Emily has created such a beautiful space to relax and unwind in. Every detail is carefully thought of and perfectly executed. Cannot recommend this cozy little escape enough!

Staying at Alkira was exactly what we needed to reconnect. Emily thought of every little detail to the smartly matched decor to breakfast in the morning. I would also highly recommend ordering a food hamper as well since it just added to the charm of the yurt. What can I say? Emily’s yurt was wonderful! The property is picturesque and the yurt itself was a dream. Every aspect of it was beautiful - the little bits and pieces inside made it feel cozy and comfortable. The bathroom was lovely and we didn’t mind having to walk down a few stairs to get to it! We cooked dinner at night with the little bbq provided and had a lovely fire in the fire pit! We were greeted by a little horsey, a beautiful dog and a few geese when we arrived and they were all friendly and adorable! We loved staying here and would love to again, thank you Emily for creating such a special experience :)

I booked Emily's place for my parents after having a wonderful stay there myself last year. Here is their review: Our children surprised us with a night at Alkira to relax after our son’s wedding. We could not have been in a better location. The yurt is unique, cute and very comfortable. The outside kitchen facilities enabled us to prepare a delicious bbq dinner and breakfast. The views are beautiful and facilities excellent. Well done Emily on providing such a perfect escape!

Delightful place in the middle of a beautiful and very green area. The birds came to visit at the bird feeder every morning. Shellie was a lovely host, and provided a basket of fresh and tasty breakfast materials on the first day. With a comfortable bed, fun spa, warm heater, double-shower, handy little kitchen, it had everything we needed for a marvellous holiday.

Chudleigh Park is a beautiful haven that really allows your brain to reset. Shellie is a thoughtful and friendly host but will give you your privacy. The views are lovely and location is very close to a popular hiking trail and village.

Shellie was an amazing host! The room is lovely with plenty of space for a romantic couples getaway. The breakfast basket was a lovely touch with some really amazing goodies! Definitely worth staying here!

The location is beautiful and we were provided with so much great food for our stay. The local birds kept us company which was very cool.

Such a lovely location and gorgeous cottages! Overlooking secluded woods you share the beautiful grounds with kookaburras, cockatoos and birds of many colours. Just 2 mins walk to the gorgeous village of Sassafras, yet you feel a million miles from civilisation. This was our second stay and we will be back!

My wife and I had an amazing time away here. The breakfast hamper was full of delicious food and fresh juice and milk. Everything in the hamper had been locally sourced. We enjoyed feeding the rosella’s and parrots by our back door. The property is super simple to find and is just off the main drag. If we were back in the area we would come back before looking elsewhere.

This is an excellent getaway, and feels like a forest retreat. I stayed here with my mum and sister and it was perfect for us. Just be prepared for the stairs up to the house and a steep driveway. There is plenty of space for relaxation inside and out!

We loved staying at Troys's it was such a beautiful place, in a gorgeous setting. It had music, tv, comfy sofa and beds and an awesome coffee machine and the internet was fast. We loved it and will be back thanks so much!!!

The second we walked through the front door of Troy’s place we felt really comfortable. This place has a really nice vibe and is full of character. The space is uniquely decorated and the plants throughout add that little extra touch. The backyard and patio area are the perfect space to fire up the BBQ and enjoy the afternoon. We loved our short stay here and would definitely stay again.

Amazing home stay surrounded by nature. The garden is breathtaking, with native plants and introduced species harmoniously arranged. Within the house is everything needed for a pleasant, invigorating experience. Very stylish decor. There are dozens of amenities installed, all thoughtfully included. Clean and cosy, I highly recommend visiting. Be aware the land is steep, with many steps, though this actually added to it's uniqueness. Five stars.

Host response fast, stay suitable for those who like to surround with a lot of trees and plants, feel comfortable and warm in the morning when sunshine come in but if got big luggage bag need to carry up few steps of staircase, others than this, everything’s GOOD .

