Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Macon County

I loved my stay here. Tanea's home was really clean, spacious, and felt homey. It was peaceful and easy to relax. I loved being able to sit on the porch and have coffee in the mornings and look out on the mountains and watch the animals. Tanea made sure that I would be able to have a comfortable temperature when I arrived and that I would be able to view TV. I appreciated her kindness and thoughtfulness. Her home is a short drive to downtown which made it easy to shop, dine, and sight see, but also far enough away to be relaxing. If I am in the area again, I will most likely stay here again, if it is an option. In some ways, her place sets a new standard for me when I search for accommodations in other areas. Thank you for your hospitality.

Nothing negative to report. 😊😊😊 Cherisse’s place was perfect. Fully stocked with everything needed. Great location. Close to stores and hiking but still so peaceful and quiet. Comfy beds. Comfy vibe. Super cute. I loved that she doesn’t charge a cleaning fee for your departure….you do have to clean the place but that didn’t bother me, it was quite therapeutic to leave a place nice and clean! (Cleaning supplies provided) It was a perfect size for my family of six (two teens and two kids) to not feel crowded. She was a perfect host and very responsive and friendly. Enjoy your trip wherever you end up booking….but I can guarantee you will definitely enjoy it at Cherisse’s place. Thank you Cherisse for stepping out in faith and becoming an Airbnb host!

We had a lovely stay at The Rusty Nail. The cabin was clean, cozy and had everything we needed. We were fortunate enough to even have a early morning rain that sounded wonderful on the tin roof. It was a great weekend spot for my husband and I.

this cottage is like something straight out of Anne of Green Gables! The upstairs rooms were all so cute. We slept with the windows open and listened to the creek at night. The fire bowl was great for s'mores and the setting was lovely. Celeste was very.yeasy to work with and I truly didn't want to leave

The lake house was even better than the pictures. The property grounds were beautiful and an easy walk down to the dock. Our kids had the best time swimming from the dock and kayaking in the cove. We brought our boat and I really appreciated the nice fendering on the dock. We would love to stay at Phillips house again in the future.

Great cabin super close to downtown Highlands. Looks just as great as the photos, perfectly clean, very nicely appointed and furnished. This was a much better situation for our family over a local hotel. We would definitely come back!!

Dj was responsive and the home was beautiful, large, clean, and had everything you could need. Towels were soft. Bathroom was clean. Beds were clean and bedrooms had fans (absolutely great) and an amazing location

The cottage was very nice. It was clean and comfortable. We had many amenities, more than we expected. The neighborhood was quiet, and close to town. If we were ever to visit Franklin again, we would definitely stay at the Windmill Cottage.

What an excellent find. At one end of the small but densely packed downtown Highlands, we were no more than a 5 min walk from all the restaurants and shops we could want. The place was private and quiet while close to everything. I would recommend it.

Don and the rental were fantastic. I can only wish that every Air BnB was done this well. Water on every table. The bathroom had everything you might have forgotten. The fridge had soda and water in it. Even had a Smores setup for the firepit outside. I will be back here regularly and Don's place will always be my first choice. Dons hospitality was world class. It is very hard to find genuine hospitality and Don hit it off the mountain.

Jen is a great host! She is highly responsive, anticipated our needs and made our stay absolutely wonderful. Everything is as advertised, and our stay was fantastic. The place has with hiker-themed photos, books, decorations. The place has easy access, close to town and lots to do there, and the area hiking is superb! We are amazed at Jen and Greg’s hiking adventures, very inspiring! Thank you for an excellent stay, we hope to return someday!

This was a lovely cozy place to stay in the NC mountain. It was close to town and Colleen was a great host. Would definitely stay here again!!

Holly was extremely responsive and helpful. The cottage was much cuter and cozier than the photos depict. It was very quiet and tucked away in the beautiful NC mountains. The parking spot is a little short, but our minivan did fit. The road to the cottage is dirt and could be a little challenging for a small low riding vehicle. We did not have problems. We love the country so we took these things in stride. She had many small additions that made arrival and the stay special like caramels, tea, and coffee choices. You could tell by these additions and her exemplary communication that she wanted our stay top notch! We would highly recommend this cottage.

Belinda and Ben were great host! The home met our needs as we were waiting to close on our home. The space worked well for my husband who was working remotely and also for the visiting grand kids. The home is simple bbut had everything we needed.

This place was perfect! Super comfy, especially the bed and super soft sheets! Loved the screened in porch view, being elevated, looking down at the lake, felt so naturesque and private!

Chris is extremely friendly and giving you a feeling of belonging. We had great time a I’m definitely going to use her facilities again!

Condo was great. Plenty of parking. Condo was clean and nicely decorated with good views of the surrounding mountains.

Kelli's place was such a treat. Our family had a wonderful time. I can not say enough wonderful things about the condo. Beautiful views, spotlessly clean, well stocked kitchen (pots, pans, etc.), and numerous extra touches that made for a very special family vacation. We are already planning a return trip. Ten stars for this wonderful home and ten more start for the spectacular owners. We miss Cashiers already, but we will be back soon to visit Kelli's place!

Will stay here again

If you are looking for a mountain cabin get away vibe, this is the place! It was beautiful, clean, much bigger than I expected and cozy at the same time. The huge porch is the piece de resistance - when you lie down in the comfy porch swing, you feel like you are in a tree house. I would definitely recommend and will rebook if I am back in Cashiers again.

Wonderful! The original place we booked was canceled due to frozen pipes, leaving us without a place to stay. Thankfully, we found this place and could not have been happier! Beautiful views, great deck, and overall a wonderful space! Also, Stewart was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!

I honestly have to say this was the most beautiful experience that my family and I have ever had. Waking up to the sunshine and seeing nature is priceless. Getting away from all the noise and hustle and bustle of the city and coming here and experiencing tranquility was everything to us. We’re definitely coming back !!!
