Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Mirror Lake

Had a nice 3 day weekend at the yurt with my girlfriend and dog. The yurt was nice and cozy. The skylight at the top was nice for looking at the sky at night. We cooked every meal there and found the kitchen had all the cookware and utensils we needed. The flow of the brook provides nice background noise for outdoor fires. Had a great time and it was a good basecamp for lots of activities in the area.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Our stay with Pat could not have been better! She was a gracious, most helpful, and highly responsive host. The house was easy to find and CLEAN. Inside is everything you could possibly need, and then some. All of downtown is easily accessible and within walking distance. Our group included four adults and three teenage kids and were comfortable. We arrived to cookies and a handwritten note. You don't find that type of kindness anymore! We would absolutely return.

I went for a winter trip with my family. The place is really well located. Extremely clean. Had all the amenities that I needed.

Wow, this place was a stunning find for us. Quite simply a peaceful wooded oasis with a breathtaking view of Lake Champlain. The house is clean, spacious, and accommodating. The little things like toys for our son, the pool table, and Adirondack chairs made us feel right at home. We enjoyed taking the Plattsburgh Ferry to Vermont, playing badminton in the yard, watching the sunrise on the porch, and cooking in the spacious kitchen. Marco was an incredible host and we will definitely stay again at this lovely house.

Greg’s home is spacious yet cozy, a true home away from home. Gorgeous kitchen and living areas, comfy bedrooms, and lovely property, and just minutes away from beautiful Mirror Lake and the town - our family of four had a wonderful and relaxing stay. Greg was immediately responsive, kind and accommodating. We will definitely be back, thank you Greg!

Our group had an all-around incredible experience at this house. The location is unbeatable, the property was beautiful and the hosts were very attentive. I hope to stay here again on my next trip to beautiful Lake Placid!

The thought Jodi has put into her place is remarkable! Not only is it tastefully decorated but it is practically fully stocked with just about anything you could need! It is local to almost all attractions my family and I were interested in. It comfortably housed my family of 3 plus our puppy. My puppy was a big fan of the dog bed and dog toys that Jodi had there already. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the Lake Placid area! I am hoping to make a return trip!

I wish I could give Deb and Doug 1000 stars! The apartment was amazing, truly a home away from home! The kitchen was STOCKED with everything you would need from a waffle maker, pans, to coffee/tea, to eggs! Deb even made us homemade gingerbread cookies which were DELICIOUS. Two out of the four days that we stayed, we actually made breakfast and ate in the dining room! And saw hummingbirds out of the window!! The living room was super cozy and we made great use of the electric fireplace (The weather was still in the 50s when we went). It also had a very comfy sofa bed which I slept on while my parents took the bedroom. They said their bed was super comfy too! There was even a noise machine in the bedroom along with some fans (they really thought of everything!). The apartment was also incredibly quiet and private. And we honestly didn't even pay much mind to the low ceilings. We're all around 5'7" and we had absolutely no issues! We cant wait to visit again, we will definitely be back!

Absolutely wonderful as far as location (we never needed our car during our stay as everything we wanted/needed was within walking distance). Steve (host) gave wonderful recommendations for eateries and hiking spots. The apt was comfortable and Keurig with kpods was much appreciated for our AM coffee. Will definitely be back

Devon's place was perfect for my visit to Saranac Lake as it is a short walk into town and provided a parking spot for my car w/ kayak on top. The apartment would be great for a couple or with a couple kiddos or others willing to share a walk-through bedroom into the queen bed bedroom. The queen bed was very comfortable and the bedroom and kitchen had AC which was nice to have. Kitchen and bathroom well-equipped. The linens were comfortable and towels good + plentiful. There are several flights of stairs and a clawfoot bathtub to step in/out of (w/ shower) so you should be comfortable managing those. Devon was super-communicative and I enjoyed meeting and chatting briefly w/ her and she was very generous in enabling me to stay an extra night. Would definitely look to stay here again should I be fortunate enough to return. The nearby paddling is phenomenal, the apartment is steps away from the rail trail, and Lake Placid is less than 20 minutes away by car.

We had a great time staying here again— this is a spotless, well-maintained apartment close to all the winter sports and hiking available in and around Lake Placid—a quick trip to Whiteface as well. Communication with Carlo is always easy and fast. It’s a perfect place for a couple looking for a winter getaway!

This unit is in a great location, close to the main street in Lake Placid. The photos accurately show the unit. The living room furniture is quite comfortable.

I couldn’t be happier with Rebecca’s Airbnb. Even more important, she is an amazing host. She is kind and welcoming and incredibly responsive and thoughtful. The apartment itself is quiet, clean, and has everything needed to feel right at home. Highly recommend.

Gary's place had everything we needed for our ski vacation in Lake Placid! The location is very convenient and the view towards the mountain is beautiful. We truly enjoyed our stay and will happily return.

Lana was a great host and showed us around the place when we checked in. She let us check in sooner than planned which was great after a long travel day. The place was quiet, serene and comfortable. The showers were "amazing". My husband is over 6ft tall, so it's hard to find showers he can fit in comfortably. The beds were comfortable and the space was perfect. I'm not a fan of leather and that's all there was to sit on on the living room but I completely get why that's what is used, especially in an Airbnb with spills and germs for cleaning purposes. I just used a blanket to sit on, problem solved. She is doing some renovations and explained the new amenities coming soon. I would definitely recommend. Many thanks for a great experience.

This was a great stay in a nice location just off the main street of Lake Placid!

Condo matches the pictures, but the view is far better than the pictures. Very comfortable space and open floor plan. Kitchen was well stocked, we cooked in a couple nights and had everything we needed to prep meals. Having three full bathrooms was great (we had 4 adults and two kids). Easy walk to the middle of town and all the restaurants/shops, but far enough away that it didn’t feel busy. Coffee on the balcony was an amazing way to start the day. We’ve been going to lake placid for 20+ years and have stayed many places - this is one of the best views we’ve had while still being right in the village. Highly recommended.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Kathy's! The place was very clean and comfortable, and there was plenty of room for the 6 of us. The kitchen was well stocked, and all linens were fresh. The location was very convenient to all that Lake Placid has to offer but also removed just enough to have some quiet time away from the bustle of all the shops. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Lake Placid in the future. I highly recommend!

This spot was so much bigger than we expected! It had everything we needed and it was soooo cozy! The walk to Lisa G’s was so short - it was amazing. The basement was awesome since we had kids and they had their own area to hang and everything was so quiet - we couldn’t hear each other or them through the walls or on different floors. It was very comfy, large, and the location was perfect!

Our friend group was looking for a place to stay close to the whiteface mountain and we got super lucky to find Jo’s house! Beautiful house, stylish & super cozy - we felt like at home right away! All this in addition to beautiful surroundings made our trip an unforgettable experience! Each bedroom had a private bathroom and a common bathroom on the first floor which was amazing for a group of 6 people. Showers deserve an additional mention - it was definitely a calming and relaxing experience! Jo is an amazing host. Communication was great, we were given a lot of recommendations about local “must-visit” places. The host is super responsive, kind and understanding! Overall, it was an unforgettable experience at Jo’s place and hopefully we can go there again in the future! we highly recommend it!!

My husband and I had a lovely stay and the host RJ made sure all our needs were met. We would love to come back in the summer and see some more of Lake Placid from RJ’s little piece of heaven.
