The Limehouse Cottage

EmerRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Grace's house was a real treat! Nestled away in the trees overlooking the river made it feel so private and peaceful. The house itself was so cosy, clean and inviting but had plenty of space and different areas to relax. The grounds were amazing and the kids had a ball discovering the swings, hottub and reading shed. The whole place was magical and we were sad to leave. Grace was very responsive to any communication and made us feel so welcome. The house location was a great base for some of the stunning sights Donegal has to offer and we were very close to many beautiful sandy beaches. This house was the best airbnb we have ever stayed in! We can't wait to come back, thanks so much Grace

The Lakehouse

We had a great stay at this Airbnb. The space was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The wood-burning hot tub was a highlight—though it took about 2–3 hours of tending the fire to heat up, it was incredibly relaxing once ready. The surrounding ponds added a peaceful, scenic touch, and we really enjoyed walking around the area. Peter was a responsive and helpful host, especially when I accidentally left something behind—he kindly let me return to pick it up. Overall, a lovely and memorable stay.

The Red Bridge Cottage

We had a truly wonderful stay at this charming cottage. The location is absolutely perfect—peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by beautiful countryside. It was the ideal spot to relax and unwind, with nature right at our doorstep. The cottage itself was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. It felt like a real home away from home. Our host Mairead was fantastic— She made sure we had everything we needed and had the turf fire lit on our arrival. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the beauty and tranquility of Donegal!

Stylish, spacious, secluded home beautiful views

EwanRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Andrew's country home has been sensitively updated so that not everything is brand new or 'shiny', but is clean, bright and homely, so we immediately felt relaxed - the living spaces and bedrooms are all bright and spacious, and the garden and views are all great. I stayed with my daughter, her fiance and their dog pepper as somewhere to have easy access to the wild west while they were over from the UK, and we all loved it - great value for money, and if you like being off the beaten trail, give this place a try.

Rouge Sea Cottage-- One Bedroom

FionaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
A magical and cosy cottage, beautifully decorated in calming neutral tones. The bed and sofa are wonderfully comfortable, perfect for relaxing, lazy days. It’s a lovely place to truly switch off and unwind, but still close enough to explore the charm of nearby unspoilt towns. The enclosed garden made it feel safe and welcoming for our 2 dogs, which was a big plus. Just at the end of the lane, you’ll find a stony seafront where you can take in the dramatic beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way. And if you’re after a sandy beach, there’s a stunning 5km stretch just a 15-minute drive away. There’s plenty to see and do in the area too, including a visit to Belleek Urban Park in Ballina. A wonderful spot for a peaceful, scenic escape.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The space is excellent - homely and cosy yet with plenty of room. The open fire is great for cooler evenings. The kitchen is spacious and has everything you need. There’s also a sunroom on the side of the house which is lovely and bright if it’s not warm enough to sit outside. The cottage is close to beautiful beaches and there are a few shops nearby if you need groceries or fuel. We would definitely stay again!

Greenhills Cottage -Overlooking Slieve League

HeleneRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We arrived in torrential rain and were met by the owner who quickly ushered us into the house which was warm and cosy, explained where everything was and kindly left us a lovely cake and milk in the fridge to settle us in. The house is exactly as described, comfortable beds and everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. Great to be able to sit out on the decking with a glass of wine after our daily travels and enjoy the view, peace & quiet. The only thing we couldn't find was a hairdryer, not sure if there was supposed to be one but it didn't matter as we all had short hair!! Our hosts were very friendly and great to have a chat to about where we were planning on visiting etc. Lots of amazing places to visit and the most beautiful beaches, so lucky with the weather during our stay...the rain came back when were were leaving. Would highly recommend staying here :-)

Donegal Cottage in lush countryside

AndrewRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Mary's place is exquisite. I felt like we were living on a grand estate, but with a very comfortable and relaxing vibe. The "cottage" is very spacious, beautifully decorated (she and Peter have fabulous taste in art), well-appointed, and very comfortable. Loved book-ending our days with morning coffee on the comfortable sofa's in the large, airy and bright sunroom and sitting by a fire in the cozy living room. The beds were all comfortable with high-quality linens and we were lulled to sleep by mooing cows and softly bleating sheep. Mary is one of the most responsive hosts I've had, helping us to find her place in the dark after an unexpectedly late arrival and responding promptly to texts--even when sent late at night. She's also a great conversationalist. We loved our interactions with her and learned so much about the local history (and many other topics). We were even treated to a private tour of the Beltany Stone Circle, just a 5-minute walk away. I highly recommend staying here!
