This impressive building was a former music school, which has been renovated and turned into stunning private duplex apartments. This ensemble is more than a century old and has some very typical Belgian features with terraces, gardens, red bricks and metal beams. This beautiful home is very quiet and has a lot of lights flowing in. It comes with a large open kitchen fully equipped, bed linen and towels are provided as well. Digital TV and Wifi are available. Bedroom with king size box-spring. The bookshelves offer a nice choice of travel guides in English and Philosophy readings in Dutch! From there, you can walk to the main square where the weekly (Saturday before 13h00) fresh market is located with a wonderful choice of vegetables, fruits, flowers and other local products. The main train station is also accessible, Brussels and Antwerp are only 20 mn away with direct lines. A place for bikes is available, a local supermarket is also nearby as well as relaxing cafes and restaurants. Finally, the National Airport of Zaventem can be reached in 15 mn by taxi when there is no traffic.

Int hart van Mechelen.

Je kan slapen in een pas gerenoveerde studio op 1 van de oudst bewaarde gangetjes van Mechelen. Je slaapt in het midden van het centrum, maar in een rustig straatje. Waar je als je buiten zit de muziek van de bijaard kan horen. Het is op 500m van de Sinte Mette tuin. 500m van de IJzerleen waar tal van ontbijt barretjes zijn. 15 min wandelen van het groot station. Parking lamot of grote markt op 5min wandelen. De ideale ligging voor je verblijf in Mechelen.

Wonderful place in the city center, close to everything. Communication with the host was very pleasant, the room was super comfortable, the mezzanine made it feel extremely spacious and the communal kitchen was very clean. Would definitely recommend!

I stayed at Griet's for a week while visiting Mechelen for a conference. The attic room is peaceful, comfortable, and like a little cottage atop of her house - private yet still connected through shared hallways, bathroom, and a gorgeous backyard. Griet was communicative and flexible with check in, supplied me with eggs from her chickens, and a powerful fan when the weather got very hot for a few days. She took time to talk with me about Mechelen and Belgium, and social issues in the world. Much of the time I was in and out of my room without much interaction, but openness to conversation and exchange really brightened my days. This was hands down one of my favorite experiences facilitated through AirBnB.

Renata is supervriendelijk en helpt proactief meedenken aan oplossingen (mijn fiets). Het appartement is kraaknet en ze benadrukte meermaals dat ik mocht doen zoals thuis. Dit is echt een aanrader als je een kamer zoekt in het centrum van Mechelen.

We had a wonderful time in this place. Dirk and his wife are super friendly and really good hosts. Everything was exactly as written in the subscription and the rooms are big and clean. We had our own space and still had opportunities to chat with the host. I would always recommend this place for a short visit in Belgium. Thanks a lot for the great time.

Ubicada en una zona residencial muy verde, muy arbolada, con las ventajas del tram, metro y buses, a unos pasos del alojamiento. Es una doble experiencia, la de conocer Bruselas y la de acercarte un poco al estilo de vida de los habitantes de esta ciudad que ofrece todo. Midori muy atenta y su casa un reflejo fiel de una mujer delicada y muy viajera. Si muy recomendable sobre todo a los que no gustan de conocer una ciudad, un país…en un día!
