Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Placencia Peninsula

All I have to say is...PERFECTION!!! We've been renting airbnb's for over 10 years and this has been the best yet. Great location, well taken care of, clean, responsive friendly hosts, great amenities and the most well stocked place I've experienced. I can't say enough great things about this place.

As beautiful and peaceful as we were hoping! Such a great setting, very easy to find and super central to both Maya Beach and just a 20-min drive to Placencia. Publics grocery is 8-min drive south, and loads of close restaurants. We used the kayaks and even fished in them across the lagoon. Star gazed at night from the dock, and cooked in the fully equipped and stocked kitchen. Herbert provided absolutely anything you could ever need and then some. Seriously, not just sun block and bug spray, but like 3 kinds. Numerous different towels and beach towels, umbrellas, spices and oils/marinades in the kitchen, not only kayaks and bikes, but a fishing pole and net, multiple sizes life jacket, super strong WiFi, you name it. Great bathroom with big tub and strong water pressure. Sitting on the deck listening to the lagoon was mesmerizing. Obviously a lot of planning went into the thoughtful details and we absolutely loved our stay. Thank you Herbert!

Arthur und Aura waren super Gastgeber und sehr großzügig mit dem Checkout. Wir wären so gern länger geblieben!

We had a great family stay! Very responsive team and great amenities - View is spectacular and super clean. We loved Archie (the local dog team member) as well!!! We utilized the local chef service and they also stocked the fridge with items requested for us for our arrival. Would stay again!

We are a family of 5 and recently stayed at La Vida Belize. The house was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. The plunge pool, beach and dock were the perfect place to relax after a day of adventure. We enjoyed being in a quieter area and didn’t mind the distance from the main area of Placencia. We rented a car and explored several areas in Belize during our stay. We used the guestbook for tips about the area and places to eat near Maya Beach. The grounds keepers were friendly and kept everything nice for us during our stay. The host responded quickly to any questions we had. During our week stay, some of the activities we were able to do included: snorkling with Captain Jak’s, visit the Bocawina Nation Park & Zip-line Adventure, fishing, a Monkey River tour and visit some Mayan Ruins. We also spent a good amount of time relaxing and reading on the beach or by the pool. We recommend staying here.

The house was very comfortable and views were amazing. We loved having our own oasis away from the hustle and bustle. The location is not near the main village so would recommend having your own transportation. The kitchen had everything you'd need so we didn't have to purchase a bunch of additional items like spices. Bed was comfortable and the overall living space was great.

Stop searching for a place and book here!! We absolutely LOVED our stay at Salty Bliss! The house is everything and more. We spent most of our vacation enjoying the beautiful pool looking at the lagoon! Bonnie and Dora are the nicest and so helpful. We booked a golf cart (highly recommend doing to explore the island!) and a snorkeling tour (that picked us up right from the lagoon in the back of the house!) with Bonnie’s advice and can’t recommend using the same companies enough. The house is SO stocked with everything you could ever need - towels, coolers, bags, even frozen gel packs ready to put into the coolers. When we return to Placencia I wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else! Thank you so much Bonnie for making our first visit unforgettable! 💜

We had a wonderful stay at Beth’s home! The location was perfect- a quick golf cart ride into town with plenty options for shopping, restaurants, and groceries. We loved fishing off the dock right behind the house. The dock was also fantastic because two of our excursions picked us up right from our home! The pool was key! Our kids loved it. And we didn’t feel guilty staying home and relaxing and soaking up the sun by the pool with a rum drink and some good music. Or reading a book outside on the couches enjoying the nice breeze. The house was stocked with most everything we needed. The sunsets from the top deck are glorious. The coffee bar a few steps away was super convenient. And also, steps away, the spa experience was amazing- best massage we’ve had since Thailand- so we went twice during our visit! Johan and Beth were incredibly responsive to my many questions! We would definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay at Louis’ Apartments. They were clean and cool! Daily room service cleaning was available if you needed it. We only used it once in our week stay for towels and garbage removal. It was close to everything you needed in the village.

Great place to stay in Placencia! Perfect location for walking to restaurants, the beach and the grocery store. We enjoyed having our daily siesta in the lovely air conditioning, but utilized the screened in patio for reading in the hammock and hanging clothes to dry. Nice bathroom and shower, comfortable bed as well. Highly recommend.

In the month that we stayed, a few things needed attention. Those few items were taken care of right away. Both our maintenance guy and our housekeeper were always cheerful, helpful and efficient. The apartment, including the kitchen, was very well appointed. The bed was comfortable and everything worked as expected. Kudos to Craig for providing a very pleasant and practical place to stay. Recomended!

This place is perfect for a beach getaway. We traveled with our two teenage daughters and everyone had their own space. The deck is awesome and so relaxing every morning. A short walk to the beach and shops and restaurants all around within walking distance. We did not have a car as everything was so close. Candace was amazing and shared recommendations for dinner and even connected us with a snorkeling guide - AMAZING!!! The gelato place was a nightly visit for us too :) Everyone was super friendly and the beach is very safe. If you can rent it, do it!

