The Alder-grove is a lovely custom built yurt nestled up on the hill behind the shire residence surrounded by alder trees and adjacent to a small park. The yurt sports a queen bed, kitchenette, seating area inside and on the personal porch with a wood stove for winter nights and electric infrared heater for cool summer days. You will have a private composting toilet as well as access to the grooming glade that offers running water, a propane heated outdoor shower, and dish washing station.

A rustic yurt interior is highlighted by a log-style bed featuring a black and white bear-themed blanket. Warm string lights provide soft illumination along the wooden walls, creating a cozy ambiance. Additional decorative elements enhance the natural wood aesthetics of the yurt.

Cozy yurt just outside of town

If you're wanting something a little different than a hotel room, come stay in our yurt nestled at the back of our property. There are mountain views right outside the door. Located only a short distance to the Seward boat harbor and Kenai Fjords national park. The yurt features a skylight to lay in bed and view the sky, electric fireplace, water cooler, coffee maker, as well as a shared bath house with full size shower, vanity and toilet. Sit out on the deck and relax, or next to the fire.

The Homer Roundhouse is a perfect lodging choice for a couple, a small family or 4-5 adults. Located on a small road across from the beach yet hidden in town, this first class yurt is wonderful. All modern appliances and conveniences. You'll love it! We only book 3 night minimum stays on our calendar until March 1st then we open our calendar up to fewer days. Please know that there is so much to do and see in the Homer/Kachemak Bay area that 3 nights should always be the preference.

We are not your average getaway. Hidden in the rainforest canopy, spend the afternoon grilling on the porch while watching the eagles fly to and from their nest above the yurt. A labor of love as my first home, I hope you get a slice of the serenity that comes with unplugging in this magical spot. If you’re lucky you’ll wake up to a moose or two in the pond.

This 16.7 acres has the main house and two other cabin rentals located on the property but plenty of space in between for privacy purposes. Please please be certain of your booking dates.
