Edna and Alfons were the warmest hosts you could only ask for! We felt comfortable from the beginning, had a cozy room, the food was super delicious and varied. Here you really experience the original Sri Lanka, away from the tourist paths - and also get to know great, interesting people (other guests, Edna and Alfons, who always have something exciting to tell about their life in the jungle, as well as the nice staff at the lodge). Alfons has taken a hike through the rainforest with us and 2 other guests - absolutely worth it! Also in the morning yoga or a massage at Edna's place I can only recommend it. We had really great days (and didn't want to leave)! 1000 thanks to you two, we will definitely be back!

I spent two weeks with Sunil and his family and had a wonderful holiday. My goal was to relax and recover from my stressful life. I was left alone when I needed it, but also fed with information when I needed it. Sunil was always anxious that all my wishes were fulfilled. He was always on hand with words and deeds if I wanted to go on a trip, or needed a tip to do things (Ayurveda treatment, restaurants or elephant safari). To summarize, I can say that I felt very comfortable the whole time. The room was very pleasant and exactly as shown in the photos. There is no lack of anything and if that, Sunil cares about it without any problems. I have rarely experienced such a beautiful hospitality. I would like to thank Sunil and his family for this unforgettable time !!!!

We stayed at the upper floor of the homestay and 3rd floor of the Espirit hotel. Lex had the caretakers waiting for us when we checked in so late. His family is responsible kind and safe for a family or for female travellers. Its a place that welcomes smokers, so if you are sensitive to smoking 3rd floor of Espirit is vest away from the music and the fresh ocen air. Even though you cant avoid smokers in the whole Benthota area. But if you are at an upper floor of Espirit they have huge door windows and you can get lot of fresh air. They have tall ceilings and a good fan with AC and a fridge. It was spotless in the hotel. We had the best sleep in the hotel our first day there, we even would have loved to extend our stay. Restaurent is also very nice and they give you a good breakfast and the best coffee. Its close to beach but far enough from the train so the noice level doesnt bother you like some other properties in the area. If we ever go back to Benthota we will come back to Espiri

We had a great stay with the host family. They are very friendly and welcoming. The room is as decribed, tidy and clean. Location is also great, close to everything you need. We would come back here for sure.

Lucky's place is unique. Nowhere did we feel as at home as with him. His wife cooks incredibly delicious food, his kids are really sweet and help where they can. The dad, too, always had a smile on his face. The beach is 100m away and Lucky always has a tip ready. He explains a lot about his country & is also very interested in yours. We'd return to this place anytime. 100% recommended.

The room is really beautiful for the price! How had no such beautiful room as in an expensive hotel during our entire stay in Sri Lanka. Everything super clean and fresh. The location is also great because you can also reach everything on foot. The hosts are super friendly and flexible, we felt super comfortable. By the way, a kitchen and washing machine are included in the accommodation.

Super deluxe comfy beds! Even the luxury bed sheets were a delight to sleep in. The house makes very good food in great portions. Both breakfast and dinner were very tasty. It’s super silent at night. The room and bathroom was exceptionally clean. There was aircon and a silent fan available in the room. This was the best place I stayed at in 2 months. If only they had WiFi coverage near the rooms as you get almost no cellphones signal. That was the only thing which keeps me from staying longer. Highly recommend this place!

Great location where you can really relax. Rohan and his staff are very welcoming and helpful. The room was very spacious, as was the bathroom and the terras was a very nice place to relax and enjoy the evening. The food was good, we enjoyed the local dishes!

Very warm and dear hostess who also likes to help with tips. The breakfast is very nice and extremely varied. Here, individual wishes will also be taken into account. Place is clean and spacious. If you are lucky, you can watch a few monkeys at breakfast. The absolute plus for us was that Ingrid speaks German, which made communication much easier. However, English is also no problem. We will be happy to come back!
