A short walk around our building and you can enjoy our large grassy grounds and ledge rock Lake Superior shoreline. Note there is no view of Lake Superior from this room, and this room is located next to the office.

Loved our stay here! The location is PERFECT if you're wanting to do anything in downtown; you can walk anywhere, and looking over the lake was an incredible way to wind down! We did think the photos made the rooms look bigger than they were, but that's so minor. Just feels worth noting. :) The hosts were incredible responsive whenever we had questions, and booking their spot was very easy. There was a little hiccup when we booked, but they got it all sorted out right away. Highly recommend! We want to come back and try all of their rooms!

A really beautiful place to stay while visiting the north shore. Easy to find, clean, comfortable, and such a nice view from the hostel. The view of the stars at night is fantastic as well. It was pretty snowy while visiting and the driveway and parking area were plowed wonderfully. I'd stay in this cozy hostel again in a heartbeat!

The place is comfortable like it’s someone’s home, it’s got all the amenities you could ask for in a vacation rental (plus the fun extras like a rooftop deck and outdoor fireplace in common areas), and the location is unbeatable for easy access to shops, restaurants, and things to do. We would absolutely stay at The Mayhew again!

Our family of 4 had an absolutely lovely two-nights stay here. The photos do not do it justice. All the furniture felt upscale, sturdy and comfortable. The entire place was so well designed. Every little thing from the colorful dishes to the shampoo/conditioner/soap dispensers in the shower added to the aesthetic. I loved the two-story private unit that we rented — it had its own private balcony/deck area off the top floor, where we enjoyed sunrise views of Lake Superior. But the entire Mayhew Inn is so fun. Communal places to sit in front of a fire or hangout with board games. All the local spots (including grocery stores) are easily walkable. We also went hiking in Cascade State Park (about 10-15 minutes away) and there were many waterfalls!

thoroughly enjoyed our private getaway, had breakfast on the lovely deck daily with awesome views of the lake. The overall experience was awesome, we will be back and have suggested this to six friends who will book in the future. kudos to the two of you for taking on this. awesome motel and allowing us to enjoy it! We thoroughly enjoyed talking to Isaac on our way out as well, noting that his wife Molly is from our area!

Standard King near Lake Superior

First time staying at a Boutique Hotel. St James Social is amazing. Great location, decor, restaurant and amenities. We enjoyed the sauna and private rooftop lounging area. Especially liked the retro record player. So fun! Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay! Amazing views of the lake, we enjoyed the sauna and the host were very responsive! The Airbnb is tucked away and sits right next to the lake! Feels very private which we enjoyed. The room was very cozy and loved that they had extra essentials (shampoo, body wash, makeup remover wipes) to use in the bathroom. Definitely will be coming back soon! Thank you!

Hostel du Nord was absolutely excellent. It was situated in a nondescript location, but it was a great experience! The staff were super friendly and responsive, and I felt safe the whole time. It was clean and organized well, and the vibe was a really cozy kind of eclectic. I enjoyed my stay a lot, and I definitely plan on going back again, when I visit the area!
