  • The tiny cabin was perfect for the two of us wanting to get away from the city. It’s closer to a busy road than we expected but it had a very secluded feel when inside. There were great little touches such as wine glasses and a corkscrew, as well as coffee, creamer and coffee mugs. It was a great few days stay, very cozy!

    Erin2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a quaint and cozy cabin!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay—our very first Airbnb experience. Our only regret is that we didn’t have more time to explore/hike the surrounding area. We highly recommend Charlie and Andra’s little cabin.

  • Absolutely loved this little cabin. The location was perfect for us. The cabin is so adorable. Plenty of room for myself and my mom. Andra was very quick to respond when I had a question and was very accommodating. Thanks so much for the hospitality. We will definitely be back.

    Susana2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice clean cabin . The host was great and even sent something back to us that we left there. I would definitely recommend staying with them.

    Josh2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • These are cute cabins that are clean and functional. Everything is as advertised. Location is 10 min south of Manistee and a bit farther north of Ludington. Next to a busy road, but traffic isn't too bad as the cabins are set back a ways. Campfire is an option, which was nice. Mosquitos were bad, but that's no one's fault! Charlie and Andra were hospitable, accommodating, friendly, and gave us local tips. Would highly recommend as a great place to stay for a few days getaway.

Cool Creek Cabin is located within the Manistee National Forest, along the bank of cool creek. The property is 10 acres with a nice trail that leads to the creek and a private bridge. The property is heavily wooded with many old growth oaks and poplar trees. There are many outdoor opportunities located near the cabin such as pine lake recreation area, the Big M cross country skiing and hiking trail system and many great trout streams and rivers. Come unplug and relax up north at cool creek cabin
The cabin is a small cozy one bedroom that has recently been updated.
  • Wonderful cabin in the woods! Many nearby trails. The thoughtful touches in the cabin were greatly appreciated! Perfect location for our outdoor adventures! ( Even though the race at big M was cancelled) we will be excited to stay here again!!

    Andrea2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • If you're hesitating to book this place, do it! We loved the nature and coziness of the cabin. Perfect for cooler weeks!

    Gwendolyn2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • You have to stay here. Cabin and property were amazing. Unbelievably clean. Host is awesome.

    Mark2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Cool Creek Cabin is a wonderful place to unwind! It’s beautiful both inside and outside, with nice trails and a good selection of movies and games. We felt welcomed and right at home immediately thanks to Michael and Lindsay’s thoughtful touches.

    Faith2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin is an amazing getaway for a weekend!! I would suggest it to anyone!

    Brandy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • So happy we chose this cabin! It was simply gorgeous, both on the inside and out. The inside of the cabin was so cozy and well decorated! It had everything you Could need and I loved all the details. The hosts were so great at communicating, offering local tips, and even had a welcome basket when we arrived. We brought our dog and she loved roaming around on the land around the cabin. It was so gorgeous we could have just hiked around there and been content. We loved being so close to traverse city, manistee, manistee river trail, and caberfae ski resort. Can’t wait to come again next year :)

    Kirsten2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Small enough to make you feel like it's your own little suite, but big enough to where you don't feel claustrophobic. It really is a wonderful place to stay. I would love to come back and stay here to do some more exploring in the Manistee/Irons area. Michael and Lindsay really provide all the perfect amenities and little tips to make sure it feels like a home away from home!

    Emmalee2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a clean, cozy getaway cabin in northern Michigan, this is your place! Michael and Lindsay add so many thoughtful touches, from extra toiletries in the bathroom to a snack basket and coffee supplies. The cabin is sparkling clean and the decor is darling. There are plenty of extra linens and bedding (towels, blankets, pillows). We went for snowmobiling, and there is adequate space in the driveway for a trailer and sleds. If you're going to snowmobile, you do need to take some back roads to access the trails. Overall, we absolutely loved it here, and would highly recommend!

  • Great place - hike- fish - and explore

    Jen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous place to relax and unwind. Everything is there, and then some. You won't be disappointed.

