We absolutely loved our time here and only wish we could have stayed longer. The setting is incredibly peaceful, with breathtaking views in every direction—perfect for relaxing and taking in the beauty of Iceland’s countryside. One of the highlights was getting to visit with the adorable sheep and their lambs, as well as the playful goats and their kids. It was such a joy to watch them and learn about life on the farm. The hosts were so welcoming and made us feel right at home, giving us the freedom to explore and enjoy the surroundings. In the evenings, we loved cozying up in the comfortable house and gazing out at the vast, quiet landscape. It truly felt like a retreat from the world. If you’re looking for an authentic Icelandic countryside experience with kind hosts, incredible animals, and stunning views, this is the place! Highly recommend staying more than one night—you won’t want to leave.

This place was adorable! My friends and I couldn't stay very long but really loved our limited there. I loved the remoteness of this house.

Jóhanna's house was our favourite accommodation in Iceland. Breathtaking views, cozy atmosphere and warm host could describe best this experience. They even helped us source fresh fish from the area which was superb. We will definitely repeat!

This was a lovely house surrounded by beautiful scenery. The house is interesting because it was a family home with the original decor. It has everything you could possibly need and There are hiking trails a short drive near the house.

Amazing stay, water was plenty hot, kitchen was beautiful, all around amazing stay.

Great location for exploring the northeast region. Popular spots aren't too far away, the views are amazing, and the home is very cozy. My gf and I really enjoyed our stay.

Emma's place was fantastic! Very spacious and had a full kitchen with everything you need to cook a meal. Loved having the washer midway through our trip to some laundry for the remaining half. The neighborhood was beautiful and felt very peaceful and safe.

If you’re looking for a peaceful remote location in comfortable surroundings this is the place. As described, it’s 30 km on a gravel road, and will be a bit difficult in winter weather, so don’t plan to leave the valley on a daily basis at those times. However, the atmosphere is part and parcel of this, and I’ll be glad to go back someday. Also, Oskar was very concerned and helpful about making sure we knew when road conditions were slippery, and was willing to hook us up with locals if we were concerned about getting out (which we were not).

Das Apartment ist modern und gut ausgestattet mit allem, was man braucht. Der Hund der Familie hat uns freundlich begrüßt und uns auch beim Frühstück auf der Terrasse Gesellschaft geleistet - der Blick über das Tal in der Morgensonne war herrlich!

Pretty nice stay for 5 people. We had a great time with the TV and the nice sofa bed.

Een heel fijn huisje om te verblijven die van alle gemakken is voorzien. Om het huisje te bereiken moet je 10 minuten over een gravelweg.

We absolutely loved our stay here! It’s the perfect location on a beautiful street! The loft was warm and cozy and had everything we needed. The heated bathroom floor was an extra nice touch too!

Ich bin diesmal allein gereist und hatte das große Glück, längere Zeit in dieser wunderschönen Unterkunft zu wohnen. Vom ersten Tag an habe ich mich absolut wohl und zuhause gefühlt. Die Wohnung liegt ruhig, ist modern und mit viel Sorgfalt eingerichtet, makellos sauber und bestens ausgestattet, ideal auch für längere Aufenthalte. Besonders schön: der traumhafte Blick auf den Lagarfljót und die umliegenden Berge. Mit ihrem separaten Eingang und Self-Check-In ist die Wohnung perfekt für alle, die Ruhe schätzen. Gleichzeitig war es schön zu wissen, dass Heiða und Andy mit ihrer Familie im selben Haus leben. Beide sind sehr herzlich, offen und hilfsbereit – und genau im richtigen Maß präsent. Ihre freundliche Art hat meinen Aufenthalt wirklich besonders gemacht. Der Abschied fiel mir entsprechend schwer und ich wäre gern noch geblieben. Vielen lieben Dank für alles, Heiða und Andy. Ich freue mich schon jetzt auf ein Wiedersehen!

The host, Katrin, is very kind. I was happy to receive a warm message when I made the reservation. The room was very relaxing and warm. I can see beautiful mountains from the window. I would like to stay here again.

This is our third year in a row to travel in Iceland, and this is our favorite Airbnb in Iceland. 6 stars if that could be possible!Charming layout. Great kitchen with views of the harbor and the sleeping level above was cleverly arranged. For some the tight spiral staircase might be a deal breaker. And it is an adventure to navigate in the middle of the night! We were also charmed by this town. Breakfast next door at the Foodcoop was excellent as well.

Nous avions les appartements 1 et 2. Les appartements communiquent donc idéal pour une famille jusqu’à 6 personnes. Je n’ai pas trouvé la machine à laver indiqué sur l’annonce, dommage.

Highly recommend Maríanna’s place! It’s just like the photos on the listing, very clean, modern new build. Convenient parking in the front of the unit. It’s attached to the main house but separate entrance and the insulation is great you can’t hear anything or anyone else. Beds are comfortable and linens/ towels provided were very clean. Maríanna and their co-host were responsive and accommodating. We read some of the other reviews noting the lack of windows. There’s a large horizontal window that is above or at eye level depending on how tall you are. And the window is large enough that sufficient light comes thru. We were visiting during the summer months, so if the 13 hours of sunlight is an issue the windows have blackout blinds. This spot is super close to a lovely reindeer rescue and Vök baths. (:

We had a great stop on our 2 week Ring road trip in Iceland. Great hosts and would recommend highly. Well equipped kitchen and washing machine is a real bonus on a road trip.

Renovations were very nice. Very clean. Would definitely stay again. Bring your own shower soaps etc, none provided.
