Nice cabin in the woods with great access to water. Views are spectacular. Hosts were attentive to all our needs.

We had the best time at this cabin. It has amazing views of the water and the lake is so peaceful. They had kayaks which made the experience more fun. The cabin has everything you could need and the pictures really do not do the cabin or it’s surroundings justice!

Great cabin in the woods. Rustic, charming, and overall great! There was very tasty well water & thoughtful notes throughout. The kayaks & the lake were amazing, and the stars were incredible, too. The binder with local tips, maps, etc was very thorough. I’d love to come back for longer. They set up a cot in the loft for one of my kids & put some collectibles up high out of reach of the kids. Even though we didn’t use it, the wood stove was prepped to light if we needed it. The cabin decor was so interesting & the magazines were nice, too. Full kitchen & Great dining table to share a meal with the family. The master bedroom windows have the best view as the sun rises, but there are blinds to block out the light too. We heard an owl in the evening & saw many loons on the water. Lovely stay!

We loved staying at Dana’s place! It’s a well kept older cabin in a gorgeous location. We only wish we had stayed more than one night! Very peaceful and relaxing.

This is the perfect get-away from regular life and reminds you why you love the outdoors. Jim and Doreen are perfect hosts and can help guide you along to a great trip!

Great overnight camp spot. Really appreciate the wood, including kindling. The outhouse is as clean as other reviewers have noted.

Amazing property, the hosts go above and beyond to provide you with what you need. We were very surprised to have a wood pile, and a grill with propane! Though we prefer to cook over the fire it was still fantastic to have! The outhouse is fabulous. Directions to the campsite were spot on. Truly a hidden gem and SO private! Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed the seclusion your campsite gave us. At first we thought the pile of wood was a tent with the tarp over it but were very glad for the wood that was there! It was also a beautiful stop before going to acadia national park!

Large roomy tents, comfortable sleeping bags and mats, a mobile outdoor kitchen, plenty of wood for the firepit - made our family a night to remember! Thank you!

The back house was much better than we expected and wonderful in every way. It was comfortable, warm, really stylish, great coffee, comfy bed. It felt spacious and private but it was very close to Belfast. We relaxed and took advantage of her suggested restaurants which were excellent. The exterior of the main house gives no indication of the adorableness of the inside. Highly recommend and hope to stay there again.

We spent two nights here on a winter weekend getaway, and loved it! I would highly recommend it. The space is cozy and charming, with great amenities - the bed is one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The Back House is a great value and offers easy access to Belfast, or other spots in the Midcoast or Downeast region.

Great little place to stay!

Such a lovely little cabin, perfect for one or two people. I needed a place to stay for one night while at the Common Ground Fair. The cabin was an easy 20-minute drive from the fairgrounds on country roads. It sits among a cluster of 3 or 4 cabins that share a driveway,so even though I was traveling alone I felt safe with other guests next door. It had been renovated recently so all of the wood inside was brand new ; the twin beds very comfortable; and the cabin was nicely decorated inside too. I didn’t have time to use the wood stove but I imagine that would be nice on a cool evening . There was an electric heater that warmed the cabin quickly. The kitchenette is on a screened porch. So sweet! And if all of that wasn’t enough to delight, the outside (heated) shower had just been installed and I was able to enjoy a warm shower outside in the morning. Such a wonderful experience! Next time, I will stay longer and use it as a jumping off pad to explore the Midcoast. Belfast is an easy 20-minute drive. Really enjoyed my all-too-short stay!

Very nice and cozy place. A small bed for 2 people but which favor the reconcialiation ;) . Outdoor shower 85% finished (very soon complete) but very effective. We loved the place. Thank you

An amazing place for quiet reflection and cozy comfort. The wood burning stove kept everything nice and toasty, but even if we had not used it, it was still warm and comfy inside. It did add a great amount of ambiance though! It doesn't have a tv, but we did not miss it even a little (even my teenage son didn't miss it!). Beds are quite comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean upon our arrival. If you have difficulty climbing, stay in the bed downstairs. But the loft upstairs was so nice and worth the climb up the unique staircase. Jim and Doreen's directions were spot on and they gave us a head's up on any inclement weather conditions. It was a wonderful place to stay and we hope to be back again next year!

