Beachfront vacation rentals in Matala

we had a lovely week at Maria's place. The covered terrace is the most beautiful room in the house with beautiful sea views. The beach is less than 5 minutes' walk, but beware, for people who have difficulty walking, the slope is rather steep to climb. Maria is very responsive and responds very quickly to messages. Agia Pelagia remains a small seaside resort in a great location for visiting the north of the island. Beautiful discovery

Beautiful, clean, and very responsive. The stay was as advertised. This home is well maintained, comfortable , and close to everything.

Perfect location, 20m to the beach, many restaurants, friendly people, parking spot bit tricky but never more than 200m. Communication perfect, very proactive. Exactly as the pictures shows.

Beautiful place, great for families. Lots of toys and even a potty for the kids! Cleaner came mid week which was not necessary but so great. Beach is a 3 min walk. Really need a car to get there which was fine for us! Thanks for everything.

Great place. Great location. Kitchen was a bit small for the size of the space, but very workable. Air conditioning on the first level for the common space didn’t work (we notified the owner but were told we were wrong - we weren’t). But that didn’t really affect our stay. If the weather was hotter I could see it being an issue. But overall, we really enjoyed the rental.

Had a great time here! Vasilis was very accommodating and the place came as expected. Clean, great views of the water, and centrally located to the shops and restaurants in town. Highly recommend!

Alkis was an amazing host! He went above and beyond with helpful directions and recommendations. Daily check-ins and lots of cleaning via whats app, to ensure we were happy. He even helped navigate the streets by piloting us through some closed roads when we went anywhere, many thanks Alkis.

Excellent experience - 5 stars across the board! If you're looking for a quiet exclusive place to stay, that offers all amenities for a great price - this is it. High quality furnishings, perfectly clean, super friendly and attentive host, amazing location just a few steps from the beach, basically no traffic - all you hear is the ambient sound of the sea, great restaurants close by,... the list goes on. Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful villa! The house is truly luxurious, in perfect condition, and tastefully designed with great attention to detail. The layout of the rooms is simply brilliant — spacious, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing and spending quality time together. The heated pool was one of our favorite features — always at the perfect temperature to cool down and unwind at any time of the day. The location couldn’t be better: just a few minutes’ walk to the beach, where you’ll find plenty of great restaurants, cafes, and shops. A very special thank you to our amazing hosts! They were incredibly warm, welcoming, and always just a message away. Every little question or request was answered within minutes — we felt truly taken care of from the very first moment. We had a fantastic stay at this villa in Crete! The location was absolutely perfect—centrally positioned on the island, it made exploring both the east and west sides, as well as all the nearby towns, super convenient. The house itself had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and supported throughout our visit. The grounds were impeccably maintained and much larger than the photos portray. One of the highlights was the charming taverna right next door, and there were plenty of other great restaurants less than 10 minutes away by car. The warm hospitality from everyone we met made it feel like a true home away from home. We can’t wait to return one day and would wholeheartedly recommend this villa to anyone planning a trip to Crete.

What a wonderful place! If you are stressed by work, in need of something peaceful, extremely beautiful and in harmony with the nature, this is the right place for you. Don't miss the opportunity to stay here, meeting the cute cats ( please feed them :), enjoy the surrondings and if you like to swim, the beach just 10 minutes walking distance is perfect for you. I swam 5 kilometers and enjoyed after that the beautiful bar and restaurant close to the house. RECOMMENDED!

Highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking to stay in the area. The house was exactly as described and as pictured in the listing. Antonis was a great host and went above and beyond in many ways (helping with directions, providing local recommendations, leaving welcome treats and even giving us a departure gift). The house had everything you need and the pool was incredible. The town and beaches were also amazing!

A truly breathtaking and secluded place. The house is beautifully decorated, with carefully chosen furniture and plenty of natural light and well-placed lighting in the evenings. Every morning, we were treated to a lovely homemade breakfast from Emanuela, along with Italian coffee 👌🏼 A perfect start to the day. Emanuela is an amazing host and a wonderful person. Our baby, Ellie, was immediately comfortable with her. Communication with Gianni was smooth and he replies quickly. You don’t need a 4x4 to reach this haven. The view is indescribable, absolutely breathtaking. My husband especially loved it as a tranquil, inspiring place to write. Thank you to Emanuela and Giani for a wonderful stay we’ll always remember. Highly recommended! Just book it, don’t think twice! ;-)

Noble apartment with plenty of space. Within a new building area with sea view in the second row. Villas around it are still being completed, but also look unfinished chic because of the natural stone. Good beds! Quiet area. Everything available for self-catering: kitchen large and perfect. Elisabeth takes excellent care of the property and the guests. Restaurants and location within walking distance. We'd love to come back!

Very nice Villa and very friendly host. Her father is also living there and takes care of the garden. You can park there easily. The equipment and stuff that is available is as promised in the description. Location is actually not right next to the beach, but 10-15mins by foot, but by car it’s only 2mins. The beach there is amazing. The water is quite flat for a while, which is nice for playing in the water and probably for kids. Also the restaurants (especially Seven) there are really good and have a good price.

I loved the tiny house, every millimetre, it’s across the road from the shepherds caravan and you are lightly woken by him calling the goats in the morning. Wonderful. The cliffs are covered with wild thyme and the scent mingles with the sea breeze bringing another sensory tweak to the exceptional surroundings. From the moment you cross the mountain peak you are greeted with a never to forget 180 degree view of the deep blue Libyen Sea, that literally is on your terrace of the property. There are two empty beaches at the foot of the cliffs, but two cafes and a slightly busier beach in the village if you prefer. It’s an unspoiled paradise, on Sunday you can hear the monks song and the bells echoing up from the village. We only spent three nights in Tris Eklieses, but it will remain with me forever as a really unique experience. Outside of peak season the village supermarket is closed the nearest one is about 1/2 an hours drive away, I envy the owners, it’s a very special place. THX4ALL.

Super clean and cozy apartment. We felt very comfortable from start to finish. Our host Panagiotis was always friendly and reliable. Supermarkets, different restaurants and the beach were within walking distance and around the property you always found a (free) parking space. Clear recommendation for anyone who wants to travel to the beautiful Agia Galini 👍🏻

A real little piece of heaven! We had an unforgettable stay in this ideally located home, literally on the water. The setting is exceptional, with stunning sea views from the terrace — a dream come true from the moment you wake up. The accommodation is perfectly equipped, very clean, tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. The host was warm, responsive, and thoughtful throughout our stay. Every detail is designed to make you feel at home, but better! Between sunrise swims, sunset aperitifs, and the serenity of the place, it was simply magical. We'll be back without hesitating. Niki and Cristos were really lovely and friendly hosts. Fresh flowers, homemade biscuits and cake, wine etc were provided and left in the apartment. The apartment was bright and clean. They treated us as family and really made us feel at home. Surrounded by the most amazing mountains. Beautiful people on beautiful Bali. What more could you ask for? Eif charisto! Very nice studio overlooking the sea and mountains. There is another studio for rent in the same house right next door and an apartment downstairs. The landlady is very nice and made sure we didn't miss anything. The place was very clean and you can walk to the beach, or to the taverns in the village. However, a car is an advantage (parking right in front of the house).
