A fixed staircase brings you upstairs, where a spacious bedroom with a nice box spring stands. Private sauna can be booked.

Drachten and Groningen are 15-25 minutes away by car. Leeuwarden is about 45 minutes drive. Breakfast package possible, preferably passed on before arrival.

The barn was such a lovely place to stay for a peaceful weekend. Caroline and Bart were so helpful and gave fantastic recommendations. If you’re looking for day trips, it’s also a perfect base for exploring. We drove 30 minutes to catch a ferry to one of the nearby islands and it was perfect. The barn has loads of space and a lovely picnic table outside that was in sunshine and perfect for eating/drinking. Will definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay in the large vacation home with the whole family. Everything was as described (Please note: There is no grill). With direct views of the mother cows with their calves. The downstairs bedroom is a dream! The campsite, to which the house belongs, was designed close to nature with freely mowed parking spaces and some paths. In between, the grass was allowed to grow. We had a great trip with the canoes, through the adjacent extensive pasture landscape, with fallow birds, lapwings and oystercatchers♥️. A special experience for every nature lover. For the children, there was also a lot to discover (water play area, go-karts, trampoline). The cottage is well located to get to the ferry to Schiermonnikoog or to Dokkum (a very nice place). However, there is no other infrastructure directly on site.

Three chickens are perched on a wooden picnic table situated on a grassy area. Surrounding foliage includes dense greenery and shrubs, providing a natural setting. The table's rustic design contrasts with the vibrant green grass beneath.
