Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Manawatū-Whanganui Region

We had a wonderful few days stay with Alice and Calvyn, who were both incredibly helpful and welcoming. A great place and very centrally located. We would happily stay again if we are in Whanganui. Sharon and Don

Barb and Mike are amazing hosts and we had a lovely and comfortable stay at Tongariro Adventures. The national park is only a short drive away. The waterfront is a few steps away and there are amazing trails around the area. Barb and Mike’s place exceeded our expectations and their hospitality made us feel very welcome. Also, top marks for the amazing breakfast!!

I normally leave 5 stars because everything is fine or as expected, but I would leave this place 6 stars if I could. It’s far and away the best AirBnB I have stayed at. The place itself is very tranquil, homey and a great spot to unwind, yet also only 5 minutes into town for restaurants. Melana was such a great host from offering a welcome drink and snack, to giving local restaurant suggestions, to providing a choice of hot breakfast in the morning. I only stayed one night, but would definitely seek her place out again the next time I’m back in the area.

Tony’s place was awesome. Tony was super welcoming and place is nicely located. Tony got a regular from now on.

Absolutely lovely B&B after the Timber Trail. Many of the timber trail guides up in Ongarue seem to live in the area and are therefore happy to give a ride. The room was clean, comfortable, and nice artifacts and decor around the house, which feels like a French manor. (Also 3 friendly cats and a dog, and breakfast waiting for us downstairs in the morning.)

Such a peaceful place to stay. The surrounding countryside is beautiful - best viewed from the spa! We were very comfortable and definitely recommend to others.

Beautiful getaway experience! Amazing views, green grass, yummy breakfast and loved the private spa! The only thing the chalets need are privacy screens between each other to ensure extra privacy as you can see directly into another’s chalet/porch area

We had a very pleasant overnight stay.Dirk & Louise were there to greet us & made us feel very welcome. It was a chilly evening & they had the room heated for us. We had a peaceful & good sleep.The next morning they were there to say goodbye.The breakfast was nice & we would have no hesitation in returning.Thank you Dirk & Louise

She was so accommodating. Both very, very kind people. Peaceful place and the most beautiful gardens. And she had everything you could possibly ask for breakfast! I feel like they should charge more money. The bedroom also had its own little hang out spot with its own mini fridge as well!

Meg's house is really nice and cozy! We received a warm welcome, and it was great to have a late-night chat upon our arrival. We spent the rest of the day relaxing by the fireplace — such a perfect way to unwind

Very friendly an helpful hosts and a lovely rural setting in the country. Very friendly dogs Winston and Lexi (who loved her frisby throwing). Enjoyable stay.

I stayed at the Gumnut B&B for just two nights on a road trip through Whanganui. The guest space is large enough to be an apartment because there is a lounge and dining room as well as a bedroom and dedicated bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and generous. I spent my first afternoon on the porch enjoying the cool breeze and pleasant weather with views of the garden. The neighborhood is quiet at night and felt safe. I walked into downtown to explore Whanganui. Maryann and Barry were friendly hosts and Maryann stopped to chat with me when she had time. I recommend staying at the Gumnut B&B and I would gladly stay again.

we had a very comfortable stay in Janice's lovely house. the room had a heat pump, electric blankets and lovely linen. we were welcomed with a look around the house and a drink by the fire just chatting. enjoyed the buzz and meal at the Station Hotel in Hunterville. great stop on the drive through to wellington.

I love this place; both Gary & Penny's sweeeet home and beautiful Taupo! Though weather wasn't good, warm hospitality made my honeymoon the best of best; Room was clean with dedicated bathroom & bedroom, a wonderfull shared spaces with everything. Surely it's better option to take Gary & Penny's home rather than other hotels nearby Taupo downtown. Wish all the best to Gary & Penny!!😍❤️👍👍👍

We really enjoyed our stay at Fran’s. Very private and lovely rooms. We especially loved the great breakfast selection. Easy contactless entry to the rooms and peaceful location. Fran is very friendly and accomodating. We would stay there again if ever we travelled back to the Manawatu.

We had such a lovely stay at Charlotte and Stephen’s place. Perfect layout for what we needed. Gorgeous swimming pool and hot tub. We bought our 2.5yr old and they were very good with him and happy for him to roam. We had a lovely room and although the house is lovely and big, everything was in close enough proximity to be able to put the baby to bed and take the baby monitor to the dining area and games room while he slept. Perfect! Our boy loved the pool. The room was spotless and the bed extremely comfy, I would have taken the bed home if I could. We also payed extra for the lovely means and so glad we did so as the food was perfect. Such a relaxing stay, we are sure to return. Thank you!

Rob and Lindsay were excellent hosts and were so welcoming during our stay. Their house is located in a peaceful and beautiful area a short drive from Taupo. They went above and beyond to ensure it was an amazing experience. I can't recommend them highly enough and look forward to staying with them again in the future. This was my first time staying at Karen's home, and I was struck by how clean, comfortable, and warm it felt. Whenever we had a small question, we could easily reach Karen by phone, and she was always there to support us. She clearly puts a lot of heart into running this homestay, bringing a sense of warmth to her guests. This was the first time I truly felt a sense of "home" while staying at a homestay. Thank you to Karen and her family.

We loved staying at Kilmoylan. Heather is a fantastic, welcoming host and the room was spotless and beautiful, with a very comfortable bed. The location is beautiful, private and peaceful. We will definitely be back.

Quiet and peaceful. A relaxing place to rest after our busy days harvesting at a local vineyard. Neta is a wonderful host. Highly recommend. The home cooked breakfast each day was awesome. Martin is a great host, super friendly and accommodating, he also gave us recommendations to stop for our onward travel. Lovely house - comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and breakfast stuff was laid out for us. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.
