The 2 bedroom unit has stunning sea views from the lounge/mezzanine, kitchen area, garden and rooftop. The private apartment is situated in a quiet residential up-market area and is adjacent to a private house. There is one uncovered parking bay allocated to the apartment on the premises The common usage area is the drive way. There is one flight of stairs to access the unit. Inside the unit there are stairs to the second bedroom and lounge/mezzanine as seen in the photographs. There are stairs to access the roof top from which you have 360 degree views. The garden is private and an exclusive use area for the guests.
The apartment is in an upmarket residential area, 30 meters from the beach and 2.5 kilometers from Umhlanga Village. There's a beach directly in front, which is unsupervised yet nevertheless nice for taking a walk—or drive to a nearby swimming beach.

  • Wonderful place, cosy, comfortable, well equipped. Beautifully decorated, stylish, great layout with big windows and gallery looking out to the ocean. Hosts were friendly, helpful and easy to reach, we had an absolutely delightful stay. There is a beach right in front, great for a stroll as the waves were too big for swimming. But there is a swimming beach up north with shops, restaurants and other local amenities, just a short drive away.

We are a one minute walk away from the local beaches and only a 20-minute drive to downtown. We have garage secure parking.
    This private and charming cottage is perfect for your affordable vacation. It is a one bedroom self-catering house with stunning seaviews from its own patio. The owners live in the next door in the attached house with their dogs. Set up like a beach cottage, we are located on the Bluff, a suburb in Durban, and steps away from local beach path. This home includes an open plan lounge which includes a queen-size bed, an en-suite bathroom and a separated fully furnished kitchen (with refrigerator and microwave). The cottage leads on to its own private patio and garden with a wonderful 180 degree sea view. Guests are welcome to use the shared swimming pool and shared BBQ area which in Durban can be easily enjoyed right until winter. Note that the place is attached to a main house, but separated by the white picket fence for your own privacy. Furthermore, those who are not comfortable with stairs, there are 15 steps downstairs from the garage/main road which you must take to reach the cottage. Besides what is listed above, we have off-road parking in a garage for a sedan-sized vehicle. There is access to free wi-fi. There is a convenience store across the road (including laundry facilities), and a mini-grocery store which is less than a two minute drive. The property is also serviced by both municipal and private bus routes. Guests are welcome to enjoy as much privacy as they would like. We also live next door in our own house and are available should you need assistance during your stay or need further local advice of where to visit and go. It is only 2 minute drive to the local beach and only 20 minute drive from downtown. Take a break from a busy city life. The Bluff has its own unique history and is the gem in Durban. It has some of the finest beaches in the area and can feel more like some tropical island spots than urban centres. The place overlooks the Indian Ocean and there is quick access to one of Durban's best kept secrets. There are rockpools for snorkelling with tropical fish, world class surfing and unspoilt beaches for summer walks. This quiet Bluff neighbourhood is peaceful and the spacious area takes away the rush of the busy city life. We are only 15 minutes away from downtown and from the main university campus. This cottage is part of the Bluff's fishing heritage, once home to Norwegian whalers and remains near the old whaling station, now derelict but still a fascinating place to visit. A five minute drive can also take you to the Green Dolphin restaurant or Heidi's Cafe at Anstey's Beach as well as the local shopping mall and gym. The property is serviced by municipal and private bus routes. There is off-road parking behind its own electric gate, suitable for a small vehicle only. Otherwise parking can be found on the verge outside the property. We have two dalmatians that are lovable. They stay next to the cottage entrance, and they are happy to keep a nightly vigil for you. They also live on the property and their area is kept clean and tidy.

  • Sean and Kathleen's property is great. It is a long way from the centre of Durban, so if you don't have a car, this could be an issue. However, the location on the top of Bluff is magnificent, with access to great beaches! The cottage is bright and sunny, and is set up wonderfully well for a traveller. The wifi is strong, and there is satellite TV. The kitchen is VERY good - well equipped and there is a local SPAR a 20 minute walk, 2 minute drive away. I did not meet Kathleen during my stay, but Sean was an extremely friendly host, and I would not hesitate in recommending their cottage.

  • On confirmation of booking, Jason sent me just about everything I needed to know, which made finding the apartment, check-in and check-out a pleasantly seamless exercise. The apartment is spacious, beautifully furnished and incredibly comfortable. There are countless amenities within walking distance from the building, but you'll probably struggle to do anything that requires you to be away from that stunning balcony, with its wonderful panorama of the harbour and if all of this doesn't keep you properly entertained, there's a lot to watch on a state-of-the-art smart television.

ICC is about 10 minutes away. 30 minutes drive to the most beautiful coastline, both North and South. You get a real sense of Durban in my Neighborhood.

