The place was absolutely stunning! We felt like a king and queen staying here and really enjoyed the decor and ambiance after a long day of exploring. The local monastery ruins are beautiful and the pub down the street had some friendly locals and delicious pizza. Thank you for hosting us!

we stayed at Richard's place for 2 days and loved every bit of it as someone from this was a perfect blend of country side and a small town just 2 mins away for easy accessibility their local pub and the food served there was so fresh in every bite I would definitely recommend this place also the place is more beautiful in person than the photos

I absolutely loved my stay at the lodge. It really is the most gorgeous place and is surrounded by woodland to one side and rolling hills to the other. I needed somewhere to escape to for a relaxing weekend away and this couldn’t have been more perfect - it’s so cosy, comfortable and the attention to detail is just wonderful - it felt like home (a very beautifully styled version of home) and I didn’t want to leave. The gardens are lovely too - lots of different spots to relax and enjoy the sunshine and the sound of the birds and the river. Ken was a lovely host - he organised some food and drink for me for when I arrived so that I didn’t have to worry about shopping. He shared recommendations of things to do and checked in with me during my stay to make sure all was ok. I really did feel thoroughly spoilt!

This is a hiker's paradise! Lots of beautiful scenery and quiet roads to walk on. You can walk directly from the cottage to Tomnafinnoge woods and along the old railway line straight to Tinahely village which has everything you might need: shops, post office, and direct access to the Wicklow Way. This is my 2nd visit to this area and I will be back! Each time I visit, I discover more that I want to do next time! If other people in your group aren't into hiking, there are loads of other things to do in the area - stately homes, open gardens, bigger towns for shopping, cafés, pubs, etc. The scenery and architecture is beautiful all round this area.