    Bob2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Another delightful stay at Zane's Landing! This could be becoming our annual winter retreat. Drove up in a snow storm which only added to the magic of arrival: lights, heat and music on...just as welcoming and spotless as last year. Greatly appreciated the short hike suggestion from the house. While we adventured all over last year, we opted to stay close to the cabin, drink lots of coffee, watch the birds and get cozy with books. And the electronic disconnection only added to our "up north" experience. Thanks again to Michael and Lindsay for hosting!

    Dieneke2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great space. Great location for winter fun!

    Barb2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Zane’s Landing. The cabin, location, and nearby outdoor activities make this a complete gem. We look forward to returning soon!

    Jon2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • As always, Zane's landing was a wonderful stay. The house itself is beautifully decorated with unique elements (from Michael's travels in the coast guard I assume). The location couldn't be better, with tons of outdoor things to do. Being from the northern part of Michigan myself, this was much appreciated. While we were not out exploring, we were enjoying the comfy atmosphere of the house. We love that we can bring our dog here and enjoy the outdoors!

    Kaitlin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time! Tons of things to do outdoors. Looking forward to come again in warmer weather to canoe the Little Manistee River.

    Kristen2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely amazing. We had a great, relaxing weekend. Close to Big M, Caberfae and Manistee. Lots of options for outdoor activities. You can't go wrong staying here!

  • As Always, Charlie and Andra are wonderful hosts that put a lot of thought and time in their lovely cabins. This is the third time I've been here with my kids. I'm pretty sure this is going to start being a "staple Airbnbs" in the upcoming years because it provides quality time with my babies. It is perfect: quiet, has a beautiful environment, great amenities, and thoughtful hosts. I like the option to have pets, though didn't bring mine this time around. Thanks Andra and Charlie.

We are in the perfect location, 3 miles to town and 3 miles to the State Park, right on Lincoln Lake. Come and enjoy some time relaxing in a private guest house. Enjoy a hot tub or time in the sauna, after a nice ride on our kayak's or canoe. There are two kayaks and a canoe to enjoy. Lincoln Lake goes right out into Lake Michigan. We offer WiFi and a full private kitchen, living room, dinning room, bedroom, and office. Ludington has a ton of wonderful things to do.
The West Wing is a beautiful location away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Enjoy picturesque views of Lincoln Lake while enjoying the hot tub and sauna. Go on a fun bike ride to the State Park or downtown. Float down the river at the state park or go on hike.
We are located in the perfect spot, close to town and all the activities and just around the corner from the State Park with all the nature you could ask for. The house is located on a beautifully wooded acreage in a neighborhood setting. Ludington offers many things to do, such as: go to the beach, go kayaking or canoeing, White Pine Village, take a walk out on the break wall and visit our lighthouse, get ice cream at House of Flavors, watch the LMC Badger go out, go to the Amber Elk Ranch, go shopping downtown Ludington, visit Pentwater for more shopping, on a calm day get up early and kayak out to lake Michigan, go play Frisbee golf off Jabavy, visit the water front park at the end of S. William St., Go sample local wines at Love Wines, sample some of the local beers at three different breweries, visit the children's museum, float down the river at the state park, go to the Maritime Museum, check on the new children’s climbing park at the end of the state park and much more.

  • Great place to stay

    Nicole2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • WONDERFUL PLACE! The owners have left the floodplain to the lake fairly natural and I really appreciated the natural beauty. The place is perfect for a romantic getaway for a couple. There was an ice storm and we didn’t even miss not being able to be outside! There is a large number of naturalist books and other books so no need to bring any! Fun board games including Catan and Pictionary. Hot tub is perfect. Everything is sparkling clean. As another review noted the foam mattress top may not be for everyone and the shower water pressure is not what I would expect, but neither would prevent me from staying again.

    Tamara2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Kitchen amenities are superb, the hot tub works great, and the wet sauna is fantastic. It is the wing of a house so it is attached and not a free standing rental. That being said there was complete privacy and easy access.