Small place, nice and clean with a wonderfully warm bed! Nice and simple and perfect for a wedding getaway in the area. It’s a bit hard to find at first (and to work out where to park) but otherwise easy once you’ve found somewhere. Close to sherbrooke falls which is really nice. Brian’s place was nice and cozy surrounded by the beautiful forest in Tecoma. I had a very comfortable stay and I had everything I needed. Check in was easy and Brian has great communication.

We had a lovely time in this quiet, peaceful cottage with gorgeous view. The space is modern and spacious and feels secluded while being not too far away from cafes, restaurants and cinema. Amazing value for money. We felt very welcome and especially loved being greeted by the friendly dogs when we arrived!

Couldn’t have asked for a better air bnb stay! The decor, the comfort, the communication was all excellent and Suzanne and Ron are genuinely kind and warm people. So many thoughtful little touches that made the air bnb experience so amazing such as readily available charging cords near the couch/beds, electric blankets for all beds, homemade goodies on arrival. Probably one of my favourite air bnbs I have stayed in.

What a wonderful house! Suzanne and Ron went above and beyond and so impressed with their service, the house itself was spotless, comfy and interesting! The parrots were a special treat and the garden was so lovely. We loved Olinda and thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home.

I stayed here with my bridesmaids the night before my wedding and got ready at the property and it was perfect. The house is so incredibly zen, surrounded by stunning greenery and wildlife. It’s also nice and cozy at night and light filled during the day, perfect for hair and make up. It was a perfect stay.

Our stay at Suzanne and Ron’s was perfect! We were a group of 3 couple staying for a wedding in the region. We each had our own space and the communal areas were comfortable. They took the time to make us feel welcome and little touches were appreciated. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a getaway in the area and want warm and friendly hosts!

We had a wonderful stay here! Suzanne and Ron were amazing, they had fresh bread baking for us when we arrived, some vegetarian treats in the fridge, and happily greeted us and gave us a walkthrough of the property. The kitchen and living area are huge with great big windows looking out in to the forest. The only downside would be the skylight in the main bedroom, didn't seem to be a way to close it so it was very bright in the morning. Suzanne and Ron were very accommodating with our needs as my nan had trouble climbing stairs, suz and ron communicated well with us before the trip with all the details we'd need to make nan comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I was in the area!

The Art House is a beautiful, relaxing studio in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges. Tucked away so it feels very private. The space is really stylish and the bathroom in particular is a dream. Lush green views from every window add to the feeling of peace and seclusion...we'll be back!

We loved staying at the Art house Sassafras. We had a long journey to recover from and the hosts were super helpful and responsive to ensure we had a smooth arrival and comfortable stay. The extra special touches, nice tea options, coffee (2 types of coffee machines), proper milk, butter and condiments made us feel right at home. My partner & I are always finding unique places to stay for our anniversary weekend, Libby’s place was perfect! We felt at home & was beyond relaxed in the super comfortable bed & amazing view. Libby was so easy to communicate with & on the day of our check in she showed us through the room, gave us great tips about different places & in general had a great chat. The room was super clean, so was the kitchen & bathroom. All the little touches were amazing as well. Libby has created a wonderful space that you truly don’t want to leave as it’s that comfortable. Awesome spot handy to great local eateries and services. We caught the train into Melbourne for the day - $9return and the station is 5mins away. Great private space with a comfy bed and amazingly well stocked kitchen with snacks and goodys.

The view out across the city was pretty amazing and you could see lots of kangaroos on the hills. Really unique place close to the city.

We stayed at the Japanese Slipper for just one night which was a great and relaxing stay. The tub is dedinitely the highlight!

Robin’s place was lovely. Small and cosy but well designed for a stay by myself. Great location to go on bush walks and a nice view from the bedroom over looking bush land and the city in the distance. Bed was very comfortable. Had a very good night sleep.

