Modern and spacious with river and vineyard views

JackRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We stayed here as a group for the Hawke’s Bay Marathon and absolutely loved it. The 40-minute drive from Napier was totally worth it for the peace and quiet. The house was spotless, well-equipped, and super comfortable — perfect for winding down after race day. The host was great to deal with and made everything easy. Would definitely stay again next time we’re down for the marathon or a weekend away!

Mohaka Backcountry Quarters

The place is very relaxing and peaceful. The journey there was quite a long one coming from Auckland on a raining day does not help. The house is very clean and spotless which is comforting. Even though there is no mobile coverage, there is a very good WiFi for me to beam projector to the wall for movies. It was a great experience overall.
A modern building with large glass windows reflects the vibrant hues of a sunset. The expansive deck and manicured lawn are framed by native trees, while the ocean is visible in the distance under a sky painted with shades of pink and purple.

Magrathea Rural Dark Sky Retreat

MilaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
This place is the perfect place to go for a digital detox: star gaze, sleep well, coffee out on the porch with just the bird songs. Located 30 mins easy drive from Hastings, at the end of a countryside road, it was no big effort to come to and from this place by car. We love to drive so we actually enjoyed the country roads around this place. The first night we stayed, the night was perfectly clear so Graham gave us a night sky tour. We got to ask lots of questions and look at a couple of planets through the telescope. The bed and sofa are actually so so comfortable, you’ll sleep well at this Airbnb. It’s the perfect little retreat. We are definitely keen to come back in winter time to see how the night sky has changed.
