Vacation rentals with lake access in Pretoria

Ewald wasn't there himself but he communicated well - I believe he was overseas the weekend we were there. The guy that showed us around was very kind and helpful. We arrived there when the sun had already set so we couldn't see the view but having coffee outside with such a beautiful view was a great start of the day! Before we left on the Sunday, some baboons greeted us from a distance! :D

The pictures do not do it justice. What a beautiful home with stunning views of the dam. Multiple seating areas inside and outside. Electric blankets and air conditioning provided which really made our stay more comfortable. Spacious bedrooms with enough bathrooms. Would recommend getting more serving dishes and food storage containers especially because the house caters for a large number of guests. Otherwise , no complaints. Responsive host and caretaker. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at Chris’s even with our days being extremely rainy. The indoor fire became a daily essential to dry our clothes and make the place cosy. Chris was great at communicating, and responsive when we had troubles getting into the gated community entrance (new security system in place) it looks like the photos, there is a lot of security at the home with initially intimidating locks and bars on windows, but we felt safe and met some friendly locals. Recommend the kosmos cafe and the walk along the lake, and good hikes nearby. Thanks Chris!

We had a wonderful stay! The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The host was friendly, responsive, and made the check-in process super easy. The location was great, close to everything Harties has to offer. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Our stay was nothing short of amazing. The property is absolutely beautiful — the pictures truly don’t do it justice! Every corner of the home was thoughtfully designed and impeccably clean, with a perfect balance of comfort and style. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcome and well taken care of. Our host was incredibly kind, responsive, and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect throughout our stay. It is rare to find a place that exceeds expectations in every way, but this one absolutely did. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Jacquie is a very wonderful host , very helpful and she also recommended some things to do and where to do it. She also gave us a map to show where we are and where to go when we need anything. The place itself was very lovely, it was super clean and smells really nice. I will definitely come back to her place.

As a family of three, we absolutely loved staying here. It was so spacious and has everything you need, so we were very comfortable and enjoyed our 10 day stay. Mokaba is a great host, and was immediately responsive to all our requests. The area is quiet and safe, and there are nearby shops and parks in walking distance. Would absolutely stay again!

Celebrated my birthday at the most beautiful place ever , Sis Idah was so responsive and kind . She check in every step of the way I’m sure she realised it as my first time at that location . The place was spotless and felt just like home . Her instructions were clear and if I needed anything I could reach out . Thank you so much sis Idah you really made everything come alive for me 🥹❤️

Villa Lexington is a dream to stay at! The pictures don’t do the place justice. It’s in a great area, quiet and peaceful! The place is spacious, modern, immaculate and inviting! Angela is a kind and very responsive host, we were well informed about everything from gate codes, check-in and she was even lenient to give us a much needed 1-hour late check-out which we greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back and will consider Villa Lexington our first choice when needing to stay in the area.

10/10 would recommend. Pictures don’t do the place any justice. Julie was quick to respond to our texts. We have an awesome weekend. Only issue we had, was the wifi and the slow connection to the TV. We couldn’t watch a show without buffering but the wifi worked well on our cellphone devices.

Tanja's cabins were peaceful and private along the river and were well stocked with kitchen supplies. Everyone was very attentive to our needs. While there are several other cabins each felt as if we were all by ourselves. The rivers edge is walkable and fishable with many different water birds and we even saw an otter and kudu. This is a gem of a place (thw caretakers as well) and I highly recommend!

Truly a lovely and peaceful cottage! It's got everything you need + a nice yard. I like how the place is close to the mall, the dam, restaurants, and Aerial Cableway. Pieter is a wonderful host and there when you need him; very nice and wants to share all he knows about the area. Will definitely book again soon. We had a lovely stay!

We stayed with three couples at Ibis River Retreat and had two cottages. Both cottages were super private, have their own private jacuzzi, which we enjoyed a lot. We had a lovely Braai in the evening and took a nice walk down to the river in the morning. We also booked a couples massage down at the Pool, which we would 100% recommend! Already one night felt like a full holiday and we felt absolutely rested and will definitely come back next time we’re in South Africa! Especially being so close to Johannesburg Airport (50 minutes drive), but still feeling like out in the wild surprised me very positively!

This charming riverside cabin (Fish eagle) is the perfect romantic getaway. Tucked away in a peaceful, secluded spot, it offers a cozy, immaculate space with a breathtaking view of the river. The highlight of our stay was the relaxing jacuzzi, where we could unwind and take in the stunning scenery around us. The cabin itself had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the peaceful atmosphere made it feel like our own private retreat. The friendly staff, especially Ilse and Tanja, were welcoming and made sure our experience was flawless, adding to the overall sense of relaxation. Whether it was sipping coffee by the river in the morning or enjoying a soothing soak in the hot tub at night, this place offered the perfect blend of nature, comfort, and tranquility. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape to recharge and reconnect with your loved one, this cabin is an absolute must. We can’t wait to return for another unforgettable stay!