Best thing about this beautiful cabin is the view out the window over the rainforest - STUNNING! Especially with the beautiful mist we enjoyed. All super comfortable and really amazing value for the area. Small note that the bathroom wall/door doesn't go completely to the roof, which makes it suited to singles or couples/friends who are comfortable with each other :) We'd definitely stay again!

Cosy little bungalow right in the bush, it was so lovely and comfortable. It's attached to the main house but it's still private. It's very much for couple though as it's very intermittent. Super close to Belgrave and Upwey shops. Will be staying longer next time for sure.

What a serene and beautiful spot! A real forest hideaway with semi-tame kookaburras and parrots in abundance. The little bungalow has a sink and small fridge; no cooking facilities but Robin allowed us full use of her kitchen and beautiful deck for our Christmas lunch and was super-friendly and helpful throughout. An idyllic spot; we hope to be back!

I have stayed at the Garden Bungalow multiple times (it’s almost like my second home). It’s the perfect base for exploring the Dandenong Ranges, so close to public transport & amenities. Rosie & Peter are the perfect hosts, cannot recommend highly enough. Absolutely love it!

We loved staying at Robin's place. The view is just beautiful, surrounded by trees with many bird species that come and visit the balcony. Robin is a very warm and relaxed host, we felt totally welcome. Also the place is just next to the national park, which has some nice walks. A perfect getaway.

If you have the chance to stay with Robin, do so. Not only is the house beautiful and very well located, but Robin herself is the type of warm, smart, kind-hearted people you don't come across often. The cat, Ginger, is a diva and will pose for you to take pictures of him (if he's in the mood, you know how divas are). We only stayed for one night, but the bed was one of the comfiest I'd ever slept in. The house is clean and incredibly well decorated, it's at walking distance of the Sherbrooke Falls and of the 1000 steps if you're willing to walk a bit further. All in all, a great decision.

Robin shares her lovely home that is set amongst the towering gum trees, and is clean, comfortable and welcoming. Robin will make every effort to ensure that you stay is unpressured and comfortable.

Amazing view and well designed space with ample amenities. Great location, place to take in the sunset and relax.

Nice place for someone who is seeking retreat in more quiet and residential area, close to the trail for hiking or running. David was really helpful with arranging the pick up from the airport and place came with some basic food supplies which is great if you arrive late in the day. If you are okay with walking about 25min to the train station to get to the city, and seek to be close to the nature, this is a perfect pick!

David is just the perfect host. He made us feel so welcome and he really goes the extra mile with the provisions he supplies . We were delayed returning the first day and he even took our dog for a walk. If you don’t want to stay in a stuffy hotel in the city this is the perfect location with a beautiful leafy outlook.

Beautiful house with a lovely private landing. Great decor and everything you need for a great stay. Parking is one the street but was fine for our needs. Close to a range of places to eat and lots of things to do. Well recommended.

Room is Clean Host is easy to get along with

Lovely place, great setting, and the hosting was like most airbnbs used to be - personal, gracious, sensitive to just the right amount of interaction, helpful and thoughtful. If coming by train I would make sure Darren is available to do the first shuttle from the station - it would be a serious uphill schlep with luggage and finding the way could be confusing the first time.

Darren's place was a great little find. The room at the top of the stairs was stylishly equipped with lots of thoughtful touches including some tasteful antiques. There were scenic views from the windows which let in a gentle cooling breeze. The only drawback was the tricky parking on the road but this is typical of this area and Darren provided excellent instructions. Highly recommended.

Amazing place so stylishly done. Awesome breakfast provided. A beautiful quiet and peaceful setting! 9 minute walk to Puffing Billy 11minutes to main town but it is a very steep hill. But a very Easy drive!

An absolutely beautiful little cabin surrounded by lush nature. I was blown away with how picture perfect everything was, I didn’t think it could look better in person than online but I was proven wrong. The modern bathroom and living space was beautifully minimal, allowing you to pay your full attention to the forests that surround the cabin. I greatly appreciated that both dairy and soy milk was provided, as well the nuttelex spread and the muesli being very inclusive to all die try requirements, this was very thoughtful of the host :)

Amazing connection with nature, though large picture windows. The King size bed was super comfy. Shower with rainwater & water saver head was roomy. Unfortunately I didn’t have a chance for a bath but it was spacious as well. Handy location as well.