Our home has a great location in the lovely and historical city of Manistee. The house is ready to host a group or family of up to 10 people. You will be less than a mile away from the beautiful 5th Avenue Beach, Maple Street Drawbridge and Historic Downtown Manistee. Special Perks include: - Plenty of Available Street Parking - 2 Car Garage - Free to Use Bikes with Locks and a Basket - Fenced yard - Lighted patio with chairs
This home was built in 1900 at the height of Manistee's growth. It was renovated with a modern flare in July 2018 with the purpose to be a vacation house where people can take in what this lovely town has to offer. There is more than enough floor space for a large group to spend time together and sleep comfortably. The table has extensions and extra chairs to seat 10 people together, although a smaller family will feel comfortable too. The high ceilings on the upper floor give the bedrooms a very up-scale feel. All the bedrooms, landing and living room area have brand new furniture. You even have a place to put bikes, cars, beach gear, etc with included 2 car garage. The best part is that you can walk or use the bikes to get to 5th Avenue Beach which has access to the lighthouse, the beach house and free parking. You can also cross the Maple Street Drawbridge to easily get to Historic Downtown Manistee.
This is a quiet and safe neighborhood with lots of normal residential housing around. You will feel a part of the community when you bike to the beach, downtown or just down the road to North Channel Brewing Company. There is easy access (less than 3 minutes) to restaurants, shopping, grocery, riverwalk and even a Saturday Farmer's Market in the summer.
  • Very spacious and very clean. Lots of room to move around. Kitchen is very nice! All rooms were clean and nice!

  • Large space which is well laid out for 6-8 people.

    Rob2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The house was clean, in a good location, and had lots of room. We have a family that includes 3 daughters and one son and the layout worked well. The unit has a full-sized washer/dryer which is nice. It does lack a dishwasher/garbage disposal which is no big deal, but just be aware. The hosts were very responsive to Airbnb communication. I would definitely recommend this rental.

The lake is clear and water is tested annually. Small swimming area in front of cottage. Boat dock with fishing boat, electric trolling motor and battery available for guests use at no extra charge. There are some life jackets available but suggest bring your own for children.
There approximately 70 cottages on the lake. The cottage is approximately 20 miles from either Ludington or Manistee. Both towns are located on beautiful Lake Michigan, with sandy beaches. Both towns have grocery stores and other amenities. There is convenience store about 5 miles away, with deli meats and made to order pizza. The Big Sauble river and Manistee National Forest are less than ten minutes from the cottage. There is list of restaurants, stores etc at cottage. Bookings are Saturday to Saturday from Memorial Dat through Labor Day. There are a few shorter stays during summer. Please see calendar.

The neighborhood is very quiet during the week, somewhat busier on weekends, especially holiday weekends! Nearby homes are owned mainly by weekenders and are seldom occupied during the week. I live in a quiet, caring community where you can expect peace & quiet!!
  • The boat house is a great place to stay. You're right on the lake listening to relaxing waves under your feet. On the water it is crystal clear to the bottom. A nice little picnic area outside with a fire pit. And inside is a comfy bed, hot shower and nice little kitchenette. I recommend to any one looking for a low key lake getaway in Michigan.

  • Such a cute little boat house with great views of the lake. Perfect for a weekend getaway.

  • What a great cozy place to get away near the Manistee! We had a great time and would stay again. Easy check in process

    Madison2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • This charming little boathouse was a bit rustic but had a beautiful view of the lake. A private pier allowed us to share a glass of wine at the end of the day and enjoy the morning sunrise over coffee. Very quiet neighborhood. There was a charming supper club/bar within walking distance.

    Anne2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful cottage on top of a boathouse overlooking the water. It was spectacular. The cottage was very clean and we had everything we needed for our stay. You have your own private beach and fire pit which makes it nice. I would definitely return. The lake was a lot of fun. Thank you rose we had a great time!

    Li2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time at the lake! Perfect lake! Nice paddle boat to go to loon island sand bar. Great dock for tanning! Nice fire pit! No mosquitos and we were told by other boaters they had 12 inches of rain the weekend prior! Perfect for a couples get away.

    Kasandra2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • I knew from other reviews that it would be a cozy quiet place. So better than expected was a hard one. The scenic setting with great views of the lake, especially the colorful sunrise was the best. The last day the early morning rain gave us a mesmerizing, soothing start to the day. Nothing fancy but everything we needed. A great change of scenery. Rose had a bottle of champagne for us to help celebrate our 46th anniversary. She had great advice to a great place to eat. For our 1st Airbnb experience, Rose made it a great memory. Thank you Rose!! FYI-I have physical limitations, you are parked close to a easy entry. Outside seating is easy access. To go down to fire pit, dock & lake you have to go down about 10 step. They were sturdy & doable for me with xtra thought & focus.

