Monthly Rentals in Matapalo

Maria and Guillermo’s place was amazing for the price, we had stayed for a month. Maria was extremely helpful and attentive to any need we had. However, I will say the place had some holes that we had shoved paper towels into and a gap under the door that we had to roll up a towel to help keep the bugs and critters out (and there were a lot of bugs and critters until we did this). But also Maria gave us some bug spray to kill off the bugs which was nice. Also, the map shows that this place is closer than it actually is to playas del coco but is still a walkable distance within 20-25 mins to the town but is in a real local area. There are a few small hills so even with our bicycles it was a challenge to get around. Uber/taxi was unreliable during rainy season so getting around was a little difficult from back there at times. Overall a great stay especially if you have a car or some sort of transportation to get around!

We are very satisfied with our choice. The condo was clean and had everything we needed to cook meals. The morning coffee om the veranda overlooking Coco Bay was the highlight of my vacation. We will certainly be returning!

Our family of 3 had a wonderful stay at Casa Emy! Emy goes above and beyond to make her guest house welcoming (it is well-equipped!), and she went above and beyond to help us feel at home and provide local recommendations. She lives right next door, so when the dryer in our house didn’t work, she even took all of laundry and returned it dried AND folded! She was really a wonderful host! Both times we went for a swim at the pool, we had it to ourselves. We loved being close to the airport (35 minutes) for the last couple nights of our Costa Rican adventure, and also within a reasonable distance of multiple beaches. Thank you, Emy!

It’s hard not to start by mentioning the hosts—Julie and Francis are incredibly friendly, welcoming, available, and proactive. They go above and beyond to ensure that your stay is as enjoyable as possible. The apartment itself is brand new, spotless, practical, and equipped with everything you need—and all with great taste! It’s perfect for a couple or a solo traveler looking to explore Coco, its beaches, and activities. I will definitely be back without a doubt! I recommend it 200%. Thank you!