    Welcome to leafy Glenwood, one of Durban's older suburbs. The cottage is centrally located, 20 min from the airport, 10 min from the beaches, 5 min from the Davenport Entertainment Strip. We are also located across the road from the tranquil Pigeon Valley Nature Reserve. The cottage sleeps 3 people and is Ideal for singles, couples, a small family or friends travelling together. Unfortunately if you arrive with a 4th guest, I will have to turn them away. Visitors numbers are also limited .
    Glenwood has a wide variety of restaurants and eclectic shops. The University of Kwa Zulu Natal (UKZN) main gate is a 5 min walk away and DUT (Technicon) a 5 min drive. We are also within walking distance of two excellent hospitals. (St Augustines & Entabeni Hospital.) Albert Luthuli Hospital and King Edward Hospital are a 10min drive away, respectively. "Pigeon Valley" nature reserve, is an unusual example of an urban reserve with very high levels of biodiversity. It was established to provide protection for the Natal Elm (Celtis mildbraedii) and other forest giants of the coastal climax forest. Besides abundant bird life, you will also be able to spot red & blue duiker, banded mongoose and vervet monkeys. NB: The local troop of Vervet Monkeys regularly visit our property. They are cheeky but not dangerous.
    Glenwood is a neighborhood favored by the "arty" crowd. Writers, artists, academics, musos are aplenty and you are bound to bump into a few at our local coffee shops , bars etc. The area is also beautifully lush, and is often referred to as "The Wood" by residents. You would be forgiven for thinking you were staying in a outer suburb, not just a few minutes form the cities bustling center and golden beaches.

    Our home is close to the beachfront, Florida Rd, Moses Mabhida and Sharks stadia, theatres, parks, cinemas and supermarkets (the SPAR around the corner has a good deli with cooked and cold foods). The room you will use is at the back of the house and has it's own entrance, so you can come and go as you please. You have access to lock-up parking. We have wi-fi, air con and a swimming pool. Please note the swimming pool does not have a pool net or fence around it.
    Your room is spacious and light, with an air con unit. There is a small fridge, a kettle, cups, tea, coffee and rusks - on the house! You'll be comfortable on the king-size bed. Come morning, we can whip up a cool continental (fruit, yogurt, muesli) breakfast for you for R50.00 A workstation and our wi-fi will enable you to continue your day online effortlessly. Fresh towels, soap and shampoo come with the room. You may use our washing machine and clothes line! However, if you need your laundry done for you, we can do so at an additional cost. Although your room has only the one double bed, if you have children we can put a mattress down on the floor.
    Morningside is an old suburb of Durban with beautiful old houses and trees. We are very close to Florida Rd which is home to a bewildering array of funky coffee shops, artisanal anything, restaurants and night clubs. We are also close to Durban's beautiful Botanic Gardens and Mitchell's Park with its delightful zoo. Walking round this area during the day is safe and we feel very safe here at home as we have private security and cameras. The beach is a few km's away, as is the CBD and the International Convention Centre.

You have use of the entire cottage, which is separate from the main house. Cosy Cottage has its own entrance, and consists of a kitchen, bathroom (with shower), and a main room (bedroom), ample cupboard space & small work area. There is a private patio to enjoy a coffee/wine. Shared parking for 1 vehicle in a carport. We do have two very friendly Scotties and a cat.
    Cosy Cottage is well equipped with fresh bedding, fluffy towels and all the kitchen equipment you'll need to whip up a delicious meal. The kitchen has a fridge, counter top stove and oven, kettle, toaster, cutlery and crockery as well as all the items you'll need to cook - pots, pans, utensils etc. If you aren't in the mood for cooking, there are many restaurants in nearby Florida Road, or places that deliver food to your door. You'll have access to Netflix during your stay, as well as free wifi. You do share the parking in a carport with the owner, and the parking is best suited for normal sized vehicles due to the height and length of the carport. There is unfortunately no room for SUV's, or trailers. Cars may need to be moved from time to time, but we've never had a problem doing so with our guests. *!This doesn't apply on weekends!* There is a undercover patio with table and chairs looking out onto the garden, for you to sit and sip your morning coffee as you listen to the birds, or to enjoy a sundowner after a long day. The cottage has an iron and ironing board for you to use during your stay, and there are laundromats in the area if you need to get some washing done. Our dogs are restricted behind a low fence and won't interact with guests, but of course cats do wander so we can't guarantee she won't come to say hello! Our central location is a mix of business and residential and means you are only minutes away from shopping centers, golden beaches, sporting stadiums, main attractions and fabulous restaurants.
    Our neighourhood is mostly residential with a few businesses dotted through it. Kings Park Stadium for the local and international rugby games is close by, as is Moses Mabhida stadium. Windermere is very central, with beaches, malls, restaurants, the beach and local attractions all within reaching distance. Windermere Centre is the closest shopping mall and has a Checkers, Woolworths Food, Clicks, Mr Price, Wimpy, Restaurants, a liquor store, hardware store, clothing stores, hairdresser, pharmacy, pet store, and even a Sorbet for a manicure or massage.