    Tony &Amp; Dee2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic Glamping experience! Everything you can think of is provided including a lovely bottle of wine. The Private fire pit and dock made it feel like we had a private cabin on the lake.

  • Vera Ellen is a radiant hostess. She left the light on for us when we pulled in late. She stocked the house with the most thoughtful amenities. The cabin is clean, quiet, and cozy. We cooked amazing meals, took luxurious hot showers, slept well in a comfy bed, paddled around the lake, grilled out, made a fire under the stars, fished in the lake and caught huge salmon at Tippy Dam an easy 30 minute drive away. If you have the chance to rent The Wren you will not be disappointed! The amenities, hospitality, and location you get for the price can’t be beat. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.

    Jess2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Vera and Terry were exceptional hosts! We stayed in the Wren and it was a beautiful little cabin. It had everything we needed and Vera even brought some toys in for our 2 1/2 year old daughter that were waiting for us upon arrival. The lake is absolutely beautiful and the island is so much fun to explore. We took the paddle boats out several times and had loads of fun. We will definitely be booking another stay at Harper Lake!!

    Tera2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • All you need to take is your clothes & food. Everything else is provided. The cabins are beautiful and completely stocked. Vera Ellen has a special way of decorating and knows all the little special touches to make the cabins feel like home. Vera Ellen and Terry have a special gift of making people welcome at the cabins. You will enjoy your stay guaranteed!

    Paula2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Wren was small, but it was clean and had everything we needed in it. The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked, and the location was nice. The lake was nice and there was a general store nearby for everything that we forgot. The hosts told us about different options for fun on or near Harper Lake and they were very friendly.

    Lydia2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptionally great place to stay with amazing hosts. Can't say enough about the hospitality. The kids really enjoyed the paddle boats and kayaks. I would love to go back sometime.

    Larry2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our family LOVED our stay at Vera Ellen's! The Wren sits next to another cottage and shares the waterfront with the other guests. We shared the boats which included 4 kayaks, a couple canoes, flat boats and 2 paddle boats. Our children loved using the paddle boats and enjoyed exploring the island on the lake. Vera Ellen and Terry were very welcoming and Terry helped us get a fire started the first night. We had a great time!