Such an amazing spot! You won't regret staying here, we are already plotting our return. Note that nearby Ralph's is not currently open for dinner so you will need to travel a bit for dinner (it's open for breakfast and lunch though!! It's sooo good)!

This cottage was perfect for our stay in Maine. It was very clean and quite cozy. It has a homey feel that you don't get everywhere. There was easy communication with the hosts and questions were answered quickly. We throughly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to stay again.

This cabin is amazing. It’s gorgeous, clean, smells incredible, and is just the right distance away from town. My husband and I aren’t very outdoorsy, but we loved it. I think people more outdoorsy than we are would absolutely adore it here. The beds were both so comfy, and the pillows are amazing. The wood burning stove is also great! Love, love, love.

What an excellent cabin!! Cozy, clean and just adorable! Relaxed by the fire pit and snuggled up for a couple nights for a weekend getaway. Not hard to find at all and great local stores for food and goods. Loved Ralph's cafe down the road. We will be back to visit again for sure! Don't pass up a chance to stay here if you can!

Location was pretty far out there but it's sure worth it. Dan was really nice and gave us great tips for local attractions. Great communicator respond super quick. I would definitely go there again.

This Air BNB, Log cabin at Stonecrop Meadow hosted by Dan in Hampden, Maine, is a lovely log cabin in a beautiful traditional Maine setting. Dan is an excellent host making sure every detail was managed with care. The accommodations were very warm, comfortable and inviting. Dan is very knowledgeable about the area and can help make a visit there very enjoyable. I will book this lodging again when in the area.

Great how this place is both convenient yet remote and rustic and comfortable! It is an easy drive to the Bangor airport and to other destinations in this part of Maine, but the long dirt road to the property was my first indication that this Airbnb is nestled in a wooded area off the beaten track. There is a large meadow which was sunny and warm during my October visit, there are trails right out the back door of the cabin, there is a well stocked kitchen and cupboards filled with bathroom supplies and linens, and the queen room was warm and cozy. I slept well and woke to the sounds of the rooster, perfect!

The place really does feel like a little home away from home. It’s spacious, clean, and there is literally everything you need; from spices to board games. The host is super friendly and replies very fast. Everything worked out perfectly and we had an amazing time. Already recommend the place to a friend.

You can expect a clean, cozy and carefree atmosphere, just like home. It is easy to relax and sit around the kitchen table with coffee in the morning or spend a casual evening at the cottage with take out food from one of the many restaurants in Belfast. It is close to everything, yet very quiet at night.

What a comfortable little house in a perfect location that allows you to enjoy everything that Belfast offers. This is our second time staying in the house and once again we had a wonderful time.

Awesome place to stay, very convenient location to everything

This little loft is a gem! It's location is perfect and having the cafe right downstairs was so great, we literally walked out one door and in the other, didn't even need jackets (on a very cold day), and had a wonderful breakfast! The bed is extremely comfortable and I really appreciated all the appliances and dishes available as I hung out there for a good portion of a day while the husband was ice fishing....I stayed in and had coffee and eggs (in the microwave) for breakfast and pizza (in the toaster oven) for lunch. Hot water in the shower never got close to running out for us and Tamika even provides some essential toiletries in case you forget yours. We stayed nice and toasty warm and there were so many blankets provided in case we needed them. All in all, a place we loved to stay, very comfortable and you have to try the cafe when you visit! Top notch hosts!

This little apartment sits right over a cafe that the owners own it was a nice little treat to go just a few steps down stairs and have a bite to eat. The hosts are very fast to respond and very gracious. Small touches made the apartment special. The bed was super comfy! Plenty of covers for winter time travel! Percent for 3 people! Right in downtown Unity. Will stay again!

Perfect gem, located right in downtown Unity. Comfy beds, cozy comforters, and great heat system meant we slept warm and snug in spite of single digit temperatures outside. Tamika and Dan are wonderful hosts.

Mo, the host, is truly a gem and so humble! She has a wealth of experiences, and these touches make the stay so thoughtful and comfortable. She has an lively farm, and her dogs are such funny characters. If you’re in Maine and want to get away from the hustle and bustle to slow down your pace, this is a great place to do so. My only regret is not having stayed longer!! Highlight of my trip.

Exceptional accommodations on a bucolic working farm with the most welcoming and attentive host! Truly unique experience, you will not be disappointed. Comfortable, welcoming and very clean home!

