Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Kent County

We needed a place to stay while we transitioned to Delaware. This was the perfect place for us. It was close to the beach, comfortable, very quite, and everyone was so friendly. We felt like we were at home even if it was a temporary stop. There was plenty of space and things we needed to make our stay smooth. Shane and Erin were helpful and wonderful hosts, they let us know of upcoming event's and if there was anything we should be aware of. I would recommend this place to couples or families. We stayed during the holidays and it felt magical to be there during this time.

This place is absolutely magical. It exceeded our (already high) expectations in every way. The beach house is gorgeous, beautifully decorated, comfortable and makes excellent use of the small space. Everything you could think of needing is there! Susan was very sweet, leaving a small welcome gift, and helpful and communicative throughout the stay if needed. It genuinely felt like we had our own private (massive) beach. It is a bay beach and Susan accurately describes it, but we were expecting hoards of bugs. We only needed bug spray one evening out of a 4-day stay. There’s tons of shorebirds, beautiful rocks, shells and sand, and there’s about a mile of beach directly north of the bungalow that’s totally undeveloped, so it feels like you’re staying IN a nature preserve. We had thought we would go out and tour some of the other nearby beaches, but ended up wanting to just stay at Kitt’s Hummock, we liked it so much! I would take another vacation *just* to stay here again.

We had a lovely time at Jenni’s place! We stayed at the house for a weekend because we had a wedding to attend close by but we wish we could have stayed longer! Location was amazing and so peaceful! We thoroughly enjoyed birdwatching and relaxing on the porch. The house itself was very spacious, and beautifully decorated! Would love to return again to explore the town and spend time at the beach!

This house was great for my large family. Very clean and a lot of space. We really enjoyed the pool and outside area as well. The neighborhood was safe and quiet and close to the highway for stores and restaurants. Jacqueline is a fantastic host as this is the second time and second location we have rented from her. Very friendly and always responsive!

This is my second time back here and it was just as nice as the first time here. Loved everything about Dana’s place. We will be back again for sure.

We were three college friends celebrating our 50th birthdays. The house was lovely and very close to the beach. We enjoyed our stay!

Martha’s home was absolutely wonderful—by far the cleanest Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in! Everything was spotless and so thoughtfully maintained. The luxury linens and bedding made for an incredibly comfortable stay, and every bathroom was stocked with plenty of towels and washcloths, which we really appreciated. We felt completely at home from the moment we arrived. Check-in was seamless with no hiccups whatsoever. Zero complaints—just a perfect experience all around!

We had a great time at Julia's place. The beach was steps from the front door and you could see the water from the screened in porch. The location was quiet and the house was clean. Kitchen was well stocked and sheets were clean

I really enjoyed my stay. Everything went smoothly with check in and check out and Margaret answered any questions I had promptly. There was one maintenance issue but it was resolved right away and did not interfere with my plans at all. The entire space was cozy and comfortable and I really enjoyed being able to take some walks in the neighborhood. It was a nice, quiet place to come back to after work and relax.

Our stay was so calm and easy and peaceful. Elaine made our place cozy and fully accommodated with everything we could have needed. My husband particularly loved the location and the remote feeling of the home while still being close to the beaches.

Danielle’s place is super cute with a serene farm setting! We loved getting to say hello to the horses, and there is an incredibly loving barn cat that will come say hi, too. Good size living and dining room spaces, coffee maker (keurig), etc. Those a little sensitive to smells might notice the pet smell from previous tenants, and the water was a little sulfury. You’re on a farm though, so you gotta expect some stuff not to be super fragrant or pristine. Also worth noting that the one bathroom is through the master bed. Just a heads up to people sharing spaces with others who aren’t relatives / partners etc. Overall a very cool spot and after spending the previous night in NYC, it was a welcome change of pace.

It is my understanding that she will not be renting her cottage anymore. Please check. I could be wrong

We booked Erma's place for our birdwatching adventure. I had the master bedroom, which was large with comfy bed. My sister slept well on the futon in the second bedroom. Although she sometimes heard people walking around upstairs, their schedules aligned with ours, early to bed and early to rise. Then they were off to work and we went birding at the many wildlife refuges available. We cooked in the small kitchen, with plentiful supplies and condiments, and picked up groceries at Bylers and other nearby stores. The living room was large and comfortable. The large bathroom was conveniently off the living room. Since it was a little chilly with the ac on upstairs, we simply followed the instructions to close the vent and we were fine. Parking was convenient, and we sometimes hung out in the peaceful backyard, occasionally walking over to see the chickens. Erma responded promptly to any questions that I texted.