The Robin cottage is a traditional summer housekeeping cottage on the waterfront of Hamlin Lake. It's rented by the week, Saturday to Saturday. We are part of the historic Vacation Lane Cooperative. You'll enjoy swimming, fishing, lawn games, BBQing, campfires, lounging outdoors, and socializing with other guests. Bring your kayak, or canoe to launch at our small beach. Jet skis and boats. can be kept on their trailer on our property & launched at the South Bayou, just across the street.
Vacation Lane is a unique -step-back-in-time "resort" community of cottages. There is a large area of shared, common property where your kids can run free on the grounds, pitch horseshoes & corn hole, play volleyball, play on the small playground, and swim at the small beach area (with your supervision,) or enjoy the view of the lake from the screened-in porch. The Robin cottage is the other half of a duplex cottage: the Robin and Cardinal unit. My husband and I use the Cardinal side in the summer, and we love it! Our cottage was originally built in the 1930s. It is the oldest cabin on Vacation Lane, and the closest one to the lake. It's a great place for families and friends to gather, with a swim area, campfire pit, docks, play areas, picnic tables, and lots of places to just sit and relax. There is a common building, called, The Gathering Place, for rainy days with a ping-pong table and games. The Co-op rules state that after 10 PM, it is quiet time, so this is not a party place, but we welcome your daytime guests. The cottage is rented by the week only, June through August, for $850 per week, payment is required at the time of booking. It can be rented in May and September for $100 per night, with a 3-night minimum, or weekly for $700. Other cottages on the Vacation Lane property may be available to rent during the summer at the same time to accommodate larger groups requiring more lodging. Let us know if you'd like to inquire about these. We can help to coordinate this. Renters are not allowed to bring pets, sorry. Guests bring their own bed linens and towels.
Vacation Lane is friendly community of summer cottages. There are so many things to do in the summer in the area! Ludington State Park is right down the street, or across Hamlin Lake, and it has a beautiful beach and along the pristine shoreline of Lake Michigan, a light house, sand dunes, hiking trails, fishing, and kayaking, paddle board & canoe rentals. It's worth it to buy the season pass for $16, which is honored at all Michigan State Parks all year. Ludington is a beach-resort town with lots of shops, art, restaurants, and music. The best ice cream is found at The (famous) House of Flavors on Ludington Ave. If you want soft serve ice cream, the Dairy Creme, just down the street is a nice bike-ride destination. The Stix Bar across from the Dairy Creme is not the dive that it looks like from the outside. It's bright and cheery inside, it has a friendly atmosphere, the beer is cold, and the pizza is crunchy and tasty! Our favorite breakfast and lunch place is Chef John's Bakery & Cafe on W Filer St. All dishes are fresh and wholesome! The most authentic Italian pizza is at Luciano's right downtown. If you prefer a more Americanized style with a thick crust and generous toppings, the Chuck Wagon on Lakeshore Drive is the place to go. A really nice dinner with a view of the Ludington Marina can be had at P.M. Steamers on W Loomis Street. Almost every summer weekend there is an event in the city park, or on the city beach. You'll love the walk out to the light house on the 1/2-mile long pier at Stearn's Park! Be sure to catch sight of the huge car ferry steamer, the S.S. Badger as it arrives or departs the Port of Ludington, and watch a Lake Michigan sunset on one of the beaches. It's a real treat. The Maritime Museum on South Lakeshore Drive is a great rainy day activity. There is also the Children's Museum on Ludington Avenue just for the kids. The Historic White Pine Village in nearby Pere Marquette township is a longer fun outing. The reconstructed village gives you a good feel for the history, economy, and daily life of the area in the 1800s. You can charter a fishing boat on Lake Michigan, or rent a boat and jet skis at Hamlin Lake 2 doors up from us at the Waterside Resort and Boat Rental. Literature about the activities in the area will be in the cottage for you to peruse. In the off-season, it is very quiet and cool, so if you prefer a slower paced week, without crowds, choose May or September, for a reduced rate of $775 per week. The cottage is not winterized, but it is heated and supplied with blankets. For groceries and other supplies there are various cool stores and markets, near the downtown on Ludington Avenue. For bigger chain stores, including Walmart, Meijer, Lowes, and Aldi continue south, on Ludington Avenue, past downtown, on Route 10.

I live in a 100-year-old bungalow. It's a wonderfully charming home that I love dearly and have chosen to share with you via Airbnb. Please keep in mind guest rooms are on the second floor. There is ONE shared bathroom on the main floor. It is not architecturally feasible to create another bathroom in the guest area. The bathroom is 100% sparkling clean 100% of the time. As is the common use kitchen except while in the act of cooking. Newly added indoor parking for your vehicle.
This 1920 Bungalow welcomes everyone. Friends, family, other guests have said they feel "safe" and loved in this home. As did I and this is the prime reason I purchased this home just a few years ago. I love entertaining and giving people that much-needed sense of calm in this busy time we all live in. My yard area has retro seating, a large deck with gas BBQ, and is always a work in progress. Gardening a new adventure. A few duds, but many happy comebacks.
Maxwelltown is a century old working-class neighborhood. On a clear day, you can see a freighter float by from my east-facing living room window. Manistee Lake is a highway of delivery to various corporations. Historic Painted Lady Saloon is just two short blocks to the west. Famed for its broasted chicken. Next door is Two Slices. Fresh daily made bread, sandwiches, soups, cookies & treats. If you have done any research on this vacation getaway you know there are several options for food, boutique breweries, ethnic choices or a Dairy Queen hot dog.
  • Beverly is a wonderful host who will make you feel at home! It was a cozy space and we were lucky to find someone who knew the area so well.

