Very cozy space, decorated with style and design, with all the amenities you need to relax or even work from home. Fully equipped with machines and appliances you need to live comfortably. A Casa está muito bem localizada, tem muito bons acessos e apesar de estar numa zona muito calma, está perto de muitos locais de interesse ao redor de Lisboa. Pode-se estacionar tranquilamente à porta de casa, 1 ou 2 carros, sem restrições ou limitações. Surroundings and Suggestions: Get your GPS ready and plan your day trips to some places suggested below: SINTRA: Start with visiting the neighborhood: São Pedro de Sintra. You will find in “Casa do Preto”, the pastry shop down the road, many new and delicious Portuguese pastries, try the “queijadas”… delicious! There is also another cozy coffee shop: NATÁLIA in a walking distance. You can also find many restaurants, and nice typical places to eat. Go to Sintra town center: is one of those places full of magic and mystery where nature and man have combined in a symbiosis so perfect that UNESCO has classified it as a World Heritage Site. Exotic gardens, lush parklands with centuries-old trees, fantastically decorated palaces, a Moorish castle, older than Europe, small lakes with nooks and fake ruins in the midst of nature are certainly inspiring for a special moment. Sintra is surely one of the most romantic destinations in Portugal, where kings and queens have fallen in love and Which writers and poets, such as Eça de Queiroz and Lord Byron, have recorded for ever in their works. Things to do in Sintra: Have a coffee with the amazing pastry “travesseiro” in Periquita coffee shop. Visit the palace PALÁCIO DA VILA. Visit the house and gardens of QUINTA DA REGALEIRA. Then go up the mountain to another palace PALÁCIO DA PENA and castle CASTELO DOS MOUROS. Get back in the car and go to CONVENTO DOS CAPUCHOS ancient convent in the mountain, then to PENINHA, and finally to Azóia where you can relax in a bar called BAR DO MOINHO. Nearby you can also visit CABO DA ROCA the most western part of Europe. You could carry up north by the coast and pass a beach called ADRAGA with a great seafood restaurant. 3 km after you will find another great beach PRAIA GRANDE. And finally if you carry on you can stop in a small and cute village by the sea AZENHAS DO MAR. Visit CASCAIS and ESTORIL: The house is only 11 km from the cosmopolitan Cascais, with its marina, entertainment, shopping, beaches, restaurants, coffee shops, delightful esplanades by the sea, not to mention the buzz of a very active nightlife. Estoril, that has the biggest casino in Europe, is only 9 km away. The beach Guincho, in Cascais, with its surrounding natural park, is highly recommended for beach and water sports activities (as windsurf or kitesurf). Along this coast the choice of beaches is endless and white sandy family beaches are only 15 minutes drive away. The closest beaches are Praia Grande, Guincho and Estoril. LISBON: Portugal´s capital is only 20 to 25 minutes away by car. Heading to the old part of Lisbon you can first get to CHIADO, park the car for the day and start by having a Portuguese expresso in BRASILEIRA or BENARD coffee shops (never miss the pastry PASTEL DE NATA!). Up another hill across downtown you can take a TUK TUK TOUR to get you to the castle CASTELO DE SÃO JORGE and the old city MOURARIA. There are plenty of beautiful churches all around the old part of Lisbon. In BAIXA (downtown) enjoy the great square TERREIRO DO PAÇO, have a walk alongside the RIVER TAGUS all the way to CAIS DO SODRÉ train station stopping for lunch at the nearby market MERCADO DA RIBEIRA. Head back home from Lisbon before rush hour, 5pm is a good time. DISTANCES: Praia Grande Beach: 10 Km Guincho Beach: 11 km Estoril Beach: 10 km Beloura’s Tennis courts: 3.3 Km Restaurants and bars: 300m Pharmacy: 1 Km Supermarket: 1.5 Km Sintra’s Railway station: 1.2 Km Cascais marina: 12 km Penha Longa golf course: 4 km Cascais centre: 11 km Estoril Casino: 9 Km Sintra center: 1,5 km Cape Roca: 11 km Lisbon center: 22 km *** Lisbon airport: 22 km REALLY NICE RESTAURANTS WE RECOMMEND: Fish or sea food Top best luxury sea food restaurants are by the coast, between Cascais and Guincho. Just pick one! At Azenhas do Mar beach: Sal or Azenhas do Mar (great sunset view). The last one is more expensive. At Praia das Maçãs: Loureiro or O Búzio. At Praia da Adraga: Praia da Adraga At Praia Grande: Bar do Fundo VII. Useful information: HOSPITAL: If you need to see a doctor or if there is a medical emergency go to the nearest public hospital in Cascais, Hospital de Cascais, about 10 minutes away. GPS coordinates: 