Great stay! Lovely accomodation, high standard. They also have a lovely and very friendly dog!

Andy’s pool house is a fantastic place for a romantic or peaceful getaway for couples. We were instantly impressed upon arriving to Andy’s family home. Unfortunately we arrived late (our fault) so we missed meeting Andy, however her gorgeous dog Millie was happy to greet us. Andy had also allowed us to arrive 2hrs before usual check in time. All communication and instructions were frequent and concise. The pool is extremely generous in size (something you wouldn’t even get privately on an overseas trip), and the lights are able to be controlled from the pool house at night. The outdoor area is also lovely and there are plenty of areas to accomodate you. The pool house has a beautiful beach/ tropical vibe. The windows are wrapped around half of the room which has the views of the backyard and pool. Andy’s family house is across from the pool room, however blinds were drawn at all times and they respected our privacy when using the pool. If you are a very private person this may not be ideal for you, but we didn’t have any issues being so close. If you have an eye for detail you will notice all the styling touches from the quality linen to the plush robes. The size of the room was slightly bigger than anticipated from the photos. We also had access to Apple TV, Netflix and discovered the inbuilt surround sound system that’s fitted in the roof. Andy has gone above and beyond with the ammenities which included iPhone chargers in the bedsides, several bath & beach towels, shampoo/ condition & soap provided, assortment of herbs for cooking, branded appliances, cordless iron, hair blow dryer and there were even sanitary items which goes to show how accommodating she is. The complimentary breakfast was left for us which was a loaf of bread, margarine, yoghurt, chocolate, milk, jam, soft drink and Nespresso coffee pods. There was also porridge, spreads and various teas as an option. A huge wrap to Andy, would love to visit again on a special occasion.

What a wonderful way to escape from city life, our time in Andy’s pool house was exactly what we needed! Teaming with bird life and impeccably decorated, this place was well worth the road trip :)

Most amazing stay at Andy’s place , they have been the most welcoming and wonderful hosts ......very new and fresh accommodation and the pool is perfect, Andy’s even blessed me with her delicious home cooked meals on a regular basis. Andy’s AirBnb are what dreams are made of! Stunning property & grounds, amazing hospitality & a Pool Room to die for. We couldn’t have asked for anything more as everything and more was already there, we just had to bring our bags, relax & unwind! We made friends with Andy’s beautiful doggie Millie who was just adorable, bonus! Couldn’t recommend Andy & the Pool Room high enough, it was such a beautiful spot & it was the small touches that made this stay our favourite. Can’t wait to come again next time we are in Melbourne! I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this Air BnB stay to anyone, it has immaculate views, stunning interior and the owners make you feel at ease and at home with their kindness. They're always up for a chat when they see you around and allow you to treat the place as if it is your own! The landlord was a Thai couple, very kind and enthusiastic. Before we arrived at their home, we sent a message asking where we were and if we needed help. When we arrived at their home, they saw us in the door and held their hands. Take some things, come here to help immediately, and tell us if you need anything, you can tell them, great landlord, will go again next time!

Outstanding service and amenities. Mrs Kornthip & the gentleman who met me at the door were most welcoming & attentive- but when the time came for me to do my work, they left me in peace and quiet. I cannot speak highly enough about the premises & proprietors. Excellent and peaceful stay.

Staying in Shellie's cottage was delightful for a weekend getaway from Melbourne. The cabin is tucked away in the rainforest, a very peaceful and serene atmosphere. The cabin itself is tasteful and cozy, with roaring electric fireplace and cozy robes. Would definitely stay again!