As a fine arts painter, I look for out of the way places to stay and paint. Mo’s place fit that bill nicely. My host (Mo) was friendly and very helpful in pointing out places to paint and things to do the area. I enjoyed a nice meal at the local cafe (Sweet Season Farm Cafe) and then stopped in at the local Blueberry Festival. My room upstairs had its own entrance and was comfortable, neat and clean. The place is a small working farm, with chickens, cows, sheep, pigs and two large friendly dogs. I would definitely visit again.

We loved this apartment so much! Amy was very friendly and helpful & it was super clean! My boyfriend and I both agree it’s the most comfortable bed we’ve ever had at an Airbnb! Would highly recommend:)

Amy’s place is a nice place! I stayed there while visiting family. It’s a modern and simple place that has all the essentials- towels, WiFi, Roku and coffee! I found the place to be sparkling clean. I didn’t interact with Amy but I prefer less interaction while traveling as I’m typically too busy and/ or tired from driving to want interaction. It’s just a few minutes outside of town and easy to find.

The word apartment doesn’t do it justice. It looks and feels like you’re staying in a tiny little cottage! Very clean and quiet. Although the sofa was rather uncomfortable the comfy bed made up for it.

It was a great stay, the apartment was lovely and Amy was a wonderful host! It was super clean, and cute, and check in and check out was very laid back which was great.

Tom's hand-built cabin with bathroom facility and outdoor shower adjacent was the perfect upgrade from camping - snug, comfortable, conveniently appointed and homey (hand-painted with glow in dark stars in sleeping loft!) Great for a single and can accommodate a couple, it is a very private setting behind the vegetable garden on his property in a woodsy setting in the hills above the mid-coast towns and the very nice Belfast with it's terrific co-op to anchor, about a 20-25 min drive down the pleasant scenic Rt. 173. Stop at any of the several roadside stores they're all good, open early and late, and Weaver's has a morning bakery as the sun is coming up. Tom and wife are super nice and authentic. The tiney house was awesome! Very comfortable, just like the ones on TV. It was perfect, rustic but comfortable, I spent my days exploring the coastle cities of Maine and hiking. It was so cool to actually stay someplace that was really doing the sustainable lifestyle! I'm def going back again! Tom was super nice, even refunded me when I had to check out early for work, and didn't mind checking me in in the middle of the night lol, it was great!

Thank you for opening up your home to my family and two dogs. It was a highlight of our trip. Hopefully we will be back next year.

Great historical place to stay in Waterville, Maine. Dana's house has so many lovely little touches- I may have indulged more than I should have in the chocolates dish- sorry Dana! Good communication leading up to our arrival, and we felt very welcome when greeted at the front door.

Anchor House is the perfect spot for a cozy getaway! Dana and Anne are wonderful hosts, and the apartment is spacious, charming and relaxing; very convenient to Maine points downeast, north and beyond. Enthusiastically recommended!

The cabin was so clean and cozy! They offered linens and snacks as well as lots of tips and suggestions for activities/restaurants for the area. Such a quiet place close enough to Acadia, so you get a full experience. The hosts are so kind and interested in making sure that your trip goes well! Definitely a place we would return to.

Jon is a great host providing plenty of suggestion and knowledge of the area. The cabin was impeccably clean with special added touches like no other. We will deffinately be returning.

This is a beautiful cabin, perfectly laid out and clean. Linens, snacks, somehow no bugs and close to lots of lovely places which Jon can tell you all about.

My girlfriend and I spent a delightful long weekend exploring the Mid-Coastal region of Maine, with Jon's lovely cabin as a perfect base. Jon and his wife Martha were extremely hospitable, offering us tailored recommendations for places to visit based on our interests. The cabin was spotlessly clean and stocked with unexpected but much appreciated amenities, such as freshly ground coffee, orange juice, milk, and snacks. Whatever your reasons for visiting the area, I imagine you'd be hard pressed to find a more perfect spot.

We had a lovely stay. Jon was a great host. He greeted us as soon as we pulled in and showed us around the cabin. He gave us a lot of suggestions for fun things to do in the area. My daughter was sick and Jon gave told me where the closest hospital was. He also checked in with us to see how she was feeling throughout our stay. Jon was very friendly and thoughtful. The cabin was perfectly clean and comfortable. It was stocked with snacks, fresh ground coffee, tea, and drinks. I would definitely stay here again!