    Simply the best neighbourhood of central Durban. Family and lifestyle friendly with sea views. Bustling Florida Road with all its amazing restaurants and popular family parks within 1km. The safest, most peaceful Suburb close to Durban CBD. At night it feels like you are in a town setting because there is no main road close by. Also location is in one-way quite street. . Many a local restaurant within 5min walking distance. We recommend Audacia Manor hotel's 5 star restaurant for amazing meals and view's over the city- 3min easy walking distance around the corner. Lots of Art Deco Architecture in the surrounding area to explore by foot.

  • I had loadshedding in my area and then the lights just never came on because of a blown transformer, needed to get some work done on my laptop, so found John and Audreys place, that was central and priced just right. Tried my luck booking it around half 10/11 pm and was surprised when I got a message accepting the check in. Awesome fast responses, John and Audrey are so kind, friendly and welcoming. Even though I was going there so late in the evening they were more than accommodating. They welcome you, show you around as quick as possible and then let you be. The place is so clean and neat and comfy with good energies. Central to everything I had a really comfortable stay and the WiFi was fast lol. I’d stay there again

We are also close to research facilities such as the Killie Campbell Museum, Match, UKZN. There is secure parking in the garden and a metered taxi rank within walking distance. Ideal place for longer stays especially for researchers. We offer special rates for longer stays on application.
    It is a safe friendly neighborhood with most amenities in walkable distance. Lots of restaurants and cafes and shops. The area is most suitable for researchers as we are near the universities and also the medical centers where many of our guests do research and internships.

The house is close to the center but far enough to have a peaceful and calm stay. The guest house was fully equipped with everything we need.     A new kitchenette (with everything you could wish for)! A flat-screen TV connected to DSTV (full bouquet), and wifi available. The bedroom has a King sized bed which could be separated upon prior request. Please note that this has to be requested in advance of your arrival. The bathroom is within the bedroom - an open plan design (which may be awkward if you are sharing with a co-worker or the like). However the bedroom door can be closed. There is also a sleeper couch in the lounge should that be preferable. There may be an additional charge for extra linen should you need this extra facility.
    Glenwood is a special neighbourhood with a cafe culture and green spaces. There are walks into Pigeon Valley where duiker, monkeys and many birds of prey can be found (completely wild). Parc, the local cafe and coffee spot is less than a 10 minute walk away. It serves great coffee, breakfasts and lunches. The Glenwood bakery is also a must!

  • This lovely self contained apartment provides a great base for a visit to Durban. Brodie's family were extremely welcoming and made me feel at home! The apartment is well equipped, and guests have use of a lovely pool area. The property is within walking distance of a supermarket, and a few take away, and within easy driving distance of whatever you may need. I would definitely use this property again if I were visiting Durban again as a single visitor or couple.

    Room with seperate entrance, patio and en suite. Bar fridge, microwave, kettle & toaster. Welcome to leafy Glenwood, one of Durban's older suburbs. The room attached to the main house, is centrally located, 20 min from the airport, 10 min from the beaches, 5 min from the Davenport Entertainment Strip. We are also located across the road from the tranquil Pigeon Valley Nature Reserve. The room sleeps 2 people in a double bed. NB: We have 2 friendly dogs (one small & one medium) and 2 cats.
    Glenwood has a wide variety of restaurants and eclectic shops. The University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN) main gate is a 5 min walk away and DUT (Technicon) a 5 min drive. We are also within walking distance of two excellent hospitals. (St Augustines & Entabeni Hospital.) Albert Luthuli Hospital and King Edward Hospital are a 10min drive away. "Pigeon Valley" nature reserve, is an unusual example of an urban reserve with very high levels of biodiversity. It was established to provide protection for the Natal Elm (Celtis mildbraedii) and other forest giants of the coastal climax forest. Besides abundant bird life, you will also be able to spot red & blue duiker, banded mongoose and vervet monkeys. There is secure parking for a car and access to the pool. Please note, the pool does NOT have a fence.
    Glenwood is a neighborhood favored by the "arty" crowd. Writers, artists, academics, musos are aplenty, and you are bound to bump into a few at our local coffee shops, bars etc. The area is also beautifully lush and is often referred to as "The Wood" by residents. You would be forgiven for thinking you were staying in an outer suburb, not just a few minutes form the cities bustling center and golden beaches.