38.4347.4,-9.2505. PHARMACY: The closest one is near the local Church, 1km away from the house. Open every day. SUPERMARKETS: Open every day between 7am and 12pm. The closest one is Aldi is just a few roundabouts away on the way to Estoril (9am-9pm). Supercor, more down the same road as Aldi’s (9am-10pm). Then follows Continente in Cascaishopping shopping center (8.30am-11pm Monday to Sunday; 8.30am-12pm Friday and Saturday). Pingo Doce is in Portela de Sintra (in front of Casa do Preto, turn left and go down the road. Once passing through a BP gas station, turn right, then turn on the second road left) SHOPS: Plenty of all sorts of shops in Cascaishopping shopping center, Sintra Retail Park on IC19 road, open every day from 10 am to 23 Pm. Villa Santa Maria guest house is only 20 km from Lisbon International Airport and very easily accessible by car through the main road Lisboa-Sintra (IC19). also by train or bus. Extras para crianças, tal como rede para protecção de cama, caminha de bebé, cadeira alta para bebé, banheira de bebé, estão disponíveis para os hóspedes, mas devem ser requisitados previamente . Cozy 1850s Windmill with City and River Sunset Views

Climb the curving staircase in a historic windmill to admire sunsets from a vantage point like no other. The interior has been updated to provide modern comforts, but there are plenty of quirky original details to make this a unique romantic getaway. Enjoy a delicious breakfast from a tree house with views to the city and river (optional — €20 for 2 people). For little ones', or the grown-ups', fun we do have an small swimming pool during spring and summer. Here you'll find a great getaway from the city buzz, but only 10min away by walking to the ferry that takes you to Lisbon. 5 min walking distance to the Fluvial station of Porto Brandão from which a 10min boat trip will take you directly to Belém. The Windmill was totally refurbished but kept the original feel, with practically no alterations to the original structure preserving all stones, windows and iron pieces as initially found when the property was purchased. This accommodation offers the unique experience of sleeping on a building with more than 150 years of history, originally used for grinding flour to be sent to feed the inhabitants of Lisboa. In the kitchen on the ground floor you’ll find 5 millstones that will bring you closer to this past time. This cozy Windmill is equipped with a very comfortable bed for well-rested nights and a lounge area that provides a great spot to chill at sunset, enjoy a glass of wine or even to have a meal, but that can also accommodate 2 additional people on a double mattress. Adding to the character and comfort found in this Windmill you'll find stunning views from here. You’ll be able to see several sights along the river such as the 25 de Abril bridge, MAAT, Museu da Electricidade, Padrão dos Descobrimentos, Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and as far as the Sintra’s Palácio da Pena goes. Depending on the time of the year you will also be presented with blossoming trees, be able to pick fruits directly from them, or even enjoy a meal on top of an olive tree treehouse. Ideal for slow-paced tourism, nature lovers, romantic escapes, or family trips this accommodation offers plenty of opportunities due to its characteristics, vicinity to cosmopolitan Lisboa and a bunch of interesting sites. Don’t miss: - Beaches - 8Km -> Beginning of the longest continuous beach in the country, with an extension of approximately 30Km - Serra da Arrábida – 32Km - Sintra – 37Km - Cascais – 39Km - Mafra – 52Km - Óbidos – 96Km Please note the following: - Kitchen equipped with coffee machine, toaster, electric kettle, small electric stove and fridge. - Windmill with 3 floors. Stairs may not be suitable for kids under 6. Bikes can be arranged upon request for an extra fee of 10eur (whole day). Inflatable Kayak 3p - 40€ (whole day) Kitesurf equipment -150€ (whole day) I really like to receive my guests personally and share my favorite places in Lisboa and on the surroundings. The windmill is on the south bank of the Tejo River, just across from Belém. It's in the quiet of the countryside, and is just 10 minutes from Lisbon by ferry boat and many beaches by car. 5 min walking distance to the Fluvial station of Porto Brandão from which a 10min boat trip will take you directly to Lisbon (Belém). From Belém to city center there are plenty trains (10min). Please check the time schedule for the ferrys at Transtejo website. Connection between Belem and Porto Brandão. A taxi/uber drive from Lisbon city center to the windmill usually it's about 20eur.
