This 1-bedroom, 1-bath home is just one block south of Main Street and a few blocks west of the Arkansas River. The bungalow has just the basics for those looking to unplug for a bit. This affordable option was originally built as railroad worker housing, and I bought it as a raft guide/teacher over 15 years ago, and used it as my first home and base for adventure. Now I love sharing it with others. Rustic and affordable- for those who don't need fancy, but like being close to town

New place to stay

Propst Mountain Ranch House

Our stay at Vista Point in Buena Vista was incredible! It was the perfect spot for our large family celebration with plenty of room to spread out. Each bedroom has a king size bed, yet doesn’t feel crowded at all. The view from the living room of the mountain range is nothing less than spectacular & the front deck fireplace table was a great feature for the cool nights. The bathrooms were spotless & the kitchen was well stocked; they even had a few serving items that suited our big group very well. The location is just a short drive to downtown & a great location for daily activities on the river, lakes & mountains in the surrounding area. Would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay - home was clean and well appointed, the provided coffee was delicious, and the location was perfect for access to Buena Vista, hot springs, and St Elmo. Beds are nice, firm enough but not too firm, and there are extra blankets if it gets chilly. The views were so beautiful. Great stop along the way on a road trip! If you are light sensitive, consider bringing an eye mask. If you’re adults thinking about sharing the bunk bed, that may not work out - but we belatedly found that they had provided an air mattress! Hosts are super responsive. Would rebook in a heartbeat. Thank you for the lovely stay!

Ponderosa on Chalk Creek with Game Room

This was an incredible home! I have five children and finding a place for seven people is often a challenge. Everyone had adequate sleeping space, there were ample bathrooms (hello!), and the kitchen was FULLY stocked with enough pots, pans, and dishes so that we could easily feed our family. The kids especially enjoyed the foosball and pool tables, board and card games, and DVD selection (although we had to teach them how to use a DVD player haha). Every morning we woke up to turkeys and deer in our yard, and every evening we enjoyed the deck at the creek. Don't hesitate to snag this place. We have told our friends and family about this location and plan to return again. Thanks to our incredible hosts who ensured that we had every need met.

My daughter‘s wedding was held at Deer Valley Ranch. The rental of Owl’s Nest was absolutely a perfect location for the parents of the bride. We were able to walk over to where the main events were very easily and go through the back door of the lodge. Owl’s Nest was a wonderful retreat for us and our daughter, son-in-law and their three very little children. They were plenty of games and things for the kids to do. Matthew even arranged to have a pack and play at the cabin for us when we arrived. The kitchen was very impressive and upscale. The master bath was fit for a queen and very spacious. I wish we could’ve stayed longer.