Lots of places say “sparkling clean.” This one really is. 4 years old and still brand new. The spot is perfectly serene and the host exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable.

Jon's cabin is a great little spot off the beaten path. We arrived a little early which was no problem since the cabin is located right next to Jon's house. He was quick to come out and greet us before we even got to the door. Jon was very welcoming and pleasant. He gave us a great background of the cabin and the story of building it as well as his own home. He brought us into the cabin and gave us an overview for our stay. He had freshly ground coffee as well as a stock of snacks, and water and milk in the fridge. The cabin had WiFi which was great. Jon provided us a list of things to do in the surrounding area, Belfast, ME being one of the suggestions that we took him up on. It was a quick little trip with lots to do. Most of our time was in Bangor which was just 40 minutes away so the cabin was in a good spot for us. We communicated with Jon a few times through AirBnB and he was very responsive. Upon our departure, Jon came out to meet us to ensure we had a pleasant time. If/when we return to the area we would certainly check to see if the cabin in available. It's a great place and Jon is an excellent host.

Jon's cabin is the perfect getaway for a weekend in Maine. Jon claimed the cabin was three years old -- but to be honest, it felt brand new to us! It was immaculately clean, and still smelled of fresh wood. Jon's hospitality was also above expectations -- he provided all kinds of goodies in the cabin (including lots of fresh coffee, cocoa, tea, snacks, and even wine!). He added special touches, like a greeting in Nepali to welcome the guests I was staying with. Also, on size: my group had four people, and we felt comfortable, despite the small space. Though this is a cabin, it still has modern amenities -- the bathroom was fully functional with hot water (unlimited -- no running out of hot water!). In short, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a secluded, quiet, but comfortable place in Maine.

The space itself is sparkly clean, roomy, cozy & well appointed! We arrived late at night and Diane had left the light on for us. It was so nice to wake up to beautiful fall colors! We used the generous selection of homemade jams, English muffins, fresh eggs & Canadian bacon, and a load of fruit (apples, peaches & pears) to cook a big breakfast! Meeting Diane, Kevin & the dogs was an extra bonus!! My advice: if you are anywhere near Unity, book it!! You will not regret it!

We had a nice stay at Ivy and Chris. We were well received, entry was easy. Their house is very unique with a unique decoration. We recommend!

The bed is ultra cozy and comfortable, the decorations are homey and artistic. Great shower pressure and all in all we felt welcome and at home here. So close to Main Street and all of the delightful shops by the harbor. And Ivy is a fantastic host!! We barely saw Chris, but the little bit we did, he was lovely and warm as well.

Ivy is a welcoming host and her home is in a prime locale in Belfast! This is a great launching point to explore the city and take in the local culture.

The bedroom is cute, and the bed is comfortable. There is a coffee maker and water. The bathroom is also very nice. It is walking distance to town if you don't want to take your car. It took us about fifteen minutes to walk in for dinner. Ivy and Chris were lovely, and Chris even offered to give us tips about where to eat. A great experience!

This was a great place to stay for a couple nights, and the room was super cozy, especially with the heater. It was super close to Colby, which is great if you’re visiting there.

This is a comfy apartment. We stayed a long weekend and I was able to cook two full meals using the kitchen and we did our laundry in with the provided washer/dryer. The apartment is nice and warm in the wintertime. It has a spacious bathroom with a big shower. It's right off Route 1, easy to find but quiet and secluded. It's a quick walk to the footbridge into the Belfast Riverwalk along the harbor and into downtown. Alana is a great, responsive host and the place was clean and well appointed.

This place was beautiful!! The windows are so large and you can see incredible sunrises over the ocean. It was spacious and worked really well for thee of us to stay and a team of five to work out of for an intensive week. We were so pleased!!!

This is an amazing find for midcoast Maine. The apartment is a gorgeous loft apartment with two very spacious, comfortable bedrooms and of course a huge living/kitchen area. Check in was a breeze and you literally have the best of Belfast and midcoast right out your door. Stay in town or go explore all the wonderful offerings of the midcoast. It's lovely not having to drive to get breakfast at Chase's Daily or snacks at the food co-op. It would be very very comfortable for two couples, or a family. A very well appointed kitchen would make having meals at home very easy after a long day exploring. We'll hopefully be back anytime we need to stay in Belfast!

