Mabon House near Zip World

SteveRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Really enjoyed our stay. Tracey and Bob are super friendly and helpful. Would strongly recommend you pop next door and say hello. The house is beautiful and has everything you need. Treorchy is well positioned for trips to the Brecons. We also drove down to Barry Island in less than an hour and Cardiff on the train for less than £10 each. We ate out a couple of times, once at the Cardiff Arms Bistro which was ok and once at the Glamorgan Bar & Grill where the food was excellent. We had breakfast at the Old School Tea Room which you really must visit, breakfast was top notch . The Pencelli Hotel re-opened the day we left but looked lovely. Would definitely recommend staying here as a base to check out the area. Locals were all really friendly and helpful.

This was great for our rugby trip to Wales. We chose Pontneddfechan as we are actually from the nearby village of Cwmgwrach, but now live in the Lake District in Cumbria. 5 of us stayed here and were very happy with the location, in close proximity of everything we needed. We do this trip every 2 years. so hopefully see you again then . thank you

Brecon House | Bike Park Wales | Secure Bike Shed

ChrisRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We enjoyed staying at Jamie’s place; it provided a good hub for us to explore the local area and all that the Brecon Beacons had to offer. It was nice to be able to come back after a busy day and relax in a clean and cosy space that had everything we needed. Jamie was always responsive and there to be contacted if necessary and we’d recommend Beacon House to anyone who wants a nice house within a stones throw of some lovely walks and places to visit.

Cottage - Rural/Animal Retreat

JonRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Spent the weekend staying in the cottage. The cottage is lovely, comfortable and charming. Felicity was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The farm is lovely we didn’t tire of watching the pony’s at our window! We came to adventure and the pack that has been put together by the host of areas to visit was very useful. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful and I would be more than happy to recommend this retreat to anyone wanting to get out to enjoy some of the majestic sights of the Brecon Beacons. We had a great stay and will hopefully return again for a visit in future.

We really enjoyed our stay at Alison's - thank you for having us! The spacious apartment has obviously been recently furnished, and it was extremely clean. There was everything we needed, with a very comfortable bed with high quality bed linen. Thank you for the generous welcome basket, which was ideal for our breakfasts, and we enjoyed the biscuits too! All in all we thought it was excellent, and a great location for visiting St Fagans and our Cardiff cousins. Thank you very much to Alison and Luigi, and we hope to stay with you again.

A comfy, well equipped space in the Brecon Beacons

SaraRating, 5 stars5 days ago
We really enjoyed staying in this charming former dairy cottage. The views are simply breathtaking and the ground floor apartment was very comfortable. We loved having our breakfast on the little terrace and a lie on the grass at the end of the day was very relaxing. The bed was comfortable and the shower was powerful. Attractive furnishings g made for an uplifting stay. Liz made us feel very welcome. Crickhowell a short drive away is delightful and we particularly enjoyed our lunch at The Bear. We hope to return.

Very helpfull, good communication, great suggestions and most of all, a lovely house. The initial form filling and deposit providing on their own platform was kind of jarring and a bit of a hassle but I guess thats how they maintain it so well and it was well worth the state of the place. Would 100% recommend, dont let the form filling stop you!

We loved our stay here. It's a small place but has been perfectly designed to fit everything you need in it. The fold down bed was super comfortable. With the train station walkable and a short train ride to Cardiff, it's an ideal place to use as a base when visiting there. Overall, we would definitely recommend this place, and as we often visit family in Cardiff, we would use again

Golden Lions Den

SimonRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Maxine’s flat was very well appointed. It is clear she has put a lot of care into decoration. The linen smelt lovely and fresh. The view from the main bedroom is beautiful and perfect with a morning cuppa. Maxine left an extremely generous welcome pack which was gratefully received. The kitchen is well supplied for self catering. We walked into Brynmawr and along the 46 cycle track to Abergavenny which is about 11 miles. We also visited the Four Waterfalls Trail, around 30 min away. Sugar Loaf Mountain is also worth visiting. We had a drink in The Hobby Horse in Brynmawr, which was good value for money and has a good reputation for food. We also ate in The Grofield in Abergavenny which served good food with a friendly atmosphere. Thank you for your warm welcome Maxine. We would certainly look to rebook in the future to explore more of The Brecon Beacons. Mel and Simon

Penarth Family Home - Gorgeous views of Cardiff...

MatthewRating, 5 stars28 months ago
I have to come clean - I am an enthusiast of Penarth, the architecture of the town, the community feel, and everything about the place. Sarah's place, being among the oldest houses in the town, was a must for all the things I was looking for. Sarah herself is friendly and has clearly put a lot of herself into the house. My journey time to Penarth could have been subject to delays, being more than 500 miles... but we had good communication and met up without difficulty at the house. All in all, the house was cosy and well appointed. It also was a great base for strolling into Penarth Town centre and even, across the barrage, to Butetown and even Cardiff. I would thoroughly recommend Sara's house for your stay.
A scenic view captures the lush, rolling hills of the countryside surrounding Berry Wood Barn. A picturesque barn sits amidst green meadows, with distant mountains creating a dramatic backdrop under a clear blue sky, inviting outdoor exploration.

Berry Wood Barn

FrankRating, 5 stars23 months ago
This clever barn conversion is quite thoughtfully designed and very comfortable inside and out. The professional level of decoration found a wonderful balance of beauty and homeyness; everything was lovely in the most welcoming way. There was lots of space for our family to spread out, and the beds and linens were excellent. As lovely as the house is, the best part by far is the view. It was absolutely stunning, rain or shine! We found ourselves drawn outside at all hours of the day to enjoy the sights and sounds around us. Just as described, there were places in the house where the wifi was spotty, and the track up through the neighboring farm to the house might be a challenge for some cars. As we had read about the property, we were not surprised and spent an absolutely wonderful week there! There were plenty of restaurants and grocery stores 10-15 minutes away in Abergavenny when we could tear ourselves away from this slice of paradise.