  • Bev is truly an excellent host - extremely hospitable and kind - and her quirky, artistic home is a great place to spend some time. It’s characterful and cosy, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay while in Manistee on a fishing trip. Great food recommendations from Bev as well. Absolutely would recommend.

  • Beverly's house is lovely with fun touches everywhere. It felt very homey and cozy. She has thought of everything a travelerer would need and it was appreciated. My little dog loved her too. I was able to sleep without earplugs even, which never happens when I travel.

    Diane2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Bev's place. The place was clean, artistically decorated and cozy. We had come to see fall colors around Manistee and she shortlisted few trails and gave good recommendation. We definitely would love to stay again and listen to goofy stories!!

Lake County is a great getaway for all!
  • It was such a cute little cabin to stay. We hiked on the snowmobile trails around the property and had the laziest of times by the fire.

    Tanmoy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was great. It was well maintained, clean, private, cozy, and the list could go on. The property is beautiful and Ashley and Lawrence were very friendly and helpful.

    Kyle2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley's cabin was the perfect winter weekend getaway. We were able to spend the majority of our time inside and watching the large selection of DVDs provided, with a short break to do a snowy hike. The rooms were a touch chilly but nothing a couple extra blankets couldn't fix. Our favorite part was the fireplace! The kitchen was also perfect as we cooked all our meals there the whole weekend. Ashley was super responsive and accommodating when we asked to borrow a cast iron pan. Lawrence was also super helpful when our car got stuck in the snow just before arriving to the cabin. Very thoughtful people and such a quaint space. We plan to come back sometime in the summer months!

    Susan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay here and we had a great trip. Cozy cabin and great hosts!

    Audrie2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley's cabin is quiet, secluded, and includes all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay in the Manistee forest. Close to the river and nearby towns for supplies, you couldn't ask for much more. I especially liked that it was set back from the main house, making it feel like our own little cabin in the woods.

    Jack2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful woods, cute and clean little cabin. We had a great stay.

    Sara2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy quaint cabin, stocked with everything you need. Nestled in the forest with walking paths and nature at your doorstep. It's a perfect getaway.

    Lauren2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Homely, quiet, secluded log cabin - but only a short drive from local towns with grocery stores, restaurants etc. We used the well equipped kitchen to cook all our meals so really had no reason to leave! Check-in was a breeze and the hosts were friendly and helpful when needed but still gave us a lot of space. We loved waking up to the sunlight pouring through the windows and the sound of birds. It was a beautiful peaceful retreat and we’d love to come back!

  • Great location, clean, and perfect for visiting the area to go skiing!

    Amy2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place was the absolute cutest + coziest place we could’ve chose for our NYE ski getaway! It was clean, provided a mini-fridge, microwave, sink, dishes/silverware/glasses, and so much more than we had planned! Check-in was quick and easy—even though we didn’t check in until 10pm—and there was a binder of information + local places to visit if we were interested! We were incredibly pleased with our stay!

    Kayla2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy space with perfect access to the North Country Trail and the Big M! Udell trail head and Sawdust Hole access points are super close and gorgeous hiking spots. Try the Oak Grove tavern for excellent smokehouse meats at a great price!

  • Exactly what it shows, nothing strange or out of the ordinary. Although the heater is in the hall and can be somewhat loud. Overall, if you can look past the heater, the place was amazing and great. Will make sure to come back here soon

  • Love coming here! This is our second time!!

    Kayla2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Black Bear Inn is a delight! It is charming, small, log and knotty pine lodge set among the trees of the Manistee National Forest. It is cute, clean, and peaceful (road noise was not at all an issue for us, as it was winter during our stay, so no open windows). We loved the Bear Den unit we stayed in, which was tastefully decorated, super clean, and had a comfy sofa and overstuffed recliner, good beds, and an ample kitchenette and living/dining space. It is just a 20-minute drive to Caberfae Peaks and about 30 minutes to Crystal Mountain, so it's an excellent option for skiers, especially those who would like to get a good night's rest after a vigorous day on the slopes, away from the the constant clomp of ski boots and and raucous activity of kids. There's no hot tub to soak in after a day of skiing, but there is plenty of hot water in the shower and a quiet, comfy bed to fall into afterward!