This beautiful apartment was everything we hoped for and more. Very tastefully decorated, very comfortable (warm and toasty even in frigid winter temps) with a nice couch and tables to spread out for reading and chatting, perfect in-town location, super comfy bed to sink into at the end of the day, quick and friendly response from host when we had questions. Only downside is we wish we could have stayed longer!

This is excellent value for both the accommodation and location near Belfast! Wish I had had more time to stay in this charming historic house, with comfortable bed and good choice of books and a helpful host! I would definitely come back and stay longer! Belfast itself is also well worth a visit!

The space is old - it is an old farm house and says as much in the description - but the bed was super comfy, everything was spotless, check in was super simple and Charlie offered some great suggestions for local dining and drinking. This is a lovely peaceful cabin in Maine. It is cozy, clean, and comfortable. Doreen and Jim are attentive hosts. I enjoy staying here when I get the chance. It is a wonderful place to recharge.

Second-timers to this wonderful cabin. Entering into the Beehive is like stepping into peace and tranquility. The decor and furnishings are both charming and comfortable. On a chilly night, the wood cooking stove provides cozy warmth. On a warm night, open the doors for cool breeze. In the morning, you can listen to the birds singing while enjoying a hot cup of coffee. I just can't fully explain how special this place is. The hosts, Jim and Doreen, make you feel so welcomed- we had a fantastic-smelling lit candle and warm stove waiting for us when we arrived. If you are looking for a "happy place", look no further!

The Beehive cabin was a truly delightful space for our Valentine's weekend getaway. Jim and Doreen were communicative and accessible while respecting our privacy, and truly hospitable. On the day of our arrival we drove through very wintry conditions and Jim had a fire going in the woodstove for us. The space was charming, clean, stylishly decorated and with all the basic amenities needed: comfortable furniture, reliable electricity and wifi, hot water and a truly gorgeous surrounding landscape. For those looking for fun winter activities (or year round!) nearby, there's Northern Solstice Alpaca Farm and the Community Market 20 minutes west in Unity and Jacobson Glass Studio half an hour south in Montville. We plan to stay again in the future and will recommend this host to friends and family.

If you are looking for a cozy, warm stay in a rustic cabin, Jim and Doreen's Bee Hive is ideal for one to two people. The cabin was neat and clean and perfect for my mid-October visit to Maine. Jim and Doreen were great at communicating with me in advance of my stay and absolutely accommodating in every way. I would highly recommend this cabin (and these hosts!) to anyone looking for an inexpensive getaway in Mid-Maine.

Staying in the beehive cabin was the highlight of our trip. It poured rain one day and we made a fort in the pillows on the bed in the loft and read and dozed. It was heaven!

Staying in Sam's r-pod was a really cool experience. The "pod" was clean and well organized. It just has a comfortable and unique feel. Its close to downrown and yet feels out in the country. I appreciate the eco-friendliness and concern for the enviornment. I would recommend to anyone looking for something a little different.

Great option for a private sleeping quarters en route heading north to Acadia! Trailer is a nicely arranged space to enjoy for cooking, sleeping, and sitting around while talking or using mobile devices. Loved aroma of evergreens on paths to trailer and outhouse. Close to center of Belfast, but surprisingly quiet neighborhood for good sleep.

This Airbnb is better than expected! It’s cute and has all you need! The outhouse is a bit buggy, but much cleaner than anticipated! This family cares about the environment and there are so many details that show this! We loved our time here. The early morning was so beautiful and quiet. It was lovely to sit outside drinking tea while the sun rose. We were grateful for our time here!

The camper was a lovely way to spend a work night! Check-in couldn't have been easier, the camper was super clean and had enough privacy to feel like a mini get-away. I was glad I brought a blanket, but I chose not to turn on the heat until I got up to shower in the am. Glad I brought shampoo, it's listed in the amenities, but there wasn't soap or shampoo in the shower. Overall, a great place for the money and if I come back in warm weather, I'd check it out again.

The accommodations were exactly as described. It was like staying at your own private campground. It was very quiet at night. The outhouse was clean and very convenient.