This was our 8th stay in Placencia. We have always stayed at the same place which we love but it was not avaliable. Trying somewhere new was a little iffy but the Updeh Apartment at Ohana did not disappoint. The inside and outside are beautiful. We truly enjoyed our 10 days and cannot wait to go back. Thank you for everything!

Flowers Rental Agency was wonderful to work with, they met us at the unit and showed us around. They checked on us the next day to make sure there wasn't anything else we needed. The unit itself is like the pictures, and it was very nice having a private washer/dryer in the unit. We were in Marisol North which is next to the pool and our kids loved it! There are three units in total in this building so we did have to share the pool with others occasionally but it was not a problem for us as the pool is quite large. It's about a 2 min walk to a beach, and about a 5 minute walk to the pier which we believe has the best beach for the kids. Walkable to all of Placencia, we rented a vehicle but honestly didn't even need it while staying at this location. We will definitely be back!

We loved our stay and will ONLY stay here whenever we visit Placencia. The apartment seems newly renovated. Everything is in pristine condition. The water gets really hot. The balcony is large. You can reach the beach and restaurants in under 2 minutes walking. You can reach the grocery store and bank in about 7 minutes walking. The host went out of his way to ensure my daughter and I had everything we needed. Days after checking out, we saw the host outside while we were searching for a location and the host saw us, checked on us, and went out of his way to help us. Not only is he a great host, he's a great person!

2nd stay with Rodney! Easy and centrally located. Will stay here again!

Vacasa Belize was exactly what we needed. The space and facilities were nice. If you like coffee or tea in the morning, grab some grounds from the local Pulics on your way in - you'll pass it the last couple miles before the rental. The beds were comfy, the larger shower was really nice, I didn't use the smaller one, and sleeping on the couch wasn't bad after the main AC unit had maintenance done. We came during the down time, on-site parking was easy. Walked down the beach two resorts for dinner our first night. Pool is well maintained, and has plenty of seating. The beach was full of sargassum (brown seaweed) making it inaccessible, but the balcony looking over the ocean made up for it. The rental group managing the property made wonderful suggestions for tours - winds were high, so Silk Caye wasn't possible during our trip but we did get to visit a tiny resort island 'King Lewey's' and were four of 8 people there. Will definitely be back! *The property is updating windows*

We were two couples who stayed in Michelle’s condo fairly last minute when our accommodations were cancelled. Check in was smooth with Jack”s assistance and condo was great. Perfect space for the 4 of us . Edwin and his family were lovely and always ready to take us on the boat ride across the canal for the short walk/bike ride to town. Edwin and Jack were both very responsive and always willing to help arrange cabs/excursions. Would definitely stay again.

We visited Placencia during Tropical Storm Sara (Nov 2024). As we have never been in a tropical storm (snow blizzards are what we are used to), it was a panic when traveling into one with our 2 children. All we ever want is for them to be safe. Tracy was kind to let us check in a couple hours earlier for peace of mind. Thankfully - the storm hit north of us and the weather improved through out our stay. We love the location - watching and listening to the waves facing the Caribbean, and then having the lagoon on the other side. My kids swam every day in the pool, even when it was pouring rain. Rosa, the caretaker, was extremely friendly and helpful. We would 100% stay here again next time we visit. The use of the kayaks was a great perk. We didn’t use the bikes.

Wonderful location, off the beaten path but easy to get to everything. You will want a golf cart. Edwin and his family are lovely.

Host was very accommodative and responsive. She also gave the space that made us feel welcomed and comfortable. There was an issue with random raccoons running around at a place nearby and host went out her way to make sure we made it to the house safely. She also forewarned us about the construction that was happening nearby which I found very respectful and we truly appreciated it. Will recommend and will stay again, Most High’s will.

I had an amazing 10 star experience here - the condo had everything I needed for a very comfortable month-long stay. I felt right at home and very safe. SA, the owner, was very proactive with communication and provided so much helpful info (how to get fresh juice and local meat delivered, which days to visit the produce stands, duty free at the airport, etc). Emma and Edwin, the caretakers, are so friendly and are always available to help. Beyond spending your days on the beach, you can book numerous tours to keep you occupied (scuba, snorkel, cave tubing, Mayan ruins, ziplining, etc). I spent a lot of time just chillin' on the beautiful porch watching the gorgeous sunsets with a Belikin in-hand. If you rent a golf cart or bike, you can easily be in the heart of the town in 5-7 minutes with access to wonderful restaurants, markets and shops. I can't wait to come back when SA is also in town because she'd be a very cool person to hang out with!

So happy we found this place! The location was perfect for us. We walked to town for groceries, dining, gifts and visited the many beaches along the main beach sidewalk. We cooked most days, but the days we would dine out, the food was amazing. Edwin, the property caretaker, was extremely helpful with recommendations and was always available to take us across the canal. He goes out of his way to help us. One day our rental car battery died and Edwin helped us get ahold of the rental company to pick us up because our phones could not make calls in Belize. We were able to use a chat thru whats app to communicate. I hope to come back! What an amazing vacation. Only feedback would be to add a pillow top on the master bedroom king bed. Thank you so much for a great experience.