    Nancy2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our room was so warm and cozy - decorated for Christmas even - I almost wanted to cancel our plans and just stay in the “cabin”!

    Gail2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying at The Black Bear Inn! We loved how everything was super clean. The living room/kitchen was decorated beautifully in a holiday theme. It was really a surprise for my daughter that there was a mini Christmas tree! She actually sat on the rug in front of it to write out her Christmas list to Santa. Everything is laid out really well. We were really glad that it felt really homey. We only had one snag where the electronic keypad was not working when we arrived. Alicia was over right away to fix it, just needed new batteries, and we didn't have any further issues during our stay. We will definitely be back in the future. If not to stay in this unit one of Alicia's others for sure!

    Mercedes2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Best Airbnb we’ve stayed at! Loved the Christmas decorations. The place was so clean and just so cozy! Would stay there again!

  • The power was out when we came to check in at three, something that had never happened before for our host Andra. She was quick to offer alternatives, including finding us another place to stay or a full refund. Fortunately the power came back on by the time we were ready to return to the site that evening and we decided to stay. We spent a comfortable night in our clean and cozy little cabin.

    Ann2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was super comfy and perfect! The little extra treats for my dogs was a nice surprise. I was shown to the cabin and given a little tour a suggestions of where to go while I was there. The cabin is right off of US 31 and coming from the country the traffic was noticeable to me but it wasn’t disruptive (my dogs didn’t like it, but we are used to tractor traffic). I would definitely stay here again and I have recommended these cabins to my friends and family looking to stay in the Manistee area. The location was great as well.

    Hanna2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin we stayed in was lovely! The location is perfect for anyone looking for a small getaway to explore. The hospitality from Charlie and Andra was great, and we highly recommend staying here.

  • You will not he let down by this piece of paradise. Everything inside and outside are incredible. It’s a must do!!

    Connie2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was so cute and the sunset were lovely over the lake. We took out the kayaks, peddle boats and canoes. The lake is not great for swimming in because of the murky bottom but we floated a little and that was great. Take bug spray, depending on the time of year. The hosts set up a fire for us one night with candles and more that was beautiful. Everything was clean and the check in process was very easy. I would stay again for sure.

    Megan2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Vera’s resort is perfect if you want peace and quiet with a lake view. We could see the sunsets right outside of the cottage, and everything was clean and well-organized. We had everything we needed, guides for restaurants and great parking. I loved being out on the lake every day, kayaking and paddle-boating! Overall, it was amazing! No complaints! Can’t wait to go back!

    Jansi2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a amazing time. Vera and Terry were charming and helpful with giving us advice for area dining and local attractions. The cabin was spotless and very welcoming. The beds were so comfortable. There was watercraft that they welcomed us to use. Also a pavilion that we could have a bonfire in if we decided to. The area was beautiful and very peaceful. My family would recommend this cabin highly and we plan to keep this place on our radar for future trips. 💚

    Michelle2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time The cottage was everything described and more. Relaxing and far away from hustle and bustle which I like! Enjoyed talking with Vera Ellen and Terry! Thanks for everything.

  • We had a wonderful time during our stay! The cottage was exactly as described, no surprises or disappointments. We enjoyed meeting new people in the cottage next to us as well as Vera and Terry. Not only did our kids love the water, they enjoyed making new friends with the other vacationers and Vera’s own grandchildren. We loved all gathering under the pavilion nightly for s’mores/ice cream and getting to know each other while the children ran around playing tag. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a calm, peaceful and relaxing trip with unbeatable sun rises/ sets and a crystal clear, warm lake. We will definitely be back if our travel plans take us to this area again.

  • Lovely spot with great views. We loved exploring the downtown and highly recommend Cafe 1907 for breakfast and TJs for dinner.

  • We had a great stay! The pictures and description are an accurate representation of the condo. It was very clean, and had nice furnishings and bed linens. We loved the beautiful view of the channel--the walkway leads right to the beach! Great location--a short drive to Orchard Beach State Park, Lake Bluff Bird Sanctuary, and downtown restaurants and shopping (some dog friendly!). We also had spectacular fall color drive along M-22 to dine at Arcadia Bluffs. We would definitely stay here again!