My boyfriend and I travelled to Maine for a wedding, and we had an amazing time! Hope & Jamie we’re incredibly responsive, accommodating and kind! They had fresh flowers at home waiting for us (I love flowers), and the studio was super clean! Very peaceful and quiet area! When we weren’t at the wedding venue, my boyfriend and I got to enjoy a couple of drinks while playing scrabble, which was available for us! We would definitely come back!!

My girlfriend and I had an excellent stay in this beautiful home! It was perfect for the two of us and served as an awesome home base for all the traveling we did around Maine. From here we easily travelled to Belfast, Camden, Rockland, Acadia state park, bar harbor, Portland and Bangor with ease. Just a few minutes down the road you can find a general store and even a dollar general to get any necessities you forgot! The home was beautifully decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable. Thank you again for the amazing stay!

Perfect spot

Beautiful, quiet, relaxing place for a getaway. The view from the deck is breath-taking- we went during leaf peeping season and were sure to wake up to watch the sun rise!

The pictures just don’t do this really unique space justice —the view is breathtaking and the cabin is very cozy. Loved that we were in a very walkable distance to the brewpub yet when you’re at the cabin, you are still secluded and feels private. The host and those we met in the brewpub were super friendly — We definitely hope to return!

This was the perfect getaway for my husband and I. The views are incredible. The cabin is adorable and cozy. You must go eat the brewpub while you’re here. The food and staff were incredible. Guy was excellent with communication and answered all my messages promptly.

We had a wonderful experience in Guy’s cabin. Not only was the cabin itself charming and perfect for our family get-away, but the brew pub on site with delicious wood-fired pizza, great beer, hard cider and bbq, made our experience OUTSTANDING. We loved our stay at Guy's cabin - it is truly a special place and you can tell that Guy has put in a lot of thought to make it a wonderful experience for his guests. Our only regret is that we didn't get to spend longer there. Check-in and communication were super easy. We loved that there are trails to explore right out the back door (thanks Guy for your work on this), and as everyone has mentioned, the view from the cabin is amazing. Having the brewpub onsite is convenient but set just far enough to still feel private. The food was excellent! Just a heads up that there's no oven (in case like us you bought certain groceries), but otherwise, the cabin has everything you'd need. We hope to be back enjoying the view!

Such a unique and cozy place!

Our family of 8 very much enjoyed our stay at Laura’s cabin & caboose! It was really an ideal spot for us. The 4 boys loved sleeping and playing in the caboose. Our girls were thrilled with the loft. We had 2 very cozy and pleasant evenings together. The fireplace great! Home away from home!

Laura and Chris's cabin and caboose are nothing short of amazing, from the milky way at night to the trails and coffee in the morning. Both spaces are impressive with their comfy touches. Laura was a great host by accommodating us at the last minute and the space was absolutely immaculate. Also, there's an apple orchard and the cabin/caboose fits 8 people with two bathrooms-like you needed more convincing. I'll undoubtedly be back! Thank you!

This is wonderful place to stay. Both Caboose and Cabin are very unique and we love both of the exterior and interior. I really appreciate that Laura offered this place for me to propose to girlfriend. Our friends also enjoyed staying with us. We would definite come back again in the future.

Dan is a great person. His home is cozy and warm. The twin beds were much more comfortable abd suprising as I expected college form style i was wrong. I also the the property layout. His helpful little cheat sheet of the area is perfect. If you've never been and you like seafood try anglers get the pie its worth it. The chickens were a nice touch and it was absolutely beautiful there. No complaints was a great place to visit.

The place is a cute log cabin in a nicely wooded area. It was close to Bangor and we used it as a central hub to explore Maine. Dan was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was included and it was nice having a vacation so we didn't have to eat out every meal. Enjoyed our stay and the peace and quite of the cabin.

Great value! This little homestead is very remote but closer to Bangor. You can sit on the front porch and feed the chickens. Out just admire the nature.

Amazing log cabin with a private garden filled with vegetables, animals and surrounded by woods. A true get a way in the woods of Maine.

