Looking for some quiet and solitude our cabin is located in the country sitting on 20 acres of wooded land with walking trails, wildlife, and solitude. But we are still just a short drive to nearby communities for numerous activities to enjoy. We have kayaks and a canoe for rent enjoy an evening on a nearby lake watching the sunset and listening to the loons or enjoy some fishing from the kayak. In the winter enjoy our Outdoor Sauna, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, x-country skiing, or ice fishing.

Our cabin is nestled in a wooded area & is very private. 15 minutes from 3 different towns with Wadena being the biggest. There's a queen bed on the main floor bedroom and a queen bed in the loft bedroom. WIFI/ cable television are available. Can sleep with the windows open or use the air conditioning. Outdoor pets are welcome, no pets inside please. You will have a view of the pond & we see deer on a daily basis. We will supply bedding, bath towels, cooking utensils, plates, cups & silverware.

This home is set up like a duplex with owners occupying the top (we do have 3 young children) and guests having full, private access to the bottom half. Guests are given a private garage and back yard that includes free firewood. Private entry gives access to over 2,200 sq ft of private space that includes a semi-four seasons room with gas fireplace, laundry, and full kitchen. The Maynard Log Cabin was erected by a homesteader after the civil war. We have moved and restored it and made it available for rent. It is off the grid, but it has a complete functioning kitchen, wood stove and sitting room downstairs. There are two antique beds with new mattresses upstairs. There is no electricity but the cabin is furnished with kerosene lanterns. The bathroom facilities consist of wash basins and outhouse. The cabin is surrounded by 40 acres of woods and meadows.

This was our 2nd stay at this cabin, and we loved it again! Soleil is super easy to work with and her place is exactly as described. Beautiful lake view with great fishing right from the dock! Stunning sunrises and a lovely deck to relax on when not fishing or out on the kayaks. Wonderful wildlife sightings rounded out a fantastic weekend! Thank you!

Lovely updated cabin that is right on the lake. Unfortunately no air conditioning and it was 95 degrees all weekend. They had wonderful fans that helped. Overall great host and cabin.

We needed a place close to our tiny cabin that had more room for our kids to come and celebrate my wife’s 75th birthday. We brought our pontoon over from our lake and a couple of kayaks. This home had more outdoor toys that added to our fun weekend. The second night everyone slept through the night train coming through. Buchanan lake is a shallow calm lake for a relaxing weekend.

I had an amazing experience at the Boat House. I accidentally booked the wrong date one day ahead but the host was incredibly kind and understanding. They went out of their way to accommodate me by offering another cabin. The place was peaceful, well kept, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax. I highly recommend staying here, not just for the beautiful setting, but for the great people behind it. Thank you again!
