! The location is good, it's near the beach and the bars. The room is very comfortable you Can see the beautiful view from your window, also the bathroom is very spacious and I really enjoy the hot shower!Very recommended! ! !

The Snug is located in beautiful surroundings with magnificent views. The open plan space is bright and full of character. There is a pub serving delicious food within walking distance and lovely walks in the area. A car is advisable as we are in a rural setting. There is a bus to Dublin and into Greystones 5 minutes up the road. We also provide breakfast supplies, tea, coffee and milk for your convenience.
The Snug is in a quiet, rural setting with lovely walks on the doorstep. It is also close to the lovely village of Delgany and the towns of Greystones and Bray. Dublin city center is 30mins drive away or 50 mins on the 133 bus with the bus stop within walking distance.
  • The Snug is a perfect place to stay if you wish to see both Dublin and Wicklow. We spent 6 nights there while we moved house and as we are locals we were familiar with the area. There is a great friendly pub called The Grove within walking distance serving lovely food and a very good pint of Guinness (or so my husband tells me) Thank you Susan and Patrick for your hospitality.

    Hazel2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Was such a great little appartment with perfect and so friendly hostility😊

    Franz2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Snug is just as it says Sung, but with plenty of room to move about. The accommodation is lovely, such special touches, room to move about, cook, eat and chill out, inside and outside. The views are amazing, watch the sun come up over Delgany and the moon light up the sea. Susan goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and there to give advice on how to make you stay memorable. We would defiantly recommend you stay there, but don’t book up every week as we would like to return.

    Irene2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we arrived at The Snug we felt totally at home. The place was spotless and the thoughtful touches like the fresh flowers and fruit, the homemade cup cakes and essential provisions (milk, bread, fresh coffee etc) made us feel totally welcome. The location for us was ideal with beautiful views of the Wicklow countryside and yet with easy access to the lovely villages of Delgany and Greystones. Susan and Patrick were the perfect hosts, not only providing us great advice on where to visit but also being great company on the occasions we got to meet and chat. The highlight for our kids was playing with Susan and Patrick's kids on the trampoline. They were a delight and our kids still talk about them. All in all, we had an amazing stay in this little gem in a beautiful part of Ireland.

  • Cosy, great view, great hospitality, attentive to details - like breakfast already available, including eggs. Perfect for us, family of 4: 35 min from Dublin, 20 min from Wicklow Mountains.

    Coen2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Do yourself a huge favor and stay at The Snug. Every touch is clean, comfortable and welcoming. The owners are a delight, the view is perfect. If I come back I will stay again!

  • We've booked this little lovely house for over a week for our wedding. We arrive in the afternoon and were greated by Susan and Patrick. While Susan was showing me the house and everything we needed to know, Patrick and my partner were doing the luggage. From the first moment we felt welcome. Over the next few days Susan checked on us if we needed anything and if everything was alright. After we came back from our wedding they had prepared a card and some champagne. Such a lovely touch and didn't expected it. The view from the house is just incredible over Delgany. It's the perfect size for a couple, you would definitely need a car, cause its a little bit up in the hill. Location and hospitality are just amazing and we would come back anytime. Thanks again

    Svenja2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • A truly warmed hearted Irish welcome and hospitality, Patrick and Susan are great people. They respect your privacy and also that you have everything you need. It's all around perfect.

  • I couldn’t say and be more satisfied with the place. I was looking for a great place for a special moment, and was amazing! The motor home is incredible, bigger then it looks, really comfortable, super clean...and George is an amazing host and person, really careful with details and everything else. We definitely going back

    Bernardo2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • George and his wife will be some of the loveliest hosts you will ever encounter. They quickly fixed every problem we had and went above and beyond to make sure that we felt comfortable in their lovely (motor)home. The camper van itself was also very nice. Very clean, has everything you'd expect a "normal" apartment or house to have, and is even bigger than it looks in the pictures. I can not recommend this place enough. It will surprise you in the best ways, especially if you've never lived in a motorhome before.

  • Had a great night in the motor home! It's really beautifully done up, with all modern facilities and super cosy and warm! Lovely views and location, and George and his wife were extremely nice!

    Aileen2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • George’s place was just what we needed for a quick little getaway. Very easy to find, close to the n11 but it’s pin drop quiet with beautiful scenery. Safely tucked away with extremely comfortable recliners for relaxing on a quiet night in. Everything is there to prepare your meals, with a sizeable fridge, plenty of hot water, toasty heat and a very cosy bed.

    Grainne2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time! Couldn’t have asked for a nicer host! George was very kind and helpful. Lovely area. The RV was was lovely and cosy, stylish and sparkling clean! We will be back to stay again! Would highly recommend!