We had a brilliant time staying with Dan! The log cabin is beautiful, well equipped, cosy, and so, so welcoming. Dan is a true gentleman, very laid back, and so gracious and considerate. The guest experience has been so throughly thought about - everything was labelled for the convenience of the guests, from kitchen cupboards, to light switches, to shelves in the linen closets where fresh, clean towels were provided on a help-yourself basis. The beds were cosy and clean, the living space snug and friendly. The garden is incredable! If you are an animal lover, then there are chickens that roam free, who will run up to you if you shake the jar of cracked corn that lives on the porch. It was a brilliant, brilliant stay! Highly recommended!

Amazing little cabin with everything and more!!! Beautiful views of the lake peaceful atmosphere and a warm cabin for those chili October nights. Sam was absolutely great a text away but we got all the privacy we could ask for even though the main house is a few steps away. The cabin was spotless,comfy and plenty of room. We were able to cook our dinner in the BBQ and our breakfast in the little oven. A good size refrigerator in the cabin made it a lot easier then using a cooler. I was very hesitant of the outside shower for those chili October nights but it was the best thing ever!!! We did not use the kayaks but Sam made sure we knew there were available. We will definitely return during the summer so we can make a better use of the lake. Thank you for having us.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sam’s place. We spent most of our trip at Acadia, but the cabin is nearby other nature sights, plus there were kayaks we could have used. The heater kept us warm when we were worried we might get cold. Sam and Jamie were kind and communicative and we couldn’t have asked for more responsive and attentive hosts! This cabin felt spacious despite the fact that we had four people there, and it’s a great value. We would certainly return.

The cottage was perfect for our short fall trip in Maine! Maia and Jacob manage to offer an off the grid experience that is unique, simple and comfortable, complete with romantic oil lamp lighting, a great collection of books and games, and beautiful views around the property. Be aware that cell service might be spotty in the area. If you think you may need more light, you could always bring your own headlamp. Though we didnt get to meet our hosts Maia was super communicative and provided great instructions for getting there and recommendations nearby as well. Highly recommend!

Our only regret was not having the opportunity to meet Julie & Steve :( But we intend to return again... & aaagain... and hope to be able to thank these two kind souls in-person for sharing this little piece of paradise with us & the Airbnb community at large. This place will not be for everyone.. if you need electricity, AC, kitchen, modern bathroom, etc look elsewhere.. But, if you want to step back in time, the quiet of nature, intimate space, and a great breakfast served by Gretchen’s children, this may be for you!

An amazing little cabin on beautiful land. A lovely way to unwind.

Nice and simple. Not heated but stayed warm on a rainy April night. Make sure to bring flashlights/ headlamps. The upper bed was fine for us but I can imagine it might be a little restrictive for larger people. But, the tight space helped up stay warm. The large window allows in a lot of light so the space feel airy and roomy. We appreciate that the hosts left a large jug of drinking water for us. Our kids really enjoyed the space especially a great pillow fight on that fun fold down couch/ bed. Thank you for a cozy experience and an easy stay. Your family was so welcoming.

This is beautiful small cabin with one comfortable bed and lots of privacy. When I went in April it was a bit cold, the first night was colder than the rest but with the wool blankets that Gretchen provided and my sleeping bag I slept so comfortable. The outhouse it’s closer to the main house than the cabin, so if you need to use it at night bring a flashlight. Don’t forget to read the article in the binder, about the history of the area. It was very informative and I appreciate it. I had such a relaxing time, thank you.

This is our second stay at Edwards place, we loved sharing it with our grown children and our granddaughter.

The pictures and description really don't do justice to how delightful the cottage is. My friend and I agreed we could easily move right in. We arrived fairly late after driving through the country. Wondering where on earth we could find food, I called Ed who suggested the general store in Washington. By all means, plans to get your meals there. The pizza was very good, the staff were friendly, and the some of the local folk chatted with us in the morning as we enjoyed a breakfast of quiche.

Edwards place was nice.

We loved staying here! Edward voluntarily went out of his way to go back to the property and turn the lights on when I mentioned we would have a late arrival. We especially loved fresh blueberry pancakes at the cafe the morning after our stay. Thank you for your exceptional hospitality and beautiful home.

The space was larger than we expected, peaceful and very clean. It’s in a lovely area away from busy streets and has fields and a wooded area you can walk through. The store is only open on weekends (as stated in the description), which looked really nice. This place reminded me of growing up without internet, etc, which was very idyllic for us. Ed was very accommodating when we had to alter our reservation.
