Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Madison County

Holy fireflies! Went to this spot to propose to my girlfriend, and the amount of fireflies added a magical touch. Couple that with a beautiful sunset, great view of the stars, and lightning storm over the mountains, I couldn't have planned for a better spot. You could easily view the big dipper and scorpio constellations from this spot. Very clean and a fun drive to get there! Only downside was the fire pit not working, but I attribute that to the previous night's rainstorm. Would recommend bringing a lighter just in case. Otherwise such a magical spot that we'll always remember. Obviously she said yes, but thank you for all the extras! Even used the chess set pieces as props for my proposal, thank you! Everyone should scope this pad.

Very beautiful rental! It totally met all of our needs of 8. The views and sunsets were amazing from the deck. We will definitely book this again if we are in the area. The location was perfect for us, 20 min from Asheville, 20 min from wedding venue In Benardsville, the Hawk and Hawthorne. Sincerely, the Hatterer's, Urich's, Yannella's and Hawthorns's

We loved our short stay here! The house is lovely, and it’s located in such a beautiful and serene corner of the woods. There was plenty of gorgeous wildlife to see outdoors, and the indoor spaces were cozy, spacious, stylish, and inviting. The house is also only about 4 minutes away from a provisions store, so it’s not so remote that you feel 100% disconnected from civilization, in case you forgot to pack something important or just need a morning coffee. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful home tucked into a peaceful little corner of the mountains. The house has all of the basics covered. The waterfalls in front of the house are beautiful and provide a constant white noise that I found to be very peaceful. However, the roar is surprisingly loud. The home is very automated (Alexa to control the lights, motioned sensing trash can, etc.) which I guess can be a pro or a con depending on preference. We especially loved all of the deck space! And I loved all of the windows that brought in a ton of natural light.

We loved staying at the Burley Stick Farm House. It was a perfect home base for exploring the local area for some first time visitors to the region. It was super close in proximity to the venue of the wedding we attended. We loved observing the wildlife - turkeys and cicadas - and felt very welcomed and at home. The house is super cute and comfortable - perfect and exactly what we needed for a weekend getaway.

This house is amazing: A spa-like retreat with lots to do and many places to relax! We brought our teen daughter and friends and they fell in love with the place! Instead of going out in Asheville the second night, they stayed in to enjoy the hot tub, the red light sauna, the fire pit, and the cozy basement “theater”. Located close to Asheville and Weaverville. We loved the location, but more so, the house itself! Owners were very responsive and helpful!

I loved staying at Weaverville house! It was such a beautiful place. I loved the natural light from all the windows it was so peaceful to wake up to. The kitchen was a perfect size with everything I needed to cook a couple quick meals. I love how they added a little seating area outside; it was a great place to sit, the view is amazing, the property was beautiful, clean and comfortable. I didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back with our dogs as the proper is very dog friendly. I really loved it everything about my stay, worth every penny! Thanks

Cheryl’s place is such a peaceful little oasis! The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. We loved interacting with Cheryl, her husband, and their farm animals in the morning. It was a great stay and we would definitely come back.

This lovely place is a gem! We have stayed at many Airbnbs and Deborah's please stands out for how responsive she was as a host while completely respecting our privacy, how beautiful and spacious the place was, and how spotlessly clean and inviting they made it. We enjoyed cooking in the open kitchen, which had everything we needed. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom felt like a luxury hotel. I really can't say enough great things about the place, they have put a lot of thought and care into making it a great experience. And it's only 20 minutes to Asheville! Highly recommended!

Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing We’ve stayed in Airbnbs from Florida to Alaska and everywhere in between but this is one of, if not the cleanest place I’ve stayed in. The hosts are great and easy to communicate with and you are 10mins away from anything you might need. Highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

Beautiful and peaceful place to relax and get away from everything but close to Asheville and other areas I wanted to visit. Very well put together and thought out. I enjoyed the swing on the back porch in the mornings. The spa like bathroom is also very relaxing. For this trip, I was on my own and appreciated that there was a secluded feeling but the owners were above and available if needed. Everything I needed for a peaceful get away was provided. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

A most beautiful view and such spacious lodging. I would sleep with the window open and fall asleep to the sound of the river. I was amazed to find out how much history was behind this property. Monisha has a book detailing history and places to go. We did go to the mineral bath which was a restorative experience. I appreciate Monisha advising us to book in advance. I highly recommend this property. A home away from home. 😊 Any questions I had Monisha promptly answered.

We had a wonderful stay at Gabrielle’s. She gave us many suggestions weeks before we got there and was easily accessible once we arrived. The place was very clean and had a lot of amenities. The view was amazing. It was easy to get from her place to many other local attractions that we wanted to see.

We were so lucky to find this place about 2 miles from my Son’s house. After a short ride on some windy, hilly roads (not bad at all) we arrived in a lovely neighborhood. As hosts they were friendly and helpful and more than generous. They supplied breakfast foods, water bottles, and other food stuffs that were more than welcome after a long drive. The Airbnb was spotless and welcoming, bed (master, we didn’t use the other bedroom) was extremely comfortable. Of course the hot tub was a huge bonus that was also a welcomed perk. Barbara and Steve were there when we arrived and were More than gracious. From start to finish our visit was perfect. We felt right at home and access to downtown Weaverville and Asheville was a breeze. We will definitely return.

Our stay at Stephanie’s place, Bear’s Den, was wonderful!! It was beautiful, very clean, and so peaceful. Being in a gated community gave us that extra sense of security. Stephanie was a great host and there were many nice extras. A lint roller, walking sticks, and a picnic basket to name a few. The bed was comfortable and we felt at home in the cozy space. Extra blankets, an easy to use fireplace, and provided coffee were so nice on the chilly mornings. We enjoyed the views of the sunrise and the colors of the evening skies during our stay. It was perfect for our anniversary getaway. We would definitely stay here again.

Spent the memorial day weekend at the Elk view. The condo was spacious with a grand view of the mountain ranges from the porch. The hot tub was an added bonus which was filled as set to a comfortable temperature before we arrived. Inside was cozy and spotless clean. Really a great place to relax and unwind yourself. Would definitely love to come back again!

That view sure doesn't disappoint! The location was outstanding and the condo a perfect spot for a ski vacation at Hatley Pointe. I recommend visiting the resort or at least eat at Smoke & Timber. Sabrina was super responsive to all the messages to troubleshoot issues with appliances and what not. Love how they remodeled the condo. I actually kinda wished it was on the 2nd floor as the upstairs folks were pretty noisy coming in and out. Sounded as if they walked in wearing their ski boots, but was quiet other than that. So many deer in the neighborhood wearing their cute, fuzzy winter coats but easy to get in and out from the interstate. Will definitely return for family get-togethers in the area as the Appalachian trail is one of my bucket list items. What a great area.

Beautiful views and peaceful place in the mountains! We had a wonderful stay here! The only thing I would say is just to pay attention to the listing because there is no air conditioning which for most of the year I know is not necessary! When I booked, I didn’t notice that she had clearly listed that there is no air-conditioning. There are ceiling fans, and one floor powered fan to help circulate the air. The views are amazing from the porch and the porch furniture is fantastic for sitting in the evening in the morning! The apartment has everything you need and is so comfortable! We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again!

Beautiful condo and mountain views. Host extremely responsive and helpful. Responses were super fast, which was great since we reserved at last minute. Nothing was lacking, everything was perfect
