From here you can explore famous places such as Geiranger and Olden (approx. 2 hours), Loen with Skylift (1.5 hours), the bird island Runde, Øye (1 hour) and the Jugendbyen Ålesund (1.5 hours). The cabin is located near the ski resort (ski-in/ski-out) and nice groomed cross country ski tracks and light rail are just nearby. The area otherwise has great hiking opportunities on foot. Fjellsetra is a good starting point for many nice hikes in both summer and winter. It is also a good starting point for a day trip to Geiranger and Ålesund. In the summer you can also fish in Nysætervatnet (must buy fishing license).
