This cottage is in the country! 2 lane curvy hilly roads. Mountain roads nearby. I can't do anything about the roads out here.

This place is so cool. Attention to detail was great. The property is so quiet and peaceful. The wood burning jacuzzi is pretty awesome. Experienced a little rain and the sound of the rain on the glacé was so relaxing. Definitely a great place to relax and reconnect with your significant other.

This was the perfect place to relax!! The sunsets and scenery around the cabin are better in person than in the pictures posted. My husband and I were there to celebrate our 35th anniversary. We enjoyed slow mornings with breakfast on the front porch overlooking the valley. Sight seeing each day and then getting back early enough to enjoy the sunset in the hot tub. We enjoyed exploring the Desoto Falls area and Little River Canyon. We drove to Chattanooga and visited Rock City and Ruby Falls. Angie was so sweet to make us a reservation at The Elevation Bistro. Elevation is a quaint little restaurant with an outstanding chef. My favorite was the French onion soup and my husband loved his hamburger. We both thought the pecan praline bread pudding was next level. This was probably the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation I’ve had in a while. Spend the extra money on a good view….its well worth it!!

This location is absolutely gorgeous. We have wanted to visit for a long time and I couldn’t imagine a better place to experience the Cloudland area. There are multiple state parks near by and Mentone is a cute, artsy neighboring town. The weather changed each day and we experienced a different version of beauty each day in the backyard overlook. We would absolutely visit again. Thank you for having us.

We completed our second stay at Moonlake Lodge in February 2025 and again we had a wonderful, relaxing trip! The cabin is in a nice and secluded, private location with a great view. Our boys love playing in the clearing, walking up and down the driveway looking for cool rocks. We thoroughly enjoy the wood burning fireplace, well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. The cabin is only a 15 minute drive to Mentone, AL which we visit the Mentone Market daily for good food and pizza! Ft. Payne is not far either for food and shopping needs. We love visiting Cloudland Canyon, Little River Canyon and DeSoto Falls which are all within 20-25 minutes. We do plan to visit again.

We stayed in two different "rooms" on back-to-back nights, copying this review for both of them. Amazing space, right out of the Studio Ghibli universe. Meticulous detail in every aspect, and a one-of-a-kind space that we're lucky to be able to drive to. Easy parking, and once the door shut behind us, we were off in another world. Room for 2 adults and 2 kids to experience the magic. We watched our favorite Ghibli movies and some new ones, all provided, and enjoyed the in-room scavenger hunts and opt-in "extras". We had a blast, and tears were shed having to leave. No cooking is allowed in-room, but we planned ahead and there are a few local restaurants a short drive away. We spent the day with a day-hike to the waterfalls at Cloudland Canyon. If any of the Ghibli movies speak to your heart, you owe this place a a visit.