This place was outstanding! Lovely extra touches and a beautiful setting. Getting to chat away to the local parrots on the balcony and the double spa was perfect after hiking. Would highly recommend and go back in a heartbeat!

Shellie and John are amazing hosts who went above and beyond to make this weekend a memorable one. The cabin was immaculate and the breakfast basket along with the specially arranged platter was enough to feed a small army. Shellie went out of her way to ensure our special requests were met. We spent our first night in Australia here and it was amazing. The property was beautiful and the room was clean and equipped with everything we needed and more. Shellie greeted us with a well stocked basket of food, drinks and treats which was a very thoughtful touch. We loved watching the colorful birds and taking morning walks through the forest. Perfect for anyone that wants to escape the busy city. We'd love to stay here again and will recommend it to family and friends

Shellie's a wonderful host, very thoughtful and hospitable. Our room has very cosy and warm, with fresh local produce to keep us well fed and happy. Directions and parking was easy and we even had birds posing for us in the mornings. Will definitely be back again!

Booked the cottage for my inlaws who adored the place! Breakfast with rosellas and kookaburras and just 2 mins walk to Sassafras. Have stayed here twice and will again!

The house and grounds are absolutely stunning! We adored our stay at this property especially the outdoor bathhouse which was a real treat. The hosts were wonderfully helpful and very sweet. All in all would recommend to anyone to stay here!

Thank you for allowing us to stay at Magnolias on Mernda - it is the most relaxing and beautiful accommodation we have ever been too. The detail to decor and comfort is just wow! Our little dog Lyka absolutely loved the vast gardens she can run around in too. Can’t wait to return and hopefully use the outdoor bath feature.

An excellent accommodation located within 10 minutes drive to Puffing Billy. Calvin and Judy keep their place clean for the comfort of the guest. Though the shared kitchen and laundry facilities are located at the host’s side of the house, Calvin and Judy were hospitable to offer the access to these facilities at their side of the house upon request. Calvin and Judy filled the accommodation for their guest with books, including children’s colouring books, movie CDs and game consoles (Wii, I remember I saw Sony Play Station too). Apart from local maps and attraction brochures, Calvin and Judy even compiled a folio of the 31 (if my memory still works perfectly) trails with respective distant and time required to complete the walk. These books, CDs and trails make the place great for family escapade to spend a few days in a tranquil environment.

This historic house is very charming. The owner is Chinese, so the communication is very easy. She is very hospitable. In order to make us a kitchen, I went out to eat. In the morning, I also told us that they have left. Let us Feel free to be at ease, very intimate, there is a trail nearby to walk, very good, you can look to Melbourne, in short, the cost is relatively high

Great place and location if you are visiting dandenong!

It's my second stay, it's still a very comfortable, clean, welcoming place. Kornthip and Sam are so friendly and helpful, it's a pleasure to chat with them. I definitely recommend this place.

We only spent one night here, but we thoroughly enjoyed it! Lovely home, hospitable host.

This house is outstanding. So clean, large, perfect floor plan. Ideal home for groups, friends and/or family get together. We loved our stay.

We hired the barn as part of the home for the extra accommodation. Please refer to my review of the home but the barn was lovely, clean and gave us that little more space we needed.

We hired the stables that are in the grounds of Springfield @ Lysterfield to ensure we had the property to ourselves and to have use of the mattresses as we were a large group. Please see my review of our excellent stay on the main property

Anna's place was a beautiful stay, surrounded by ferns and gum trees in a cosy cottage. the hospitality was great and Anna made us feel very welcome. great stay and great location.

Anna's studio is the perfect couples getaway! We enjoyed a week of peace, fresh air, good food and quirky people up in the hills. Also having a hotplate to cook a simple meal is nice for breakfast in bed on a lazy day. Thank you for the lovely stay!

Loved staying at Anna’s stylish but rustic studio. Gorgeous walks nearby and not far from the station in Belgrave. Highly recommend it if you need some time out of the city!

Anna’s place is all around beautiful and great to stay if you want to escape the daily city life and have a little holiday away from home. My partner and I had a fantastic time going on the walks that she suggested. Will definitely be coming back again soon!

I love staying at Gully Private Retreat because it is so relaxed. It is like a home away from home and the hosts are fabulous. They go out of their way to help make my stay trouble free. The cottage is very well appointed with everything I need. I am spending several months in Melbourne and hopefully most of it at Gully Private Retreat.

Beautiful property! Heaven on earth

Li's cottage is a beautiful little spot so close to the Dandenong ranges, it's got a private but spacious garden that we had a lovely time relaxing in. Can definitely reccomend this as a cute place to stay when visiting the ranges

A comfortable indoor space with beautiful outdoor eating setting. Exploration of the garden was a Belgrave attraction in itself. We were on foot with a toddler and still made it up the hill from the station - well worth it!

The location of Li's cottage is brilliant. Roughly a five minute walk to town. The cottage had everything we needed and was comfortable. The garden is like a forest so the view is amazing.

We were looking for get away in middle of nature and this place was right spot for us. Great hospitality by the owner and was always there to help us with any query.

The cottage is lovely and very comfortable. You are very close to Upwey but far enough away from the hustle & bustle. Azalea gave us great tips on what to see and do. At Azaleas recommendation we had dinner at Tin Pan Alley and it was fantastic. The welcome basket was amazing and a tour of the farm is a must. A great place to stay to enjoy all the Dandenongs have to offer.

We have just spent a completely idyllic week in the Harvest Homestead cottage. Azalea and her family were so kind and welcoming, and we had a tour of their farm and were encouraged to pick fresh vegetables from their beautiful gardens and collect eggs from the chickens - which we used for some amazing breakfasts. We also had our own privacy, though, with our own entrance and parking at the cottage so we could come and go as we pleased without worrying about disturbing everyone. The cottage itself is beautiful; it is clean, well equipped and has so many thoughtful touches like the jars of fresh cut flowers from the garden, gorgeous bed linen, organic coconut soap, and a welcome breakfast basket complete with homemade bread- still warm. The location also makes it an ideal bade for exploring the Dandenong region and close enough to get to Melbourne for a day trip. We would definitely recommend this place - thank you so much Azalea!

Harvest Homestead was a highlight of our trip to Australia. The property was perfect for our needs, clean and there were many thoughtful touches. We loved the homegrown cottage flowers and the breakfast provided by Azalea was delicious. The tour of the farm and animals and suggestions for places to visit were much appreciated.

Lovely stay and super friendly hosts who invited us for a Christmas Eve party at some friend's house as soon as we arrived. The cottage is lovely decorated and the welcoming breakfast was delicious and very generous. The farm is an enchanting place. Azalea and her family are definitely super hosts.

Highly recommended. The stay comes with a breakfast basket and an hour farm tour. The farm has alpacas, sheep, chickens and bunnies. Lots of fruits, vegetables and herbs as well. The hosts were wonderful and warm people. Last but not least, we got lucky and caught the annual shearing. Thanks for making our farm stay so memorable!

Azalea and family were easy going, and their urban farm and breakfast basket was awesome. We booked this primarily to be on the farm most of the time, as we come from an urban city environment, and we enjoyed the farm tour, and our children loved being in the farm, on the trampoline, playing with their kids. Would have been perfect if the pool was available.

Special highlights for our kids were the baby bunnies and collecting eggs from the chickens. Mum even got some hugs from the alpaca. All around a special and memorable experience.

We had a most wonderful 3 night stay here on Harvest Homestead. Azalea provided a beautiful welcome basket filled with homemade bread and juice and pastries, and produce from the farm. We had them for breakfast and it was lovely. Our kids loved how cosy the home is and also loved running about and exploring the farm. They thoroughly enjoyed picking fresh herbs and feeding the animals on the farm. Azalea gave us an excellent farm tour. We had such a lovely time and would definitely return again if we visit Melbourne next time!
